Was very good. Not great. For the price? It should have been great. Had the burger. There is a dedicated burger place in Bathurst just down the road from here. About 25% less expensive and better. In all honesty it was all decent food(we had three different meals and three different appetizers). But for an average plate price of $20 and appetizers running $10-15 I was expecting more. If the prices were half? It would be easily 5 star. At 25% less? Easy 4 star.

So the food is usually good. The beer selection is much better (Hu Jon Hops by Trailway...nice!!), but get your shift together, the service while friendly, is horrible. Bring people's food at the same time for starters.

Good cocktails, decent mix of foods, but they have versions of "ethnic" foods that are well... not great. Beautiful renos, and food suits the area its in. Small town vibes, service was great once our server came over(they've been closed for a while so everyone is rusty). Right in the same building as the theater. If you're looking for a nice date night, this would be a good place. Highly recommend the bikini martini.

Call in for a take out they put me on hold for over 1/2 h and then hangs up on me so I drive down to the establishment because my mom who is hospitalized for hip replacement wanted seafood chowder and sadly it's the only place in town that serves seafood chowder week long once I get there I ask to speak to manager to explain what had just happened after waiting an additional 15 min to get to speak with her she says I'm sorry we were busy ?? so I order what I wanted by this time I'm pissed after an additional 35 min to get my food sausage rigatoni, steak tacos, and finally the seafood chowder so when get back to hospital time to eat very disappointed with all of the food the tacos were not the best I've had supposed to be steak if there was any very minimal the sausage rigatoni was accualy good but only 3 pieces of sausage?? Now about the seafood chowder let's leave the seafood out of it on the menu there advertising it as lots of lobster, haddock shrimp and mussels there was lots of shrimp but not much of anything else except potatoes would never return to this restaurant or refer anyone to go there service sucks big time as the food and of course has anyone tried to eat taco or rigatoni with a spoon yes gave me 3 small plastic spoons way to go Cast & Crew Gastro Pub you suck big time very unhappy customer

I do not like given anyone a bad review but if something is in your menu you should be able to make it! I am a big OLD FASHIONED drinker and when you get a drink on the menu listed made and the person basically tells you she never ever made one only after she has made it, then do not attempt to do it! It looked horrible when it was brought to my table to a point where I refused it and asked a a 2oz glass of scotch something one cannot make a drastic error like the one basically that just happened! I am one that lives by less is more! This being said remove all items off your menu that one you do not regularly get asked for or cannot make the proper way! This being said reviews will get better as everything you offer will be excellant. Now I ordered something simple especially in the Maritimes fish and chips. Let’s see how they do on that??? Let me say this place is busy but not over the board busy so why 15 minutes later I still am waiting for my fish and chips is kind of surprising to me! Well 24 minutes later it arrives and as we can see far from perfection! Overly cooked most likely old oil. Very few sweet potatoes even though we pay extra for them and a sliver of a lemon slice which will about cover 1/3rd of the fish once I use it! I will not be recommending this place at all! Sorry

Unless it was because it was at lunch and it was not busy, we waited too long. I had the Chaleur Bay Pot and was not my thing. My wife had the Chicken Marsala and enjoyed it. I wish I had the opportunity to try more on the menu as I was visiting to give it a fair rating and determine if it is what I expect from a Gastro Pub. It maybe a reason to visit Bathurst in the summer.

We waited 45 minutes for our starters and asked the waitress at that point why the long wait? She returned 5 minutes later to tell us it would be at least another 10 minutes. The waitress mentioned that the kitchen was backed up. The restaurant was not full and the majority of tables had eaten .We left, she reply that she didn't blame us. After reading other review on here and other sites the majority of the problem seams to be disorganization with the back of house. We will not return

Food was okay. However the GF on their menu stands for gluten friendly, not gluten free which means it's prepared using the same equipment as everything else. There is a risk of cross contamination. Their menu is higher priced than I would expect based on the quality of the food as it was just okay. Staff seemed nice and quick and they also had a good selection of beers available along with multiple tv screens all showing different sports.

