Always love eating here. My favorite Cora restaurant! Ordered Honkin Beef Rib this time, it was a little small for the price. My server, without my asking, had the kitchen cook another smaller rib to make up for it. Our server was ontop of our drinks and was incredibly friendly. Will be back and I hope my rib is too small again!

We ordered take out during the pandemic. The order was made right on time. Pickup took a minute. One phone call and the order was right at the door. We had ordered the 2pc fish and chips and a chicken bowl. Both were delicious and very satisfying. Great job!! We will be back for the ribs! ☺️

food was great. i was served a drink with a chip in the glass. this is extremely dangerous as i wasn't sure if the chip of glass was in my drink or not. not sure i would order a mixed drink from them again. beers okay though.

I'll make it shortand sweet. Went here with my gf for a nice dinner. Most of our food was excellent except for the 12 hour roasted dish. It was awful. I would stick to burgers, nachos. They were amazing.

Ordered online and it said 301pm pick up time I got there with my two year old hoping to get our food and had to sit in the bar with my kid for 45 more mins before my food was ready! And it was gross and over cooked... I paid 66 dollers for dried up ribs with no sauce... Horrible service don’t order online and wonder who cooks ribs so dry they use to be good here!

We always enjoy the food and service here but our experience last night was particularly note worthy. I had ordered the firecracker burger but only taken one bite before packing it up as I was full. We had our two kids with us, one being a newborn, so I completely forgot my takeout in an effort to ensure I grabbed his diaper bag and belongings. When I realuzed this is was about an hour later and I was so upset because it's a near $20 meal and I had really only eaten fries. My hubby called and asked about the container but they had thrown it out (which I understand, but I was still upset) so they agreed to make me a new burger and hubby picked it up. I know they weren't obligated to do this so I was both grateful and impressed with the service. The bill had been nearly $100 with the tip so it wasn't exactly a cheap night and I appreciate that my money didn't go to waste. Will definitely be back!

My Steak came out medium when asked for rare. Waited for them to come see me then waited 10min for a new one to come out. By the time they brought it out I had already finished the sides as I was hungry. They brought a new steak out on a side plate instead of replacing the entire meal like most places would . My friend was pretty much finished his meal by the time I got the replacement steak. kinda of ruined the dinner experience. . The manager Could of offered a discount on the meal for their screw but she didn’t . When u spend 50$ for steak and and appetizer I would expect to eat my meal At the same time as everyone else at the table. I would go somewhere else next time. Mediocre steak too.

My wife and I go to Montana's almost every Friday evening for dinner, this has been something we have don't for decades, yes, decades, maybe not always Montanas. This location had recently gone through some extended renovations and to be honest, since they have reopened a few weeks ago, we have been more than satisfied, the food has been great and hot every time. We have had other guest with us and they have also commented the same. I know this is not all equipment related. This goes to the management and mostly all new staff at this location. We want to do a big shout out to our server (several time) Atlanta for her exceptional service and the GM Alex, who always takes the time to stop by and talk to us. Great job to everyone

We came on Halloween after 7, so it was dead quiet (haha), which suited me - I was glad to have a peaceful meal while I watched a hockey game. The server was dressed as a bee, and was nice and quick. Our food came very quickly, and they tried to accommodate for my dietary restrictions, but it turns out they pre-sauce the ribs so couldn't make me a salt&pepper rub version (I think Montana's in Winnipeg has done that for me in the distant past). I chose to cheat (which I rarely do - sorry, Dr. - I was tired and hungry and had travelled far) and they helped me out by at least not adding more sauce, and I could scrape off some of the sugar/modified corn syrup-filled "honey garlic". It tasted great! I really enjoyed a quiet Montana's - I'm used to lots of noisy chatter. Maybe I'll have to eat out on Halloween more often...

Had a great 50th birthday lunch with friends. Love the soup/salad & sandwich menu. The tomatoe soup is devine! Our server was Nicole, she was super pleasant and quick. Great smile!! One problem is we sat right behind the hostess table and darn near froze to death with the door opening and closing. Need to do something about that!!

