Great food, great service, great ambiance. We enjoyed everything: oysters, wine, steak, side dishes and dessert. Judging by the number of plates of puffed potatoes that were being served at other tables, we have to come back and give them a try also. Otherwise, I'd order the exact same meal again and again, it was perfect.

This place is definitely over priced. Food is good pretending high end cousin but nothing as Ahhh... Limited choice. Great for Brantford. place is very small. Couch is too low especially for short people. Also feel like it's popular spot for old guys to bring young girls for dinner. Good luck. I won't come back, sorry

We get there and Grant tells us he lost the reservation. They still seated us, but from the time we ordered until we got our food was about two and a half hours. We were there for about 4 hours in total. Service was average. Food was ok - not memorable, but the bill sure was!

Great cockails, food, wine, service. A bit price on the food but the drinks were less than some places, so that helped. Highly recommend. Will go back. Especially liked the house-made cherries in the manhattan. Also that they have side cars on the menu. Also the steak. Also the potatoes. So many special parts to this experience.

This is my favorite place to eat in Brantford. Super consistent tasty food. Can also just do a bunch of appetizers for dinner. Works well. It's a little pricy, but worth it for what you get.

Legitimately the best restaurant in Brantford! If you're ever in town you need to dine at this hidden gem. The whole experience from the start to finish was amazing! I would give this place 10 stars if I could. The food was absolutely terrific and so was our service! We ordered the Korean style chicken wings, oysters, the prime rib, puffed potatoes, Buffalo cauliflower, beets and barley. First of all, I've never had a better meal than this one in a long time. Everything was so flavourful and seasoned perfectly. Very well developed flavours. My steak was cooked to perfection and those puffed potatoes were little bits of heaven. Seriously, whoever thought of those is a genius.

Wow, what a diamond. We went on a friend's recommendation, and will be back often. The puffed potatoes were phenomenal. The shrimp tacos (a special that day) were fresh and delicious. The burger was eaten faster than you could again and the Korean fried chicken was on point. The value for what we got in service, flavour and ambiance was incredible. It's worth the drive even if you aren't from Brantford. This is a 5 star anywhere.

My son brought me to On the Lamb for Father's day. It was the first time he was able to treat me to a dinner and he was excited to try this spot out. He is a chef so he was also interested in their quality and presentation. Needless to say we both were very impressed with the quality of the food, presentation and service.

Hands down one of the best restaurants we've ever been to! Dined there again for our second time last night. Firstly the food in incredible and their souve tenderloin is quite literally our of this world! Everything from their apps to their sides are scumptious. The service we received on both occasions has been genuine, knowledgeable and very friendly. 5 Stars all the way! We'll definitely be back soon.????

Starting with drinks at the bar and then moving to the candlelit dinner at our table, our group of four thoroughly enjoyed the experience from start to finish. The owners and staff are wonderful - pleasant, efficient and friendly - clearly knowledgable about what it takes to run a top-notch dining establishment for their patrons (composed of new guests and regular "locals", alike). The ambience is intimate (in the relatively small space) but lively (as guests come and go). We love the atmosphere there. And, then, there's the food. Wow. Sides are served family style and are "to die for" - especially those puffed potatoes! The mains we had were done to perfection - pork, beef and seared scallops - all wonderful! If you have never been - go. If, like us, you have gone before, make a reservation and enjoy it again! Kudos to "On the Lam"!

Never a bad meal. The cauliflower fritters are incredible and no one does meat as well as here. The only negative I'll never understand is serving warm water on a hot day when the air conditioning isn't working.

Every experience at On the Lam is a fabulous. Their sous vide tenderloin with thick cast sear is still one of the best chunks of meat i've ever eaten. Inventive cocktails, craft and local beers on tap, and a solid wine list make this place a wonderful choice. Small space that fills up quickly on Fridays and Saturdays - my suggestion is make a reservation.

A lovely little restaurant in Brantford. From the outside you would not expect fine dining, but it is. The space is small and usually full, make a reservation so you're not disappointed. If you like raw they always have a selection. The menu is small but varied enough for most tastes. We enjoyed the special which was a 20oz striploin with 2 sides - it was huge, definately more than enough for 2 people.The potato puffs melt in your mouth. Wonderful for date night.

Went for the first time this past weekend. I was very pleased with the service and the excellent quality of the food. I had beef tartare and oysters. They were both delicious and fresh. It is a little pricey, but paying extra is worth it for such fresh seafood. A great place for foodies just starting out. The atmosphere is also very inviting and relaxing.

If you're not deaf now you will be if you go there. The music is extremely loud and the owner refuses to turn it down. One has to yell at the person beside them in order to be heard. The wait staff has to yell at you to place your order. The portions a very small and just because the sign says gourmet doesn't make it so, very ordinary and very expensive.

