I've had good experiences here. I've had not great experiences here. They really do make up for mistakes. Send out extra food if they blunder. Rather than discard food, they came back to our table with a container that held an omelette they made wrong and offered for us to take it home. But to the owner who reads these and hasn't commented on my ever changing reviews. Please lower the price of juice. It's bloody highway robbery and just unfair. $4.45 for a little bottle of juice is absolutely insulting!!! You know we all see cases of the same juice at grocery stores right? 300-400% markup. Geez Bro.

The food is still good. That being said, the experience is not. Cafeteria Style works when you have the space of a cafeteria. Not in a small place such as Flips. They are still charging what a sit-down meal would cost, but are just not providing the service. Breakfast for 2 was still $30. You go in, and are directed to a cash, to order and pay for your meal, then you're given an empty cup to make your own coffee, and a number. You then have to hunt for your own table, and many times others are just standing around waiting for tables to open up, so there's confusion, and you get parties of 2 sitting at tables for 4. Just makes for a disappointing experience first thing in the morning. There are many other breakfast options in Brampton that are just as good food wise, and provide a much better experience. The attitude of the owner clearly probes they do not understand what service is. Don't walk away from this place.... RUN!

I've come to this place many times and loved it. but the last time i came the customer service was the worst. i cant eat eggs and they refused to put the eggs that come with the meal on a separate plate so i could at least give the eggs i payed for to my son. (this is a very typical request in a restaurant)and when i asked to not have the eggs touching the other things on my plate the cook gave me a really snarky reply this is a huge disappointment because ive been coming here for years and i brought my out of town guests so they could have a nice time. i will not be returning

I have just had the worst customer experience here at Flips. And what's more, the management treated the situation with such blatant disregard. I have been coming to Flips since high school, over 15 years now, and today I had the absolutely worse customer experience I have ever had. I am completely disappointed with the response received from the management. I travelled from Mississauga today and brought a business associate here for a meal. After waiting quite sometime for our order and having to go ask about it, our food was finally brought to our table. However my omlete looked as if it was made from left overs (which I am almost certain they would never do) and thrown on the plate. I was quite uncomfortable with the look of the food and requested a fresh omelet (which I have observed them make in response to other dissatisfied requests in the past years I have been coming). Instead, the server returned to me telling me the kitchen said it could not be "fixed". I asked her to please let the kitchen know, I would like a fresh omlete as I was not comfortable with the way the food looked. She left and returned to tell me she was told it would be the same result and that is because the egg was messed up when it was flipped. They would not change it and would give me my money back. Smh...seriously!? As she was speaking with me, another customer's omlete was delivered to the table next to ours and it was beautifully whole and well presented. I made mention and all i received was that she was getting my refund. I have been a Flips fan and cannot tell you how many people I have brought here and recommended over the years. My experience today has left me wondering if there was a specific reason why we were treated so poorly and with such disregard. While my experience has been out of the norm, it was significant enough for me to write about it. Shame on you Flips! You are a Brampton institution and this was really beneath you.

They have changed Flips. It use to be one of our favourite breakfast places. You order and pay for your stuff before you sit down. The prices have gone up.You have to take your stuff to your table. Everything but the hot food. The coffee was lukewarm. Most containers of coffee were empty and it was horrible. I could not drink it. We will not go back there again.

First time to eat here. Appreciated the food portion, way much better than Mc Donald's. cons is you have to get up and get your own coffee refill and the coffee is not hot enough. They should have a server going around ins for coffee refill. It's hard to get up, leave your plate and squeeze yourself out of the very tight area.

Just stopped in for my “Country Harvest breakfast” and Meaghan was incredible. She was quick and polite! Even when I was accidentally short changed on my sausage(2 instead of 3) Lol. She went and grabbed me 3 MORE sausages!!! Lol. I have been going to flips for over 8 years now. When it comes to a hearty meal for an extremely fair price, you can’t beat them. I like that their plates are large and oval. The amount of food you get, would never fit on your typical round plate. Yet it’s still filled to the edges. I am especially addicted to the country harvest! There are so many comments, regarding their service. Why don’t we clear things up, once and for all. This place has been here forever! Since before this part of Brampton became so developed. Therefore, I am sure the zoning wouldn’t permit them to expand in size and they’re limited parking spaces, comes with the territory. They have tried a self-service approach and it was not the greatest. I too, am extremely happy that they have gone back to the full-service menu. This allows you to enjoy the service of being waited on. Their waitress lineup consists of younger ladies who are always very pleasant and ready to serve! I have been here hundreds of times and I ALWAYS have an amazing experience. Oh yeah! If you happen to be lucky enough, the cook sometimes sends out sample pancakes to a table. We have been on the receiving end of one of these generous offers, more than once and they’re DELICIOUS!!!

Food was good, service was great! Only issue was some bad...chunky ???? creamers for our coffee. Our lovely server quickly brought us new coffee and creamers but I asked why don't you use large size creamers with an expiration date? I would love if the owners would make the switch from individual creamers which are single use plastics and toxic and don't have expiration dates to jugs or large cartons of cream and milk. Surely it is cheaper and make less garbage??? It's a great way to make a small change towards becoming environmentally friendly and responsible. Can't wait to go back for those yummy pancakes ????????

The breakfast food here is abundant and very delicious. I have yet to encounter a restaurant with better, larger sausages and bacon for a very cheap price. They recently started accepting debit or credit since January 3017 which is an added bonus due to the fact that many do not carry cash around. Great place to go to any time of the day.

For instance, the meal that I ordered included two eggs, I wanted one scrambled and one over easy and they would not permit this might or change. I used to come here all the time and just recently visited while in town for the day. I have to say I’m very disappointed in the changes. From full service to very little service, pouring your own coffee, etc. Food was mediocre but not terrible; soggy toast (probably sat in the window too long) and the top of my yogurt cup was dirty. I know it’s just breakfast food but there should still be a level of pride. There are ceiling tiles missing which is an eyesore and food safety concern. I really hope the owners are paying the servers a bit more because I don’t personally think the service warrants an 18-20% tip anymore. I have worked in a breakfast restaurant and it is a fast-paced and high-energy environment where the servers work hard for their tips. I also noticed a pretty rude response to another review from the owner. Not really how you should be responding to people who are trying to give you feedback. Yeah you “serve breakfast” but if that’s the attitude you have towards your own establishment, then how do you expect your customers to feel about it?

