The food was excellent and so was the service. Highly recommend this place.
Dinner
We tried the 3 course menu as part of the taste for adventure festival here in November. The prime short rib was my favourite followed by the crime brûlée for dessert. Service was pretty good on a busy night. The ambience is calm and inviting for a fine dining experience.
Really delicious! Highly recommend the tartar and the old fashioned. They bring the kids food quick - and they are big portions. Great atmosphere especially on the patio when it is nice out. Great for a date or for a family.
First in Banff and really loved this place. It was late and we needed some food and most places were full and not accepting guest. They accommodated us and gave a table under the moose really made my trip to banff magical.
food was out of this world to try had a 3 course meal and the dessert was the best thing I had some bread pudding. it did not disappoint. the maple leaf is a bit more on a pricier side of things and the atmosphere would be a great place for a date night
Great experience and food is fantastic. The best restaurant during my trip to Banff and Jasper. Cowboy steak is a must try. You may need to reserve if it’s busy.
We went to The Maple Leaf for brunch and really enjoyed our meal. The spiced French toast is perfection for any pumpkin spice fan like me! Bonus- it comes with candied pecans, berries and maple syrup. My husband had the Eggs Benny and the hollandaise sauce was delicious. The restaurant was clean and the service was excellent!
This is a dining experience. Experienced wait staff Ensure that you are informed whinformed when picking the food off off the menu. I had steak and it was perfectly cooked. The interior of the restaurant is charming. There are several great menu options to choose from. When I'm back in Banff I will definitely return.
Dine in
Great service and excellent burger. The patio was pet-friendly and they gave us a pillow for the dog. My friends loved the steak. This was the best burger I’ve had in Banff.
Great service, great beers, great decor :) But if the fish and Chips is clearly enough for 2, I hope you love the taste because the batter is so thick and loaded with oil that it took my wife and I around 8 hours to digest it... I'm sure the burger was great tho.
Had brunch here on Christmas eve and was happy they were able to accommodate us since we were a party of 9 and restrictions were set in place again. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Will dine here again.
We were actually walking past to head to another establishment when we noticed The Maple Leaf. Poked our heads in to see if a table was available without a reservation and the Hostess was able to seat us right away. Food was amazing, bit on the pricey end but not unexpected seeing as we were dining during peak ski season. Hostess and waitress were very polite and easy to deal with. Great environment and top shelf food and drink.
We stopped here on a whim on our way out of Banff and were not disappointed!! I find that whenever visiting Banff, service can be really hit or miss however both the Host and Server were super friendly and kind here and made the experience really nice. It has a very Canadian-esque vibe inside and feels like you are having brunch in a log cabin which is very on brand for Banff. Coffee wasn’t stellar however I highly recommend the salmon benny. Overall great experience and can’t wait to stop in the next time we are in town.
will come back highly recommend
I have been to the Maple Leaf about 10 times over the past 10 years. I have come with my husband and girl friends when we were able to when visiting Banff. This is the first time I have been able to bring the kids with us and the first restaurant we have been inside to dine since covid restrictions began in March 2020. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was beautiful as always, impeccably clean, plexiglass barriers between tables and tables well distanced from each other. The staff was friendly and our server was great. The menu has changed quite a bit. There is more seafood on the menu if that’s your favourite you will be thrilled. The kids menu only has 4 items on it, I’m sure there aren’t many kids eating at the Maple Leaf but it would be nice if there were a couple more options for kids, even a little fruit or veggie platter that could be an appetizer. My kids loved their food though. I have one bone to pick and it’s pretty serious. The creme brûlée trio is off the menu! Why?!? Honestly, there is still creme brûlée on the menu but it’s just one big one…it was good but there was something really fun about the creme brûlée trio. It is the reason I come to the Maple Leaf. When you talk to people who love creme brûlée that live in Alberta and visit Banff people always talk about the creme brûlée trio from the Maple Leaf. The different flavours and the fact that you could share those with the people at your table and pick which flavour was your favourite of the trio. Please bring back the creme brûlée trio.
Amazing energy, fantastic menu and excellent drinks. If you are in Banff, it's a must. You will not regret coming here, definitely worth your time! Cannot wait to go back!
