REVIEWS OF Fiddle River Restaurant IN Alberta

Delicious food and friendly efficient staff

Pedro Santos

The service was excellent and the dishes are well served. We had the phyllo and the wild game pasta and they tasted really good. Totally recommend it.

Jason Griffiths

Absolutely love Fiddle River. The staff are amazing as is the food and ambiance. Thanks for being a go to in Jasper!

Adam Barron

A rare 5 star restaurant. Presentation, service and food was excellent

Kayla Stone

Nice cozy atmosphere, good food with lots of selection of seafood and wild game meats. Overall service was good but not a lot of communication from the server.

Natasha Colucci

Delicious food, friendly and quick service with an awesome outdoor view. Stopped in here for dinner and had a great time. Ordered the halibut and it was perfectly cooked with an awesome sauce. My husband had the meatloaf and loved it.

Kevin Webster

This place has been a favourite of mine for years. The service is always excellent, and the New York striploin is fantastic. Although there is a good wine list for bottles, there is room for improvement in the by-the-glass selection. I definitely recommend dining here.

Katie Passmore

Our favourite restaurant to stop at going through Jasper. We had to wait 30min to get a table so i suggest making a reservation but its amazing. And all the ladies who work there are giving 100%. They are so fast and friendly.

Kim Lafreniere

Beautiful presentation of food. Great service!

Dennis “DMACZ” Macaso

This restaurant offers a variety of sumptuous meals. Highly recommended to enjoy the food at Jasper National Park.

Samuel Western

Elk and bison meatloaf was sublime. Wanted dessert but there was no room left.

hd filmnoir

Interesting menu which is why I tried it. Had the meatloaf bison/ elk high protein, no game taste to speak of. It was good, I would try sone of the other game dishes. Service, was very good as they served to a full reaturant. There are sone stairs to climb to get to the resturant.

Lanqing Irena Qin

Great food and great service. One of the best services I’ve experienced in Canada so far! The ingredients were all fresh and well-cooked. We ordered the New-York steak, roasted lamb and meat loaf as main dishes, the meat were juicy and tender, even better than we had expected. Definitely a refreshing first-try! Will recommend it to other friends.

Simmer Anand

My girlfriend and I ate at Fiddle River Restaurant tonight. The menu, upon first glance, looked quite promising: Wild Game Meat Dishes, Indian Cuisine and more. After reading customer reviews, we ordered the "Bourbon Bore Belly". The presentation was great; but the sauce that the bore pieces were tossed in tasted like ketchup...literally. The other taste that I would liken the sauce to is canned tomato sauce. All said, it was not appetizing. For our mains, we ordered the Arctic Char Fish and the Elk Stroganoff. The Arctic Char lacked flavor...and I mean this politely. The Stroganoff reminded me of a cheap rip off of Indian Curry Goat. We paid roughly $100 for our meal. Given this, we expected the quality of the food to be MUCH better.

Colleen Thomas

Omg! The best fish pot ever! Great service, kind and friendly service!

Cole Despins

If you love seafood i definitely recommend trying the clams! Wild mushrooms! And the wild game they get!! Definitely a great restaurant and i will gladly go there again!

Prakasit Poonapirat

Nice and cozy

Jillian Richards

Highly recommend. We come here every time we visit Jasper. Diverse menu that is consistently delicious! Some of our favourites are the elk stroganoff, Fiddle Fish pot and mussels to start.

damgoodlife

Beautiful view, nice ambiance and great service. Some of the most delicious and flavourful food I've had in Jasper. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! I wish we could eat here everyday !!

taylor reese

Amazing food and service!

Garrett Chomlak

Very warm atmosphere and the staff were great! Excellent view! The menu has a whole array of different options for your pallet. We chose a wild game and seafood option (Filo Yukon Arctic Char and Wild Game Bolognese). Both were delicious - more than enough to make your taste buds dance! Highly recommend this spot if you are staying in Jasper.

Lisa Nantais

This is one of my top 2 restaurants to dine at in Jasper. Bar none the BEST service I've ever experienced anywhere ever. The servers are friendly, always ensure your glasses are filled, dishes served or cleared and have knack for being there when you need them, yet unobtrusive to your dining or conversation. The dishes they offer burst with perfect flavour combinations so that every bite we were oooh-ing and ahhh-ing and telling each other - you've got to try a bite of mine!! I've been here several times including a last minute seating on a busy New Year's Eve and even then, there was zero blip in the service or the food. Fine dining at it's best. If you go nowhere else while in Jasper, you must dine at Fiddle River - you will not be disappointed.

Lance Amols

Great staff who make you feel welcome and have no problem answering questions about the unique menus. Very tasty food.

Kim Wilson

Definitely worth a visit when you’re in Jasper!! Fantastic service and the food and drinks were delicious! I had the mango basil martini. Mmmm. The French onion soup was amazing and the rack of lamb was probably one of the best meals I’ve ever had at a restaurant!!

Jingyuan Peng

Amazing taste!

Myrna Ranford

Fabulous!! Seafood chowder was delicate and tasty. The Elk stroganoff pictured was perfectly done! Be warned.. portions are generous. Highly recommended!

Jeff Walker

“RETURN VISIT”-So after the first visit I have returned to try again, as you know sometimes when you go back to a restaurant it’s not as good, well that was the theory. The seafood was outstanding..The servers were attentive. The quality of the food is superb. Your choice of seafood is abundant, and the ingredients are fresh. It’s hard to choose a favourite. Loved the complimentary house baked bread too. Comfort dining!! Cheers

Sarah Goldman

My husband and I ate here while on our honeymoon. It was our favorite restaurant, topping our dining experiences in Calgary, Kananaskis, Banff, and Jasper. I still have dreams about their salmon. The food was served hot and fresh, and we have raved about this place to all of our friends. We fortunately made a reservation (it gets lively around 7 pm), but I'd wait an hour. I sadly live in Houston, so it will be a long time before we have Fiddle River again, but next time we're in Jasper, we WILL be dining here (and definitely more than once).

M White

Was very cozy. But no idea how to make drink

Deborah Sherry

The food was good but not amazing nor cheap. It was a nice stop in town. The fish was ok and the vegetables healthy if somewhat overcooked. The menu is in the heavy side.

steve thompson

Fine dining with a casual flair. After a full day hiking this was a perfect finish. Highly recommend.????

Nicole Sharman

Wonderful menu, great value. Kid friendly. We experienced a quiet 3 course meal and every bite was amazing. They have other options if seafood isn't your thing.

Bob Oxenburgh

We booked a table for 8.00 pm. They were very very busy. Terrifically friendly and efficient service. They brought us pints instead of 12oz of the brown ale and the pale ale in error and were happy to comp us the 6oz difference. Lobster entrée, elk stroganoff, fried cod were very good. We tipped 20 %.

Steven Hagar

Great food excellent service nice view of the area.

Lynn Pryke

What a surprise. The outside doesn't give any idea of what awaits. Fantastic food

Crystal Sea

We go here every time we stay in Jasper. Very good food. And amazing staff. They really work hard and give great service.

Dan K

Absolutely amazing. Everytime I am in Jasper I go there. It's really really good.

OBJay

Top quality food. Never had a bad experience in 10 visits.

Jason Bohnenstiehl

Food was delicious. They server larger portions. Atmosphere is cozy and the waitstaff was friendly and attentive.

Jay McLachlan

The lobster portions in the main course are a bit skimpy for the price but the pasta dishes are a positively divine.

