Our appetizer came very late and because of the inexperienced waiter, the food came right away and they didn’t really understand the issue at first and also didn’t bother to make our food again so it wouldn’t get cold, instead they took the appetizer away, served us our food and gave us one desert as an apology. Despite the bad service the lamb shank was very delicious!!

The food here was absolutely amazing. I had the duck and it was perfect. The portions are just the right size and not overflowing off your plate. Same with the desert, they are not too big. You don't feel disgustingly full after. Our waiter was great and was helpful recommending things.

Amazing amazing amazing food! I had the wild mushroom ravioli and my partner had the gnocchi. The ravioli was absolutely wonderful. Creamy, rich, perfectly seasoned, pasta wonderfully cooked. Service was great as well. Not much of a wait at the time that we went, basically got sat at the patio right away. Highly recommend.

I used to really like this restaurant, but since it has changed hands recently the food was not up to the prices that they are charging, the pasta and gnocchi tasted like it was the usual dried superstore sort the grilled chicken came 5 mins later for my gnocchi which was as tough as old boots, there was no mushrooms in the pasta dish but listed in the menu , and I thought the waiter was quit rude.... I personally think that you could do much better than this serving Italian cuisine....

Great food great service. Had four entrees with our group. Duck, mushroom ravioli, steak and salmon. Bruschetta and calamari apps and cordial shots for dessert. All wonderful! Atmosphere could use improvement and entrance is a little hidden. Otherwise great food!

Mediocre food. High prices. Brought us olive oil. Tasted like nothing, literally. Asked what it was: olive Pomace oil. The lowest quality oil that can stilled be called olive oil, without any of the heart healthy benefits of extra virgin or even virgin. Ordered Alberta Angus steak. Tough and dry. Spaghetti blah! Don't go. Save your money.

Exceptional service and all around good food. A great place to go and have a family dinner. Waiter credit our bill as they forgot something on my lamb shank. I didn't ask for anything, but they credited the entire bill anyways. Definitely worth the trip up the stairs.

Went here for dinner with my girlfriend and was very impressed! The server was very knowledgeable on the menu and gave us great recommendations for the food. At the end of the meal, the owner gave my girlfriend and I champagne for being “the most romantic couple”! So thoughtful and nice of them. Overall was an outstanding experience.

We were told / read jasper food was all touristy and not to expect much in terms of quality / price. They were wrong. This place had amazingly friendly staff. The portion was massive. We had calamari to start and it was huge for 2 people. The pastas were double the size you would get at a usual Italian place and the price was good. Pasta was all cooked well and the sauces were flavourful. I highly recommend this place. We reserved ahead of time on open table but they had room for walk in. The patio is nice as it is upstairs so you get a nice view without the ton of people walking right by you.

We were walking around Jasper looking for a place to have dinner and decided to wander upstairs to try them out. It was later in the evening around 7:45 pm. The restaurant was only a 1/4 full but we were refused service because we didn't have a reservation. There was nowhere on any of their front signs that declared reservation was required People don't always check Google to see what a restaurant's Covid protocol would be. This is also the first restaurant we've ever been turned away from when they had ample seating. I may have understood it if the restaurant was full. People do need to eat, especially when they can prove they're fully vaccinated.

This place is amazing! It's one of the few places in Jasper that has a few different vegetarian options. The service was awesome and the food came so quickly. We had the mushroom ravioli and the seafood pasta. The ravioli had a delicious and unique 4 cheese sauce. At the end of the meal, we enjoyed a perfectly light panna cotta topped with a ginger sauce and were treated to complimentary champagne as it was a special occasion. I will definitely be back!

Heard about this place through our accommodation owner and when we mentioned to our tour guide for the ice walk, and at the Jasper Lodge, people said this is an excellent place to try. We did and truly enjoyed our meal. Food and service is well done.

