Once again I was hesitant to try La Terrazza because it was part of a hotel and but once again was glad that my wife encouraged me to overcome old habits from 25 years ago. We ate at La Terrazza our last night in Banff and it was a good choice. Pleasant surroundings, excellent service, nice house wine both white and red and good food. I had the minestrone soup and calimaria and my wife had the Caprese salad and seafood Roselline. All were very good. The minestrone was as good as I've ever had. I especially liked the way that a table did not have to be dependent on its own assigned server. Everyone helped all tables when the need was there. I'm not sure why more restaurants don't adopt this practice. It's a sure sign of good management.

Mediocre at best. Too much going on and incoherent dishes. Quantity over quality. A Cleaner more precise flavour profile would be an improvement. Service was good and the ambience not bad. You can fill up here if you don't care that much about flavour. Maybe it was the chef's Monday night off.

Located in the banff park lodge this restaurant is a great choice if you don't want to venture out. Very friendly staff and quick service. The food was delicious! Dishes came out hot and fresh. Duck poutine was such a unique twist on the classic poutine. Duck was well done and the gravy sauce was delicious. Fish and chips surpassed my expectations. Fish was well cooked well and the tater sauce had a surprising dill flavour. Lost a star because. It's need to be noted that the lounge lacated at the front of the restaurant serves a very different menu then the dinning room located at the back. This is not signed very well to indicate that its two separate restaurants. We also had a $20 food voucher from the hotel. This meant that we had to charge our bill to our room and couldn't pay at the restaurant. Would be nice to have the option to pay in restaurant. I will defiantly recommend!!

The calamari is a skip - didn't like that at all. The risotto, shrimp Alfredo and the Rossellena were all good but very rich. Could have used a bit citrus to balance the dishes more. Overall was a good dinner and the service was great.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. There’s three things I expect from a restaurant, certainly a restaurant with good reviews and moderately high prices: Great food, great atmosphere, and great service. La Terrazza didn’t deliver on any of these points. First of all, I want to say, our server was kind. She seemed shy, and wasn’t very outgoing —which is ok. This review is mostly about the food. My wife and I came here, with the high reviews of the restaurant setting our expectations. She ordered the salmon, and I got the lobster linguini -mostly because there was nothing else on the menu that appealed to me. We asked our server how the salmon was prepared and she said: “With salt and pepper”. We thought she was probably just not sure —turns out it was a plain piece of salmon, slightly undercooked, mostly likely poached or steamed, with almost no seasoning or glaze or anything. It was bland. For $37 dollars... My lobster linguini was subpar -mostly because the presence of lobster saved it. This dish was basically their lobster bisque with undercooked linguini and an extra lobster tail on top. I didn’t finish. Bottom line: There are like 30 other restaurants in Banff with WAY better food, service, prices, and atmosphere than this restaurant. I’d recommend The Park Distillery, Eddie Burger, Farm + Fire, or ANY other place.

Our dinner here was excellent! We started with calamari, lobster bisque and cream of asparagus. The lobster bisque was the best. Cream of asparagus and calamari were good but I'd probably try something else next time. My husband ordered the Alfredo and absolutely loved it. So much flavor and the pasta was perfect. I got the lobster linguini which was also delicious. The lobster was cooked perfectly and the sauce was full of flavor. We loved the bread basket and the salty butter with it. Service was amazingly on point and friendly. Overall, the entire experience was great!

We visited this restaurant in January 2019 for a romantic dinner to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. We both ordered pasta dishes and were blown away by the flavour of the food. As foodies, we take restaurant experience very seriously, and boy oh boy, we were not disappointed in anyway. Our server was fantastic and even now 9 months later, we still talk about how amazing this whole experience was! My mouth waters thinking about it! We too were weary of bad reviews, but they blew us away!

Have to admit, we were a bit skeptical of the “best Italian restaurant in Banff” but we cant say that we walked away disappointed (or hungry!). Our server Ibon was amazing and made our dining experience awesome with both great conversation and recommendations. Pasta is made in house using bronze dies (feel free to research bronze vs Teflon dies) and the Rosellini I had was great. Would definately recommend for a hearty meal after a day on the slopes.

I’m hoping that our experience was not the norm, but it was extremely disappointing. The wait staff was extremely understaffed especially for a busy holiday time. It appeared that the manager was waiting tables single handed with minimal support staff (two water fillers/runners). At one point, an entire glass of red wine was knocked over on me by staff. Laundry service was offered, but I declined since I wasn’t a guest of the hotel. For the inconvenience, they did waive the charge for one of my husband’s beverages (but not my wine that was spilled). The halibut was prepared well and the salad was good. Overall, the food was underwhelming, but couldn’t pinpoint exactly what was missing...perhaps the service tainted our opinions of the food.

