Sadly, living in an area where Chinese food places are limited, this is where we ended up. Pretty pricey food that was reheated and some burned before they boxed it up. 40 dollars for two smaller combos that honestly were thrown in the garbage. This place used to be great but the quality has disappeared. It is easy to tell that food is prepared quickly without the proper ingredients for flavor. I really hope they are able to get back to the flavor and quality they had years ago.

Stop on other side of that new bridge and taste some of this areas down home Chinese cuisine. Owners Yee and Fonnie will surprise you with great service, low prices and atmosphere. Check it out or have it catered in for your next party.

Wow! Very authentic and delicious. I lived in China for three years and this restaurant is above and beyond. Very fresh vegetables and great flavors. If you’re nearby check this place out!

Pretty good food. I highly recommend the beef broccoli, fried rice and chicken balls. Staff was chatty, polite and friendly.

The service was fine and the lady at the counter was friendly, but the food was not great and expensive. I had the sweet and sour pork dish and the pork was so rubbery inside the batter, that it felt like chewing on a large pencil eraser.I couldn't even eat it and ended up just eating the outer batter coating and was left with a container full of grey rubbery pork pieces that no human would be able to eat.Even a grizzly bear would have had trouble eating that pork.I have eaten at many similar establishments all over the world and this was the worst pork dish I had ever tried to eat. It cost about $16 for the rubber pork dish. Another member of my party had fish and chips and the fish was overcooked and the batter was very hard and unappetizing.It felt like trying to chew on a brick .The fries were quite ok. Another member of my party had the The kung pao chicken dish which was quite good and another person had the standard issue chicken balls and rice which were ok as well and like you'd find at a thousand other "Chinese-Canadian" joints in the country.The Won Ton soup was standard issue and ok as well, but too expensive at over $8 for a smallish serving. The serving of white steamed rice was standard issue as well, as it is next to impossible to screw up steamed white rice. Hoi Pun has gone downhill over the past number of years, but the prices have increased substantially. One star and that is being generous. The total was almost $90 dollars for 4 dishes,2 of which were inedible.

Way over priced for small containers, it was awful , tasteless almost stale and burnt tasting from whatever they used to cook or heat it up with, it is not edible, worse Chinese food i ever tasted.

Always a favourite when visiting or sightseeing Placentia and Argentia. I personally have been an occasional customer for 30 years. Great restaurant in a great area!