Not your standard fare for an Italian restaurant. No lasagna or spaghetti and meatballs here. A little more upscale than that. My husband had the mushroom ravioli, which was really good.... However he ordered the regular size, which was not really enough for a dinner portion, so I would suggest you order the large serving for dinner. I had the salmon. It came with roasted potatoes, broccoli, brussel sprouts, baby tomatoes and kale, and a sauce that was so delicious! The service was excellent and they were very conscientious about Covid (staff wearing masks, tables well distanced from each other, etc,). I would highly recommend coming here for a nice dinner.

The shrimp was raw. Duck was well done, when ordered medium. From one regular sized arranchini, they made four. Ravioli was counted? FOOD WAS BLAND. The server hovered over us so that we would be rushed out. The reservation was for 9PM. They close at 9PM. Informed them it was my birthday, at least they made it memorable by being infamous. Tax, tip and total came to over $93 CAD. ????

Walked out after waiting 2 hours for our mains. The waiter had come back after 15 minutes to confirm our order and after another 25 to say that one of the items was unavailable. Then, we waited and waited as diners who’d arrived after us got and ate their full orders, and left. The quality of the food wasn’t the issue (the apps were fine), but rather, the unacceptable delays.

It's always tough committing to a restaurant in a 'resort' or 'holiday' town. So many of them can be tourist traps, even if you check the reviews out. But we were in the mood for Italian, and this one seemed to tick the box, so in we went... only to be told they were completely full and wouldn't have a table for another 45 minutes. It was lively and folks looked to be having fun, so we decided to lock it in. When we returned it was much quieter. Our server was a lovely, friendly lady - engaging without being overbearing - and brought the food out quickly. We loved our pasta dish (ragu), and the meatballs appetizer - but the seafood dish was a bit of a miss, so we left it mostly untouched. Our server noticed, asked us if it was okay, and we simply said it wasn't to our taste - brussel sprouts didn't work in the soup, we thought - and left it at that. She said she'd let the chef know, and when she returned with the bill a few minutes later, she'd taken it off! Such excellent service and we were quite shocked and most appreciative. Loved the experience and the pasta. Would definitely visit again.

The atmosphere was lacking for “fine dining” it was dated and infested with flies. Food had good tastes and meat portions but pricing was on the high end. The drinks were pricy and very average. Won’t be back but didn’t hate it. Left full but wasn’t anything special.

Had the oxtail, and strongly recommend if you're up for something heavier and rich in flavour. Overall a nice location, good service, spacious and not overly noisy, and solid flavours and menu choices. The only criticism against this place is the state of their physical menus is abysmal, with multiple dishes being impossible to fully read through the descriptions of due to excess wear. Laminating these to prevent wear and make them easier to clean in the age of COVID is an obvious move that this place should seriously consider.

The food is excellent! We had the Lamb with Polenta and the Oxtail with Papardele, it was amazing! Now the deserts and the sangria are average but we didn't go for that. If you want quality food excellent taste this is the place to dine!

Had a really great time here with family and friends after a day on the trails. The food was great and the staff was very friendly and professional, wonderful atmosphere! Highly recommend the oxtail papardele and the lamb brasata, paired with Jackson Triggs cabarnet which was a true treat (Canadian wine that we loved). The kids pastas were also really high quality as well. Thanks for a unique experience!

My friend and I dined here on the last weekend of July 2017. Without a doubt one of the better meals we had on our 2017 summer travels and I have been meaning to write a review since. Excellent and very attentive service, clean and comfortable setting. We dined on the patio and enjoyed a few birds hanging around and watching the street down below. Started the meal off with a bruschetta sampler that was delicious and adventurous. The mains were absolutely wonderful and I still think back about how rich the cheese sauce was on my pasta. The meal made a absolutely wonderful day complete. Thanks again!

