We have the opinions of people who are purchasing the services of The Melting Pot Edmonton (Restaurant) in the area close to Alberta (Canada).
At the present this firm receives a rating of 4.3 stars over 5 and the score has been calculated on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that it reaches an reviews average is very good, and it is founded on a high number of feddbacks, so we can conclude that the evaluation is very faithful. If there are many people who bothered to leave their feddback when they are happy, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to place tatings when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant is classified in the category of Restaurant.
Great place with great food and good service. Great place for a romantic date night and even for a group of people to share some fondue.
Had a great time! The 4 course dinner was amazing! Come hungry though lol!!
A fabulous place for even large parties. They accommodated me and 20 other family members for my birthday. Service, food, experience... All incredible.
Thanks for the amazing service today and all the help making my wife's birthday super awesome!
Delightful service and the food was amazing. During these covid times, make reservations in advance. You'll have to call them when you arrive for your reservation to be brought in.
Came here for just cheese and chocolate so we sat at the bar. It was very enjoyable, the food was great and it was fairly quiet but the male bartender/server was excellent too!
Service was horrific! Waited about 20 minutes for our first drink. The waitress brought 5 out of the 6 drinks. Then after waiting about another 10 minutes we flagged her down snd asked where the other glass of wine was. Her reply was , oh ya, we are out of that and continued to her other table. Food finally came, all of us had no wine left, we had finished our cheese pots by this time, still no beverages. All in all, terrible service, food average. Went to earls after and continued our evening. Definately will not return!
Loved it. Our server was amazing. And funny. Overall great experience
A fantastic experience all around. Definitely a meal you want to take your time with, highly recommend the full four course experience. There were four of us so we ended up with two cheese, two meat, and two chocolate fondues as well as being able to choose our salad and type of meat for each person. It's not cheap but well worth it. Portion sizes looked small but after the entire meal was done we left feeling full without being stuffed. Waiter was excellent and friendly as well and the Happy Anniversary desert plate was a nice touch!
The food and drink were excellent, as was the service. It's worth noting that a four course meal can take a couple hours, but this is time well spent with friends or family.
Had an amazing time! Special about out to Taylor, our server who was so sweet and attentive!! We had a very great fondue, and we were raving about it the whole drive home. Will definitely be back!!
Disappointing first time here as outlined below: 1. Why is it so dark in there? Like, FOR WHAT REASON? What kind of ambiance are they trying to set, especially in a maze-like setting? A lawsuit? 2. The wait in between courses was horrendous. I should only spend almost 4 hours at a restaurant because I WANT to, NOT because I HAVE to. 3. The food was SO mediocre. Why would I come here when I can just go to an Asian Hot Pot and get way more servings and actually enjoy the food for a lesser price? Girl just go to Superstore and buy the ingredients yourself and you'll have your own Melting Pot. 4. The amount of mistakes with my table's orders were embarrassing. I also got second-hand embarrassment from how the establishment handled their mistakes. It. Was. Laughable. All of these amazing reviews and I wonder if somebody's lying.
Amazing staff. We are a difficult group with many dietary concerns. We had a special Occasion and our server worked hard with kitchen staff to ensure everyone had each concern answered. The server was very patient, took his time, and made sure nothing was missed. A really great dining experience. Food was good and we had a great time.
This place is always enjoyable. Incredible food and service. Nick was our server and that dude rocks!
This was a unique experience. Loved everything, including the excellent service. However, friends had told us to look forward to the fantastic cheesecake. When the chocolate arrived, we discovered that the cheesecake has been replaced with Rice Krispy squares. Not as enticing.
Booked a reservation here for 7:00 pm to celebrate an anniversary. From what I remembered this was a mid - higher end place, we decided to dress up since it was a special night. Let’s start with it is no longer in the business casual category, there was everything from ball caps and ripped jeans to business. Got there and was not seated until 7:15 – although many people coming in after us got seated way before (not sure what that was). Got to our table and a waitress came over, she was very giggly and asked to take our drink order, when she said she didn’t have Corona, we asked what beers they had, she listed off a few so we picked one, only for her to laugh and say nope sorry don’t have it, this went back and forth a few times before we gave up and ordered a vodka. When she left we were both a little stunned as to her demeanor but laughed it off to a new waitress. When she returned with our drinks and started to explain the food menu, which made no sense, we asked how long she had been there (assuming she was new to this) only to find out she had been there a long time, so we laughed when she said oh I’m just tongue tied and not with it today. Our mistake, we assumed she would shake it off, We placed our food order, the 4 course meal, about 20 min later she came with the Cheese fondue, while adding the cheese to the pot she was stirring and laughing so hard the cheese was flying all over the table and heating element, my boyfriend and I just stared at each other and hoped it wasn’t going to land on us. She then left in a hurry, and when we tried to start we realized no utensils were left, took us about 10 min to flag someone down, when she came by another 15 min later, she dropped our salads on the table and laughed about the utensils, didn’t ask if we wanted another drink we had to get her to stop and take the order, 25 min later we still didn’t have drinks, all the dirty dishes and glasses were on the table, waitress was nowhere to be found. We decided to just quietly ask for our bill and leave, it was a disappointment, we had already been there over an hour (after being seated) and couldn’t get a drink or service. When we asked for the bill (from a whole other waitress) she obviously knew something was wrong and got the manager, sadly although the manager went through all the customer service training items, of “oh that’s terrible”, “oh that shouldn’t have happened”, and gave us a complimentary chocolate fondue (which is useless since we won’t be back) but there wasn’t an ounce of genuineness. It bothered me that we paid $70.00 for a cheese fondue, salad and two drinks but I was prepared for that but when the manager came off as condescending it took all my power to just walk away without a scene, I have to admit at that point my boyfriend got annoyed and made a comment about going to Wendy’s for better service, at which time the manager quipped back I hear the frosty’s are good there. I have to say I’m still a bit speechless about the whole experience however we went to Royal Pizza to actually get something to eat and had a great time with the best service…just comes to show price doesn’t always guarantee good service.
Always a great place! Great food, great service and great drinks. A great place for a date night or a classy social gathering.
It was a great experience and delicious food
Overall my experience at this restaurant was a positive one. The food was delicious, and the layout and atmosphere of the restaurant was beautiful. What was the coolest thing I've seen in a long time was you got your own little fondue burners built right into the table, which was pretty darn awesome! The fondue stove wasn't built into the table in a tacky or in an awkward way at all. They really went above and beyond to make it look and work perfectly. This spot has to be the best in Edmonton to go to for a first date, anniversary or to celebrate an (adult) birthday. I don't know how I feel about taking kids to a place like this. Just hot oil and grabby kids may end in a few burns. The one thing I didn't like how expensive a simple meal cost. For a friend and I just ordering the basics (No cocktails, etc) the bill was over $100! I went back to "The Melting Pot" few days ago on a Friday for a date. I'm a Vegetarian and my date was an Omnivore. So they brought out my meal almost immediately, and then we waited for his dish to come so we could cook them in the fondue together. I didn't want to be rude and start cooking my food at the table, while he hasn't even received his yet. We waited 20 minutes till it arrived (We were both just STARVING!) Overall a great place to go for a unique dining experience. I just wish it was a little more affordable, and not nearly as impossible as it currently is to get in without a reservation. If you show up without one, expect a wait easily up to an hour or longer.
Aaron, our fondue guy, was really great. He took good care of us. I totally enjoyed my birthday dinner, and they made sure they got us exactly where we wanted. It was pricey, but totally worth it.
Absolutely love this place! Great spot for a couples night out or family setting, be sure to take your time or you will be very full at the end! Recommend the battered main course!
Great place for a date. Long wait to finish all your courses but definitely worth going to. It's also a little pricey for the amount of food you get but still is great food
Everything was phenomenal. Extremely pricey but worth every penny. The experience alone makes it worth while.
My fav place. If you want a really special night - this place is the best!! It is not the place to go if you are in a hurry but if you want to enjoy a leisurely dinner it is perfect!
Fantastic experience and great service. Staff are super friendly and attentive to your needs. Expect to spend at least two + hours here if you get the full 4 course dinner (best value!!)
Every time I've been they are out of draft beer, I'm not one to order bottles when I go out. The meals are always good and it's a great time to chat with family and friends. Expect to stay for around 2-3 hours If they had draft beer and more than one on tap I would rate it higher.
I loved the restaurant. It was very cozy and romantic. The staff was very professional. Carter was amazing. The food was good especially the fondue part. It was very cool to cook our own food; however, the meat didn't taste very good. I …
The food was good but it took 49 minutes for us to get the bottle of wine we ordered and an hour to get a glass of water. Oddly understaffed to the point of ridiculousness. For $200 for 2 people, I expect much better service.
Delicious food as per usual. Came for our anniversary and loved it all. Only thing I can say is that they used to make the cheese fondue right infront of you but they didn't this time making me think it's changed with covid (haven't been since before all of it). Was great to get out again though and definitely enjoyed it!!!
Very cool dining experience. Food was excellent.
This was my second time experiencing the Melting Pot. Just as great as the first time. Even with the restrictions the staff was still fun, easygoing and done a great job! As soon as we arrived we called to let the staff know we were there. Within a minute we were able to enter and sit at our table. The food was exceptional and again i over-indulged ????. The flaming turtle dessert was 10/10.????
Went for our anniversary . Nothing but good things to say. Food was amazing and the romantic package was all we could have hoped for. Dark romantic lighting , private booth, and roses . Service from our waiter Carter C was the best I have had ever. This was the best date night in our lives and I would recommend it for anyone . Saw some bad reviews so was a little sceptical but honestly was the perfect night out with perfect results Great job guys
Although our reservation was at 6:15, we weren't seated until 6:45 but it was worth the wait! The food was fresh, the waitress Sefina was so helpful and did her best to accommodate anything we asked for. The chocolate fondue is always my favorite. A great experience overall.
Fondue for all! This place knows how to get it done. Make a reservation if you have a larger group, they are pretty full most of the time.
Such a wonderful experience! Book ahead and save 3 hours for the dinner if you choose to do all of the courses! We had a concert to go to and the waiter was amazingly efficient! He had us in and out in 2 hours and we did the whole thing with a bottle of red! Very expensive but worth the experience!
Every year on our anniversary we come to the Melting Pot (today was our 5 year anniversary). This was by far the worst experience we have had. It took 45 minutes to bring us the water we ordered (we had to ask for it twice). My husband asked for a knife to eat his main course with (he had used his knife with his salad and it had been taken away) and the knife literally never came. There was almost an hour between our second and third course. When our chocolate course arrived he placed it down and walked away without giving us plates (he mentioned that the kitchen was out of plates and he would bring some ASAP). the chocolate was cold and we had to mix in the peanut butter ourselves. The bill was placed on our table before we were even done eating (again, we waited an hour for our second course, we are actually really fast eaters compared to your regular person). In total we spent almost 3 hours there and not by our choice. If I’m dropping over $200 on a meal for two people I expect better service than that. We’ve already decided that our next anniversary will be spent elsewhere.
Me and my boyfriend came here for our anniversary and it was absolutely fantastic, the food was amazing and the service was great even on a busy night, special thanks to our waiter Finn who was very funny and very helpful in helping us order and making sure we were taken care of.
This place is unlike any other in the city! Amazing food, service, experience. Dayna was our server and she was so friendly, helpful with our questions and always on the ball. This place is our fave! Must go!
Great love melting pot go here probably once a month or so its normally good and if theres anything wrong they usually fix it right away
This was my second time here and I'd have to say it's been awesome both times. Perfect place to bring a pretty girl and the tables set up is a very cool experience. Must try.
Lovely and organized staff always provide a great experience. From intimate 2-person dinners to groups, The Melting Pot has a beautiful presentation of deliciously prepared ingredients for you to cook in your own fondue. The standard four-course meal includes a cheese fondue, salad, entree fondue, and DECADENT dessert fondue. They do a fantastic broth-fondue; if you're used to oily splattery fondue, TRY A GOOD BROTH FONDUES. They have such a great set of flavors that do so much better at highlighting the flavors of the items you cook.
Only reason I gave it one star, besides its the lowest rating, is because the food we cooked was good. Our experience was a nightmare from the first minute into the restaurant. After being told we would have a 5-10 minute wait for our table, we waited 30 minutes only to have them seat another reservation who had walked in 20 minutes after us. When this was brought up with the hostess we were blown off. 10 minutes later we were finally seated and had the manager come over but only to up-sell us on a more expensive diner. The waitress was overly pleasant but did not listen and would disappear for 10-20 minutes at a time resulting in no food being brought to our table for over an hour after our reservation time. Snide remarks, being ignored, and basic food makes this restaurant not one I would recommend. Go to the La Ronde and have a fantastic meal for the same pricing with excellent service.
Our server was David, he was very fun and a pleasure to have as our guide through the experience
Omg I truly can say that this is now my most favorite restaurant of all times. This is not just a meal, it is an experience! The setting if the restaurant is so intimate, I love the booths that provide you with your own personal space to enjoy your meal. The cheese fondue was my personal favorite but I love cheese lol. The meat fondue was delicious! We picked the broth with the red wine as cooking style, YUM!! The chocolate fondue was a delicious way to end a lovely meal. Loved their wine selection, can't say enough good things about this place ♡
Had a wonderful experience here even though we dined very close to closing time, Kennedy was our server. He did a wonderful job at explaining all the cheeses and being attentive without being overbearing. I left my iPhone X at the restaurant and he went out of his way to get it back to me even after closing.
Very expensive and not so friendly staff. Also they charged us twice for single dish we ordered which was not mentioned to us before.
Wow! Just wow! Absolutely amazing experience we had here . Everything was perfect. The service, the food, the ambiance, we Absolutely loved it and can't wait to come back!!
Had an issue with getting seating at our reservation time, waited about 20 minutes after our reservation before being seated. That being said, they made up for it in spades. The staff were incredibly friendly, great at explaining the menu, and the service was quick. Props for making a potentially bad time really good!
This is an awesome dining experience! Really a nice treat!
My fiance and I came to the establishment this evening to celebrate her birthday and good old date night. Our reservation was for 1915hrs. We arrive and your hostess was far more concerned with her clipboard than welcoming us properly. While we waited we had staff walking inbetween us with no manners. We then waited almost twenty minutes for our table to be placed in the lounge. I then asked the kid who wouldn't take his hands out of his pockets for a seat in the restaurant and was told that your too busy and I would have to wait. So we took the lounge and he left. He returned a few minutes later with menus and again left. Two minutes or so later a server placed water on the table and left. "Here is some water for you". No greeting. No introduction. No I'll be right back. Further more I watch people who arrive after myself be seated in the restaurant and was told that it was too busy. I am a recovering alcoholic and to be stuck sitting next to the bar while other people get the tables is disappointing. They have a manager on the floor walking around with one hand in his pocket the other twirling his moustache. After 30 minutes or server Michelle just arrived and is super friendly however this is not nearly the experience that we have expected from The Melting Pot. Perhaps I expected more of a fine dining experience. The manager did just come and speak to me and I expressed my concerns. He did move us to an open table in the restaurant. The manager never came back to check in on us. The food portion was not near worth the money. It took 3 hours almost to the minute for our dining experience. Won't be back..
Excellent service, food is delicious. You'll never leave hungry. Waitress reminds you of the parent that frets that you're too thin and tries to add a few pounds to the waistline when you come home for a visit. Washroom could do with a second hand dryer and automatic door though. Single hand dryer have known to malfunction.
I went here for a surprise date night. We were walked to a very cosy and romantic table. We ordered the Lobster indulgence for two which includes your choice of soup or salad (many different choices), any cheese fondue, cooking style and a chocolate fondue. It was actually quite an amazing amount of food, even for the price. We left beyond full so I recommend going with a big appetite or choose a la carte if you are after lighter fare. What really impressed me was the wonderful service. The hostess was indifferent but our server Leandro was extremely informative and friendly. He answered all of our questions and made some really helpful suggestions for the wine, the amazing soup and the cooking style. Thank you for bringing such joy to our evening! We will be sure to return for special occasions.
Highly disappointed. Went there with a girlfriend and high expectations. Two and a half hours later I left $100 poorer and a bit frustrated. Not very full though. Not impressed with the bread fondu. Service was absolutely terrible. Drinks too 15 minutes each time. But the chocolate fondue was spectacular. Best part of the meal.
Amazing selection of fondue and drink pairings ! Have come here for many occasions now and its always an unforgettable experience! Pricey but so worth it !
What's not to love about the melting pot?! This place is amazing. The food is incredible, service is spectacular, atmosphere is spot on. It feels like a personal dining experience. Make a reservation, as it's a very popular place and give yourself lots of time (like 2-3 hours for the full experience). It is pricey but worth the splurge for the occasional treat.
One of my favorite dinner experiences, unfortunately the service is subpar. If I have to say excuse me to get my servers attention multiple times in one dinner....
Overall Food: 3 Service: 4 Ambiance: 4 Value: 3.5 Recommend or Repeat: Y
I’ve been going for the past few years all to find out now the portions are smaller and it’s still the same price. Definitely will not return after my last visit.
Always such a wonderful experience!! The food is great, service is awesome!
Great place for dinner whether it be romantic or with friends.
The Melting Pot is one of few fondu establishments in the city, but even then the experience is good, not great. Your dining experience will consist of your servers bringing out several different courses for your starter, dinner and dessert, should you choose a multi-course meal. The fondu sits in front of the patron on a burner built into the table, while customer either cooks the item in the pot with their prongs, or simply dips the item in the fondu, depend on the type of meal. Personally, I prefer my meals already prepared as opposed to leaving that to the customer, and the fondu preparation and entire dining experience can take well over an hour, closer to two. There are also large gaps between seeing your server, who doesn’t do a whole lot. Between the time commitment to dine at The Melting Pot and the fact that the fondu selection is good but not amazing, I would really only visit The Melting Pot if I was with a friend, family member or business associate who insisted on going.
Lovely atmosphere, awesome staff and a great experience. There are always seasonal specials that are delicious. Can go with family or friends, is a bit pricey.
Very good over all experience
Great Food and service, just need to go without our kids next time.
Was late for a reservation and there wasn't an issue. The food was excellent and Julia deserves every bit of gratitude for dealing with a couple lovebirds on our non valentines celebration. The staff represented a team atmosphere. Highly recommend for any memorable occasion.
Delicious!!! Very filling. Can be pricey, but an awesome experience.
Tried their dessert melting white chocolate with banana pot, it was delicious!
I’m extremely disappointed with the service we received from this once amazing restaurant. I’ve been to this location many times and have always been Extremely satisfied with the service that we receive considering the price. This last time we went the quality of the food was very poor as well as the service. We had to ask numerous times for assistance. This is extremely disheartening as this was one of our favourite places to eat out in Edmonton.I’m not sure if I will go again.
