I’m not sure if 1 star is too good for this restaurant or not. Food is par, prices are up there, service/staff was ok until the manager pushed someone out of the restaurant and started a yelling match on the street. From what I gather one of the employees parked in a no parking area and blocked someone in for over a half hour. The guy was upset (as I would be) and the manager, instead of apologizing started yelling back at the guy. I didn’t hear much but he even threatened him at one point. I settled my bill and will not be back. Any establishment that treats anyone like that, customers or not, will not be getting my business.

Not 147!! Was there yesterday!! Not following any government guidelines. We went there to support them yet they disrespected our health!! Waiters serving tables with mask off, shaking customers hands. Chef visiting tables with mask pulled off and hugging customers. I called them out on it and they tried to bribe me with a $100 gift certificate. They were letting people in with out masks. Yet the sign on there door says no mask no service.

Went in during Barrielicious. I had a hard time choosing something from the menu because it all sounded great and looked even better as it was being brought to the tables around me. I look forward to seeing and trying their regular menu in the near future.

Food is pretty good, though quite salty. Unfortunately, the service was quite slow and it took well over an hour for us to receive our mains. Our reservation was for 6:15, we got our food at 7:35 and then at 7:50, the server came over and essentially told us to hurry up because they had another reservation for our table at 8:00. It's not the end of the world, but it's a little irritating to wait close to 90 minutes for the food and then have the restaurant staff try to hustle you out within 15 minutes of the food being served.

This must be the best restaurant in all of Barrie. Beginning with the homemade bread everything is fresh and presented beautifully. You cannot go wrong eating anything at this restaurant. Make reservations its getting busy and it deserves the aclaim. Upscale decor with outstanding service and food to match. The dining room is perfect for those seeking a romantic evening and the bar section upfront is a blast for those looking for a great night on the town. Truly the place to be in Barrie.

We went to this restaurant the other night with 2 other couples. Our friends from Ottawa came down and they loved it. We had a wonderful time. The staff and atmosphere are wonderful. We had so many laughs and the food is amazing not to mention the prices are very very good. Huge portions. Highly recommend this place!

Then without asking a group of 15 people, they put everything on one check! And got upset for having to go back and separate the orders! Not sure if I will plan an event ever again there!

We come here on a regular basis and have not been disappointed ever. The staff are warm and welcoming and the food is spectacular - hands down best Italian food in Barrie. Can't go wrong with the charcuterie board starter or the wild boar pasta. Don't miss out on the desserts either!

We visit 147 as frequently as we can! Hands down the best date night location in Barrie. The service is exceptional, the food is dynamite and the restaurant is beautiful. GREAT atmosphere. AMAZING staff. EXCELLENT food. I mean excellent food. Always crave more the next day! SO DELICIOUS. Highly recommend you visit 147 as soon as possible. You are made to feel like family. You will not find another place in Barrie quite like it. 5 stars!!! The breadsticks alone will make you swoon!

The first dish I ever tried was the Frutti Di Mari, and it is honestly the biggest pasta dish I have had in awhile (unfortunately, I didn't get to take a picture of it) and it got me coming back to this restaurant. There is also a wide variety of seafood in it. The waiter recommended to go with a mixture of white and tomato sauce, and I am glad I listened! What I love about this restaurant is that they don't compensate quantity with quality. Waiters and waitresses here are also very welcoming and attentive. See y'all again soon!

Well another AMAZING time at 147!!! A visit with friends last night (9/5/20) and we were not disappointed at all. The food (very healthy portions) was outstanding (as always) and the service was great (to say the least!) Our server was both very helpful and attentive :) We have NEVER had a bad experience here. They have always been friendly and very welcoming ~ And a VERY special 'thank you' to Vince and his team for making the night out with our friends extra special ~ you are always so kind and welcoming, and it never goes unnoticed. The flavours of all their dishes are always of exceptional quality. The calamari was the best I ever had, properly cooked and melted in your mouth, not rubbery. Their staff is well trained on appropriate suggestions and made it easy to decide. I would go again. This is a full hard 5 star restaurant and well worth the price. I'd prefer spend $25 for a meal here than any of the fake Italian restaurant chains out there.

