4 of us had our worst experience in a restaurant - ever at Lakeside Restaurant (Inverary Inn) in Baddeck N.S. The ambience was cold and clinical. The server took some time to take our order then brought our appetizer and left. She did not return to our table for 40 minutes. Eventually after sitting with our dirty dishes and wondering what happened to our main course we called the manager over. He told us that our orders had not been sent to the kitchen. We had been there for one and a half hours. Still no sign of the waitress! The manager placed our orders. My “lobster Mac and Brie” arrived. It was a large bowl of macaroni in a watery liquid. There were a few shreds of lobster, a few tiny scallops, some pieces of tuna on the top and lots of peas. Very disappointing to say the least.

Great service and the food was delicious! I forgot to take pictures because we ate everything so fast. Our server, Donna-Lee was super friendly and welcoming, and our food came quickly. Also great view of the lake which was nice during sunset. Thanks!!

We recommend you take the time to check this spot out. Provides both indoor and outdoor space. Great menu and the food presentation was top notch. We hit the patio for an afternoon of live music and cocktails running 3p-6p. As Hospitality Professionals we were disappointed that our lunch order was not put through and we were not told until the kitchen was closed for the dinner turnover. Kudos to the Manager who saved the afternoon and had us staying for dinner!! Check out the Sea-Cuterie Board, Layered Potato Salad, and hand cut Fries!!

Bus tour from Sydney on Holland America Cruise land tour. My lunch salmon was the best ever. Finished with wonderful carrot cake. Loved it!

So far this season I have ate here at least once per week. I have tried most of the menu, and there are no bad choices. Top picks: potato salad, oysters, lobster, fried chicken, burgers, chocolate cake.

Stopped by for a drink with four of my friends. We were told they had a busy day that we should sit at one of the tables instead of the bar. From that point on, we were ignored by the staff. Bartender walk past us a few times without acknowledgement. After waiting for about 10 minutes, we got up and left without notice. BTW, the bar area was empty so it’s not like they were busy, maybe that should of been our first clue.

Long wait for coffee the first morning and breakfast meal was barely warm the second morning. The food we ordered for dinner was poor quality for the price, sent one meal back did not want to reorder..however our meal was complimentary and was dealt with in a professional manner.

Asides from the service being top notch, the food was a home run all three times I've eaten there. The Lakeside burger and the Mac and Brie cheese with seafood is out of this world!!! Laura was our server and if you need can get her or Lyndsay you're evening will be a hit!

Food was absolutely amazing. Our server was extremely friendly and sweet. Deducted one star for very slow service at beginning that was eventually fixed up. Appetizer/drinks were initially not served with napkins (I don’t enjoy having water drips all over the table and greasy fingers). Wonderful outdoor entertainment!

A wonderful place right by the lake. We got here by 4:45 pm on Saturday without reservations but were lucky to get a table before the crowd set in. The local band was playing and they seemed to have drawn quiet the crowd. They were amazing! We were seated by the window and the view and the live band made our experience fantastically better! We ordered the Lakeside Burger and the Grilled Atlantic Salmon. Both of which were delicious and filling. We also ordered the Old fashioned and Stormy Rum/ginger beer cocktails which were also great. Our server was great.

Everything is amazing. We love the seafood chowder, halibut, seafood Mac and bies. The service is also excellent. The kids portion is big! Highly recommend.

They serve homemade chips instead of bread, which was a nice touch and super tasty! Our table really enjoyed the meat, cheese & honey app - had to request some extra crostini. The lakeside fries were excellent as a shareable as well. We had the Lobster dinner x 1; the layered potato salad presented nicely, has a smoky flavour (not to my taste) and is served cold. The Atlantic Salmon was excellent. And the flourless chocolate cake was the finale. Very rich and dense! Service was good.

Really not impressed with this place. We were seated by a very nice young server. When I said I was vegan, the server said she would ask the kitchen if they could make something specifically for me. Again, very good service by this young lady. She returned quickly saying that the kitchen said no. Not even a suggestion of one of their salads without the bacon, or any other offering. Hey Lakeside, if you want to play with the big boys, you better lose the backwater mentality.

This was a really crummy dining experience. We ordered the fried oysters and while they were tasty there were only 4 on the plate. At $15 this is highway robbery. After waiting a very long time (30-40 minutes) our main dishes arrived. The salmon was nice and cooked properly, but the mounds of pea and mint risotto was unbelievably bland and overcooked. My sister's halibut was overcooked. Our server was given little support from her coworkers and manager, left instead to rush around her tables but neglect us. We were not offered dessert or coffee or after dinner drinks. Given the prices of this restaurant I am EXTREMELY disappointed.

No idea what food is like, but service is atrocious. My wife and I were staying at the resort, and were told by reception that there was an onsite restraunt, withive local music and craft beer. I should of known it was too good to be true. We walked to the restraint from the top of the hill anticipating a great meal, with great music, and local brews......only....we were ignored for 5 minutes, and after asking a waiter if we seat ourselves, he said no, were full, and it will be at least an hour's wait. Yet it wasn't full.....lots of empty tables.....won't be back.....ever
