Went here with my boyfriend to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. We had a reservation for 7:30 and got our food promptly around 8! Very quick was already so impressed. The food was AMAZING I enjoyed every single thing. We got steak, shrimp and scallops and it was all perfect. The owner of the restaurant greeted us at our table to ask us how everything was and I was so blown away by that. Our waitress Alyssa was amazing and she even made sure to let us know many times that we did not have to rush and to enjoy our evening. to top off the night, upon checking our final bill we noticed our dessert was compensated. I cannot express how happy I feel about this experience. We will definitely be returning. The night was amazing. Thank you so much Baton Rouge for the exceptional food, the amazing customer service and all the amazing extras you provided us. Great job!!!!

This was my first time dining here. I went with my friend who's been before. She raved about the chicken strip platter so that's what I got. They give me the smallest portion of chicken strips I've ever seen. They were okay at best, and the portion of fries wasn't very generous either. The service was probably the best part of the meal, but I probably will not be going back.

I love this restaurant! Food was amazing. Steak was just as I liked it. The atmosphere was very pleasant. And entire place was spotless. I was watching the waitress cleaning the vine glass and she took time to remove every smudge. Very professional! The staff was very organized, no waiting. The owner came to check how was everything and that made us very appreciated, especially on busy evening. It was group of 8 people and we all left very satisfied. Definitely we’ll to go back very soon!

I came in today cause it was my friends birthday. The setting is very comfortable. The server Taylor was awesome! My steak came out alittle more rare than I wanted. It was quickly taken back and cooked alittle more. For the trouble, they offered me a piece of dessert (my choice). I told them I was quite fine with it being cooked alittle more for my friend and I were in no hurry but they insisted! Manager came over to make sure everything was good. The prices are alittle more pricey but for a couple bucks more, its better than like Swiss or Kelseys( which are good foods) but the atmosphere is more classy (fine dining). Happy customer, will be back ????

I would love to give this place 0 stars but I guess I have to give it at least 1. We went out to diner here last night, only to have received my meal with a hair in the rice pilaf. We had made the waitress aware of it who in turn brought over the manager. From what I could understand the manager had told us we wouldn't be paying for my meal, however when it was time to pay I went to the bathrrom and met my partner outside. I had gotten the Santa Fe chicken. They didn't offer me a new meal so I had to ask if they could replace the rice with something else. Didn't want to eat the rice after finding a hair in it especially with covid-19 being a serious thing. I also had to ask for a new plate to put my chicken on. When I got outside my partner informed me that he had paid full price for our meals and that the only thing they had given to us for free was the fries that they had replaced my rice with. I find this extremely unacceptable in these times. The waitress had asked him if he would like to speak to the manager again and he said no. Honestly having worked in the restaurant industry myself, both the waitress and manager should have been on the same page and we shouldn't have to wait around and beg for a discount. We were traveling due to medical reasons and would have expected to be compensated for our meal. Such a poor experience. Should have gone to Applebee's.

Went here a few times was my favourite restaurant until the one time I come in I asked for my steak to be absolutely plain no garlic butter or garnish because I’ve been here before and asked for it without it and it was perfect I got my meal and there was green onions and garlic butter I told the server and everything was all good and even had a manager come up to get some cheaper quality steak that was not a filet mignon I didn’t say anything and just left it pretty sad especially when choosing Baton Rouge did not expect this from them

Food is decent at best. I got the cheapest steak, $28 if I remember correctly and I got, the cheapest steak, if you catch my drift. It was mostly white, chewy fat, and the steamed vegetables were mushy and bland (as was the steak - bland). Basically, the food is nothing special and it's overpriced. Only reason I'd go back is to try the ribs which I hear are good. But, I don't think I'll be going back. Service is good by the way, but that means nothing if the food is bad.

This was my first time at the establishment tonight after my friend has been raving about it. Was sat at a tiny table on the other side of the wine display case in an empty restaurant. The groves in-between the glass had old french fries wedged in between, along with a thick layer of dust. The servers congregated at the bar like a high-school cafeteria, gossiping and being loud despite customers starting to enter for dinner. The bartender gave herself a new hair style behind the bar, not washing her hands after and proceeding to make drinks. I wont be going out of my way when traveling to come back for a subpar meal and dining experience. Maybe I came on an off night but cleanliness and first impressions make a big impact on first time patrons.

Very disappointed, won't be back. Ordered ceasar salad and it came with romaine lettuce , some croutons, dressing and powdered parmesan. Should have had fresh parmesan and I should have been offered fresh parmesan by the waitress. Worst caesar salad and I had to pay $5 extra . Our order came and it was wrong, I had the baked potato and my my husband had fries. They brought it back and by the time it came the baked potato was cold. I had to ask for butter. I had to ask twice for napkins. The ribs were dry and burnt on the outside. Very expensive dinner considering service and food

My wife and I went on a Sunday night. We sat out under the canvas area. Our server was Rebecca, she was marvellous. Her bilingual skills were first rate. She was attentive and her service was quick. I had the prime rib with shrimp and a large baked potato. My wife had the rake of ribs and we both enjoyed our meals. We thoroughly had a great time at Baton Rouge. Thank you Rebecca!

