Excellent experience. One of our first indoor meals in a very long time. Every aspect of precautions were clearly in place, as well as a very friendly and welcoming staff. We stopped for a stay over on route to Montreal. Needed some fast food, but not as fast as the regular branded chain chicken restaurant, so walking around we found Swiss Chalet 2min from our hotel. Glad we did as the meal was tasty and the service great. Well worth the take-out.

We visited today on our way from Toronto to Belleville. We should have gone to Bowmanville. The manager was buzzing around with his mask below his nose. Many of the other staff in the kitchen followed suit and one had their mask hanging off their ear. One of the delivery guys was in the kitchen wearing no mask. This is a health hazard. All customers were wearing theirs appropriately. They need a refresher on proper mask hygiene. Hopefully their hand cleaning is better...

If our granddaughter had not been with us I would have complained my husband's chicken was fine he asked for very well cooked and it was I did not and mine was not only on the cool side but very moist and under cooked also it doesn't matter how many chip you put on my plate cold is still cold. We had to wait 20 mins for this I am not sure why. I know we were late arriving at 8:20 but the restaurant didn't close until 10pm.

Ordered the regular chicken dinner and perogies. Looked in bag before getting in car and no perogies so went back in. Got the perogies and went home. Got home and there was no sour cream for the perogies and because I had to wait for them to be cooked my French fries with my meal were soggy. Guy at front who took orders was very nice about everything. All I have to say is....check your bag to make sure everything is in there you ordered before leaving and make sure you own a dog who will eat anything.

We went to Swiss Chalet this evening for my birthday for the first time ever the service was terrible it took for ever for our orders to come to the table when they did my husband's fries were cold and my daughter waited longer for a plate of fries than the rest of us waited for a whole meal, the bills were handed to us without asking if we wanted dessert which my daughter did, but the fiasco of paying was nerve racking we all paid separately and it took us at least a half hour to pay because the waitress kept walking away to do something else. I will order online and have it delivered but I will not go back to the resturaunt for a sit down meal

This is a review for the Harvey's side of the restaurant. I had ordered one of their meal-sized meat lovers poutine. There were two people in front of me in line waiting to get their burgers ready. I didn't mind that, even though I could see that my poutine was already done before their burgers. What bothered me the most was that the girl at the front was busy with a new roll of the receipt paper than to serve me my poutine. Seriously. I could see my poutine on that back shelf. Just bring it over to me a few feet so I can eat it while it's still hot. Highly disappointed. I do not see myself going here anytime in the future. ❌

This location specifically is my families favorite. There are multiple servers here that are legitimate world class servers Food is Swiss chalet... Not high end but always great value for price point. This location has always been very consistent for us, we have been disappointed dining at other locations many times.

Quick and accurate service in the take out area. The staff were friendly and polite. There is ample parking, but be aware that you can’t enter the restaurant’s parking lot going westbound (unless you disobey the signs and make an illegal u-turn at the four-way stop).

We had some of the fastest, friendliest service I've ever experienced when we arrived with our baby for a quick dinner halfway through a long trip out to visit family. Our waitress took our order super fast and brought the food out within minutes, so we were able to eat and get back on the road again without our daughter making a peep (she was awake the whole time, watching how it's done!) Thank you so much for making it a smooth, quick visit, we truly appreciate the personal touch.

I ordered a shrimp and quarter chicken for pickup, when I returned home I opened up the meal and realized there wasn't any shrimp included. I called the restaurant immediately, it took 4 calls to finally get through to someone. I explained the situation and was immediately put on hold to wait for a manager. When the manager picked up he told me it was very busy there, took my name and phone number and said I could call another time for shrimp. So I wad charged for food I never received, mistakes happen but I am very unsatisfied with the reaction to that mistake.

New store classic franchise...in the takeout section there are several things that are available to get that are not on the overhead menu oddly enough..have to ask...I do love their food, but they seem to make a lot of mistakes when getting takeout so always double check your order before leaving... nothing more frustrating than getting home only to find you're missing something Important and you gotta decide do I go back or call to get extra next time

Usually Swiss Chalet is a family favorite for dinner always best chicken going but on New Years Day took Mom for her Birthday her favourite place for a meal it wasn't even all that busy. Took an hour before they took our food order. Nobody came around asking about drink refills. When the food came same great tasting as usual Mom wanted vinegar didn't show up till half way through the meal. No chicken fingers available for my niece. Same great food as always but very slow poor service was a little disappointing on this special occasion.