Highly recommend the Lobster Fettuccini - fresh noodles made in-house, delicious lobster bisque as sauce and half a lobster tail. Service was awesome. Atmosphere is cozy and elegant.

Had dinner here with my boyfriend on a Saturday night. It was empty when we arrived at 5 pm, but the place was booked and filled by 5:30. We had the calamari, gnocchi, rossellini, and a bottle of wine, we also received complimentary bread with olive oil and butter. Everything tasted amazing, very flavourful and great portion sizes. We ended up bringing leftovers home! Service was outstanding throughout, even as the place picked up. Sanda was our server, she was very friendly and knowledgeable. We will definitely come back next time we visit Banff!

We have been here a few times and it's always delicious! The service was top notch, extremely accommodating and professional. I have a gluten allergy and they had several wonderful gluten free options for me! we had the calamari and a creme brulee, I had the shrimp Alfredo and my husband had the chicken parm. My husband and I had a wonderful anniversary at La Terazza and we will be back :)

Great food. This place is a gem and hidden away in The Banff Park Lodge. Higher end dining and really great food/service… right up until the server told my wife “there’s 80’s bowling in town”. So now it would seem I am bowling on my vacation too. This place is an easy recommendation.

Came here last night for a romantic fancy dinner with my partner. The food was absolutely amazing! Big portions, cooked perfectly. Everything about the food and drinks themselves was perfect. However the service was awful. Maybe because we were 2 women there together, maybe because we are in our mid 20’s, or maybe because we weren’t dressed formal and have tattoos. Regardless, everyone around us got better service. All the tables around us never had an empty drink on the table. We were never told the specials, we were forced to order everything including drinks and appys immediately because it was ‘busy’. I had an empty glass of wine for my whole steak dinner then the waitress ‘forgot’ to come back. It’s just really sad to see this happen over and over again. I’m all about food and wine and spending money at nice restaurants but it really ruins the whole experience being treated lesser then everyone else.

Everything about this place is just amazing. The food, ambiance, people, service Everything. We ordered some customized pasta and I actually did not like it( it was good, but was not my tatse) . The waitress was soo sweet that she just took that food away and replaced with something awesome..I was not even charged for it. Also it was my husband's birthday, they got a small piece of cake which was yummmmm and we were not even charged for that too. How sweet is that ????

My wife and I came here as our first dinner out together on our honeymoon. Very romantic atmosphere, extremely friendly staff and approachable owner/manager. They genuinely wanted us to have a great experience. I had the lamb chops, came out medium well/ well done, but as soon as I mentioned they promptly brought out a perfectly cooked and delicious lamb. My wife had the roselline which is the chef's signature dish, very beautiful and delicious. Antipasto and creme brulee was also very good. Wine selection was excellent as well. 10/10 would recommend thanks so much for the wonderful experience

We waited more than 1 hour for our food to serve for dine in but we end up eating it our car because the food took forever to be ready and we were already too late for an appointment. The restaurant had only one chef and helper to serve everyone. I wouldn't recommended going to this place if you are looking for a good service. I would rate the food 3 stars but the serve zero.

My new husband and I ate here while on our honeymoon, and we couldn't be happier with our experience. I got the Rosaline pasta, which the pasta itself is made fresh when you order it! It was incredible. That was part of a 3 course meal which also included a choice of applies and topped off this tiramisu! All of our food was just as good or better than our meals we had in Italy! Our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu, and also fun things to do around Banff! They sat us on an enclosed patio, surrounded by plants, so even though it was dark outside it was still beautiful and cozy. I would highly recommend coming for dinner here.

Last night I placed a take out order of two pizzas and two salads at La Terrazza. When I opened the order I was terribly surprised that the caprese salad was 6-8 grape tomatoes and 1 ball of mozzarella and the carrot/ garden salad was limp and extremely small. The pizza was stacked 3 small pieces on top of three pieces and looked unappetizing all cramped into a small box. I returned to the restaurant with 1/2 eaten pizza and the untouched salads because the principal was that the order was not made properly. The supervisor Ludivine was apologetic but said she could not issue a refund this evening and that we should return the next day to see the manager Chris Bolt. She wrote on the back of the receipt "The guest will be back tomorrow to get a refund - Ludivine". The food was left and we left the restaurant. The next day I returned and spoke to the manager, Chris Bolt, was unwilling to issue a refund. His reason was that the food left the premise and he didn't know what was done to the food once we left the restaurant. He said that was the same quality food that they serve in the restaurant. Bottom line is that this was a very poor experience and I would not recommend this restaurant.

