Evil Dave’s second chance. I believe everyone can have a bad day. Second time was much better than round 1. For starters we had the Cowboy Sushi. Very nice and fresh with some great flavour. The Crazy Gyoza were very tasty with a nice sauce for dipping and some fresh slaw on the side. The El Diablo Chicken was very nice. Nice heat, not overpowering allowing you to still enjoy the flavours of the dish. Chicken was nicely cooked and moist. The Karma Curry with chicken was also very tasty. Very nice Thai Curry sauce with nicely cooked veggies and rice. Service this time was excellent and the atmosphere in the new space is very inviting and spacious. I would definitely recommend as a nice place to enjoy some nicely spiced and flavoured dishes.

The menu isn’t huge but the food is tasty. We appreciated the large portion sizes and the drink selections were great. We found service was a little slow when it didn’t appear super busy and it was a fair bit chilly in the restaurant but overall it was a good place to go!

The small plates are good. Our favorite is the Holy Cow. I was less pleased with the Covid-19 hygiene. The staff often didn't have their masks on in the back and our waitress wasn't wearing hers properly over the nose.

It's off the main drive and a smaller location so either make reservations or prepare for a wait during peak times. The wait will be worth it if you have to. We got lucky and were able to walk in. The service was spot on and the food was incredible. If you find yourself in Jasper and want a great meal, stop in here!

Appetizers were good. Wait time was way too long. Main coarse was awful. Typhoon noodles were plain and tasteless. Asked for extra sauce but it took 10-15 mins to come by then it was too late. They did take some money off the bill for it. I had red curry meal. Had to go get some nachos after somewhere else to fill up. Won't ever go back.

ZERO STARS!!!!!! WORST RESTAURANT IN JASPER!!!! My boyfriend and I had just finished hiking the skyline trail 44km (27 miles) and were starving. We were looking for a great meal and chose here due to the good reviews. We made reservations and when we arrived, we waited for several minutes at the hostess stand for someone to greet us. A waiter and waitress were whispering to each other by the bar and looking at us with weird looks on their face- maybe because we looked like we just hiked 27 miles!! We did not feel welcomed. We ordered the family meal to split which was one of the most expensive menu items- had some of everything. Nothing was good! Anything would have tasted good to famished hikers who hadn’t eaten real food for two days. It was probably the worst meal we have ever had. When I asked the waiter the meaning behind the name of the restaurant, he didn’t have anything to say. Bad food and service!!! Would never recommend to anyone. We didn’t even leave a tip!

We ate dinner here today. The restaurant is now in it's new location and is very nice inside. We had the prime rib burger with cheese added and fries. It was ok. I kind of expected a bit more for paying $30 for a burger and glass of water. I think the food was rather plain. Our server was very friendly and personable.

You can't miss the chance of having a dinner if you are at Jasper. This one is one of the best restaurants we (myself and my spouse) visited in our lifetime. Their Hell's Chicken is one of the best grill chicken meal we had. They also did justice with the Malicious Salmon (however it is not in the best Salmon in our list). The service is also paired with the food quality and taste. A little pricy - but considering the quality and taste - it is definitely a value for fine meal.

We had dinner here two weeks ago. We had a very nice table with comfy seats. The waiter was friendly and not too present, which I like. We orderd the salmon twice. It tasted great, but mine was a little bit overcoocked. I know, that is just a minor thing, because the rest of the dish was great. We had two cocktails, an old fashioned and Gin-cocktail. They tasted fine, but mine, the old fashioned, missed 'the extra sparkle'. The dessert was.. OK. We had the three desserts to share. The chocolate mousse, which they say has to be light and fluffy, was heavy. Not a mousse at all. The cheesecake tasted like cheesecake, but my all time fav dessert was the apple cake with maple syrup. Delicious! We had a very nice evening, with nice and tasty food. When in Jasper, visit this place for good and tasty food in a enjoyable place. We'll be back! :-)

It's a good place for amazing food. Although bang for your buck. It's not good barely any chicken in the hell's chicken. Barely any rice. The portion they do give you though is cooked really well. If they had better portions I would give them 5 star review. My only reason for a 2 star review is super low portioning with their food. I actually left hungry. Super big wine list if you are a wine drinker. They also have recommended drinks depending on what meal you have which is also really nice to see

I usually don't trust restaurant reviews (although I contribute quite a bit myself - trying to represent Asian tastes I guess) because sometimes I just don't have the same taste in food as the majority here. But I put my trust in the google community with this one because the reviewers seemed to all come from different "backgrounds" and everyone seemed to genuinely, thoroughly enjoy the food here. So glad we made that decision because this was definitely one of the best restaurants I've ever been to in Alberta! The flavors were so wonderful and the menu was creative and diverse. You can't go wrong with Evil Dave's. I only have a photo of our appy order - the Beautiful Brie (a whole wheel of brie cheese, deep fried and bathing in pear purée and balsamic vinaigrette) because it was a bit dark in the restaurant so the photos weren't doing the place much justice. But yes, come to Evil Dave's if you're ever in Jasper!