Really good. Highly recommended ????
Be ready to spend 3 hours enjoying fondue. We did the full course meal for 2 which was really nice. It's expensive but I recommend it. My only complaint is that I am pescatarian so I wanted to aub something instead of chicken for the sea and land option. Instead of offering an alternative we had to pay $10 more to build your own. I would just like them to accomodate my diet as I don't see the need for an extra $10 charge to substitute chicken. Anyways the food was great and I left extremely full. Also keep in mind that you can ask for extra vegetables, bread and fruit. The chocolate fondue is extra sweet so keep that in mind if your ordering it. It was a little sweet for my taste but a chocolate lovers dream.
Utterly enjoyable! Went recently for the first time, and from start to finish the evening was delightful. The ambiance, staff, service, food and fun were equally done with the care to provide an exquisite and refined yet, comfortable experience. Our server she was very pleasant, and personable. That means the world when one decides to dine out not just eat out. All in all you can see and feel how the Melting Pot wants to provide an experience and a awesome one at that. What more could a customer want then to feel invited, welcomed and cared for. Not just a paying customer. I think any body would enjoy and appreciate the experience with anybody they want to spend and savor time with. Thank you, to the staff and all those who contribute to the good vibes of TMP. Keep up the good work Can't wait to go again!
This was the best fondue I have ever had, food was awesome the waiter was awesome, I was a little cheesed I didn't win fondue for a year but it's ok I'm still surviving. If you have never been or thought about trying it stop thinking and just go you won't regret it.
Walked out as I didn't want to spend $109.99 on lunch for a little pile of meat but the atmosphere was nice. The price is pretty steep for what you get. I just don't feel the value is there for the price tag
Was excited to find a fondue restaurant by my house on the south end of Edmonton. Arrived for a late lunch at about 1:40pm. We walked out at 2:05 because we had not received even an offer of water. Several wait staff walked by and did not even look at our table, we weren't even able to flag them down to ask for water as they would speed walk past the table. Absolutely one of the worst accounts of service I've had.. or lack of service I've had. Very disheartening as I love fondue and for sure would have made this a regular spot to eat.
One of my favourite places for a special night out. The fondue is constantly outstanding--from the cheese to the chocolate you'll never pick a bad flavour. Everything is fresh, the meat is exceptionally spiced, and the service is always incredible. Would highly recommend for a unique night out!
Waiter’s recommendation for cheese fondue was not great (tasted too much like alcohol for my taste) but the chocolate was delicious!
Food was pretty good. instructions were given very autopiloted and quickly. I barely caught them. Little timers would be a nice addition (light flashes, i could see beepers being annoying). Overall good experience, would return maybe on yearly or every other year basis as an event.
Such a great and fun experience. A bit more on the pricy side but definitely worth every dollar. Food was great and waitress was so nice, bright, and welcome always with a smile and makes the experience so much more special. Definitely something you should try at least once. We did the 4 course meal and it was more than enough food we couldn't even finish it. The cheese fondue and desert were the best and overall amazing food. 100% recommend
I had no reservation, and was dressed in my Oilers Jersey with my wife, celebrating a date night with no kids, and they treated us well and seated us right away. Wonderful experience every time we visit!
Way too over priced for what it is. The drink service at the table is slow. Go for the chocolate and the cheese. But this price to boil meat at the table.... Pass on that.
It's quite the experience! Dim lighting and food cooked right at your table makes for a wonderful evening. The staff are sure to check on you and make sure everything is tasting good.
We had an absolute amazing experience. It was our first time and we really enjoyed ourselves. Service was superb. Ask for David ???????? we had a 4 course meal and the pace of everything was perfect, and the food was delicious! Highly recommend.
What an awesome experience. Cheese fondue was by far my favourite!
Perfect place for date night. Well worth the cost. Nice relaxing atmosphere, take your time no rush feeing. Phenomenal good food and service. My wife and I love this place. A perfect escape.
As always a fantastic experience, but the children prices have sky rocketed. Over double (almost triple) than before the pandemic. Unfortunately due to that we won't return- but if cost is no problem, then still a fantastic experience
Really yummy! The white chocolate banana is AMAZING.
I have been wanting to eat here for years and finally got the opportunity tonight. It did not disappoint! The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. A great experience from start to finish.
Great place to spend an afternoon with family or friends. Who doesnt enjoy fondue and some laughs.
First time I've been to the Melting Pot. Great experience. Everyone was great. The service was wonderful. The food was AMAZING.
We go here often and for every celebration , we’ve noticed some minor changes that have made the experience not as enjoyable :( There’s no candied pecans for the flaming turtle, and the strawberries were soggy. They tasted almost as if they had been frozen. Not fresh. However we had great service and the servers are very friendly .
Awesome! The servers are so attentive And patient with out stupid questions ???? Everything was so good! They smoked my husbands whisky in front of us! It was amazing!!
Edmonton's Best Cheese/Chocolate Fondue It was my first time visiting The Melting Pot and didn't disappoint. If you're deep into any kind of cleaneating phase for the next month, then avert your eyes . For everyone else, there's cheese. Lots and lots of lovely melted cheese. To help you live your best life, visit Melting Pot! Our favorite is spinach artichoke cheese fondue was very creamy and rich. Everything dipped in chocolate tastes better. It's scientific fact (no it isn't) While strawberries, brownies, and marshmallows serve as delicious and adequate standalone desserts, only the exuberant coating of rich melted dark chocolate can elevate them to a drool-worthy dessert. From savoury cheeses to rich and creamy chocolates and excellent signature cocktails, I can say that they did a great job Thank you Nick you are the best! Note: Reservations are recommended online, when you arrive you need to call them for them to open the door for you and check your QRcode vaxx records.
Always great food & atmosphere. We always leave full, maybe a little too full. It is expensive, but its worth every nickle.
Very amazing experience with great food. The service was a little slow but the food is worth it!
We have been to The Melting Pot twice, first time was for valentine’s day a year ago and it was a nice experience but the rose and candle that was suppose to be on the table waiting for us wasn’t there we had to ask where it was, once We asked we were apologized to and it was brought to the table. This time we went on a Sunday I made reservations for 8:15 and when we got there there was a crowd of people at the front, we were a couple minutes early and we were told that they were running slightly behind and it might be about a 10 minute wait , we said that fine and started to wait 20 minutes later I asked how many people were in front of us and how much longer and they said they couldn’t give a definite time but it would probably be about a 20-25 minutes wait, at this point we left and went to another restaurant last minute cause there were groups in front of us that had been waiting for almost an hour. I understand things happen to put restaurants behind with reservations schedules but if your going to running around an hour late and you take the phone number when you make the reservation you should have someone call to let people know so they could change plans, I had a babysitter so on top of not wanting to wait, no chairs to wait on, being hungry I also had to consider the time I was paying for so I could have a nice evening to celebrate my anniversary. So I would not recommend this restaurant it’s a great experience but with the things that go wrong it’s more headache then anything else.
I have been to the Melting Pot 6 times with different groups anywhere from 2 to 10 people. It does take time (3 hours is about average) but so worth it. There is time to chat and the food is amazing! The last time they had the Edmonton Night Out with the best cheese fondue so far. Be prepared to take your time and enjoy.
Great food! Great experience! Went here for our anniversary, and was very happy with the food and service! It's a little tricky your first time figuring out how to order, but the severs are so helpful! Food for the main course comes out raw, and you cook it as you eat it. Will definitely go back!
Bar staff while we waiting to be seated were AWESOME!!!!!!
It was delicious and warm romantic atmosphere we loved it
My first company work outing was here, my husband proposed to me here, and I plan on attending every year for my remaining years. The service is always prompt, the food is always great (even things we didn't care for were not terrible), and the desert is something to be desired after every meal (I recommend the ilk chocolate fondue with a splash of Grand Marnier.)
Was surprised by an evening at the Melting Pot for my birthday. Though they were busy, our server Michelle was outstanding. She took the time to explain everything thoroughly and was very friendly, personable and funny. In fact, we all noted that she wasn't just giving us polite pleasantries and small talk. She was really creating a connection and being extremely genuine and real which is a very nice change from most restaurant experiences. I have never been a huge fondue person, but I was surprised by the variety available and the gluten friendly options . The food was fantastic. All around terrific experience and I can't wait to go back. Thanks, Michelle!
Meal type
Awesome place. Nice and cozy. The food was delicious. And chocolate fondue was amazing!!!!!
Definitely good food. Lots of different options and a reasonable price for what you get.
It's ok. Something to try and be done with it. I am not sure why the over inflated prices though, especially when you cook your meal by yourself.
Fantastic service! The food was incredibly delicious, and the drinks were very tasty. Our server took great care of us, always making sure our drinks were full and taking our empty plates away. We've been here once before and they are very able to accommodate for celiac dietary restrictions. Overall a fantastic experience and we will definitely be back again!
Awesome food and ambience. Quite expensive if you want the 4 course meal...
Such a great experience with friends. The food was delicious, we were entertained by the lovely staff, and when the night was done, oh yes, we were full!
The food was ok, but the service wasn’t great. Had to flag the Waitress down if we wanted something, and took forever.
So good... so delicious... so delightful. Highly recommend this place. It is so worth the money. I recommend getting the 3 fondues where you start with cheese, go to the meat fondue and then finish off with the chocolate fondue.
An experience all to itself. Once a year they have all you can eat. Other times they have an extensive menu with loads of choices. Food comes to the table raw, you use a hot pot to cook it on a stick and they give you sauces for dipping. Some items were spicy, even though they said they weren’t. Staff were busy, but polite. I did have an issue when I stepped out for a smoke, the restaurant had just closed but the hosts at the front said they’d be there and let me back in. Well, less than 5 min later, they were gone. I rang the bell, but no one came. Thankfully I had taken my phone and called my partner to come let me in, it was windy and cold and being locked out for 10+ minutes wasn’t nice. Other than that it was a good evening though.
Best fondu in town that I've tried! Something to note, it's not cheap and the room can be a little dim in sections which may or may not bother you. In my case it didn't.
More than a meal, The Melting Pot is a dining experience unlike any other in the city. It takes time, it is fine-tuned to the preferences of your table, and you can trust that everything will be cooked to your liking because you do the cooking! ;) The waitstaff are ceaselessly incredible - attentive, fun, and knowledgeable of their menu. I have been to this location maybe a dozen times and literally never had anything but exceptional service. For my wife's birthday recently, we did the 3-course lunch and our server Aimee went above and beyond to take great care of us. Expensive so not an every week outing, but worth it for special occasions.
Best Date nite location ever!!! We had a seat in lovers lane, and it was amazing! Almost like serendipity! Our server was a big talker, which I’m not usually into, however he educated us very well on our first fondue! We will Defiantly go back!
Good fun experience, but we had 5 different people serve us! We were there for two hours and only saw the our waitress 3 times. she didn't even bring us any of the food these guys did and this manager looking guy in a suit had to explain what we got when they brought out the food? The server should do that. All she did was take our order and say how's it going? Why would I tip that? I'd rather tip the manager that explained all the meats and how to cook it and suggested some stuff we should try, he was a better server than the chick they had as our "sever"?
Service
The food is amazing, the drinks awesome and the service perfect. Perfect for couples, families or friends. Perfect dark ambiance for a full fondue experience.
Great atmosphere and service, the food is delectable. A one of a kind experience. Very accommodating to different diets.
First time there. Cheese was incredible and so was the chocolate. Our only issue was the main course, the veggies soup broth was incredibly peppery and the meat portations were not great for the price. Id highly recommend the Wisconsin cheese and the turtle chocolate though.
Always love coming here. The food is very good, and the variety of types of fondues makes for a fun evening. Expect to stay for a while if you're doing the four course menu. Service has always been very good when I've gone, and the prices seem reasonable for what you get, if a bit on the expensive side.
Used to be a lot better but now they serve multiple courses at the same time, have no where to put winter coats and many of the servers seem very green. Additionally, multiple reservations for large parties have been crammed into small tables even when we've specificity been told we'd get a larger one. The food is amazing though highly recommend for smaller groups (4 or less)
I decided to go to The Melting Pot for the first time ever for my first year anniversary dinner. I have heard a lot of great things about this place from friends and family so I was pretty excited to finally be going there myself. Firstly, I booked my reservation through OpenTable a few days prior and wrote a little note clarifying that I would be celebrating a special occasion, and to please seat us at an especially romantic table/booth. Luckily when we arrived to this beautiful restaurant we were brought to what I believe to be the nicest booth they had equipped with a wall for extra privacy. We did have to wait several extra minutes upon our arrival as they were a tiny bit behind schedule but it was understandable as many guests would remain eating for up to 2-3 hours. Our server was Safina and her service was so splendid. She communicated with us perfectly although she was also caring for many other tables. She made sure we knew what we were ordering in a very detailed manner and made us feel comfortable the entire time we were there. We ordered the 4-course meal which included cheese fondue appetizers, salads, cooking broth for the various meats, and chocolate fondue fruit desserts. We were eating for around 3 hours! The food was delicious and the presentation was pleasing to look at. I have read a few negative reviews about the portions served here but they are definitely mistaken. I've eaten at several Michelin Star restaurants and when you eat at any fine dining establishment, it is NOT about quantity; it is about QUALITY. The quality of all dishes at The Melting Pot were impressive and I'm confident that this is one of the best fine dining restaurants in Edmonton. This is saying a lot because we are not exactly known for our cuisine in this city, no offense. Finally at the very end of our meal, as it became time for us to receive our check Safina kindly told us to take our time and that there was no rush whatsoever for us to leave. We stayed there for about 15 minutes after we were done eating just to let everything settle down before noticing that they were well passed closing hours! As soon as we realized we quickly readied ourselves to leave. Overall, we made the right decision to come here as it was not only satisfying for our taste buds, but a brand new experience for the both of us, which is hard to find these days. Thank you for being so good to us :) P.S. even your drinks are day-making and mood-lifting.
Best place for dates, relaxing, non-rushed, several courses. Food is awesome, price is reasonable, recommended.
Perfect date night experience. My wife and I had never had a fondue meal before and we are happy we did. We each had the four course meal and were happy we did. Each course was fantastic, from the melted cheese, the salad, our selection of steak and of course dessert. Each was filled with new flavor and brought a very fun element to our date night. We found ourselves talking and laughing over cooking our own food and trying each piece together. The restaurant had very friendly staff, and the booths felt nice and separated from one another. The dark lighting lent itself to the atmosphere. To whomever anonymously spent that $20 gift card on us before they left, we thank you! 10/10 would go again.
The bill for two of us (with about five drinks and our meals and tip) was $223. I loved the cozy private booths and the food was delicious. It was unnecessary for half of the bathrooms to be closed during COVID since the stalls have solid walls and floor to ceiling doors. I was a bit let down by little things like my water glass being empty and no napkins on the table. But all and all, a great time was had and we left very full and happy.
Wife and I have gone to the melting pot any times and never had poor service or food. It’s great as a nice place for a nice meal you can enjoy, no rush and catch up with friends and family. Our server was great last night and explained everything especially we went with someone who has never gone. We always get the 4 course meal. Great suggestions. Can’t wait to go again.
I was getting really anxious at the beginning.. We ended up waiting 50 minutes for a table and be waited on. The hostesses were like 14 and I was not impressed to be able to see her bra on the back side of her dress. Not very professional when you work at such a place. Non the less I am not going to write a bad review because I understand now that this is a two hour dinner. And you can't rush people out the door. The food was absolutely incredible. Left with bellies full and all very happy with the service from put waiter and the atmosphere of the entire place. He was very kind.
My mom and I went and had phenomenal service! We sat at the bar (make sure you make a reservation!) and the bartenders Cam and Joey were so amazing and made the whole night such an incredible and enjoyable experience! I would highly recommend paying a visit and taking your time!
Had an amazing time for an 18 year old birthday. Service and food was spectacular.
Meal type
I regularly visit The Melting Pot and have always received amazing service and food. Two of us visited on June 25th. The waiter's name was Umesh and he mentioned it was his first week so I expected to be some potential hiccups. We ordered the 4 course meal for 2 people. I asked for the house salad with peppercorn ranch. It was brought with honey mustard dressing. I figured, no big deal (even though I don't like honey mustard dressing), the guy is new. I wont mention anything. Then for our entre, I swapped out the pork (allergy) for more shrimp. It was with extra flank steak instead and the waiter presented it as filet mignon.... again I didn't say anything. Then the chocolate fondue came, but the person just put it on the burner and left... I ended up having to mix it myself which wasn't a big deal but all these things kept adding up. Finally we asked for our bills... which came out to be $10 extra each... Umesh apologized and said he would fix them.. he ended up coming back 20 mins later! We spent a total of 4.5 hours here which I have never ever done before. Max was 2 hours. I understand this server was new however, for the amount of money I pay, I did not expect so many mistakes! Maybe they should have someone shadowing him for the first bit until he gets the hang of it. Very disappointed this time around and I always have a great experience and have high expectations from The Melting Pot.
Love the experience that melting pot offers its awesome. It’s a great date option and it’s a fun intimate atmosphere. Even with people all around the lighting and music was inviting and wonderful.
We decided to try out the melting pot for our anniversary in which lots of people talk highly of. The food was good but service was outrageously terrible. My boyfriend had called a week before to book a reservation in which he got the ultimate romance package which included a spot in lovers lane, the fondue fusions, 4 course meal, roses and candles at the table and memorable champagne flutes to take home. When we got to the restaurant and seated they had menus at the tables and were served water and told our server would be right with us. Thinking since my boyfriend had pre ordered everything, the menus were strange to have at the table and there were not even candles like they said there would be. Nor, champagne flutes. About half hour later a server finally came to our table and asked what we were getting in which she didn’t even know we had the romance package booked... and we then just ordered the 4 course that he pre ordered over phone. We got our salads and then about another half hour later got our cheese fondue. Once finished that we waited another hour for the main course (meat), when the server brought the meat and sauces but no one had brought the fondue pot to cook.. so we were hungry with raw meat in front of us for 15- 20 mins before the pot was brought to warm up. Once finished this, we asked for the chocolate fondue (last course) and we again waited and waited. And they come to tell us they ran out of chocolate .... so had to make more. You would think at a restaurant that serves a 4 course dining experience they would have this all pre planned ahead. ... but I guess not. Basically, the food was good but the service was terrible. And we just kept getting excuses like, oh that girl is new, or oh, my runner must be busy. We came for our anniversary and we were expecting to be treated well. We were not ! We didn’t even get our champagne flutes to drink out of and had to ask at the end for them. We spent 4 hours at the restaurant. also I am disappointed that we came for our anniversary dinner and most places will give you say a chocolate on a plate which says happy anniversary, but we got nothing like this. Very disappointed. I would have rather went to a low end restaurant where I’m sure we would have been treated better. We will not be back to the melting pot.
