This Restaurant corresponds to the category of Italian restaurant.
I loved the old style transitional decor and menu options , the service was clean and professional , the food exactly like you would want and then some more , flavour , and spice and all that is nice ????
Friendly people, nice place, awesome food.
Have stopped by this restaurant on several occasions in the past and this past weekend, I got the surprise of my life. They are getting VERY EXPENSIVE!!! A for instance, my daughter who has celiac disease and cannot have any gluten in her diet had to order from their celiac friendly menu. She ordered a simple pasta lunch and asked for chicken and by the time I got the bill (no prices on menu), her lunch cost almost $25! What?? I truly feel I got ripped off as the meal wasn't that great and we received a minimum of bread (one small loaf for 3 of us), no coffee or tea. I would recommend avoiding the Old Spaghetti factory as they've lost their way. Food quality was less then ok and as mentioned any specialty items in the menu are very expensive.

Huge beautiful place. Nice staff. Delicious food. Affordable.
Cannot believe how incredibly accommodating this place was towards our dietary restrictions. We really wanted the deep fried mozzarella triangles and the fried shrimp but they fry it in the same oil as other meat products which we do not consume so the shallow fry them separately just for us! We really wanted the deep fried mozzarella triangles and the fried shrimp but they fry them in the same oil as other meat products which we do not consume so they shallow fried them separately just for us! Amazing service and extremely kid friendly, thank you guys so much for make it memorable for my crazy, exhausted kids!
So disappointing!! My bf and I did a spontaneous trip to Banff and were excited to find The Old Spaghetti Factory there. But what a total disaster!! Hardly any cheese on the lasagna, and a very small portion like 2 layers. My vegetarian spaghetti the server suggested was dry hardly any sauce and my vegetables were almost raw. The bread and salad was good but the coffee afterwards was cold. The server Katie was very tentive until after we got out meal, we hardly saw her after that, and we stood by our table with our jackets on waiting and waiting and waiting for her to come with the bill. So we will never be back.
Was here on a Thursday afternoon (around 3 pm) and the place was on the quieter side, which was perfectly fine. The greeter was friendly and showed us to our seat and was in general pleasant. We ordered the French onion soup, the carbonara, and the pesto linguine with chicken. Although the French onio soup was good it wasn't the quality I was expecting based on previous visits at other locations in Edmonton and Calgary. The pastas were undercooked and the pesto sauce was not blended properly. Both pastas also tasted pretty bland. Ordered a bottle of wine and interestingly our server never actually served it to us, like you normally expect (presenting it, approval, and finally serving it). He just opened the bottle and left it on the table. Our server was friendly. Overall, compared to the past experiences I have had at other locations, this was not the greatest.
Absolutely amazing. We enjoy our local one but this location was superb. I came with 3 young kids, hyper and hungry. Our waiter was on his first day and was completely perfect. Getting kids stuff for coloring, friendly, making sure my kids had lids on their drinks, high chair, table away from bigger groups. The food was awesome as always and large proportion. Everything from the fresh bread to finishing up with free ice creme. Everyone did well. It was hard to get up there with a stroller but certainly worth it. Well done!
Although we were told the wait would be 30 minutes, we were basically called in 5-10 so the wait wasn't that long. The waiter started us off with some bread which was pretty good. I got the spaghetti and meatballs and I was disappointed. The sauce was bland and the meatballs weren't even hot so I could tell they weren't that fresh. Not sure if it was because my meal had been sitting out long before the waiter brought it or if it was cold to begin with. We got ice cream at the end of the meal which was a nice touch but it wasn't anything to die for. Overall, I was quite disappointed having to pay $20+ after tax and tip for spaghetti that my mom can make at home.
Service
First, the positive: great service from Stephanie. Also, main dishes were good as expected. We both asked for extra sauce on the side for our pasta dishes. Do it! It's worth it. (Chicken penne was dry....not enough sauce) Now for the negative: the Sourdough hot bread was actually not fresh and cold. The mixed salad had the carrots shaving and purple cabbage on the bottom of a big pile of lettuce with a big glob of dressing in one corner. Not even close to a basic food presentation. Let's say that it was not the same experience that we normally get. We will still return. Best bang for the buck$.