Order $140 dinner, order comes but is missing the sauces and gravy, corn from the special, call to advise and we're told they will get this out as soon as possible, 1 1/2 hour later it arrives while the wife is on the phone and yes, the manager hangs up on her stating they have no time to handle our complaint. It has gotten really expensive over the years and really stingy on serving sizes. The manager kept coming out from his hole - like a snake, staring and glaring unhappily at all the customers while we ate. Very unnerving. I wont go to this location again and based on the cost, it will be a long time before I take my family for swiss chalet again. The food was as expected - chicken and fries. Beware - in the past, I have ordered takeout from this location and they put curry spices on the rice and in the dipping sauce, and the fries were rock hard and disgusting! This location is a bit of a rebellious wild child in the swiss chalet family - you just never know what you will end up getting or what your experience will be like! I recommend the other location on taunton road instead. It's a more consistent dining experience.

Haven't eaten at Swiss Chalet in years. My wife picked some up one evening for dinner. I quickly remembered why I haven't eaten from there in years!! Their chicken is as rubbery and slimy as I remember. Never had their ribs until that night......they we're inedible! Not one drop of sauce on them but they give you 2 small "rib sauce" packets for a large rack of ribs. Besides that the meat itself was putrid!! It was horrible tasting and dry. A sweet gesture from my dear wife turned into a terrible dinner and a night of her apologizing to me for it......as if it was HER fault. How they've grown to 200 locations is beyond me and mind-boggling.

We were going to have dinner at the North Bay Swiss Chalet around 6:45 this evening. It was not at all busy, about half of the tables were empty, but we stood waiting to be acknowledged, along with a number of other patrons, for quite some time. Finally, after the long wait, someone asked how many were in our party of two. She then said to wait a moment while she cleaned the table. She then proceeded to clean several more tables, while we stood waiting, then walked by us into the kitchen saying she would be with us in a moment. Meanwhile, the three people behind us walked out. We too left after spending about 15 to 20 minutes waiting to be seated at the half empty restaurant. We went to Mr. Pancho instead where both the service and food was excellent.

Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to the outstanding staff and management at Swiss Chalet Gander. Heather, Donald and Angie (and the rest of the staff) are exceptional representatives of this restaurant company. Our son has anaphylactic allergies to dairy and nuts, and Swiss Chalet’s excellent allergy program means it’s the ONLY restaurant we know about that he can safely eat at in Canada. On our first visit about a month ago, the staff accommodated over our 30 hockey players and parents with less than 2 hours notice, allowing our son to safely eat in a restaurant with his hockey team for the 1st time ever. Our server Heather and manager Don were exceptional and attentive hosts, and our family and team were sincerely grateful. On our 2nd visit yesterday, we were lucky to be served by Heather again, and she remembered our son’s allergy AND HIS ORDER from over a month ago! We are so impressed and thankful to these wonderful people for their outstanding professionalism and incredible customer service. The food was, as always, excellent and the service was authentic, genuine, and first rate. We highly recommend the Gander Swiss Chalet/Harvey’s; exceptional people should be recognized and celebrated for the value they add to their patrons and their company. My son said he doesn’t remember his first Swiss Chalet meal, but that he will never forget this meal, because of the service. Thank you from us all. ????????❤️

Friendly service. It's an average swiss chalet. Food is good but not stellar, it's fairly standard fair. I enjoy coming here when I want food that I won't feel terrible after eating it. I think ether the person getting the online orders or the person that makes the food should be fired. I think out of the 50 times I have orderd food only 14 times they didn't forget anything. Last Sunday they forget my chicken in my meal and the cheese in the poutine this week we order again we had 15 credit. They forgot the chicken in the poutine.

What a great place to eat. We were in the miramichi on our honeymoon and decided to stop in. A young man by the name of julien waited on us. He gave us a free order of mini donuts for a honeymoon treat. Both he and the rest of the staff just made our night. The food was incredible. Tasty, fresh and hot. Good job guys!!!

