Unfortunately the food took quite some time and was lIke warm. My steak was also undercooked for medium rare, but did not want to send it back to the kitchen after waiting. Will try it again.

Great food selection for everyone and extensive wine list. Staff are welcoming and knowledgeable. You will not be disappointed. When friends are visiting from out of town we always take them to Crazy Fox and they have nothing but great things to say. Highly recommend!

We visited the Crazy Fox Bistro last night for my birthday. Everything started off great, the service was good and staff were friendly. However, once we received our food things went downhill. The food was good, but the portions were very tiny. I never have a big appetite but 8 small ravioli-type pieces of pasta wouldn't feed a child let alone an adult. We had ordered a bottle of wine which the server had placed on a different, vacant table. Once we received our food they never came back to refill our wine glasses so I got up to get the bottle of wine to serve myself. When I did this, a different server who had ignored us so far snapped at me and said I shouldn't be doing that. Well it had been almost 40 minutes since my glass had been filled so I was going to help myself. No one came by to see if we were satisfied with our food or if we needed anything while we ate. Once we had finished eating it took over 20 minutes for our plates to be cleared. Dessert menus were slipped in front of us without anyone speaking. My boyfriend and I set a timer to see if anyone would come to take our order. After another 20 minutes with no acknowledgement, we flagged down the other waiter (ours was downstairs drying glasses at the bar), and asked for the bill. We paid and he said that our server, Kim, was busy, which is why she hadn't come by our table in the past hour. While I would have understood if the restaurant was busy, it was a Wednesday night and there were only 4 or 5 other tables of guests and we could see Kim standing by the bar the whole time. We left after an hour and a half, of which we were eating for maybe 10 minutes (again, small portions) without anyone saying have a good night, or acknowledging my birthday. The food was good, but not worth the prices and the service was atrocious. I would be hard pressed to recommend the Crazy Fox Bistro to anyone. On the bright side, the people at Zehrs where we did go for dessert were very friendly and helpful in selecting a cake.

I been going to crazy fox almost 20 years . Since the original owner sold the place quality it is not the same. We wnt there few weeks a go I notice price gone up. This is barrie not Toronto. Very expensive. I would not mind to pay but not Toronto price .

My sister and I had dinner here for her birthday a week ago. We started with the scallops and the platter they were both delicious, For a main course my sister had the lamb osso buco which she enjoyed very much and could not stop raving about how tender the meat was. As for me I had the gnocchi chicken pesto which was Fantastic. I’m no foodie although I will be returning to eat here very soon. Just a tip this restaurant gets busy here so make a reservation.

Lastnight I took my girlfriend of 6 years to the Crazy Fox for date night. This wasn't our first time here. Food was amazing as always, her bacon wrapped steak was cooked to perfection. But I was really unimpressed with the service from our server directly. Now I don't even know if it is fully her fault because it seemed she was running around a lot. It seemed like she forgot about us multiple times . I ordered a beer before dinner came and by the time my food arrived I still didn't have the beer. Thank God the servers assistants we're on the ball and I could ask them and they quickly got it. After our dinner when it was finally time to order dessert our waitress was walking downstairs and saw us sitting on the other side of the railing so she yelled up "oh ya you two" and asked what we were having for dessert. I dont know if this was all this servers fault it did seem she may have had a lot of tables downstairs she was serving I don't know. She was very nice and her mood was great but maybe a bit much for the nice evening. Servers assistants we're great. Good food but many options downtown Barrie and service is everything.

Barrielicious menu needs work. Penne with chicken features a rather runny cream sauce, paella features dry rice and rather bland flavour, Caesar salad barely dressed, and the desert selection also lacks flavour. Perhaps if you don't know what really good food is you may be satisfied. On the other hand, if you do know good food you will be disappointed. Service is good.

The waitresses nice and service was good. But I had one major problem. My wife and I ordered 2 appetizers with our meal PLUS one extra to try out and I shared this dish with my wife. When the hostess came around to pick up the plates she told us “YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SHARE”!!!... Wow…..I was speechless ………Nobody ever told me this before!!!! I’m buying the food and I pay for it…and if I want to share with my wife….that is ONLY my business!!!! CRAXY FOX HAS CRAZY IDEAS , and I would be CRAZY to go back there again!!

Dave and the staff are always ready to give you a warm welcome each time you visit the Crazy Fox ????. A relaxed and refined atmosphere is what you will find when you arrive. Between the outside patio, bar lounge area or the inside dining areas, you will always find a space that suits your desires. Make sure you give the chefs a wave ???????? as you walk past the glass walls around the kitchen area. The food... have anything that catches your eye on the menu. Everything is fantastic! My favourite has always been the chefs plate appetizer, a variety of tasty morsels, bound to impress. We enjoy this wonderful place so much, we have made it our Friday evening tradition. Awesome food friendly staff. Had a Christmas function here. Prices are reasonable considering the quality. Had lobster grilled cheese sandwich, dry jerk wings, duck confit and flat bread, cajun liver bites, bang bang shrimp, and several other items. Got gift certificates for my wife. Was a great bistro.