The parking is terrible but the overall feel and ambiance is nice. For four of us we ordered 2 appetizers stuffed mushrooms and crab cakes. The crab cakes were were most definitely frozen and had no or little taste and the stuffed mushrooms we sent back because they tasted Funky. So we were not off to a good start but we tried to stay positive about our main courses. We all ordered steaks and they also seemed to be frozen and not very tasty. We then had some desert and coffee which was nice. Time for the bill...The bill was for 259 dollars before tip, which is ok for a night out at a Good restaurant. But I was surprised to see that only the Funky mushrooms had been removed from the bill. Any other restaurant would have comped the other appetizer or your deserts. Suffice to say we will be going to the Keg next time out.

They took care of us well and if/when we're back in Barrie in the future, we have a standing reservation to visit again! Came here with a party of 8 on Sept 26th for my sister’s birthday. When we arrived, we were correctly asked to provide proof of vaccination and ID. However, since there were so many of us in the entrance they asked us to move to the table and they would come back and check our info then. But not before asking my wife for her vaccine and ID. When we got to the table they never came back to check the rest of us. This wouldn’t be a big issue, except that my wife was the only “Asian” in the group. So outwardly, you can see why this would be upsetting to her. Aside from that insult, the food was good. While the ladies who served us were pleasant, the service itself wasn’t amazing, there were a few items forgotten about but we were understanding as the whole industry is lacking people. I don’t know that I’d rush back, but there wasn’t anything particularly wrong either. Hence, the 3/5 rating. I’m not saying that my wife was intentionally singled out however, just consider how it looks and how it might feel if the shoe were on the other foot.

Over all terrible experiences! They need some new recipes. Every dish was flavorless, dry and gross. It was our first time here and as soon as we walked in we questioned if they were closed because we were standing there for 5 minutes confused and looking around, until a girl popped around the corner and said hello. The waitress did her job perfectly but the manager kept creeping behind the wall watching every customer placed up against the opposite side of the room and there was only 8 people. The manager made us feel uncomfortable as he watched us like we were his workers but we were just customers trying to enjoy our food. We ordered the deal for 2 for $50 and started with the cheese dip. Well for started the cheese didn't even taste like cheese, we barely touched any of it. Then we both ordered the steak entrees; my steak was dry, over cooked and tasteless, my garlic mash potatoes were brown which I found a little odd. My boyfriends steak was also tasteless but cooked properly and he just got a huge handful of fries as his side. Then the cake came and I'm like this is it, I love red velvet, it was SO dry it tasted like it had been sitting in he fridge for a month! Over all our meal was $92 and I will never return to this place until they add flavour to their dishes and the cook puts more effort into their work and the manager stops watching you like you're one of his employees in training!!! Terrible terrible first experience! We thanked the waitress for serving us but told her the food over all wasn't a good experince and she apologised and said hopefully next time it's better. But I won't be returning.

Recent visit (Feb 16) the food was terribly lacking. Ordered ribs and chicken fingers which is my usual there; ribs had sauce burnt on and chicken batter was inconsistent, thick and flavorless. They have also changed the recipe for the beans (ketchup base?) and slaw (flavorless), both of which are worse for the change. I don't know if they have new chefs or are cutting costs but was very disappointed with the quality and cannot recommend this location to anyone who likes this brand. Note: I ate there in September and none of these problems existed. For the price, will not return as there are other options without these flaws.

Very small portions. Terrible service. Party of 4. My wifes order came 10 minutes or more after everyone else had been served. We have manners in my family so we waited until she was served before we all ate. This caused all the other 3 dishes to be cold. To top it off her food was inedible. She could not eat it. My ribs portion was very small and sub-par same as the lobster tail that came with it. More of a large prawn than a lobster. I would recommend going to Montanas rather than this establishment. Very unhappy.

My family and I have eaten here a few times. Our first night out was on my birthday this year and we met the owner. Young, eager for input, and open to suggestions. When we mentioned a dish being a bit overcooked, or something we really liked in regards to the food prep he seemed keenly interested. Returning a month later he remembered us, seated us, and recalled what we talked about. He told us about changes, remains open to discussing the way food us sourced and prepped. He has a lot more experience working in the industry than we thought as well, and personally knows what to do. Any business owner can tell you that getting and retaining great staff can be the toughest task. Speaking of staff... We had Marjorie serve us a few times now. Her humour is great and she tolerates us well! If you love to have a witty person who can keep up with the family smart ass, or if you just want to get a meal and eat with minimal interruption just let her know. She delivers a great dining experience. 5 star is the potential here, and the mix of service and an attentive owner makes this happen. The odd meal when there is a concern is addressed when we mention it. The experiences have been all positive. As a small business owner myself I know it can be tough to deliver a 5/5 every time, but you learn and improve. I hope to have many more meals here as the years go by. By all means give them a shot. If you are not happy, talk to the owner. He is attentive and works hard to build a great business. In many places talking to a manager is all you can do, but here we have a chance to help a young business professional, talk to him about our experience, and get both direct feedback and an improved experience each visit. Hence a 5 star here in Barrie.

