Pretty good cuisine. Service was slightly slow and the server kept forgetting stuff. But I suppose it was quite busy for the fellow. I liked the fact that the steak was cooked to perfection and the kitchen staff pay attention to detail. The menu also boasts elk and bison, which is fantastic. Most of the entrées are between $20 to $30, so it is a bit on the pricey side.

People are over rating this place. Are the 5 stars geniune? This place is a 3 star but since it was really far from the 4.3 stars that attracted me there I only give it a 2. Pizza is no good. The crust was bad , not enough toppings and flavorless. The lasagna was small in size and missing spices. Service is very good however. The atmosphere is nice. The place is large and has many booths as well as a separate party room. There is a fireplace in the middle that is nice and I enjoyed the heat on a cold night.

Fantastic staff, amazing food from appetizers to desserts. One of the best overall dining experiences I have had in many years. The only thing missing was a cappuccino with the sweet potato cheesecake. But the drip coffee was good enough. Wished I lived in Edmonton so I could go more often. Well done.

Went in not knowing what to expect. Awesome experience. Fast, friendly service. I sat on lounge side and caught the last few innings of a baseball game on a clean 62" TV.. staff was on point with drinks and menu knowledge. They offer regular and premium booze and a decent selection on the drink list. There is a daily special but everything there tastes great. Meal comes with your choice of two sides, which is nice. Chocolate lovers must try their lava cake!! Price was fair in comparison to a restaurant of that standard.. I'd recommend this to anyone wanting something different than normal as they offer bison, elk and banok (fried bread).. chicken and beef too, if your feeling less adventuress ;)

Bartender didn't know how to make a Manhattan despite it being on their drink menu. When I questioned what they had brought me I was told it looked different because they used bourbon instead of rye.....yes the liquor difference turned my martini into an ice filled highball that was the wrong color. Food service was decent other than the medium rare steak was served extra extra well done, completely juice free. We sent the steak back and 2nd try was better. I've come to this restaurant a few times and it's very roller coaster on the quality of service and food you end up receiving.

I enjoy coming here. It's quiet, comfortable, relaxing and welcoming. It is never overly busy, I think in part do to the location, very little exposure. However, I've never had to wait to be seated. They have a large selection with a lot of variety and the food is delicious. I would have given it five stars but on my last visit they completely messed up my order.

Food was good but expensive but everything else connected with this place was horrid. The 5th martini that came to the table in the second had way too much vermouth even though the first 4 were perfect so we sent it back. The bartender comes back with the new drink and tells us he made it the same as all the others and stands there and dares us to find something wrong with it…..Literally. When we told him it was again perfect he turns around and leaves… a complete jerk…. The waitress seeing that we were visibly upset sends the manager and instead of focusing on an apology he tries to defend the idiots behavior describing him as some kind or artist scorned. Total rubbish. If you think word of mouth means nothing it proves that you are in the wrong business. Oh and to top it off the only reason we went there was because of a coupon buy one entrée get one free…. But instead of taking an entrée of the bill they took a salad off. Will never be back, and those that trust our recommendation will never go or return either.

VERY NICE MEAL....It was busy, Saturday night, but well run, good service. I had the Seafood Mornay and it's delicious. There was lots of fish and seafood, all nicely cooked and tender, and the Mornay sauce with the mashed potatoes was excellent. A friend had the Guinness Lamb Stew and loved it. The Special chicken breast meal and the Chicken Dumpling salad meals were tasty, although the chicken was overcooked but still OK.

I love that bison and elk are on the menu, but the flavour gets lost a bit in my opinion. I found the dishes a bit heavy and maybe traditional Western, lacking that twist I was hoping for. I don't think I'd go out of my way to come back here at $20+ per entree, but I'd give it another try if invited out here again.

This place is amazing. It was our first time here, the food was delicious and service was good even at a time where social distancing is recommended. We started with bannock with a maple butter (different and the butter was not sweet and just perfect). Main courses were the daily special, salmon lightly breaded and baked with shrimp, rice and veggies. 2nd dish was the bison meatloaf with potatoes and veggies and third dish was half a chicken with potatoes and veggies. We all enjoyed our food and would come back again.

This was an amazing restaurant the bison burger was delicious and the Bannock with whipped maple butter is not to be missed. The whole atmosphere is very cozy and comfortable, loved the central fireplace. Food is very fairly priced for the quality only expensive if you're used to McDonald's prices and therefore quality. Staff were excellent an at no point did I feel rushed. Would recommend to anyone.