Went here for dinner tonight . food came out cold both the ribs were stone cold and the paper thin chicken was ice cold . also ordered the all you can eat fajitas every plate that came out less and less shrimp on the plate .. The management in this location is absolute mess.The management especially the General Manager at this restaurant did not care about employees.Lack of knowledge on how to run a business.Lots of people quit because of her.Very rude and very unprofessional.Labor hours were cut down and the place was filthy because of it.Not enough workers on the floor which lead to having a heavier workload. The managers will cut your hours even you only work for 30 to 40 minutes. My acquaintance in airdrome who work there now is complaining about her hours.She works afternoon till past midnight and the manager will only put her 6 hours of working instead of 8 to 9 hours of working. And told her that She will hit overtime if they will put the right number of hours she work.Terrible place to work!

Well after leaving kelseys with a very rude and horrible experience we decided to go to Montanas. Let me tell you, we weren’t even in the door 30 seconds and they were already taking our info down for seating. We sat down, had a great waitress, super friendly, polite, happy. Ordered our food and drinks and had an excellent experience. Food was amazing. I definitely recommend the chicken apple pecan salad. For one who enjoys his steaks and ribs, this salad was incredibly flavourful, and filling!! My wife had a rib dinner with same excellent result. We will be choosing this place over the others any day!!

Went here with the family for the first time... we had an awful experience start to finish. We never got our app, never got offered or were delivered water and my 2 year old daughter wasnt even given a plate. Awaited the waitress to check in but after a 20 mins waiting we decided to pay our bill and leave this establishment. First and last visit for us! Common sense is now rare apparently.

One word. Ratchet. Worst place ever. Where do I begin.... The service was disgusting. I've been a manager for customer service for over 12 years.... Someone isn't doing their job we got seated. Waitress took 20 minutes to pour 2 glasses of wine not sure if she had to go stomp the grapes herself. Then she dropped off our drinks and took our orders..... Didn't see her once until it was time to pay the bill.... Sad. My friend and I were sat at a tall table. The taller tables were so close together we could hardly get in. Ridiculously cramped. I ordered a blue rare steak. It came back medium rare...... Not what I paid for. The presentation looks like something a dog threw up. Avoid this place if you can. I was told by some locals afterwords that it's one of the worst restaurants in town. I've been told Mr Mike's is exceptional. So I will be checking it out during my stay. Would give it less than 1 star if I could. Terrible in every metric

Usually very happy with food and service, but tonight was another story. Food took over 40 minutes to get to our table, server never checked in saying there would be a delay. Food was lukewarm when it arrived. We sat and watched other tables seated after us get their food before ours came out. It didn’t seem terribly busy but maybe takeout made the kitchen slower. Definitely will make us think again before coming back.

Birthdays are celebrated with a very loud birthday song, noisemakers and a helmet with moose antlers. That’s not something I enjoy, however some people really like this feature. It’s up to you to decide if this is a pro or con. Just know it is likely to happen more than once during your meal on a busy night. Everyone at my table seemed to enjoy their meals. My soup was good but way too salty. Our waitress was friendly and attentive during our dinner.

Best ribs in town when they don’t over reheat them. You can taste the smoke. Typical Montana’s. just hope you get a good server and the kitchen is on par for the night. Been to lots and they all have their off nights. All around we are mainly happy with FSJ’s.

Extremely slow service, low energy with staff as if they did not want to be there, no effort made to do the traditional Montana's birthday announcement for my 7 year old. Food was of poor quality. Floors sooooo extremely sticky throughout the establishment that my sandle got stuck on the floor when mention to staff response was "we know" then dismissed. Extremely dissatisfied all around hope it is only the Montana's in Ancaster Golf Links location that is so terrible in management, staff, cleanliness, and food. Was embarrassed that I had to subject my family and guests to this experience.

I was looking for a place to go for dinner and I made a really big mistake by choosing Montana's. It's not the first time that I am dissapointed by the poor quality of the service, but this time the wait was even worst than what I experienced in the past. I stood up around 5-6 minutes at the entrance and nobody came to greet me, there was only a party of 4 seated at a table. It was around 4:30. So, I walked towards the back and asked the waitress "Can I sit anywhere?" she was working by herself she said. Lucky for them I didn't leave. She came and I ordered right away. It took over 40 minutes before getting my ribs. Food was good. Nobody came to check if I was missing anything, and nobody took my plate away at the end. I waited on the bill for about 20. So I decided to stand up and finally someone came with the machine. They should hire more staff, that place is really not well managed.