I called earlier in the week to book a reservation. While giving the details I was asked “are you celebrating anything special” this was the beginning of an amazing experience. I explained it was our wedding day but... covid. She made a note. It was delicately mentioned when we were being seated and the waitress mentioned it. Even brought us a special dessert plate. (See photo) although it was bittersweet, your staff made our night special. Hands down, the absolute best service and experience. It’s a higher end restaurant. And you deserve every one of those 5 stars!! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, you made our night memorable!!

My husband & I were just at this BR. What a lovely place! The decor and ambience are wonderful. Our meals were really delicious. I had the vegetable sandwich and he had the pork rib sandwich. The service was friendly and efficient, thanks to our server, Paria. The place has been under new management since January; the new owner, Bardia, is doing his utmost to undo the reputation that the previous owner had. I highly recommend a visit here.

Food and service were fantastic here. We came here without an appointment but we came around 3 so there wasn’t much people anyways. We were welcomed by the owner, and led to a table by one of the waiters. Then we were served drinks. By the time we waited for the drinks the owner came and greeted us . Then we ordered the food and it didn’t-take long till we had our food on the table. We had lobster soup, lobster salad and lobster ravioli coz why not. My son had the steak and lobster tail (surf and turf). The stake was excellent, very well done, and in general, all the food tasted amazing. I will come back here and recommend this place to others. Thank you so much for the great food and service.

Slow on service on this night. Food was decent but warm at best. Unfortunately I think they were understaffed for a 2/3 full house. Shame they are a good alternative on a Saturday night when the usual suspects are packed. Waited only a few minutes for a table.

We’ve given these guys a lot of chances as we used to love their Vaughan location but no more. Go somewhere else, there are so many great options in Barrie. Last visit the service was slow, no one came to our table for 15 minutes to ask if we wanted a drink and we almost left, none of the food was hot, just luke warm, and we had to ask for wine three times, including getting up and going to the bar to try and get service. Beyond mediocre.

Went back here on Sunday (was originally here two days ago on Friday with the best server, Taylor, and food that was oh so good!) to try their prime rib with veggies and baked potato with Caesar salad to die for. All excellent. My rare-ordered prime rib came out more like medium-rare and the manager/owner gladly took care of it right away, with an apology and some free desserts. The new piece of rare prime rib was devine, as was the humongous loaded baked potato, and the veggies were so fresh and deliciously prepared! My brother-in-law had a sirloin steak 14 oz with mushrooms - and a baked potato and veggies that he devoured. He said the steak was excellent / perfect, as well as the veggies being fabulous My husband and daughter really enjoyed their prime rib, mashed potatoes, Caesar salad, and cheeseburger with fries. My teenage daughter commented that her cookie dessert ala mode was the best one she had ever had. My creme brulee trio was decadent, and the other two had to take their desserts to go.

Worst meal ever. My husband, myself and our daughter went for dinner at Baton Rouge, Sunday the 19th. It was an unpleasant experience all around really. Our waitress was okay, but that was the only thing satisfactory about our dinner besides the fries. The menu is pretty small. We wanted to share an appetizer before our meal as we were famished after not eating much all day. We’re both not huge seafood lovers which was what the majority of the appetizer menu depicted. We ordered the shrimp which was cooked in a tangy, sweet and spicy sauce served on a bed of slaw. The shrimp was ok, but the shareable meal was mainly slaw, not shrimp. I had also went into Baton Rouge convinced I would not be ordering a burger for dinner. Sure enough, after checking their menu, I ordered the Baton Rouge burger due to limited choices.I at least was under the impression it would be decent since it was their signature burger. My husband ordered their full course prime rib meal deal for $25. We awaited our meals while our daughter ate her chicken fingers and French fries which were actually pretty good. No complaints with her meal. When our meals arrived, everything looked good, presentation was nice and portion size was decent. Cutting into my burger was where the satisfaction came to a halt. My patty was so red inside, it completely grossed me out. When the waitress came back to check on our meal I explained that I wanted my burger cooked more, she agreed and took it away. When she came back with another burger, my family was pretty much done with their meals. I checked my burger again with the waitress at the table. It was no better. Now I hate wasting food, especially meat and I started to get overwhelmed. I told her I was still not comfortable eating it as my husband and I both just got over food poisoning. I told her to ask the cook to burn it if he had to, as I was not eating it. She took it back for a second time. We sat and waited for a third burger while everyone was done eating, hoping that they would cook it well so that we could just leave and continue on our 2 hour drive home. The third burger came and I was still not satisfied. It looked no different to me and at this point I was extremely overwhelmed, and feeling sick. I told her it was “fine” and that I would just eat it because I was not going to allow a third patty to go to waste. I haven’t sent a meal back as a complaint in probably 10 years. I had a few bites, which to be fair, was not horrible. We asked for our bill right away, turning away the desserts that came with my husband and daughters meal and leaving the unfinished burger. It was obvious we were upset. The bill came quickly, and we weren’t surprised to see not a single item had been compensated, not even the burger. We paid the $100 bill (including tip) and will NOT be back. I scarcely give out 1 star reviews. This establishment earned it. Note, the manager did come out to ask how the burger was, but at that point, it was too late. I was not wasting anymore food, felt horrible, and just wanted to get out of there. This whole uncomfortable situation had dragged on way too long. This experience has unfortunately ruined my perception of Baton Rouge restaurants, as this was the first one we have dined at.