Stephanie Manteufel

Absolutely phenomenal mushroom bruschetta! You could eat it as a meal. The coconut prawns are also quite delicious. Atmosphere is quiet and seemed family friendly. Outdoor seating offers a scenic view of the passing trains and mountain valley.

Reinhart Gruhn

Pretty nice restaurant, very good seafood (alasklan kings crab), very kindly service, wonderful view from 2. floor, over all: awesome!

Matt Rafferty

Great service, very pleasant staff. I know I am up in the mountains, so I shouldnt expect much from a fish restaurant, but I was hoping for a little more than foodservice fare, especially given the local buzz and how busy they were. Still the food was good, family friendly environment, I was just expecting more.

Marco Katz Montiel

This restaurant has a great deal to offer, but apparently they didn't care about our patronage. In the past, they acted upset when we didn't make a reservation, so this time we did. That did not help. We got the worst table, and ended up sitting in the blazing sun and staring at an ugly wall. When I mentioned this, the server tried several excuses: blaming me for not letting them know about my "sun allergy," telling me that everyone else in the place had also made a reservation, and then going to the old reliable Covid-19 - which I suppose means that you don't need to care about customers anymore. In any case, they won't have to worry about us again. We'll give it a miss and advise others to do the same.

Lara E

Had elk. Very rich flavor and fresh

kim john

Very great service. Food was quick . Waitress was nice. 5 star for this experience

Nick Challis

We had an elk burger here and it was exceptionally tasty. I'm not a salad guy but even the salad was yummy. Lovely waitress too.

Carolyn Bilben

Visited this place while on holidays. Nice atmosphere upstairs. The food was a fair price for portion, quality, and taste. Service was attentive and friendly. Open flame candle on the table was a nice romantic touch and highly appreciated as this isn't something I see often anymore in restaurants.

Leah

Great ambiance, relaxing environment. Seafood chowder and green salad were excellent. Great flavors. Elk stroganoff is amazing very rich taste. All in all excellent restaurant.

Brock T

We thoroughly enjoyed this meal. The service was excellent, the view was outstanding, and the food was great. The generously portioned crab was fresh and melted in your mouth. The game meatloaf was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Soup de jour and smoked salmon appetizer both were on point. The crumble dessert was served piping hot from the oven and was so delicious. Highly recommended.

Samuel Bourassa-Blanchette

We loved our waiter Diane. The plates had personality and the restaurant decor was heart-warming. Nice display of local artist work.

Tyler Suteau

Very good variety of food, moderately priced. Good service.

Marielle

Good service and views! Cozy atmosphere. Menu was super interesting. French onion soup was awful and should have a different name - flavor was weird. Loved the lemon fish but it was overcooked. Bread before the meals came out room temp/cold, warm bread would have been a nice touch. The coconut shrimp was good. Boar belly app, while smaller portioned was great!

prabha ashok

It’s a great experience. If you love seafood then this is the place for you. Amazing food and amazing staffs service. Chef Sushant he makes magic out of food. Super delicious and a must try in Jasper. Would highly recommend.

runner 96

Best Resturant in jasper. Ate there twice and every appetizer, soup and main course was fantastic. Every staff member is warm and hospitable - they themselves love the food and made excellent recommendations. Candied salmon appetizer is a must. Elk steak was outstanding. We tried evil Daves the day before - was good but this place was the top. Don't leave jasper without hitting this Resturant. You won't regret it.

Guangyuan Yang

Food is bad.

Ashley Liu

This restaurant was recommended to us by the concierge at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge where we were staying. Food and service were both great!

Thomas Zoller

We went in for a weekend dinner. The place was packed, but pleasant atmosphere and gorgeous view outside. Food quality and presentation were 10 out of 10. Service was impeccable. Highly recommend rack of NZ lamb, Alaskan Sable fish, Coconut Thai vegetable soup. Didn’t try desserts. Not an inexpensive restaurant but definitely exceeded our expectation. Call ahead to reserve window table.. busy dinner place.

Erwin Rodriguez

Friendly service but food was not good. Had the meatloaf which was a salt bomb, wife had the phyllo wrapped char that was bland, rice was undercooked.

Rod Duggan

Great food, great service. There was a tiny issue with 1 dessert and they went overboard to make it right! Highly reccomend. We had the 3 courses for $39. Shrimp & lobster was included in that deal.

Salim Bellazoug

Certainly the best restaurant in Jasper town. Friendly service and a fine selection of Canadian cuisine.

Bart Piechocki

Great place for some fine dining. Staff was friendly and fast. Would recommend it for sure!!!

Kels Helm

Just had the most wonderful service and such a delicious authentic meal. Strongly suggest trying this place. Their Seafood is incredible!!!????????????????????????????

Danielle Davids

Delicious menu options and generous portions! The earl grey candied salmon appy was delicious. I especially enjoyed the elk stroganoff which was melt in your mouth delicious. Service was great too. Expect to pay a little more, but the food is high quality and the portions are really big!

Bob Yu

We had a great dining experience overall. The portions are HUGE, but the food is prepared perfectly. Service is top notch as well. We plan on coming back when we visit Jasper next year!

EY

The duck meat main dish was delicious, will visit again next time to Jasper.

Y-Minh Tieu

Great service, nice view and the food was delicious

nimat alhaffar

Chowder, soups were amazing lots of options for meats, sea food and to vegetarians. Food quality was top notch. We sat outside on the patio. The view of the mountains and via rail was pretty. Waitress was nice. There are stairs to the restaurant so it is up stairs not to confuse it with the restaurant and patio downstairs as there is another restaurant and patio under it.

Jonathan Paulsen

Nice place to eat in Jasper. Great service.

Norbert Wangsa-Wirawan

Nice and popular restaurant in Jasper - good food & drink options and nice ambient. Located on Main city stretch and plenty of free parking on Street and parking lot across the street.

Ian Swanbeck

Great place for dinner after a day ice climbing.

Andrew Dicks

Great food and atmosphere!

Alaina Pickering

Absolutely awful! And we didn't even eat here so this is purely just the service! I've never been treated so badly, been talk down to or belittle so much in my life! Needless to say we left, I just refuse to let someone treat me that badly! I will never go back and hope everyone reading this saves their time, just find somewhere else!

Patrick Bouche

Food is good. Service very good. But there is better.

Russell Ford

Very nice restaurant with reasonable prices and a nice atmosphere. My wife and I really enjoyed our meal here. Appetizers, drinks, and the main came out to less than 100 cad which was pretty reasonable. Food was flavorful, sevice was good, and the ambience was enjoyable. We were sat right away at about 6:00 but the place very quickly started to fill and by the time we left around 7 there was a significant wait, so just be aware of that.

Mayank Tandon

Service was good but food was really disappointing. I ordered shrimps and lobster and it was overcooked. My wife ordered elk straughnoff and it said braised meat which usually means it's soft and tender and would fall of the bone, this was chewy and hard and really bland with no flavor. Friend ordered an Arctic char which was also bland and was wrapped in French pastry which did not make any sense. Overall food was very mediocre and disappointing. 2 stars mostly because service was good.

Colin Lobo

Good food and friendly service! Definitely try it out when in Jasper! Will come back again.

Juan Carlos Reyes

great meal, just what i needed after a chilly round of golf. one of the best clam chowders in north america!! definitely will eat here again, the owners are from Quebec and the quality does rival one to the east coast restaurant!