I was here for a work Christmas dinner. Atmosphere was great. Food was amazing. Best Bang Bang Shrimp I have ever eaten, and an amazing Filet Mignon. My only criticisms are parking (its limited) and the stairs (there are potentially many depending on where you are seated and if you need to use the bathroom).

Had dinner here with family and friends. Service could not have been better! Food was great I started with the sweet potato apple soup it was fanatic. For my main course I had the the bacon wrapped tenderloin cooked perfectly. My husband had the signature bang bang shrimp as they call it on the menu it did not disappoint and as a main course he had the lamb, he loved it very flavourful as he put it . For dessert we had the chocolate wedge and the chocolate pillars which the waitress informed us were both made (IN HOUSE) and were both very good! We will definitely be going back here and recommend the crazy fox bistro if your looking for a great dining experience in Barrie.

Went here for lunch. The food was okay, the portions were very small for the price. My pan seared tuna was barely seared. We left not very impressed and still hungry. Went somewhere else for dessert as we were not satisfied with what we got for our money. The waiter/waitresses were semi attentive, my husband only drinks water and was unimpressed that the little wine glass of water was only filled one time.

Just finished a delicious family take out meal. We had their famous chicken and it was outstanding with perfect sauce and sides. The veal parm with penne filling and so tasty. Rack of lamb done perfectly and filled up one hungry diner! Filet was so tender and juicy. My wife and I, have tried many of Barries restaurants. The Crazy Fox is one of the most underrated gems in Barrie. If you are looking for something a little more upscale, with a beautiful dinning area and wonderful service, the fox is perfect. Not to forget the food itself from the buttersquash soup, the lamb cooked and presented impeccably, the Rib eye and New York steaks all delicious cuts of meat! To the beautiful birthday plate, with an evermoreish creambrula on the side. The price is a little more then your local eatery, but the food, feel and service definitely make up for it.

I had a romantic dinner at the Crazy Fox Bistro and we were very happy. The atmosphere was very relaxed, and the food was excellent. We shared the sushi tuna, followed by an outstanding filet mignon. My date had the crab and lobster mezzaluna, which the server informed us was hand made fresh. We both split a gelato. Would highly recommend the crazy fox to anyone who hasn't been there. Overall, a nice surprise in Barrie.

The flowers are faded on the tables and the pots stink. And no disinfection for the covid (ramps, chairs) and more really disappointing for the price and forgot to also they offer desserts that they don't have. A chance that the staff are smiling (Original) Respect pour la réservation, entrées vraiment bonne le vin vraiment chère. Et pour les fruits de mer vraiment cheap. They have a policy with Barrielicious to not honour their gift certificates purchased from retailers like Costco. Since during Barrielicious they only present a single menu it would be wise to inform patrons in advance and not rely on the fine print. We received gift cards as a gift, so we had no idea that these were already discounted.

My husband and I ordered the grilled salmon filet dinner that came with jasmine rice and fresh veggies also a salad and spinach cream soup not in that order :) Everything was good except that the rice was undercooked not el dente but undercooked ( I am a food service professional) . The staff was courteous and offered to replace it with ' baked potato ' . Because we were done with our meal by the time the potatoes arrived ( Deep fried wedges of potatoes) we didnt have the appetite to eat fried potatoes at the end of the meal. All in all a decent place/patio with courteous customer service.

UPDATE: The owner called to apologize for the experience we had. Terrible dining experience. Our table was upstairs crammed in a corner beside a glass wall/door from what we assume used to be a smoking section. We were a party of 4 - two couples on a double date - we were given 2 menus. The menus were printed on one page of plain copy paper and the only heading was “DINNER”. We were served room temperature water (no ice) in tiny little wine glasses. We ordered a beer, a virgin cocktail and 2 iced teas. 20 mins later the server finally comes back with no iced teas and said it took long because he was looking for some but they were all out. He had no suggested alternatives so we stuck with the warm water. We all ordered appetizers and mains. There was no bread basket, there was no check in from the server, and finally 45 mins later the apps arrive. The Caesar salads were small. The pear salad has red peppers in it which is not in the description and I am allergic to so I had to pick them all out. The beef tenderloin tips were the only highlight of this whole dinner that was good. Then we waited another 45+ mins for our mains. The server came by after a half hour or so and we asked when it was coming and he said it had been “started”. Finally they came. The “sharper” knives for our steaks were no sharper than the butter knives. The meals weren’t anything special. My filet mignon was too charred and the bacon wrap had fallen off so the presentation wasn’t good. The steak and the veggies tasted ok and were cooked properly but were very bland. Same for the rib eyes and the chicken. We opted not to get dessert since we had been at the restaurant 2 HOURS by the time we finished our meals. Then it took about 10 mins for the bills to arrive. No manager came to apologize and the server indicated that he took one drink off each bill because “that’s all he is authorized to take off”, wasn’t very apologetic. Overall we were there 2 hours and 15 mins at a mediocre table. The prices are on the high end for this type of casual fine dining and completely unjustified, especially considering the bad service. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

The food was very delicious and the presentation was also good. I like the way they treat their customer. The atmosphere was cool enough . The staff was also very cooperative and the fully take care of their customer's need. Price was also decent for the food and service

Had a wonderful experience the other evening. Nicole took care of us, she was lovely and extremely knowledgeable about both the food and wine. The Bang bang shrimp was perfect as usual and my Filet cooked exactly how I liked. My date was also very pleased with the Chicken! Will for sure be back again. Highly recommend.

