Visited from out of town. Not much open elsewhere. We were happy to be seated right away and had fantastic service (Chris was so helpful and positive). Live music was a bit loud, but suited the cosy atmosphere. Kimchi tacos and charcuterie were delicious.

Went there for the first time last night, it was an excellent experience. The Prix Fixe option allows for two people to share an appetizer, main course, and dessert. By share I mean we had to order the same dishes, but we still got our own plates of each. All of the food was excellent and very high quality! We got the greens to start, the chicken supreme for the main course, and two desserts: the Crème brûlée and the Crêpe. The Crêpe was unbelievable. The food and service was great, the set only thing that might stop you is the price. Most dishes are expensive as far as restaurants in the area go, but for very good reason. You definitely get what you pay for. Dinner for two + tax + an extra dessert + 15% tip came to roughly $75.00. You can find the menu with individual prices online.

We celebrated our company Christmas party there last Saturday night and I can't say enough good things. The food was absolutely incredible ( we had a buffet style for 60 people) . There was tons to eat for everyone and the feedback was 5 stars all the way. Bravo to your Chef and staff. Very nice place. Delicious beef short rib and artisanal greens salad. Would've appreciated a heads-up that both courses would be served at the same time, but delicious nonetheless. Enjoyed the lemon curd and pumpkin cheesecakes. We'll go back again and make sure we're there for the entire live music performance.

Sorry to say the plate I got was terrible. Ask for a burger without the buns and with greens... I got not even a sample of dry ground beef, tasteless, and unappetizing. They didn't charge me for it, which I'm thankful for the gesture, but the menu options and food has to improve Had also sangría which was delightful, just next time use fresh fruit instead of frozen.

A friend of mine recommended trying Capers for lunch. I was not disappointed. If you love good food and a lovely atmosphere, I also recommend giving this place a try. The staff was wonderful, which is also worth mentioning. Pricing is a bit on the higher end of the spectrum but, in my opinion, totally worth it. I will be returning and have been recommending others do the same :)

Capers has become a go-to for me and my wife. The menu changes fairly often, the food is unfailingly good (sometimes excellent), and the ambiance is enjoyable. Capers doesn't quite rank with the best of the county or what you might find in Toronto, though the prices approach what you would pay in either. Sometimes the food is a little too salty or not seasoned enough, sometimes the protein dishes arent cooked quite to the right level. I've found on more than one occasion that they successfully create interesting food pairings (their tuna ceviche with patty pan squash salad has a nice flavor and complementing textures, and the seared salmon with curry lentil salad is full of interesting flavors). I would like to see more adventurous food pairings and less "safe" ones (steak frites, BBQ chicken with potato salad, though that's not too say that both dishes weren't enjoyable). I would consider the Lark their nearest competitor, and I think you'll find that Capers is more reasonably priced, that the food is better and that the ambiance is less... yuppy? (though please go to the Lark if for nothing other than to admire their interior design). In short you won't be disappointed, and Belleville needs more restaurants like Capers.

Obsessed with this place. The burger is so juicy, the sauce is unique. It melts in your mouth. The truffle fries are so tasty! To top it off, the servers are absolute class.

I had never went to Capers until a couple weeks ago and honestly it checks off all the boxes for me. Its comfy, the staff is incredibly pleasant and the food was really good. I would definitely recommend this to anyone for any occasion. It's a little small so dont try and bring 20 people but great for groups between 1 and 5.

I made a reservation 30 minutes before we arrived to the place. Our table was ready. The waitress told us they have a jazz festival so they are very busy. But we still get the menu right away. She took the drink order right away and she was checking on us couple of times if we were ready to order. The food came in a very descent time even though they had a party of 70. She even apologise when she brought the food because the wait we told her it was absolutely ok. I waited much longer in other restaurant before. The food was amazing. The service was great I highly recommend it.

It's a great, relaxed atmosphere. You can dress up or wear jeans and won't look out of place in either. For entrees we've had the burger, the short-rib, the venison and the braised lamb strozzapreti. They were all amazing! The venison was probably the best meal I've had in a long time.

Food is usually pretty good although if they changed their menu more often I'd be inclined to go more. I had a turkey pannini for lunch last week and was disappointed to see deli turkey instead of fresh real turkey that I'd expect at a place like this.

Whilst the headline seems a bit over the top after 10 days visiting from Europe, on the eastern side of Canada I have felt underwhelmed by the general standard of breakfast, lunch and dinner. However this meal was very good, well presented and with genuinely good service. I was offered a taste of the beer and the wine before I ordered too. Well done Capers.

Found this place at random while driving down 401 and looking for a place to have a decent lunch. What can I say, I'm thoroughly impressed! Great service, sophisticated food - and a moderate price tag! Went for the BBQ brisket and tuna ceviche, with artisan greens salad and truffled fries. All were nicely presented and tasted awesome. Finished off with chocolate/berries ganache which made me consider ordering another one! :-) Overall, I now have a go-to place in Belleville!

wow. i didn't have many options due to my own dietary restrictions (eat chicken, no other meat). they were very accommodating. bread - warm, crusty & fresh. the chicken supreme with wheat based gnocchi in carrot puree was divine. the maple creme brulee is the best I've ever had. service was fast and friendly. atmosphere is warm and relaxed. the price for 2 entrées, a dessert and a half L of wine.... $108 with tax. well worth every penny

The visual aesthetic of the inside of Capers is truly one-of-a-kind. Hip and trendy, but not over done. Then you get to the food (which is amazing). It's definitely one of my favourite places to eat or pop in at for a drink.

