After having the restaurant recommended to us, we decided to try it out. It was everything that was recommended plus some. The decor is rather plain but gives the feeling of an older, small town restaurant, which it lives up to. Food is down to earth, well cooked and the portions are ‘way more than healthy! Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food served. Licensed, but very much a family restaurant. Staff was extremely friendly and efficient. Pay at the door as you leave type of place. We really enjoyed it and will return, likely with friends.

Out for an afternoon drive and got alitte hungry, stopped in at mama's because it looked inviting and busy "2 good signs " I ordered the mushroom cheese burger OMG it was absolutely delicious and huge !!! no frozen patties here , great seasoning and all the proper condiments and veggies, if your looking for a great place to eat give this place a try , excellent !!!!

Great food! But, only thing is the slow service and the fact we can’t wear bathing suits into a restaurant that’s by a beach. First girl let us in with our bikini bottoms and a tank top, then the second I went in I was asked to cover up. They didn’t even bother to put up a sign until it became an issue with my friends and I. The fact we can’t even sit outside in bathing suits is odd. I get that no shirt no shoe no service is a thing, but it wasn’t communicated very well here..

Went there today for breakfast, so friends said it was great so we tried it. Not very busy when we got there ,then it seemed everyone came at once. The waitresses were swamped ,but they did a dam great job. The food we had mama's 3 breakfast ,we decided to share,and it was a very large plate full and so dam good. The coffee never stopped flowing ,the waitresses never stopped asking if you wanted more. For how busy they got the girls gave great service. We are going back again for supper1 time,it probably just as tasty as the breakfast. Thanks again ,you people do a dam good job

Nice simple place. Though the service was not the most friendly, it was good and the food was also very good. The gravy in particular was outstanding. Portion sizes are generous. I also loved how they gave us water in mason jars, nice touch. Would recommend.

We were on a day trip in the country and en-route to home. One of us very badly needed a washroom. We arrived at Alberta Beach and hit the first gas station - to be greeted by a sign saying "No Public Restrooms"! We drove 50 meters to Mamas and our problem was solved. Food was amazing.

Not many healthier options on the menu, everything is mostly deep fried. I have been given regular pop instead of diet a few times which is troubling as a type 1 diabetic. The fountain pop is consistently flat so it makes it difficult to tell the difference.

Went to try and i liked it. I ordered the 3pcs fried chicken with fries. Gravy. It comes with a fresh made salad. And i tried their home made vinaigrette. The chicken was crispy and it had a dry bone which maybe some like that some maybe not. I would have preferred a bit more juicy. But minor. The fries are on the thick side. Everything came out hot. Wow. I thought i would get some photos of the menu and my salad and main course. Hope you like the review. On this visit i did have to wait for a table just die to how busy it was at 1:30pm Friday. Waitresses are super friendly and made me feel good.

Outstanding service and amazing food!! The fish and chips tasts so good, three LARGE fish fillet with lots of fries. If you like liver, try the cow liver, that was surprised us. If you go to the Alberta Beach, you should try this place.

Absolutely excellent service and food. I got a take out burger and was really happy they offered gravy with the fries. Juicey fresh burger. This is the place to go in alberta Beach for food honestly I would even drive out of my way to come here again . Very homey and friendly. You can tell they're centered around community I'm going to phone to see if they do catering for small events

Alberta Beach’s hidden gem! Outstanding service. I was so amazed at how efficient their social distancing measures set in place were. The space provided can accommodate a small family for sure. The food is always so good with large portions. I recommend you have the Big Mama Breakfast! If you are camping near by or riding through on your bike, you must stop and have a meal here. Let’s not forget the great staff too !! Thank you !

I was banned from the restaurant because the owners husband is nothing short of an immature hot headed bully with a lack of control of his emotion out bursts. He lacks knowledge, patients and understanding. I would like nothing more than to see my heavenly Father dissipline man and give him the gift of salvation. His phone couldn't read my pass on my phone and not did he think to read the dates of the shots. Crystals phone reads my phone. I was there just the day before when the same thing happened and Kim told me that I could sit down for my meal. I spent 400.00 one month of food there and now I'm bullied out. Really now....who's loss is this mine or Kim's the owner?

We stopped here for lunch with our small exotic car group and we were pleasantly surprised. What a great atmosphere and the food was plentiful and excellent !! Dale, the owner, was wonderful. Service was top notch. So glad we found this local favourite restaurant. A real gem !!! We will definitely return. Stopped for late lunch on a Sunday day trip to Alberta Beach. Our first visit to this 'home cookery'. Friendly?? Absolutely!! Helpful, knowledgeable, and even though busy, never felt rushed. And the food was superb...especially the potato-bacon soup starter. And the hearty menu we thoroughly enjoyed. We'd be ready to make the 100km trip again soon - just for the happy foody experience. Thanks Mama!!