Homefire Grill is a family favorite for us, due to the great food, warm ambience, friendly staff, and wonderful service. We have used this restaurant for everything from a large family celelbration in the private dining room to Mother's and Fahter's Day brunches to casual lunches. My fiance and I visited Homefire Grill Thursday night. Our server Casy was very quick to bring a drink menu and go over the specials and recommendations. The menu was not too long, easy to follow and everything was priced very fairly. I ordered the special and my fiance ordered the bison burger. We had an elk poutine to start. The poutine was spiced really nicely and the best poutine I have ever had. Our main courses were flavorful and filling. We will make it a priority to come back often for the quick and pleasant service and delicious food! 10/10 would recommend.

Went here for our 5 yr wedding anniversary and was glad we did. A big shout out to Casey our server , he was awesome in the way he took care of my wife’s dietary changes with the kitchen staff and took care to be attentive to our questions and needs. We had the bison meatloaf and burger and the man was the burger amazing... the meatloaf was just as good but the portion size I think could have been a little bigger. The food came out hot and quick and overall was a very enjoyable event out for us.

My wife and i ordered steaks for supper and we had to send back our steaks because they were cook the wrong way and Mine was supposed to be medium upon receiving the steak was well done thru and thru when I received the steak again it was almost Blue the meal cost $ 102.00 plus a 10.00 tip so 112.00 total for 2 people we probably won't go back even though we have been living at the Candlewood practically next door for the last 3 months 112.00 for good soup isn't worth it,

We were looking for a change and Homefire did not disappoint. One of the best take-out meals we've had in a long time, and guaranteed will be one of the first places hit up once in-house dining resumes. Very obviously dealing with Chefs here, not "Cooks". Fish and Steaks were flavoured and grilled to perfection, which isn't an easy task for take-out meals. Their play with the Saskatoon Berry blew our minds, absolutely delightful with some of their savoury elements. I'm also not one for desserts, but now a huge fan of their Sweet Potato Cheesecake. Finally, great service at pick-up. Warm, friendly, loving what they do.

I'm not sure what cut of meat it was, but I think one can do better with getting AA cuts on sale at Sobeys. We’ve all had experiences at restaurants with good food and poor service or poor quality food and good service. This is a rare gem with both innovative good food with really wonderful service. I wasn’t too adventurous in my ordering, but I will definitely returning to try some really interesting menu items. One thing that I saw many reviewers write about was the sweet potato cheesecake. And although I am not much of a dessert person, I am very happy I tried this. It was really delicious and not overly sweet. If you’re looking for something that’s cooked with some heart, give Homefire Grill a try. I’ll be back every work visit to Edmonton.

They didn't seem to have very organized sections for their servers. We were our servers only table in the restaurant so she spent all of her time in the bar and our service lacked- meanwhile there were only a few other tables all getting great service, the one next to us by a manager who never once bothered to ask how our meal was. Food was okay, I order the strip loin which was overcooked but we didn't get a check back. The was the customer service for us was terrible.

Place was alright! Went here for a party and we had the private room. Plenty of parking. We had about 27 people so it was great to have a private room. I had the bison meatloaf and it was good. The bison meatloaf was tasty but was a little dry. The vegetables could’ve been boiled/blanched a little longer and the mashed potatoes was ok. I found our server/host to be overwhelmed by the big party and was getting frustrated with the party for moving around. Did she really expect a party to just stay seated? That’s why we requested a private room to mingle and roam. Also, her little side comments I didn’t care for. I’m sure with a regular visit service is better and possibly the food might be better but with a large party i wouldn’t recommend.

Ate supper here tonight because it was convenient. I had the steak it was so so not the best. I forgot to ask them to hold the sauce so thats my fault but it tasted odd. I hope I dont get sick. The little roasted potatoes arent freshly baked and the steamed vegetables were a mix of crunchy squash and mushy zuchini. Just odd.

True Canadian fusion at last! The bison burger with saskatoon relish was the best burger I've had in ages, and I'm a woman who is truly dedicated to her burgers. ;) Lovely decor, fabulous staff, and every element of every dish we ordered was perfection. My dining companion and I had the bannock to start, which was dense and delicious. The maple butter was an excellent touch. We had the bison meatloaf and the bison burger, both of which were well seasoned and tasty. Also, we thought they were a large portion for a reasonable price. Our waitress was really friendly and even ran out to the parking lot to bring us our left over bannock that we forgot. We will be back ????.

Service was friendly and attentive. Menu is quite limited with few gluten free options. One is the chicken stir fry at $23. It had 4 medium shrimp and maybe 3 ounces of chicken, on rice. Food was steamed not fried and bland. Did not even eat a third of the dish. Ordered the large creme brulee for dessert, $9 bucks. Good flavour but very small for the price. The deluxe flatbread pizza was 19 bucks and it was actually pretty good. One glass of wine, one beer and the food above was 69 bucks for lunch for 2, and that doesn't include the tip. Pretty ritzy pricing for what you get.