We held our wedding dinner at The Maple Leaf a few weeks ago, and am I ever glad we did! The food was phenomenal and the service was superb! I had been in contact with Hayley from the Banff Hospitality Collective for months prior to our wedding, and she was prompt and thorough when answering all of my questions and assisting in organizing the event. We rented The Wine Room, and there was one long table set up down the middle of it - perfect for our group of 15! All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, but our server Emily was amazing and provided wonderful service for our private function! Choosing the menu that worked for our group was easy and there was a great variety of wines to choose from for our wine list. The menu and food was delicious! From appetizers, to the three course meal, there was plenty of options and everything on the menu was 5 star quality. Everyone in our group raved about the food for the entire weekend! We are so grateful for such a wonderful experience at The Maple Leaf, and I hope that we can make a new tradition of making our anniversary dinner there every year! Thank you to the entire team at The Maple Leaf - we will be seeing you again soon!!
Made it in just before it got busy! Amazing breakfast!
Sat down for a breakfast at the end of a long road trip and was absolutely smitten with the small town vibe. Our host, Mark, was attentive, timely, and quick with the humour. Kinda made the morning. My daughter’s Eggs Benedict and my poached eggs were fantastic. Definitely want to return and try them for dinner. Highly recommended. In a town with an avalanche of dining choices, this one blew me away. Thanks, Mark, and your kitchen staff, for the memorable breakfast.
We had lunch today. My wife had the seafood clam chowder which she enjoyed very much (her words), and I had the lobster sandwich. It was delicious; a generous amount of lobster in a bread (I believe it was ciabatta) very fresh. Very friendly service, and very modern environment. And last, but not least, a very reasonable bill. Couldn't ask for more.
Place was great for brunch. Dining area is very comfortable and spacious with a nice view of the outdoors. Food was quite filling and tasted very good. Good service from the servers. Price is fair for food purchased.
Was fantastic to find a place that had breakfast at 330pm on a Sunday! Very comfortable seating and staff were great.
The Alberta cowboy steak was one of the best steaks I’ve had, portions were huge and the meat was super tender.
Went here for dinner and ordered the scallops, cowboy steak, and creme brûlée. Each dish was absolutely amazing and did not disappoint. Totally worth your money and service is very friendly as well. 1000/10 would recommend.
As always delicious food and great atmosphere. The wine list is intimidating as it is so vast. Don't come here often enough but the Taste for Adventure menu drew me back and reminded me how awesome this place is, so will be back again soon.
Absolutely incredible. We had the rib-eye steak, the hazelnut halibut and the crab artichoke dip to start. Absolutely phenomenal. Service was amazing. Cannot wait to come back!
Just a nice cozy place to have lunch or dinner when in the town of Banff. Our last visit was on a day trip to Banff, we had a birthday lunch to celebrate my dads birthday. I requested the table by the fireplace, it is hidden away in the back! We come here often, try their ceasars
definitely recommend Alberta cowboy steak & duck wings Warm service, cozy environment. Hopefully we can come back again try the AAA steak, heard that good as well
Great service & food.
The Maple Leaf hosted our son and daughter-in-law’s wedding dinner in one of their private rooms. What an amazing night! Great food, awesome attentive service from management and staff. Everyone was brilliant with a special thank you to Jackie who made the night truly special. I can’t thank you all enough for taking such great care of us!
Amazing food and service.. this is the full package... great wine selection..will eat here again!!
From start to finish, each dish and cocktail was absolutely delicious for myself and the entire party I dined with. High compliments to the chef.
The best experience so far in Banff! Food is amazing, service outstanding and the ambience just perfect.
Great spot for Brunch in Banff Everything was clean and the dinning room was spacious. Service was good and all the food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. …
everything was on point, surf and turf us amazing
Great dog friendly patio. Loved the bison short ribs.
The restaurant is a beautiful gem in Banff. The food was absolutely delicious. I can't believe in all the years I've been visiting here that it took me this long to dine here. We were very pleased with the presentation and the taste was fabulous. Portion size was great. The chef needs to be complimented on the flavour profiles. Service was fantastic and friendly. I can't wait to come back!
Extremely SLOW service.. 48 minutes on clock!!! Food is less than average. Worst fries and burger i have ever had! Also my friend ordered steak as medium rare it came as blue. With the price they are charging and slow service that we got this place is absolutely not worth coming. Hope authorities understand what customers are trying to say. Even table beside us their salmon was not cooked well. Not good at all.
The Maple Leaf is a staple of the Banff restaurant scene. If you’re visiting town, this place should definitely be on your restaurant list. I’ve been for both breakfast and dinner twice and everything has been delicious every time. The meat has been perfectly cooked every time and there is always great flavour. The staff are always happy to help and it certainly has more of a fine dining feel to it which is nice. The coffee with breakfast has been great too. During summer, the outdoor patio was so lovely and I’ll miss that but inside is lovely and cosy. Definitely recommend for a special dinner or brunch in town.