Great food and service. A very popular place for nice Italian food. A very cosy and conservative setting. Service was efficient, although tonight food took awhile to be served. Serving staff was attentive and always on hand. We really enjoyed our meal tonight.

What’s not to like?! Reasonable price for Starter, Main Course and Desert!! Spinach Salad with Goat cheese and Cranberries, Roasted Garlic Chicken were tasty. I’d recommend this place!
One year after coming here on our honeymoon, we loved it so much that we came right back for our anniversary and shared their Roasted Garlic Chicken Pasta and they gave us both the "It's all included" trimmings that normally accompany each entree! They even put us in the booth balcony seating area! What lovely time again! Twice in a row they've "wowed" us with their quality service and amazing food with all the works!
We decided to eat here while on vacation and being a celiac I was more than sceptical of the “spaghetti factory” as a choice but the staff were extremely friendly. They have a decent gluten free menu for what type or restaurant they are. I ordered a pesto/chicken dish on gluten free noodles. I was surprised at the consistency of the noodles for being GF, you couldn’t really tell. I had no post meal issues, would recommend.
Dinner
Really great service from Dalton. Tortellini was tasty and a good size for lunch. Don't underestimate the lava cakes. Also the "all included" ice cream & coffee at the end was nice.
Service was good, food was good, and prices were good. The main reason for my review is to say that this restaurant does have vegan options! There are only two meal options, the marinara sauce or the marinara sauce with impossible meatballs, so not too much of a selection, but I was happy to have an option that wasn't a burger. For $19.95, I got bread (with garlic butter, which obviously isn't vegan, but my boyfriend said it was good), the choice of minestrone (which is also vegan and was very good!) or salad, the main meal (I chose marinara with impossible meatballs), and ice cream and coffee (which again, isn't vegan, so I didn't try it).
Great food, they brought our main out straight after the starter which was a bit too early. Needed some time for the starter to settle! Would recommend though!
Service
Just finished eating here after reading such great reviews. I’m sorry to say but the food was a total let down. It was bland and gross. If you like salt for the only spice in your food then this is your place to eat!! I ordered the seafood pasta and there was maybe a tablespoon of sauce on it, and extremely bland and salty. My husband ordered the lasagna and the meat texture was like a fine paste. The service is terrible, our server didn’t even offer us a salad or soup to start and she had to be tracked down for a coffee and drink etc. I would save your money and eat somewhere better like McDonalds
Food was better then expected, service was poor. Charged for refills of pop even if clearly "free" on the menu, never offered other aspects of "all included" meal such as ice cream for child or coffee / tea for adults. Wish i found out before paying.. on that note asked for to go containers... server never came back.
This is a super family friendly restaurant. And the meal deal makes it worth eating here: every menu item comes with bread, soup/salad, coffee/tea, and ice cream. I rated low because the service was not great on this visit. Our waters were not refilled. The waiter did not take our bread and salad plates until after we finished the main course. And he brought the bill before I got my ice cream! So then my ice cream was sitting uneaten while I located my wallet and paid. I would have preferred the waiter to say, "in just dropping off your bill but take your time eating. I'll bring the machine when you're ready."
There’s a long wait to get a table-45mins to and hour easy! So visit them and reserve a table in advance. This place offers a great deal- you get a choice between soup/salad + main course + ice cream for the price of the main course you choose. They also serve bread with butter to begin with. The place is really economical and the portions are also nice. I had issues with the LIIT’s which tasted like lemonade (i.e. no alcohol in them) so we had to send them back. Our server made sure we were served the right drinks and had the bar tender correct them for us. Coming to the food, the bang bang shrimp Is AWESOME, you must order those. I had the carbonara and my partner had the chicken parmigiana. They tasted decent. Their french onion soup wasn’t fresh- I could just taste powder in it. The icecream was a pistachio chocolate ice cream and was really nice. I just didn’t like the fact that we had to wait for so long + the french onion soup was bad.