We come here often after a day of travel. I was considering the reasons I enjoy this restaurant so much. It's consistency. Always clean. Always cosy. Always exceptional service. The menu is varied and unique. The food has been delicious at every visit. No surprises. It feels like home with really good food and someone pleasant and entertaining to bring it to you and clean up your mess. Wonderfully place for a date night. The food is great and the service is awesome. They probably have the best chicken wings in Edmonton. Yes! I said the best chicken wings in Edmonton. I was there with my girlfriend and we got out food paid for by a God sent couple because we remind them of when they started dating. GOD bless that couple and bring peace in their lives. 5 minute after that another man gave us a vase of flowers because he also likes our couple. Guinness Irish stew very watery and bland. It was basically frozen vegetable niblets in a watery gravy with a few chunks of meat. Definitely not worth the $19.50 price point. Came with cold and hard mashed potatoes and a few (4) vegetables. The mussels in Creole cream sauce was good, except that there were a few broken shells in the mix, which are supposed to be removed. (Broken and opened mussels shouldn't be eaten). BBQ chicken pizza was dry. Seemed to be almost no sauce on it. Would have been nice to have it served with a dip of some sort. Very limited draft beer selection with Budweiser and 3 local beers.

Although my wife found the chicken in the stir fry overcooked and the noodles overcooked, The Taste was good. Atmosphere is great, but the food is mediocre at best. We ordered the special which was bacon wrapped sirloin steak with 2 prawns. I could have sworn I heard the waiter say that it came with sauteed mushrooms, but sadly they never appeared on my plate. The mashed potatoes were cold, and the medium rare steak was much closer to rare even though the waiter assured us it wouldn't be. There wasn't much food on the plate at all either. For $27 a plate, I expected a bit more. The prawns were simply small shrimp. The veggies were simply 2 pieces of carrot, a piece of squash, 2 long skinny pieces of broccoli, and a zucchini slice. As stated, it was okay, just not great. Dessert however was awesome!! Large portions, and very tasty! We had the Island delight and Molten Chocolate Cake. Both were absolutely delicious!!

The restaurant itself is a little difficult to find. It's off 100 Ave. NW, which is a one way street. So if you pass it, you're toast. We were there as a large group. There was a room sectioned off just for our event. It was a little tight, but comfortable. The food is superb. I ordered The Four Cheese Tortellini with Elk. The Elk was cooked to perfection. The staff are friendly enough. The prices are steep though. Expect to pay about $15 - $20 for an appetizer. Dinner is $25-$40. Extras (such as garlic toast) are additional. But if you're looking for great ambience and a fantastic meal, you're heading to the right place.

Thought this place was fantastic...wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised....everyone loved their meal (there was four of us) elk lasagna was delicious and so was the seafood mornay but I think the winner of the meal was the four cheese ravioli with ground elk...amazing! But you need to enjoy rich food. We also had bison dumplings to start which were fantastic as well. Great menu, hard time choosing what to get...great service....great experience!

My friends and I hosted our monthly bookclub at this restaurant. While there was 7 of us, we weren't a difficult table. The food was slow to come out and some of it was not as ordered. The server was very nice and always had our glasses full of wine and water. Based on the kitchen alone, our meal was just okay. It's easy to make a reservation at this location and there is lots of parking.

Food is a bit on the pricy side for what you get. It's decent quality but I'd say overall you would expect a bit more for the price. If you want to try something new this is for sure an interesting restaurant to go to, but Im not sure I would go here too often. Overall it gets a 3/5 and I would recommend the bison meatloaf.

My husband and I came here last night as first time patrons. Our server (Lance) was great! Due to my food allergies, he was very helpful in recommending different dishes for me and working with the kitchen staff to alter some of their recipes. The atmosphere is very cozy, warm and inviting. The dishes we ordered were very good. The overall prices are on the high side but not overly so. It's kind of like going to Starbucks, you pay for the experience, and we had a very good experience. While the food and service was very good, the wine however, is not. I will definitely not order their wine again.

Ordered a basket of bannock and it was delicious, probably my favourite part of the meal. The chicken club was a little bland, with chunks of chicken breast that were too large. Unfortunately by the time we got home with our order everything was cold, so I'd like to try dining in once they are open again.

I was there on November 2021 and I had Bannock for a starter and Bison Stew as the main. Bannock is really filling and the Stew was a bit salty but I feel that all stews are salty because the water is being evaporated as it cooks. How I solved the problem is I took a small amount of the mash potatoes with every scoop and it seemed to balance the saltiness.