Ordered the trio for the 2nd time in 2 visits. First time fantastic. 2nd time not so much. Couldn't cut my chicken breast as it was scorched black on one side and it was dry. Ribs were great. Shrimp was good as well. My husband's plate came out luke warm. When we told our waitress about it she said that there were new cooks in the kitchen and some of them just couldn't cook that well. Well THAT would have been good to know ahead of time..could have saved ourselves $80

I placed an online order and paid with my SCENE points and the rest on my credit card. The order was not received in FSJ office but I showed the Manager, Dallas, my confirmation number and she promptly got the order made. From our brief conversation, she told me it was her first day as a manager and I thought she handle the situation very beautifully. It could have easily been an unhappy story if I hadn't received my order. In addition, the chef (I could not catch his name) was equally as understanding and made sure I was taken care of. Kudos on the people you have in FSJ.

Ours, I only short it by 1 due to a complaint most people always have going to nice places LOL prices are a little high, but for the food that you get sometimes it does even out, my girlfriend and I have recently started a keto / low carb diet and this is turned out to be one of our most favorite places to venture to get some food the tastes, portions as well as style the food of always so far been out of this park

Great place. I visited this restaurant many times in my days. This building especially is always quick to adapt to the needs of the city and provide what is needed. They're a good sturdy business will be here a long time. As for the food? excellent, absolutely wonderful. The service is great, the food is great, it's all wonderful. They have some very interesting drink choices at the moment that are quite quite good.

We went to Montanas on Ottawa Street in Kitchener for an Easter family dinner.Three of our family member ordered the buttermilk fried chicken meal.This was the worst meal ever.The chicken was overcooked,dried out and tough.It was almost impossible to cut with a knife.The vegetables were undercooked.All three family members encountered the same terrible meal.Service was great.As for restaurant cleaniness I would give it three stars out of five.

Finally got a seat, service was extremly slow, our plates came out barely warm, I guess it's due to the waitress and not the kitchen. Ribs were also stiff.. This place is great normally do inside dining here with my fiance. Have to take 1 star off because the chef forgot to toss the wings in any wing sauce ( ordered hot ) there online website does not give a option to mention any special requests that would be handy I could have left a note saying I want the wings tossed extra sauce.. Absolute joke of a restaurant. I have never in my life been so disappointed with going out to eat lunch. Me and my fiancé came in expecting to wait a little while since we noticed it was a little short staffed which for a Saturday they really should not have been. It took 20 minutes for our waitress to come over and order our drinks, which never ended up coming because after close to an hour and a lot of "it'll be out in 2 minutes" we decided that enough is enough and we left. Management should be ashamed of the complete lack of planning that led to this experience. All in all I will never set foot in another Montanas or CARA associated restaurant in my life.

Not very impressed. Took nearly 45 minutes to get our food, place was half empty, and half the food was wrong when it arrived. Between that and the lack of smiles or personality our server had, it just wasn't a pleasant experience. Not to mention bringing or 1 year olds food out last and it was piping hot so we needed to wait another 10 minutes to serve it to him. On the plus side I guess the manager tried to make up for what he can tell was an obvious bad visit by discounting and giving us a $20 voucher

Update: Had a lunch there again a few days ago. Good food as usual and much better service than last year (no food dumped on my lap this time!) All in all, a more positive experience. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- June 2018: Food and service is great provided you're lucky enough to get a good server. I wasn't so lucky, so I ended up with burned ribs on my plate that I had to send back, and a bowl of coleslaw dumped on my lap that I had to clean. To make it worse, the server didn't clean the mess she made under my feet, so we were left to do it ourselves. On a positive note, the manager returned with a decent plate of ribs. However, I am not sure that he was informed about the coleslaw incident.

I understand if a restaurant gets "slammed" at dinner time with a flood of orders, but if you patiently wait over an HOUR for your food and it comes out COLD, then there is something really wrong in the kitchen. The waitress never explained what was happening to our entire section of tables waiting for food throughout the hour wait, nor did a manager ever come by. Worst customer service ever to deal with what was the worst food service ever. Will never go back.