For some of us eating out is not a regular experience. So when you go out you expect the food and the overall experience to be good or you may as well have stayed at home right? Last week we went to the Barrie Baton Rouge and we were totally blown away. We were treated like a King and Queen! The people were amazing and the food was the same. My wife is a very fussy eater and can not stand any pepper or hot spice of any kind. The chef came right to our table asked her exactly how she would like her food prepared in every detail. We were recommended wine and were able to taste several before we decide on one. Because of the New Owners genuine attentiveness and pleasant friendly nature it far exceeded both our expectations. If you want an eating experience where you are treated like family I Highly recommend you pay them a visit. Genuinely, Jim & MC.

Totally disappointed! The item on the menu that I came in for was no longer on the menu (boo Corporate! The Lobster Risotto was the best!) The meal I ordered in place did not say spicy but was too spicy to even eat. No one asked if the meal was fine. Our sever disappeared constantly and did not bring drinks as requested. It took 25 minutes for her to take two meals to be put in take out containers....one at s time...when they were asked to be boxed at the same time. Never going back. This was my favourite "fantasy" restaurant. Destroyed the desire.

This is a long overdue review. I have been eating here weekly for the past 2 years, Bardia along with his parents and his sister run a very tight ship here, the food quality control is next level and the training I have personally watched that goes into teaching his staff how to correctly deal with customers in a professional manner is incredible, when I am in Barrie this is my goto spot whether I'm eating alone or with a party we are always treated like royalty and never leave unhappy. By this time I know all the staff by name, and I would consider Bardia a very close personal friend, if you ate here before they took over management and were dissatisfied, I urge you to give them another shot! I promise you will not be disappointed.

Baton Rouge on Bayfield is just like Houstons (the restaurant that was there before it). The service was good but the quality of the food was terrible, especially for the price. First off, the Caesar salad was nothing special; it was a bowl of lettuce with grocery store croutons with a rationing of dressing. The lack of effort of the Caesar Salad was truly disappointing. My husband and I both ordered Steak which was recommended by the waitress as it is "what they are known for". Both of our steaks were undercooked (we ordered medium rare and rare and them came rare and blue). The vegetables were bland and partially steamed. At the end of our meal, we were asked how our meals were. We had to disclose the poor quality of our meal. In return, we were offered a free dessert, which we did not want. Then we were offered two vouchers worth $30 to use on our next visit. We were told we couldn't use them for our current bill which was unfortunate as we will not be returning. We wished we had read the reviews before we went here especially as we hesitated on going here because of the extremely poor experience we had at the prior Houston restaurant. Don't waste your money! Go to The Keg!

This was our first time. Went for a late lunch, owner seated us and Taylor was our server. Both were very nice and gave recommendations. 3 of us had the chicken sandwiches and 1 had a salad, everything was delicious. Lunch comes with soup and tea or coffee which was a nice surprise. None of us had the soup as it was beef and we don't eat red meat but my husband and I had tea and coffee.

Your expectations are always high when you dine with friends at an "upscale" chain restaurant, and Baton Rouge in Barrie exceeded them! It had been a few years since I have visited Baton Rouge and the design and decor was surprisingly fresh and of very high quality. The service was 5 star, with the correct amount of polish and presentation from our waitress. The food (ribs of course) were superb! Well done and worth a visit again soon.

Server was friendly and professional, however, not all the food we ordered was good in our visit. I enjoyed lobster ravioli. Also, we ordered medium rare steak, but got medium well. Knife for the steak was provided in a dirty napkin, which although was promptly replaced with a new one. Wouldn't recommend espresso there. Lychee sangria was delicious and great summer option. Overall, 3 stars for the prompt server response and somewhat tasty meal.

The only thing good about this place is the staff that work here. Nice and attentive. Unfortunately, these poor guys and girls have to work for a giant piece of work… due to some seating misunderstanding, we were moved shortly after we sat down, which is perfectly fine, but the way the owner/manager did it was just rude. He interrupted his own staff mid sentence so can move us. No apologies or anything. He then dismissed the staff so he could continue talking! Food is nothing worth mentioning. Certainly not worth the $ you’re paying for. ????I can see you clearly put a lot of effort into the response. My first name is Dennis. I most definitely won’t be coming back here. We celebrate my boyfriend's birthday last night. It's amazing dinner we love every single food we ordered. I highly recommend the Prime Rib for meat lovers. Took 15 minutes (seated at the bar) to get a server to even acknowledge our presence. To be told she will be with us shortly. Another 10 minutes to finally be asked if we would like drinks... When our one beer (served with dirty glass on the side) and margarita finally arrived it was 25 minutes after we walked in the door. I know this is a new business, and hopefully they get the kinks worked out, because the actually layout/ atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice. Will give it a second chance of the hopes that it was just a bad night

