The Smoked meat sandwich is still yummy, but the prices have really gone up. My brother and I went last night. We each had the smoked meat sandwich meal, an ice tea, and a brownie for desert. Over $60 with tip. We can eat at the Keg for $80.

Great selection, big portions and desserts that will make you drool! I had the Canadian Eggs Benedict (pemeal & cheddar), a delicious twist on the classic. Great atmosphere of a classic diner. Bright, clean and colourful. Wait staff are friendly and attentive. Can't wait to go back! ????

We have been a long time customer and have had nothing but good things to say about this restaurant, but today March 6, 2020 is the last time we will eat there. We have always enjoyed certain privileges such as substituting a glass of coke for a coffee. Today the owners daughter told me that we never got this privilege, I do not tell lies. The chocolate cake for desert was stale. I felt that the manager was rude. I will not return.

Not like Cambridge at all. I was very excited to see an angels dinner in Guelph when I moved here from Cambridge. Not the same at all. Food is different in away that makes me sick . Frozen vegetables and never mind the sticker I got on my breakfast. Haven't gotten gone back.

Comfortable booths, friendly service. Love coming here for breakfast. Our favorite is farmers saute, I prefer my eggs on the side. Always nice and hot!! Revised, staff not very attentive this morning. Coffee was never filled. No one came to check in and had to wait for bill too long.

the atmosphere is unique , but this is pretty much all , I order the Benedict , and since i know the fruit salat is very cold and tasteless i had a side oder of tomato , the service is very friendly but this is or should be standard . The food came very quickly ( we where 4 on the table ) at 7 am , Unfortunately the potatoes ( deep fried ) had been cold after 90 sec ... so to make up for it i ordered a side order of toast with jam for 3.50 $$$$$ . so over all a very poor experience , and guelph has much better places for breakfast to offer ,

This was my first visit to this location, however was confident in my choice based on previous experiences at Angels Diner in Kitchener. This restaurant is themed beautifully, however misses the mark on pretty much everything else. From a food perspective we found a dead fly in our Traditional Club. Our waitress was MIA for the better part of the meal, as our drinks sat empty and our concern unaddressed. Our waitress was mortified to see the fly in the lettuce and addressed the problem in an appropriate manner. I will absolutely visit Angels diner again...but probably not this one.

Great food and amazing atmosphere. I've been here twice already. Their burgers are delicious, well seasoned, and not over cooked. I've also had their fish and chips, which I found to be a little too greasy for my liking but still very, very good. I absolutely love their fries, especially when dipped in gravy. I highly suggest you order a side for dipping. The only issue that's keeping me from giving this place 5 stars is the speed of service. It was very difficult to get a waiters attention (even when they didn't appear busy) to ask for a re-fill on the drinks. We had to say 'excuse me' several times before someone actually stopped to acknowledge our request after a waiter had said they'd be right back with them and then never showed up. Not a be all, end all situation, but just something to keep in mind. The initial ordering process was much better and we did get our food within a reasonable amount of time. Would definitely eat here again!

I went on a very busy Sunday for lunch and our party had to be split into two adjacent booths, but it was fine. Very nice, laid back atmosphere and the food came quickly! I ordered the fish and chips and was thoroughly impressed! Huge portions (came with two fish) and very good. My friend got the chicken fingers and wow - they were the best chicken fingers I've ever tried! The batter looked exactly like the fish and the chicken was fresh! They also came with the best sauces: homemade tartar for mine, and amazing honey dijon and BBQ for the chicken fingers. I will definitely be back to try more!

Have been a fan of the Fifty's/Jack's franchise for a long time, so when my family suggested we get takeout from Angel's for supper, I was excited. Arrived to find out that my favorite thing on their menu (and still listed on their website) the meatball hoagie, is no longer on their menu. When I asked the manager nearby why it was on the Angel's website if it's no longer on the menu, I was told that it was head office's problem and not hers. I shrugged it off and decided to order something else and a beer while I waited, but was then told (very rudely by the same manager) that if I wanted a beer I would have to go sit at a table and wait to be served as though I was dining in. Also I was not allowed to pay for my beer alongside my takeout food, for a reason that still doesn't make sense to me. Decided against getting the beer (mainly because as someone who worked in the restaurant industry for 16 years, I know servers don't want to deal with a lone guy who's going to sit at a table of four for a single beer). I will not be back to this location. Very rude and bitchy manager, who clearly doesn't like her job. Do yourself a favor and drive to Cambridge to go to Fifty's.