My family and I went to this location to celebrate my birthday. We ordered coffee and got amazing coffee, but no spoon to stir the coffee with. We told the waitress she didn't bring a spoon which she responded to with "I know." So we asked for a spoon again... We had to ask three times for a spoon to stir our coffee and eventually used our forks so the coffee wouldn't get cold. I ordered a roast sandwich which I got without the au jus sauce despite wanting said sauce. My meal came and the waitress was about to leave when I stopped her and asked "doesn't this come with au jus?" She said yes and went to get it. I don't feel I should have to ask for each part of my meal separately. This waitress didn't write anything down and she clearly had issues remembering despite the establishment being quite empty while we were there. The food quality was amazing. The chef's did a phenomenal job and this is the only reason the star rating is to high. The quality of service was attrocious. If I were rating just the quality of food, they would have gotten 5 stars hands down. The service was worthy of maybe one star if that. The chef's deserve a raise as they went above and beyond. Everything was cooked perfectly. I even had them make parmissian fries (they're new) into a poutine for me which is apparently unheard of. They were really good and I'd totally recommend trying a parmissian fry poutine. This location isn't bad. This was the first time I saw this waitress, so she could be new and just learning how to do things, but if that's the case the management may want to think carefully about training their staff members properly to avoid this type of occurance again. Next time we go, I may seriously consider getting it to go to avoid such attrocious service and I definitely will NOT go there again on a special occasion as the service was frustrating to say the least.

That aside food was made fast and was perfectly warm as well food seems to have been prepared fresh as well. Chicken is still good.

The waitresses are fantastic here ordered the roast beef with my mum the other day and our server asked if we had it before (which we hadn't) and she let us know they changed the supplier and the beef isn't as fatty and is a lot better for you. My only complaint is I ordered take out and the man who delivered was rude the container the chicken was in was cracked at the bottom meaning the chicken wasn't all that hot. The man also just took my change as a tip rather then handing me back my money for him to actually receive a tip which was extremely rude and that was the first take out ordered I received so I would recommend just eating in.

I would not give one star at all if given the choice!! Horrible delivery service, wait time and rude delivery driver. when we finally got our meals... 70$ later i may add... Ir was stone cold. There was bones.... Just bones... With no meat on my hubbys ribs and my chicken container was broken open on bottom. My kids meals were inedible and felt like they were in a fridge. I called to complain and all i get offered is a new meal or 30$ credit for next time from a very rude manager. So here we are 70$ later with dissapointed kids and hopes the next meal arriving is at least warm at 20 to 8 pm. Awesome!!! :( ruined our night... Never ever again. Update**** the order was messed up 3 more times!! Including smooshed upside down pizza in kids meal, missing parts to meals and uncooked chicken. Once again.... Never again.

After 28hr power outage we decided to go out for dinner. Service was good, food came fairly quickly but no chalet sauce brought to table even though we had 6 chicken and rib meals. Customers shouldn't have to chase down a server for an iconic staple to the meal. Other than that, a salad was missing but removed from the bill. Still an enjoyable experience and will return.

$55 for a family feast. Could of got a bigger chicken from Wal-mart for $7.97. Food got here and it was freezing cold, got very little portions of mashed potato (was less than a scoop). Got a little salad that could only feed 1 person, the chicken was still pink in the inside. We got charged for 4 sparkling lemonades that we didn't get so we had to call them. They still didn't do anything about the missing drinks, they just told us they ran out of it and they didn't even say sorry (this was the manager on the phone). Made my 1 year old child gag. Placed order through Mobile App at 4:30 pm to be ready for 5:30pm. Husband went in to let them know we were waiting at 5:45 and they said it would be another 10 minutes. I went into restaurant at 6:30pm to get money back after waiting two hours. No apologies, nothing. Received a message the NEXT DAY at 2:30pm saying my order would be out in a minute. Very poorly run, zero customer service skills. Tried phoning the restaurant multiple times at the number listed on the web, and the number no longer works. Ridiculous.

Unfortunately this was not a great visit. We got seasoned fries that were awful. They were over cooked, old, cold and dried out. We also got bowl of broccoli soup that for $5.49 was extremely small and really had no flavor as it was watery. If the bowl (small) was that much I couldn't imagine the cup size for $4.99...anyways not having lunch there again!