Don’t go here! We waited two and a half hours for our food! The service was horrible so we notified the manager, and she completely cut us off! We didn’t even have cutlery on the table, we had to put away our own menus, and we didn’t even get a discount. It was my Mother’s birthday and my Grandmas birthday, and they didn’t get any dessert or special offers. Our food was cold, and we waited ten minutes for our drinks, and about 5 tables came in and walked out within a half an hour! This restaurant served horrible service, the waiters and managers were rude, and the food wasn’t even hot.

Tonight, yet again my food is stone cold and I got about 10 fries with my burger and no gravy that I asked for on the side. Went to this restaurant to celebrate both my parents birthdays this weekend. Overall, it was a good experience. We were able to order our drinks promptly, and our food came out within half an hour of ordering. My steak was cold and not cooked the way I asked, but everyone else said their meals were good. The waitress came by frequently -almost too much- and made sure we were content. The only thing that ruined the experience was that I had asked our waitress if they could sing happy birthday -as they normally do at montanas- she agreed but they never came. We paid and left. I'm very excited that Montanas is opening back up in Medicine Hat.

It was very good food. The atmosphere was very lively. I sat in the lounge with my husband. If you go to Montana's, you definitely go for the ribs. I love the apple butter barbecue sauce, it is my absolute favourite. The service was good, despite the bar being busy when we went, and the food was also delicious. It was a little loud in the lounge when we went. Still, I would definitely go back. They can cure any craving for ribs. The wings are also delicious.

Went there tonight on a date with my boyfriend. The food was great! But service wasnt the greatest.. When we first arrived we both asked for a vodka lime water. The server brought us straight vodka and water with a second glass of pure lime juice. Never in my life have I seen someone do that. The server was quiet and hard to hear. She gave off the vibe that she didn't wanna be there and tried to deal with us fast. When I asked her for the cheque and she came to takw our payment she didn't say a word. She set the machine and cheque down on the edge of the table and walked away and said something to quiet to hear. So I paid my bill and left before she came back... Great food. But it kinda seemed like it was everyone's first day ever working in a service industry.

They do, if you ask politely, sing happy birthdays to individuals if it's their birthday. The whole experience was a nightmare We went there for dinner around 2 weeks ago. When we got there, restaurant was pretty empty. We ordered 3 steaks and 1 rib, when the food came, 2 of the steaks were cooked wrong so they were sent back to kitchen. After 40 minutes waiting, the manager was delivering our food this time. She shoutting at us "medium rare" and dropped the plates on table. We told her the baked potato was on the wrong plate, she Used Her Hand to grab my potato from co-worker's plate and put it in my plate in front of us. When my coworker told her "don't use hand". She replied us " It's okay." If I wasn't dinning with my coworkers, I would have just walk out of the restaurant. Wrong order, slow service, kitchen can't cook steak right, the most important thing is letting someone unprofessional runs the restaurant. Good luck with your business.

We try to take the kids once a month here (before Covid 19). This is our family fave place to dine at. Yearly we celebrate 5 birthdays here, again before Covid 19 ???? Foods and drinks are most of the time superb (once if not twice, steak was a bit chewy, but other than that, nice meals for sure). Service is always top notch. Our servers are always friendly and check us often should we need refill and whatnot. We never have any prob for reservation and seating. Greeter always friendly esp. to my youngest who likes to chat. Ambience is nice. Please bring back the salmon menu, it was so good! Too bad since covid some menu's gone, including our fave dessert.

We used to come all the time last year it was our favourite place to be. But the quality seems to just have gone a little down hill, we figured we would try again. We were sitting in the bar it was rather slow for a Saturday, but we had amazing service. The bartenders were funny and friendly, the food was okay. Closer to the end of our experience a man was standing at the service stand and he had loudly said to a younger girl that “she was full of shit”. It was uncomfortable especially because we were sitting close enough to hear him say that. We came back again as a one last chance on Monday for the wings, Sam was serving us and she was fantastic. But when we were offered donuts for a review we figured we would talk about the good and the bad we’ve experienced here. So it’s very hit or miss, the server staff is the best part about this restaurant. It’s just a shame it’s gone down so far and that someone had spoke to their staff that way.