Steve Martins

My favourite restaurant in Jasper for an well prepared meal with a local focus.

Rick Stedman

Great food!

Natalia Kostonyan

Amazing food and nice staff! Tried oysters for the first time - delicious!

Vikram Rane

FRESHEST SEAFOOD Perfectly executed During our trip to this mountain resort town, my husband & I ate here twice. It was very busy on the first night, but we were seated immediately by a charming hostess. Ordered fish cakes and boar belly-prawns appetizers both of which were delicious. The Thai fish curry with coconut rice Highly recommend. Seafood is freshest here. Confit duck is a royal treat with sweet n sour berries..paired well with Pinot Noir. Quebec Pouding Chômeur was a surprise dessert on their ‘specials for the night’. Friendly warm staff.. the view of Jasper mountain rocks!

Kalei Doyle

I had the Fiddle Fish Pot and it was awesome!! The server was very kind, and I liked that they brought the board showing the specials over to our table so we could see them instead of trying to remember. It is a little expensive but for the quality of the food and the service, it’s definitely somewhere you have to try!

Kai Tempest

Excellent food with quality to match the higher price range. Service was charming and added to a comfortable atmosphere.

B “Zzz”

The chowder is up there with the best in New England! A brilliant meal, all on its Own. Glad for the doggy bag. Hope for another visit! ????????‍♂️????

Evan Woo

Excellent takeaway. Fast, efficient, and very generous portion size. Great fettuccine and poutine.

Ruth Marie

Great food and service! We always make a point of dining there when we're in Jasper.

Dustin Gould

Great food and a nice atmosphere.... fantastic place for food in jasper:)

Markus Nellen

The Fiddle River Restaurant is a true gem among the many choices in Jasper. Our meals were excellent,- a combination of wonderful flavours and beautiful presentation. Service is is top notch too. You will need a reservation, especially during the busy peak season.

Lucine Chan

Awesome food! Clam chowder and fiddle river fish pot are to die for

Laura C

The chowder was delicious! One of the best I’ve ever ate. We had chowder, our entrees, and also took dessert to go. My only issue was with the fish cakes, they were a bit bland, if they didn’t come with the sauce for dipping, they’d be under seasoned. But everything otherwise was very good. Service was good and attentive. Appreciate the bread and butter that came with our meals.

J Ryan

I don't know if the restaurant has changed quality since the good reviews were written, but it's far from 4 stars, or the $30 you pay per course. Appetizers we're cold, there was a hair in the shrimp sauce, and the waitress didn't even acknowledge the issues or apologize. For the main course, 2 different couples that sat down well after us (~15 minutes) got served first (we're only 2 people as well). Total wait time for the food was ~35-40 minutes. Once they came, the mains were definitely not worth the wait or price. Nothing special.

Good food, pretty good portions and good service. Nice dinner spot when we went. Prices were up there but then again you are in Jasper!

AbdoulKarim Diakite

Very excellent seafood, cooked to the perfection.

M H

Great food and high vibration atmosphere. Nice servers too. The muscles were lovely.

Dena May

Food was very quick although expensive for what you got. Fantastic atmosphere, view and service. Lunch sized portions. Not all types of fish listed in fish pot were actually in the dish. Upstairs location with a nice patio. Daily specials. Pictured is fish pot, and schnitzel with sides on seperate plate.

Quinn

The menu was a bit off-putting, but the staff was friendly and the food was good! Some of the food was also a bit more expensive than I would have expected (some things were $50 per dish). Make sure you check out the menu before coming.

scott hutchinson

Good food, excellent service. The portions were excellent, we left feeling stuffed! We also ordered an appetizer not pictured below

A G

Good food.

As the name might already indicate, Fiddle River is the place to be if you like a nice dish of fish. It is a typical family owned restaurant: you feel easily at home. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a small terrace. Wine is not really an asset but they have some very nice (local) beers.

Sean Watt

This is a true restaurant. Bread and water are provided without asking. The server we had must have been trained in Europe. Very professional, attentive and skilled . The Austrian style schnitzel was prepared to perfection. Possibly the best I have had in Alberta. Austrian style schnitzel is in particular , the best as compared to German style or "American" style. I suspect the chef or owner is Austrian. I rarely give out a five rating, but the service, the meal and the restaurant are leagues above many other restaurants in Jasper. Given the pandemic, labour shortages, anxiety, stress and burnout plaguing all of us, I can't help but give the highest rating for the efforts displayed. Thank you for an exceptional meal. We will be back.

Gideon Z

Made a reservation via yelp for chrismass day. Got an email confirmation. Everything looked fine. When we got there it was closed. We called, got to voice mail indicating that they open at 5pm. No indication of chrismas day closure or any special holiday schedule. Got left hanging high and dry, as most other places were closed (which is why we bothered to make a reservation on the first place). Very considerate.

Jennifer Granito

Bison steak was perfectly cooked at medium rare and a unique and exceptional meal. The shrimp and pork belly appetizer was also delicious. Great views outside their windows. Patio was closed due to weather but still popped my head out for some pics when it cleared up.

ROHIT SHARMA

Sometimes you read great reviews and decided to go to a place, only to realize what the heck! Same happened to us. We are quite generous with rating the restaurants with all the hardships that they went through recently. But experience at this was at a different level. Food was average and on top of that service was bad. I mean bad to the point, you just want to leave the table as soon as possible. Avoid planning special occasions unless you know a server/attendant personally.

Lee Boers

Fiddle River Restaurant $170 + $32.40 TIP Upon entering the restaurant, the hostess wouldn’t change the table when I said I didn’t want to be seated by the entrance of the restaurant. We had made reservations three weeks in advance and arrived on time. During dinner, I couldn’t help but notice a table away from the entrance, in a corner with a window out to the patio stood empty the entire time we were in the restaurant. Not ok. The sink in both the men’s and women’s restrooms were out of service which is not only inconvenient, but who wants to wash their buttery fingers after eating crab with hand sanitizer. Gross. However, our server was polite, prompt, and professional. Here’s what we ate: Seafood Chowder - ????????lots of seafood, and the broth was rich and creamy. French onion soup - ???? not enough cheese ☹️, which did not live up to the description in the menu which boasted, “…baked with bubbling melted Swiss & Parmesan cheese.” Broth was flavourful although I prefer a sherry or Guinness if alcohol is going to be added, instead of the IPA; it made the broth too sweet instead of savoury. Ceviche -???? smallish portion. Tasty, but a little pop of spice would have added some character. Lots of variety of seafood. Lime instead of lemon as the splash of citrus would have added the flavour I was looking for. Fiddle Fish Pot - ???????? - lots of fish, shellfish, and molluscs. Broth was rich and flavourful. Tomato added an acidic balance, and the rice made it a filling meal. Atlantic King Crab - ???????? plentiful portion of crab legs served with rice mixed with lentils, a piece of broccoli, 1/3 of a red pepper, and a mix of buttered lima beans and corn. I hate corn, but the rest of the vegetables were good. The crab was tasty and just enough butter was served, but not with a warmer, so it was cold by end and I didn’t use it after it became cold. Hot caramel sundae ???????????? big, sweet, and delicious. Lots of ice cream, caramel sauce, and whipped cream with a cherry and caramel dipped lady finger. Crème brûlée - ???????????? very nice with a toasted almond crunch on top. Creamy vanilla custard and the perfect sweetness. Strawberry coulis and cream on the side with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry. Lovely presentation. Overall, the experience was not worth the $200+ we spent. It’s a shame we had to wait until dessert to be impressed by what we were eating.