Great fast meal. Wasn't expecting our meals to be out as quick as they were. We ordered the chicken and waffles, bison and boar bacon meatloaf, and typhoon noodles with shrimp. All were an excellent portion for the price and we all left stuffed. The banana spring roll was the best way to end my meal. 5/5 will definitely be back.

It was a disappointment to find out they are serving Grade A beef for the " Chef's choice". For the title AAA or sterling silver would be more fitting. I ordered the noodle bowl and it was low on flavor and interest. Decor and staff were pleasant but I'll pass on this one next time.

We had a very confusing experience here at Evil Dave's. When we went in, a table was separated from the main restaurant space and placed behind a wooden separator and we were seated there. The reason given to us was that we did not have a reservation. Barely 15 minutes into being seated, we saw atleast four groups without reservation being welcomed in and seated at various tables. Now I'm not actually calling out the folks for being racist (I'm from India) , but would definitely be nice to get an explanation from them as to why. As for the food, we ordered the spicy bruschetta and the green onion bread, both of which were really good! The entrees we ordered unfortunately didn't have much to write home about and also came to our table, an hour after we gave the order. The waitress was very sweet and attended to us well. We left the place, not wanting to let one undesirable experience ruin our holiday but we're definitely disappointed.

I went for dinner with my family and had a fantastic experience. Every item we ordered was delicious. I ordered the malevolent meatloaf and I had holy cow as an appetizer which is now my new all time fav. Our server was friendly and attentive. It was very busy, I would recommend you make a reservation. If you have never eaten at Evil Dave's I highly recommend you do. You won't be disappointed.

Came here on a quiet Tuesday night. Started with the Holy Cow as an appetizer for two. Beef was on point, well-flavoured and tasty. Got the Hell's chicken as well as the Malicious Salmon. Chicken was done well, tasty and well seasoned. Salmon was moist and done well, crusted to perfection. Medley of vegetables that accompanied both dishes were flavourful and cooked with consistency yielding both succulent flavours and textures. The only shame is that the Tenderloin was already sold out for 8pm on a weeknight. Would come back just for that in the future.

Waiter was very accommodating. We did appetizers and they were excellent! Brie, cowboy sushi, chicken lettuce wraps, naan bread and Holy Cow were excellent. The only disappointment was the daily special that was tenderloin strips that were charred on the outside and raw on the inside and not very tender. Meatloaf was good along with the tuna and salmon entrees. Desserts came in little Mason jars so were small but flavorful.

Terrible food at fine dining costs. The steak special was bland, inedible and accompanied by a sad parade of from-frozen vegetables. Salmon and rice similarly was a leathery bust, like a slightly bigger kids meal available at an office food court. I don’t cook often, but I’m really confident I could teach a kid to prepare better versions of those two meals. I am in no way exaggerating this assessment. Server was indifferent and unhelpful. Way overpriced menu, including drinks, nothing to recommend this place.

We had heard so many great things about this place and so made a reservation for our family trip. We were quite disappointed in the quality of the food and offerings. All of the food had a similar flavour - lots of heat but not much taste. They also said they could do gluten free and confirmed that they take extra precautions, etc however I didn't even make it out of the restaurant before I was ill. It ruined our weekend trip up there for our family as I was so ill from my dinner. Kids meals were actually bigger than the adult meals which was odd.

Ahhhmazing food. Seriously. Order appetizers. We had cowboy sushi, lollipop shrimp and the beef one (can't remember the name) where you get the shrimp at a discount if you get it. The beef tenderloin main dish was good. My husband loved it. The triple desserts were incredible too. Try those!! Service was good but we knew it would be slow after reading the reviews. It's so fresh we didn't mind and I thought food came out appropriately timed...it just took a minute to order. They were busy! Put your name in with front and give them your phone number to get texted if your table is early. Great system there!

First tme here. Never have I had such a bad server. Didn't clean the dirty dishes off and she walked passed about a million times. Got food and before I could ask for anything gone. Never asked how the food was. I wanted some soy sauce for the rice and couldn't get it. She threw the bill on the table and walked off without a word. Then started to argue with us about how we were the problem when we didnt say anything to her. The other person I was with food was cold and couldn't even tell her be the server wouldnt even look at us. Very disappointed since it was recommended to me by friends.