Fell short of our expectations. The drinks were fine. The bread and appetizers were delicious and we thought we were off to a great start but went downhill from there. Waited for over one hour for main course to arrive. After being told it was being plated took another 15 minutes for meals to arrive. They were at best lukewarm. I had the pork meat dish. It was good but oily, pooled oil in middle of dish. My husband had the chicken cacciatore, overall taste was bland and the rice was cold and clumpy. Let the server know about our concerns but no manger came to address the issues. Was served our desserts with no spoons. It took them another 5 minutes to figure that one out. After paying our bill in full we ran into the manger and his best response was I knew there was an issue but was short staff and couldn’t address our concerns. Not even I’m sorry just was happy that we were leaving. That’s not how you do business. We are a 55 plus couple and have been to many restaurants world wide and this restaurant has left us disappointed. I could not recommend this restaurant after that experience.

I love the ambience of this place, one of the nicest interior layouts perfect for a date night or GNO. The drinks were tasty, our server was lovely and attentive and the portions were very big!!! I guess my only complaint would be the pricing, it is rather expensive. But it felt like a treat to eat there!

Terrific drinks and apps. Stopped by with my mom and was able to sit on the patio. They had apps on special - bonus! We shared a caprese salad (very nice presentation) and the meatballs - they are huge!!! Highly recommend checking it out! As we had a birthday reservation for dinner , Service was great when first arrived after appatizers staff started rushing us and told us that we had to hurry that their was people waiting. As everyone that was at the birthday dinner didn't really even have the chance to finish their meal the servers were taking our plates before even having plates finish. Great atmosphere very New York which I enjoyed. Where I take away two stars is it in particular to the margarita pizza which was essentially just a cheese pizza. I did not see what I would have hoped to be a zesty marinara with buffalo mozzarella. But was fine for a "cheese pizza just for me". Next time this will be cross off the list. And the connoli is not a cannoli.

This is one of the best restaurants in Barrie. Phenomenal decor, service, and fresh pasta. Wine menu was lacking this evening, but may just be due to Covid. It's typically stronger. Highly recommended.

I went here today, not expecting to go here orginally dressed to go to a bar. They still say us down and provided excellent service with no reservations, they also served us complementary bread sticks which was very nice. I wasn't sure of the name of the dishes we had but I had the 3 meatballs as an appetizer, fantastic meatballs. They recommended their favorite main which was a penne pasta which vodka rose sauce I believe not quite sure, but it was amazing for the price. If you want a nice night highly recommend coming here.

Atmosphere was comfortable. First time there and enjoyed the food immensely. I had the Sea bream special with the shrimp and my wife had the Salmon, both were delicious. The crispness of the skin on the fish was done perfectly. The vegetables and rice that accompanied were fresh and cooked perfectly. We were there for our anniversary and were given complimentary champagne, which was a nice touch as well. Thank you for making it a memorable evening for my wife and I. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Tonight I had the pleasure of dining at 147. The decor is classy, exquisite and the cuisine reflected the ambience! From their Barrielicious menu I selected the veal as my main and it melted in my mouth - delicious. The service was outstanding and there was an energy in the room as electric and illuminating as the elegant light fixtures. 147 brings a metropolitan feel to Barrie's downtown core and a level of dining that is a welcomed change!

Not worth the visit. Plenty of other better restaurants on Dunlop with better food and caring staff. Save yourself some money and just head to east sides. This place is full of people that want to be able to say they ate down town at a restaurant that’s only open for five hours, it maybe makes them feel special? This place isn’t as special as the prices lead you to believe.

Please take this as a critic and not bashing because i would like this place to succeed. Server didnt know what she was doing. Didnt know that a certain dish had oil and garlic...its an "italian" restaurant! The antipasto dish had cheddar cheese! This is an insult to the italian culture! And the cheese was cubed as if purchased from zerhs pre cubed. Just shows lack of interest to me. The "Polo" dish was fine. But not anything i could have made at home. Very bland. Spice it up a bit. Show some love with your work. Italian food is supposed to be made with love and passion. This place totally lacks both.