CORRECTION, This fine establishment sucks and yes, it is directed to Chris because all he does is hide in the back. Prices are ridiculous considering it is cafeteria style. I would understand if I had a server, which by the way, all look miserable and have no sense of emotion. On top of that, all negative reviews are commented back with rude and disrespectful responses. Last but not least, why do you think they're always hiring? 365 of the year that sign is posted. Must say something about the management or are you too oblivious to see the reality of your garbage system...

Gone way downhill since my last visit ages ago. Staff were rude from the moment we walked in. We hadnt been here since moving from brampton 5 Years ago but were excited to have moved back because this was our go to place. We (apparently) foolishly just sat down at a table (as was the case last time we were here) and were quite rudely told we needed to order at the front. No problem but lose the attitude. Portions are huge as usual but the food is mediocre at best and staff continued to be rude throughout our visit.

my family of 5 started coming a few months ago and found it to be a great place to get yummy food with big portions...recently they changed the way they do business and I can honestly say we won't be back unless they change it back..and I won't give any referrals to go there. Now it's impersonal..pay before you sit, serve yourself for coffee and teas, carry your drinks to the table (no tray) and personally I feel the clientele has gone down. This used to be my fave breakfast place. Then the changes happened. Prices increased and quality went down slightly. Owner seems defensive and unwilling to take any constructive criticism. They are constantly advertising that they are hiring, which hints at a high turnover of staff (prob due to poor management) the servers are sweet but look a little stressed. And the no pached egg thing is odd. Especially when you serve eggs Benedict. The wait staff are always apologizing for something. The young lady apologized for the super small waffles and said she didn’t understand why they were now serving them like this. I won’t go back. My last meal there was $95 for me and my family. A little bit much for breakfast. Stacy Lee’s on McLaughlin does a pretty mean breakfast. And reasonably priced!! My new regular breakfast spot.

Interesting setup. Coffee and water are self-serve. On a Saturday the place is too crowded to navigate from your table to the coffee dispensary. The service was slow, as we witnessed two other customers receive their food before us, even though they had arrived much later. The high-light would be the food, which was good and served in large portions (on a serving plate).

Food was good but they have changed this restaurant into a cafeteria style place where you order at a counter and take a number to your table. Very odd system that does not seem to work. I went out for breakfast expecting to be served, instead I had to wait in line at a counter to order, wait in a line for my tea and take a number to my table. In addition I wanted eggs benedict but when I went to order it they do not offer poached eggs anymore. Why even have 2 types of benedict if you don't offer poached eggs? That is what eggs benedict is, poached eggs on english muffin with hollandaise sauce. If you are going with someone and paying on separate bills you order separately, pay separately, are on the same number but your food does not come at the same time. My friend was a good way through her food by the time I got mine. Very disappointed in how Flips has changed. Save yourself the time and frustration and go to AJ's the food is just as good (if not better), cheaper and always great service!

I visited opening time on a Saturday morning. In the order: Ground beef in the style of Steak with eggs Kids breakfast (pancakes and fruits) Kids breakfast (eggs, sausages, whole wheat toast) Sausage and Egg, with their home fries (sliced potatoes with seasoning YUM!!!) We ordered as soon as we went in. Our food came piping hot and came soooo quickly. The cook made us some extra pancakes because the kids were with us. I found that to be confusing because we ALWAYS go with the children and RARELY do they bring out free pancakes. I'm not asking for free pancakes all the time, just be honest that me made extra pancakes by accident. All the food tasted good, very hot and filling. The bathrooms, whenever I've used it, has always been clean and smells fresh, despite what goes down in there. Lol. Always a repeat destination.

Flips food is amazing and not expensive since you get 2 meals in one order! But just recently the service has change. The servers are not as good as the old ones and now you have to buy your meal ahead and hope that when your food is ready a table is free. I got lucky and got a table just shortly before my food came out. You only get one coffee then you have to pay for more. Again the food is the best in Brampton but service is starting to go down. Please change back to how you were Flips before you go out of business!

I have been going to flips atleast 3 times a month since 2013. I have recommended it to many of my friends and family. However, since the changes earlier this year; I have only been there a couple of times and for good reason. The service has gone downhill and the food isn't quite the same, all the while the prices have seen an increase. I have to now purchase my food by standing in a line and then placing my order. I have to make my own coffee in a overcrowded corner and then find my own seat while I wait for my food. The owner must realise that this isn't just the food industry he is in; it is the food SERVICE industry. I have since found John family restaurant up Hurontario and made it my go to breakfast place in brampton. It is the same price, but the service and food is grade A! I can see that the owner is commenting on everyones review and accusing the bad reviews of being a conspiracy against him/her. It is very immature to do this. You should be able to take criticism and use it to improve your operation.

Not the same place as last fall, either ownership has changed or the kitchen staff has. Don't order the eggs Benedict because it's made with mayonnaise and tastes awful. Staff changes and they have a learning curve but when the menu shrinks and key items don't taste the same something isn't right. I won't come back here in the future and we used to come here at least once a month.

Im pretty sure the owners changed. I've been coming to flip for over 10 years. Now everything is so different. I love change but some things are a bit odd. Pro: I like that we can us debit & credit, ordering your food before sitting down, and free refills. Con: High school boys in the kitchen, no hairnets, customer service is completely gone, cashiers look very upset, no proper air circulation- extremely hot, the weekday and weekend plans prices- I spent 30 bucks on two meals, and having to find your own table.

Flips is a good brunch spot. I miss the old days of the servers taking your order - there is something refreshing about that level of service (now you order at the counter).. but aside from that. Food is great. Portions are massive AF. Love it.

If I could give this place less than one star I would. Mu family used to come here to have a nice family breakfast but since management and business strategy has changed it is a terrible experience. Food is mediocre at best service is absolutely terrible and prices are Double what they used to be. Whoever decided that this type of business strategy would be successful needs to re-look at their business plan because with all the competition out there today this definitely is not a good thing for flips. The change to cafeteria style is very disappointing. You order at the front, watch for a table you need to snag by yourself (hopefully nobody will grab it before you), get your own coffee, utensils, etc. If something is missing from the central drink area (the dark coffee and sugar were, at least at that moment) you need to point it out. On top of the people waiting to order at the terminals and waiting for a table, people keep walking back and forth to get drink refills. No server is in charge of your table. Not at all a diner experience. The food is still good, but the experience isn't. It was my favorite breakfast place but I can't recommend it anymore.