Always great food and time whenever I'm there
Service was good but food was mediocre. Overpriced in my opinion.
Good food but terrible service and attitude from waitress. If you wanna waste 5hrs of your night, this Is the place.
Worth every single dollar!!! First time diner, my boyfriend treated me to the melting pot for my birthday and omg.... it was worth the weight gain! Lol. We got four courses, started with the Wisconsin cheddar fondue and Cesar salad, then the mojo pot with the garden plate and finished off with the chocolate s’mores fondue with a side of cheesecake and doughnut... wow. Just WOW. WE WILL BE BACK. oh yes. We will be back. ???? I can’t stop thinking about that cheese fondue. Oh! And the staff were all really friendly and accommodating for my birthday! Awesome experience all around! Thanks so much Melting Pot!!!
Server was very polite and helpful, she even made a special little plate with Happy birthday for my daughter. Was very impressed
I understand you are paying for the experience here but I guess they made some changes last year and, in my opinion, not for the better. The food tasted of lower quality (compared to our last visit 2 years ago). In addition, we reserved in advance for an early seating but were seated in the lounge (which wouldn't be so bad but we were surrounded by groups with kids); not entirely their fault but we were disappointed not to be in the dining room. Service was friendly and quick though.
The staff was very pleasant. The food was tasty. They gave my friend delicious complimentary strawberries for her birthday. Unfortunately our visit was not all good points. The menu does not say It, but we were forced to all order the same thing, or eat separately. We chose an upgraded meal option, that they did not provide. When we questioned the lack of items, we were told the kitchen had not prepped any. Doesn't seem very professional. I doubt I would return. This would have had to be a much better experience to justify the price.
We have been going for years. Typically the full dining experience takes 3 plus hours which makes for a nice romantic evening. I had made reservations months in advance for New Year evening only to be told upon arrival that we could not stay more then two hours. Two hours is not enough for this type of dining experience and for the price they should not be rushing anyone out. It seams like they are forgetting what made this place great.
So good, the food is always delicious!
We went to the Melting Pot for an early Valentine's dinner and I was very pleased with the meal. The servers were excellent, friendly, and very timely. The cost for the special meal in relation to the amount of food served was excellent. There wasn't any additional fee for my gluten-free items and everything was absolutely delicious. This was my first time having a full meal here and I highly recommend it! The menu updates regularly and the selections are highly varied for all diet types.
A wonderful, delicious leisurely meal! My only complaint would be, if you're older and have a hard time reading in dim light, the menu is hard to see. But the wait staff and food were amazing.
The kids made a really neat Banjo as well as a hand shaped butterfly. A big shout out to Dustin for helping the kids out with these activities. This is a great place if you are not in a rush. They had ample seating, however I guess it's better to get a reservation since they could get full during evenings. We chose the 3 course option along with a drink. This was the cheese fondue followed by a salad and then the grande finale of a chocolate fondue.
It was absolutely amazing!!! Came here for a date night and was stunned by the experience, food, and service. David F is amazing as a waiter, loved him!
At least once a year we make a special trip to the Melting Pot. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is so cozy. They used to have option on the menu for a dinner for 2 that allowed for a wider selection of fondues which they seemed to have eliminated and replaced with a set dinner for 2, which is sort of sad. I would love to see that option on the menu again.
Had the lunch cheese & chocolate for 2. Was very good; top notch service. Certainly lived up to its reputation. (My first time). Arrived at 3pm; was a good time, to catch a lunch menu or, a full dinner menu.
It was my first time in The Melting Pot, and certainly my last, my friend invited me to her birthday dinner. The food was bad and didn’t have any flavor, the price were expensive comparing to other places were you get your order served fast and ready. Also the salad had tiny instincts which means they didn’t clean it very well but they remember to put sanitizers at the entrance to fight Covid 19!!!! I give them -5
Second bad experience in a row. If you order 2 bno, do you really get 2? 1 cheese , 1 chocolate, and charged double. Our waitress was completely rehearsed, no sincerity,. Special occasion, Most restaurants give you a piece of cake for your celebration. Not the melting pot... $15 for a couple balloons and a little jar of chocolate . Also waitress was in such a hurry she didn't use all the ingredient for our fondue. Bad experience x2
Dispite recent reviews - We had a wonderful time. Wait staff were prompt and our main waitress even described their working style as a team, and we could ask any one of them for more items or drinks. Food was fantastic, we still spent about three hours there but conversations and good was never left empty.
So good! Only reason I gave it 4 starts instead of 5 is that it is quite pricey. My fiance and I skipped the main course (just got cheese & chocolate fondues) and we have no regrets! Came to about $50 for the two of us, and was a decent amount of food.
I had booked a romantic Valentines reservation for my girlfriend and I approximately two weeks before Valentines day. Upon arriving, they only offered two options to pick from off the menu as it was an exclusive Valentines menu. After their staff informed us of this we asked to view the regular menu options which the manager refused to offer guests. We came to learn that there was only the Valentines menu offered for the day which was not communicated to me upon booking. The lowest possible price you could spend for a couple was 140.00 which did not include an alcohol beverage. We were quite disappointed that they were unable to accommodate guests who prioritized their romantic evening when it was not communicated that there was an exclusive menu and limit price options. This makes it difficult for young adults to enjoy their evening without being embarrassed of cost. Due to the manager not allowing any other options, we had to leave and find another restaurant. We were looking forward to trying this for our first time but were unable to do that. We were very disappointed with the lack of customer service.
Amazing dining experience! Fantastic food. Amy and the team made this a night to remember!
It has been several weeks since a horrible experience at Melting Pot (Edmonton). Management seems to have made it impossible for us to politely present our major concerns. Our bill was nearly $400 for five people which is reasonable for the food provided. The services offered at all levels in this restaurant was unacceptable... perhaps managemt’s top-down mediocrity has trickled-down to uninspired staff to provide acceptable service. I use to bring business guests, close friends and family to the Melting Pot for enjoyable dinners. The last two times were drought with mediocre service. Meat tasted “funny” during our last visit and two non-vegetarian members of our party became ill afterward. I unsuccessfully tried to obtain answers and resolution to the issues I professionally presented. Will not be going back.
First time here. My friend and I was very impressed with the rustic/modern theme. Lighting was comfy and dimmed. layout had several different dining area maze like. We were greeted with friendly staff. We sat sown at a booth area . a burner was built in a marble table. It was very cozy. The food was fabulous and staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food . Food portions were great. Make sure you do not eat before going here. Our server Mohammed was wonderful , professional and friendly. we will go here again. Thank you for the great food and service.
Went for dinner to celebrate an anniversary. The service was great. Joey was our server for the night and made us feel super relaxed and comfortable. Explained everything in detail and was extremely polite. I told him that we were celebrating an anniversary as he asked if we were celebrating anything special. We ordered the beer and fondue pairing however my significant other prefered wine. Joey was able to pair some different wines for us as well as the beers. Very accommodating. The food was great! When dessert came. It came with champagne and a few extra chocolates on a plate that said happy anniversary, compliments of the server who was happy to celebrate the occasion with us. It's the small things that made the evening feel even more special. So thank you very much to Joey and everyone else at the melting pot. We will be back again and highly recommend this restaurant!
Too pricey for the food. You are paying a LOT for atmosphere and novelty of cooking your own food. The quality of the food itself is good, but not $50 per person good.
Always good here. Service was great. Dessert was fabulous.
Went for my birthday last week! Had a wonderful female server - she carefully explained the menu to us and went over everything. She had such a bright and bubbly attitude! Great atmosphere! Staff were very understanding when we brought my 1 year old niece and continued to interact with her even when she got a bit fussy at the end!! Great experience! Would Recommend
Beautiful place, cosy environment, delicious fondue. A romantic set up for a date night. I loved chocolate fondue ???? Must visit if you haven’t already..
The place is amazing! There's areas for super romantic dining, family dining or big parties, a bar and regualr booths it's a big restaurant. The service could be better I just think it's so big that the waiters/waitresses cant get too everyone at the same time. I've been here multiple times because it's really fun! You get your own stove on the table and cook your own meals! And they also have desert too so you can dip various fruites or pastries into melted chocolate. If you want too try something new you gotta check this place out its great for everyone!
Amazing meal experience. Be sure to make a reservation a few weeks in advance. Tonnes of gluten free dipping options. Be sure everyone at the table eats gf
My first experience of having fondue comes from Switzerland so you know if I am saying their Alpine classic cheese fondue is as good I am not lying. I don't understand their whole meal option that has meat and chocolate fondue as well as cheese fondue because I think that is too much but their cheese was great with complimentary things to dip in. Also, a great atmosphere for date nights, if you reserve you will probably have a very private booth which was very romantic. Our server Dave was very very entertaining and explained everything well. Will go back!!
I loved having a room to ourselves! The wait staff (Aaron) was tops and very accommodating. The food experience (my 1st time) was great!
The service was excellent, our server was polite, attentive.
Love it. Awesome spot for a romantic date or a cool experience for the family.
Now you wanna talk quality... Start with The Melting Pot... Superb customer service, superb dining atmosphere where the ambient sound is just low enough to not be bothersome, lighting was fantastic and the meal.... The meal is amazing. I am certain that the item I ate was such top quality that I can almost guarantee anything else on the menu is just as amazing. You will not be disappointed at all. You will be satisfied, satiated and be happy with the bill after you've ate. So much so that tipping won't even be an issue. If you want a top quality fondue meal this is the only place to do it. Congratulations Melting Pot you get full marks for serving me an amazing experience.
The first half of our meal was quiet and lovely, the other half was not. Half way through our dinner, a manager and two employees sat two tables away from us and were being extremely loud and obnoxious, we couldn’t even talk amongst ourselves because all we could focus on was the inappropriate, unprofessional chatter. The manager was talking about how she’s seen one of her employees without a shirt on and how “he’s so sexy,” how she’s gonna smoke so many joints in her car after work, and how she’s the best drunk driver ever. As well as going into detail about her personal life. Very unprofessional, and ruined what was supposed to be a romantic dinner. However, our waitress Candice was very lovely, and the food was good too. Was really looking forward to coming back, but after that incident, we will not be coming back again.
It has a very positive vibe and food is delicious. Must visit. I had a great experience.
Nice place ! It was full, but you didn’t see the others. You have a own spot for your family, friends or date.
Had a great dinner there with my wife and a couple friends. Server was really good and he did an awesome job explain the menu and making suggestions. The selection of top shelf alcohol was pretty limited but the bar tending was on point. The lab behind the bar made a really good old fashioned. The biggest down side was our drinks went empty often and our server was busy with other guests. I spoke with the bar tender about liquors to start having on hand and he seemed to be genuinely interested. Over all I highly recommend dinning here.
We had heard a lot about the Melting pot from many friends about how tasty it was. It did not disappoint! We went as a large group to the private room for a surprise birthday party. Be aware that they won't let you into the room until your exact reservation time, so we almost ruined the surprise by having everyone sitting in the main entrance. But it was all good we made it in just in time. The food was so good. I really like the cheese fondues as a starter, I actually would have been happy just eating that. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable for those of us who were first timers. It's a great night out, make sure you wear stretchy pants!
Friendly service, fun experience, great atmosphere, and wonderful food. Be prepared to spend triple digits, but I’d say it worth it!
Love the place, perfect for love birds and special occasions. Friendly stuff and super cozy place
Great place to be sociable with a group. Not really a huge wow factor... definitely fun though
Dine in
Come here very often and it’s always delicious
We go to the Melting Pot once a year for our anniversary. We've had a wonderful experience each time went. The food is delicious and the service is superb. Unfortunately this year there was a miscommunication and our reservation was not entered into their system. The restaurant was fully booked and there was not room for us. The hosts suggested we sit at the bar. Although it would not be the same intimate experience as a private booth we agreed. We were seated at the bar when a booth opened up. We asked if we could occupy the booth and the bar staff prepped it for us. It took a while to clear the booth but the bartender bought us a drink as it was taking so long to get the booth ready. All in all, we had a lovely experience. The food was once again superb and the staff were attentive. They turned what started out as a disappointing experience to one I will never forget. The staff and manager came together and waived much of our bill, gave us complimentary chocolate covered strawerries and a rose to take home. They also gave us a voucher for complimentary dessert for the next time we came. The Melting Pot ttheirruly went above and beyond for us on our special day. It speaks volumes when an establishment goes out of way to turn a bad experience into a great one.
What an awesome experience I had here for my first time coming. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. Great place to go for birthdays and nice gatherings
So...... The thing with this post is we didnt eat there, we got the cheese and fruit fondu to take away. The fruit was good but the cheese part of this take away was not enough. It seems to me from the wait to get the items, is that it was a cluster f and they forgot to get it done. Half of a good job.... Atta boy for not doing your job all the way. We got a package with friday written on it and its saturday ( this was on the fruit) i want fresh fruit when i pay the price we paid. I hope that the managers reading this will figure this out and make this process better.
Love this place, our second visit and it was as good as the first, food, service was excellent.
Food was great and enjoyed the experience but waited way too long between courses, even had to chase someone down to get forks and such. Quite expensive premium for NYE compared to the portion sizes.
Overall a great and unique experience! I would definitely recommend getting reservations. It's on the pricier end and would budget $50/adult for the meal itself.
Excellent dining experience. Its a very unique concept and its always a fun night out. The service is friendly and the restaurant is beautiful. Expect to be here for a while. Its pricey, but well worth it.
First time eating at the Melting Pot. A little overwhelmed at first but was amazing. Our server made it so much easier for us to understand the menu. Great for a group setting. Was expecting to spend a lot and leave hungry. Definitely not the case, did not leave hungry. Everything was amazing. Thank you! Will definitely be back.
We always enjoy our experience and look forward to the next visit. 5+ stars
Great dining experience! There’s a very intimate section for couples and small groups that’s away from the rest of the open restaurant.
First time dining here and it won’t be the last! I love the concept and the different options available. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing and everything from the starters to dessert were incredibly delicious. The service was on point as well! Already looking forward to coming back.
The best part of the meal is the cheese and chocolate. Fun experience if you are willing to relax for 2-3 hours.
Delicious food, friendly staff, but incredibly expensive for what you get. We've ordered the home take-out option 5 or 6 times now and every time, portions get smaller and some items are omitted. Their profit margins must be incredibly razor thin, because the value is simply not there. Save yourself the cash and make it yourself at home.
Always a great experience little bit of a wait when the restaurant wasn't busy only issue with this place is the pricing a bit steep for us to cook our own food
My husband and I went here for our anniversary and it was absolutely delicious food. Our waiter was very helpful and friendly. . It is expensive but it's a great experience, and quality time with whomever your with! We spent about 2 hours there, enjoying every minute.
Great meal. Relaxed pass to the meal. Great special family event place. Excellent service. Expensive but tonnes to eat.
We were here for dinner last night. I had been one time previously as well. i enjoyed the meal & even know it doesn't seem like your getting much it really fills you up when it's all said & done. We had the 4 course option , which gets you the cheese, broth & chocolate fondues & a variety of items to be dipped. However , it is not a cheap place to experience & be careful of the add-ons like "special broths". I also felt the cocktails were overpriced at $12.00 each. Total bill with 1 soda, 2 cocktails , 3 - 4 course selections came to just under $250.00
Such a lovely place. Great service
Twice a year for a month they have endless fondue! First time going and it was an awesome experience. Ordered the endless fondue and it comes with bread, caedar salad or soup and vegetables to dip in cheese, different meats for oil dipping and then the best part- fruits, Blondie's, brownies and little rice crispy treats dipped on chocolate! The atmosphere is relaxing and the restaurant was packed full of people. Had to make a reservation though. The service was good, and friendly!
We have had challenges with the service three times in a row at Melting Pot. Have attempted to reach out to management in different ways (in person, via email, etc.) and no response. When you are spending top dollar, there is an expectation that service be professional, efficient, and responsive. There are many other restaurants in the city with exceptional food AND exceptional service.
Great experience. Awesome wait staff. Loads of fun, and extra delicious. The only reason I'm giving a 4 stars instead of 5 is that the price is a bit excessive. And I didn't get the chocolate covered berries with the $55 extra I ordered with the table.
Spent 3 hours catching up with a friend. The food and the waitress Michelle were amazing. So happy they brought back the wedge salad too. Love the promotion they have going on to support the Stollery as well.
Giving this place 5 stars for the food and the experience. We had the share for two deal thing where you get a cheese, a couple entrees and the chocolate. All of the fondues were excellent. Amazing taste, portions were excellent and it was a ton of fun. The service was honestly just OK, server didn't know the wines, or seem to be very experienced. It might have been her first time or something who knows. Overall it didn't detract from the experience too much and it was fun. It is a little pricy but I'd imagine that's a reflection of it being a pretty lablur intensive process and because of the time each patron spends there. Still worth it once in awhile.
Nothing beats the Melting Pot. It's a fantastic date spot. My husband and I are very fast eaters so we love that the experience still takes about two hours and we enjoy more time together and talk. Where as we can spend the same amount at a place like Pampa and be done and down $120 in 30 mins. We have gone for birthdays, anniversaries and out with a larger grp of family for special occasions with our small children and it's wonderful every time. We have made it there about 1-2 times a year for the past 8 years. It is pricey but far and away worth it compared to other fancy dining establishments. My favorite restaurant and first recommendation when someone wants a special night.
Never disappointed when we go to the melting pot. The staff is great, food is great. Be prepared to stay about 2 hrs for a full course but it's so worth it!
Such a treat to come here. If you sign up for email notifications, they often have promotions which are very reasonable! I went with my mom recently for one, and it was $25 per person and included a cocktail or glass of wine, cheese fondue, salad, and chocolate fondue. All of my favourite things! They are very accommodating of my gluten free diet (celiac). They brought gluten free bread for the cheese fondue, and a whole assortment for the chocolate (GF donut, cheesecake, brownie, etc.). And at no additional charge, too. Can't recommend this place enough! Would be a really fun group or work outing.
Booked a reservation for my girlfriend and myself for 8:30. We arrived a little early so we would be on time but had to wait until 9 to be seated. After we waited about another half hour for a server to come. I gave two stars due to the salad, cheese and chocolate being awesome but service definitely ruined our experience. We had a great first experience but it's definitely gone downhill. Will not be recommending to friends and family anymore.
Awesome experience. Totally relaxing and fun atmosphere. First time here. Our waiter was great. We'll be returning and totally recommend this location.