A very disappointing experience. I ordered the red deer sausage penne that advertised it had a red pepper puree however it had no sauce, was full of oil from the sausage and no puree just sauted peppers. I asked my server if there was a mistake made. When she returned from the kitchen I was advised the chef was trying something new. I'm not paying money to be your taste tester and I did not have time for you to correct my order. I will not be returning here.

Second time back here and wow what a change. The menu was great, had the beef rib which was awesome. The last place (Jody's?) we visited last time a few years back gave us the disappointment and a movie package so i am happy to see something good there.

The table next to our was complaining about the wait time for their order when we first walked in. That should have been our first clue... We waited for well over an hour to get our order. Waiter was nowhere to be found when we needed something. Food was alright, fries were good. Burger not so much. Make sure you're not in a hurry.

WARNING, DO NOT ORDER THE STEAK!!!! I went here with a group of people. I ordered the steak. When I received my meal I was unimpressed as obviously it was not a cut worthy of its price tag (thin cut and I'd bet they come frozen in a box). Anyway, Regardless of how cheap it looked, I wanted to give it a chance. I ordered my steak cooked medium but I received something that was tough and very well done, not to mention there was no flavour other than cheap tough meat. When the waitress came to our table to pick my plate up she mentioned how I didn't eat the steak and asked if I didn't like it and I said no, it's over cooked and tastes gross. When my father who was dining with us slipped off and paid the bill I was shocked to see that he was charged for the meal. Never have I seen a restaurant make you pay for something that a customer didn't eat/said wasn't good/was cooked wrong. So afterwords I approached my waitress (who is by no means at fault here) and asked her about it and she said felt bad to charge me for it and went to another worker whom I'm assuming was a supervisor or something. I was completely shocked that the woman basically said it's my fault the steak was over cooked because I ate my potatos first and didn't tell my waitress sooner that it wasn't good. I honestly didn't hear or notice the waitress when she came over to our table to ask how it was. However, I felt bad when the woman looked at her and asked rudely if she did and when she said yes I assumed she must have stopped by and asked some of the people at my table (6 of us). According to this "supervisor" there is nothing that can be done because of my timing of saying I didn't like the meal. Honestly, I don't see how timing means anything as even if I told the waitress when she was at the table I wouldn't have wanted a new steak. It was so cheap that their minimal seasoning can't fix the flavour even if it was cooked to medium. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this establishment just for their lack of professionalism this one person showed me. I've worked in the food industry once upon a time and I know how customers should be treated. If management/Freddy wants to keep customers, someone needs to provide some training on how to treat said customers.

Fish and chips was amazing. The fries were cut very thin and they were done to perfection. We showed up at 8:50pm and they close at 9pm. They were gracious enough to let us know the items on the menu that were available before seating us. The place is nice inside and everyone there seemed friendly and to be havinn a great time.

We ordered a salad, sausages with pretzels and nachos. The waitress came back saying they were out of nachos, so I chose the penne pasta dish. After an hour(!) the food arrived. The restaurant was not full and these type of dishes should not take that long to make. The pasta was actually excellent and was a large portion. The salad was ok, but was poorly prepared and was missing an ingredient. The sausages and pretzels were a disaster. The two dipping sauces for the sausages weren't in separate dipping cups, but just squirted on the plate with the rest of the food so they were mixing together. The pretzels looked like they were the crumbs from the bottom of a bag of Rolled Gold. We didn't try any of it as we didn't know what to do with it, and the waitress hadn't come by our table the entire time we ate to see how the meal was. After we were finished eating and I shared my thoughts on the meal I was told the chef's intention was to dip the sausage in the dip, then in the pretzel crumbs. To be fair, as the menu item was listed as Sausages and Pretzels we assumed they were larger soft pretzels, but yes, within the description of the dish, it does say crushed pretzels. Just a heads up if you order this. The waitress was very nice and apologetic about the wait and the meal, and removed the pretzels and sausage dish from our bill.

This was a nice surprise, good atmosphere, most of the food was good. Unfortunately the fish and chips we a complete disappointment. The fish was cold and soggy and the fries were tasteless it was also strange not to get coleslaw with this dish. The other disappointment was there were not many vegetarian options let alone vegan. Despite that it was overall a good experience.