Service was not great today. I dont know if they have changed management. Waiting for the dine in food was ridiculously long. And seems they prioritizing the take outs.. We have been waiting for the food for almost 30 mins and nothings coming out for dine ins.. one couple said they have been waiting for almost an hour, there is a father and child waiting for an hour as per them.. then I noticed that the persons after us who just ordered take out got their food first.. literraly ordered after us not picking up as they have already placed before us.. so we started approaching the staff to ask what is happening to dine in as I noticed most of us dont have the food yet and all take outs are come and go. Finally take out ordrs are done this time, dine in food are coming out one by one this time.. there was no apology form anyone for the waiting time. Looks like if you can not wait you can leave sort of.. we got our food for alomst 45 mins but others was like more than that.. I hope the staff from the from and the back have more communication or they were just prioritizing takes out because that what almost all of us felt today. Hope this will change as we love coming in this location.

I had the worst experience today at this place. I went in to order take out and shay took my order. I specially informed her that I want the chicken sandwich times 2 and with turkey bacon and to have it put on the side. We went over this order about two times just to make sure she had it right. I get home to find my sandwich has pork bacon in it and my turkey bacon on the side. I’m now annoyed and upset because we went over this at the store and it’s now wrong. My boyfriend and I drive back to the store to inform them the order is incorrect. shay tried to tell me what I got is what I ordered which is very much wrong because it’s against my religion to eat pork. I had also informed them of this and simply wanted the food made over. Shay went to the back and spoke with the chef named George who told her to refund us back our money. He will not be making another order, I asked if he was the manager she said she thinks so, so I asked to speak with him because that is not right, I never wanted my money back I wanted my food corrected. George said he doesn’t know anything and just works there. I asked who the manager was and no one knew who that was. The restaurant was packed with so many people with no manager on site. I have worked in customer service for years and as a consumer I have never felt this type of disrespect in my life. No one cared or tried to make the situation better I would never go back here again. I will be calling everyday until I know that action was taken against the employees unprofessionalism. They do not care about their customers here.

I’ve gone there for years and love it but no it’s different. You have to order than the food is brought your table opposed to having a server. I didn’t like how the eggs Benedict was almost $16 and the hollandaise sauce was giving on the side clearly not made fresh per order. I was just shocked nothing seems the same. I won’t return. $40 for 2 people is insane compared to what I used to pay there.

My family and I ordered through Uber Eats we had not had flips restaurant since the covid-19 so we were craving and decided to try it out getting it delivered. It came so quickly and everything was still hot to eat. Portions were just same as eating in restaurant which are soo big. No disappointments at all. Family and I are soo full we even had extras to share with others. Will definately order again in the future. Keep up the great work Flips. Highly recommend! Best breakfast place to eat in Brampton 100%.

The food is still excellent, but the service is... odd. You walk in, order your food, and then wait for a table. So everybody is lined up in front of the cash standing around other people trying to enjoy. It isnt fantastic. The possibility exists that your food will be ready before you actually get a table. It's a good place to eat, but the organization is bad. Also reading other review, the ownership seems quite defensive to people critiquing their system, which is weird, but not as weird as the system itself.

Went to flips Sunday Dec. 11th at 956am. 3 couples ahead of us waiting. We had no issues. No one tend to us. 15 minutes later another couple walks in and the server writes their name down. We mentioned to her we've been waiting and she didn't put our name down. She then said "there's nothing she can do for that" service sucks and we didn't even get a seat yet. Wow. Walked right out!

So happy with the food and the service. Ordered chocolate chip pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausages and bacon. Portions are huge! Pancakes were fluffy, moist and just the right amount of chocolate chips. Sausages are juicy and delicious, bacon was not too crispy and made just the way I like. Also came with home fries that had a great seasoning. Very reasonable price. Definitely recommend and will definitely be coming back.

I have been going to Flips for breakfast for the past few years and I've always been happy with their service. I went this morning for the first time since all the new changes have been made and the level of service is completely different. Before, the servers would greet you with a smile when you walked through the door. This morning, the servers behind the counter didn't even smile or say hello and just stared at me while I decided what to order. The food and their portions are still the same though. When I go to a restaurant, not only do I expect the food to be good, but I expect the level of service to be as well and that was not the case this morning. Maybe the servers just had an "off" day, but as someone representing the restaurant, servers shouldn't have any "off" days. Also, this morning, my boyfriend asked for mayo and the server pointed to the corner by the counter and was basically told to get it himself. The atmosphere in the restaurant has completely changed and unfortunately, I will not be coming back.

Today was a mistake and waist of time and money between not being able to take a simple order that was wrong 3 times to bacon that was hard as the table and smelt of grease that literally made me sick they are normally good but today was such poor food that we could not even think of eating !!! I wish I could up load a pitcher of the bacon it would make everyone sick to know they let food go out like that never again will we go there olny because no one took the time to fix the problem with 0 regard for peoples health and money Sorry guys but today was the worst in years

It's okay, but really expensive for what you get. Portions are large but eggs are cheap & easy to make (so the cost isn't represented there), the place is overcrowded, and you have to place your order then sit with your number to be served at a table. You get your own coffee from the machine. I don't know--Maybe I didn't order their best menu item and that's why I found it underwhelming. I've experienced some pretty terrible breakfast diners and at least their homefries were good, but the food is simple and doesn't justify the cost in my opinion.

Our family used to come here for breakfast however with the new change in management or business strategy we now hate it. The self serve idea is terrible, it has affected service and overall quality. Went mid week at 9am. The restaurant had a steady flow of patrons both dine in and takeout. We were greeted and seated within moments of entering. Server took coffee orders and brought them quickly. Ordered the spinach omelette with rye, side of fruits and chocolate chip pancakes, sausages, eggs, and the homefries. The food took a little longer than expected to be tabled but when we received it the portion sizes were huge! The food was fresh and tasty. Only downside of the visit was that they only take cash...weird..but of course they have an ATM onsite $2 fee... and the server did not mention the portion sizes were large so my other party ordered two pancakes and extra home fries. We brought home most of the order lol. Will definitely go back with cash in hand and portion size in mind.