Was a different experience but would definitely go again, well worth it
I was there yesterday evening and they “ran out of straws”. Speaking of consistency, we were helped by 5 different folks including Mohammed. Two of our fondues came pre-made which were cold AF, so one of the 5 servers cranked up the heat to max to justify the cold cheese served. And not one of them checked on us if we needed anything, because I guess no one knew who was the main server or we were probably just seated in their “cattle class area”. Super mediocre, don’t waste your time. If the management is reading this review I tipped $1.60 for all 5 servers, 30 cents each. Thanks for ruining my valentines dinner!
Had a great experience for a work function. Treated us awesome, food was great, and the 16 of us had a lot of fun. Recommended
I love the melting pot. It's is definitely a full experience meal. Great for special occasions. Intimate and the food is fresh and delicious.
Dine in
I did enjoy every moment in this place. This is one of the amazing experience i have ever had ❤️
Have been here two times now and the second time was amazing. Order the four course meal this time and was stuffed. Our server David was amazing. I have never had a more amazing server in my life. Highly recommended David if you can get him.
Melting Pot is like Katty Perry's "Hot N Cold"... Sometimes you will get the best service you could imagine. Other nights you get service that comparable to self service at Walmart. Food - good, very good. But you can buy it cheaper and do the EXACT same amount of work at home...with better service. Atmosphere - Dark, so dark. I will agree it's nice on a romantic night, but not all the time. Service - In the past 3 years, Melting Pot staff has declined to same quality service as a self check out. Occasionally you will get an outstanding server, but I would personally say for the price, and the amount of do it yourself involvement...your service should be outstanding on every occasion. I really didn't want to leave 1 star, but I tried a few different times speaking to the management. They don't seem to feel they have a problem... My opinion for what it's worth, not worth the money based on my last 3 outtings.
We had a super unfortunate first experience here. We had a reservation for 1610 and we just left(1845). Over the phone I was told it would be an hour and a half dining "experience".... Make that almost 3. When we arrived the manager took our name to seat us and then proceeded to take a phone call and make us stand in the foyer. Another server came and seated us. We waited 10 minutes before getting water and another 5 before our server came. We did not recieve a drink menu. Once food menus were dropped it was another 15 minutes before the menu was explained and our orders were taken. While the server was nice, he seemed to spend more time on the surrounding tables than ours. We would go huge chunks of time without seeing him and the time between courses was ridiculous. I had an appointment to make at 630 that I have now missed. Not only that, the manager came by to the 3 tables in our area as well as ours. To every single table she offered her name and asked for feedback. However when she made it to ours she skipped all of that, filled our waters and moved on. I don't think we will ever be back based on the poor service. Considering the menu prices, the hospitality side of things should really be stepped up.
Nice for a treat in on a key anniversary or birthday. Worth saving a few $ to spend on full course meal. It's good.
Dimly lit for ambience. The cheese varieties are delicious. The dessert chocolates are phenomenal. If you go here for nothing else do dessert decadent and delicious!
Another outstanding evening at the Melting pot. Invited 4 of our friends that have never been and had a wonderful time. The service was perfect.. The fondue was perfect.. All around could not have asked for a better night out .
Great food experience. Fondue pot right to the table. A great couple or family experience. Service was excellent.
Great place to eat with wonderful staff. Plan for a 2 hour meal if choosing the 4 course or big night out.
We were disappointed a few years ago by a rather dodgey promotion, donate $25 to pick a balloon and get a gift certificate. We obliged, gift certificate ended up being a coupon that expired very shortly after, and since it was close to closing time they were out of balloons. Severely jaded we didn't go back for nearly three years. Last weekend, we decided to give it another shot for our 13th anniversary. Things started off delicious, but after things started getting busy we did a lot of waiting for our server. Dishes weren't cleared, portions were light and we had to constantly ask for more "complimentary" portions. Finally server came around with chocolate course even though the dishes from our main hadn't been cleared. Then in a hurry to cycle the table, our server then returned with a debit machine before we had even finished our dessert. It felt like we were either waiting for our server to ask for something, or he was trying to rush us to our next course or out the door. To top it all off, the complimentary chocolate covered strawberries they sent us home with, were rotten. All in all probably the most disappointing $200 dinner I've ever had. We will NOT be returning.
Love the experience! Super friendly staff and amazing food
I love this place, it’s my favourite spot for special occasions
Terrible service there tonight. Kristina was terrible. She mentioned more than once that they switched systems. That is totally uncalled for, she was not warm and inviting and didnt even ask us what we wanted to drink. She was also terribly rude to the drink runner multiple times right in front of us. I had to ask her for drinks. Me and my wife have been there multiple times and have never received such terrible service. We wont be coming back. I would never recommend it again.
We attended a staff party here, it was our first time there. This kind of dining was not to our tastes. We had chose vegetable broth as our cooking method, we found it took too long for some things to cook. We had 4 people adding things to the pot, so there were several forks in the pot at one time. The potatoes that were added did not cook through until the very end of the dining experience, perhaps they should be par cooked. I found the dipping sauces lacked flavor.
Celebrating a friend's birthday. Had the 2 course option for 5 of us. The fondues were exquisite and our server was fantastic and attentive. Great assortment of items to dip. Overall made for a fun afternoon.
The service on Saturday jan 25th was absolutely terrible. We had made reservations for 7-8 people but yet we were given a booth that fits only 6. I asked for an extra chair and was told it is against fire code, so instead of moving us to a bigger table i was forced to squeeze myself into the booth. My friends and I were completely uncomfortable, i was falling out of the booth and could not cook my own food because i could not reach. I coudln't even enjoy the experience . And on top our waiter could not care less. For the amount I paid I expected the highest standards of service. Yea not going there again.
The food is fantastic, the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. Perfect place for a romantic outing with that special someone or a great place to bring a group of friends for fun night out. Have been multiple times and will be going multiple more for sure!
One of the most unique restaurants in the city. Food and services is top notch.
You need to set aside a lot of time to do this. Pretty pricey but okay for a special event or treat. Would be nice if they had another location as well. It is a fun outing regardless. My daughter’s favourite restaurant!
Well, I used to love the Melting Pot. The food, the atmosphere, the experience were what made it great. However, after dining there recently, I'm not sold on going back. If you don't want to read the rest of this review, here's the summarized version; great food, sub-par service. It started with the host, taking us to a table that had people already sitting there. They compromised and took us to another table; no red flags. Things like this happen, no fault to her. Our server came out and asked for our drinks and was welcoming, and informative. The drinks came out, but were quite watery and didn't really appeal to either of us. Salads were delicious, and well portioned. Then things started to go awry. The entree came out, with the food looking amazing... and it was! Wonderfully seasoned, well presented, and it was delicious. However, we requested another blank plate twice (as some of the uncooked chicken had accidentally made its way onto it), and it never came. Same with the water; we had to flag someone down 3 times before we had a refill, and she wasn't happy to do so. Dessert was next; Flaming Turtle is to die for. However, after asking once again if we needed anything, the server forgot (after two requests) another adder of some of the fruit / dessert items. After a half hour of waiting, he came back with the bill, seemingly forgetting everything requested. The food here is delicious, hearty and as advertised, but the service was poor. We had a great night, but could have had a better evening if the service was on par with the food. Not sure we'd go back again, especially for the price point.
Food was great like usual. Service was a little lackluster compared to usual. Not sure if it was because I had a larger group compared to usually just coming with my fiance
Amazing service as always - food was excellent and plentiful! Love that they let you change out one option per dish (love that teriyaki sirloin).
This was an experience but one I am not hoping to repeat. It wasn't bad really it just wasn't good. Though when you factor in cost it's pretty awful. Firstly the bread seemed like it was a week old for the cheese fondue appetizer, the veg was fine and the two cheese varieties were quite good. One was a plain orange (cheddar?) pot and the other was artichoke and garlic with a white cheese base, I would say mozzarella but I am totally not sure. They were both good but the bread was a real let down. The main course was arranged very nicely, we had 5 varieties of meat (shrimp, beef, beef, pork and chicken) and added lobster. The meat itself was fine but the broth you are cooking the meat in was not good. It was oddly spicy(more peppery than Chile heat) and I couldn't quite place the flavour. It kind of muddled everything you wanted to taste so the meats themselves were quite bland. The portions were very fair but it was pretty bland overall and not worth the cost. If I was paying for the meal I would have been upset but it was a work party so who cares. The wait staff was excellent
Dinner
Very good restaurant. Great food, quality service. Great place overall. I encourage you to check it out.
Always super good here. Only reasons for not getting 5 stars is I find service usually takes longer than most places and I find it too dark in the restaurant so all I really want to do is sleep at the table haha! The goddess sauce is amazing FYI!
Loved it, took my girlfriend there for her birthday, ask for Nick, great customer service
Food was great, service not so much. felt like we were an inconvenience to them being there. Won't be going back any time soon.
Great place to celebrate a special event. Lots of tasty options. Food was fresh and delicious. Drinks were delicious. Server was attentive, efficient and friendly. Prices are fairly high but there is lots of food and of high quality and prices are comparable to other high end dining establishments. We had a celiac dining with us and they were very careful regarding maintaining gluten free status with everything she was seved and what the rest of the table was served. This is a great choice for fine and social dining with friends and family.
Service was good but the dinning room was really dark I'm glad we had a lamp above our heads or it would've been very hard to see, I feel bad for the tables that didn't have a light. Drinks fantastic and the while experience was fun. Then we got the bill that wasn't fun lol ???? definitely shoulda got the date night for two.
Had an amazing experience! Carter our waiter was extremely friendly. Would highly reccomend giving this resturant a try
Service is always delightful. (Mohammed was very nice) The Fondue Fusion was delicious. Especially loved the spinach and artichoke dip. Fantastic laid back while still "fancy" atmosphere. Will continue to come back again and again
Most amazing date night spot, extremely romantic with lots of “add-ons” to make an extra special date night.
Hi this would my 15th visit to melting pot. Every time I visited melting pot I’m really satisfied. Today I would like to thank Dustin for his great hospitality and excellent service.
We had an amazing dinner!! Our waiters were super awesome and made our experience great!
I heard this place was so amazing so we had to try it! Me and my husband went for my birthday and it was honestly a huge disappointment. The cheese fondue was good but the only good thing to dip in it was the bread. I don’t know about you, but I didn’t enjoy dipping raw broccoli and raw baby carrots cut in half into melted cheese. Nothing exciting about that. Then, the next course was the raw meat and you choose how to cook it. I wanted the cast iron grilling option but the waitress said it wasn’t really a good option because you can’t do the dumpling pasta on it and the zucchini but they didn’t have the zucchini available anyway. We tried a broth cooking option and started trying to cook out meat in the broth. Raw meet cooked in boiling broth doesn’t have much flavour so i was really not impressed. Boiled meat is not very good. So I apologized but asked to switch to the pan broiling option and it was ok but still not very flavourful. Then for the dessert, we got some fruit and cake pieces and that was good so honestly the only good part was the chocolate course. It was just overall a meal lacking flavour and WAY TOO expensive for boiling meat and vegetables yourself. There was raw potatoes and veggies to boil too which turned out watery or still crunchy. Just didn’t taste good. Sorry but we were really disappointed!
We went in November, they made the experience feel safe during covid.
Very good place. It's an experience not a just a meal. It will take 2-3 hours if you go for the four courses experience.
The food here was delicious and the staff were friendly and efficient but never hovering over us. We ordered the Classic and were not disappointed. Whenever we looked like we were running low, additional fruit, vegetables and even desert was brought out!
My partner booked a table in the morning in this place. We came and had to wait 20 mins to be seated. Our service took forever. Server came without plates saying she’d bring them and never did. I had to wait for an hour to just put something in my mouth. We didn’t go for 4-course meal as it probably would take them ages. So I understand that places like that get busy but you just can’t treat your clients like that. It is really a disappointment. Be prepared to pay a lot.
Was better before. They have removed cheesecake and stopped melting cheese at the table. This was part if the experience. While our waitress was good. People seemed confused. Our cheese and salad showed up at the same time. Cheesecake is replaced by rice crispies squares. I used to really enjoy this place and its dropped a few notches in my book.
Excellent service and delicious food! We were seated very fast in a nice private area of the restaurant.
Melting pot, never once got back to us when open table decided to overbook on Valentines day, they had to cancel our reservation. Told us they would send a $50 gift card to people who had their reservation canceled. Never once recieved it. Disappointed with the service and how management handled the situation. What was supposed to be a nice evening turned out to be a skip the dishes night, but if you ever have to book for a special occasion they may cancel your reservation. Not impressed.
We have had amazing service in the past but today we did not have that luck! We waited 35 minutes before we got our first food, It seems like we waited and waited for someone to walk by to get the things we needed. We asked for extra bread for the cheese (it took forever for it to come) Dads first coffee was cold, we had long intervals in between the servers clearing the dishes and bringing the next course. We had to ask the server to wipe the table, I would think they would tidy it up a bit after the main course. Overall we were rather disappointed as we were rather excited to introduce this to our parents. The food was great.
We thought the place was awesome. Waitress new what she was doing, the whole experience was relaxing and romantic. Nice quiet and private booths made it a perfect setting for a night out. Allow 3 hours so you can enjoy the ambiance. Two Thumbs up!
Extremely fantastic service. It's expensive, but our server was so good it felt like we not only recieved great and seemingly bottomless food but dinner entertainment aswell.
Food was absolutely amazing loved it booths were cool everything!! Service we had wasn't the best and when we paid he asked how much tip I was gonna leave told him and never showed up with the change the way we got served don't think he had the right to just take my money never give the change back that he was supposed to!!!!! ????
Worst ever. I don't often give a one star review, but this time I'd give zero stars if it were an option. Their service continues to decline and price continues to rise. I have been here twice in 10 years and they just do the bare minimum to keep people coming in. After paying about $80 per person (not including drinks), I could have gone to 50 other restaurants here in the city, paid half of the price, and had a mind blowing, rave worthy meal. The loaded potato soup had precooked fake bacon on it, tasted like it came from a box, and they no longer make the cheese fondue in front of you, which leads me to believe it comes from a box. The bread was dry and tasted stale. And our build-you-own dark chocolate fondue with Grand Marnier tasted just like cheap dark chocolate, no Grand Marnier. They claim that extras are included now, but the other prices have been raised so much to compensate the final bill was higher than when they charged extra. I'll never be back. Such a disappointment. I don't often feel ripped off, but after this visit I think need a shower. Don't go unless you like substandard everything at a higher than premium price.
Our server Muhammad was excellent! He was very friendly and gave a great run-through as to what to expect for dinner. The food, as always, was excellent and they even got us a little cup for the bit of left over chocolate fondue. A lovely date night spot
Claimed they were full with at least an hour wait, when plenty of spots were available online which I saw 5 minutes later on the drive home. Given the excuse of someone canceled a reso for 15 minutes away. Requested a manager and they claimed lag within open tables system except there were resos available in 15 minute increments for the remainder of the night. I just feel lied to.
Blatant false advertising and misrepresentation. I’ve been here a few times before and have always had a good experience. However, I came here for a Father’s Day brunch and ordered the “steak and eggs” fondue. Well, the “egg” was a poached egg (that was somehow diced) and the “steak” was actually bacon bits (pork), both mixed into the fondue. This was not explained to our party by the server prior to ordering and we did not realize there would be no protein until the server asked if we were ready for dessert. After explaining our disappointment to the manager they knocked 10% off our bill and gave us a couple of vouchers, but imo, $30 for some bread, fruit and veggies with dessert is not good value and we won’t be returning.
I loved it! Went for my anniversary, food and service was amazing!
Great service and delicious food. Definitely be coming back again
The definition of excellence. Add this dining experience to your bucket list. Perfect for a romantic date of casual celebration. I’ve never had a bad experience.
The servers were very helpful with the menu and explaining the experience. Food was well paced and took around 2 hours to complete the 4 courses.
Loved the fondue experience. The staff and the ambience were amazing.Defnitely going back!!
Great food and ambience. The chocolate fondue was exceptional!
First time having fondue, hooked!!!!
Our waitress was great! The wine was over priced, the cheese fondue was disgusting! We got a cheese course and 2 entree’s, 2 glasses of wine and paid $180. For gross cheese and boiled meat! NEVER going back! This is why I don’t like stepping outside the box and trying something new!!!!
Food was fabulous... service was good ... courses could have come a little closer together ... but enjoyed it very much ...
Great food, great service! The lighting was just a bit dimmer than I would of liked.
I’m giving 2 stars mostly because of the service we received. The food wasn’t anything to rave about and I found the prices to be a bit much for what you get. The issue my partner and I had was the fact that our server tried to scam us an extra $50. We were there for “Thursdate” which was $55/per person for a four course meal. When we received the bill our server already had the machine out wanting us to pay. My partner paid without looking at the bill and once our server left I went over it and noticed an extra $50 was charged. When I asked him about it he tried to feed me some BS excuse to which I called him out on. He then offered to give us $50 cash for the difference because “refunding it would be an extremely long process”. I told him we wanted a refund because we tipped on the $50 that shouldn’t have been there. He seemed annoyed and angry with us about it but eventually we got the refund. I’ve been in the industry for a while and know servers like him. What he was going to do is void off the extra $50 he added to the bill before he cashed it out. Giving him that extra $50 on top of the tip we gave. Super slimy. We will never be back and I highly recommend you all check your bill for hidden charges.
What a delicious and unique way to have supper with a group of friends. Staff was informative, fun & friendly. Spoiler alert, you will be paying a hefty bill for the experience
For what looked like small portions we all walked out completely stuffed. Get staff and excellent flavors.
4 girlfriends and I had a fantastic "Ladies Night Out" event at the Melting pot last night. Two of my friends had never been, and both were extremely impressed by the presentation and quality of the food. At the beginning of the meal our cheese fondue double-boiler "exploded", spraying my exposed collarbone and slightly scalding me.. an unfortunate experience that could have ruined my entire meal, but the manager was quick to make it to rectify the situation - with Solarcaine and drinks on the house for all! I was very impressed that the situation was taken seriously and compensated for generously (we all had several cocktails, and the burn was not that bad - still a little tender this morning, but definitely nothing permanent).
Fun and unique dining experience. Fine dining price though, at dinner for two $140 pre-tip. Very tasty food, friendly and prompt staff. Takes quite a while for the 4 course dining experience.
We have been twice for our anniversary and the service was very good. The food quality is decent, but we have gone mostly for the romantic atmosphere in the private seating areas. Both times they ran out of the dessert fondue we wanted to try.
The food and service is always amazing and consistent.
so awesome. every time we go it is amazing. never had a bad visit yet.