We had fun at this restaurant. We sat outside on the sidewalk patio. Due to covid procedures, not much tables inside. The food was delicious ???? and the staff were fantastic. The presentation of the dishes were beautifully done, the aroma mmmm so gwud, so much texture, and layers of flavor. Yummy goodness???? Thanks Maria our waitress. And thanks Joe from upstairs for buying us dessert ???? The washrooms are clean and bright. The restaurant have a dim light atmosphere with nice ambiance. Located near the lake.

UPDATE: When we made the reservation we CLEARLY stated that it was a surprise. Their response is to blame the customer rather than solve the problem. Attempted to plan a surprise birthday party at this establishment. Apparently they are unfamiliar with the “surprise” aspect of a reservation. They didn’t make note that the reservation was for a surprise birthday and spoiled the surprise when they called to confirm the reservation. When we spoke the manager they basically told us tough luck. TERRIBLE customer service!! Would’ve planned to go somewhere else but a deposits had already been made. Haven’t even dined here yet but already know that I will not be returning.

Very disappointing. I understand that it was a busy Saturday night, but when our server did not seem to care that he made a mistake and charged us for something we didn’t get, I expect he would be more apologetic and not charged us. It felt like he was too busy and brushed it off like it was not his fault for writing down the wrong order AND confirming we were wrong... when in the end we were actually right (i.e. an italian soda is not the italian breeze cocktail... which my husband is allergic to alcohol ...). Oh, and our food was cold on the surface and warm at the bottom (i.e. probably left sitting on the counter). Not worth the $$ or the travel time to Barrie. We left the restaurant disappointed, dissatisfied, and wishing we never went to 147. Sorry, I’m usually pretty understanding, but it’s sad to know that I could get better italian food and better service for 1/3 of the price at Fusaro in Toronto.

We got a couple apps (shrimp and brushetta) They were delicious. We got our main. (Penne al a vodka and the chicken parm) My date said its one of the best pastas she's had and I can fully 2nd that statement about my chicken Parm being the best I've had. The portions were very good, you definitely get your moneys worth. We will most definitely be back!

Finally a restaurant that gets it. A society full of big box stores and chains, 147 brings back what a restaurant should be. Classy romantic decor sets you up to be greeted by excellent staff. Service is fantastic, amazing warm fresh bread and drink within minutes. Ample time to review a great menu as waiter goes over specials for the day. Best steak I have had in Barrie! Portions, quality of food, taste and presentation is top notch. Excellent wine list, waiter topping up my glass as he ensured we were enjoying our meal. Barrie residents don't need to head to the city for fine dining, 147dunlop brings it to you. I can't speak highly enough after my first experience, I can't wait to go back!

I don’t have a chance to go out much when I am in Barrie . 147 is the only restaurant I go while in Barrie . Love their prosciutto pizza without prosciutto ( vegetarian option)... my favourite.... this pizza is just so good .... The perfect crust topped with fresh arugula and drizzle of balsamic vinegar One of my absolute favourite guilty pleasures ???? The staff of the restaurant treats all the customers like family which gives the restaurant such a lovely vibe ????

The man looked at me and said no ..he said...you do know its barrielicious and it's busy. Really ....we walked out No thanks

First experience for my birthday was wonderful, we were treated very well, the food was excellent, and the gentleman who served our table was one of the best we've ever dealt with. The whole experience was magnificent. We went back at a later date, and the experience was the opposite of the first time. The food was not quite as good, service was rushed, and our waitress was horrendous. I've never dealt with service that poor, and at the when I was paying she picked up my credit card and stared at it for about 15 seconds looking at my name and the numbers before I took it back. We couldn't believe someone had the nerve to do that, and we were both very confused. That was abysmal and it took a lot of self control not to say something negative to her. Overall based off our last experience we would not return or recommend to anyone we know.

BEST lasagna I've ever had. I've been faked out for 52 years and finally had what I assume is a true lasagna as this one was either 7 or 8 layers and it was so light I could drop my knife and it would cut it through. So good. I know one of the senior staff has relations to another very reputable business in town.