We had our Employee Christmas Party here on Saturday evening and there were about 30 of us. There was a bit of planning to be done, and I had contacted BARDIA BAFTI, Owner Operator of this location to assist with the particulars. Bardia was extremely helpful with getting the setup started and finished with our evening.... the serving staff at this location kept the drinks full and the food was served quickly, hot and without error. Food tasted good, though unremarkable and without any creative differentiating influence that sets it apart from any other steakhouse. Menu was overpriced for what's on offer and the prices available at restaurants offering similar fare. Server brought me the wrong wine, then insisted the wine I ordered didn't exist on the menu and that what they had brought me was actually right. Not liking being told I'm wrong when I'm not as an added feature to an expensive lunch, I asked that the menu be returned and showed them exactly the wine I said I had ordered, only to receive apologies and an offer to bring me said originally ordered wine when the server finally realized they'd made an error and didn't know their menu as well as they had assumed. I declined to avoid the food waste caused by their error, but of course the product wasn't comped like it would be in most classier restaurants. Overall, not an experience that makes you need to return for more.

This is a great restaurant. We were a party of 5 driving to cottage country and stopped for lunch here. The hostess were very courteous and invited us to have seats either in the patio which is very spacious or inside and we chose the patio. The owner of the restaurant personal came to our table to greet us and made excellent suggestions on the drinks and also the food. The foods were amazing and so were the drinks. We ordered variety of foods from burgers to sea food and everyone was satisfied. The hostess were very friendly and professional. I highly recommend this restaurant

I was looking forward to a nice Dinner . After driving around to find the parking lot (construction ) we finally got to the restaurant . Friendly hostess and a very good waiter awaited us. My husband chose roast beef and I had surf and turf .The wine was excellent . Not so the food . My plate looked empty , the meat was nervy and altogether the meal was not what i am used to . My husband's meat was fatty and very thinly sliced .The cheesecake was ok , however , the bottom crust was awful . All together , for &165 I would have liked a better meal . We go out a lot for dinner , this a the worst I had in a long time . Sorry , but only because of the service I will give you two stars . Otherwise it would not even two stars . What a disappointing evening .

GROSS & Disgusting! Found a very very long black curly hair in my vegetables. When I showed it to the waiter, he brought my plate to the manager whom never came out to see me by the way, and then the waiter who couldn’t care less told me that since this is fairly common, they were willing to give me a free dessert. What?!! Excuse me.... come on? I’ve got short purple hair and they made me feel like I was trying to get a free meal. I refused the dessert to prove a point, then they knocked off my drink from the bill... I told him I wanted to pay for my drink and that I didn’t appreciate the way they handled the matter. Our bill was $162... we can afford to pay for our meal that wasn’t the issue. The waiter was cold with us and the couple we were with, took his time to offer everyone else a coffee or dessert and on top of which, when we all declined anything else, he already had the bills ready. This has never happened to me before.... will never go back there and will never recommend this restaurant!

The atmosphere is nice, the waiter we had was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was just meh. We ordered calamari, which has a smoky flavour to it which we didn't enjoy. The steak was flavorless minus the tons of black pepper on top, my baked potato was cold. It's like they put the cold sour cream in it and left it sitting there while they made everything else. Sauteed mushrooms were $8!!! To add. Yes $8 damn dollars for a side of mushrooms. 2 steak dinners and 2 expensive sides of mushrooms and 1 beer and 1 Caesar was over $130. I could have went to the keg and had a much better meal for that price.

I usually love the food here. This time it wasnt the greatest. We were there for our Anniversary. My steak was overcooked and my hubby's ribs were dry. While the friendly host and energetic waitress were the highlights of my group's experience at Bâton Rouge everything stoped short after our drink orders. As a group of three we were intrigued by the deal for two as our third fell for the pasta special. My fiance and myself ordered the Chicken tenders as the appetizer, steak for myself (medium rare), and for my fiance the ribs. My fiance having a moment of panic when the chicken tenders seemed undercooked, I was concerned that the owner was serving us the dish with a poorly wrapped bandaid on his thumb. For a place that as Steakhouse in the name they seem to lack the ability to cook a steak to the request of a patron, why bother asking how they like it if your not going to make it their way. The steak was rare and had no taste, I added salt and pepper to give it any resemblance of taste, as the mashed potatoes and steak may as well have been made from the same thing. My fiances ribs tasted as if they were bathing under the heat lamp for a better part of the day. It is hard to imagine a place of such clearly poor care to its patrons reminds me why I never wanted to come to this establishment. For such an expensive experience I can not imagine myself coming here again.