An excellent time as usual. There have been a couple of changes such as they don't prepare the cheese fondue at the table any longer as well as not preparing some of the cooking styles either. It felt a little rushed at first as we weren't even halfway through our cheese fondue when our salads were brought out. This wasn't the case after finishing the salad course or the main course though. It's a great place to be able to meet with friends and have a nice conversation over dinner. The fiesta cheese fondue is still available, even though it's not on the menu. Roasting marshmallows while they prepare the flaming turtle chocolate fondue is a bit of fun. Overall still a great experience.
The food was delicious and it was a perfect place for my fiance and I to get away from our kiddos for a few hours ????
Came here ~2 years ago for a special occasion. Really liked the atmosphere. In terms of the meat/cheese fondue...it was decent (perhaps the Asian in me makes me prefer thinner slices of meat like in hotpot). The highlight for me was the chocolate fondue at the end (Yin and Yang)
This place is well worth the money you spend. The staff are beyond amazing. The food is amazing and make sure everything is good for your experience.
We have been here before food is good service is average. We had a wedding anniversary dinner last night and a bottle of wine was sent from friends in the USA, but never arrived at the table. When we arrived back home after friends called to ask how the wine they sent was, we were just as surprised. We called the restaurant to see what happened and the hostess Brook didn't even seem to care that the wine she had charged the credit card for was never delivered or credited to our $220.00 bill. The manager of the was just as aloof when asked what happened, he offered us a family discount next visit, that kind of sucks, I think we will call back today and get the $60 bottle of wine credited to our credit card and not go back.
Always an amazing experience here. The food is awesome and the service is unbelievable every time we go. Took some family here from out of town tonight and our server John was super attentive and hilarious, making sure we had the best dinner experience he could provide. Would definitely come back and ask for him as our server.
Awesome food and great experience! The one downfall was it was so dark... like dark enough that you couldn't tell what you were eating or how cooked your food was. When commented to our server we found d a pot light above out table was broken and there was no fix at the time. Appreciated the service but proper lighting would have brought the rating to 5 stars.
Perfect for a big night out or special celebration. Worth the price. Plan for at least two hours.
We went out for dinner for our anniversary the other night. Tatyanna was our waitress and she was so helpful, knowledgable and attentive. We ordered the Big Night for 2 package and it was absolutely exceptional. We have a great time and will come back in the future. Thank you Melting Pot for making our anniversary dinner wonderful
I love going to The Melting Pot! The food is always so delicious and I leave there completely stuffed every time! I'm celiac and they are really really good with gluten free options and making sure there is no cross contamination! They have great gluten free bread and mini donuts for dipping! My go to is the loaded baked potato cheese and the s'mores chocolate (without the graham crackers)! I highly recommend!
Recently went for my birthday dinner. The service and food were delicious and we left quite content. My only complaint was I had mentioned a complimentary order of chocolate dipped strawberries for my birthday on the reservation. Yet when we arrived the server said there were no strawberries available that day. I just wish I had gotten the chocolate dipped strawberries.
Excellent! Great selection, very nice sauces, friendly polite staff. More filling than it looks. Give the potatoes longer to cook in the fondue than they tell you- they're still pretty sturdy after 4min.
Had an 8:30 reservation for dinner with 5 lovely ladies, did not get a table until 9:30, Service was slow and one of the ladies had to leave before dessert. As usual the food was delicious but unfortunately the overall experience was not good at all.
This was my first and last time here. A reservation for 7 was made to celebrate a friends birthday. Our soups and salads were the first to arrive, two of which were wrong. Unfortunately it took our server until everyone was finished to check in and correct the issue. Our server forgot to take our broth order and when they finally did come the two broths were missing the red wine. Again it took our server over 30 minutes to check in. On top of incorrect dishes we were constantly out of water and in general forgotten about, multiple times we had to go looking for wait staff. When it came time to pay every excuse in the book was used and no manager made themselves present. We were given 15% off and a free chocolate fondue.... We were there over 4 hours and feel like the service I recieved doesn't reflect what was expected or what I paid for. Boo :(
Wonderful service but food takes a long time to come out.
We booked 20 ladies in for a bachelorette dinner. Staff made everything run so smooth, food was delicious, service was fantastic... Ty rocked it! Would recommend
Food was okay but really expensive. And they gave us free chocolate covered strawberries but 4 of 6 were moldy already.
The food was good. Food and drinks were a bit overpriced for what we got. I came in with a group of twelve. We had made a reservation but had to wait for our table to be prepared, so we started at the bar before getting to the table. Once we got to the table, service was extremely slow. A few of us have worked quite a few years in the food service industry, so it sucked to spend so muh money on dinner when we could see our drinks sitting at the bar and our food didn't make it to our table in close to a timely manner. Quality checks were on time, drink refills were not offered and difficult to get as our server was rarely at our table. The restaurant was empty and we had multiple people (not the server) running our food and drinks to us and had to start asking people that weren't our server for beverages. The food all tasted excellent, so it was a food experience but I think I'll stick to fondue nights at home or other restaurants
Food was good quality and tasty, service was good, but I'm just not convinced that the value is worth it. Nothing wrong with it, but I find it a bit overpriced.
I went here years ago with my husband to celebrate our anniversary. Has a romantic atmosphere. I enjoyed their cheese & smores fondue. Except their mains, it’s like your boiling your meat & seafood, it’s just bland but luckily they serve a selection of sauces that you can use. Overall not bad at all & would definitely go back probably just for cheese & dessert fondue.
When my boyfriend & I went they were very friendly & the food was amazing. Things are pricey for sure, but it has great food & a lovely environment with very friendly staff.
If you're looking for a different night out, this is it. Staff was very helpful, so if you've never done fondue don't worry. It's a pricey meal, but well worth it for the quality and experience! Great idea for a date night.
We just had our staff Christmas party at The Melting Pot and it was amazing. The food is always great but the staff went above and beyond. Thank you very much!
What really makes the melting pot wonderful is the atmosphere it creates in allowing friends to have great conversations.
food was great altough slow. maybe because of the pandemic I don't know - but the food was delicious
5 stars isn't enough. Ordered Fondu to Go tonight and it was fantastic!!
We are surprise by the ambiance! The concept of the restaurant give you a perfect time with your lover or your family. We take the ''Big Night Out Dinner for 2" and it's a HUGE big meal! We roll out after the chocolate fondue. The Cabernet …
Food was amazing and the service was excellent
This place is amazing. What a cool experience. It's such a nice way to connect with other people over a meal, we were here for three hours chatting and eating, makes for a pretty special night on the days you want to draw things out a little more instead of eating and being done in half an hour. And the food itself is so tasty! Staff is very friendly too!
We loved it my son really enjoyed himself they had a great Kids Day program definitely I recommend from us.
Went for our anniversary and it didn't disappoint. Did all three courses and each one was delicious. Lots of choices. Very professional waiting staff and really tasty drinks. A bit on the pricey side, but it was worth it.
Excellent fondue, serve at your table, great choices, great service and dining.
Fantastic food and service! My husband and I went for my birthday dinner. They have excellent covid protocols.
Went for a family function. Had a private room. Tasty food. There was cilantro all over one of the meats and that was not specified. It was a downer for some of our party as it flavored the broth we had. Other than that good times.
Beat place I've ever eaten, services is outstanding, was there just a moment ago with my wife. We celebrated 16 years today, and honestly it was a night to remember. If you want to have a night out the boys or girls, or celebrate anniversaries. I highly recommendation "The Melting Pot".
Great service, awesome food, and an intimate atmosphere. We will be going again! The SO got some cheesecake and "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate on a plate at no extra cost for her special day.
Really great staff, the service was a bit on the slow side but it seemed to be a pretty busy night. Our drinks took a long time to come but our server ended up comping them without us even showing we were upset or asking where they were so that was nice. I really love the cheese fondue here. It was my husbands first time trying and he really enjoyed everything as well. That’s saying something as he is the pickiest eater.
A very disappointing experience We decided on The Melting Pot for a birthday celebration. It’s to bad this place did not hold up to what I was expecting. We were a party of 3 . We had a waiter that did not seem to be able to manage his time very well He didn’t check on us after every course to ensure we were happy with the food. served. he forgot our drinks repeatedly. The busboy and manager brought our drinks after serval requests. Through out the evening this type of service continued I knew going in it would be a bit pricey however with that I expected fresh and quality food to be served. We started with the soup which came heated to a barely luke warm temp. Our waiter did not come back to the table for almost 45 min by then our soup bowls were already taken by the busboy. The charcuterie board they served dill pickles rice crackers bratwurst? and Genoa salami. All items I could have gotten at Superstore! I could have gone to the Italian center and bought better quality food. For you our cheese fondue they serve 3 pieces of broccoli a mountain of bread and carrots that were cut n very large chunks. The broth for the entree was tasteless. We had the ordered coq de vin. I could hardly taste anything. Lobster tails are previously frozen as well as the desserts leaving our Rice Krispies soggy and the sponge cake dry. For a 250 dollar meal they food should be at the very least fresh.very sub-par and poorly executed I will not be coming back for that amount a money spent.
Good food, but you pay too much money to cook your own meal
Delicious food, great service. Definitely don't come if you're in a hurry, this is an experience to be savored!
Very filling and nice atmosphere. Entree potatoes should been blanched a bit more. Took too long in the oil. Otherwise all good. First time experience.
I go to melting pot a few times a year but my experience today was terrible and I won’t ever return. We went with a group of 7 and were there for nearly 4 hours because of how disorganized people were. Food orders came out wrong (multiple peoples and multiple courses), our server would be gone for more than a half hour without checking in so getting refills for dippers or even water was nearly impossible. After waiting a half hour after FINISHING our entree we had to go get a manager just to get our dessert course brought out. The manager said he would come over to the table to discuss and never showed up. The server although acknowledging the poor service, kept blaming the system and being overworked, which i get.. but 4 hours is ridiculous. In the dessert course there was paper found in the food. When all was said and done all that they did was give a “chocolate card” and a 15% discount. Well we won’t be returning to use the chocolate card, and 15% on $100+ bills is not much for that level of poor service.
I'm sorry to say but I got food poisoning. Cheese fondue was cold when brought to our burner as well as the chocolate. So was our choice of cooking oil. It never got to boiling which is why i probably got food poisoning. Also way to expensive for what you get.
Our server was Aaron and he did a phenomenal job! He was very attentive and extremely friendly. The service provided was top tier and only made the food more exceptional. Certainly worth the price. We will be going again soon! Thank you
After great reviews from many friends we decided to try it for my wife and stepdaughters birthday. The cheese fondue at the beginning and the Chocolate/Caramel/Sea salt fondue and the end were great. Everything else in between was at best forgettable or terrible. The California salad was small, haphazardly put together and uneatable with wilted anemic greens. The girls ordered Caesar salads which they proclaimed to be good but the portions were very small. There is something not quite right with the whole concept. If two people are having the four course meal you share a cheese and dessert fondue, each select a salad and a main for $88.00. If four people are having the four course meal in addition to your salad and main you still only get one cheese and dessert fondue to share but now the price is $176.00. I would hope and assume that the portions are different but this was not apparent when we were comparing it to the tables beside us. A single pot for 4 people does not work it is too small and the broth cool too quickly when everyone starts cooking. This means food takes too long to cook and is continually falling off. In the end we just tossed everything into the pot making a weird sort of soup and fished things out with a spoon as they cooked. Same complaint as above, since we are paying twice as much why not give us another pot? The service was friendly enough but painfully slow and inattentive. Why would you go to so much fuss to find out if we were celebrating some special event and then not acknowledge it some way during the evening? I get the feeling its not a fun place to work as no one smiles or seems to be enjoying themselves from the servers to the gaggle of hostesses near the front door who were too busy chatting among themselves to acknowledge us as we left. I suppose they did not really care about what we though of our experience which should be the stock and trade of this style of restaurant. Conceptually this should have been a great place to eat. Anyone who has ever done a fondue at home can attest that it can be delicious, fun and very social. Either The Melting Pot is a victim of its own success and has forgotten this or perhaps they never had it. Don’t know and how the manager reacts to my complaint when I call them this evening will determine if I care. Will follow up.
Good food, fun environment. Service is usually pretty good. Expect to be here for a couple hours at least. Fondue is not a quick meal.
Took my gma here for her birthday for the first time and it was absolutely wonderful. The food is great and our waiter Ms.Ridge was so kind and nice. He made our experience very enjoyable. Love it!!!!!!!!
Super delicious meal. Very fun and interactive, however as a first timer I had a hard time getting them to explain the menu and what to expect. Super expensive but as I said very delicious
The service by Muhammad and the food were amazing! However we were sad to learn cheesecake was no longer part of the dessert options and we all think they should bring it back. Since we were a group of six loud people we asked for a secluded area and they put us in a private room which was very much appreciated. We will be back for sure. Finally what's up with the sticky floor in the bathroom?
We went last week (Just because) for our second time. Then again, it was a great experience. The waiters are very helpful, the food its great. On another note, the hostess seemed in a bad mood.
Excellent service, food, and wine. This place is pricey, and usually requires a reservation, but it's worth the effort to get a table. The menu can be a little overwhelming if you've never been there before, but they have simple specials and a four-course menu option to make it easier, and the staff is very helpful. The portions don't look overly big, but the four course meal is very filling. They have an excellent selection of wine, with a pairing option that gives you a small glass of selected wine for each course. Highly recommended for special occasions.
My boyfriend and I spent our anniversary here! We had wanted to come here before but they were booked up and we figured it wasn’t meant to be. So for our anniversary it was extra special. I loved the love drink, & the hearts. The cheese fondue was to die for! As cheese lovers, and chocolate lovers, this is the place to be ???? However, I just wished the table was a little bigger.
Nice atmosphere, food tastes great, and the wait staff were excellent! The only reason I give two stars is there was a live bug in my GFs food, and when dessert came it had peanut butter (which I'm allergic to) in the chocolate when it was only supposed to be milk chocolate. Thankfully my allergy isn't that severe and I don't go anaphylactic, but that means I was able to eat a few peices before I started having a reaction. I ended up throwing up in the washroom there and was up all night throwing up also.
Great place to go as couple, family or with some friends. Staff take care of you completely. Go early or else book a reservation. Enjoy
Very fun experience - takes about 2 hours from start to finish if you do the 4 courses. Quattro Fromage had much flavour and creaminess. The Land and Sea entree had a good portion and huge shrimp. Turtle Chocolate fondue was delicious and fun!
Just a fantastic experience!!! My wife and I loved it very intimate, and private , we sat and talked and ate for 2 and a half hours, never rushed . Just a great place for couples! It is a bit pricey but all quality restaurants are now
Had a great first experience cant wait to bring my boyfriend here and give it another go
Our Kids sent us for our anniversary. Was excellent as always
amazing experience, staff was great and the food was even better. I see some of the reviews on here are 1 star because they had to boil their meat lol. it's fondue style, if you don't like fondue it's not the place for you, however if you do ????????????
We had the crave special tonight. It was very filling and a nice way to spend an evening with my son. The salad could have been improved upon. It would be nice to have a caesar salad option. The Melting Pot House salad is plain and a better selection of dressings would have been nice.
This Is My All Time Favorite Restaraunt In Edmonton, Make Sure You Go On An Empty Stomach To Make It Worth It! It Is A Fondue Restaurant So I You Have To Cook Your Own Food But If You Haven't Been Here I Recommend You To Check It Out!
Sketchy, expensive and bad service. Withheld my wallet for over 48 hours. Three employees, including a manger, told me to stop contacting the restaurant about it being missing. They ended up having the wallet in their possession the entire time. They didn't even contact me when it was found like they said they would. When I asked the manager for a small $10 compensation to replace cancelled credit cards and licenses was told it wasn't their problem. When dinning there, our reservation for four was a half hour late, drinks were wrong or didn't come for long periods of time. Menu items were not in stock. Overall the worst experience with a restaurant establishment, especially when spending that kind of money to dine.
Was soo good took the wife and friends out was excellent experience
It was pretty good! It's definitely a special occasion place, like I wouldn't come here for a random Thursday night. It's quite expensive seeing that you have to cook your own food.. but you do get a lot. I was stuffed! Great for a birthday or celebration of some sort.
First time and it was amazing. Will definately go back
Excellent ambience dining experience. In my mind, many are accustomed to the ordering a dinner, eat it quickly and move on the other things planned for your evening. This process is not that, it requires you to slow down, take your time and enjoy the evening. Prepare to do just that. Portions were very appropriate per person and did not leave hungry. Thumbs up!!
Friendly and knowledgeable staffs. Had a great experience, good to try out. However, it can be a bit pricey.
The staff were extremely helpful and nice. We were seated immediately and they were very attentive to every table. The food was really good. We have the couple's four course experience. I really enjoyed the cheese and the chocolate fondue experience. The entre I enjoyed but not as much as the others. Overall I would rate it a 8.6 out of 10. If you enjoy snack bits and a close couple experience and mood lighting this is the place for you.
Food was amazing! Ive been to this place many times and Im always recommending it because it is absolutely fantastic. Its hard to pick favourites because most of the menu is just so good. Definitely a bit pricey but worth it in my opinion. Good for a date night, they have some relatively private booths with good romantic lighting so it can be a very nice evening. The custom drinks are really good too usually. Love it and will always come back!
Meal type
I love the layout of this place.. its soo private. Food is amazing.. Prices are $$ but i believe it was worth it.. Staff was great.. gluten free options as well :)
Good food small portions but they kinda make up for it with complimentary breads and veggies. So 4 out of 5 for sure.
My wife and I have always made an effort to celebrate our special moments at the Melting Pot with friends and family. Last year I had a serious medical incident at the Melting Pot leaving me with multiple hospital visits. My doctor believes the incident may be related to a food allergy. After requesting the help of Melting Pot to get specific ingredient information regarding their sauces, they've chosen to ignore me, its now over 6 months since we first requested the information. While the food is top notch, and the service fantastic, I feel that I can no longer enjoy this great restaurant or recommend it given its potential impacts to my health and the cold shoulder I recieved from their main office.
Amazing food and great service. Very attentive staff and made us feel welcome. A great place ton celebrate a special occasion!
Great food, great service!
Had a great time, enjoying fondue with a group of ladies. We had a private room, which was great, but the lighting was quite dim. I was at the end of our table and did not have light above me so I found it very dark.
One of my favourite date night places!!
Had a reservation for 6:30 and checked in on time but didn't get seated until 7:15. We were seated in the middle and there is no lighting on or over the tables, it was so dark we could barely read the menu. Order the four course menu. Cheese fondue was made at the table which was neat but the quality mediocre. Bread was like cold olive garden bread sticks chopped up, very poor. Salad was lackluster. Main course was okay. Had steak chicken pork shrimp and veg. The best was the mushrooms. Sauces to dip were terrible and lacked all creativity. The desert chocolat fondue was spot on and the only food item worth while. For $130 (no drinks) for 2 I expected a lot more from this place. I hope I never have to go back and if I do stick to dessert. For someone that has never had hotpot or fondue they might like it but you could easily make/get better elsewhere.
