Had a lovely date with my husband this afternoon and decided to go to Groovy Tuesday. Service was impeccable and my husband was very happy with his burger. I was happy with my caprese and scallops but thought it could of been better with fresh mozzerella(boccini) and a few greens on the side. Thank you for the lovely meal

I came here tonight with my mom and fiancee. I called ahead to make a reservation for the patio and our table was ready when we arrived. Our server was wonderful. The specials all sounded delicious, we got the special flatbread, burger, and main! They were all so delicious. We got a bottle of wine too and it was served just as we like it. I also got the key lime cheesecake which was delish, and my mom got the creme brulee which was very well done. It was all so delicious and I'm truly so glad we went here tonight. I would highly recommend to friends and family!!

Had a great experience here a couple of years ago. This experience wasn't as great. We were there for a 12:30pm lunch. They were bringing in groceries while we were there (in my mind this should have been done before opening). The service was okay, but the staff was generally pre-occupied with the groceries. I would have had a second drink if someone had offered. The food was okay. Two of us had the French onion soup, both complained that it had a lot of thyme in it for some reason. My burger was a little overcooked and my bun was over toasted. My curried carrot soup was decent but a bit bland. If this had been my first experience, I'm not sure I would have returned.

Mainly a disappointment. Unless management wants to make it right (I'm not sure if they even read these reviews), I will not be returning and nor will any of the professional folks I was with. I will make sure to tell others that we speak with to avoid this restaurant as well. I had high hopes for this place considering the reviews, but alas, the reviews led me astray. Main issues: VERY long wait times for EVERYTHING and very little value for your EXPENSIVE main meals. I'm not exactly sure what all of the hype is about. I went with 4 other people to this restaurant this Saturday evening. Thank goodness our table ordered 2 bottles of wine because we'd otherwise be drinking water for 25 - 30 minutes waiting for our orders to be taken. No offer of bread or anything prior to us making our order. We then had to wait another 20 minutes for our appetizers. By this time they gave us one small slice of bread each person. I had to ask for more bread, as the server would never offer it to us. The appetizers were fine. I have no complaints there. Another 25 - 30 minutes of waiting for our mains. I had to ask the server for more bread as she definitely would not offer it to us. Again, one small slice each. The mains came along, and I had ordered the seafood medley with wild rice. Had I known that the dish was going to be mainly onions and tomato sauce, I would have passed for $36. There were literally 8 SMALL bites of seafood. Small chunks of shrimp etc. It was terrible. I was SO hungry afterwards. I wanted more bread so I could soak up the tomato sauce, but our server made it so that I had to ask for more bread, which I felt too shy to do. So, she promptly took away our bread basket without asking if we'd like more. I mean, I've dined at 3 michelin star restaurants across the world and even THEY would offer us more bread if we wanted without hesitation. Long story short, save your money and go elsewhere in Barrie. There must be other half decent places to enjoy a meal instead of waiting around for hours to be served sub par food.

First time dining here. Our meals were outstanding. The flavours were so unique and delicious. Nice cozy and charming environment. I felt a bit uneasy about social distances here. Felt a little too cozy as the place was packed. I will definitely come back when it’s not so busy. Best food in Barrie so far. Slightly better than urban dish.

The duck was tender and savory. The perfect hint of that sweetness creating a perfect balance of the pallet. The citrus was a perfect addition to balance the strength of the clove for a sensation that brought warmth and excitement. The combination of the duck and the Blackberry wine reduction was complete perfection in the mouth. A tapestry to be savoured while it lingers for the perfect amount of time after your finished each bite. The fingerlings were roasted to perfect tenderness of soft crispness allowing the flavour of the duck to resonate with the potatoes and again balance out ever so evenly flavoring it just enough to make them irresistibly smooth. The rapini was done al dente and whilst could have had had the stalk steamed prior creating the leaves to be less stringy however was a fantastic addition for something outside the traditional vegetable you would expect to be served and was seasoned to perfection The waitress Jade paired the meal with a three thrives cabernet sauvignon which pairs deliciously with the duck. She was friendly and wonderful. Was conversational and polite and very cheerful. The chef Robyn did an amazing job of cooking this meal and did not disappoint. As I saw this meal as a feature and was accommodated to be able to try this after the feature time. Hats down to the chef for his beautiful talents in the kitchen. This place must be added to your list of places to try and if if you already have been here you should visit on the regular.

