The tomato basil soup was pasta sauce with dry buttered bread. The pizza crust is a burnt tortilla, meanwhile the toppings weren't even cooked. They messed up the one pizza order, but the second pizza they brought then had hot peppers, which weren't supposed to be in that pizza. Ate it anyway as it fell apart on us on account that is baked on a thin floppy/ burnt tortilla. Also, the free WiFi didn't work and wasn't working for the other patrons either. Two soups and two terrible pizza came to $50...

Horrible...bad service...totally over priced....nachos were awful..worst we have ever had..was a small plate with cheese whiz and dried parsley. ..horrible..2 beers and nachos 25 bucks plus tip...for what .go to legion down the road n get a pitcher of beer for 13.50...service great..outside patio....view beautiful..that's the place to go????

Cute decor, but not accommodating at all to vegetarians or vegans (literally meat in what was supposed to be plain cheese pizza and bacon in vegetarian salad). Food was cold, stale and not very good. Service was slow. Would not recommend

Everything was OK. It could have easily been way better. Soup could have been way hotter. Hotdog was good but I'm pretty sure it was microwaved. Bread that came with soup may have been homemade, but was not fresh. Dishwasher should be checked. Cutlery and glasses were suspect.

Food was fine. But they had lost our order, so we had to reorder 50 minutes after we had ordered the first time. Spouse ordered over easy eggs, they weren't. Stuff like this happens, I assume it was a one time thing for them. They were nice enough to comp our drinks, juice and coffee. Because we had a 6 hour trip ahead of us, it was mildly irritating to wait the extra hour. May try them again next year.

Dropped in here on our way through Baddeck and decided to test them by ordering a donair pizza. We are happy to report that the donair pizza basically passed inspection and was a really good pizza, like in the traditional Halifax Donair sense. However, it was the greasiest pizza I have had in a long time. They must use a lot of oil. I've attached photos. Great atmosphere and ambience, and you can sit on the deck on the downtown street and look across to the waterfront. A beautiful location.

The ambiance is cute and different from other places in town. Vibrant summer and cozy feels, however thats the only appealing thing about the place and the service is good... The food however... is a little less to be desired, the breakfast is okay, nothing special, the gourmet hotdog is dry and disappointing at least my order was, the pizza's are basic and the nachos is plain boring. I guess the foods are generally not bad but very forgettable. The quality can definitely improve because the place has its own appeal.

Did some research to find a place open on the Cabot trail found this place and we were so excited until we pulled up and saw that it is closed, doesn't look like it's regularly open at all (10am on a Tuesday in October).

Had 16” donair pizza. Thin crust, quality cheese, onions and tomatoes, with thin sliced donair meat on a bed of donair sauce. For me I like the chunkier meat but the pizza was pretty good. Extra chilli and Parmesan shakers given at the table. Super decent… price is normal. Fed 3 easily.

The service was not very prompt. Half of the food was soo soaked in grease we were dabbing it with napkins to soak it up. Also there is no sides with there sandwiches and server failed to inform us of this or offer us a side. Drink refills were also hard to get. ???? maybe they were just having an off day but I was not happy at all

Had the Jost Chardonnay along with fresh caught lobster pizza and Scottish Sundae (Scottish oatcakes, vanilla ice cream and butterscotch sauce) for dessert. We will definitely be back! Service is fabulous, and made for a very relaxing end to a perfect day in Cape Breton. Thanks Devon!

The waitress must be happy tourist season is about over but her happiness need not reflect in her attitude or service. The food was okay nothing special. I had the taco salad and it was like store bought tortilla chips with canned chili poured over. Pizza was good and caesar salad was fresh and crisp.

Not sure why everyone is complaining about presentation and quality of pasta; what did they expect from a quaint little family owned cafe in the tiny town of Baddeck??? Instagram quality food layouts? Decent food, great service and for a town with not much to choose from in the way of food, this isn't bad. Check out the pepperoni hot dog.

Breakfast was expensive & not worth the cost., over $31. Coffees, 2 eggs sausage/ham toast & the potatoes are extra. The menu said hash browns they were frozen little cubes that tasted refried. They were dry & horrible. The ham was thin sliced sandwich deli ham. Really. The waitress acted like she was fast (older woman) she acknowledged us said she would bring coffees, I thought maybe I had misunderstood because she took so long. I gave it 2 stars because the coffee toast & eggs were good. Nope not worth $31.