Ryley Conroy

Had their 3 course meal, so did my girlfriend. One of the best meals I have ever had. Fun staff, relaxed vibe and a great menu. Planning to go out to Jasper to revisit the Fiddle River Restaurant.

Sunny Yang

Service is nice but food is average. Pricy too.

Matt Morin

Great elk steak and veggies and Saskatoon berry compote with the steak

Zhuoqing Li

Nice place for dinner. I tried the New York Steak. 8oz is really enough for adults. The coconut shrimp is a great appetizer. If you want to try the dessert, the Greedy Grand is the best (Don't share, haha). Just thought the pork belly was too small even it tasted great.

Alfredo Bozzo

Amazing food and service

Christina Finch

HEAVEN for Seafood lovers Beautiful menu-great mountain view. Kid friendly place and service was attentive. Extensive wines and cocktails to choose from. Highly recommend the creamy chowder bowl n warm bread, halibut oat cakes. Sweet coconut prawns-coronation curry sauce was divine. Baked Meatballs in cheese curds and fried bannock compliments together ..creatively topped with Honeyberry conserve that works surprisingly well...flavour profiles worked to a T. Special dessert was indeed special and hit the right spot! COVID protocols are being diligently followed. walked in without prior reservation and were promptly seated by the front window. A must stop dining spot if you crave fish and mountains views

Michella Dall

Great experience! Had their special of the night which consisted of salmon with herbs and parmesan and prawns ???? The fish was cooked perfectly and had amazing flavor! My partner had their ‘fiddle fish pot’ which he thought was great as well. Also, our waiter was really sweet and accommodating ????Would definitely come back if I lived in Jasper.

tyler holm

Really great food! Friendly staff and prompt service.

Tonyzee

The service here is above and beyond. Fish pot is a must try. We also enjoyed the Alberta on the plate menu. Very interesting.

Marie Leclerc

Excellent seafood chowder, I should have eaten this as a main. Very generous portions, great service, and a lovely view! Our best meal in Jasper.

Ankit Curchorcar

best wings ever and the poutine was super cheap too, got a ton of food for the whole family under $40 ^^

Guy Peled

nice selection of seafood and fish dishes. loved the flavors - seafood stew, ravioli, and the salad were superb. house bread was nice and fragrant with herbs. sadly had no room for desert. server was not knowledgeable about the wines, but otherwise all was great.

Kaijuu

Location was great: easy to find and there's patio seating. Service was good for how busy it was: we went during dinner time. Prices were insane for what the food was: we expected to pay a premium (understandably) but with what we got, it feels excessive. Food was good but not for the price. Even the bread served wasn't even warmed or heated, and the butter was just those standard little plastic packets you get at a hotel continental breakfast. COVID: this place was packed and I don't think they paid any mind to the capacity and air-flow in the venue.

michael aiello

Great service and terrific food

Pride of Everest

Our favourite place in town.Food is amazing.

Shoaib Alam

Awesome customer service, nice ambiance and very tasty food, quantity and quality were well above my expectations. Please visit this place during your stay in Jesper. Two thumbs up to all staff members.

S H Lim

Restaurant opens 5pm- 10pm daily 7 days a week. Excellent service and very pleasant staff. For the soup the Seafood Crowder was good. The appetiser, the Pork Strudel and the Cod Cakes were excellent. For the mains Fiddle in a Pot is not to be missed. Couldn't stop thinking of the homemade maple cheese cake we had from the other night and had to have dinner here the second night to hv the cake again! Another great dessert is Greedy O'Grady...surprise yourself????

Paul Louis

One of the best restaurants in Jasper. We had the Alaskan King Crab and the oven baked Salmon. Delicious! Be sure to make a reservation. Great place.

Cara Stark

The food was awesome as was the atmosphere, view and friendly staff.

Cindy Allaire

Nice restaurant! Staff is friendly and food is good. My boyfriend had an under cooked salmon, but the waitress was great and offered several options to him. Cheese cake was amazing !!

I loved it. We ordered elk stroganoff and fish pot. Both were delicious, specially fish. Tomato soup was not good.

Mia Lauren

Amazing restaurant! Good drinks, great food, and fantastic service! The social distancing of the tables is also very organized.

Paii Chaaum

Love it !! Food was really great. Staff was amazing !

Bob Zahlmann

Our favorite place for dinner when we get to Jasper. Mussels are delicious. Good food and good service. Make a reservation

Hristina GR

One of the nicest restaurants in jasper, was pretty, cozy, good food selections, the food could be a little less tacky looking and choice of vegetables, two different meals, same vegetables, eek. Very nice staff, it was better than the fairmont that's for sure, overall nice, but could be perfect if they tried a lake harder!?

Elizabeth Sim

My partner and I had an enjoyable dinner at Fiddle River. We went into our experience knowing Fiddle River is a more upscale option, which explains the higher prices; however, that is to be expected with wild game. My partner had the elk stroganoff and I had the wild game pasta. The stroganoff was a very large portion and the meat was tender/flavourful. The wild game pasta was also a large portion and had a unique mixture of meat with juicy cherry tomatoes. Lastly, the service was excellent. Overall, Fiddle River is a great option for an upscale dinner in Jasper!

Jenna Mogck

Modern twists on home style meals.

Paula Vásquez

Excellent restaurant. loved it excellent service congratulations.super delicious food

I have to give 1 start because I can not give 0 star. This restaurant supposed to be a higher end place. One of the dish we had was supposed to be their signature dish, chewy shrimp with uncooked lobster, that was sent back and according to the chef, who was from Newfoundland, it was not cooked enough and it was re-fired and brought back to be served again, we complained again because now it was dried out due to re-fire, but by them we didn't want try it for the 3rd time, appetite was gone. The other dish was an overcooked, dried salmon with dry rice, that according to the manager "there was nothing wrong with it". When the bill came the waitress was so embarrassed so they sent a supervisor to ensure that we were going to pay for this raw lobster and all they offered a 20% employee discount, nothing more and wouldn't budge on it. We spoke many people who are working in the restaurant industry, they didn't believe what we went through and they said the restaurant should have not charged us for raw lobster.

Nick Granger-Brown

Lovely place to eat. A good mix of tasty cuisine and a homely, friendly atmosphere. I'm sure they do fish well but we came for the bison meatballs and elk stroganoff which were delicious.

Taha Ahmed

Great food for meat alternatives. It's seafood after all!

Mackenzie Godwin

They easily accommodated 16 of us with a reservation. I had the 3 course lobster and shrimp, salad and the greedy o Grady dessert. I cannot say enough about the quality of food. Perfectly sized portions left us satisfied, and even the simplest of sides like rice were executed very well. They are advertised as a seafood restaurant, however their 8oz AAA peppercorn sirloin was cooked to medium more accurately than most steakhouses. I would give more stars if i could. It's on the pricier end of the spectrum, but worth every penny!

Sebastian Mills

Outstanding WILD GAME-FISH.. Fine dining at its best Superb view of mountains and the heritage train station from this restaurant. Fabulous menu..High standard of artistic dishes, which were invariably enjoyed. The Alberta stroganoff of Elk was flavourful and tender.. duck roast was ‘melt in your mouth’ experience. Halibut cakes were crisp yet soft from inside.. Canadian wines were excellent to pair with elk dish/ seafood.. try baked Brie. staff recommended the chocolate lava cake baked fresh to order. Thank you for the best anniversary dinner. PEARL IN THE ROCKIES

Samyadev Datta

Very good food and great ambience. Highly recommend

Andrew Daley

Love the friendly staff and amazing meals . We try to go here once a month !