One of the worst experiences I've ever had. Went into the lounge part and my boyfriend and I ordered 1 beer and 1 non alcoholic drink. Took 10 minutes to get our drinks. Bar was not even half full. Then, while ordering our food the waitress gave me a scoff under her breathe in front of us when I asked if they had a gluten free bun. While waiting for our meals there were tables with dirty dishes everywhere on tables that customers had left over 20mins prior. As I'm still sitting here it's been over an hour for those tables to be cleaned. And the plates that were taken were just stacked behind the bar. Unsanitary and disgusting. I'm a server that works in the service industry in Fort Mac at a busy bar uptown and I get being busy and not having enough time sometimes but this is outrageous. Very disappointed and won't be coming back. The food was great so I'll just be ordering SKIP from Montanas from now on. When you work in the service industry it is our job to provide good customer service. Being rude hurts yourself for tips, gives the place a bad name, which in turn is unfair to the coworkers. Not at all acceptable.

Went here for dinner the other day and was underwhelmed to say the least. The front of house was a disaster with multiple groups claiming they were there first and no one was around to check them in/take a list. We got to our table and waited forever for someone to come ask about drinks and then waited even longer for food. The food arrived - some cold, some items (i.e. the meat for the fajitas) missing and the ribs were d-r-y. We hadn't been here for a long time and definitely won't be back. The worst part of the whole thing was the dad with his two little kids sitting next to us - they were there before we were and were just getting their meals as we were leaving. Feel sorry for the little guys but they were real troopers and didn't raise a fuss. The funny thing is they weren't even that busy. I'd say at least half the tables were empty so I don't know what was going on. We'll just go to Mr. Mikes next time.

Absolutely horrible experience. The hostess was by far the most genuine and polite person we encountered during our meal. Bar servers were uninterested in serving a family with small children, they made us feel rushed- and not once did they come by to check on us during our visit. Spinach bread pita was saturated in oil... it was actually dripping off. We ordered 2 medium steaks... one came out medium rare, the other well done. In fact so well done it was tough and inedible. We were told a manager would be over... 15 minutes pass and Matt the manager on duty didnt even have the decency to visit our table. Absolutely a horrible example of a leader - and disgusting food to top it off. We will not be returning

Awful service. My server was Geminei. Once she arrived at my table, she asked if there were any adults joining us (we were aged from 16-18) and told us that if we were putting sauces in each others’ drinks she wouldn’t give us refills. Which is understandable if we had done something to make her believe we would do that but flat out rude because it was the first thing she said to us when she got to our table. The next thing she did was look at my shirt and say “oh honey, that shirt. It’s retro and all but honey. That shirt” while looking at me with a judging stare. I would have liked my drink order to be taken before I was insulted by my server. Once we had our drink orders, we didn’t see her until a while after someone else had come to take our order. When we were paying, she complimented my acrylic nails and proceeded to tell us a story of her botched nails while making fun of a Vietnamese nail tech. Yes, she did do a racist accent while imitating her. Overall a bad experience. She also overcharged my friend $4 for a Pepsi when she had a water. Luckily I said something but still, we were trying to have a nice night out for dinner and a movie but we’re met with a negative experience. Not happy.

On the website it says kids eat free on Tuesday when we come there we were told $2 a child with what we were ok with. After we were done eating we got the bill and we got charged full price when we told the waiter she said she would go change it for us. She come back and said it was $2 for four children and full price for one because we were only 4 adults so it was $2 pro child for every adult. Why did you never tell us when we first ask about the kids eat free the full truth. It was a disappointing outing the food was not great either.

Been here a few times now - for lunch and dinner - and the food was great both times, even for a vegetarian. The cauliflower buffalo "wings" are good, and so is the veggie burger - especially with the sauces provided on the tables.

Our waitress took our order but then 4 different people served us our food!! Restaurant half empty. Waited for 5 minutes until anyone noticed us at the front standing there waiting. Hostess finally came up and with a rather cold tone said that they are really busy and it will be a 15 minute wait. And yes... half the place was empty. Steak cold and tough, kinda bland taste as well, friends meal was also cold, salad was too soggy but they got me a fresh one, dry so I could add the dressing to my liking. One of the servers was mia for most of our meal, but we got help from another server who was very kind. Didn't get our drinks topped up would have been nice. If the meals were not cold and we had better service I would have probably given a better rating.