This is a special place to enjoy a meal. The rates are a bit higher than the average restaurant, but this is fine dining. It's local, unique, and candle-lit. The service is friendly, and the plates are divine. Some favourite dishes are the sesame beef salad, and any of the creme brulee options that the establishment cycles through.

I have quite a bit to say here, but please bear with me. Here are my main complaints: 1. My small side plate which had cutlery on it was dusty. My mother's was as well (she did not notice) and the waiter put her dinner bun on that plate. 2. That dinner bun was indestructable, we could not even cut it with a knife. 3. I overheard another waitress telling a distant table that she would be serving them WARM buns. Ours was not warm, therefore, service is inconsistent. 4. The mussels were tasty, but SALTY 5. The risotto had a doughy taste and was also salty 7. The ceasar salad looked anemic. No colour and no exceptional taste for the price. 6. The creme brulee was almost the thickness of yogurt; it should be slightly more gelatinous. The creme was also too sweet! That's what the burnt sugar is for! All in all, this place is great for a MOCK-fine dining experience. Unfortunately, the best dishes are just the seafood ones. The trout was excellent and the mussels were a runner-up, but contained too much salt. The presentation was also impressive for the seafood. I would recommend this place ONLY if you are craving seafood, but not willing to get food poisoning from Red Lobster's.

Dinner was freakn awesome , my boyfriend and I have been making it a point to visit every restaurant in Barrie just so we can say we have tried them all . Including golden griddle lol ( let’s just say don’t go there unless u want to eat eggs that are 10 hours old and you want to do crossword puzzles with the guy in the nest booth that’s been there all day lol) and we have even gone to Michael and marions and Il Bucco ) lets just say this was the best place ever Will go back again and again ! It was my first time coming to this restaurant a friend of mine told me about it. I wanted to take my fiance to a nice place for dinner for her birthday and everything was awesome I made a reservation over the phone even we got there a bit earlier and they took us in right away the atmosphere was very good the food was awesome the waitress was awesome very knowleageable about the menu my fiance had an amazing time enjoy everything so most definitly we will go back there the food was awesome it was worth it to wait for the food because it was made very fresh and from scratch the service was excellent it was an awesome overall dining experience. Most definitely recommended this place to anybody that want to have and awesome overall dining experience with friends and special occasions.

I'm 64 years old and have had many fine dining experiences. The Crazy Fox was one of the best!! I had the Beef Tenderloin Tips as an appetizer (you've got to try these), and the Rack of Lamb as an entree. My girlfriend had Tenderloin Steak with a Lobster Tail. The food and service was fantastic....very nice ambiance.

The cuisine combined with the wine list, service and atmosphere make this unique spot one you will want to return to. David and his staff always make each guest feel welcomed. I’ve driven by this place a million times! What a gem! Went for dinner during Barrilicious with my husband, two friends and their 10 year old daughter, and my 3 month old daughter. I had the pear tart, pecan crusted chicken with goat cheese, and cheesecake for dessert. Everything was absolutely fantastic. Also, they were extremely accommodating to place us in a location that my daughters car seat could sit out of the way of foot traffic and I could watch her the whole time. The service we received was great all around. The washrooms are located down a few flights of stairs, and I don’t believe wheelchair accessible if anyone requires that or has limited mobility. There is also no change table for babies but we made due. Will definitely return!

Went with a large group of 14 for a Birthday Party during Barrielicious. Had a reservation and had to wait 20 minutes for the table. Service was on par with a breakfast buffet trying to rush people in and out. Food was not worth the money even during barrielicious - everything tasted bland and premade - fish was bland, crab filling tasted like canned tuna with mayo, vegetables were mushy. The consensus was the same for most of our party. Very disappointing, won’t be going back.

From time I called to book the Restaurant was very willing to help with meal selection. They even ordered in 2 ribe eye steaks for us. OMG was it ever tender and delicious. The veal scallopini was exceptional. I luved the butter noodles, my friend had potatoes and veggies. Everything was hot and cooked perfect. Raspberry something for dessert was amazing. Lovely restaurant. One of the busier restaurants in Barrie, so it’s always wise to make reservations. Although the food is definitely not priced on the low end of the spectrum; the quality of the food proves to be well worth the price tag. Service is splendid and the decor is beautiful. The desserts are incredible and I would suggest trying their famous Raspberry Chocolate Truffle Wedge. This dessert is made in house and is absolutely to die for! This restaurant is such a gem and a great addition to Barrie’s selection of fine dining establishments.