Highly overpriced basic breakfast place. Not the greatest service either. They saw that I was ready to order but let me sit there for 10 min before I had to walk up to the counter. Their choice of processed box chicken strips and waffle is not what you would want on your waffle. Eat it seperately, there's no balance in taste. The orange juice was $4.49!!! My entire break fast cost $23. Save some money and hassle and go to Sunset Grill or somewhere else.

So disappointed, ordered my eggs poached:"sorry" we don't poach the eggs. Q. What about eggs Benedict? A. We don't do poached. Q. How can you call it Eggs Benedict without poaching the eggs. No response $16.05 for breakfast and had to get my own coffee.... Really. That said the food I had was good sized portion and tasty. I've never been to a restaurant that doesn't poach your eggs.

I just moved back to Brampton after being away for two years, and this was the first place I had to make a stop! As per usual, it did not disappoint. We ordered takeout due to the the restaurant being closed for dine in, but even with takeout the food was still great. Their portions are so large that it’s pretty much two breakfasts, at least for me, and they’re so reasonably priced! My go tos are the home fries, so crispy and tasty, and the chocolate chip pancakes. Lots of restaurants advertise or market that they’re known for pancakes or offer all kinds of crazy toppings to hide how dry their pancakes are, but Flips just gives you this perfect, bigger than your head pancake every time. They also threw in a few extra, free pancakes, which I thought was a nice treat since it’s been so long since I’ve been there! Be mindful that during the pandemic they are cash only, which is understandable considering they are a small business. I noticed they use UberEats and DoorDash though as well, if you’re anti-cash. However, those services take such a large percentage that I would personally prefer to just be cash ready and pick up my food myself. They do have an ATM to take out cash too. Anyways, I’m so glad to see that Flips has remained consistent throughout the last several years. It’s definitely my go to breakfast spot now that I’m back in Brampton, and you’ll probably find me there way more often than you should.

First time here on a Saturday morning. Went around 10am no line up not busy but around thirty mins later it got full. The food was pretty good...Friend ordered steak and eggs - said it was really good and flavourful, another ordered the chicken breast and eggs with chocolate chip pancakes - said it was also very good, I had the bacon and eggs with a slice of French toast with chocolate chips - pretty good...but can't really mess up bacon and eggs. The home fries were nice and crispy, those were good. Large portions, plates were like platters....whole order ended up coming up to $100 that's with tip....a bit pricey for breakfast....but their steak and eggs and chicken and eggs were cheaper than I've seen anywhere else - $17.

Food and drink is not the problem here - but the prices have been consistently increasing and service decreasing. Today we waited 30+ mins for our omlettes...while the kitchen did not even know of our order. That's what happens when there's no servers to pay attention to customers, everything is order and self-serve and payments have already been made upfront. Customers are even expected to get their own coffee and condiments. I enjoy their food but I am never going back just because of how disorganized the place is. UPDATE: Asked for the manager on the way out to provide feedback, and staff said he won't come out. I asked them to double check, which they did, and manager still didn't. He provided his card instead to be left a voicemail or email. I doubt they're interested in any feedback...

Was going to order breakfast from Flips today as I had great experiences there for the past 15 years. Was horrified and frankly insulted when I saw how much they increased their prices since the pandemic. $26.95 for 5 sides??? By the time I would add delivery, courier tip, and tax, it would cost about $35 for 1 person for 1 breakfast. Firstly, the same combo at Flips was about $10 cheaper 2 years ago. Big price hike. Second, nearby breakfast eateries are about 40 - 50% cheaper. And thirdly, if I ordered for all 5 family members, it would have cost about $160. Rediculous!! So now the greed and odasity of Flips has lost our business permanently. It's too bad because they were a great breakfast house back in the day.

Went to Flips today for the first time since they changed their menu and ordering system. Menu is much smaller. I ordered the country harvest breakfast and was shocked by how much the price increased. It used to be $8.95 and now it's $12.95? You can still find their old menu prices online if you do a search (which i did just to be sure). That is a HUGE increase for absolutely no reason. They also no longer have fruit filling on the side for pancakes. Not going to be coming back here.

No frills breakfast at a premium price. I'd read a lot of reviews and articles recommending Flips as a quality Brampton breakfast spot, so I was looking forward to trying it out. The first time I came in it was too packed to get a table so I went elsewhere. This time however, I managed to get a table and ordered the Montana ground beef breakfast with a coffee - self serve, watered down stuff. My total came to over $20, which is way more expensive than I've got elsewhere for more food. The ground beef was way too salty, and no butter or jam was available for my pancake and toast. There were honey packets over by the coffee so I used those, but I can't believe that for $20 they can't give me a couple jam packets at my table. It's also a small space and very noisy - don't go there if you'd like to eat in relative quiet. I would not recommend going here, as there are better options nearby, such as John's up main street. The one redeeming feature of this place was that the staff seemed nice.

Great breakfast spot! Flips is loved by people living in the area and hosts a lot of regular customers. After eating a classic breakfast here, I can see why. This restaurant takes a different approach to the dining experience: you can seat yourself and walk to the counter to place your order, then take a numbered placard for your table so your order makes it to you. Therefore, the coffee is self-serve and you can make it as desired. While the food was great quality and affordable, options were less than I’d expected. My girlfriend was hoping to order a breakfast dish with salmon, but unlike most restaurants, Flips doesn’t have any breakfast dishes with salmon such as Eggs Florentine or Eggs Benedict, which was a small disappointment. Aside from this, would happily return.

I found hair in my egg and when I approached the server she told me the breakfast is half done so I'm still responsible for the bill. She didn't offer to have a new egg made for me or apologize on behalf on the kitchen. She was rude and clearly thought I put the hair in the egg although it was inside the egg not on top. I would recommend that people check their food before eating because although it's good, you might be eating someone's hair.