Excellent food. A plus. Changing menu. One of the top 10 picks in barrie. The best home made burger ive ever had. The unique flavors keep me coming back. Have eaten there four times and pleased every time. And ive noticed most guests ive noticed leave happy. Ive told many of friend about this fine little diner / cool place to eat. Its priced right of fine well prepared food. My wife agrees with me. We love this place and would call it one of our all time favourite place to eat. GO HERE FOR OH SO GOOD FOOD GREAT JOB

I haven't been to ALL of Barrie's restaurants, but I've been to a good number and this is, by far, my favourite so far! The menu changes several times throughout the year, and it's always delicious with a good variety of dishes for all tastes and dietary requirements. Whether you're a meat eater, a vegan, or something in between, they'll have something for you. My favourite part about this place - the food actually has flavour. Something that is shockingly lacking from most places these days.

Holy smokes. I'm not joking - best food we've had. Like "Jonathan's of Oakville" good. Better than anything around. Nice atmosphere too. Small # of tables though, so get reservations. Food quality was top notch and legit everything tasted better than you'd expect. We like to rotate our date-nights across the best restaurants in the area, but we're thinking we'll just come here from now on.

Great service-very friendly, food presentation matched how delicious the meal was, non-standard and the menu had unique and interesting items but not to the point of being too crazy or intimidating. I liked the mirrors that allowed the food being plated to be seen. The bathroom was clean and offered individual cotton hand towels instead of paper or an air dryer

Tonight we had an incredible experience. The menu offered a variety of dishes. I had the evening Special-Delicious rack of lamb. Tender cuts cooked to perfection melted in your mouth. The staff were amazing, friendly and attentive. The food is prepared fresh and full of flavour.

This is a very nice and cozy little bistro in downtown Barrie, they have also a nice patio in the summertime. The menu looks amazing, very refined actually. We opted for the special of the day that was the Mussels dish, it was really nice, the mussels cooked perfectly and the flavors in the sauce were spot on. We also had the burger and fries. Everything was really nice. I definitely recommend this cozy spot specially for a romantic first date or anniversary. We loved the music playlist also. This place is not super expensive but is in the higher $$$. Good local beer on tap and a large selection of wine. If you are planning to come on a Friday or Saturday night I would recommend to reserve a table ahead of time.

This is just a wonderful place. I have never had anything here that didnt taste heavenly. Absoulutely a must go! Honestly I'm lost for words explaining how amazing this place is. Just the small details like the bread and butter that come to each table, fresh made and different every time we go there, to the mirror above the prep station, so you can see everything getting assembled together. What a pleasant surprise. The Spices Rum & Ginger Ale butter was to die for. The burger with bacon and cauliflower was also very good. Neat creative flavours in all the dishes. Very nice staff. Sunset patio a plus!

Came as a party of 10 for a team dinner after treetop trekking. The staff was accommodating and provided very fast and friendly service, especially since our party had members with dietary restrictions. We had ordered the scallops, cauliflower wedges, and beef sliders for appetizers. The beef sliders were especially good. The mains we ordered included the seared salmon, jalapeno chicken, and beef tenderloin. All the dishes were all delicious and beautifully plated as if they were from a TV show. The one thing on the rotating desert menu that was an acquired taste was the cinnamon creme brulee. The food was so good that we didn't have time to take pictures!

Based on the food, I would say definitely 5 stars - the reason for the 4 star rating is the fact that they have no wine list to peruse. This might not seem like a big deal but a restaurant that boasts transparency with an open concept kitchen should at least let their patrons choose their own wine. I felt a bit taken advantage of when I ordered a half litre of Shiraz and instead a $40 bottle was opened and served at the table. I just went with it because it was a special occasion but it would have been nice to be included in that decision. I feel like this is a sneaky thing to do and for this reason will not be returning to Groovy Tuesdays. Previously there had been a drink menu and wine list - makes no sense to me why this would be taken away.

One of my favourite restaurants in Barrie. Staff are extremely personable and the food here is great - they always switch up the menu to include in season produce. The inside is on the smaller side but allows for a cozy and intimate feel. Love how you can see into the kitchen and see your food being prepared as well. Would recommend trying the Caesar salad as it’s unique and better than most of the other high end restaurants in Barrie.

To the sweet potato scallop app. To the beef rib dinner and pork. Olive bread was served with red wine infused butter. It was one surprize after another of top quality and good food.

This was a first visit to Groovy but it won't be our last. The service was quick and friendly, and the food inventive and delicious. I started with the soup of the day, potato and leek, which was served hot and perfectly seasoned. While the menu isn't overly large, I had some difficulty choosing between (lunch) menu items and daily specials, as each had something interesting and unique to offer. I finally settled on a cauliflower panini, a tasty mix of roast cauliflower, sauteed onions, mushrooms, and zucchini, covered in a generous helping of mozzarella. I chose wisely. And will definitely be back.
