Very bad service. Very slow. No understanding of COVID-19 rules. Waitresses were making it up as they went along. Had people wait by the door under a speaker Playing loud music while the waitress hollered at them from down a long hall. Made excuses during the whole meal why they couldn’t bring enough menus for dinners. Said they couldn’t clear dishs cuz they wornt wearing gloves. Dirty floors.

Good service and good diner-restaurant food. Variety of menu options: steaks, hot & cold sandwiches, fish, and the usual deep fried. I had the lasagna which was large and beefy, came with a nice garden salad and classic garlic toast. Skip the fast food and stop here to refuel!

Staff were very friendly and attentive. Was a quiet time on a quiet day, so can't say much about atmosphere. Only negative was the coffee, which was pretty bad... time to move up from Hills or whatever that was. The food was delicious. Had late breakfast bacon, eggs, hashbrowns and toutons. All perfectly cooked, fresh tasting and delicious, without leaving any heaviness in my belly.

Sorry,i dint have any big inspectations,but i was hopping frech food, not frozen burger paty and bag pouwder bag gravy,price not so bad,but what cost frech carrots and green peas hoviestly...the soup was good,but command guys its frozen food,cane vegies or dry gravy mix...Gordon Ramsey save us from that wave of low level food,am despointed how the restaurant honer reep pepole off thoses days

This restaurant is just plain amazing. It's not fancy or gimmicky, just honest excellent food at reasonable prices, expertly served with a smile. I think the packed parking lot and dining room (a lot of locals too not just hungry travelers) say all that is needed to say about Monty's but I'll give a little detail to help out anyone who might be deterred by a possible wait for a table. We had a little hiccup with the hostess not knowing the special was sold out, causing a communication error that resulted in an incorrect order. I don't mention this because it's a bad thing but rather to point out the impeccable customer service. It was dealt with quickly by our waitress in the best possible way it could have been. If only every restaurant could grasp the concept of service as they do a Monty's. I had a hot turkey sandwich platter that is honest to god better than homemade. My wife was equally impressed with her meal. Our daughter was over the moon to learn they serve a choice of shoestring or homefries as her preference is "like McDonalds" as I imagine is the case for most kids. Lastly for dessert I had a deep fried Mars bar... Need I say more? We will make every effort to visit Monty's when passing through Whitbourn from now on. Recommended highly.

If you like the keg then this isn't the place for you, the atmosphere is loud, enjoyable, and free. The food was amazing and didn't taste frozen. The staff were friendly and humourous. I will return

Stopped here at 11.35 yesterday, May 16, .Told I was too late for breakfast. Ordered two coffee while my friend was gassing up, and would order when he came in. He filled up , paid for the gas and I still was not served. There we two other customers in the restaurant. We left. We have been accustomed to stopping here for breakfast for the past several years, but lately the service has deteriorated to the point that we will now find another venue.

Server never checked back at all, to refill coffee or see how things were Forgot to bring jam and tartar that we asked for. Fish cakes were deep fried, and did not taste good. Meats were greasy. Beans tasted like they were out of a can. Very disappointing meal here today.

Not sure what everyone else is raving about... guess Newfies have poor tastes in food. Not worth spending money here.

It was ok,just ok ,frozen fish ,frozen burgers should not be served in a nice restaurant like this ,the club sandwich was fine ,In my opinion (as a chef of 25 years ) a club sandwich should be roast turkey bacon,lettuce and tomato. The homemade soup had frozen vegetables but was tasty . It's an ok place to eat but could be so much better with a few small improvements.

Well where do I start.. Went to Monty's on Sunday Aug.7 for breakfast. Sat down and waited 20 minutes then waitress came by and asked if we had menus and we responded No.. She then proceed to take orders from other tables and we still waited for menus. Patiently we waited and went up and asked for menus. waiting another 1/2 hour and still no one came by to take order or even give us a coffee as we waited to order...The four of us waited and waited. We finally got up and left and went else where. I must say I will never go back there again and if the Manager had of been there they would of got a piece of our mind. So I rate this restraunt for service a 1 and poorly run. They have lost 4 good customers..and word of mouth travels quickly....Service SUCKs!!!!!!!!!!!

Monty's Place. An institution. Been there forever it seems. At the end of a 132km motorcycle trail ride that included The Trailway and parts of the Nalcor pole line, my buddy and I ended our ride at Monty's. I had the Sharon Burger. Great as usual. If you haven't been to Monty's, you should go there.

8oz Strip loin steak, fries, fried onions and frozen peas and carrots. Tasted ok, as if it was something that you whipped up for a meal after work. A change from fast food if you've been on the road for a while. Steak was fried with no seasonings by default, kinda bland.