I was very disappointed when my family visited Flips yesterday. I always looked forward to when we went there for breakfast. However, although the food and the portion sizes were great, we will not be returning again due to the change to the cafeteria style service. The restaurant is way too small for this type of service. Having to wait for a table was not a positive experience. Visitors who arrived after us "budded" into front of us to grab a table. I foresee this being an a large issue when the restaurant is super busy. We were there early in the morning when it is not as busy and we had to wait for a table while our food was already ready. Also, sitting down to a dirty table waiting for it to be cleared is a definite turn off. Finally contrary to what management has been saying here, everyone around us was not happy or impressed with the cafeteria style service. We were going out for a nice family breakfast - if we wanted something quick we would have gone to McDonalds. Atleast there is no shortage of space and tables there! UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO OWNERS' COMMENTS: I do not disagree with the world is changing. My honest review was that this change was not for the better. I started my review stating that the food and portion sizes were great and that I truly enjoyed visiting Flips. I do not want to lounge around for hours for breakfast - I have a toddler so that would never happen. But that is also one of the reasons this self serve style does not work. Fighting with other groups who arrive after us for a table while handling a high chair, a diaper bag etc just doesn't work for us. And the only reason I compared you to McDonalds was because you told other reviewers to go there in previous reviews. You need to accept that this change has upset some of your long term and loyal customers - there were half a dozen customers around us that were discussing how they did not like the change. Why do you feel the need to belittle customers that do speak up about changes? I like your food but your negative attitude towards reviewers is another reason we won't be back. By the way, we went to Johns just up the street last weekend and the food is just as good as yours and the table service was excellent.

I heard Flips serves up a very tasty all day breakfast no matter what you pick from the menu and my friends weren't lying. I had the toasted Western and fried potatoes. It was the best toasted Western I have ever had. My son had a Spanish omelette that looked very tasty as well and it was huge. The fried potatoes were excellent too. The waitress was very friendly and the service was fast. I strongly recommend Flips. I will be going back again soon!

Glad Flips has reverted back to its OLD way of serving/taking your order at the table (compared to the newer way they recently tried - where you order at the front cash, and serve your own coffee/tea etc). Food is always amazing here, but I had stopped going because of the format - so now that it's back to normal, I will be coming back more. Eggs amazing, bacon large, crisp, thick. Awesome coffee. Servers nice and friendly. Bacon/Eggs/Toast/Potatoes, and coffee cost me $14.90. Worth it! (Recently went to Cora's - cost was $19 for the same type of meal, and was horrible). Flips is the best breakfast in town!

Since WFH - I start very early and often times work thru lunch - not having time to make a breakfast or lunch, so I order from Flips. They never disappoint in flavor (my eggs taste like eggs :)) the portion size is just right and the value for my $$ is fair. This morning I decided I didn't want the homefries (watching my carbs) and I placed my order saying no home fries please. The order for the item is $15.95 - I was willing to pay the full price forgoing a portion of the order. The nice gentleman called me to say - tell him next time what he can substitute for me. "IF I cant eat it today I can save it for tomorrow". This kind of kindness, and thoughtful thinking is why I order from them at least once a week. I have never had the chance to dine in as they are always full, but that is just the reason why I could never get it, because of the customer service they offer. Thank you Flips!

Very disappointing. Went to Flips this morning for the first time. We were only a party of 3 and there were several empty tables. Not one server made eye contact even though several walked right past us many times. Ended up walking out and won't return or recommend it to anyone else. The breakfast and lunch IS ALWAYS good...large portions and hot. Only con is they only accept cash and the space is fairly small (like if u have a wheelchair u probably couldn't come during rush hours, same with a stroller, u would have to just have the baby is the car seat portion) . The cons are not reason for me to not go...i love flipps and bring my baby in there with me ALĹLLLL the time, no biggie.

I am huge on breakfast, and this place does not disappoint! The portions are massive, so much that you could split one breakfast between two people. Not only are the potions huge, they're delicious. The eggs are always perfectly cooked and the toast isn't too buttery! The only downside is the price. Between my boyfriend and I, we ended up spending $40. Although when my best friend and I went we only spent $20 because we shared a meal. I think this place could improve with the option of smaller portions and cheaper prices.

I understand the changes made make things for a faster rotation of people but the customer service gets thrown out the window. Your reviews have gone down within the last 2 months from regulars not liking the new system. With the price I'm paying for 3 meals($50) I shouldn't have to refill my own coffee. Flips restaurant offers a wide range of breakfast items and beverages. Great service and good food are a staple in this establishment. Pricing is fair and acceptable for the quantity of food your receiving. Would definitely recommend

This use to be my favourite place for breakfast But after the service I received last Saturday I won’t be back to spend my money on an over priced breakfast anymore! The kicker is I asked to speak to the manager I was told they couldn’t provide his first name Was told to email him and he would get back to me right away.Which he didn’t. If the owner doesn’t have the time to discuss valid health concerns going on in his restaurant then I have no business eating in this establishment! If you like to take the chance of getting illnesses then this is the place for you to eat! Me on the other hand will be calling public health! Next time a customer reaches out to you maybe you should spend a few moments of your time to hear their valid complaint!

I wouldnt even give this place any stars!!! I came here with my husband and 8 month old son. I had brought a stroller in and the staff immediately approached me with a stunned look on their face like I had dared to bring a stroller in. I ask for a seat and they told me that I wasn't allowed to eat here because of the stroller. I was shocked! I asked why not it is a family establishment and should cater to young children or babies. She told me "no". I was so upset I said how then do you get people with wheelchairs to eat here. She said it's too small and refused to serve us. I couldn't believe the blatant disrespect. Do not eat it here so Disgusting their service. I went down the street to sunset grill that day and they were amazing! They were shocked when I told them the story of what happened to me there at pitifull Flips.

I came here and expected a good service and even better food, like I’ve experienced in the past. But it’s safe to say this isn’t the same flips that was open before the pandemic. My and my girlfriend BOTH noticed hair in our dishes and not to mention we saw a BUG on her bowl of fruits. When mentioned to the server she didn’t offer anything, just an apology “I’m sorry” after this i asked if there was something she could do because that’s unacceptable. She brought this to her managers attention where he then decided it would be a great idea to give us a (10% off) 6.00 dollar discount…how bizarre. I told the server that this is unacceptable as we Didn’t even FINISH OUR PLATES. She then said she would go “talk to her manager once again”, after doing so the manager offered a 15 PERCENT DISCOUNT INSTEAD OF 10 PERCENT. At this point we got fed up, paid the bill and left. This is not cool, we went there to enjoy a meal that had HAIR & A BUG and the most we got was 15 percent off. What a joke.