Great bar, good food and very friendly staff. I frequent here often as it's in my opinion the best place to get drinks in Belleville. They have a good selection of Ontario craft beer including Dead Elephant! They also have mainstream brews and may or may not have Guinness. They have a quantum mini fridge, there's a level of uncertain probability on whether the Guinness exists in there or doesn't untill it's checked but sometimes it's there later on.

One of the best spots to eat in downtown Belleville. Come in casual or dressed up. Wine menu offers local and European options. The complimentary cheesy bread is addicting! Food menu changes from lunch to dinner. It's hard to choose a dish because everything is delicious! Their desserts are scrumptious too. The Waterfront Trail is located behind the restaurant which makes for a nice walk after dinner.

We liked the setup of the restaurant. The entertainment was good. Our meals were a disappointment. The scalloped potatoes were not cooked, the hilite of my $34.00 steak and fries were the fries. The steak was horrible. Won't go to this place again.

Usually full five is rare, just always room to improve. Make a reservation this is a busy spot. We waited a uncomfortable lobgvtome at door to be greated and sat. If I was not meeting my daughter and friend I would have likely left it was that long. Once seated the device was great. Chris was friendly and informative. Seemed like he sincerely liked doing what he does. We started out with a sharing of dishes. Charcuterie, crawdads, fried Brussels. All was excellent with great presentation. Lots on the charcuterie and great portion on the crawfish. Chris checked in on us several times and kept the cocktails filled. After so much app we shared a burger and a 10oz strip. Burger was great, the steak was just ok. Very thin in center and thick ends. Not a consistent thickness witch resulted in uneven cook of a little over done. All and all was fun, nice spot, clean and cant wait to return. Thanks to all in kitchen also. Was nice to see no plastic used on floor, like straws in cocktails. All in with tax and grat $250. Not to bad.

Amazing atmosphere and really friendly staff. Went there with my husband for an anniversary meal so I'm not sure what the expectation is for kids bit I might bring mine with me next time during the lunch hour. The meal was beyond expectations! Lovely ambiance mixed both old world charm via decor and accessories with modern takes on food and presentation. We had a great time and will recommend to everyone!

Friend recommended this place in downtown Belleville and it didn't disappoint. We started with the meat charcuterie board. Meat was excellent and it came with lots of veggies too. I ordered the lamb pasta and my brother the salmon. Both were cooked and seasoned to perfection. We ended the meal with the strawberry shortcake. All and all a terrific experience.

Busy Friday night, so a bit of a wait but it was well worth it! Tasty food, great service. Live music to boot! My teenagers loved every single course and bite. Server even saw us trying to take a family pic shortly after leaving the restaurant and ran out to take the shot for us! Above and beyond. Definitely be back!

I've never bad a bad meal here. I love cooking brisket in my smoker, I'm always interested in trying new foods so when I went with a girl on a date and I saw a special was brisket, I had to have it. Now, normally I like my brisket in sandwich form. Because it's amazing. But I got a brisket meal, complete with mac and cheese, the veggies and pretty sure theres coleslaw. Do yourself a favor and go here. OH and they have a duck breast poutine. It's amazing. The chef is a true master, and when he has some time he comes out of the back to chat. Super nice man, cooks incredible food, amazing atmosphere, the whole deal.

Lady food got a fish taco, which were bomb, lady food did not eat the whole thing as she hates food consumption but was pleasantly surprised. The food sampled and was embellished by a savoury, zesty, cool taste explosion. The food got a burger which was made from local beef, the rich flowing flavour captivated the food.

Food and service are excellent as always. But it's a small, zero-soundproofing restaurant, not a stadium rock concert. No amplification is needed, especially during dinner hours when really, most people are there to eat, drink, and visit with each other. Then when we walked to the car afterwards we could still make out the singer's lyrics two blocks away. All of downtown Belleville can hear the music. Turn it way down, please!

Lovely little spot in downtown Belleville (one of the few right now as the downtown is in the process of being revitalized). I ate here on a Friday evening. We lucked out with the last table on the patio. They had live music inside, which you could enjoy outside thanks to the outdoor sound system. We started with a beer - lots of local/Ontario beverages on the menu to choose from. As an appetizer we enjoyed the grilled naan with (what I think was homemade) hummus & bruschetta. Only suggestion I'd have is to serve with a little more naan so we could scoop up all that yummy dip! My boyfriend and I then both ordered the pulled pork sandwich. It was perfection! Served on a beautiful brioche bun, and topped with slaw. Side dish was French fries - some of the best ones I've had in a long time. All of this was provided to us by a fantastic, attentive, friendly server. Highly recommend and would love to visit again next time I'm in the Belleville area.

This was our first visit to Belleville and a co-worker recommended this restaurant. It was terrific...i started with the artichoke risotto appetizer and that really set the bar for the rest of the meal. They exceeded expectations with the duck breast and udon noodles, and the no bake Apple cheesecake (yum). Atmosphere and service matched the quality of the meal. A definite must when in Belleville!!!

We were a group of 4 people on a Saturday night without a reservation. Everything was booked solid everywhere, inside capacity is not to 100% because of covid, and we had tried a restaurant called The lark. Their waiter directed us to Capers saying that the food was good. He was right! We were lucky to find a table. The place is very cute. You have tables, high stools, banquettes and outside seating. Two of my friends had burgers, the other has shrimp tacos and I had the ribs. Was it the best meal I have ever eaten? No, but everything was good. The waitress was very professional and courteous and we had a very good bottle of Chianti at around 45$. I would go back anytime I find myself in Belleville!