Went for dinner last night with friends and had an awesome time! Food was amazing! From drinks, appetizers to mains, everything was perfect. The staff were really great, Manager checked on us, and our server Jenna was the best! She made the whole experience that much better with her great service and humour. We felt so welcomed by her, and laughed along with our silly jokes. We highly recommend this location, and even more so we need to support our local businesses. Definitely will be returning.

We have been to other locations several times, all great experiences. When we arrived at this location we were seated promptly however that was the best of our experience. After approximately a 20 minute wait the waitress brought our wine. (There were only 5 occupied tables). It was another 45 minutes until our salads arrived. Our burgers were an additional 25 minutes. Needless to say, we will not be returning.

Can't understand all these good reviews... We've just came out from the "steakhouse". Waiters came to our table 3 times, and every time we had to call for them (5 tables in total outside for 4 waiters). We ordered the spinach dip, not good. Tasted like a jello... Lobster bisque was very clumpy. The steak was horrible. I had to spit it out, as it was non-chewable. The bok choy was not tasty either. My husband's plate was better. He liked the ribs, but the coleslaw looks like baby food. My son's plate with chicken fingers and fries was bad, too. The butter separated from the meat, and therefore it was not tasty. We wasted $120, but I know that this will be our first and last time at this restaurant. Overall, my whole family is pretty upset, as we were choosing between this one and Apple Bees.

My husband had a surprise bday dinner arranged for me and the staff had the flowers he brought to the restaurant before we arrived all ready set up at our table and the cake he brought in they also took care of it and surprised me after dinner with bringing it out. It was amazing the Tuna Tataki appetizer is the best and my prime rib was done to perfection and my hubbies Santa Fe chicken was awesome as well. Cant say enough about this place was fantastic great work and please keep it up!!!! Oh and it was so good we brought our friends there 4 days later for dinner. Thank you for the great times.

Soup was good, but comes with nothing, no bread, crackers or anything. Waited 12 minutes for bread after I asked (while soup got cold), then after I asked for the manager, he delivered finally the bread. Was given free deserts to make up for extremely poor service. We just had a bad waitress, the other server we saw working the other table looked like she was doing a great job. After food was brought, never saw our waitress again until bill time except for when I had to go find her. Had horrible allergic reaction to drink after 2 sips and still had to pay for it. That's just WRONG.

I had the new Ricards Red French onion soup as an appetizer. It was so good and filling! And filet mignon for supper. Everything was cooked perfectly! I had veggies and a baked potato with extra toppings. I was a little disappointed in the potato as it was just a tiny slit on the top with a little cheese and sour cream. Not enough for the whole potato. It was too dry so I had to ask for more sour cream. For the extra cost you would think they would load the potato with toppings. Otherwise my meal was perfect. Washrooms were clean. Server was attentive. Food came quickly. Had a good experience.

Ordered sauted mushrooms for my steak and they were delish but were $8. Steak was well cooked but had little taste. Two steak dinners 2 drinks and an appetizer and we we were well over $135 before tip. We tried this spot as another option for the Keg but will definitely be going back to the Keg.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Baton Rouge. Our server really ensured we were well taken care of. The owner, Jose was frequently seen among the tables ensuring everyone was satisfied and happy with their meal. The steaks were cooked perfectly, except for one that was slightly over cooked, it was ordered medium and came well done. They offered to replace, but my sister said it still tasted good and kept it. The server must have told the owner who came out promptly told us that we did not have to pay for the steak. Wine selection was good. They even put a sparkler on my sisters dessert as it was their wedding anniversary. The patio is noisy as its on a main street, but this isn't anything they have control over. The only negative thing I can say is the have mostly high tables on the patio which we had difficulty sitting at. With the restaurants opening next week for dining, this will be resolved. Kudos to the owner for being present and checking in on his clients.

This restaurant is a completely bizarre anomaly to me in my experience with food. I was under the impression that this would be a moderate budget restaurant for the middle class family income on a similar level as the Keg. While the restaurant styles itself well with very nice interior decor and a fairly comfortable atmosphere, not to mention decent elbow room, that is where the similarities seem to end. The service was slow, although I'll give them some benefit of the doubt seeing as I was in a large group, but the waiter only came around every twenty minutes or so, even when we were prepared to order. The menu has a medium selection, not too many things to make one question whether the for is actually being made there but too many to believe that they are confident in the ability of several fantastic dishes to satisfy the majority. Looking through the selection of food paints a different picture. Where I was expecting to be met with a selection of dishes akin to the quality of a meal from the Keg I found a selection more akin to an Applebee's. Plenty of dishes were fried or a fusion of very plain bases with a selection of toppings meant to make the food appear more put together than it was. I ordered a chicken dish with a side of garlic mashed potatoes. The chicken was a piece of breaded and fried chicken was a thick layer of sauce and vegetables atop it, as if to obscure the view of the fried chicken. The hardest part about this dish is that it had potential, had the chicken been roasted with a quarter of the sauce and toppings it would have been a very nice dish. My garlic mashed potatoes could only be described as odd. The flavour was not right in any way, and I'm not even certain real potatoes were used. If it was instant powdered mashed potatoes I would find no surprise. We were also visited frequently by the cook and the owner checking that everything was okay, which in most restaurants of this scale would have been a nice personal touch, but left me feeling like they were hovering over us to try to put out fires as they appear. I spoke to the owner about my inedible mashed potatoes who offered me a complimentary dessert to make up for my disappointment. The dessert never arrived. Overall, I give this restaurant 2 stars. I will certainly not be returning and advise others that are not a fan of overly Americanized cuisine to avoid this as well. I would have much rather spent the money I did at the Keg if I was looking for a chain restaurant, or one of Barrie's many other fantastic options such as the Painter's Hall Bistro, Crazy Fox Bistro, or Michael and Marion's. Barrie has so much to offer I will happily dine at 100 other restaurants before this one crosses my mind again.