If you're visiting Banff and looking to dine on a budget, I'd highly this place. My friends and I grabbed the ravioli lunch specials. It came with bread, a choice of salad or soup, a beverage, and ice cream -- all for $13.95 pre-tax. The ravioli and spumoni ice cream were absolutely delightful. As others have mentioned, the restaurant has a very cozy vibe to it and offers excellent service!
I had no idea Banff had The Old Spaghetti Factory. Excellent food, great service, and a nice location. The windows on the second floor are on a track and can be opened to create a nice outdoor patio vibe. Can’t beat the value, either!
Excellent value for money! Our server Daniel was super friendly, charming and funny! Food was good for the price. Great location too!! It gets busy so get your name down early. Had a drink at the bar while waiting and again a lovely young chap from London served us. Staff are wonderful and overall a very good experience. Would definitely return.
Service
After reading many good reviews, I decided to try the spaghetti here. It turned out excellent experience. The spaghetti, especially creamy one are tasty. Please try the long island iced tea. At first, if drink only it, you will feel the strong alcohol but after eating, it supports great dish for you. And i'm addicted. The service is excellent! Highly recommend!
If you come to Banff, I 100% recommend the Old Spaghetti Factory restaurant. It's cosy and has a vintage feel to it. The choices are fantastic! And the best part, it won't bore a hole in your pocket. You will have to reserve your place though as there's usually a 45mins - 1hr wait for walk-ins but trust me when I say it worth it. Our waiter was Dalton and he went over and beyond to make sure everything was to our satisfaction.
Used to be able to eat in, but you can't even make a reservation anymore. So instead of waiting at least 45 minutes for a table, I was told, I chose to take out and pick up our food in 20 minutes. Returned in 20...they didn't even start our order. Was asked to return in 25-30 minutes. Fine. I prepaid. We finally get to eat our meal in the hotel. They put shrimp in my daughter's meal instead of chicken that was ordered. Thanks for the hivy food. Wanted to go throw it at their window. If you're going to go, I suggest eating in. At least you can send mistakes back to the kitchen.

Great prices, good taste and perfect for a pickup in your room! Didn’t eat in, seemed fine but nothing exceptional. However, customer service was perfect!
Nice big place for a meal in Banff. It has all the usual stuff like spaghetti and pasta and a good collection of drinks and kids menu. Even on a long weekend they were able to accommodate us a party of 12 with 45 minutes wait while others were not even trying. Service was efficient and good. I will definitely visit again.
Service
The restaurant has amazing food with generous portions. On our vacation to Banff one of the best places we ate. Would recommend to anyone to come.

Service was great and attentive. The minestrone was delicious as usual. But, to my disappointment, the carbonara sauce was bland. I had to add garlic butter, that was meant for the bread, to make it more flavorful. I didn't send the plate back because I didn't want to wait and everyone else was finishing their meal. Don't plan on returning and not worth the 40 minute wait.
Had an amazing experience at the Old Spaghetti Factory. We ordered bam bam shrimp and blue moon the start, lasagna and ended with coffee and key lime pie. Food, service and ambience 5 stars ????????
Truly you don’t pay for the food but you pay for the experience… Amazing Host, Amazing Service, Amazing Ambiance. We been visiting OSF since we called Bow Valley our forever home. In all these years they have maintained the quality of food, their unique flavours and generous portions. Love everything on their menu. All the staff and servers were friendly and attentive. The place followed all the safety protocols during the pandemic. Highly recommend if you happen to visit Banff. Also special thanks to our star service Drey (I guess that’s what we heard through the mask) Thank you once again…
By far the best resturant in Banff! The staff are very engaging and the environment is very old style. The food tastes amazing, and the all inclusive thing is a massive hit. Plus, the prices are also very good value. Get the steak!