My favourite spot in Bathurst. It's one of the few restaurants where I actually enjoy trying new things on the menu (as opposed to my life-long habit of zeroing in on one favourite pick AKA "I'll have the burger/poutine"). My current top picks are : Mushroom & Jack burger (beef for me), the steak tacos and their fish & chips. I've also had their lunch specials multiple times: delicious, and the chef makes awesome soups.

Delicious food!!! Many gluten-free options and I also need dairy-free food which they happily accommodated. I had cauliflower steak with house salad and grilled chicken breast. Yum yum. Service was incredibly slow!! We waited over 1 hour from arrival until we had our food. Our waitress was very nice though. Perhaps they need more kitchen staff. It was fairly busy but not over the top. Overall, I would suggest eating here! Decent prices, tasty food, friendly service.

Very sad to post a bad review about businesses in Bathurst. We went in at 7:30pm with only a couple people in there. Ordered a steak and nachos and drinks. We got our drink within 5 minutes of beinf seated but 50 minutes later we had heard no new from our waiter, not if we wanted refills or anything else and not even to check on us or let us know it was going to take a little while. We ended up leaving.

Not too sure how Cast and Crew still is in / gets business. I guess it’s my own fault for giving them another chance. Terrible service each and every time I’ve gone (three times in three years). C&C you should not deliver one persons meal 25 mins after you delivered the two other peoples meals. They were already done at this point, so the whole point of going out to eat together has been defeated. Do not say your meal will be out shortly when it won’t be. At this point, most restaurants would comp this item and apologize in hopes you would given them another shot at your business in the future. Cast and Crew so “kindly” took it off my bill, but “had” to then throw it in the garbage.. this makes zero sense. Wasteful and a very unhappy customer. I took my parents out for dinner but will now go grab take out from somewhere else. Great. Thanks C&C. Furthermore, never even had the chance to order more drinks, or get more water. Is this sort of service acceptable in a small town? Do people not realize this isn’t how service should be? C&C, please respond.

Landed at Cast & Crew last night, their wing night is great, love that you can order random quantities of however many you like. Service at the bar was top notch and the fact that they're offering Trailway's Ju Jon Hops IPA on top was a welcomed surprise, good call bringing that in. This is the best restaurant in town, the only time I'm ever disappointed here is when I have to leave. Cheers y'all.

New menu since last time I was there ,I like to get a good steak and the only steak on the menu was Steak & Chimichurri The steak came all cut in slices and the Chimichurri was something I did not like at all (glad I asked to have it on the side instead of on the steak ) It came with some vegetables not crazy about underneath the cut up steak . Place was half empty but still took ten minutes before someone came to assign me a place to sit, it is an open restaurant so ,I did not see you is no excuse. I ordered the steak and it took a very long time to get my order.Steak was not cooked as to my request and onions were charred. The mashed potatoes and the veggies were very good and the gravy that was served with the meal covered in part the steak's "flaw". I would go back and give them another try. I believe if all was as i had requested it would have been perfect.

I’m sorry to be posting a bad review. I took my sister and brother in law out for supper to thank them for making my stay in Bathurst a wonderful one. I ordered fish and sweet potatoes fries. Unfortunately my fish batter was soggy. Waited patiently for the waitress to inquire how our meal was. At that point I had eaten 1/2 my fries waiting. I was asked if I wanted another fish but I declined as my dinner companions would be finished their meal before I had a chance to start. The waitress said I would have to pay for my meal anyway as I didn’t want another piece of fish. I mean really. That’s not how I would treat a customer. Another waitress advised me that I would be given a 10% discount. I felt very uncomfortable with the whole situation especially when I was treating my family with a dinner out. I ordered another white wine sangria. Unfortunately my drink came with paper in it that passed through the straw into my mouth. I left it on the napkin. The waitress then proceeded to tell me it was a blueberry and not paper because the paper had turn blue from the drink. I said no it’s not. It was definitely paper. Again no apologies. Just made me feel very uncomfortable. Then the bill came and I refused to pay for my meal but they insisted on charging me for sweet potatoes fries. Really! They didn’t charge me for the second drink was their response. I would hope not since I only had a few sips. This truly was the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. I’m just grateful that my guests meals were to their liking. Overall I suggest that the staff should undergo a review of customer service etiquette. Ate here for the first time yesterday with family. Out on the patio as it was a beautiful evening. Food was great. Only issue was the circling blue bottle flies and the funky smell around the cog wheel tables. Was a lot of dirt and debris in the table grooves and inside. Not something you can reach with a wipe down. I would eat here again but only inside. Also the waitress was amazing and friendly ????we were seated promptly and didn't wait long for service or food/drinks.