I called ahead to order so I could pick it up later. When I arrived, I paid. However, I was not given my food right away. I thought it wasn't ready. But I only got my food 10 minutes later from the hot bags behind the counter after I asked where my food was! How long would I have sat there waiting had I not said anything?! Good food, terrible service at take out. My review a month ago; 5 stars: "We ordered takeout quarter white chicken dinners, a hamburger with bacon and spinach dip. Everything was very fresh and just like it would taste in the restaurant! I'm only sorry about not taking a photo of it all, but I guess it smelled so good that I forgot."

so my bf and I came in to Swiss Chalet for the first time last night and we shared the 3 course dinner and we got the dark meat dinner, when it arrived I gave him a portion of the chicken and I noticed it was really pink.. he had already ate most of his not noticing but I notified my server so she said she was getting them to bring a new piece and once that one came out it was still very pink.. so I said just give me a white meat piece.. and once again pink.. so the "manager" I'm assuming told me that the kitchen said " it's not under cooked or raw its just the pigmentation.." which is a big fat lie.. I've been in the food business I've had slow cooked chicken or roasted chicken from Walmart and never has it been pink. Also to add to it she basically reassured my bf that it's fine to eat and low and behold I was up all night with my bf while he was sicker than a dog.. took to emergency because he said it was worse and different from other food poising. Everything else was fine the perogies and pie and my server was amazing but customers beware if they try to tell you its the pigment please do not eat that chicken. please don't make the same mistake as we did

Let's give credit where credit is due. The food is top notch so the cooks are doing a fantastic job. The management does a great job with customer service when it hits the fan. However, they need new delivery people. I specifically asked to not have contactless delivery so that my food was not stolen and when I got a notice online that my food was delivered, none of my motion detection lights were on. It took two hours on the phone complaining to head office before they just gave up and returned my money. That said, the food is not good enough for the price to keep ordering from this joke of a delivery service. I might consider doing take away, but in 2021, they should hire people who can actually do their job.

Chicken wings were too spicy. They offered to make me something else but id have to pay for the wings, which I couldn't eat. The restaurant is cold and there's no hot water in the bathroom to wash hands. The ribs were really good though. This is the 4th time we've ordered at this location and found orders to be wrong and food missing. It's like they don't even check if what they're making is what was actually ordered. A poutine with gravy side order was delivered as fries and chalet sauce, and no side was delivered with a quarter chicken dinner when fries were ordered. Disappointing. If you order from here I strongly suggest you be physically present so you can check to see if you actually get what you are paying for.

This is a must stop for my family when visiting the 1000 Islands/Kingston area. They recently renovated the place so the decor is very modern with some whimsy touches. And what can I say about that Swiss Chalet chicken with Chalet sauce, but yum!! A Canadian classic.????????

Takeout is usually quick, even when it's busy. The servers are attentive enough to customers and accommodate your requests. I have had various food but typically stick to the chicken. I am not a fan of the ribs- I find them undercooked and often pink when cutting them apart. The chicken is always flavorful and delicious. The salads for takeout taste fresh and are never soggy. I really enjoy the Parmesan fries over the regular ones as I find the regular fries to be quite dry and unappealing. I'm not a big fan of the new buns they have, however to each his own. I loved the shrimp and rice they have- the sauce is amazing and brings a tangy and savory flavor to the shrimp. Overall: quick for takeout. Often the food is pretty flavorful and enjoyable. Dining in is a pleasurable experience. Would definetly return again.

I like the idea of having a Harvey's and a Swiss. But right out of the gate, the parking lot is too small. If you can get over that, then it's not a bag place if your in a rush and want something other than McD or BK. It's nice to have a choice of restaurant but I feel as though Swiss chalet should be it's own or at least have table service. My favorite is the Buffalo chicken wrap but for some reason they don't seem to make the same every time. It's always a gamble and half the time I just unwrap and rewrap it myself. I was rather put off by the dirty dishes on the tables. For whatever reason, they want you to leave your mess on the table. If you can get some consistency and a cleaner dining room, I will give 5 star.

I visited Swiss Chalet along with family members including my three grandkids. I had the half chicken with a baked potato. The food quality was good and the service was fast considering we were a table of six. Because of covid, our server wore a mask and I felt safe with their cleaning procedures. As we were leaving, our server brought us a whole bunch of mini chocolate bars given that it was Halloween Eve.