Dillian our waiter was great with the service. Gave us lots of time to eat before coming back, and cared about our experience. Food was delicious and I would highly recommend if you want to impress a date. (Ask for a window seat)

Food was good, staff was polite, but I did feel a bit rushed like they wanted to hustle us out the door even though the restaurant was basically empty and there was no line of prospective patrons. Will be back for sure.
A very great restaurant. The staff were very nice and friendly. They checked on us very frequently. The bread and cheese which they started with was great.
The first day to Banff, Raiders to this restaurant. There may not be many people in the off-season. The food is very fast, and the dishes are not bad, the taste is not bad! The most important price is very beautiful
Loved this land landmark. Service was excellent. Food as good as always.
The service was really nice, the food cheap and pretty good for the price I misordered my food and they still gave me the right dish, 5minutes after i returned the other one. without charging me it.

Loved my experience here. Never been to The Old Spaghetti Factory even though we have one in Toronto. I loved the great selection of the spaghetti section and pasta. You definitely get your moneys worth if you get the "all in one" which comes with choice of salad/soup, ice cream, tea/coffee. Customer service was great! We highly recommend the Blood Orange Bellini, if you're a seafood lover like myself the Seafood linguine Marinara and for meat lovers the Meatball Spaghetti was delicious. To start the steamed garlic mussels were good too.
Ordered from here tonight and while my pasta (the seafood alfredo) was quite tastey, and a normal adult size... My husbands lasagne that he ordered came in the same size tiny container as the childs menu speghetti??? The almost $20 lasagne from the main menu was the same size as the $6 kids menu speghetti. TINY portion for that much money. The bread was pretty chewy, and the salad dressing looked and tasted like it was mixed with water... Over all super disappointing.
The bread and soups we ordered were delicious and tasty. The servers were also friendly. However the main course was not what we expected. It was mediocre and over priced.
Though running late to reach back home we decided to give this place a try for lunch and it turned out to be a good decision. The staff is very polite and we were served by Mr. Harry. He made us feel very comfortable and we really enjoyed our visit. The bread and garlic butter served in the beginning was amazing and we really enjoyed it. We also ordered Garlic Cheese Toast on Happy Hour menu and it was amazing. The Spaghetti and Roasted Chicken were great and really flavourful. Definitely going back next time we visit Banff.
Service
The service and food was really good. I really appreciate that they give water right off the bat. Gotta stay hydrated ya know. The only complaint that I have was the serrated bread knife for cutting the bread was dull like a butter knife. Made cutting the bread really hard and made a big mess. The bread was good though :).
We went to the Old Spaghetti Factory for my birthday and it was very nice. We made a reservation online got amazing seat in the booth with a view of the mountain. Staff very nice. Food was great! Alfredo Chicken Ravioli was awesome.
Very affordable family spot in a tourist destination that can get very pricey for food options. All spaghetti meals are 3 courses. Kids meal are a good size and equivalent to a 1/2 order from adults menu.
Cosy place to dig in a nice plate of pasta. Handmade sauce is great. The portion is a little bit too much for a female.
So fun and tasty!! We stopped by for a late lunch with my family and friends. Staff at the front, as well as our waiters, were friendly. The service was slow, but it's good to see the place was busy after restrictions were slightly lifted, so we didn't mind. I'd definitely come back.
Ate here for lunch. A bit disappointed that the menu was missing certain items found at other locations (ex. Hunters chicken). The sourdough bread was tough and had a weird texture. I’m giving a 3/5 because the waitress did a good job and the lasagna came out hot.
Service
The Old Spaghetti Factory has been serving similar food since at least the 80s. The quality has always been good and the meals consistent. The minestrone soup has always been a favourite of mine. The fact that the product hasn't changed much over the past 30+ years is a testament that their model works. I admit that I miss the days when the spumoni ice cream had bits of fruit in it. The Factory will remain in my regular rotation of restaurants.

Food was amazing, but our server Drayton was very rude and condescending. Refused to wear his mask properly and would constantly pull it all the way off to talk to us. Worth the visit but make sure to avoid Drayton.
