Had read the reviews on here and were excited to find good Korean food in Barrie. We were not disappointed. The ambiance was really nice and the service was great. We had the pork bone hot pot and it was a huge portion, well priced, and delicious. It was seriously so good. The personal attention that Anna gives is just the icing on the cake. We will definitely be back soon.

Unfortunately, that night was a very busy night and created an unpleasant experience for three of us (my wife, a friend of ours and myself). We arrived and placed our order. 40 minutes passed but our food never came. You could argue we should have checked with the waitresses sooner but we could tell that it was very busy so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. I started noticing the waitresses getting agitated or confused as I'd seen a number of dishes kept being moved to different tables, as if there was an order mix up. Later, a different server came to us and discovered that our server hadn't put our order into their system, which must have caused all the mix up. So finally, our order got put into the system after almost an hour of waiting and confusion. The worse part was she still managed to leave out my order. Eventually, I decided to just cancel my order and we left the place dissatisfied with the service, which was a shame because the food was actually very good.

Generous large portion, only waited for 10min and chef gave extra 5 piece spring roll to compensate for wait. Also got extra tofu in my bibibop but I was not charged. I give this place excellent customer service. It's the only Korean restaurant in Barrie compare to hundredssss in Toronto and GTA, but I'm glad going back without being bored. Authentic quality taste very fair good price . I was surprised.

A place with a lot of experience in making amazing food! This is by far one of the best order by roll sushi places you could find in the Barrie area. Not only that, their other selections on the menu of are high quality and great flavours. Their Korean food is 100% authentic and genuine. I haven't been disappointed by anything on the menu yet. Definitely worth a visit if you haven't ate here yet!

Ordered through Ubereats and the food was pretty good! I ordered the Bulgogi Dupbap and the Kimchi Jjigae. They are very generous with their kimchi! The food is a little on the expensive side but I still enjoyed it and that's what counts.

The food was pretty decent, and the presentation was excellent. Unfortunately, as is the case with most Asian cuisine style restaurants the service is lacking. We had to ask to order drinks ourselvee and we were never once offered refills on alcohol. (That's where the money is made)

Love Anna and her friendliness. Her sushi is always fresh plus she always is offering miso soup salad or hot green tea with every order. We love coming here as a family and will definitely continue our weekly dining tradition. I recommend getting a sushi boat to split with friends or family as it has a bit of everything! Food was terrible especially the grilled chicken. It was essentially unseasoned dry chicken with okay seasoned sauce. The vegetable dish took 30 minutes to arrive I don’t understand how it takes so long to cook 1 egg and fry a few vegetables when only 3 other people are in the restaurant. Finally I received a bland bowl of flavourless rice and vegetables. To add flavour I put hot sauce or tried to but instead a huge clump plopped out resembling tar. Would I eat here again, a solid no.

Such a gem in Barrie! This is the go-to place for all your Asian food cravings! Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese, Singapore, Malaysian, Thai. We tried the curry beef brisket which is tender and not too spicy. The pancake is handmade in house, soft and delicious. The Vietnamese noodle soup base is tasty and flavourful. Pork bone soup comes with chewy purple rice and decent size. Kimchi’s crunchy but the bean sprouts are too salty. Vietnamese coffee is bit salty as well. Would definitely come back to try other stuffs if I’m in town again.

Stopped in looking for some good food and this was just the place, very clean welcoming establishment, lovely atmosphere and great staff we ordered a couple of rolls (amazing) some sashimi and the kimchi hot pot....wow talk about a ton of food haha and so good we couldn’t even finish the hot pot. Great level of spice amazing flavour and great prices, the hot pot was something like 29$ and alone would be more then enough for two people. Overall would highly recommend

Waitress was not knowledgable about the menu and it's ingredients. After ordering, my 3 friends recieved their meal. After ten minutes, the waitress looked me in the eye and asked me how my food was, when it was clear I had nothing. I recieved my food nonchalantly and unapologetically from my waitress twenty minutes later. Food was mediocre. Friend's teriyaki chicken was more like warm boiled chicken on a plate with a light drizzle of sauce. Didn't have high expectations at a Korean/Asian Fusion restaurant in Barrie, but apparently they're very good at limbo here.