While on holiday, we decided to have dinner here on the recommendation of a local shop owner. The food is fresh and fabulous! Hell’s Chicken, El Diablo Chicken, and the Malevolent Meatloaf were divinely delicious. Our server Jen was absolutely fantastic! She gave impeccable service with genuine interactions. Even provided us with a dessert for our anniversary. Food is a touch pricey. But we brought in a bottle of wine and paid the corkage fee which very reasonable. All of the food was beyond words. Tried three appetizers and one entree (all vegetarian). What stood our forel me was the included parimgs for wine within the menu. Highly recommended if you are in the Jasper area and dontind spending around 25$ and entree. A plus is I love jazz and they play the funkyiest music all night. Not intruding, just mellow and smooth

We called at 242 pm and spoke to a male with an accent who told us they had a busy night ahead, but could get us in before 5:15 or after 8:15. We chose the after 8:15 spot and gave a name and phone number for 8:30pm. We got there at 8:29, we waited for a bit at the door to be greeted only to be asked if it was a reservation for 2. We said we had a reservation for 4 under my friends name, the guy went and looked, came back with an iPad saying he had nothing and no tables. He didn't even try to figure something out just said he didn't have us. Not very accommodating.

Service here was amazing, when we walked in as we waited to be seated we observed Jesse do a little something special for a couple who was their for their annual anniversary and then again to the table beside them as they had just moments before got engaged but yes service even for us was amazing. The food is okay as I had high expectations based on the reviews on Google. However, there some dishes that are good such as the shrimp skewered appetizer even the coleslaw was delicious. The service is good as the server is friendly. However the food dragged down the score as it was okay and nothing spectacular. The portion is not that big for some dishes. Most likely I will not return to this restaurant.

Someone recommended evil Dave to us so we went to try it out. Worst decision ever. The food all had the same taste. It was all very sweet. We used to stop for dinner often while visiting Jasper. After a poor meal last year we gave this spot a second try. Unfortunately we found the food bland, over cooked and overpriced. The Hells Chicken was dry and was prepared the same in the chow mein. The salmon was also dry and overcooked. The meatloaf was the only tasty dish ordered. Old Fashion was mixed with soda...that's wrong for sure. There won't be another visit. Sad it was once a favorite.

We held our Wedding Reception here at Evil Dave's Grill The staff was excellent and helped us every step of the way to pick out the food, customize the menu, set-up music and re-arrange the seating. Throughout the night the staff was making sure that everything was going as planned. We can't say enough about how special Mike and the staff at Evil Dave's made our day. Oh and the food was out of the world. Months after our event we still have people talking about how great the food was. Highly highly recommended!

Was pleasantly surprised by the food. It definitely had a Latin infusion and they did a great job. We were lucky to get in and it was packed. Cocktails were awesome too. Would highly recommend this place.

Great service, warm and friendly. Food was very good. Only negative comment was the decor was rather sterile. Although very new, they need to add some ambiance. Softer lighting and accessories would certainly help to "warm" it up.

Really not sure what this place was going for...We decided to try this place as it seemed to have a lot of really good reviews. There were a lot of asian inspired dishes, but they just miss the mark. The old fashioned I was overly sweet. The cowboy sushi is $17, and we were expecting there to be a decent amount of tenderloin in it (we were in Alberta, after all), but there were super tiny shreds that didn't amount to much! Some of the slices of sushi we had we could barely make out the shreds of meat. The in house menu said "pad thai", but was no where near it....too much runny sauce that tasted more like a curry sauce, and used chow mein instead of rice noodles. Even if it was going for something else, it just wasn't good. Everything was just really overpriced for what we got.

Had the pleasure of eating here after a long snowy day driving from Edmonton. Service was excellent and very friendly. I had their signature meatloaf dish and was pleasantly surprised. While a tad pricey, it was quite tasty. One other reviewer I read didn't feel it was worth the price... i can't argue the point but your taste buds wont be disappointed. My wife had the salmon and loved it. My 7 y old had the chicken fingers (what else is new) and liked them. It is a small open space and lacks a little for romantic ambiance but it is charming and worth the visit. We will come back

The service as great, the decor is cool. But, I would not go again. The food was okay. I had their FAMOUS meat loaf and was highly let down. It was no better than the meatloaf recipe from Americas Test Kitchen you can make at home. The mashed potatoes where not smooth and tasted as if they where in a fridge for a week. A $26.99 meatloaf meal better be the best damn meatloaf I have ever had. I have had and made better. I just truly do not think it was worth the money, too high a price point for a diner meal.

Nice atmosphere. Appetizers were amazing. Steak price was misquoted, and steak had a lot of fat on it. 1/3 of steaks were fat. Get anything other than steak. Server seemed to be the only one, he did well considering they had a full restaurant the entire evening.

While in Jasper with a group, We ate at Evil Dave's. Our experience was exceptional. The food was great, probably the best I've had in Alberta. The Service was outstanding. All around great experience. I would recommend to anyone seeking a dining experience beyond the norm.

Had a great dinner and ordered a chef’s cut prime rib steak recommended by our server. Steak was tender and unforgettably delicious. Drinks are a bit on the pricey side but the main courses are very reasonable for theirs value. Got a good vibe and nice environment. Definitely recommend and will return.