Meal type
The staff and food were really good. The waiter was very gentle and friendly. The prices are equivalent to competitors, like Earls. They could serve craft beer and show better pasta options.
Just had a lunch at this restaurant with my wife and two kids. Meals there were very tasty. We enjoyed home-made pasta and Minestrone soup, especially at this cold weather like today. Unfortunately, entire pleasant experience was ruined by the waiter Dalton (I guess this is correct name) when we already paid the bill. This gentleman brought the POS terminal for making a payment and we were chatting about the weather in Banff. I asked my wife to pay the bill with her card. As a tourist, she may not know all the local rules about tipping. So, I remember that moment, when Dalton abruptly stopped our conversation when notices that my wife put 10% for tips. After that, he got the receipt and carelessly threw it to the table. In all his actions, he showed contempt for us as guests and it was so rude! After that, I explained my wife that tips here must be bit higher. So, we left extra tips to let him know that we did satisfy with his job. Anyway, it was not professional from his side to demonstrate his reaction on tips amount.
Went here for dinner one night. Restaurant has nice ambience. We were seated in the booth which was private and we're instantly pleased. The food is quite bland unfortunately. The pasta sauce isn't tasty - not zingy and a little on the watery side. Don't think there was any garlic taste either. The lasagna was ok but again not really tasty. It had a thick layer of melted cheese that tasted rubbery. Parmesan cheese also had no bite despite it being freshly grated from the block in front of me. Reminds me of the kind of food you'd eat when you can't be stuffed cooking for the family and do a cheap take out to get some food in the belly. The fact that meals come with condiments to complete the meal like entree and dessert is a good idea. Good value for money.
This restaurant is constantly great. Staff are friendly and attentive. Food is always great and excellent value. It's our go to restaurant in Banff. Sure - it's family friendly but sometimes that's even entertaining. They are supporting all COVID protocols so we felt safe. Lots of open seating arrangements.
First time and it was not a disappointment. Absolutely amazing food, quick and efficient service and super friendly. Will most certainly recommend to others.
Affordable tasty fun for the family. The Old Spaghetti Factory in Banff pledged to make affordable quality meals for all and they lived up to that pledge. Meal portions are generous and their 3 course option of a soup/salad, main and dessert with tea/coffee will fill most up to satisfaction. Funnily enough the chairs have a rustic charm and a fresh coat of sealant as of this writing. So they're decievingly comfortable and smooth to sit on. The ambiance is best described as a diner in Italy. Close your eyes and the sounds that come are from families bustling in, regulars enjoying their favorite lasagna and new romances getting acquainted. Italians spices waft through the air and the decor with high ceilings leaves a spacious feel throughout. To note the washroom is located outside the restaurant and is shared with the mall! If you're looking for an affordable meal that is tasty I'd say make a stop by The Old Spaghetti Factory in Banff and stock up on those carbs!
Service
Our server was great and so welcoming. I had the mushroom ravioli pasta, it was yummy!
Family&Kids friendly Restaurant. Every time when we visit a Banff we have a lunch/dinner at Old Spaghetti Factory. We gave a try to different ones, but this one is the BEST in Banff! Always great, welcoming atmosphere and guest-oriented service. Today, a big thanks to James for amazing service, friendly & smile. Reasonable price. Kids-friendly menu. I like an authentic Italian decor. I always order a their own Italian pasta. My husband likes a tasty ribs and full plates. As a addition, I like their Free extras - Super tasty fresh bread and butter, Salad or Soup, Coffee, Tea, Ice cream. Yes, I recommend this restaurant.
Visited the restaurant in early november (during off season) so it wasn't busy, my Gf and I had been seated and had waited 20 minutes before leaving. We didn't have a "hello" , "would you like a drink", or even eye contact from our server assigned to our table. We went to the pub next door and were quite delighted and felt welcomed. Just be wary if you plan to go.