Went to the Barrie location after being in Toronto a few times and loving it. Unfortunately the Barrie location did not live up to the standards. Our meals took forever, our meat was cold, the size of ribs was ridiculous so tiny. The Caesar salad had an odd taste. Overall pretty disappointing. Only good part was the waitress, she was an absolute sweetheart.

Everything was so perfect. The service was 10/10. The food 10/10. The owner Jose even came to our table and introduced himself. The menu looks pricey but the portion sizes vs cost leaves you feeling like you underpaid! If you’re looking for an upscale dining experience without leaving hungry, or feeling ripped off, this is the steak house for you. Whenever I want a steak this is without a question where I will be going!

First time, great service excellent food, THE PRIME RIB SANDWICH IS TO DIE FOR....I made the mistake of not getting this and had a bite of my girlfriends, needless to say i will never pass up on that again if i cant decide on ribs or steak... the price is high but the quality definitely represents the higher price. Will be back again, maybe next time with a bigger party.

Great atmosphere, lovely wait staff, and a quality meal. You really do "get what you pay for." Large portion sizes, "to die for" garlic mashed potatoes, and I would highly recommend the prime rib! First time visiting and I will surely recommend it to friends and family.

Great experience here every time. Nice atmosphere, excellent food and cocktails and great service. Friendly and attentive staff. Convenient location in Barrie if you shop often at Georgian mall or the other shops on Bayfield. We love the Lobster stuffed mushrooms with spinach and cheddar, and the Classic top sirloin steak. And of course, the sweet ending with their perfect Creme brulee!! This restaurant offers one of the finest creme brulee's by far in the region!

Very nice atmosphere. Took the kids after skiing the day away at Moonstone/Mt. St. Louis. Very accommodating to allergies. The host made our server aware right away. All the food we orded was delicious and served hot and in a reasonable time frame. Would recommend to try when in the area.

Went to this place to have dinner with my family. Waited more than 20min on the table to order. It wasn't that busy either. Guest who came after us were being served. Sadly left the place and came to Keg. Amazing service here. Right away took our order and drinks and appetizers are served. They are super busy but knows how to take care of good customers. Surely took the right decision. Changing sign and light doesn't make you classy unless your service reflects. This was my second but last visit to this place for sure. Goodluck ????

Picked this place at random for dinner during a trip to Barrie. A little hard to find even though it's right on Bayfield Rd. Lots of parking behind as it turns out, great decor, attentive and helpful staff, and a very engaged owner/manager. I was really not expecting something so nicely decorated at that location. Oh, and the food was really good too.

Service wasn't great, didn't get checked in often. Staff had minimal idea about the menu aside from specials they couldn't give detailed answers about some questions. Prices were super high, we drank water and STILL spent like $130. Chairs weren't comfortable. Table we had was rocky, was afriad is break the glasses on the table. Veggies were undercooked. Meat was cooked nicely and I mean considering its a steak house I'd hope so. Potatoes were bland. Salad and steak were the only things I enjoyed. Needless to say I won't be returning.

We came here to celebrate our anniversary on Saturday. We usually go to the keg but wanted to switch it up. Won’t make that mistake again! Every aspect was lacking. It started with the hostess - she first tried to seat us awkwardly close to another couple, and since it was only 4:00 and the restaurant was mostly empty we asked for a more private table. She moved us, only to have the manager chime in after we were seated to remind her that the table was needed for a large reservation, so she moved us again...to a dirty table. 4th time’s a charm! Our server didn’t improve our experience at all. She didn’t seem familiar with the menu, and she said there was only one brand of Cabernet available from the list of 6+ on the menu. It happened to be the most expensive, so that seemed off to me. The food came out quickly, but it was not worth the price. I had the prime rib sandwich, it was good but nothing special. Husband got the ribs, and what little meat was on the bone tasted like it was a day old. Fries were soggy. And there were fruit flies buzzing around! We would’ve had a better meal at Swiss Chalet, and for half the price. The manager was visiting with other tables but never came back to us, so I guess he wasn’t interested in everyone’s feedback. All-around bad experience, we definitely will not be back.

Took my parents to this location after my mothets final Radiation treatment for a celebratory lunch. Upon arrival we were notified that the heat wasn't working which was no big deal to us. We were seated immediately and ordered our drinks and food shortly after. The server was great and the owner came and apologized for the heat not working and gave us a gift card for our next visit which wasn't necessary but appreciated all the same. The calamari was delicious and the ribs were outstanding. We will definitely be back next time we are in town.