Vivek Joshi

Stopped by for a late lunch while in the area. Seated out on their patio where service and hospitality from Kasia was splendid. Their Bison Meatball with Bannock was just the right portion, as was their Fiddle Salad; for a light lunch. Washed down by a glass of Pilsner draft. Chef Sushant took the trouble to list a few items on their menu for one of us with dietary restrictions - should we decide to stop by again - which was going over-and-above and much appreciated. We did stop by for supper, their Fiddle Pot and their Mussels - both in a saffron-and-tomato broth - were just right. Again: the Chef went the extra mile to put together a simple platter of dessert taking into consideration said dietary restrictions, and Pam took care of us as we spent a quiet evening on the patio. Definitely a recommended option for dining when in Jasper, where the food matches the hospitality - and then some.

Dwayne Smith

Great food and great service

Jenny Wu

Overall ambience and service was great. Food was good for a restaurant in small town like Jasper.

Dean Fraser

Really good food. Service was quite good.

Yanxin Wang

Great seafood! Tried the fish skewer. It was a nice fish and shrimp skewer served with three types of sauces, rice, toasted vegetables and edamame. My wife had the lobster and shrimp. Also taste good.

Russ RJD

Excellent food in rustic atmosphere in Jasper

Richard Rothery

Excellent food. Service was excellent.

Kayla Charles

So happy we FINALLY ordered from this place! We were able to order for take out recently and it was fantastic. Had the fish and chips (best freaken fish and chips I've had), the coconut shrimp app (BEST ones we've had) and the chowder (fuull of great stuff). Not to mention we received wonderful service. If you're hesitating, don't. Just order.

Serena Ward

Excellent homemade food with plenty of choice on the menu. Even the herb bread was great! Ceviche as a starter was delicious, full of flavour and served with corn chips. I had another starter as a main, the excellent fish Chowder, with several fish, mussels, prawn and a clam. A big serving for a starter, I was full after these two, but wanted to taste a dessert! The mixed red fruit pie with ice cream, not bad and coffee was good! Definitely will come back here, service very friendly from an all woman team... maybe the man was slaving behind the stove??!!

Harritron

Delicious gourmet meals served here with good service!

Soumen Halder

I was there 3 years ago wanted to this time as well but it was full. I am very upset about it. That explains how good it was. Little expensive but worth it

Ivy Nyabera

Austin was the most perfect server I have had. Food was amazing and it was a good atmosphere. ????

Jose Joaquin

Great atmosphere, Friendly Staff but mediocre food. Had fish dish, forget what it's called. Too salty. Also had the elk stroganoff, was blend and dry. Not much flavour to the meat. The roasted veg that came with the two dishes weren't roasted! Looked like they didn't have enough time to be properly roasted. Maybe ordered the wrong things. Definitely not worth the 100 dollar.

Sudeshna Bhattacharya

Great food.

Rosamond Branch

The food and service was very good.????❤️

Charlie Wang (CharlesLanding)

Service was really good. It was so cute having the specials board brought to your table. Overall I think the prices are more aligned with fine dining spots. The schnitzel was a huge portion. I think the bill coming to 100+ made me rethink it but had a really good time.

K. Osgood

Very good food. I had the shrimp and lobster and the presentation was very nice. It came with 12 shrimp on 2 skewers and a small lobster tail with drawn butter, rice and mixed vegetables. Reasonable price too.

Erdith Nofuente

Delicious food. Will definitely be back

Vanessa Clinton

This was recommended by the Rocky Mountaineer announcer on our train - it really just seemed like tourist food - more focused on being "unique and local cuisine!" than on actually being good food. My shrimp was overcooked, the lobster was just okay. The wild game Bolognese was just a basic Bolognese - nothing particularly special. The mussels were actually pretty good, in all fairness - really liked them. Generally speaking though, outshined by the restaurant below it.

Vanessa Igloo

Absolutely delicious. Only complaint? Unclean and wet plates for our main and appetizers.

Margaret Dallimore

Great food, great price, excellent service.

Vibhash Sharma

Best in service, food in town very courteous staff would be back whenever possible

Jennifer Zetterstrom

Excellent food and excellent service. Good adherence to Covid policies but not overbearing. Patio dining was a great experience, even in the rain. Plenty of umbrellas and awnings to keep us dry. Would highly recommend.

Ken Tran

Good food and service but a little pricey. The smoked seafood chowder was great. The braised elk stroganoff just tasted like beef.

Jessie Mo

Fish pot is very delicious!! The shrimp and the laboster were very good. There are many people wait for the table, go before to have a reservations will be better.

Debra Arndt

Great salad.hubby not impressed with soup

Andrew Loughlin

Consistently great food and great service. One of Jasper's best restaurants.

Rachelle Gallant

Make a reservation as this restaurant is top choice when dinning in Jasper, The wildmushroom toast was phenomenal, lovely meaty texture and cheesy. ( I have a severe nut allergy, waitress was aware. But my dish came out with pesto so I had to question it, was delighted to know their pesto is nut free!!) Lobster and shrimps was perfection, top 3 of best lobster I've ever eaten. The bison meatballs with ripe cheese curds smothered in a savory gravy stole my heart ! The touch of Ligonberry on top was just the right amount of sweetness. Top to bottom the good is amazing, the service is exceptional and everyone makes you feel at home.

karen pritchard

Great food, very friendly staff. Good prices.

Adam Beswick

Food awesome. Service, meh. Just didn’t feel welcome. The severs were not friendly and had some form of strange sarcasm going on. Wouldn’t return because of that.

Doug Biden

Pretty good seafood for this far inland. Best we've had in Jasper. Reasonable prices too. That's rare in the Rockies. I had Halibut. She had fish cakes. Friendly service. I tried a Canadian white blend on the blind. Very good. From BC. I should try more of those.

Dave Boyle

More expensive than an average restaurant, but the food is far superior to the average restaurant!

Sarah Christiansen

I took my girlfriend for our first weekend away and wanted to surprise her with a nice takeaway dinner. I researched this restaurant ahead of time and the menu looked really beautiful, as did the photos. However, upon receiving our order, the food just simply didn't match the menu descriptions. The 'smoked' chowder was not smoked whatsoever and had huge chunks of what seemed to be canned salmon. The fish cakes also tasted like they were made from canned fish. The mushroom bruschetta was rubbery and soggy. The coconut prawns were advertised on the menu as "tiger prawns," and the site photos depicted large, lightly crusted prawns- however the shrimp we were served looked nothing like this. They were small, heavily battered and tasted exactly like Costco brand coconut shrimp- the kind you would dump out of a box and bake for a casual party. I am certain they were boxed and not made fresh in-house. Finally, the "cinnamon bannock" was not bannock (bannock dough baked in the oven as a quickbread) but the smallest pieces of frybread (fried bannock dough) I have ever seen, and very poorly cooked- gluey, tough and over cooked, and tasted like they were cooked in old fish grease. The 'haskap berry jam' was not a fruit preserve at all. It was just some cooked-down berries. I guess the reason why I feel so ripped off isn't because the food was 'bad' per se- it was just really average, diner-quality food and I paid $120 including tip.