This was my favourite place. I'd wait hours for a table. However it's terrible now. Edit: So then have a separate area for pick up. Your whole change of service is not quicker, it's stressful and just like every other place in Brampton. Tbh it smacks of gives us your money, now you're not our problem. I'd gladly leave a tip because I doubt your servers are getting paid more. Was quite disappointed today in management and their poor customer service skills. I have been a reoccurring customer for the past few years and have always thoroughly enjoyed my food until today. They forgot apart of my breakfast (the eggs) and I had asked if the eggs were coming on a separate plate, the server hesitated and said she would go ask the kitchen. She comes back to let me know that the kitchen had forgot my eggs - not an issue, things happen. We had all ordered either French toast, waffles, or pancakes and she didn’t even bother to bring syrup or butter NOR did she offer when she placed everything down on the table. I had asked her for coffee, syrup, butter, and hot sauce which she said she would go get. I watched her as she walked to the counter just to stand around with her coworkers. The restaurant was not busy at all. There was a total of three tables - one of which was ours, and our server only had two (us and another) Condiments should be on the table BEFORE the food. I had to get up and ask for condiments since she decided to stare at the wall while we were waiting. Whoever trains their FOH staff does a terrible job. Among the three of us at the table, two of us had found hair in our food along with what was definitely some sort of bug in my fruit. Sometimes things happen and that’s totally okay, what wasn’t okay was their poor way of acknowledging a complaint and their resolution skills to have guests leave happy. We told our server what had happened and she apologized and said she would go speak to management - ONLY BECAUSE WE ASKED HER TO. Upon her return, she said the most they could do was take $6 off our bill which was an absolute joke. We told her that the $6 off the bill was not a resolution and she proceeded to ask management again. This time, she came back and said they could take an additional $3 off the bill. Personally, I found it quite pathetic that the manager themselves couldn’t AT LEAST come to the table to apologize but would continue to send a young sixteen year old girl to speak on their behalf. As someone who has worked in the service industry for 6+ years, worked as management and quite literally grew up in a restaurant because of family ownership: this was NOT acceptable. I understand that COVID has set a lot of businesses back, money is tight, and that they’re a small family owned business but as someone who was apart of a family owned business, I know myself that customer service and catering to your guests is the most important thing. Both of our meals should have been comped, if not - at least one. This is common practice & protocol at restaurants. INCLUDING small owned businesses. Flips definitely does not care about their clientele which is quite sad as it WAS one of the few good breakfast places in Brampton.

This place is probably the best place in Brampton to get breakfast. I usually just get the basic scrambled eggs, potatoes, and toast. But each of these elements is so freaking delicious. I particularly love their potatoes which are seasoned perfectly. The portions are also generous. I am usually stuffed after eating here. The service is top notch as well.

Absolutely HATE the new set up!!! I went on a Tuesday and felt sooo rushed to order, I hate to see what it's going to be like on a weekend. One of there new set ups is you now get your drinks at the end of the counter, where you have to make your coffee and if you want a refill you have to get up and get the yourself. I think there old way was just fine, so what you had to wait when it was busy, the food is definitely worth the wait.

We had been going to this place for years regularly. Recent changes has stopped us. It is now a cafeteria style breakfast place like in a mall. You must go to a cashier, purchase food, sit at a table "IF YOU'RE LUCKY TO FIND A TABLE" and not a dirty one. If no table is available you are S.O.L. and must stand aside with your food in tow. Get your own coffee, condiments. Reminds me of McDonalds but with less management of the front of the house. They say in their condescending responses to their customers reviews that they were asked to give this lack of service. What a joke. This is so they can try and just pump out more food. The end result will be a empty restaurant. 2 blocks north of them on Main St. at Fisherman Drive is long time breakfast place called "JOHNS" that has comparable food and prices, far nicer decor, more seats and open until 10pm with a liquor licence to boot and they have NO problem with quick service. Flips or should we say Flops new ordering system has failed them and is resulting in all the bad reviews. Food was good but their lack of managing service staff will be their demise. Breakfast food is cheap and can easily be made at home by anyone. It is the service of it why people go. Hopefully they will realize this and just spend a bit of money to hire good Mature service staff and dump the cafeteria. If you are looking for your customers in the meantime they are at Johns. Looking forward to your rude reply that no one will care about. Go to Denny's, haha. Save your business, shut up with the uneducated replies and DO something instead ORRR don't.

THE WORST TAKE OUT EXPERIENCE EVER!!! Called in to my meal to go. First time I called it rang for about 30s or more, and went to voicemail. I hung up and called again. This time someone picked up the phone and it sounded Ike it was placed on the counter of the kitchen. I kept yelling “ hello...hello...HELLO!!!!”....and nothing. This went on for over 17 minutes as I was driving to the restaurant. I hang up and call be just to get a busy signal. Once I get to the restaurant I tell the waitress about it. And instead of apologizing, she blames the kitchen staff. So I ended up waiting...for my food to be ready another 10 minutes. I was not impressed at all.

My own plate was $14.95 (2 eggs, 4 sausage, 4 bacon, home fries) + $1.00 for the side of eggs. Compared to another restaurant which has 4 eggs, sausage, bacon, home fries *and* toast for $13.95. To get the same meal here at Flips, you'd have to get the My Breakfast 5 Sides for $17.95. You be the judge when it comes to prices. This is my first time here. And as you can see in the picture, I was surprised with how big the serving sizes are. The place at a Saturday afternoon (~11AM) is pretty packed. It's definitely a popular place that thankfully had a couple more spots for myself and my partner to try out One of the things that stood out to me was that the food definitely came out relatively quickly, especially compared to other places I've been to. I love the home fries and especially the sausages. (Over easy) eggs are eggs and as such they're automatically delicious to me. I had a bit of an issue with my bacon however, such that it was a bit hard to chew into. It's possible that it was just how it was made. But if it ain't chewy or crunchy, then what was it...? When it comes to coffee, you can get one free refill with a meal order. Just so the coffee lovers know. I didn't get the chance to use the washroom here so I can't comment on that. Will revise review when I come back. Overall delicious but has its faults in my opinion. It's worthwhile to go but there definitely are cheaper breakfast diners.