Service was ok hence one star. Found hair in my salad, I understand this can happen but when I was told it would be taken of the bill it was not. When the main meal arrived my onion straws where stale and ice cold just like the potato soup my boyfriend had for his app and rice undercooked. I had such high expectations after waiting a long time to try this spot out, most deffently will not be returning.

Extremely disappointed. Had my father from out of town and treated him to dinner. We got the spinach dip that soup would have been thicker. We both had the steak, it was cooked perfectly and very tender but had no flavor whatsoever. Dropping it on the floor would have seasoned it better. The sad thing was the highlight of the meal was the garlic mash potatoes. The most disappointing part was the owner was there and made his rounds to each table asking how everything was and made zero effort to correct anything. He was at our table 3 times and that was still 1 more time beyond what the waitress was.... I have no problem paying top dollar for top quality food, but this was totally unacceptable price vs quality. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere but here.

Food was great, liked the idea of a virtual menu as well. COVID set up, is a little strange but works. We sat on the patio and were beside some kind of birthday party, which was very loud and the staff seemed to know them, I could hear the people at my own table at times BUT again we did enjoy ourselves.

Wow! What a treat Batôn Rouge was. My wife and I had dinner here and ordered steak with lobster bisque, and the Thai steak salad bowl. I could cut my steak with a fork, it (they) were perfectly done. Our appetizer, calamari, was surprisingly done perfectly and was not pre-frozen. Service was punctual and genuinely friendly. A+! The decor is typical for a steak house, no real complaints. Though I find the backing of their booth rather odd and uncomfortable. My wife didn't agree :) We'll definitely be back. As a side note, we met the manager and he was also really friendly and a pleasure to speak with. Cheers!

AMAZING SERVICE AND DELICIOUS FOOD This was our first time eating at a Baton Rouge and I can say for sure that we will be back! The restaurant was quite busy but our server Jane made us feel as though we were the only ones there. She took the time to answer questions and make wonderful suggestions. On her advice, we ordered the crab appetizer and lobster mushrooms which were both delicious. For dinner I had the surf and turf and my steak was cooked to perfection. My husband ordered the ribs and said they were the best he'd ever had! Sadly we did not save room for dessert but Jane highly recommended the creme Brule and we will definitely be back for it another time. We are looking forward to our next visit to Baton Rouge.

Atmosphere was very nice and clean. Went on a Thursday night and it was pretty busy so service was a little slow but all the servers seem to help out each other. I got the top sirloin steak rare and it was very chewy. I had to spit parts of it out. My jaw was sore by the end of the meal. My boyfriend had the primerib. Even it was a bit chewy. I would go back but next time try the chicken.

The best steak around ???? I will be coming back every time I am in Barrie. Customer service was amazing. We were greeted by the owner and led to our table where we had a phenomenal waitress. We got the fillet mignon and the prime rib sandwich. Amazing. Tender. You could taste the fact that it was not pre cooked. The chocolate mousse was presented beautifully with taste to match. Locally owned with an open and cool atmosphere, fantastic food and drinks. I would travel to Barrie just to eat here again.

We showed up, loved the ambiance. We weren't able to sit in the dinning room as they were closing it down early, oh well, no big deal. Our starter came before the wine, and our burger came with fries instead of the poutine we ordered. By the time my burger was finished there still wasnt a server to check up on our food so we had to wave down another one. She took the fries out of my hand that i was eating and said she would go get a poutine made.. but at that point my meal was over because what do i eat while i wait? The owner came up and spoke to me. He was extremely professional and understanding. He explained that the restaurant was taken over a year ago and theyre still breaking some bad habits with the staff. I totally understand this was an isolated incident and i would eat here again. The food is great and they have a wonderful wine menu!

My wife and I went here for the first time tonight, though I've been to other Baton Rouge Steakhouses. We both really enjoyed it. The server was very nice and attentive with good timing. I had the steak and lobster. The steak was a nicely aged and spiced Angus beef cooked perfectly to my liking (rare) and well rested. The lobster tail was also cooked perfectly with a pleasant flavour, not bitter like some. I normally don't care for any sauce on my steak but for some reason the hollandaise worked very well with the steak, lobster and asparagus. I happen to like my vegetables crunchy and full of flavour rather than the mushy affair seen at many places so they were cooked perfectly as well. My wife's steak was also cooked perfectly. She had the crab cake which she quite enjoyed as well. Top it off with a nice glass of wine and a reasonable price and I left feeling that I received good value, good food and good service. First time my husband and I have been there. Went in the restaurant was spotless. Our server was wonderful. Now the food, my husband had the lunchtime steak....Wow it's the best steak he every had in Barrie and cooked the way he asked. He had peppercorn sauce he loved it and the drys are wonderful. I had the mushroom and goat cheese burger it was very nice as well but I'm sorry I did not get the steak. The team in the restaurant are very engaging with their customers and just great customer experience. Well done team