Douglas Scheible

One of the best meals i have ever had, right from the first bite of the salmon appetizer, to the last bite of the lobster tail and shrimp. We will be back!

Kate Willis

The food is exquisite! We enjoyed the dynamic flavour profiles of each dish. My husband really likes game meat and seafood and the selection here is superb. They also have a wide array of cocktails and wine.

Nikki Stoddart

Fresh, creative and beautifully presented food and cocktails In a cozy dining room overlooking mountains and railroads. Highly recommend! Strongly recommend the wild boar pasta, BC mushroom bruschetta, and the coconut seafood fisherman's stew. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening here

Irtaza Tahir

This must have been one of the most amazing restaurants I've been to in Canada. I had there Fiddle Fish pot, a hearty rich dish, full of seafood (although I didn't have any salmon in mine) - the muscles and clams were done to perfection, and the hint of the fennel in the broth was quite nice. I also had their Maple pecan cheesecake for dessert. It looked homemade and it tasted amazing - not too sweet and a great way to end the evening. There was a slight hint of clove or excess nutmeg in the cheesecake which made it similar to a pumpkin spice sort of flavour – it wasn't bad, just slightly unexpected but it did kick up the flavour profile a notch. Perhaps even more amazing than the food was the service at the restaurant. My server (Lony (sp?))was very kind and quite engaged and it was a pleasure speaking with her. Moreover the restaurant has a really amazing views of Signal Hill and the surrounding mountains. I would definitely recommend going here. So i came back a second time...i had their smoked seafood chowder, candied salmon and chocolate souffle. Again, the food hit beyond my expectations and the service was exceptional as well.

Bryan Synn

Pricey but that's Jasper

K R

Good service and a cute setting - but grossly overpriced. Food was poor quality without any flavor. Disappointing.

Paul Senior

Excellent service and the best food in town as always.

Samantha Simpson

The food was fabulous. Got the boar belly a d shrimp appetizer and both my sister and I had the lobster tail and shrimp meal. The portions were the perfect size. The atmosphere makes the place appear very fancy, and lighting sets an intimate tone. Highly recommended. Must try.

Jonathan Simpson

It might have been a good restaurant but the staff refused to serve us at 9:30, they wouldn't even sell us beverages. I am extremely let down. Montanas down the road however was ready to serve!

Jason Yue

Great food! Exceptional service!! A must visit if you are in Jasper

Thomas Quiring

Food was pretty good, tho prices are a bit steep for what it was. Guess that's to be expected in a more touristy town like Jasper tho. People were also kind of packed inside the dining room. Not exactly covid safe if you are concerned about this.

calvin stewart

A Cozy Restaurant for a good night out. Good service and great food. We had the Schnitzel which was huge and also the shrimp and lobster which was very well cooked

Garry Schaffel

I have been going to Fiddle River for about 8 years now. I have never had a meal that I didn't love. The staff are friendly and the food is great.

Sharrine Blundell

I dine at fiddle River, every time I visit Jasper. The menu is diverse and the flavours their chef puts together are unbelievable. I have never had a bad meal. Joanne has been my server petty much every time, and she is pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. I love that this restaurant has fine dining cuisine but a very cozy and comfortable atmosphere. I look forward to dinner here again during my next visit. ( the butternut squash ravioli is to die for)

Jackie Yau

Staff are nice but food can be better. Menu seem to be too big for this restaurant size. May wanna stay focus on a few dishes instead.

Joe Radice

Deçent food except bad oysters were sent out and the responsible person never came over to apologize. Waitress handled it well. Some dishes were over salted, my wild game pasta was pretty good. Would have been 4 stars if not for the oysters.

Aleksandra Blazejczak

Food was absolutely delicious, our server was lovely and we had a great time!

Amanda Clifford

Highly recommend the pork appetizer. It was the best thing I have tasted all year and I normally do not eat or like pork. Drinks were spot on and my crab was good. The waitress was awesome. Will come again.

Kevin Jones

Nice to be able to get good seafood in Jasper! If they've got boar belly appetizers on the menu when you're there, order double portions. The Fiddle Pot stew was chock full of every imaginable sea creature and the broth was divine. The staff was lovely and the whole experience was a great way to kick off our vacation.

Kathryn Huber

Overall a really good place! Though I think the prices are a bit high on some of the menu items. Also it was weird that the sauce on the new York strip tasted the exact same as the sauce on my pasta, but it was still yummy. But the service is great and if you sit next to the Windows it's a good view.

Nadia Macdonald

Good food and good service. I'll be back next time we are here.

Anthony Tysiakiewicz

Best restaurant/dining experience I’ve had in Japer. 10/10 service and quality will be back and will recommend!

mesiclane

Elk stroganoff, best I ever had! Good service. Good selection of elk, bison, etc, cooked beautifully. Plenty of gf options.

Chad C.

Every Bite was DELICIOUS! Expertly prepared and presented! Wild Mushroom Brushetta, Avocado-Seafood Ceviche, Canadian Elk Stroganoff...!!! Sofa King DELICIOUS!!

Chris Tanner

Great quality food, good service, lovely art on the walls!

Stephen Coomey

Absolutely brutal, $165 meal for two. Fish cake appitizer: microwaved and no flavour. Brie cheese appetizer: tiny portion. Elk entrée: tiny portion, flavorless, cut so thin it was cold. Steak AAA appetizer: horrible piece of meat, was not AAA Alberta beef, chewy. Shrimp side: fresh water shrimp from grocery store, from frozen. Alaskan crab side: dried out completely, and flavorless, $ 18 for one leg. Unfortunately for tourists in Jasper this is the quality that they have to put up with. Really bad reflection on Jasper.

Trudy Nastiuk

This is a must stop every time we head to Jasper. The ambiance, service & food is excellent. During the off season, they offer a 3-course meal for $39 that can't be beat!

Brenda Knudsen

An amazing dinner and exceptional service!

Nicole Ward

Absolutely fantastic menu, executed precisely. The blue cheese mussels are wonderful, the wild game pasta is exquisite, and the seafood chowder was incredible. Delicious ingredients, wonderful staff, friendly and helpful with beautiful views.

Lansud

Very good seafood place. Ordered specials halibut and fish and chips. Fish and chips were on the dot, crispy on the outside and soft and juicy on the inside. A bit smelly but I expect that in fish and chips. Halibut was perfect, with right amount of sauce and and crusted pumpkin seeds. Below is the overall rating I would give this place compared to others in the area. Price: 4 stars - abit expensive but understandable with the food quality Food: 4.5 stars - delicious, require a little bit less frying on the fries and a little more resting time to drain the oil. Service - 4 stars - waitress always checked if we were lacking anything

Aaron McDonald

Food was really substandard. I ordered the 'Wild Game Pasta'. It had an elk sausage which tasted like a hotdog weiner. The rest of the dish felt like I was eating Chef Boyardee from a can. Definitely not worth the $31. When the staff seats you they also put this chalk board on an easel at your table with the specials...really weird. The only silver lining was the wait staff.

Azadeh Dailamsalehi

The setting, decor, that dim light was so so good and just increased my appetite. Our server was a lovely lady tried to help us with the menu choice. Variety selections of seafood. I enjoyed have dinner there.