Warm, subdued atmosphere lends well to a quiet dinner. Casey, our server, was efficient, helpful, and attentive without hovering. Food was delicious! We had bannock to start. It came warm with maple butter and is very easy to eat too quickly. Our entrees were the ribs and the sausage rose pasta. The ribs fall off the bone and don't have any excess to worry about like membrane or cartilage. The pasta is simply delicious. Good mix of meat, veggies, sauce, and pasta, not one element overtaking another. Very good experience! Definitely returning.

I had no idea what to expect when I first walked in. From start to finish the staff were very good. It very quickly became evident that the team there was tight and had worked together a long time. You could see they all had fun working together and that there was mutual respect with their manager Darryl. Order the pizza, it was incredible, and although they have just a couple beers on tap - they were the right ones. I'll be back no question! On another note - it was very impressive to see that the manager went out and shoveled the snow off the walkway for customers - he is on top of the whole client experience. Thanks again!

This is one of our favourite places to eat, especially in the winter months. The ambience is so lovely and warm and the service is always excellent. But the food....it is SOOOOO good. My husband had the steak, which was cooked to absolute perfection, and I had the pork chop which had a goat cheese kind of crumble on top and was DELICIOUS. And the chef actually knows how to cook vegetables properly! Highly recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I have come here many times and I'm afraid to say it might be coming to an end. They had wonderful food across the board and great staff. Which earned them an extra star but that was the past and I hate to say it's just not that great anymore. Its just average. There used to be an identity there that they called their own and it was amazing to have this feeling they we had a great place to go that was tucked away at the edge of the city were it wasn't always packed, but now its just not worth going. We might try one last time in the future but then again the food was just so boring and may not be worth going back

Great cozy restaurant with the best ambiance. We we're seated within a moment of entering, behind ushered over to a seat by the toasty fireplace. The waitress was very kind and brought us water while we looked over the drink menu. He had the Yellow head lager and I opted for the Blue Hawaiian, followed by a Long Beach Ice Tea, very tasty indeed. Our waitress gave us time to view the menu and only returned to our table when she seen we had made our selections. The food was delicious, and we'll presented. I had the Icelandic Haddock and my boyfriend chose the Pork Chop and we split what had to be the most amazing Bannocks. We we're both very satisfied with our meals and left feeling relaxed and we'll fed. Will definitely return if we are in town again.

We came here for a large birthday celebration. The service was great and I feel they did a fantastic job serving the large party. I had the chicken/ribs with mussels to start. The mussels are delicious but the chicken and ribs were a bit overdone and dry. My fiance had the New York steak and it was fantastic. We called and asked for a bannock burger and they said they would do it. Once we got home with it, its very clear that the bun is just a bun, and is not Bannock at all. Its between a burger bun and a thick pancake texture. Extremely disappointing when youre expecting fresh bannock, which is advertised on their menu. We paid extra for it to be on bannock as well. My fiancé is indigenous and he is very disappointed in what we received. Even as a baked bannock it was not acceptable, it is very much just bread.

The food was very good but didn't get 5 stars from me because it just seemed to lack a little something. Not sure what, as the meatloaf I has was very good. Other people in my party had the lasagna and it was a bit dry. The poutine starter was really good, as well as the bannock. Total for 6 people (3 appetizers shared, 6 mains, 2 desserts, 1 drink) was about $270 including tip - slightly pricey in my frugal mind, but not too bad.

EXCELLENT service. Good food. The only negative I can say is that the bill was over $100 for 2 of us, but we did have an appetizer, two excellent entrees and each of us had a cocktail, so I didn't feel it was overpriced. I'd recommend and if I lived in the city I'd definitely eat there again.

Visited for Father's Day Brunch and was delighted with the service, the ambiance and the great selection of food. Candace was our server, she was pleasant, attentive and made us feel welcome with the small talk made. Will definitely be back for the.high quality service and food which we received.

I was really impressed with the quality of food and service at the Homefire Grill. I had never even seen that this restaurant was there despite driving by it often; what a hidden gem! They serve indigenous fusion food with delicious elk lasagne (according to my lasagne expert daughter who also adds that the elk wasn't gamey at all), bison meatloaf, baked bannock, and more. The Chef should really be commended on this menu. I should add that dessert was delicious. I often judge a fine restaurant on their creme brule and the one served here is excellent. I usually prefer a warm custard over a chilled one, but this chilled dish was so creamy and smooth that it was to die for! The staff is attentive and well trained. We will return to try more dishes in the future.

A decent spot to grab a reasonably priced dinner. Nice to see a different take on some more classic dishes, and so would consider going back again to try some more. I had the lamb stew on a recommendation from our server, and wasn't disappointed. I did find that it was just a bit too salty to really taste any nuance in the flavours. But, the sides and pastry were nice.

Lots of options, staff are friendly. To be honest, nothing really stands out in terms of dinner options, but the half-baked chocolate chip cookie for dessert is reason enough to come back.