Our first time visit to KoHyang restaurant. We ordered the chef's recommendation which is assorted seafood nabe. It had whole baby crab, mussels, shrimps, tofu, and halibut(I think). The contents were plenty and price was just right. Taste was impressive. I'm very sensitive to MSGs, but I did not have any problems after my dinner. Servers were pretry attentive and kind. By the time we left(around 7:30pm), the place was packed. I will definitely come back.

We were on our way back from Wasaga Beach and wanted to stop in Barrie for some dinner. I was sick of eating fries all day (it seems like everywhere we go serve burgers and fries) ;p So I searched for Asian foods nearby and Ko Hyang Restaurant showed up. We thought it was Japanese and Korean food. But they recently changed their menu to Vietnamese and Thai food. To our pleasant surprise, everything was authentic and delicious! We're from the Toronto area and was excited that their food was so delicious. Great flavours and spiciness. The laksa was amazing. So flavourful! They have 15% off until August 15, 2021. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed :)

We came here thinking it was still a Korean restaurant since when it had first changed ownership, it remained Korean. The name hasn’t changed. We sat down regardless and the staff were so friendly. We had our 19 month old with us and they were making her laugh and talking to her. We actually love pho but lately haven’t found much where we currently live. After living in Montreal, Ottawa, Burlington and Oakville, I can say that this pho broth is incredible. So much flavour. The fresh spring rolls were out of this world too. No big chunky lettuce spines, just fresh thin leafs with the usual fillings, but nice and thin rolls. I also loved the homemade clear peanut sauce. Often it’s thick but this was liquid with peanuts in it. Again, emphasis on the staff who made us feel so welcome with our young toddler. Thank you!

What helpful staff! We were hoping to dine in a couple of weeks ago, but had to cancel our reservation for our large group. We let them know that we would be ordering take out later in the day. Every time we called, they were always very friendly and understanding! We placed our take out order and after a friendly pick up, we drove the 20 minutes back to the house. Once we arrived we noticed one of the meals were missing, disappointed we called the restaurant who then drove the missing meal to our location. What wonderful service and the food was amazing. We ordered a variety of dishes and none seemed to disappoint, even for the pickiest of palates. Thank you KoHyang, we hope to visit again when we're back in the area!

The reason that I can only give 4 stars are because of the service. Don't get me wrong. They do have very friendly staffs ( including the owner herself ). It's more like lack of staffing. If you go there on a regular day or night, the service is usually very good in term of the wait time. On the other hand if you going there on the weekend or some sort of a holiday, then prepare yourself for a long night. Often the wait time is gonna be around 30mins to 45mins. Because it's always only 2 waitress there. And I believe also in the kitchen 2 staffs(included the owner) The food quality is ALWAYS good thou.( definitely a 5 stars rating. ) That's why we kept coming back for more. That being said. If you are in some kind of a rush and hungry, skip the weekends. If you are like us that have all the time in the world and the patience. Come anytime!! THE BEST PORK BONE SOUP in town!!

The Korean food was great. Had the Gamjatang. The place was not busy, but I have a feeling (based off other photos) that we were going to get more banchan other than the rice we got. No kimchi :(. My husband ordered sashimi and eel don, and waited about half an hour for it to finally arrive. Tastiest chicken katsu I've had in years...maybe ever. Nice decor and ambiance. Staff very friendly and caring so much so that they'll try to anticipate your need/request before you say it. Nice presentation of food too. Prompt and fresh. Oh and the Miso is wonderful too. So much so that I would visit just for that. Looking forward to my next visit. 2020 October edit: I'm sitting in Ko Hyang House as I write this and I can only say that in the 2+ years I've been coming here it never disappoints. Food is always tasty and fresh, staff always kind and helpful. Already looking forward to my next visit again.

This place is really nice. Nice atmosphere, soft lighting, friendly staff, good food, small intimate space. It's never too crowded, the music played is soft and relaxing. They offer take out. They have some meat dishes, a few delicious soup options which are hearty and filling. They sell sushi pay per roll not all you can eat. The sushi can be a little expensive but the quality is apparent.

