Sure, the service was prompt and friendly. No amount of good service, however, could prepare me for what was to come. I got the Jumbo DannyBurger. The unsalted fries were the best part, I'm afraid. The burger was covered in "Danny's sauce" which tastes like a mixture of overly sweet ketchup and vinegar. When I say "covered," I mean the burger was cut up and the sauce poured all over it, completely masking any taste the meat may have had. The coleslaw tasted like someone bought a generic brand from the store and somehow removed all its flavour. Still, the waitress was friendly.

We've been eating here for years, the food is usually good. This time we decided to add poutines to our lunches, big mistake. Everything was soaked in gravy all soggy. Not to mention I got sick off of the clams. Very disappointing. We won't be back.

Every year when i come home one of the 1st places I go is to Big D for my Clams. Sad to say that this was the 1st time that I can remember not enjoying my order of Fried Clams. There seemed to be alot of end piece of the previous order and not alot of full clams and not an enjoyable meal. I was raised here in Bathurst and grew up with the Hickey Family. So this is part of my tradition especially a couple times a visit. Sadly I'm enjoying the clams at 748, Papa Joe's and Atlantic Host. Very Sad ???? and hopefully it will improve the next time I go.

Ordered a The Danny Burger Nov 01 2021 , pick up got Home and the last thing I wanted to See was a McDonald's Cheese Burger ???!!! In my Meal , notice it right away , after the 1st Bite , moved the Fries over and examined , to my Disbelief I was staring at a McDonald's cheeseburger . And they just placed her sauce on it. All kinds of scenarios were going through my head at this point, why would a business like this order a bunch of McDonald's cheeseburgers and disguise it , and make it their own meal ?? You can't stop in Bathurst without grabbing a Danny Burger here. The simplicity of this restaurant is great. I love parking by the arches and getting service at my car window. Not only is the experience memorable but even the washroom facilities are nice and clean. We had a couple of Danny Burger combos and they were delicious. Do yourself a favour and stop in.

When we called to explain all this the manager we hung up on the line. We for our part we iron never eat there again and I do not recommend this restaurant !!! Home of the Danny Burger, possibly the most unique and underrated burger on the planet. You dont eat it like a burger, but use a knife and fork which cuts through a great combination of ground beef, cheese, tomato sauce, coleslaw, and the mix with the fries (on the side) is something spectacular! Get the Danny Burger and nothing else. This is the definition of a hidden gem.

This is a unique drive in. Fun for a change. The service by the one person was very good. She must put in a lot of steps in a day. The 1 star was for the food. The clams in the clam dinner were 3*. They were cooked well. The Danny burger was awful. It was a thin piece of meat with a slice of process cheese in a soggy bun covered with a sauce that appeals to people who live in the area I am told. Both meals were covered with barely warm low quality and almost soggy french fries. It was a very disappointing meal.

Just drove across Canada with an eye for local food, big d will always be top 5. The service to the staff and finally good, all are second to none. No joke I drove 14,500km in 1 month and ate at hundreds of restaurants and none had an experience like the Big D. If anyone can argue this point please try.

Worst experience ever, waitress was wonderful. The food was so bad, my burger didn't hold up to the quality standards of 748 restaurant in Beresford. The French fries were not homemade. The burger was paper thin, the regular burger with poutine was just as bad.