Trevor P

We had the Duck Poutine, Fettucine "Funghi" Tiger Prawns, and the Confit Duck. From the time ordering online to the knock on the door was less than 30 minutes!! Great online ordering, great service, and most of all fantastic food!!! Thanks for the Duck fix :)

Travis Bergen

Second time there now The service and food are to die for I'd highly recommend going there

Alan Pasfield

Great seafood chowder and also enjoyed the Alaskan crab. Highly recommended.

Hassanr Sattar

Food was really good, nice place for dinner, friendly staff and good rates

Kim Kim

Great food and service!!

Marlaine Osgood

Delicious seafood and wild game; vegetarian options. Friendly service.

Britt N

My seafood loving family was thrilled to find such good seafood in jasper. Everything was delicious.

Lori Fowler

One of the best dining experiences we have had. The atmosphere was cozy and the staff were incredible. We choose various dishes from the menu to enjoy a selection of seafood and wild game options. Everything was beyond delicious. Highly recommend this spot if you are staying in Jasper.

Anne Chauvet

The Arctic char was absolutely delicious. Our server was wonderful and the views were fantastic from the rooftop patio. Would definitely come again in the future!

Tamara Sinclair

We went with a group of friends and all the meals were delicious! Comfortable and cozy environment.

Justin Lee

Ordered the 3 course meal, the lobster and prawns..... the lobster was so spoiled that it tasted like drinking ammonia and bleach. So rancid that the ammonia smell burnt my nose and mouth. Don't think I'll ever eat lobster again. Like this is a seafood restaurant not denny's. The chef should have smelled the ammonia while it was cooking. Go somewhere else

Aqsa Arshad

Visited this restaurant for my 1 night stay in Jasper and was blown away with their service. Such friendly staff and very accommodating as well. Had my 3 year old niece with us and they provided us with half of the portion size (& half the price) for the Channa masala as my niece didn't want anything from the kids menu. I ordered the fettuccine pasta but could've had a bit more flavour to it, although my husband really liked it, and ordered the fish and chips which also could've had a bit more flavour. However, the coconut shrimp for our appetizer was very good along with a yummy sauce! Thank you for an amazing experience!

Cliff Huber

Delicious food excellent service

Hannah Williamson

Great food - particularly the burgers. We didn't complete the Mount Robson Challenge, but really enjoyed the flavors. Everything was cooked perfectly. Nice atmosphere, the Gin flight was perfect. Highly reccomend

Flower Bar

Excellent choice if you are looking to dine where the locals go and a nice dinner. Great service.

Braden Bulmer

The food was fresh and delicious. Had the fish and chips for an appetizer, and the fish pot and the elk dish. Recommend them all! Full of flavour. The perfect compliment to the food was our server Pam, who recommended the dishes and made the dining experience both personal and delightful. All the best to her and I hope the restaurant knows how fortunate they are to have her.

Emily O'Shea

This place was lined up just to get in. Seemd to be very popular. The partner and I ordered an appetizer of coconut shrimp, fish and chips for me and he got the AAA steak. The menu was quite pricey and the service was sub par. One lady seated us, one took our order, another was bussing tables and the last one took our payment. Took 15 minutes to get a drink after we ordered it. We had to flag someone down to get our food ordered. I thought the menu looked good but as I said before, pricey. The coconut shrimp: $13 for 6 pieces. Ouch. Shrimp was butterfly cut and battered. Seemed like the same stuff I buy from superstore in the frozen pre-maid section. Fish and Chips: $25 for 3 pieces of pre-maid and frozen fish sticks that probably also came from a box. Fine breadcrumb battered fish on a pile of seasoned home cut, shoe string fries. Fries were alright. Steak: $45 for a 8oz New York steak. Served very, very lightly seasoned with mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies. Veggies were spaghetti squash, one quarter of a grilled pepper and one piece of asparagus. Potatoes and gravy were the vest part. Steak was cooked well although was ordered medium rare.

Nathalie STpier

The food was excellent and we received a very friendly service. I recommend this restaurant when you visit Jasper

K Thornton

We've eaten here several times and the food has always been awesome. This evening, one of our party felt unwell just after we ordered. We fully intended to settle the bill for the drinks we had received (but barely touched) and entrees, had kitchen started to cook, but were completely surprised when they said there was no charge. Excellent customer service all round.

Hauke Hoffmann

Great food, friendly Service.

Pete Cherniawsky

Amazing food, staff and atmosphere!!!

Mariana Guerra

Wonderful dining room.. best view of Jasper mountains. The food is very good, fresh salads n organic local vegetables. The halibut was fresh and moist, good martinis The staff is friendly n service is very attentive. Cake with maple syrup n nuts was the best dessert..the Mexican chipotle chicken soup was perfect on spice and flavour. We ate here two nights in a row.

deepak panda

Great food... I personally loved the variety.. Would highly recommend the coconut shrimp and Lobster and Shrimp..

Chalsee Comstock

Great birthday dinner! Waitress was excellent, food was amazing and the dessert was devine!!

Cheryl Crow

One of our favorite restaurants that we travel to from Leduc ..... we always have have an amazing server and her name is Lynn who goes above and beyond expectations she is definitely an asset to your restaurant

Dan Omoigui

The food and service were both exceptional. The soup of the day (butternut squash) was fantastic, as were the main courses. We will definitely dine here again on our next stay in Jasper.

Paige Liang

The food was really disappointing. All the meat were overcooked. We ordered the New York steak and it is much smaller than the pictures from the reviews. The soup and the service was ok.

Dan Mackell

The steak was terrible. Much smaller than what they sold it as, very gristly and served in a bath of gravy by default. Definitely not worth the money. We left hungry and stopped at another restaurant. The best thing about this place is the fries.

Connie Carter

Love the food and wine. Great service.

Klaus

Best place in jasper. Prices are fair and food is great. I ordered the elk stroganof that was amazing. I suggest to make reservation in time because it can be full Pretty soon.

Christa Keetch

Great service and delicious food. My daughter had her heart set on a roof top dinner and they went above to make sure we got a table. We hadn't planned on eating much after snacking all day but the food was so good we couldn't resist! We will be back everytime we visit Jasper! Thanks for everything

Grace Myers

Cool atmosphere, great music and delicious food, but it takes too long to wait for the service.

アレックス

Cozy atmosphere, good service, great food, good drinks, good dessert options etc... I see no reason to give them anything other than 5 stars.

Rosie Smith

Fantastic restaurant with lots of choice of fish and meat. We ate here on our first night in Jasper and ended up coming back the following day as well!!

Ramona Fehr

The flavours were wonderful. I especially liked the arctic char in fillo pastry. It melted in your mouth. Nice distancing of tables in these challenging times.

Graham Schmit

Fabulous dinner, great service! My partner and I each got a three course dinner. I had the snapper, she had the elk/bison meatloaf. I could not have asked for a better romantic evening. Would recommend to anyone looking for a unique, low key dining experience.

Claudia Conti-Perkins

Best crab, bison steak, chicken noodle soup and the tempura fish & fishcake delightful. Thank you.

John O'Brien

Excellent food and service.

Alex Carr

The shrimp were rubber, the lobster was bland, the cod was falvourless. As a resturant that serves seafood, their seafood was of terrible quality and was very very far from being worth the hefty price tag of the meals. Also there was a dill sauce on each plate that was not described in the in menu as being present that left a very undesirable flavor on the vegetables and accompaniments of the courses. The service was also poor, after two courses of food being left unfinished, the server did not inquire if there was a problem with the food or if something could be done to improve the experiance. Would not reccomend this to someone who enjoys seafood, or is looking to try it for the first time, this is a poor example of what seafood should be.