Great service & the appearance of COVID policies with contact tracing etc BUT one of the cooks not wearing a mask and 2 patrons not wearing mask after leaving table!!! No one spoke to them enforcing policy? Meal was just OK - frozen spinach in omelette and sausages looked like they were cooked before and heated up - not great! Will not return even though serve staff was fantastic

Big menu and ingredients are of good quality. I had the smoked salmon bagel sandwich and ordered a side of fruit. I was pleased with the freshness of all the ingredients. My son says the milkshakes are.outstanding. I would pay more to have local ingredients that were seasonal.

The table we were led to in the half empty restaurant had coffee stains and crumbs on it along with fresh utensils. New staff slacking? Coffee is bad. Chicken tenders are usually great but today were pretty awful. Burnt batter that was completely detached from chewy tough chicken fillets. Plus the fact that none of the wait staff seems to have ever been given training on not oppressing trans people ????

I've been here several times for breakfast. The food is always good but the service could use some work. There always seems to be disputes between the servers about who is supposed to be covering what tables. Upon entering you see many busy employees, but wait a while before being acknowledged. A simple "someone will be right with you" would go a long way. Especially frustrating when you stand there listening to the employees chit-chatting. However, it's always packed so I guess they aren't concerned with poor customer service. All in all it's a good, quick and clean place to grab breakfast.

The service was horrendous. The waitreuss barely stayed at the table for any questions we had. All 3 of our orders were made wrong but do you think we could find our waitress to complain? The steak was so OVER cooked in our one plate that it was like rubber & could barely be cut. The omelette came with the wrong ingredients (how do you mess up a veggie omelette???) Just to name a few problems. And why are you guys so far behind the times without a single gluten-free option? It was an appalling experience. We overpaid for an unsatisfactory meal, horrible custom service and too many mistakes! Appalling!

We were seated. Restaurant was dead, maybe 5 other tables full. We waited for 15 minutes - no acknowledgement, no drinks, order wasn't taken. Completely ignored. We left. On many occasions you have to flag someone down for a refill as the waitresses disappear, or never come back to check once food has been served. Food is good, but service is awful. To be ignored when the restaurant is quiet and 3 servers are standing around chatting ? Pathetic. They even watched us leave without a word. I've given this location many chances, my boyfriend enjoys eating there, but it's not worth the price to be mistreated. Good food yes, service staff needs to be improved. Management is good, very helpful- but when they aren't around their staff slacks off.

Haven't been to Angels for at least a year. Decided to go for dinner, but won't be returning any time soon. My fish and chip dinner was decent but my wife ordered a Greek salad for $13. Iceberg lettuce with very minimal feta cheese and 3 tiny olives. Probably cost $.50 to make. I realize that the minimum wage hike is affecting local businesses, but please don't compensate at the customer's expense.

Please don't go there expecting to be served gourmet meals. The food is excellent value. You will not find any other place that can give you quality food and great service for the price. There is something for everyone. It is fantastic for Seniors. Portions are large & all the staff are fantastic and treat everyone with respect!! It is not a place where you should expect to find great wines. I think it is a great venue for Guelph.

I've always wanted to try Angel's Diner but have heard mixed reviews. I can confidently say that this location gave me an excellent experience overall. All day breakfast is something I really appreciate in a restaurant and definitely makes me want to return in the near future. Desert was excellent, served in a very large portion and was fairly priced. The staff was friendly and efficient. The food was prepared quickly and served just a few minutes after my order was taken. The restaurant was clean and well decorated. My only negative criticism is that the menu was fairly limited and didn't offer much in the way of vegetarian or vegan options.

Awesome food, The portions are huge. I ordered a salad and 12 chickens wings. I couldn't even finish my salad, it was massive. So I ended up packing my stuff up and had it for lunch the next day. 5***** for this establishment. Keep in mind this was the Guelph location. This is the cleanest Angels I've been to. The one in Kitchener is filthy, the one in Brantford was somewhat better, but the one in Guelph is just incredible, the place is impeciblely clean, bathrooms , floors , walls ,colours are just breath taking !!

Arrived to a crowded parking, had to park at the end of the lot. Entered the restaurant, and it was full packed! Looks like restaurant liked by locals. Waited 5min to be seated, giving me time to appreciate the colourful decor which has a restro style with jukebox at entrance, neon lights and old school posters (like Elvis...). Had to wait a bit longer once seated (but that was expected and im patient). The coffee was excellent and service as well. Got the Angel's Omelette, filled with good stuff, but a bit juicy ( i give to the tomatoes and mushrooms). Overall great experience!

Delicious comfort food in a relaxed and interesting atmosphere reminisce of a diner of yesteryear. Certainly the best liver and onions out there in my recent experience and the hamburger steak is yummy too. Most recently enjoyed a great Easter Sunday breakfast when the power at the house unceremoniously went off disrupting other plans. Although always busy, the waits are short for a table, value is terrific and the staff always friendly and accommodating!