Went here with my fiancee and her family for a birthday breakfast. Big mistake. We waited about 40 minutes for food before we had to go check on with the staff. Turns out the waitress forgot to enter the order. She had even left for the end of her shift! The remaining staff informed us we would have to wait for our order and we said that's fine as we would have to wait anywhere we go at that point. Food came, and the staff did not check in on us at all. One thing for the original waitress to forget to put I. The order but it's a whole other thing for the rest of the staff to forget about us to. They didn't even look our way, we had to get up and go to them to request napkins and jam and a coffee fill-up. Seems there is a culture of bad service at this restaurant. The place wasn't even packed so it's not like they were too busy. On top of this all they didn't even offer anything to apologize for the bad service. I wouldn't go here for a regular breakfast ever, let alone one to celebrate an occasion.

The food and the portions are amazing. Their peameal bacon and home fries are off the hook. Also, the sample pancake they recently had us try was also very good. This is one of the best breakfast places in the GTA for sure. Now to address the elephant in the room: I went to flips before and after the changes they made to their service. To be honest the changes that they have made to their system is not all that complicated. You go in place an order, find a table and sit wait. While I understand that some people find that rather complicated a lot of the complaints I have seen online and in person are beyond ridiculous. The food and the portions are amazing. Their peameal bacons and home fries are off the hook. Also, the sample pancake they recently had us try was also very good. I think the one down fall in this system is that it requires attention, patience and independence which people between the ages 14-30 lack now a days. I feel like I have some helpful tips to help the owner, workers and customers. 1. Have a host. This host can simply be there to help customers. Give them a break down of how everything works and help people who have already ordered find a seat. 2. Have instructions written down somewhere that breaks down how the procedure works now. 3. TIPS! Please tip your workers. Especially with all the whining and crying that they have to put up with since customers cannot figure it out. 4. Go back to the old system. Your ratings have taken a huge nose dive since you made the changes in the first place. Your customers overwhelmingly hate it ( I do not) and your workers are getting treated like trash. Either you perfect the system you run or back to the old system. Other than that like I said I really do like and enjoy this place. Do not let the whiny and negative reviews keep you away. Most of these kids who are complaining about pouring their own cups of coffee seem to forget that their grandparents had to walk a mile or two for a bucket of water just to survive.

Been there a couple of times with my kids. Kid friendly, convenient, lots of parking, large food portions. Order less and split because it's huge portions. Staff is friendly. I mean try being friendly to people they are friendly back. It works both ways. Home fries are so yum. Food is fresh and service quick. People be warned, read the reviews that this place has had recently, and look at how the management responds, you can tell what kind of people they are. I have never been so disappointed with a restaurant in my life. The degree of customer service that I have received today is unparalleled to any customer service experience I’ve had in my life. This is what happened. I have ordered from Flips in the past and I’ve liked their food so I decided to order from them again. Usually when I order for pick-up I want to see what’s on their menu (as does any other customer) so I google the name of the restaurant and see what information I can find about their menu. Flips does not have a website so the best information there is about their menu is the pictures of it that other customers have posted on various review sites. I have used these menus in the past to order from them without any issues. Today when I called to order, I ordered the “Sausage and Eggs” meal which came with a flip side for my husband. Then I also ordered “The Flip Deal” which came with two sides for myself. When I told the girl on the phone that I wanted the Flip Deal she said “did you want it with two sides or three”. I said I want it with two sides and told her that the sides I wanted were home fries and fresh fruit. She said ok and told me my total was 19.00 and some cents. I said ok and my husband went to pick up the food. When my husband got the food and went in the car to look at it he called me to ask if I had only ordered homefries and fruits because he felt that the rest of my meal was missing. I told him no I ordered the flip deal which comes with pancakes, eggs and toast and two sides. He told me that the rest of those items weren’t there. So I called Flip to find out what happened. While on the phone I explained to the girl that I ordered the flip deal and that I only got the two sides of homefries and fruits. She told me that is the flip deal is no longer offered and she said it’s basically the same thing as “breakfast my way” with four sides. I said but that is not what I ordered and that is not what I saw on the menu online. She said that menu is outdated and posted by customers. I said well can I get the additional two items and pay the difference since I’ve already paid for the two sides. She said she will speak to her manager and let me know. She called me back a few minutes later and said that her manager said that they are not at fault because they have no affiliations with the menus posted online and they would not be able to charge me the difference. I said are you kidding me? When I called to order and I said that I wanted “the flip deal” NO ONE TOLD ME THAT IT WAS NO LONGER OFFERED! Why is that I can’t be charged the difference for the additional items that I want? She said because you’re ordering a completely different meal. She said you came and picked it up didn’t you wonder why the price was less, you can’t just come and pick up a meal then say you got the wrong order. I said the price was over 19.00 how am I supposed to know that the price was less? As per the menu I saw that was the price. The price was not the issue. I just wanted the additional items that I thought was included in my order, and I was going to pay for it as well. She said there’s nothing she can do it was the decision of management to not let me pay the difference. I told her I was completely disgusted with their customer service and will never be coming back there again. P.S. whenever they get a review they don't like, their comments are always to attack the person claiming that their review is false, and telling them to go to Denny's or Mcdonals instead.

Huge portions, good food and friendly service. This is always a great place to take the family for breakfast. Giant chocolate chip pancakes are always good for the kids. If you don't eat pork they have turkey sausages and bacon as options as well. Seating is limited and its seat yourself so be prepared to wait. It's not too pricey either.

Wow! This place sure has gone down hill. You now order, and seat yourself. You make your coffee or tea at a tiny and very crowded part of the counter and then choose your own spot. No table service. They give you water to drink in flimsy plastic cups. It's way too tiny for this "cafeteria" style breakfast. The food is decent, and they do give large portions, but you're no longer able to order french fries anymore. And apparently they're very slim on condiments - as they don't carry vinegar anymore... Such a shame. I used to love this place.

Used to be the best place for breakfast have lived in the area for 20+ years. Placed an order for pick up on a Saturday. Got home and noticed things were wrong and missing. Called them and they were busy so they took my number down and stated they would call me when it slows down. I never got a call back and so I called the following Saturday and they asked me to send an email to them. It's not the same service as it used to have. Call people back when you tell them you would.

I have always loved this place and I'm glad they went back to the old service. The portions are huge but the prices seem to be getting higher too. I would prefer a smaller portion for a lower price. Love the food and service. Home fries and chocolate chip pancakes are the best!