This is a hard review for me to make. I want to be as fair as possible but if I was going about our experience, it would be way lower but if it was only about the food/price/menu aspect, I would had gave it a four stars rating. I won't get into the details of our bad experience in itself since it could very well be a single bad day but there where things which seemed much more generalized which made me uneasy which I think people should know about. First, the restaurant clearly treats their customers differently depending on their "status". I called for a reservation on a Saturday yet I was told they don't do reservations during the weekend. Come Saturday and I see someone coming in, not waiting for service and just telling the lady at the door: we have a reservation, right there, see my name is on your schedule. And... yea, he did have a reservation and was treated much better than the people just walking in. The table in front of us arrived 20 mins after us, ordered apetizers and desserts yet they finished and left 10 minutes before we received our meal (no apetizers, ordered promptly our meals). Some clients received complimentary pop corns bowls as a way to excuse the long wait time... but not us! And a few other tables too, it seemed like they knew well the people who received some, addressing them by their name. I know repeat customers are important to the long term stability of a restaurant but treating other guests as less important is certainly not the way to make them into regulars! The sad thing is we would had most likely been semi-frequent customers due to friends recommending the place but they pretty much lost us. Total wait time was over two hours with about 1h45 waiting for the meal. Food was good hence the review not being a one or two stars but it was not perfect. The price of the hamburger was more in line with a family restaurant than a gastropub and my wife steak was overcooked to the point some corners where downright burnt (she asked medium well). Fried where really good, but they put the peppercorn sauce of my wife steak in between the fries and the steak. Result: soggy fries and no more sauce for the steak! I heard so much about them yet it seems like they dropped the ball hard that night. Like I said, I don't want to go into details about our experience (a LOT more happened, some way worst) but those are things which are simply unacceptable for a restaurant branding itself as being "gourmet food" and asking "gourmet prices".

Absolutely amazing service. I always recommend to anyone. I had gone with a group of friends and had brought my toddler with me. Our server was quick to provide an activity ( coloring) and asked if I wanted to order her food at the same time she was taking our drink orders, because she understood that toddlers can be less than patient. When the dish came out she offered me a separate plate to help cool it down. I was floored by the amazing service. And it is a service I was always remember and recount to anyone who asked for a Bathurst restaurant recommendation. Keep up the great work and delicious food :)

My family and I ate here 4 times during our visit to Grande-Anse and Bathurst. Everything we tried was delicious. Service was fast and personable. Restaurant decor is great and makes you feel at home. It’s located right beside the local movie theatre so we made it a fun outing by catching a movie after. Highly recommend!

3 of us went in for lunch, was seated right away. Order was taken, water was brought to the table. 35min passed, no food, no refills, no explanation, no more eye contact. This restaurant is conveniently located next to the cinema in Bathurst. The service was very good. The menu was reduced due to Covid but we all-round something we thought we'd like. The fries were good. Very crispy which is how I like them. The children's burger was okay, but the bun was burnt. My son had the fish and chips, but the fish was dry. My husband's burger was good, but the price was high. I had the best of the bunch: pulled pork nachos. They were delicious. Overall, the food was expensive and mediocre. I think next time we're going to the movies, we'll try somewhere else.

The second time there I ordered a share basket which was far from good. Was way over cooked, onion rings were deep fried so much the onion was chrispy. We ordered an onion soup as a starter ,.and all the top croutons were burnt black. I ordered mack and cheese for my 4 year old. It was spagetti and cheese not mack and cheese.and I ordered a burger for me and the bun was burnt and so was the burger patty. Very disappointed this time around.