Service
Lives upto to every expectation! We went in with the expectation of ordering the much talked about ‘lobster tail’… but learnt they have a new menu now. So, instead we ordered the Crab cakes, Cowboy steak and the asparagus and crab dip with corn chips… The crab cakes were probably the most flavourful we’ve ever had. Would highly recommend ordering and savouring it. While the steak was good, the dip and chips were just average. We had the most wonderful server and host- Jacky. Making the best suggestions and was very attentive to our needs and preferences. For us, the service topped the food- which is the best thing in a tourist driven town.
This place is great! The staff is really friendly. The food is pretty good and their price is also 100%worth it. Absolutely the best meal we had while in Banff
Great service. Our group loved every meal. Tenderloin was the favorite though.
Warm and cheerful restaurant. There is a moose head by the fireplace towards back of the seating area. Good photo opportunity, especially for kids. My wife and I ordered the benchmark burger. It was delicious, but not extraordinary. Staff was very attentive and timely to get food out. Would come here again.
Our server was from Wales. He was so helpful with the menu and his sense of humor made our visit enjoyable. The tenderloin I ordered was cooked perfect. If you visit Banff, this is the place to go!
Was hungry and decided to stop in for a meal. It was brunch time. Service was exceptional, food was fantastic. Very impressive. Often tourist places are average because they don’t depend on repeat clients. This place is impressive, enjoyed every moment.
The food is always on point everytime I have been to the Maple Leaf. Very good service and friendly staff. Was a bit of a wait to get in as Banff was quite busy, but they worked to quickly get us a table.
We had high expectations for this restaurant as we were going for our anniversary dinner and when we got there we were greeted with some proseco which was quite nice. We ordered our meals which happen to be both be the halibut dinners that were supposed to come with butternut squash, gnocci and a lovely sauce but instead it came with very Rooty asparagus. Asparagus that was so hard you could almost not chew it or swallow it, as if it was the ends that were supposed to be thrown away. I wasn't sure why they made this substitution but it was awful. The whole dish (although it may have looked good) was lacking seasoning and tasted like a watered down sauce. For the price of 44$ per plate, this was not worth it at all.
Pros: - The Haywire, The Bub wine was amazing. - The burger had balanced components and was cooked well. - Friendly host and staff. Cons: - Burger & fries were over salted. - Chowder lacked flavor.
I personally won’t be returning soon, but if you think black pepper is an exotic and fried onions are an adventurous foray into contemporary cuisine, you’ll be in heaven. It was just okay. We had the bison short rib and the rib eye. Neither were exceptional, and for a combined $120 for the mains alone, I was hoping for great food. The uninspired plating had a “1st year culinary student cooks dinner at home to impress their parents who don’t get out much” flair to it, and both the meats lacked seasoning. Potatoes were awesome, though!
Their wild maple BC salmon & prawn is ♡. We customized our order to remove beurre blanc, which they happly did. Thanks to them. The hostess was so good and service was excellent. 100% recommend this place is must to visit.
Food was good. The service was good but the wait time was over 40 minutes to get main course on the table. The bathrooms were not clean enough for this class of restaurant…
Amazing breakfast you get in Banff. Delicious one with great customer service
The food is deeply satisfying, perfectly seasoned and cooked, and smells so amazing even the staff swing by to check out their own dishes! The staff are very friendly, helpful, and warm. Highly recommend! Photos from the Taste for Adventure menu.
We had a larger group and enjoyed the Taste for Adventure special menu at The Maple Leaf. Though the soup we had was a little under seasoned, that would be our only minor reservation of an otherwise outstanding dining experience in Banff! The portion sizes were incredibly generous, the Bison short rib entree was a huge hit (deliciously tender, seasoned to perfection and accompanied with a wealth of delicious side dishes), the risotto was rich and creamy… and even the desserts (which we barely had room for), were presented beautifully and big enough to share if you’d like. Thank you for an amazing meal!
I know that some people say explore ... but this is an EVERY TIME AT BANFF restaurant. Every. Time! Outstanding service. Unbelievable food. Exceptional choices for drinks. From atmosphere to final bite of dessert, this place is among the best restaurants I've been to in our country. Going to Banff? Go. To. The. Maple. Leaf.
Meal type
I love Maple Leaf! Always a great time, foods always fresh and fantastic, not to mention the atmosphere!!! I had the Maple Burger this time, love the seasoned fries, and the burger ingredients are a perfect pair. Will definitely come back, hope to see some new menu items next visit.