Went to Angels with the wife over the weekend. Horrible waste of time and money. The young Blonde with Curly hair was rude and acted like I was wasting her time. Our order was wrong, told the other blonde with short hair. She seemed liked she cared and fixed the problem French toast was cold and they were the smallest scrambled eggs I’ve been served. Our server never asked us if we wanted more coffee. Never asked how our food was. I should’ve know that she was a poor server when she billed us before the food even got there. Then I saw her on her phone showing pictures to people of god only knows. I asked for the manager and she said they were busy at the moment. She stunk like cigarettes and my wife felt sick to her stomach. Worst food, servers even Worse. And the fact I couldn’t talk to manager really upset me and my wife. Never go there! If I could rate this place lower than 1 star I would! That girl should be fired! And the manager too! How could you not come to our table?

Me and my mom had come here for the first time as we are not from guelph. I gave it 1 star because the customer service was absolutely horrible. Our server wouldn't even engage in conversation and just fluff you off and was just rude and her body language seemed as if she could care less. And the food wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. I think some of the servers need to have some customer service training. We will not be returning.

The restaurant was not busy, but we were sat at the dish tray area, very distracting and noisily. When our food was brought to us the waiter asked who has the fish I said me. He then says here me. Refering to me as me I didnt like this. Then wanted a lemon for my fish but couldn't get the attention of a waitress so i used the one i had in my water. The waitress did come back finely and ask how our meal was i said ok, but my fish was dry. I was hungry and didnt want to wait again and ate it. They forgot to put a ioion on my sons burger, but again couldnt get the attention of anyone even though i could see them talking together. When we wanted to pay our bill even though we were clearly done, know one came i finly got the atention of our waitress. All the time we were paying the bill, the waiter kept talking he took his time. I just wanted to pay the bill and leave. He kept talking about my sons past visits. Not once ask how our meal was. Two windows in the restrant were broken, when asked they said it was broken by stones.

The restaurant was really busy when we went in and where we were seated we had to be careful where we stepped as there was egg, bacon and other food all over the floor. A child must have sat there just before us. I felt they should have at least swept the floor. The food is pretty standard to what you would get other places. I use to feel that Angels was a good value spot and you got a lot for what you paid for. You still get a fair bit but their prices have caught up with their competitors. The service was good and attentive. She was very friendly and checked in on us at good intervals.

Server was a little all over the place and took a while to get our food, ordered milkshakes to go at the end and was brought them to stay, which is understandable but server blamed the kitchen, as if he wasn't the one who carried them all the way across the restaurant and could have corrected the error prior to bringing them to the table. Again, not a big issue but not a fan of servers blaming issues on the kitchen that they should have caught when there's only 3 other tables in the restaurant and it doesn't look as though those tables were his. Time and time again this place has proven to be nothing but disappointing. The prices for sides and "upgrades" are ridiculous and the food is alright at best. Service is what is really lacking. Manager is grouchy and twice I've heard her absolutely screaming at her staff. Last visit most servers seemed new or undertrained and I was informed that the only two people who I've had good experiences with are leaving and probably because of the above mentioned. Dont blame them and I wont be back.

Sadly our experience was quite negative. Our food was great, no problems there. Our server however was very inadequate. She didn't know the menu or the prices, we had to ask other servers for napkins, and salad dressing. We also had to get up and ask for takeout containers and our bill. On top of all this, our server was continuously picking at her neck while talking to us moments after touching our food. We've been to other angels diner locations and have never had service like this.

Disappointing. Placed an order over the phone and was told 20 mins, went in after 20 mins and was told the order was received but not put in and that I would have to wait another 20 mins. When I finally got our food and got home we discovered our gravy was not included, which I specifically asked to make sure it was, and the chicken and fish were both dry and tough to eat. This is all on top of what I think bare basic pub food at fairly high price point. Only reason I give two stars is the server was super nice and apologetic for the issues but everything else was 1 star. Don't think we will be going back.

Large servings make Angel's an oasis among breakfast joints, most of which skimp on quantity in an effort to give the appearance of quality. It manages to do both, paired with a classic retro/50's atmosphere. The service can be disappointingly slow sometimes, though. I realise busy mornings mean delays, but a table seated after mine shouldn't have their orders taken and delivered before I've even gotten my drinks. I don't know if it's a case of regular customers getting preferential treatment or what, but this happens almost every time we go for breakfast, and it's (somewhat ironically) the main reason we don't go more often.