I order online and chose the gravy and they put swiss sauce on the order instead so i called in told them what happened. i was transferred to another person without being told then i had to re-explain, was put on hold many times without being asked before and again i was being transferred without being told to a manger and they said whats your issue in a very rude tone they said what do you want us to do about it call the call center. Not to mention that our fries for our 2 meals that i ordered were cold and raw in the middle. This is the third time that i have had my order messed up online and will never be going to this restaurant or ordering from them again. Especially after being treated like trash and nor will i recommend this place to anyone and i spent 40.00 on 2 meals that were msinly inedible. Horrible customer service.

We had never been to this location before but we were pleasantly surprised! The staff were very friendly and the food was yummy. They're working on a bit of a reduced menu, but that didn't seem to affect anything. We were very happy with our experience and we will definitely be back.

Went there and ordered a combo to go and they forgot the fries. Called to get the issue resolved and unfortunately didn't have the bill or the receipt number so they refused to help me out. Putting the fries in an order to go seems like a pretty basic task. Very disappointed and wouldn't recommend this location due to their lack of attention to detail and poor customer service. Worst experience I've ever had with a franchise restaurant. Double check your order before you go!

Mediocre first experience at best. Fries were soggy and chicken was greasy to start and by the end very dry. Swiss chalet sauce saved the meal from being awful. They forgot to bring half of my friends meal, who forgets a chicken? Also almost got over charged for a wrong meal on the bill.

For your information! This review is from a teenager's perspective. Three words: Delicious Chicken Dinners. Alright, I can't just sum this place up with 3 words. It's deserving of a full review. The decor is fasionable and modern-ish, there are twists during certain holidays (Like the festive christmas specials) and the special "Chalet Sauce"... It's just... MMMMM! ???? So delicious! Overall, it is definitely a place to go to, and let me just say, I suggest trying the chicken, at least once.

Two times this has happened ...I've ordered over the phone to pick up and when I've gotten there, they say the food isn't ready after telling me that it would be ready 20-30 min from when I called to order. Once I get there I wait....and wait... and wait and then finally all the ditzzy workers realize the food is and has been sitting in the heater bags behind the take out counter for over 15 min while new walk-in customers are ordering and receiving their food before me. Terrible service. Definitely NOT the Swiss chalet location to go to . Unless you like rubbery fries and cold chicken. I guess this is what happens when a huge corporation like CARA food buys them out . Service goes way down. To bad it's not like the good old days when Swiss Chalet was managed better and they actually cared about their customers and the customer service they provide. Sad

Placed my order through the app and was told to pick up at 5:22pm. I arrived at 5:30pm and waited outside in a line. When I got in I was told it wouldn’t be ready for another 5 minutes that they would bring it outside for me. Outside I go and 15 minutes later I had to go back in only to find no one there. Ring the bell and there is no response from anyone. Another 5 minutes and the girl comes back and sees me and tells me they are just waiting for the fries. 10 minutes later I FINALLY get my order. Get home and the fries are undercooked and soggy. Never again will this store get my business.

I came here with my family a little after 8 PM. The restaurant hours started they closed at 9, but the employees were already closing up the place, a woman who worked there was very hesitant to seat us. Kept telling us that they were closing at 9, and kept saying we could order take out if we wanted to eat there, we informed her that we were hoping to eat inside but if we couldn't we'd just find somewhere else to eat. She kept repeating over and over that they close at 9, and that we would have to leave at that time even though we had an hour and were planning on leaving way before 9. I've been to this restaurant many times with my family, and I've never been told that the only way I was able to eat the food there is if i order take out and then leave the building. We were standing waiting to be seated for a bit when it wasn't busy, there were only a couple of other people in the restaurant eating as well, but they were eating quickly as they could because the person serving us all kept stating they closed at 9 and we needed to leave. One of the kids meals wasn't cooked all the way through, the chicken was still bloody, and raw. It took us 15 minutes to get a hold of anyone to tell them the chicken wasn't cooked. We didnt want anything out of it, we were just disappointed, our server informed us we were wrong after she glanced at our plate and went to tell the cook. She came back again, informing us we were wrong and then said if anyone experiences food poisoning to call the restaurant but refused to give us her name. We were rushed out of a restaurant that decided to close an hour earlier than they should have, we received raw food as well. No one gave us the managers contact number or even let us speak to someone higher up. The worst service I've ever received and I've worked in the food industry as a server. It was just rude and really unnecessary.