We were a party of 6 at the restaurant on Aug 8. The service was horrible not sure if the waitress was new or just had too much to handle. We ordered a bunch of appetizers that sat on the serving tray table for about 5 mins for the server to handle out glasses of water and pop to the other tables. They were cold time they got to the table. The bread that came to the table wasn’t warm at all. The soup and salads were decent except for the one person that didn’t get one. Everyone’s glasses at the table were empty when the main courses got brought out, you would think the server would ask if everyone wanted a refill. No everyone around the table had to ask basically. The main courses came and they were mediocre. I love this place so much in Edmonton but here in Banff was a horrible experience. Not sure if this was a off day but won’t be back to this restaurant.
Very affordable price with big portions. Good for families with kids.
My wife and I very much enjoyed our meal here. The views and street noise below while the window was open was great!! Nothing better than enjoying a beer and a meal of the beautiful fresh air of Banff. They have a beer brewed just for them that I enjoyed and the value for your dollar is likely the best in Banff (meal, soup or salad, coffee AND ice cream all for the menu price). Loved the atmosphere and that'll definitely bring us back!!
Excellent service. Had Spinach Salad and Pesto Linguine. Both were good. Minestrone soup is a must try.
Great food and prices! The waiter, I believe her name was Melissa, was so friendly and fast. Best service we ever had! ???? Both spaghetti and ravioli were so tasty, also the soupes. Would recommend to anyone.
It was amazing spaghetti. I ordered spicy one but add more spicy and more meat balls. It was perfect!! The spicy lovers do try it.
The food was very good! I got a clam chowder, Caesar salad, and the chicken Alfredo ravioli. Absolutely delicious, especially the clam chowder. I thought the ravioli was too cheesy and got a little sick of it, but overall good. The water tasted like tap water. All the things were clean and the waiter was nice. I gave four stars because we got an inexperienced waiter and many times we had to wait for him to come for a long time.

No real complaints, food was good, size and price all good. Waitress was fantastic when she was there. It was not busy when we were there. I have no idea what she was doing. With a table of 6 we would have hoped to have a drink refill a lot sooner and water more often. The bread that comes with the meal is so yummy. Ask for Millie, she serves us the time before this time and was so on the ball. It's weird when you get great service then, service where you have to keep asking for water or a drink refill. We loved Millie the other time. Friendly happy service is 70% of the experience.
The restaurant offers great choices for food, drink and dessert. Their complete meals will fill you up for reasonable price. The wait time to get the food is not so bad. It locates at the second floor of the mall with plenty of tables available. The mall offer paid on-site parking. But you can find free parking space close-by and walk a bit.
Thank you so much for making a memorable experience for us. I was nervous since my kids have food allergy and eating in a restaurant was their first experience. Staff and the manager(I guess he was the manager) explained in details every single items to find out which one would be safe for us! Amazing staffs, great manager! Thank you, I hope to see you again! Highly recommended.
Such a wonderful experience! Great atmosphere and good food. It is nice that the huge windows are open during great weather allowing the cool mountain air to cross the dining room. Adds a unique experience that is enjoyable! Staff is friendly and meals are great! You can feed the family without breaking the bank, as it's all inclusive for a low price.
The free salad was just lettuce with some sauce. The free bread was a hot dog bun. The waiter was great but you really get what you pay for here in terms of food quality. You could have a good and comparably priced meal elsewhere.
The Old Spaghetti Factory was great..food was tasty and great portion sizes for kids and adults. We only had to wait about 25 minutes so we just went for a short walk..as soon as we came back we were seated..front house staff were friendly too. Our server was Harry, he was excellent...overall we had a brilliant family meal out Thank you ????
We have been here multiple times and each time unhappy with the services too slow and always confused. Other than that food was good.
Good service and good food! Do check them out! I ended up only getting starters which were great! The wings were on spot! Asked the server for ranch sauce and she brought it right away!
My wife and I were visiting Banff this past weekend and decided to give this location a shot. I have to say we were pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. The location was quite good with my wife having a view of the mountains from her seat. The food tasted great and the service was excellent. The value was really what blew us away. We each got a meal which comes with soup or salad, bread with butter, the meal itself, ice cream and we each ordered a drink for under $60 before tip. We will definitely be back!