Really tasty fondue and staff members were friendly and helpful. However, the lighting was very low/dim and the menu is often too confusing to read that the waitress had to explain it. This is my 5th visit and I still had to get the waitress to help me understand the menu and pricing.
We love this place. Even though after 25 visits they still ask if this is our first time. Fun, goid food, good all around.
Such good food! They were quite busy, our reservation was pushed 15mins late, and the servers were slow to the tables because of the amount of people. But otherwise great food, great atmosphere. Love this place!
We went to celebrate a birthday and had an exceptional experience! Food was awesome and the restaurant was clean!
First of all, very slow getting in. Our reservation was at 7:30 and we didn't get to a table until about 7:50. Didn't actually eat untill 8:30. Our server was super friendly and really nice. It was 9 o'clock and our entree was nowhere near done and we still had dessert to go, mind you it closes at 10, so we just paid for our cheese fondue and 2 salads. Came out to be 50 dollars. Definitely not worth it. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you're made of money. Food was good but not worth it.
Good food. Were out of a couple dishes but overall a good experience!
A good experience and a lot of food. If you get the 4-course experience or the Big Night Out, you'll really get to enjoy the most out of the melting pot. The cheese Fondue comes with an assortment of bread, vegetables and apples. These are complimentary items and you can ask for more if you want. The entree comes with your choice of the meats but everyone at the table has to agree on the same cooking style as that is what will go in your fondue pot as you cook your meat. The chocolate fondue comes with an assortment of desserts including strawberries, marshmallows, brownies, pineapples, bananas, pound cakes etc. These are also complimentary. Note that there can only be one fondue out at a time at a 2-seater table, so only once you finish your cheese, do you get to move onto your entree and then your dessert.
We went tonight for a birthday, the staff and atmosphere was amazing we had a great time as we always do here. Champagne on the table with balloons was an amazing touch ! Every one of us had great drinks and a great 4 course experience!
Absolutely amazing, super friendly staff, quick waiting times and the food was A+ will definitely be returning
I find its more of a date or small group place to go, 4 kids can kind of take away from the enjoyment....and it is pricey....but amazing. They have private rooms, which is a special feature. Our waiter, a young man from Cuba, made our experience there a wonderful one.
Service
I had a reservation for 7:15 pm on Sunday June 16, 2019 for 3 people, we left at 10:45pm. We told the server and the manager we were celebrating my moms birthday. They didn’t do anything special. The server started off cheerful and friendly and my family was excited to have a nice meal. The service is beyond horrible. I had read the reviews before hand, thinking how bad can it be but it’s worse than you can imagine. I should mention I did see a loud obnoxious table with a different server get everything they could even desire (fast service and huge plates of all the meats instantly). The server was nice to them but she didn’t help out any of her coworkers with their tables or look around to see if she could help anyone. The melting pot is beyond appalling in teamwork as it seems to be a fend for yourself environment. The server had asked a manager to come to our table. She had long blonde hair and was wearing a dress, she was very apologetic and promised us the rest of the meal would be better. But what she failed to do was even follow up. The rest of meal was still the same terrible service and she disappeared at the end of the night so I couldn’t talk to any manager. The salad took so long, we thought they had to grow it first. The server kept avoiding out table because he didn’t know what to say. And than it was supposed to be unlimited entree but it took so long and they were out of shrimp. We received pasta as a replacement but that’s not really equivalent. The server kept blaming the kitchen and at this point I think everything was a fail. Other servers stood around not helping him at all. I actually had to stand up and ask for the server to some other servers that were sitting folding napkins because we didn’t get our dessert until about 10:00. We ordered extra dessert dippers right away but didn’t get it till 10:30. We were ready to leave at that point. Our server gave us extra strawberries to take home, however no one even wished my mom a happy birthday. Also, the washrooms were not attended to and some of the stalls were either dirty or no toilet paper. The discount was minimal. I won’t be back and I won’t be recommending this place to anyone. I previously did a really positive review in 2017 and everything has changed.
I recommended getting the cheese and chocolate fondue. Doing the full 4 course meal is usually too much... By the time chocolate fondue rolls around, you're already stuffed! My favorite cheese fondue is the Quattro Fromaggio, but no matter which one you choose, you can't go wrong! This place also has gluten free options which great for all Celiac's out there! They have GF dippers for the both the cheese and chocolate fondue.
My last experience was not as enjoyable as it has been in the past, the service was horrible, took over half an hour to get drinks, we had an allergy and the server seemed very unsure about changes to the menu, we asked for straws, napkins, and water twice and never received, had to stop another server and ask a third time and finally received. In the past after the first cheese course the server scarped the best cheese from the bottom for us to finish, thinking she would do the same but she just took it before we were finished, we tried to stop her but she walked away. We ordered soup, it never came, we asked during our main course, she said she would bring it and never did, we ordered coffee during dessert that also was never served, when we were almost done she said "oh, were you waiting on something else?" and when the bill came we were charged for the soup we never received. Also the strawberries were not very fresh, very disappointed for a $150 meal.
My very first experience here was amazing. I went with an ex staff member and she talked up the place and got me really excited to go. The food was delicious, however there was no service check, and the steak lovers didn't come with the batter that I was very excited to try. Felt a little ripped off that I didn't get the full experience, but the server said she was busy, so I didn't say anything. My second experience gets winner for absolute WORST customer service award. I called and asked to book a reso for that night. Jenny asked what time I wanted to come in, I said 8. She said sorry we're fully booked for the night. A little disappointed, I asked if there was a wait list or if I could just show up. She was very short with me on the phone and said " no, we don't do that". In the background, I heard someone come in, the other hostess asked if they had a reso, they said no, and the hostess was like "okay give me a second, I'll see if we can -CLICK .....and then she throws me on hold without even letting me no she's putting me on hold. She comes back and I just tell her nevermind, I'll just book for tomorrow, and then I go to opentable and find there are reso's available for 8, 8:30, 8:45 and 9pm. Super disappointed. I totally understand if the restaurant is full, but the hostess couldn't seem less enthused to help me book for another time. By the end of the conversation I felt drained, and was googling comparable fondue restaurants in edmonton. I do feel as though because I came with an ex- staff member, I didn't get the full experience that I could have. The entire interaction with our table was awkward at best. Had that phone call been my first experience, I wouldn't have ever given this place another chance.
Second time going - this time with a group of 10. No issues with the booking, quiet room off to the side and service was excellent. Food quality was quite good. The cheese and chocolate fondue being my favourite - salad was excellent too. My only complaint would be the dipper choices, the pasta was not great, and some more fruit esp. for the chocolate.
I took 2 guests to dinner and none of of us had ever been to The Melting Pot before. We had to wait a few minutes for our table at 6 p.m. and the waiting area was nice and cool and well-appointed, but not large enough for all the people who were waiting. We were led to our seat, wading through a large group of servers and when we sat down we faced the huge menus. Our server came to us almost immediately to ask what we wanted to drink. She had to explain the menu and how to order twice to us. As the restaurant filled it became uncomfortably hot, likely in part due to the hot plates on every table and the steam from some of them. It would have been nice to escape the heat that was outside already too. With the exception of the obviously rotten potatoes we were given which were replaced very quickly by the manager when she checked in with our table, the food was outstanding and it was an interesting and fun food experience. I would recommend it as a novelty experience and for the food. But you do have to know the environment you're going to be in, which is close, hot and noisy from the other diners. A four-course meal with no alcohol was just under $200 for 3 people.
Amazing staff and amazing food definitely made my first time here amazing
Fun place and made dining an experience. Pretty good value for money as well. Would have given it a higher rating, but we had to wait more than 20 minutes for our table despite having a reservation.
Such a fantastic experience. It is expensive but you are paying for a fantastic experience. It's just a lovely atmosphere. Food is excellent. Everything about this place is 5*
It was my birthday celebration last night and was very disappointed with this place. My husband asked them for the balloons and chocolates because its my bday and when I got to the table I saw tiny balloons and chocolate in a jar that is not worthy of additional $15. Also, we asked for the Edmonton Big Night Out and was so excited to have it but got so upset that it wasn’t a whole lot of meat to eat. Literally my husband said we wasted 4 hours of our life. It is too pricey as well. My husband and I were full because of the dessert that’s it. I won’t be coming back to this place. $140 isn’t worth it to spend.
Had an absolutely fantastic Valentine's Day meal at a new place we had never tried before. We didn't make reservations so ended up seated at the bar, which turned out to be the best way! Friendly and attentive service, cheerful and just so positive. We loved it! The food was delicious. Wasn't so thrilled with the entree meats being raw. Our only complaint. They should have been par cooked prior to being served so as to reduce cook time. The broth method worked well for the seafood, but that's it. The beef, chicken and pork took forever (being aware as I am of required internal safe temperatures). A quick sear of those meats would have made all the difference. We even enjoyed the fixed menu options as it offered lots for both our tastes and forced us to try new things. Overall, we came out raving about this experience. We will definitely be going back! 10/5 Stars for food, value, quality and staff! It was recommended to us by a co worker of hubby's and we are so thankful for the introduction! Lost one star only due to the raw meats.
So dissapointed with our last visit. This is normally our go to date night restaurant. But our past experience was our last. I understand covid has changed some restaurants ways of doing things but this was beyond that. The menu is maybe 1/4 of what it used to be. We had a constant vibration under us. Thinking someone maybe lost their phone in the booth. so the manager came and said it was the pipes underground causing the vibrations. They dont make the food in front of you and the cheese was sooooo runny. It was almost a soup. The main course was soooooo salty it was so disappointing. We got half a small potato as one of the unlimited items so we asked for more, by the time it got to us we were already finished our main course. The chocolate was decent, again only getting half of the normal variety of dippers. All in all it was not worth the $180 it cost us. Price was just for food. We didnt order any booze.
Lovely atmosphere and excellent food/ wine. The full fondue meal is an experience worth having for sure. Although a word of warning, it does take several hrs so you should really like the person you go with and don't go with a time limit in mind????
We went for the after 8:00 endless fondue. The post the the website says choice of cheese fondue, choice of soup or salad, specialty fondue and then choice of chocolate fondue. The choice offered is one of two from a special menu. One of two cheese. My wife did not want either one. A choice of a salad or a soup. Neither one was what I wanted. One of two chocolate. Neither chocolate were what we wanted. The food was good but would have been better with our choice. The service was good
I’ll start off by saying the food here is amazing and seating is nice and private. But I had a reservation for 7:30 and left shortly after 11. Our broth boiled on our plate for over 1hr before we got our food. A good portion of the broth evaporated at that point. We had a 3 course for 2 people and we waited between 40mins to an hour for each one. Cheese, Broth and chocolate took 3 1/2 hours. Service is everything and there was none here.
I called in to inquire about the best times for appetizers and desserts. The lady who answered failed to inform me that there is crave combo before 4pm and after 9pm which was very upsetting as I was told to come any time, and almost missed out on this deal when I arrived at 8pm. Leandro was a great server throughout the whole night and talked to his manager about accommodating me. He gave us great service and checked up on us at the appropriate time with a positive attitude every time.
My wife and I have been here twice, the service, food , atmosphere were all on point very professional, it was excellent! Love this place!!
Me and my girlfriend came here to celebrate our two year anniversary. We were here for a while as we enjoyed our dishes. The flavours were very strong and savoury. We sat in the couples booth, and I must say that this was one of the most romantic experiences that Ive ever had with my girlfriend. Our waiter was absolutely stellar, I give a big shoutout to Cam the waiter for making our experience memorable. Everything was perfect, and if I could suggest anything, then it would be to expand the resteraunt so that it's easier to make reservations, and perhaps lower the price a bit to make going out more often more affordable. But other than those small points, I had a wonderful night.
Omg! Great food, great service! Comfortable seating, arranged for privacy and quiet!
The melting pot is the best place to celebrate special occasions. I an never disappointed in the service and the food. The servers spend a lot of time with their customers as they make two of the three fondues you get the pleasure of enjoying. The meats are so tender and flavourful with delicious spice blends marinating each one. Dessert choices are fresh as they have a high turnover and dipping any fruit into chocolate is heavenly bliss. We will always go back for the food and the experience.
Atmosphere was noisy and dark. Food to an exceptionally long time to come to our table. Food was good but also not enough to satisfy our appetite.
Supper was fabulous!! Service was fabulous!! Only issue was they messed up our reservation and manager treated us like we were the problem even though it was on their system. Moved past that and enjoyed our evening
Fantastic experience. Waiter was fantastic as well.
Use to be My Favorite place . NOT anymore , they have cut so many corners and cheaped out on the quality of food , So not worth the money. Big disappointment. Plus they use to mix the cheese dips infront of you , this time came more then have mixed , feels like they try to rush you out . Save your money go to McDonald's.
Food was great!! our server Dave was really friendly someone give him a raise! ????
I have mixed feelings about my first time at the Melting Pot. I understand that it is fondue, so the service will be slower, however it took us almost 30 minutes before a server even came to our table. In the end, it took us several hours to finish our meal because the service was incredibly slow. We had made a reservation for 8:30 and did not receive our main course until 10:30. It then took another hour for us to get dessert, even though the restaurant was mostly empty by that point. However the food quality was quite good, and the manager was very kind and receptive to our complaints. Because of that, I will give the Melting Pot three stars. Unfortunately, I do not think that it should take 3 hrs to have a meal.
I love dipping things in other things so this place is great! I definitely won’t make it a routine stop but on very select occasions it’s great.
Dine in
Excellent varied food choices. There's something for everyone. Fantastic.
Great for a date night or a family get together. Staff were attentive and helpful.
We went here for the first time and were pleasantly surprised. The Cheese fondue wasn't our favorite but it was fun to try. The meats and sauces were very delicious and the mushrooms were super yummy. The chocolate fondue was by far my favorite part of the meal! It was rich and delicious and we couldn't stop eating it. Only flaw I would say was it was a tad dark to see if your meat was cooked or not. Would for sure come back again.
Mixed feelings here. The food was amazing but the service was extremely slow. I also found a hair in my food, was told by the waiter they'd notify the manager and nothing was done. I think the issue lies in how service is setup/ organized not the people themselves. As for the hair thing, no excuse for that, maybe they just forgot? I was there for 2 hours already and needed to leave so I didn't ask again.
Food, atmosphere and Covid restrictions were followed. Recommend ending with chocolate desert.
We went there for our first time to celebrate our anniversary. It was always on my list to visit Melting Pot. The food was decent. I was impressed with the cheese and chocolate quality. However, our reservation was at 830 and they didn’t take us in until 850. Our server was sick and was continuously wiping her nose with her hand while serving us. I wasn’t going l complain because I tested my luck hoping I won’t get sick. The next day after our date. I ended up sick and now my husband is sick. For a higher end restaurant. It’s important to take care of there employees or have some training on personal hygiene
Dinner
I have been here quite a few times... and am a little surprised I haven't made a review yet, because this place is awesome. Anyhoo! There's not too much to say, other than the food and service is always top notch. I can be a real abcD of a customer sometimes, and they're still always very kind and attentive. If you get a four course meal though, be aware, you will not leave with a food baby. It's going to be twins or triplets. Plan to spend three hours here just for a nice buffer if you have other events to attend. Not really on the restaurant, but and FYI, the parking lot is pot hole city. Be aware, especially in winter.
ordered the big dinner for 2. We got baked potato soups, Wisconsin cheese fondue , caramel chocolate fondue, lobster filet sirloin chicken salmon mushroom caps aspargus zucchini and we used the grilling table. Overall pretty good along with great service and it will run you about 110 for 2 people, before drinks and anything else
I wish I could give this zero stars. I used to LOVE going to the melting pot, but after last night, never again. It was my brother in law's birthday, so we booked a table for 4. They took us to a table that only had one burner, but because we wanted different things we asked to be moved to a bigger table. The service went downhill from there. We never got asked if we wanted drink refills, we waited 45 minutes for the cheese portion, and then 30 minutes after that was gone our meals came... our desserts never arrived. We asked for them to be taken of our bill and were told that because we ordered the big night out package that it couldn't be taken off. We'd already been there for 3 hours at this point, because of all the waiting. They did give us a card for chocolate fondue for next time, but the back of the card says we must spend 60 bucks to get it... UHHHH my bill was over $200 and we didn't even get what we were supposed to and they want us to spend more to get it next time? Eff that. I will be out the money and the cards are useless because there is NO way I am going there again.
Waste of money! Our previous experiences with the third course lead us to believe that it would be worth it to just go for chocolate fondue... Well let me tell you exactly what you'll get, $28 (for 2) you get, your choice of chocolate, 4 slices of banana, 4 strawberries, 2 pieces of pineapple, 2 marshmallows and two small cubes of each of the fallowing, rice crispy treats, brownies, blondies, and pound cake. The waiter will try to upsell you to purchase a extra portion for $12 (thats $40 +tax and tip) which is understandable because that isnt enough dippers to use even half of the chocolate. We booked the reservation for our anniversary and when we checked in they took us to a section where half of the tables had rose petals and candles and I was assuming that we might get them too, nope nothing. Now it has been 2 years since we were there and times are tough but we were so disappointed.
The food here is really good so it makes up for the terrible service we had last night. Our waitress forgot to give us all the menus so we missed out on the endless fondue option. One of the hostesses brought us the menu and gave us the option to switch our choice though. Then our Server left a setting on the fondue pot that made it so it just kept beeping while we were trying to eat. The nice hostess came back and tried to fix it but another server (Not ours) was finally able to fix the beeping. Then our waitress got our hopes up on this soup that they had ended up not having and she said the other soup we ordered was taking a while because they were heating it up but then she served it to us cold! I also asked for a side of pickled asparagus and she brought me a side of pickled beans literally an hour later and said it was as a peace offering (But I ordered these...Lol). She also forgot to bring the ice bucket to keep our bottle cold. We also ordered more sesame sauce and by the time she finally brought it we were done eating. She messed up our cheese fondue order so she offered to give us a free cheese fondue. When ordered the complimentary cheese fondue and she brought us our bill she said her Manager wouldn't let us have it for free after all. I was really confused about the whole situation so I asked to speak with the Manager or at least have her name but she wouldn't tell me and she said the Manager can't talk. After all that I was still content with how kind the server was but this was actually unbelievable. The really nice server ended up offering to buy us a drink out of her own pocket, which she shouldn't have had to do. Poor Management. I give this three stars for the effort, a knowledgeable Server and good food. Minus two stars, for whatever the heck that was all about.