We weren't sure how good the food was, because mixed reviews. First they serve fresh pasta and I had mussels & shrimps pasta with saffron. It was delicious and sauce I haven't had before. My husband had lobster pasta dish and it is even better than lobster pasta dish I had yesterday from different restaurant. It came with whole lobster tail and it was perfectly cooked. Service is excellent. It was very positive experience.

If there was an option to give this restaurant 0 stars, I would, due to the absolutely terrible experience and treatment we had when we were there. After enjoying a meal with decent but slow service from the waiter and her assistant, we were waiting for the bill for 30 minutes and no one came by to give us our bill. The restaurant manager, Nathalie, then came up to us and, in a very loud voice, so the entire restaurant could hear, said that we had exceeded the 2 hour dining time limit and needed to leave the restaurant as there were customers waiting for our table. This would have been fine, if she came up respectfully and asked us to pay our bill and leave in a kind and polite manner. However, she turned the situation on us, making it seem as though we were not cooperating or like she had asked us to leave beforehand. This was not the case. We were never told that the restaurant had a dining time limit and she made it sound like it was our fault for staying long, when it was actually the staff’s fault as they had ignored us for most of the night. The other tables in the restaurant experienced far better service than we did. Furthermore, there were multiple tables that had been there for over three hours and had not been asked to leave. We were nothing but polite the whole night and to be treated in such a disrespectful manner was absolutely ridiculous. After paying the bill, we brought up our issue and concern to Nathalie, who completely dismissed what we said and told us in an insincere way that she was “sorry we felt that way”. In addition, she racially profiled us; due to our race and age, we experienced a completely different level of service from the other tables. To put it plainly, the restaurant manager should not be in the service industry if this is the way she treats people, especially during this hard economic time when we are trying to support local businesses. I would definitely recommend on skipping on this restaurant, as there are many others with far better food and service for a better price in Banff and who know how to not ruin a birthday celebration. We definitely will not be stepping back into this establishment again.

Grabbed a lettuce wrap here, and it was terrible. The fusions of flavours were very interesting, pepper, red onion, fresh ginger and...aoli? There was also less than half a chicken breast, so for $22 I felt quite ripped off, and hungry. Would not recommend to locals. Their service was also terrible. There was one other couple in the lounge and they two servers were making two drinking for 20 minutes, while we were clearly done our meal, have our wallets out and want to get going.

We also had the pleasure of having Josh as our waiter & he was awesome. We really enjoyed our appetizers and drinks aswell as the service from Josh.

Service and food was exceptional. Menu is smaller, but that must be what makes their dishes so exemplary! My wife and I love our Italian, and this might be out of the best places we’ve eaten. She got the lobster risotto, and I got the Rossellini. Would highly recommend!.

Great service! Pastas here are amazing, but they have small portion sizes. Would consider this to be a 2.5 dollar signs on the Google maps scale for pricing. You can find this restaurant in the Banff parka lodge hotel on the left hand side after entering the hotel lobby.

Slow service, overpriced food. First time here and wouldn't go back. Went here with family recently. Food took forever, server was rude. Food was way overpriced for the quality. Not impressed at all. Maybe an off night for the restaurant the night we went, but it was pretty shocking.

Would not reccomend. If you want to waste your money you might as well put it in a shredder, it would be more satisfying. For the prices that they charge you would think you would get quite a large size, the were tiny and not even very good. My friend got the duck. And the server even said when she set it down she said" here's the duck. It's under there somewhere" because there was 4 tiny slices under a pile of arugula for $36 absolutely ridiculous. Will never be going here again. And they wanted to charge $5 to split the pasta we ordered onto two plates. I have never been asked this in my life restaurants usually just do it.

In general the food is ok. The pastas had very unique flavours but the spices could be balanced better. The sauces were a bit on the heavy side and was in need of something to cut through the heaviness. I strongly suggest you do not go for the clam. All in all, not a big fan but its edible and a bit of a disappointment.

Food was a 4 but service was a 2; I’m leaving 2 stars because we left with a bad taste in our mouths as the service dwindled toward the end. We received good service until a table of 4 got seated; after that our server only spent time at that table and ignored all the other tables including ours. 25 minutes passed from the time we finished eating our entrees to the time another employee processed our payment. No apology or attempt to rectify the situation was given. We were very disappointed as, again, the food was delicious but we got ignored at the end of our meal. If all the tables cannot reasonably be attended to then more servers should be working to accommodate the guests; especially as excellent service is generally expected from a fine dining restaurant.

When we first went there we had the Gnocchi, lobster feutccini and calamari which was really good. The calamari portion is way too small. We went back again just to have the Gnocchi and they had taken it off the menu which really sucked. So I hope the owner or the chef is reading this because I really want that dish back. Lol
