When up around the bay for a drive to show some friends Dildo, when over that way I always stop at Brown's, very good food for the price and the serving is filling, love the chicken and chips gravy and dressing, a must have when home on Holidays, very accepting of my Service Dog as well, so this place is Ryder and Yance approved and recommend for sure.

Very friendly staff, beautiful view and excellent service. Been here 3/4 times since we moved to Dildo and would definitely keep coming. The music they play is excellent ( love listening to local talent )and the restaurant is decorated very nice.

I come here with my Nan a few times every summer. The food is a tad over priced for the tourists but it's good. The deep fried icecream is to die for. They sometimes have live entertainment, there is a gift shop, and there are paintings available for purchase on the restaurant walls.

We have been going to Brown’s on our annual visit to Newfoundland since 2006. We are treated like family by the Brown’s. The fish and chips are fanatic and can not compare our Ontario restaurants. Great food, service and view.

This was a great place to stop and grab a bite. The restaurant looks out onto the ocean where we saw whales throughout our meal. The fish and chips were fantastic and the place is very honey and comfortable.

The staff were absolutely wonderful. They were friendly and helpful. The food was fried and heavily salted. So I can only recommend eating here to people that like deep dried, battered and salty. The desserts were excellent. Without a question. We tried the patridgeberry and we were pleasantly surprised at how well done it was.

Husband and I had a wonderful Friday night scoff. He is allergic to gluten, but had choices. He had pan-fried cod, carrot, peas andashed potatoes. I had the roast turkey dinner, with carrot, peas and sweet potato fries. The meal cam hot and fast. Browns is a local institution and serve nice portions of tasty food. The menu is quite varied. Lots of deep-fried choices on the menu. My clothes smelled of grease after and I was glad I hadn't eaten the fried fish or chicken. Husband had macaroons and declared blueberry was best. I had coconut cream pie. Lots of coconut! And we had homemade ice tea without sugar, an unexpected offering, as I love it, but usually it's full of sugar.

A vegan tourist on the Newfoundland shore. I thought I'd never be able to eat. They went above and beyond with fresh steamed vegetables and other nice fixings. Great people, great food, great experience.

The food was great! The service was ok. That's why I give it 3 stars. Myself and dad went there and we were sat at the table for at least half hour before our orders were taken while other people were being served before us who were there after we were. The tables were small and a bit cramped as well! Also there wasn't a lot to choose from on the menu and the prices were a bit over for what was there.

Enjoyed a wonderful traditional Sunday Dinner: salt meat, cabbage, turnip, carrots, turnip greens, potato, pease pudding, pastry, roast beef, & gravy. What a feed! Served very quickly by a friendly & courteous waitress. All Covid precautions in place. Partridge berry crisp with ice cream for dessert. This place is a winner!!!

The fish and chips were delicious! So happy we stopped for dinner. All desserts are homemade. We were too full for dessert but could not resist getting the gingerbread and rum sauce to go! The ladies working tonight were very friendly and made the meal that much more enjoyable.

The prices here are higher than usual. For a 2 piece fish and chips (nothing else included) is $18.95. For a fish burger alone (battered cod with lettuce, tomato, mayo on a bun) it was $8.95, no fries included, so I bought a small fries on the side, which were $4.50. Food was really fresh, and service was friendly, but the prices of things would deter me from going back anytime soon.