My Girlfriend & I visited Angels Diner 8th Feb 2020 for supposedly a quick breakfast , we were ushered to a corner of the diner fairly promptly then waited for 6/7 minutes for any kind of service, meanwhile two ladies arrived ,were given menus and a drink but still not any appearance of any servers for us , i managed to whip a couple of menus from the table next to us and after a further 5 minutes I approached a member of passing staff who said someone would arrive shortly , at this point the two ladies were served with their order.Finally we eventually got service from a girl who seemed very put out by us asking to order food , the order arrived by in fair time by this miserable member of staff, no one asked how the food was (just as well because sausages were not very nice, the bacon was near burned and the egg whites were still runny .....Definitely not recommended unless you have a bit of time on your hands, you like miserable staff and don't mind nasty food.

They take their deli seriously too: there are dozens of smoked meat roasts in.the glass display case waiting to be opened. The double pork chops I ordered had perfect grill marks and was juicy when sliced. French fries were crispy and malt vinegar was brought to me promptly when asked. Eggs under the blanket, (scrambled eggs with a slice of cheese on top) bacon, potatoes without the seasoning and a side of honey mustard. That's my idea of a delicious breakfast. Angel's is a classic for me in Guelph. Have been frequenting this restaurant, primarily for breakfast fare, for nearly 30 years. It remains as it always has been: a solid choice for value for money. The food is decent enough, but nothing particularly special otherwise. I'm always willing to accept that quality can suffer a bit if they're giving me a good quantity of the food, and in that respect Angel's does not disappoint. The breakfast plates are quite hefty, while being extremely reasonably priced, and I never leave hungry. Service tends to be extremely quick as well so thumbs up there. Will continue to enjoy my Angel's breakfasts as long as they remain in business.

Will never eat there again! The food was awful and that is being generous. I paid $2.50 for bottomless coffee that after my first cup remained empty the rest of my meal. They have downsized the portions but not the price. As usual the toast had little to no butter on it. The home fries had no taste whatsoever. My salt shaker had dried egg yoke on it so who knows when they were last cleaned. Also stood in line waiting while I could clearly see 5 booths empty. All in all this was the worst experience I have had there. The place is definitely going down hill. With this said I need to find another breakfast place to eat. I’m sure there were farm animals that ate better than me today!

Angel's Diner has a c1960-ish atmosphere to it which gives a bright, cheery air inside the clean, well maintained restaurant. And at this location two servers were hopping to keep the breakfast crowd comfortable and pleasantly entertained. I have been to two other Angel's locations and all have that similar vibe to them which makes visiting something akin to coming 'home' where you can rest assured there will be no unwelci surprises. Today's visit I opted for the breakfast special at $6.99 which was two eggs, ham slices and breakfast potatoes plus a bottomless coffee. The courteous, friendly and attentive service was a nice touch, as usual. For a quick easy fix breakfast, or any other meal throughout the day, you'll do well to drop by. And when they say, "No rush..." they mean, don't rush to leave, unless you do need to get to work. It's relaxed here - just no sleep overs, please!

First of all, the server was fine, no complaints about her. But the food was so so, I had a Reuben Sandwich on special yesterday and the soup. Chicken and rice soup was a mediocre melange with a pasty texture and little flavour or look appeal. The sandwich came with fries from frozen that had surrendered any pretence of flavour or crispness. Too much meat (which was delicious) on the Reuben and not enough sauerkraut. Diner style decor was fine, but I would have sat at a table instead of the booth, if there were any. Should have gone to the A&W!

A must-go-to restaurant any time of the day, Guelph's Angel's Diner is a welcome respite with its' friendly servers and bright and quirky contemporary 50s/60s decor. The food is served quickly, tasty, generous in size and reasonably priced. By far the best franchise location ever visited and another reason to bring us back to the City.

This place might be a decent breakfast joint but they serve some nasty dinners, even by Guelph diner standards. Gravy is disgusting and they cover everything on your plate, so say No to gravy. Expect some very poor quality meat whether you’re ordering a burger, chicken or schnitzel. Even the fries are bad.... how do you mess up frozen fries. Soup is 2 day old Campbell’s and veggies are of the cheap frozen bagged variety. Anything other than a simple breakfast or smoked meat sandwich will leave you feeling ill and full of regret. They obviously don’t make anything, a mixed appetizer platter was purely frozen stuff that was deep fried and served to us. Prices are too high for the rock bottom quality of food served here. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Good food in a really nice space! Loved the 50s vibe of this place and there's an extensive menu that's sure to have something for everyone's brunch cravings. The service was rushed though, which can be a bit off-putting if you're trying to have a relaxed time, but overall it was fine.

Good food and good value. Portions are large and options are plentiful. My only complaint is that you still have to get up and go cash yourself out. Not having the handheld machines like every other restaurant , ends your dining experience amateurishly.