Fantastic experience from start to finish. The welcoming staff, the ambiance, decor and music and of course the food was top notch. We had the shrimp appetizer and the tomato salad with a delishes flor di latte(?) cheese. $5 Proseccos to wash them down (thursday night special) Then we had the spicy salami pizza and seafood pasta. I've never seen pasta dish so big. It was the best dish I've had in any restaurant in Barrie period. Finished the dinner off with home made cannolies. Wine list was also great. I highly recommend this restaurant. Also keep an eye out for their expansion next door with a lounge type of place opening soon

Dropped in for supper without reservations and ended with a side table by the kitchen door. Lesson learnt. The server was excellent. The menu and wine list were very good. Ended up ordering the nightly special which was delicious and plentiful. Brought back memories of dining in Italy. It’s a must visit for anyone who wants authentic Italian food but make reservations.

Much better than the other places the parmesan bread is fabulous. Had the calimari which was cut too think but cooked properly. Seafood linguine which was lovely and had clams and snow crab doubt it was king crab too expensive. Tiramisu was really good. Service was top notch bit of a wait when I came in because noone was watching the door. Hostess was cruising the room checking on the flow of service.

Absolutely amazing! The quality of the food is impeccable, the atmosphere is great as well as the service, and wonderful owners. I have never been disappointed. From the calamari, pasta ( seafood one is bomb!), fresh cheese, salmon(to die for) , steak,veal chop(AMAZING!). Definitely a MUST TRY!

A cozy and appealing restaurant in the heart of Barrie. 147 Ristorante offers excellent food, generous portions, and at mid range prices. The Fruti di Mar was my favourite main dish. It is not only flavourful, but I can say for the first time ever, I was unable to finish the portion. I discovered it tastes just as good if not better as a leftover. The Capri salad was also a hit with me. Once again, generous portions of cheese made this a winner. The grilled calamari was done to perfection. The daily specials are also worth a try. Fish and meat dishes especially. I have been there several times and each time i forget to take photos as I'm so looking forward to the meal. I'll try to update this review with photos the next time I'm there.They have a good wine selection which will suite all tastes and budgets. The restaurant s always buys so make reservations well ahead of your planned visit. Parking in the downtown area is not as bad as one would think especially if you like to have your dinner early as i do.

This restaurant is exactly what it claims to be, fine dining Italian cuisine with a sophisticated atmosphere. I came here for dinner during barrielicious on a Friday night without a reservation. Even though they were packed, they quickly put some tables together for us to sit. The service was impressive to say the least. The owner came over to our table to see how our night was going and I felt he really cared about our experience at 147 and his passion for the restaurant was clear. If you're lucky enough to eat here during barrielicious I would recommend the veal tenderloin. It's melt in your mouth, tender like butter, cut it with a fork soft. I have a feeling they'll do very well here in Barrie.

This is our third attempt to give this restaurant a try we were turned away twice as they were “not open” the grand opening week was barrilicious however they were closed (2nd day) after opening....on our third attempt we ordered wine and had a dirty glass then it was replaced with a glass with a dollar store sticker on the bottom ... ordered penne alla vodka and arugula salad which was clearly not fresh ...the waitress noticed and offered to remove the salad from the bill...I would have overlooked all of this if that was actually the case . My husband paid the bill and we left. When I got home I noticed that we were charged for the salad needless to say we will not give it a fourth try nor will we recommend it to our friends and family.

The owners, part of the Fuda family, have been running the Italian Bakery on Wellington Street for a number of years and have food service in their blood. Yum!

RE: Father’s Day lunch On Father’s Day morning, while scrolling through social media, I came across an advertisement stating your restaurant was open. I told my wife and she called and made a reservation for a late “Father’s Day lunch”. There were four of us. I wanted you to be aware of a few concerns that we had. Firstly, while we ate, several members of the public were just walking through your restaurant patio area. This meant absolutely no social distancing was being enforced. I feel you should barricade the patio area so only the guests dining can have access. Our server brought us lovely warm bread to enjoy, along with four side plates. My wife distributed the side plates, and two on the bottom of the pile had oil and vinegar on them. Clearly we were given dirty dishes previously used by other customers. This really set the tone for our lunch. We felt that you were not taking appropriate sanitizing precautions. To serve us food on dirty dishes is unacceptable. My wife ordered the caprese salad, and there was a hair in the salad as well. Our bill, with gratuity was over $170 and we really didn’t enjoy the food or the atmosphere and the dirty dishes added a dark cloud to our lunch. We have not dined out since March, and picked your restaurant to spend our first meal out at, with restrictions lifted. We were very disappointed to say the least. Might I recommend you review cleanliness procedures with your staff, and place signage at each end of your patio area directing the public to walk “around” your dining area.