We had Leandro as a server tonight and was surprised to hear this was his first week serving. Wonderful service, personable and very knowledgeable. Very good asset for your company.
This place rocked like always. It's a great place to enjoy a romantic time or time with family and friends. Food is always good and it's a fun way to while away 3 hours.
We made a reservation here for two on my birthday and got there right on time. I can’t say anything that much about the staff yet Nick who served us was really friendly and helped us first timers in the restaurant. The menu seems to be overwhelming at first but he helped us by explaining things here and there and we got our decisions made fairly. Our table was reserved as my partner requested, with rose petals and candles, twas really romantic. I didn’t know about the interiors and so I thought we’re going to be on the public room and it was more. The serving portions of their food is reasonable and filling, I loved their dessert fondue, dark chocolate, strawberry filling and balsamic? Who knew they’ll mix so well?! In the end for my birthday, as part of the reservation request, I got a plate that has birthday greetings on it with the dessert and candle lit, not only that, but the writings on the plate were prepared ahead as the chocolate syrup was completely frozen and still! Had an amazing night at The Melting Pot, I would totally recommend this to my friends!
Extraordinary staff, amicable and truly educated. Everytime I'm in the shop somebody is accessible to assist me with trip with all that I need, I generally leave a cheerful client. They have an enormous assortment/wide scope of items at incredible costs to suit your necessities. I appreciate visiting the shop and simply investing energy in there! Much obliged Weed store keep up the stunning work!
Always a wonderful expierence coming to this restaurant. I have gone here for variois occassions such as family birthdays and friends birthdays, most recently i had my anniversary Dinner here. I requested for them to add alittle romance to the table. To our delight, we had candles and rose petals spread on a the table. The food is always great quality, the sercice is impeccable and my added favorite part is they actually take the time to explain how it works and what youll get in the 4 course dinner experience. The waiter/waitress always comes and checks if youd like refills on drinks, veggies or fruit. I really enjoy the melting pot and recommend the expierence!
We have tried the fondue restaurant in Sherwood Park and it simply does not compare. Very good drinks and atmosphere, especially if you manage to snag one of their more private tables. The food has been excellent quality every time. We love that you get a variety of sauces (6-7 I believe) rather than a limit and can have unlimited dipping pieces for all but the main course. All but this last time the service has been excellent (have visited for 8 yrs). This time it appeared we had an inexperienced server, though that could likely be due to the pandemic.
Service was top notch, the environment was cozy and private. We got the 4 course meal, Quattro Formaggio was delicious, salads were decent, seafood platter and classic platter were great, dark and dolce chocolate was amazing. Overall great place to go for celebrating a significant event. Not a place for just an average night out as it is quite expensive.
What an overated and overpriced place! The food was fine, but nothing spectacular. The service was good but VERY slow. I understand that it's a relaxed and leisurely meal but to wait 45 minutes between courses is rediculous. Not sure what you're actually paying for though. It's not the cooking of the food, since you do that yourself. Its not the quality of the food since it's just grocery store quality. And it's also not the atmosphere as it's very quiet and isolating. Hopefully the servers are paid above average as they have to prepare the cheese fondue at the table. I couldn't recommend The Melting Pot, unless you really like paying out the nose for long drawn out mediocre meals.
Nice place to spend extra time visiting with friends. Food is basic, service is nothing special. Very pricey for what you get.
This place is a great location to have a pleasant outing with a significant other or a group of friends. This place is fairly reasonable for the quality of service you receive, the atmosphere, and food eaten. Be ready to stay awhile as the 4 course meal can take quite a good chunk of time to cook and eat.
It is a nice place to dine for a special occasion. It is very dark inside. The waiter was very good.
I went there about a year ago with 5 other people. We had to share 2 pots between the six of us. Pots were overcrowded with too many forks so food took longer to cook. And also not very accessable for that many people. Also we ran out of cheese. Would have been ok if there were only four of us. We paid over a hundred dollars each and we were still hungry at the end. There was an empty table that had spots for 3 pots. We asked to sit there and were denied. The whole time we were there no one sat at that other table. Very disappointing that they cannot accomodate 6 people.
Always an absolute fantastic experience. Food is delicious and service is phenomenal. Bring your appetite because you are going to need it.
Was a fantastic experience. Our waiter went above and beyond to keep things light and flowing. Cant wait to go back!
Best experience I've had in a long time, great service and amazing food. Definitely will be back and continue to recommend to others. Also ate a candle.
Wonderful experience. We will definitely come back. Amazing server too. She explained everything so well and had great suggestions.
We got a 4 course meal which consisted of cheese fondue, salad, proteins with 6 diff dipping sauces, and chocolate fondue. Staffs were friendly and atmosphere was very intimate. It was definitely a fun experience. I would totally go back.
We tried this place for the first time with some friends and we really enjoyed it. Lots of flavour and unique eating experience. It was a little pricey for the amount of food you got but it was worth it.
For special occasions it has always been the melting pot for my wife and I, tonight for our anniversary dinner it was no different. The food was great the service was prompt but we had a major problem with the plastic serving cups for the dipping sauces. For a reasonably expensive meal single use plastic reminded us more of a McDonald’s experience than a romantic dinner. Even more importantly the amount of unnecessary plastic waste is not acceptable. The food, drinks and service was top notch, but until the plastic is gone we won’t be back.
It was my 1st time dinning at a Fondue Restaurant. So the experience was amazing. I booked to celebrate an anniversary. So I added some perks like candle light dinner, rose petals spread on the table, and a bouquet of roses. $63 incl tax for those, expensive and reasonable if you know what I mean. We ordered for a 4 course dinner for two called Big night out, starting with creme of mushroom as entree which was great. Then came the chess Fondue, and then the main course called big night out with salmon, chicken, shrimp, fillet mignon and sirloin each with different marination along with a broth called Mojo to cook them with and some vegis. Finally the dessert chocolate fondue called s'mores. The food for each course was tasty I will rate them at least 7 out of 10. The servers are really nyc and professional. The experience was exceptional. Came back of with a very happy wife. So 10 out of 10 for that. Very busy at least for a Wednesday. 1st date, celebrate a day or just to experience fondue great place to go.
Incredible! Haven't eaten here in a few years but still as good as ever. Definitely go for an experience and not just a dinner. No rush, just sit back and enjoy your food as it comes out at a great pace and you remain satisfied the entire time. They unfortunately had no wafers for with the dessert addition which we were looking forward to but the manager took off part of the price due to them no being able to comply with the menu. One of my favourite places to eat in the city and would recommend to everyone!
I really enjoyed my annual Christmas trip to the Melting Pot this year. Our food was served fresh, promptly, and with enthusiasm! I really appreciate the fondue coming out hot and ready to serve - helps keep things moving. Generous portion sizes mean you don't leave hungry and cooking instructions are kept simple. Also, their take on an Old Fashioned, smoked at the table, was also a nice touch. Will definitely be back for more!
Love the food and come 1-3 times a year. The service has gone downhill lately however. Hoping that starts getting better.
This place was terrible on every level, I honestly don’t understand why anyone would eat here. But just to be clear about how bad let’s make a list. 1) The food is just bad. One pot of cheese for a table of 3 was 50 dollars by itself, and the dipping things were basically defrosted frozen veggies, the equivalent of chopped up bread crust and halved packaged baby carrots. WTF if I am going to pay that much I at least expect fresh ingredients. The desert for three people was 30 dollars and that turned out to be not even 1/3 of a small bowl of chocolate and some random little food bits that were not even close to fresh. 2) Service was completely terrible, the server was rude and made a snide comment when we were considering ordering just the cheese and desert, as a full meal for the three of us would have been well over $150. On top of that they kept screwing up our (very simple) order and the wait on the food was forever 3) Prices were utterly ridiculous if you couldn’t Tell from 1 & 2. I have never paid that much in my life for so little food made with such bad ingredients. Price gouging doesn’t even begin to describe what that was. In conclusion, do yourself a huge favour and just go to Chili hot pot, or if you really want fancy try Beira (amazing food) or a good Brazilian steakhouse. This place is so ridiculously bad it is almost comical.
Altogether very good experience. Beautiful dining atmosphere, staff are polite, which is important to me
It is quite expensive, but well worth it in my opinion.Every year there is always something new. I absolutely love their vegetarian dish and my husband normally gets what is featured. You can reserve and request a private booth for your special occasion. We really appreciate that.
Had a pretty awesome, pretty expensive meal with the wife. Service was great, my only complaint was I ordered a Bee's Tea, thinking that $7 was a little pricey for a non alcoholic cocktail, but why not, because how often do I get to eat a fancy expensive meal like this? It turned out to be $11 when the bill came, but I would have felt awkward making a deal out of it at the restaurant. So I'm complaining about it here on the internet. I'd still probably eat here again, (after saving up my nickels over the next few years) just avoid that particular land-mine.
Melting Pot always aims to please their customers. Every thing is so perfect there. Expensive but the experience is totally worth every penny. Every time. For any occasion. Must go at least once in your life!
Service
I have been to this location multiple times, as a large group, small dinner party and romantic date. This is a perfect place to spend the evening and I highly recommend it. The staff is friendly, fun and great at adding just the right touches.
Amazing food, presentation, service and environment. If you're looking for a nice fancy place to take a date too, this is the place. Definitely the best place I've been to in Edmonton.
All of my experiences with The Melting Pot have been nothing but pleasant. The warm atmosphere, friendly staff, and quality food are all very welcoming. Further, for couples who want to dine in a more secluded and intimate space, I would highly recommend making a reservation in the Lover's Lane. The only complaint I would have is the pricing, but I do fully recognize that The Melting Pot is a higher end restaurant, and that the stated prices do reflect the dishes fairly. I highly recommend for any one who is new to fondue to give The Melting Pot a try.
Went for anniversary, all staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Really felt special. Great recommendations and amazing food.
tl;dr: Good food with terrible service makes the bill especially tough to swallow. We have been coming to the Melting Pot since it opened and our latest experience there was extremely disappointing. Our server was very aloof about almost everything. Our table didn’t have a drink menu, and when we asked to see one, the server couldn’t locate any. We decided to skip the oil fondue this time around, but we ordered a larger portion of the cheese, along with a “charcuterie” at extra cost. When the cheese came out, it was delivered by someone other than our server, and it was already mixed and hot! One of the best parts of The Melting Pot has always been the server throwing all the ingredients into the fondue and seeing it all come together. Mr. Not-Our-Server dumped some Worcestershire sauce in and left. The supposed charcuterie included about 5 slices of salami and a bowl of cut up pickles. Not even close to worth $10/person. We demolished the salami quite quickly and then twiddled our thumbs waiting for the usual cheese dippers. Our actual server came by to check on us after about 10 minutes and we informed him that we had received no dippers. He quickly brought out two servings of dippers, which slightly made up for the wait, but it shouldn’t have happened to begin with. After we finished the cheese course, we finally received a drink menu, but weren’t in the mood for drinks anymore. We ordered our chocolate. This one was also delivered pre-made by yet a different server/runner, who sprinkled some salt on top and left (thankfully leaving us with dippers this time). I will say that the food tasted great as always, but the terrible service really sullied the entire night. We had made a tradition of going there at least once a year, but I think that tradition will come to an end. Not worth the price of admission.
It was our first time there and we didn't know what to expect or how the whole thing worked but our server was great and took the time to go over everything with us and made a few suggestions for our experience. We had a good time and the overall quality and value are worth it. Would do it again.
Love coming here for a pricey date night. Always full after a meal. Staff are fun and efficient. The chocolate martinis are my favourite. Though the food is always fantastic the washrooms our last couple visits have been in need of repairs. Freezing cold in women’s bathroom. 2/4 stalls “out of order” and a massive unsightly unpainted unsanded patch covered by a drink smart poster. Water in mens room ran cold
Four of us went there to celebrate a birthday. Food and service were average. Prices were extremely high.
Probably one of my favourite restaurants in Edmonton
Went here for my Mom's birthday, so there were 6 of us. The FOOD is terrific. No complaints there. But the server seemed to have an attitude, and 6 people all boiling their food at once made it take way longer. Bottom line, though. And this is the reason not to go. 50 bucks I spent going to this place. And there is no freaking way I got my money's worth. Might be a great place for couples. But I'm pretty sure I'm never going there again.
I have been here on many occasions ranging from fun hang outs with friends, to date nights, and anniversaries. The service is always excellent thanks to the very attentive and well trained wait staff. The Classic alpine is my personal favourite as a lover of sharp cheese fondue, and one of my favourite meals to share with my girl friend.
Nice place . Great staff
Great for something different. Ideal for a long, relaxing meal with no rush or pressure from the staff. The desserts are amazing.
You'll spend a long time there but definitely worth it. Amazing food. Make sure you're super hungry before you get there!
2 1/2 stars Romantic, private, long dining times. The bread was stale which is the only starch of the meal during the cheese fondue part. The cooking styles for entrees are basically boiling, deep frying, or cast iron grill. Unfortunately the table needs to decide on one of these for the whole table despite individual proteins. I had to boil my steak and had to take it home to give away (if possible) or throw out. 10:30pm and I’m trying to figure out what to eat for dinner because I walked away hungry. I tipped well, but will not be back.
First timer and what an amazing experience. The ambiance was amazing, the food was excellent and the service was superb. Thank you!
Fondue is way more than melted chocolate! Love how the meat is prepared. It is a 2 hour, 4 course meal but it is definitely an experience and quite costly but I would definitely return to this unique establishment! ????
I stand up and applaud the melting pot for supporting local. When their ice machine breaks they call the Alberta owned ice company, not America's ice company. Nothing better, more exciting, make you feel warm and fuzzy inside than local Alberta businesses working together to make this province one of the best places to live on earth. As for Fondue, I can't help but wonder if a guy has ever dropped the ring in the cheese or chocolate? Should one propose over a hot pot of relish cheese?
A celebration place perfect for a anniversary or important date. Knowledgeable staff. Remember to ask for private booth when reserving. We will be back.
A unique and fun dining experience. The friendly and knowledgeable staff gently guide first time diners to a perfect dining experience. With a fantastic professionally lighthearted atmosphere they offer a huge variety of fresh options for even the most picky diner . Definitely would recommend this for a great family experience
A must have experience! Was taken here for mother's day and it was an amazing 3 hour experience of visiting and eating so many new things! Absolutely delicious and wonderful service! Recommended 100%
Excellent as always! Went in for a cheese and chocolate lunch course. Very good service and delicious food. Get the Loaded Baked Potato cheese and the Smores chocolate!
Great atmosphere for that special lady in your life . The meals are fantastic. Wish we had one in our town
I really liked my first time here but this time didn't live up to my expectations. They changed the way they make the fondues so it's less of an experience. Mainly the cheese fondue course wasn't prepared in front of you anymore... we had to remind our server about our drinks - and it seemed like he prioritized the other tables in our section. So much so that they forgot about the last course -- THE CHOCOLATE FONDUE. Still good food and I'll be back but yeah...
Love, love, love this place. Especially great for catching up with girlfriends. Dave was our server last time we visited and he was a lot of fun. Fabulous food, great wine.
Amazing place with awesome atmosphere. I took my girlfriend there for our anniversary and they had us secluded and had put rose petals to add some romance. Nick was amazing helpful and just a delight to have help us! Can't say enough good things about this place and will always return when we visit from Saskatoon
Food is amazing! We did the four course dinner for 5 people and there was so much food and choice! Would recommend to anyone celebrating a special occasion or just a night out! Reservations are a must!
For the love of god dont go here hungry. Stop and get a burger or 3 along the way. Neat experience but was a 35 minute wait between courses and minimal food.
I booked a reservation and made it very clear that we required a table rather than a booth due to the needs of our party. We were kept waiting well over 10 minutes to be seated despite a reservation and the restaurant was very quiet with only one other party. I made the need for a table clear clear via email and over the phone. I also reminded them upon arrival. When I arrived they dragged us to the back of the restaurant to sit at a booth and it was a real inconvenience that we needed a table. The person who required a table didn't need all of those unnecessary steps nor did they require the criticism of the waiter as they lamented the inconvenience. Unbelievably after we were seated the waitress then began to promote us sitting at different table because a table near us would have children and we might find that disruptive. We explained how important a table was for us. This made the person who had the requirement feel terrible and drew attention to their situatio needlessly. The children were just delightful. Unfortunately we were seated beside a blender that kept be used to make drinks. It was on about 10 times for 2-3 minutes each during our hour there. It disrupted conversation and was irritating.
Dinner
We always get the best service and the food and value cannot be beat. A perfect date night.
peaceful and romantic atmosphere with friendly staff
Awesome staff, awesome food
Sooo dark inside and cold. Service took forever. Didn't have certain beers, they ran out of savionblanc and tried to give me chardonnay instead. Not worth the money.
Favorite place for our two boys to spend a special dinner - one loves cheese, the other is a chocoholic, so a huge hit for everyone! Because of covid closures our latest order was takehome, and was super easy to do, great kit for cheese, chocolate, and the meats and veggies.
Amazing service and such a wonderful atmosphere! The managers are by far one of the most welcoming and passionate group of people, who also go out of their way to make you feel at home
I've been here a couple times and every time the food was great but the waitress ruined the entire experience. Once was for a birthday and the waitress just tried to sell us into a pyramid scheme the entire time, even though we kept politely saying we were not interested. The last time we went the waitress was nice until she took our order (one of the couples was going to share a 4 course meal instead of getting their own).. then she turned sour giving us dirty looks, NEVER coming back to our table, overcharging us on our bill and complaining when we asked for more bread cause we still had tons of cheese fondue left. it really is too bad because it's a fun experience but I will be going to the grizzly house in Banff instead where they have more professional staff.
Fondue to Go is the way to go! in these times! Was our 10th Anniversary ❤️ and I wanted to have a nice dinner that I didn't have to slave over. Romantic dinner for two was perfect! even down to the candles and rose petals. Wine was excellent too!
Fantastic evening. The food is first class and the ambiance is very nice. We were seated in one of the larger celebrating my wife's birthday... all of the other guess to jumped singing her "Happy BDay". I will definitely going again.
I usually love this place and would give it 5 stars but past few times have been like pulling teeth at times. I wanna say I’ve been here about 10-12 times in the past few years and noticed quality staff going down hill. Could look past a couple things but being sat over 30 mins late or not getting the the private table I request well in advance (usually book a month or so in advance) which is fine but when you say you will do something and don’t, it’s irritating. Also, make sure you get a good server...makes a huge difference! I’m not sure if she’s still there or not but request Susan if you can, she’s always great and is very good at what she does. I’m not gonna name the person we had last night but she was awful and there wasn’t much going on upstairs to say the least. I didn’t even want to tip but I didn’t wanna penalize the other staff that did there job properly. I hate bad waitresses/servers and it irritates the hell out of me when they can’t do their job properly, not to mention servers who reach over you when you are eating is not cool. Hopefully it doesn’t go down hill at this place cause 95% of the time I like going here. Need to work on etiquette!!!