Waited hour and a half for two steaks and a grilled cheese. saw the waitress two or three times didn’t even get an apology or reason why it was so long of a wait. Three tables that go in after us got food before us. Got all are food packed up and they forgot some. Never had a problem here before but this was ridiculous. And after reading some reviews this place sounds like it sure has went down hill. Strongly don’t recommend this place, fire up your own bbq and cook your own steak. if I could give it half a star or not one at all I would.

I am giving two stars only because the waitress was kind and polite. And she has deserved her tip. Great social distancing practices. Otherwise the quality of the food has been gone down. We, two people, had ribs with Cesar salad.(over 20 dollars per portion). The ribs were so, so..not like they used to be. The salad was not fresh. I complained and we got new plates of salad from "newly opened bag". It was the same thing. The leaves were not just not fresh, but some soaked in their own juice. On the end when I was paying the bill, new person (a men, maybe the owner), came and noticed that we didn't eat the salad. He told me that he is going to contact the vendor. Wrong replay. Who cares about his relationship and plans with the vendor? I just wanted to be served with fresh salad. He could suggest different kind of add on or take the charge of the salad from my bill. He even didn't think about that. And I am not the person who ask for discounts. Terrible. I will never visit this location again. I would not recommend this location to my friends. Overall, rather disappointed with this venue. The restaurant was understaffed resulting the poor table service. The meal was adequately prepared but had no distinctive flavours to set is apart from other venues of this nature and price point. The patio was glorious and the weather was scintillating, so if you just want a glass of wine on the patio, this is your place. I would certainly leave a review if the link below worked for me. Our family decided to order a late dinner and specifically from Montanas because we love your spinach dip. We paid $60 for our apps and we were all disappointed with the quality of the food. Everything was cold. ( we live 5 minutes from this location) My daughter ordered the kids sliders and her fries were really cold and so were the patties, I discovered a long wavy hair when I took my first bite of the spinach dip and looked over at my 10 year old gag when she pulled out a long hair from her spinach dip. We all have short hair! I immediately called and asked to speak to the manager on duty. She offered to make everything fresh but at this point we were no longer hungry. We had lost our appetite. She then offered to send us a coupon in which I had accepted without knowing the value of the coupon. After having time to think about the entire situation I would really appreciate a refund. This was a horrible experience and a lot of money was wasted. The manager offered $50 gift card that was apparently sent last Sunday (8 days ago) I have contacted the Manager 3 days ago and still have not received a reply. This is completely unacceptable. I do not recommend this place. Save your money and time.

Not a fan of the meal or the service. My husband had the burger which looked like a frozen patty burger, wasn't made to menu description and was super dry. The salad it came with was all brown. Mentioned it to waitress and she brought out another bowl of brown salad. Took about 10min to get cutlery after food arrived. Never came to check on food and when it was time To pay put machine on table and wasn't seen again. Last visit for us.

I've eaten hear in the past, however in the past 2 visits in the fries and onions have been luke warm and moist/soggy (not crispy). Each those visits they did try to accommodate us and the manager did come out to talk to us which is most appreciated. The food flavour was great and the steak was cooked to our liking. Hopefully our next visit won't be a repeat. I do enjoy the great atmosphere here. Thank you to the servers understanding our disappointments and not ignoring us.

Went for Valentine's dinner. The wait to be seated was 20 minutes which was fine since we didn't have a reservation. I had to wave down a server to be served after not being served for 15 minutes. They did apologize for this and comp'd the appy. However, when we were finally served our main course after another 25 minutes it was cold. I don't usually post reviews since the work they do is very hard and thankless. On this occasion I have taken exception.

Had the lobster sauce steak. It was OK. Husband had the shrimp and steak. His steak was chewy and he said not flavorful. The spinach dip app was disappointing. Worst experience we have had yet here! 1st issue: we waited awhile for someone to take our drink order. 2nd issue: I told the hostess and our waitress that it was our daughter's bday and would like the singing with the hat etc. for her. This never happened even after I was promised it would. 3rd issue: I asked for no onions for her meal as well as mine, guess what, they both had onions in them! 4th issue: there was at one point, yelling in the kitchen, I assume an argument with staff or management, not cool as the whole place heard it. 5th issue: our waitress barely cracked a smile once while serving us. Overall, it was a horribly bad experience for us and my daughter on her bday. We will not be returning!
