I don’t review a lot but felt compelled to comment on both the service and meal we enjoyed at the Cable Room. The service was excellent - not hurried, not slow, very courteous. The 6-oz tenderloin I had was - outside of my husband’s - probably the best seared steak I’ve ever had. Sides were savoury and flavours were delicate. And the homemade desserts, especially the sticky toffee pudding, were the perfect end to our meal. Don’t expect a wide selection of wines - but you’re not eating here to get toasty. I give this restaurant a 5++!

Wow, what a special place! Completely gluten free kitchen with fantastic locally sourced food and friendly staff. Everything was delicious - you’d never even guess the biscuits or toffee sponge cake were gluten free :-)

We are very happy to have found this restaurant while driving through baddeck. Locally sourced foods made for a great meal. We really enjoyed Judy, our server. So pleasent and welcoming. . Charming old historical building.

The best meal we had in Cape Breton by far! We had the lobster risotto, crab cakes, biscuits, and the toffee pudding and "winter in baddeck" for desert. Would recommend copying us! Great, friendly service too.

Amazing quality, great menu, great service and a lovely setting = the perfect dining experience.

I started off with their house salad, made from local sources. It was delicious, the blueberry vinaigrette was subtle enough to taste but didn’t over power the delicious vegetables in the salad, for my main coarse I had the Beef risotto, it was unbelievable, the serving was perfect for an early dinner and the meat was tender and cooked to perfection, to end off the meal I had the Sticky Toffee Pudding. It was delicious. I absolutely recommend this establishment for a romantic getaway or a special dinner night.

Cometly gluten free locally sourced menu

Sadly, very disappointed. The salad came an hour after we sat down... It was, I must say delicious. I enjoyed it. Another 40 minutes for our main course which was disappointing. The flavour was there, but the portion size very small. About 6 beans, one small carrot, half a cherry tomato, few potato slices. The chicken had bits of tendon in it..again, small portion. Not impressed. For the price, I expected more. We choose not to have dessert. We won't be back.

The cottage rental was the best visit. Clean and cute and bed was really comfortable. The unit has a mini fridge and a coffee machine. The Inn itself has a great restaurant "farm to table". I would recommend to anyone coming to Baddeck.

What a wonderful evening. Our waitress ,Gerrianne was so friendly and Kaitlyn who check us in was super. Gave us lots of ideas for things to do in and around the area. Loved the meal , especially dessert, a sticky toffee pudding! We will be back next season!

This place has fabulous food, farm to table, and serves up the local whiskey Glen Breton too. How good is that.