Saturday night. Girls night out. Despite the busy time, we managed to get a table. Server came very quickly. Had good suggestions for a drink, explained the menu. We didn't want some heavy meals, so they 've accommodated our request to add chicken breast to a salad of choice (not offered on the menu). Food was great. We had a very pleasant evening. The place is not too loud, so you actually could have a conversation. I think we were leaving last.

This place is my 'Go To' for Chicken Alfredo. Hands down the best tasting Alfredo sauce I've ever had. It's a little bit on the expensive side, especially with adding the extra chicken for $7, but totally worth every bite of it. I order here quite often and have always had a pleasant experience with such friendly staff :) Highly recommend!

First time here, the rib eye was cooked perfectly, the smashed potatoes were on point. My dinner companion had the lamb, it was fall off the bone. Service was great and ambiance was just right. Price point was in the market. Very nice overall experience

been here several times always excellent food, staff always do their best but its the service industry so hiccups are understandable we have had a couple..as I read other reviews. you one star people relax and cut your servers some slack in this (usually) ungrateful line of work. I don't particularly like the small tables by the kitchen, too busy and too much light but so what. overall this is a good place to enjoy an evening. thanks 147 Staff. you are good people with always good intentions.

Our favourite place to dine in Barrie. I refuse to go anywhere else. The bar back Cole is always so helpful and accommodating. He checks on us frequently to ensure we have received everything we need. Kaydo is also another friendly face. He is always so positive and provides excellent service. From the appetizer to the main course is just a party in your mouth of flavors. I would go back just for there special hand made garlic bread . Btw its not just garlic bread , im not sure what kind of secret magic bread this is but it comes warm to the table and its the most delicious garlic warm bread i have ever had ! This alone is a MUST TRY !!

I read the earlier reviews and thought this would be a great place to take the in-laws for supper. I made a huge mistake, I guess this place has gone down hill since the good reviews. It was a horrible experience. We should have just gone to McDonalds, at least we would have got good food with fast friendly service but instead we ate here. Never, ever again.

I went here on a Friday with a reservation for 8:30pm. After getting hungry earlier, I requested to move it to 6:30pm instead. They were very accommodating for my request and gave me a great seat near the front of the restaurant. Its a great spot for a romantic date night. The servers were very friendly, the food was delicious - if possible, too delicious. VERY instagram-worthy as well. Had a reservation July 17th, multiple messages and calls made and my Mom was able to confirm the reservation for 8 for indoors. We arrived to find out there was no reservation recorded and the manager noted she remembered the call/reservation but for some reason unable to locate it. We did recognize that it was the first night for indoor dining but we called to confirm due to having my 90 year old grandmother with us. It took awhile but they were finally able to accommodate us on their front patio. Servers passed us a few times, other tables/customers arriving after us, served drinks and eating while we were still waiting. Foti, one of the employees quickly took note and when bringing water to our table asked us if we would like a drink. He then proceeded to be our server for the evening, although I don't think that was his job that night. I am giving Foti 5 stars. He took and remembered all of our orders and made not one error. If he had not been our server and turned our night around I would be giving a much lower rating. Thank you Foti :)

At a friend's suggestion we celebrated my wife's birthday here. Nice place, long and narrow, in an established part of town. Friendly staff and good food. My wife's lasagna, however, was served cool. So after I insisted we send it back (at these prices!) they took a full 20 minutes to heat it up. Of course by then some of us had finished their meals and I, waiting for my wife's plate, ate mine cold too. The servers were literally running off their feet. Too bad. We may go back, may not. Not much competition for a good restaurant here in Barrie!

We hosted a private event recently at 147, we had never been there before so really didn't know what to expect....any expectation we could have had was blown away. I cannot speak more highly of this restaurant, an absolute gem! They hit the mark at every point. Food was impeccable (all my guests were beyond impressed), staff were beyond incredible they define the word hospitality, Chris and Shauna in particular were a dream to work with! Big shout out to Rick Chef/Owner who truly went above and beyond together with his staff to ensure our event went perfectly. I highly recommend this restaraunt for anything and everything! An absolute must go!!!!!!
