Great staff very helpful. Large room to the side where they have monitors showing videos of the gold mining history of the area. This large room is available for eating your packed lunches with plenty of round tables. Bathrooms are clean and accessible. If you like history about the gold rush and the early settlers in northern BC then Barkerville is for you. You will need two days to experience everything and your ticket is valid for two days.

Lots of history and activities / interpretive acting with admission with additional paid activities (Theatre, carriage rides, etc)

Hadn't been sice i was 9. The place changed a bit but it was still cool. Bring money there is lots to buy. They do except debit/visa/mc. When you get there you should grab a list of all of the events thst are goingon through out the day. It will help you plan. 2 restuarants there and shops with bakery. Horse and buggy rides too!

Barkerville has always been a good place to go. They have kept the buildings well-maintained and the displays are great. We watch the waterwheel show and thoroughly enjoyed it! The pair who did the show are absolutely delightful. We enjoyed a stagecoach ride, which was a fun experience to see how they used to do it! We also went to the theatre Royal and watch the variety show. It was also very good and we enjoyed it as well. Two of our group had to try the gold panning and it's a lot harder than it looks! although we only got a few flakes each it was a fun experience. It is definitely worth a visit to see the past in action with all the reenactors walking the streets tending the shops and working the forge!