Thursday, July 26 2018 A group of seven of us arrived for a 7:30 dinner reservation as part of a birthday celebration. Our mains hit the table at 9:40 PM. That should say a lot. We found out, an hour into waiting with no food in sight, that the fryer was broken. But only after talking to the waitress about how much longer our salad and oysters were going to be. People who came half an hour after us had been fully served and left before we saw our meals. At 9pm we got our first food, warm olives with bread, which was ordered at 7:40. 9:05 one serving of mussels, one taco 9:10 salad and oysters. 9:45 steak, tacos, fish, and scallops. 9:55 beans, potatoes, and peas with an extra bit of free plastic wrap included.(Side note we ordered 4 servings of potatoes, but were advised 20 mins after ordering that we would only get 2 because they weren't going to prep anymore). I've heard good things about the food, but by the time I got my dinner I didn't care. The mussels were good. The oysters were good. The tacos were ok. The scallops were not seared at high enough temp to get a good caramelized crust. The steak was heavy with a hint of dirty grill in the sear. The food was adequate, but not at those prices or the investment in time it took to taste it. The worst part is that no one cared enough to manage our experience. The server was apologetic but offered no pratical recommendations or solutions. The owner, Grant, offered no solutions either and stated that two hours isn't a long wait time. And the kitchen didn't modify the delivery schedule to at least get the cold foods to the table to compensate for their technical difficulties. The only thing comped at the end were the peas, because even for these folks, plastic wrap in peas is one country too far. The only conclusion we can come to is that they really didn't think they needed our business.

We were taken out to dinner here by our children as a birthday celebration. We had a great time - good company, great food, good wine, and absolutely no pressure to eat up and get out! I had Korean Fried Chicken as an appetizer, hot and spicy good, followed by Pan Seared Salmon. Very good, well worth the drive from Hamilton. Love the food, like the local and seasonal features, you cannot get a better steak! The cocktails are unique and delicious and the atmosphere. Never less then 5 star

One of our favorite spots here in Brantford. On good occasions me and my girlfriend treat ourselves to a meal at On The Lam . Guarenteed great service every time, amazing food and an awesome playlist in the background. We find a new favorite dish on their menu each time we visit. The fun and intimate atmosphere keep us coming back for more. Couldn't recommend a better place to enjoy a special dining experience in town than at On The Lam!

I visited On The Lam once, and have day-dreamed about the spot ever since. The quality of the service, the finessing of flavour, the intimate vibe... My fiancé and I ordered 5 menu items and 4 drinks total, and paid around $100. The cost was astounding considering how heart-stoppingly yummy the plates were. We will be back once this dang pandemic allows!

I really wanted to like this restaurant, and as a preface, the food was actually really tasty. But the service was *terrible*. The deepfryer broke while we were there, but we weren't told about it until after we'd been waiting an hour for even just our appetizers. We had even ordered raw oysters, which could have been served first, but that didn't happen. We ended up waiting 2 hours for all of our food to arrive, all at different times. At no point were we offered free drinks, or bread, or an appetizer on the house as compensation for the insane wait, nor were we really kept up to date on the time it was going to take for our food. After we finished, a couple people in our party talked to the chef/owner and our waitress, but the response was very uncaring and rude. Not to mention they also ran out of a menu option that we'd ordered a few plates of, so we only got 2 orders of them instead of 4. I understand that a deepfryer breaking is not something you can predict and it's not their fault either, but keeping your customers in the dark until they're hangry, and not offering an out, or compensation is bad management.

We have come to OTL quite a few time’s and always enjoy our meal. There was only one instance where my steak was far to salty (and it’s happened only once in many times with many steaks) and they very quickly fixed the problem. The atmosphere is great, the food is great and drinks are solid. I recommend making a reservation as it is an intimate dining experience.

Once again, chef Scott at On The Lam proved to us that a wonderfully prepared meal is a true art form. The scallop tataki appetizer with mushrooms and jalapeno peppers was beautiful to admire, and provided the perfect combination of delicate texture and bold flavour. The Lake Erie perch, light yet nicely seasoned - and prepared without a breading or batter - accompanied by a savoury tartar sauce, with an outstanding blue-cheese infused, buttery Buffalo sauce cauliflower side, was memorable. Everything paired extremely well with the Ontario Keint-he Chardonnay.

There was extra sauce and salsa on the picnic table (on a beautiful day to sit outdoors), but I was afraid that adding something would take away from the perfection of each bite. So good. The smoked corn was a great addition. It had a little zest and I think some queso fresca or cream drizzle. My daughter gave me a bite of carnitas - another wow. Slightly sweet with tangy salsa, and a definite "get it next time". Top it off with a Topo Chico, and it was a lunch to make the whole day. Fast and super friendly service made it a five star event.

This restaurant is not easy to spot. It's on a corner, has an unusual shape and it very tiny (although I didn't feel claustrophobic in there - it's seems roomier on the inside). The menu is very limited and they often run out of things on a busy night - however what they have is delicious. This place seems to a real following for people of various age groups. I'm told it's always busy. A reservation is necessary because of limited number of tables and people tend to stay for several hours. The service was very good.

This was our first visit to On the Lam. We had heard good things and some not so complimentary so thought we would give it a try. The food was great and the service friendly and attentive without being intrusive. One thing those who do not know Brantford is that the restaurant is small and I would think could be noisy if filled to capacity. My advice is go by 6:30. I had been told that they routinely had oysters and that is correct; having lived on the west coast for several years, I am an oyster fan. They had two kinds and I had six of each. Great flavour. My friend had a salad that was a good size with lovely dressing. For our main course my wife had the salmon and I had the mussles, both delicious.

I have been to this restaurant on several occasions and I have never been disappointed. The service has always been amazing. The servers and bar staff are friendly and they create a very welcoming atmosphere for the guests. I am always with a group of five or more people when I eat here and I am so impressed at how quickly the food comes out. The wait time is comparable to any other restaurant and the quality and creativity of the plates surpasses most others. One of the girls in our party is very high maintenance and our server went above and beyond to make sure she was happy with her food. The location is quite small and always extremely busy, which speaks to their reputation, so be prepared to enjoy a few hours here. I would highly recommend this restaurant for fine dining.