Not sure why this place doesn't run me the right way. Spaghetti sauce needs some work, and servers seemed to not know what to do with us on arrival (think it was a new waitress.) I'd give them one more shot, though. Just seems like it should be a great spot.

Ate here several time over a few days, both lunch and dinners. The service was always friendly and attentive, and we had a different server each time. Even when it was busy one night, the server checked with us several times to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was good. We had some great salads, that were fresh and tasty. We also enjoyed the pizzas and pasta. They had many varieties of pizza and we tried both the white and wheat crusts. The wheat was surprisingl good. So often it can taste like cardboard, but this didn’t We always too full by the time dessert came around, so we passed. I would come here again.

Had a very bad experience. Asked to a very nice waitress for a table on the terrace (only 1 was empty). She said ok and started cleaning the table for us while we were waiting. A few minutes later, when the table was almost ready, a man arrived and ran to the table and sitted. We’ve been asked to sit inside, we refused and the manager came to us. We asked her to move the man instead of moving us and she refused, saying the man has a disability, even if he was running. Moreover, her only proposition was to sit with that man! A place to definately ban because of the manager attitude.

We were looking forward to a nice pasta dinner on our family vacation. Unfortunately you won't find that at the Yellow Cello. Being a busy night we expected to have to wait for our food ,and we did but we didn't expect the poor quality of our meals. Of all the 3 different dinners ordered not one qualified as "food". Kraft dinner would have been better. The server we had on the patio would be recommended to find employment outside of the service industry as she should be working where she has no contact with the public. When we questioned our server regarding my wife's dinner not being as described on the menu , we were told they didn't have the ingredients offered but never said anything until we asked. Their offer to make things right was to take $2.00 off the $110.00 bill. I can't recommend this facility.

Our group of 5 people enjoyed this quirky and cheerfully decorated restaurant thoroughly. Our orders were taken promptly by the friendly and efficient server. The order was delivered quickly and without error and the food was very good. There was no delay in getting the bills and checkout was smooth. Thanks very much for a great time!

June 29 5::15 pm. Seated quickly in enclosed deck. Kim,our server, gave us the specials and took our drink order. Lobster Fettucine was delicious as was the chicken quesadilla and house salad (greens were fresh and crispy). Service was quick and pleasant. Pricing for resortville was in line with standard canadian size meal. Menu should be updated to remove none offered cocktails.

Looks can be deceiving. Menu looked and sounded good and cute decor. Waited almost 30 mins for a sandwich and salad. BLT was ok but bread was very hard. Asked for a side salad was given a full just romaine, onion, and cucumber with carrot. Had to go find the waitress to get our bill even though there were only 3 tables including us. For my sandwich, salad and pepsi the bill was $28! Do not recommended especially when there are so many other restaurants nearby.

Service was slow considering it wasn't that busy. Lobster linguine entree my husband had was good, but that was the only good part. I would have rated it a 1 if it wasn't for that. I had a Caesar salad which was beyond horrible!! Soggy old lettuce which was literally drowning in dressing. We ordered a 8" meat lovers pizza for our little guy which he barely ate...need I say more. Food quality definitely did not match the $$.

While driving back to Halifax, my family and I decided to stop here for a quick breakfast. The menu looked good and exactly what we wanted. We were seated and waited for 15 minutes and no one came to take as little as a drink order. Others were being served around us but we were left unattended. After 15 minutes we got up and left. They weren't even that busy. I won't ever come here in the future based off today's experience.

Went on a Wednesday afternoon. One waitress working who was nice! Pretty empty. Took about 10 minutes for waitress to take our drink order after we sat down. We only ordered the hamburger nachos that came with a pile of nacho chips, with a handful of toppings on the top parts, and hardly any cheese. Over priced.

Passed by the yellow cello cafe on our way back from Cape Breton Highlands NP. Most establishments were closed when we arrived, so we checked out the yellow cello. Staff were friendly and the decor was vibrant. Soup was good, but unfortunately the Deluxe Vegetarian Pizza turned out to be soggy, so much so we decided not to take the leftovers. As such we could not give the yellow cello a better review. Hopefully better next time.