We used to love to go to Mama's in the kitchen we've lived out this area for 11 years we've been going there for 10 years but this last year the food is changed the quality is changed and I'm not impressed that I had to pay $20 for two veal cutlets that I could have got at Superstore used to order the veal cutlets all the time and they were delicious gone in downhill. Will not be ordering again

I said my pop tasted weird from their fountain machine and he proceeded to try it and than say no it tastes fine and she said yeah I agree and continued to argue. Wow. Had a fantastic lunch on Saturday - veggie burger with curly fries and regular burger with french fries. Super delicious and huge portions (unheard-of portions than what we're used to in Edmonton). Our server was super friendly and helpful and even brought our take-out order out to us in the car because we had our dog with us. Will definitely stop in again when we are in that neck of the woods.

Portions are huge! You surely will not leave here hungry. Excellent Reuben sandwhich. Jalapeno poppers & wings are yummy! Looking forward to trying more off the menu.

It’s been so long since I’ve stopped in at Alberta Beach. The last time I drove through to go back to Grand Prairie (as that’s where I’m from) I decided to take a little detour ad it was a beautiful day and I had spare time . I stopped at the dock, I went to the park and I stopped at mamma’s kitchen for lunch. I took so many photos as I was amazed by their venue it felt very homey .It was definitely a place I would like to work at if I ever moved there. Lol The burger was massive and the fries were amazing. The only thing I would change is I would add salt on the fries but that’s a personal opinion of mine. If you’re looking for somewhere unique to eat this is definitely a place to go check out !!! The very friendly staff and the cozy venue will make you so comfortable you won’t want to leave. Excellent food and massive portions. Really large menu. I was shocked they had a veggie burger option and it was delicious with fresh tomato and crisp pickles. The poutine was enormous! 8 inch french fries. The bathroom was clean and the tables were fully distanced to comply with covid regs. Staff seemed like nice people. You brace yourself for the worst when you go to a small town restaurant but you're all good here. This is the place to go if you're in Alberta Beach. Edit: Went back for breakfast and OMG the omelette was ENORMOUS! Sooo good it said 3 egg but it looked like an 8 egg. Real cheese, real mushrooms, real everything! The pan fried potatoes were a literal mountain, it looked like the Frank Slide on my plate. The rye bread was marbled!! I just...I can't even. It's a literal mama in the back cooking the food. Do your tummy a favour and eat here!

The food is amazing, portion sizes are huge, but the service is what was outstanding in my experience. They handled a large group of us (20+) like experts. Accurate and speedy service. One of the people at my table ordered a refill on their beer, the server said they were out....and then asked if the person wanted them to run over to the liquor store to get more! Granted, in a small town it isn't that much of an ask, and the person at my table declined and chose something else, but the offer was definitely appreciated. Very impressed with how above and beyond they were offering to go.

A little gem in the heart of the town of Alberta Beach, was doing a construction project in a new development of the town. Went here nearly everyday and was continuously surprised by the quality of food and service. Wonderful friendly young woman there that strives to please, and conducts herself with poise and professionalism despite doing multiple duties solo. Don't pass this place.

The food was okay. Our waitress was OK. The time it took for our meal was absolutely not OK. We ordered within 10 minutes of sitting down and our food came close to an hour later. They were very busy, but prioritized take out and delivery meals when there were customers sitting in the restaurant waiting. We will not go back.

You will never leave hungry... that's for sure! Amid rising food costs, Mamas' still gives tremendous value. Their large portion sizes are legendary and the staff is super-friendly and accomodating. On the outdoor patio it's not uncommon for other tables to start talking to each other. It's a comfortable place to be. Some small but important things stopped me from giving a five-star review; my friend described the clam chowder as if it came from a can. Ouch. Not what one should hear about a home-style restaurant's soup. The fries needed to be crispier and perhaps seasoned in the kitchen while hot. Lastly, a slab of cooked ham doesn't belong in either a Clubhouse or a Monte Cristo. It doesn't. Using it is the lazy person's way of assembling food. Shaved ham is the way to go. You're able to use less and you don't lose the signature taste of either sandwich. My Clubhouse didn't taste like one. I can't state it any simpler. Will I come back? Of course I will - and I encourage others to do so. As I said earlier, it's a great place and you'll be welcomed with a comfortable vibe and you'll leave with a full stomach. Happy to have a place like this in Alberta Beach!

Loved it! We were in Alberta Beach for the day and wanted lunch, not knowing where to go and we just stopped in. And so glad we did! My omelet was amazing! So delicious and filling, we all enjoyed our meals and the portions were big. Owner was very nice and interactive and our server was very accommodating to my needs. Great place for lunch and it was quite busy there. Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant!

We came across this casual little diner on one of our drives and it has know become a family favourite! We have returned numerous times now.