So Flips use to be the go to spot for a great diner breakfast. Since turning it to a McDonald's style self serve restaurant it's become much of a turn off. I popped in to get some breakfast sides : turkey sausage, pork sausage, bacon and grilled tomatoes. Now that order shouldn't be hard. What I received was my burnt turkey sausage, bacon and pork sausage all jammed into one container. Why would you put turkey and pork sausage together? There are reasons people order turkey, maybe the don't eat pork..hmmm The sauce from the grilled tomatoes was settled at the bottom of the plastic bag. None in the container with the actual tomatoes. Then there was a surprise container with one pancake I never ordered. Now had they read the chit properly they would have known. Now somewhere in Brampton there is a person craving a pancake that they did ordered. (Sorry whoever you are.) Now I called to explain my dissatisfaction but of course no one answers their phone. (Funny cause the sign out front says call for pick up orders..smh) When you do try to ask them in person to speak to a manager, there is never one onsite. Now I'd normally give a pass due to volume but not this time. It's 1pm on a Saturday. NO EXCUSES!!. Hello Owner.... You clearly didn't read the whole review, but I thank you for your response. I'll come in this weekend and speak to one of you personally instead of emailing. Thanks

My family and I have been going to Flips for years. It's THE place to go for breakfast in Brampton. The food is amazing and the portions are extremely generous. In reading some of these other reviews, you'll see a few negative ones regarding the "changes" the restaurant has made recently. Yes, it's a bit more self serve now but the food is still the same quality and the staff there is very friendly. We've never had a problem there. The place is usually very busy and not very big. They've made changes to try and speed up the service. Personally, the changes don't bother me. Having to refill a cup of coffee myself is no big deal. And, like I've said, the staff is very friendly and they bring your meal to your table. The reason this restaurant is busy is that the food is amazing and there is no place is Brampton where you'll get a better breakfast. The positives of this restaurant, far outweigh the "changes" that some reviewers are criticizing.

Went here for brunch on Saturday. You can seat yourself so don't wait for anyone to approach you. The portions are huge & the taste is amazing. The service was alright, but it was probably a busy day for them.

Not too fancy just excellent food. Good quality and good preparation. You should order first then look for a table. It gets pretty busy. You may think It's a little expensive considering how plain the food is but the quality is really good. Quick tip: If your order contains hash browns ask them to make them crispy. You'll be glad you did.

Today is Tuesday December 28th, 2021. I just left Flipps restaurant at 575 Main Street North, in Brampton, very unhappy. I was gifted a gift card some time ago. I decided to redeem it today only to be informed by the cashier that they no longer take gift cards. When asked how can a gift card expire when money was already exchanged, I was then told that this was a very old promotion that is no longer honoured. Again I asked how can a gift card expire? I proceeded to request a word with the manager. The response was, "their is no manager, only the cooks in the kitchen and they can't help you". When I asked for a telephone number for the manager the young lady said there is no manager to speak with and I would have to send an email. I left the establishment annoyed. I called the telephone number of the restaurant and a young man answered. I asked to speak with a manager or get a number to speak with one directly. He asked if I was the woman who came in with the gift card. As soon as I said yes he hung up the phone in my ears. I called right back and when he answered I told him that was not nice, I must have gotten disconnected. He yelled he can't help me, that's what the email is for, so send an email if I have an issue. He hung up again. I find this service very disturbing. I have been to this restaurant before and received good service so I find it strange. Has the service gone to the dogs? Whoever was in charge of the restaurant at the time (because there must be someone superior), could have had the decency to speak with me face to face in a suitable manner. This is sad. Can someone please explain to me how gift cards expire????? Please provide your email address. Thank you

I had gone in on Friday for breakfast with my son and sister. We had amazing service.our waiter was fantastic. The portion of food was just enough. Thank you so much for your service. Potatos are amazing. Love their seasoning. They had some vegan options which was nice, as per it's an old school breakfast restaurant. Excellent service. Huge portions, hence the more expencive price. One meal can feed two people.

Flips is great. I haven't been back there for quite some time. I am goading hasn't changed. The food is great, large portions which I can't finish and glad the home fries are still the same. Alicia did a great job. She was polite, helpful, kind and even took a couple of pictures of wifey and I because it was her birthday. Don't change anything Flips. Great prices, huge portions and cozy atmosphere. Sometimes there can be a line (like most breakfast spots) but the food is well worth the wait! *Pro tip*: If it's busy, go to the counter and let one of the attendants know your name and the number of people you have in your party.

Great quality breakfast food and believe it or not amazing burgers. This was THE breakfast place before they all started cropping up all over the place. Where they lost me years ago though was when they stopped poaching the eggs for their eggs benedict. Why? I could imagine no earthly reason why a place essentially specializing in eggs chose to no longer prepare them poached.

Best advertisement for Stacey lees ever! I've been coming here for years and I put up with the cramped tables and long line because when you got a table you could relax and order. That has all changed! Now if it's busy you still have to wait for a table but now you are holding your food because no table has become available. The owner seems to think this is what the customer wants. It works at a place like Panera bread because they are a lot bigger and not everyone stays to eat. Who orders bacon and eggs to go? No one! So the tables are always full. The only benefit here is for the owner, he/she gets all the orders completed faster but the customer could potentially spend the same amount of time as the old system, only they get your money at the beginning of the process. About the food, it is still very good but its costs a lot more now, I don't mean a lot of money it costs the customers more stress. The food prices have gone up but that is understandable. I researched the previous reviews very carefully before writing mine and you can see a very clear line of when they changed their system. Before the only complaints were about the food and various other complaints like any other popular restaurant. All other reviews were very positive! And that just shows you how good the food is! The only down side to this restaurant before was it's small size, that was EVERYONES previous complaint. Because it is small the only waiting you did was for a table. The owner has missed the mark big time here, renovating to make a bigger dinner would mean more people sitting and faster ordering. This new system is just a cheap cop out to tell everyone 'this is what the customers were asking for'. They were not, I can honestly speak for everyone that if you just renovated or moved to a bigger place your reviews would not be in the toilet right now! I'm glad you tried something new, but listen to your customers now, half of them end with 'never coming here again'. Though I don't think I'll ever go again not because the system has changed but because the owner is so stubborn on this system that everyone seems to hate. Please please just renovate or move! I want to enjoy your food again! In the mean while, I'll be at Stacey lees.