Looking at all the positive reviews, I had high expectations for this restaurant. I ordered the miso ramen which was flavourless, the noodles were mushy and tasted like plastic. The Beef had no seasoning and was chewy. If you want authentic ramen please do yourself a favor and don't go here. Drive to Toronto were it's actually made correctly.

Wonderful restaurant with lots of space for social distance and plenty of daylight. They even have a separate half closed rooms for a private dining. The server was wonderful and welcoming. The menu is very clear with a great description of the meals a pictures so it is easy to choose your meal even if you are not very familiar with Korean cuisine. The dishes tasted fabulous! Definitely recommend to others ???? ????

My wife and I we went here for the first time. Some background...I personally have eaten at many restaurants in downtown Toronto, other Korean restaurants and many places around the world. We ordered the squid sizzling plate and couple bowls of rice. The rice was fine but the squid was rubbery and a little tough to chew. It wasn't cooked properly or overcooked. For $20 I expected a better dish. I don't think they should charge this much if the squid is going to come out like that. I told the restaurant this. Nothing was said or done. The service was good but not great. Not a great first impression in my opinion. I don't know how their other dishes are but we'd be hesitant to go back.

After looking at all the great reviews on this Restaurant, I deiced to give it a try. I ordered the Kimchi, expecting authentic Korean food. Boy was I wrong. They cut corners and expect people not to notice? Cheap ingredients, sloppy, flavorless broth. Tasted like hot water in a plastic bowl. -20 dollars and left with nothing but disappointment. Don't. Go. Here. Go to Toronto where they actually make authentic Korean food.

Hidden gem of Barrie that is right in the open on Bayfield. I have had sushi in almost every place in Barrie and this place by far was the best. It’s not all you can eat but three rolls will be enough for most people to be full. Can’t recommend this place enough

Excellent Korean food. Go for the glass noodles and the Hot Potts. The sushi is also very good. Nice food quality and fair prices. They have combination dinner platters that has a mix of many plates in taste size.

Went here for lunch and the service and food amazing. Had seafood udon stir fry and my husband got dolsot bibimbap...really good. Definitely would recommend..don't let the street construction deter you..it's worth the extra travel to get here.

The beef Yaki Udon is amazing and the spring rolls are delicious. The soup is hot and perfect comfort food. They now have a life long customer and I highly recommend you try this amazing food.

Great place for Asian comfort food in Barrie. We've been here a few times and enjoyed Tom Yom Goong Noodle Soup, Angus Beef Pho, the appetizer platter, Crispy Beef, Hai Nam Chicken with rice, and Gamjitang (Korean pork bone soup). Each dish was tasty, quality and service was friendly and efficient. KoHyang is one of our local faves.

Every time we come in to eat the servers are very welcoming. We have ordered hot pot every time with Kim Chi and I can say I am never disappointed the portion is so huge 2 people can’t eat it let alone 4 sometimes. At the end of our stay one of the ladies gave us some complimentary fruit which was extremely sweet of her! Also on Valentine’s Day I thought it was too late to go anywhere for reservations. I immediately thought of my favourite hidden Korean restaurant in Barrie which by the way, when they had sushi which they no longer have was probably the best sushi in Barrie. In conclusion you get quality quality quality and QUANTITY you’ll never be hungry when you leave. I think my only concern is they might have to fry their Tako Yaki a bit longer which had a bit of a cold Center but it was still very good! I really enjoyed the hot pot with kimchi but not the add on with sausages and ramen noodles, all the dishes that say Kampoogki, I have only tried Sundubu Jjigae soup so far but was very good and lastly anything dumpling or Gyoza has been super good. Very fair pricing for very good food! Will be coming back!

When you get tired of all can eat places and want quality and better presentation this is the place to go. Portions are huge so just as good as all you can eat really. Poon Gi 3 types all great. Spicy Bulgogi awesome beef dish, lobster prince and spider roll are top notch. All the usual drinks and prices are crazy good. Place is clean and owner Anna is on the ball. Service is a little slow (relatives?) But worth the wait live orchids in pots too! Asahi/Sapporo on tap and they have Shochu (Chum Churim) highly recommended. Very happy water indeed! Bring a group you will never finish what you order and the leftovers are fabulous the next day. Always a sign of quality and freshness.