Price is high and takes a while to eat a full meal but excellent quality and staff are very friendly and walk you through the process extremely well.
Have been to the melting pot multiple times as a fancy treat with my spouse and we love it. Expensive but amazing food!
An absolutely fantastic experience! My husband and I went for our anniversary and we were so pleased with everything! We shared a 3 course meal, added an extra cheese and chocolate fondue and found it was just perfect for us. Our server Goulette was amazing and explained everything so well. We will certainly be back and hope to bring friends to enjoy the experience with us. This is a must try for any Edmontonian or guests visiting the city!!
Meh. Decent good. Good service. Just ain't my thing for the price.
The service was truely awful. We went for lunch at 1:30PM and didn't leave until nearly 5:30PM. The food itself was great, but with at least 30 minutes in between each course and very small portions every time we needed another plate. At one point we ordered two coffees and were promptly forgotten about. Wouldn't recommend if you're going in order to actually get value for what you pay. I left feeling like I could easily go to McDonalds or something and order a burger.
Really nice treat out. My girls really thought it was quite cool. Will be back.
The food and service were great. If you are bringing younger kids, I recommend bringing entertainment for them as a meal can easily take a couple of hours to enjoy due to the style of eating at these types of restaurant. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 simply because I think the prices are a touch higher than I would expect. Definitely would eat here again.
Absolutely amazing! From the food to the atmosphere to the service! Leave yourself lots of time to enjoy the meal. Flavours are wonderful! 100% recommend going for an amazing meal and an incredible experience! The lunch special was great!
This is probably our favorite restaurants in edmonton. The staff is very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. The portions are large and the food is fresh. It is a bit pricey but well worth the cost. They have a good variety of food options, from meat to vegetarian to sea food most will find a meal to there liking. Its a unique dinning experience. The only negative i can think of is they can occasion run out of stock of your favorite menu item, but thats by no means a deal breaker. I highly recommend checking out this restaurant if you havent already.
Its a place we go to celebrate special occasions. Food is always good, be prepared to be there for a few hours.
amazing service and presentaion if your going with your date or family itll be affortible for what you get was stuffed at the end.
Excellent experience, friendly attentive service from Erin & good food. A delightful first time visit to a fun fondue restaurant!!
Very tasty, good service, but pricey. Definitely fun for a night out for a birthday or a special event, otherwise I wouldn't want to spend that much on a normal night out! But definitely recommend going for the experience and the food
Last I went there the quality of the food is remarkably degraded. I contacted the gust-relation twice and explained to them exactly what was happened but unfortunately no response at all. They don’t appreciate their gusts so it’s not worth to spend a good amount of money there.
This was mine and my boyfriends first experience celebrating our 5 year anniversary and it was fantastic our server Dave was absolutely amazing best server I have ever had
Really fun and delicious ! Good for dates or group events . Absolutely will go back !
Food was awesome as usual. Service was very poor. Dirty plates and glassware took forever to clear. The server was bordering on rude. We asked for a clean spoon because the one she brought was dirty with stuck on food. When she brought the next one she told me to inspect it before she left so that it was up to my standards. We had a different server bring us our dessert. He was great. For the quality And price of the food you would hope that the service would match.
Loaded baked potato for cheese and smores for chocolate. Absolutely scrumptious. Smoked old fashioned is the best old fashioned I had. Strawberry pineapple fizz lacked flavor and tasted watered down.
Great service even better food!
Amazing find. We loved every thing about this place. The food, ambience, staff... everything was top notch. I will definitely recommend this place for a perfect cozy date.
Amazing place to go if your trying to have a romantic night out. We had a reservation so we only had to wait 5 minutes to get seated, the service was amazing our waiter somehow knew when you come over with more food or ask how we were doing. The food was the best I've had in awhile I honestly have no complains :)
We were excited to come to the melting pot as friends had told us it was a great experience. We made reservations for our date night in advance and showed up earlier , we were sat in a high traffic area and not private whatsoever. It wasnt busy so we were disappointed that they sat other groups in our area, the night went on and went to bathroom. 1 out of the 3 stalls was functioning , even when I attempted to flush it wasnt working so I was kind of left surprised.. The only positive thing we enjoyed was the experience of trying something different but dont know if we will be coming back. My fiance had ordered a latte to later find out the machine was broken, I am not sure if management has fallen a bit behind on maintenance but it is definitely not a good sign!
I received an email for a promotion dated February 28th - a four course fondue dinner for only $28 per person!! Wow! What a great offer! I immediately arranged a family dinner. Few hours passed, I got another email saying the offer I received was actually NOT valid and just a miscommunication. What a disappointment! Oh melting pot, get your act together
My wife and I have come here alone for a date night and never have been disappointed. We wanted to come back with our kids but we’re worried how they would do with fondue. The staff at the melting pot made the experience excellent when we went to celebrate my wife’s birthday by making sure we had exactly what we needed and making it a special memory for our kids. It is not cheap but we always come home full and satisfied!
I've been here three times - twice with my wife, and once for a business Christmas party. My experience has been consistent and enjoyable. Very professional staff, a warm environment, and a unique experience. The quality of the fondue has been excellent, particularly the cheeses. I've had the pleasure of sampling five different ones. This is not budget restaurant. You'll be spending $60 per person without drinks. For the amount of meat you get for the main course component of the experience, it's not tremendous value for your dollar. But if you want value, go to Mcdonalds. I would absolutely recommend Melting Pot for either date night or for two or three couples. More than that (our Christmas party) and ordering/sharing gets a little hectic. And it's difficult to visit those on the other side of the table. Still enjoyed ourselves though.
Varying table arrangements make this a great place for anything from romantic dinners for 2 to family gatherings. The food is plentiful and tasty and the atmosphere leaves you time to enjoy your company without feeling rushed.
We arrived for our 9pm reservation, only to be seated at 9:40.... We were blown away with the amazing service from our super delightful waitress. We were more than impressed that the manager made point of acknowledging the time we waited for our table and took measures to make sure they made our first visit was not tainted but the wait.
Fun awesome. Very filling.
Celebrated my anniversary at melting pot. We got the 4 courses set dinner with my husband. Very good cheese fondue and the chocolate fondue. The main meat dishes are so so. Next time I would just come for cheese and chocolate.
It was last year that my husband and I went and had an amazing meal here. We had the couples deal and it was almost too much food for us! So scrumptious! I did have to send a drink back (just wasn't what I was expecting and didn't agree with my tastes) but they were so nice and the drink I then received was delicious! I can't wait to go back again!
The fondue is delicious. Watch for deals or monthly specials, as you can save money or get special fondue. When we went they were very busy, and probably didn't have enough staff for the number of tables. We found we were often waiting for our server and the dinner that was supposed to be 2 hours was 2.5 hours. It let us have more conversation time, so no big deal for us.
My wife chose this place for our anniversary celebration. We were sat in a Cubical by server, which was special & also it gives you privacy (great for couples). If you’re going there for a date/anniversary or any special occasion with your partner I would recommend reserving a cubical spot. I simply loved the aroma, sitting arrangement, food concept, server was so nice. They had couple set menus & normal restaurant menu, what I really loved is you can customize the items on set menus too. It’s great especially for vegetarians when you can remove & add toppings for any dish. Loved 4 course meal. Cheese fondue & dessert fondue was the best part of it. Fondue concept was so new to me, it was so uplifting for me especially flaming the chocolate syrup at last for dessert. We ordered full body Chiraz wine that was so awesome. Loved the entire experience. 100% recommendations for a newbie.
My husband and I are extremely saddened by our terrible experience this past weekend. We have gone to melting pot every year for our Anniversary and it is always amazing. The same cannot be said about this recent trip. First off we were late being seated even though we had a reservation after waiting in their small waiting area and were the last to be seated even though we were early. Then they sat us at a table for a family in the bar area, despite being asked upon reservation and several times before seating if it was a special occasion. The table is awful as everyone is walked right beside us, the opposite of romantic like our usual experiences have been. Our waitress was lovely, very polite but extremely forgetful as everytime she came to the table she had forgotten something. And splash guards might be a thought as she was quite messy splashing hot liquids all over the table on every course. The food was great as it always is, perhaps the server should ask if you like hot sauce before adding so much before you can say anything though. Our drinks arrived 10 minutes after our food which would have been fine (despite being in the bar) if my drink hadn't melted all over the cup leaving it impossible to drink before it was even served to us. Overall terrible experience and will have to think very hard about keeping our tradition and returning ever again which is very upsetting.
The girlfriend and I came here the other day just for fun and had a great time. We did the all you can eat deal they have for Sundays because the place is pretty expensive and wanted to get value for our dollar. The cheese course was amazing. The server started us with double the cheese, which was smart because we still ran out of cheese before we ran out for dippers, so the server knew her stuff. The salad course was kind of plain. the girlfriend informed me I ordered the boring salad, but to be fair, I didn't go to a fondue place for the salad so I wasn't dissapoited by any means. We ordered the mojo broth for the main course and were very happy with it. It's the one the server recommended, so again, she knew her stuff. Now from what I understand when you go with four people you don't get a bigger pot, so I think 2 people is the optimal group size. 4 people would have an awful lot of forks in that pot and I think you'd be using the "search and rescue spoon" a lot. For your dippers you can request specific ones you want more of too if you have favourites or have some you don't like and don't want more of. If you have a sweet tooth you'd love the chocolate course. I don't know if you NEED to dip a brownie in melted chocolate but dang was it good. I think i was turned off sugar for a day or two afterwards but the girlfriend sure wasn't because she finished off the leftover chocolate sauce with a spoon. I was almost going to give 4 stars, because I think it's a little expensive. I mean you go to an Asian hot pot which is essentially the same idea and it's almost half the price. But you get three and a half courses here so the price is sort of justified. the atmosphere is more "fine dining" than a hot pot too. Expect to spend at LEAST 2 hours here. Also you probably won't eat anything for like 20-30 minutes after you show up, just because you cook it yourself doesn't mean it's super quick.
Had a reservation for a friend’s surprise birthday party last night for 6:30 for 13 people. To start off the evening, said friend showed up at 6:45 to all 11 of us still waiting in the lobby, and we still weren’t seated until 5 after 7. Next, it took over 30 minutes to get our drinks, which didn’t get any quicker as the night went on. 10:30 rolls around and we all ask for our bills, it took over an hour to get them right as we were BEYOND over charged. My boyfriend and I were on one bill, and we shared our meal with another couple, but somehow had been charged 6 times for one pot of cheese. A bill that should have only been just over $100 somehow ended up being $222, we were over charged so bad. To top it all off, before we were seated the entire table was promise 10% off for ruining the surprise by not having us seated on time. Which was NOT on our bills when they came. We also were forced into $50 tips as the “gratuities” for the absolute worse service of our lives. It took 4 times to finally get our bills right and hadn’t ended up leaving the restaurant until 11:30. Highly unlikely I’ll ever be back at this location, we all left very very unhappy and unsatisfied.
Amazing is all I can say! Definitely is a "big night out" the whole thing takes quite a while (we were there for three hours) but it is worth every single second! Value was fantastic as well! Can't wait to go back!
Great food and great service! Lalanga offered great table service to my wife and I even though initially we were the furthest thing from chatty as we were going through a tough time. He was attentive and courteous even though I'm sure our table was likely the hardest to read as far as our needs were concerned. The manager (wish I had his name to highlight here as well) went the extra mile for us after our own error spoiled some of our food. These are not things I or most anyone should expect from any server or restaurant. I'm bringing this up to highlight that there are some restaurants out there that can indeed make the difference in a family's evening and when you see or experience it, they deserve to know that the little things they do, really do have an impact on the lives of others. The food was fantastic! My wife adores "The Classic" under their entree fondue section and I felt the meat (having ordered the same), was excellent! I wish the staff an excellent New Year and I hope if you've read this far, you can help them enjoy a wonderfully successful 2022 by allowing them to provide you an amazing night out!
The service was really excellent. The explanation of the menu and the options was really great. My wife has some food allergies that made our cooking selection limited to oil fondue for the entree which wouldn't have been our preference and limited dips. The oil was very "splashy" while cooking which lead to a couple of ouch moments for my wife and daughter. Certainly not ideal. We mentioned it to our server and he was great and really responsive by monitoring the temperature for us and adjusted our final bill to accommodate. The bill adjustment was not necessary and was surprisingly appreciated. The cheese and the chocolate were great. If it hadn't been for the oil experience, would have rated this higher.
One off the owner he is a bit off Racist when it comes to color people Yesterday he make a really bad joke with me Customer service is very poor
After waiting 15 min for a server we opted to leave. The place was very dirty, it was so dark it was hard to see all the filth. Children are forced order from the adult menu which made it very expensive. Very disappointed
To begin, it would be advisable for you to make a reservation on OpenTable - this helps save you some wait time during peak periods. My girlfriend & I had our anniversary dinner here and it was the most intimate and engaging romantic dinner we’ve ever had in Edmonton. Our waitress was polite and patiently explained the menu to us multiple times (the menu looked so complicated lol). Even though we only had Entrees and Chocolate fondue, I could barely walk after dining because my the meal was so filling. Overall, it was an amazing experience & we will definitely return for more :)
We have been to this restaurant quite a few times in the last year. The first few times they made our cheese fondue right at the table and the food tasted great, however during the last year or so they serve it pre-made from the kitchen. The cheese fondue is always served way too cold. We have to manually adjust the temperature under the table to try to get it hotter so it's not just one big glob of cheese. Now they set the fondue pot down and walk away. While during our first few visits if they did come out with the fondue pre-made from the kitchen they would at least add the final ingredients at the table and then stir and adjust the temperature accordingly before saying it's ready. The wait times for drinks and food is outrageous, make sure you order all your drinks as soon as possible as it takes them 45 minutes to bring you a glass of wine or beer every time it's ordered. The service is also not professional, we had a party of 4 people and they brought us our main course almost an hour before they brought out the main course for our friends. It's common sense and courtesy to always serve the food for everyone at the table at the same time. If we had waited the hour for our friends food to arrive our fondue would of burned off by the time their food came. So by the time they got their main course we had been ready to move onto desert for almost an hour. After ordering desert it's another 40 minutes before it arrives, needless to say that by that time everyone at the table wasn't hungry anymore. This is on a weekend and the restaurant is at less then 50 percent capacity so one would assume the service to be a lot quicker. I would of given it more then 1 star it if wasn't for the cleanliness of the bathrooms. I have been to very public gas station bathrooms that were way cleaner then theirs. It's been in such a state every time we have ate there. There's an old saying that you can always judge the cleanliness of the kitchen by the state of the bathrooms, if that's true then it would frighten me to take a look at the kitchen. We won't be going back again.
Amazing food. Stuffed when we left..
I used to love going to The Melting Pot - then I found out that they don’t pay out their staff in a timely manner. Some are still waiting for money since the outbreak! Bad management!
Good atmosphere, fondue is good and you spend 3 hours gorging almost non-stop. Only problem for me is it gets pricy... 150 for 2 people with 2 drinks and a 4 courses (cheese, small salad or soup, meat, dessert). But you do leave very very full and satisfied. Great for special occasion as we go yearly for my partner's birthday.
So, where to start?! Reservations at 8:30 on a Monday night. Get there and get seated right away, good start. Cheese came fairly quick, first round of drinks came out, and then it goes down hill from there. We waited 45 minutes after we were done with cheese for it to be cleared, and then it still wasn't from our waiter (who completed disappeared). The cheese was waiting for so long it was burnt and hard. We asked for more drinks and waited for our salads and soup. Salads came out about 10 minutes later with no soup. About 10 minutes after that out waiter finally appears and notices no soup. Apologizes and says soup will be out right away. Meanwhile we see our drinks sitting at the bar, made, but not being served. Once soup comes out we ask if we can have our drinks that have been sitting at the bar for 15 minutes. Salad and soup, great. About half hour after we finally get our entree! Great! All goes well, food was good, no issues! So about 20 minutes after we are done with entree our chocolate comes out. Great! Nope, cold chocolate! We suck it up and continue, at this point we just wanna go home. Meanwhile the restaurant has already closed. Waiter appears and asks if we want anything else, nope, bills please! Oh about 15 minutes later the bill arrives, keep in mind restaurant has been closed for atleast a half hour by now and not only customers but employees have depleted! So not only was one bill wrong, but all 3. Of course he left us and once he returned we had to point this out. Apologies and off he goes with all bills to correct mistake, 10 minutes later he returns! Finally!!! The end is in sight! We pay and quickly get on our way, never to return again!!
My sister and I attended for ladies night. The drinks were slow to arrive but our server kept checking on us and the drinks. They allowed us to change the cheese fondue in the set menu due to a preference. With the exception of one bad strawberry, all the food was fresh and good. The roasted red pepper bisque was exceptional. I would prefer additional blanched vegetable options in the future.
I've been to the melting pot multiple times but never during the "all you can eat" fondue nights. Last night, my boyfriend and I went and the service was pretty embarrassing. Our waiter dropped both our fork and knives which was alright in the beginning but then proceeded to drop a container filled with sauce all over the floor. Although it was quite comical, it was still disappointing. With being a busy time, we expected to have to wait longer than normal but it took 45 minutes for our waiter to come back and check on us. We ended up needing refills of our water and had to wait half an hour for a refill. Then after the entree, it took 30 minutes for our table to be cleaned. It was half started and then our waiter disappeared. Based on my experience last night, I would have given it 2 stars but since our other experiences were great, I've rated it a 3. Spend the extra money and don't go during all you can eat. Very disorganized.
A Fun & Exciting Experience, Good Service. Our Service was Fabulous, always attended to our needs. Thanks Made Our Night.
Been here a few times, tonight the service was terribly slow. We had to wait forever just to get a Diet Pepsi, the cheese and chocolate are always good, but the meat course is nothing special. I don’t see the point in marinating meat when it all gets cooked to the same flavour anyway, the only variations in flavour come from the dips. Thinking I won’t be going back again, for the $ there are far to many options in this city.
Absolutely amazing experience every time we go. We always bring visiting family and friends. Great interactive meal!
Amazing Place, great food great service. First of all they have Guinness on tap, win, and kronenberg. The food selection is quite wide, I went there with my buddy and his wife who’s a vegetarian. For the amount of choices you get we all left quite full and quite satisfied ! 10/10 would recommend and go back. Minty place ????????