Jehad Abu-Ulbeh

The location is nice as it's on the second floor and you can look outside. Staff are very friendly and service is very good. Food is not as great as I was hoping and overly priced for the quality. My halibut and salmon cakes were delicious, but the presentation is not great. But they were tasty and not fishy. But my vegetarian ricotta and kale ravioli was not good at all. It tasted bitter and the sauce watered down. I informed the waitress who offered to get me something but there was nothing else I wanted. She was extremely nice and gave it to me for half price. My husband dish (fish pot) was ok but the brooth too runny. Too pricey for the quality.

Maria Trang

Very good restaurant for family in Jasper downtown. I like staffs here, very friendly and gave me a comfortable feeling. We sat near the window and can see Jasper night life when eating. Good food and acceptable prices, highly recommended.

Beenish Ramdenee

Very good food and good service.

Karin L

Dinner was fantastic and the service was excellent! We had the Fish Cakes for an appetizer. It was a fantastic choice. Crunchy with great flavour. We both had the Fish Pot, absolutely amazing! We had no room for dessert … maybe next time.

Mohammad Jabir

Amazing food. Would definitely recommend for couples.

Olga Morozova-Gelmici

Good restaurant, good service, easy to book. As for the food, my expectations were higher. The appetizer was very good (smoked salmon and salad), but the main course (lobster and shrimp) was absolutely nothing special. It was well done, but nothing to remember or speak about.

John Bjerke

Very nice. Great service and amazing sea food. Had the halibut special and the artic char both were great. Also got the red snapper kids meal which was excellent. The creme brule is a must unbelievably delicious.

TLS Sutherland

My favorite spot for dinner in Jasper. Food is amazing, service is great and value for money. Highly recommended.

Chris Galbraith

Came for dinner last month after running around all day. Nice views from the second floor and our server was very good. The wine list was fairly varied and we settled on a familiar bottle of Spice Jar from Lake Breeze. The Mushroom bruschetta was outstanding and the Fish pot was exactly what was described in the menu and certainly hit the spot on a cold day. The only item that I did not care for was the french onion soup which I found to be lukewarm towards the top of the bowl and fairly warm towards the bottom. All in all a very nice place that was cozy, and more than worth their menu prices.

Scot Frank

Really great food and service with a view of beautiful Jasper.

Lloyd wiebe

Wow. This is incredible. We are in Jasper celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary. 8/8/80. This was by far,the best food we have ever eaten on our many Anniversaries. No disappointments. Thanks so so much. Love it.

Kim Swift

I ate dinner here on 11 July 2019 and felt lucky to get a table on the patio with no wait, but my experience somehow got progressively better!! I ordered a pear cider which was so good I needed to order another one. Having never had elk before, I took a shot with the elk stroganoff and it was absolutely delicious!! If it were so easy I would ship some home to family to gorge themselves on. Also, the service was great and I left there very happy! Very well done to everyone at Fiddle River Restaurant! Thank you.

greg Or

NOISY! This is definitely not the place to go if you want to have a quiet dinner. It was a lot like being in a nightclub. Otherwise, the food was pretty good. Everything was cooked well and the portions sizes were decent. We did find ourselves wanting more sauce on our mains and the meals that said "crusted" weren't really crusted at all. Overall, the dinning experience was not a pleasant one because of the noise, but the service was great and the food was still good enough to call it a fair night.

aaahhhchew

The AAAAA steak I had was amazing. The fish they over cook but that's ok because I wasn't the one who ordered the fish but I did taste it and it was over cooked without question. For my meal it was a very good steak and I will go back for sure next time I am in Jasper. This place is excellent and the staff are very good as well.

Stephen Wright

Lovely restaurant, highly recommend

Ian Illingworth

Great ambience and each of our party of four enjoyed their meals

Sharon M.

Excellent service & great food. We really enjoyed everything. The food was hot and tasty and our server was terrific. Highly reccomend it.

Cara Reed

Lovely service, felt very safe as they took great care with COVID19 protocols...and the Seafood Chowder....OMG...delicious! A definite must...we had the fish and chips and the panko crust was so light and crispy ....but we still couldn't manage dessert...

Lee Foreman

Just finished having a wonderful experience here. I had the pork belly which was super delicious. As a main I had the halibut special with the green curry, again it too was fantastic. Such a special evening celebrating our wedding anniversary. We'll definately be back.

Janet Kiggins

A place you must go visit. The flavors , delicious

Susie Ritchie

Amazing food and service! I had the halibut and would definitely have it again, although my daughters fish and chips had me drooling lol. Too many things I wanted to try. Will be back...

Michael Zhuhovitsky

Great service and atmosphere. enjoyed the specials.

Kayleigh Harris

One of the best restaurants in Jasper with a fantastic view of the train station and the mountains. You can often see trains coming in and Elk crossing over the tracks. Always lovely service, and delicious specials, a real taste of the Rockies. The crab cakes are an absolute must, and the schnitzel is among the finest I've had outside of Germany.

Christine Runge

Elk stroganoff was pretty average.

Alicia Milligan

The food is stunning. They support local artists with the decor. Not expensive for being a fancy steakhouse setting and beyond high quality food. Supper specials etc... Alberta wild game, AAA Alberta beef, and pacific seafood. Delicious. Okay the best part, truly the food was great, but, the best part was the service; like, they care and take pride in providing us with the best possible experience. I would absolutely go back without a second thought, next time I am in Jasper. P.s. the main waitress is a pro. Total smoke-showbabe in her late 40's early 50's with amazing laugh and really cool boots. Ha ha we seriously had an awesome time. Thanks

Dave Mathieson

Wonderful food to go with the amazing views and with passionate and friendly service and a bonus of their local knowledge of things we should do. Highly recommend the authentic local Jasper experience.

Went to Fiddle River Restaurant for dinner with my wife after hiking all day in Jasper. The quality, variety, presentation, service and taste could only be described by one word, "excellence". I never imagined that I can get such an absolute treat in a tourist town like Jasper. From appetizers (coconut shrimp and candied salmon), to entrees (Fiddle fish pot and West Coast Snapper) to dessert (baked chocolate souffle with ice cream) everything was absolutely perfect and heavenly. The waitress who served us was a charming lady who knew how to serve gourmet food. I may visit Jasper in future just to repeat this culinary experience. My wife also shares my sentiments.

Real good food! You have to reserve because it's a popular restaurant. Of course, I would say it's the best place to eat in Jasper. The prices can be expensive (25-50$). I took the mussels with the white wine and cream sauce and it was divine! It's in the appetizers if I remember, but the portion is way enough for a main course (16 or 20$). They also serve local beers.

Thank you for the tourtier. It was delicious and the apple and tomato chutney that came with it was amazing. Happy Holidays and all the best in 2021. Hoping we can make it a new family tradition.

Had an amazing time with wonderful service. The meatloaf was so tasty. Hubby had the Elk strognoff, said it was melt in your mouth.

Loved it! Food was delicious! I really felt like the menu offerings were super unique and that the flavor combinations seemed very alberta-esque. Staff was very friendly with great local tips and suggestions on things to experience. I would recommend it as a must food experience in Jasper!

The atmosphere is great, cozy and quiet. The food was good, nothing exceptional we had the coconut prawns, seafood chowder and the special of the day which was Atlantic Salmon in Thai soup. The service was really friendly and quick. A safe choice for some seafood, family dinner / date.