Probably one of the best food moments I've had this year. Excellent service, staff very knowledgeable about specific dietary needs, food is incredible, definitely the first place you should should eat in Jasper if you have time to sit down. Gluten free options were plenty, with modifications - and the flavours did not suffer one bit. We ordered the duck and short rib penne and loved every bite. Dont leave Jasper without coming to the ALBA! The Braised Rib Rigatoni is excellent!! Original cocktails at good prices! Was with 2 friends, they had the steak and the seafood pasta no complaints at all. Service was excellent, very personable and answered all questions with a smile. Even the cooks came out to ask how the food was. I will be coming back again.

ALBA $130 + $27 TIP Our experience at ALBA was pleasant. Service was professional and prompt. However, whenever the server came to ask how we were enjoying our meal, he used language like, “It’s good, right.” Not a question, but a statement. This left us little room, without being confrontational, to comment. And not everything was good. See below for our order and comments: Calamari ☹️ - too chewy, not crispy, despite being referred to as “Crispy Calamari” in the menu and recommended by the server. It tasted of grease, which fried food should never do, and wasn’t as hot as it should be. Beef carpaccio ????????- very tasty. Good portion size. Garlic baguette w/ oil & balsamic ????- eaten with the beef carpaccio. Two more halves would have been perfect. Lamb shank with creamy polenta????????- excellent flavour, well seasoned and nice presentation. The lamb was soft and flaked off the bone. Polenta was delicious and the cherry tomatoes added a great balance to the dish with sweet acidity cutting some of the richness of the lamb and cream. Oxtail ragu w/ wide & long flat pasta????- Rich and unctuous; however, it needed more flavour notes and some acidity to give balance. More mushrooms could have been added. The oxtail itself was delicious. Tiramisu - caramel mascarpone with a maraschino cherry ????- I prefer a traditional tiramisu. The maraschino cherry added sweetness this dessert did not need and created an artificial flavour to the dessert. The mascarpone had a caramel flavour added, too sweet, and there wasn’t enough expresso soaked lady fingers in the dessert. It was served in a plastic martini glass, which really cheapened the overall presentation. Chocolate ganache cheesecake ???? - nothing special about this dessert. When asked, my husband said, “We could have made this at home.” So tasty, but it didn’t stand out as anything special.

I admit I had some reservations eating Italian in a small town in Canada but wow did they impress. The food was very delicious (pasta carbonara is a MUST) and the service was mind-blowingly good. It's run by a cute couple where the husband (from E.Berlin) does most of the table service and the wife seemed to work behind the counter, but were both so welcoming. A few examples will demonstrate what I'm talking about: 1) My wife was cold and had her poofy jacket on. A waiter noticed and asked if we'd like to move. They quickly set up a new table in a warmer section of the restaurant and even turned off the ceiling fan. 2) I was super thirsty and drank my water fast. The owner refilled the water super quick and I thought it might be fun to see how fast he'd react, so I chugged my 2nd glass, then 3rd. By the fourth glass, he brought out a very large glass with ice water and a straw and said "figured this might be easier." We all got a good laugh. All in all, such a special dinner and can't recommend this place higher for future visitors.

We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary at Alba and what a disappointment the food was. The lamb dish was horrible! The lamb smelled raw and had no flavoring (boiled in water). I had the mezzo rigatoni and it had no flavour, no salt or pepper! Service started out great but ended poorly, we had to wait for a good 15-20 minutes for our desert and when it delayed we asked to get our desert to go and was then brought out. For the highend price the quality was NOT high end at all!

The place is up two flights of stairs. For dinner time, I definitely recommend making a reservation. The space was nice and simple and they did not over pack people in there. Food was so delicious. We had the lamb and it fell off the bone succulently. We also had the mushroom ravioli and it was lovingly rich. The tiramisu was not traditional and I wouldn't call it tiramisu but it was yummy also. Prices were expected. The service was fantastic. We would come again, in fact we plan to.

My friends loved this place when we dined here. Took us a few tries before finally getting to taste the food so I guess early reservation is good. Service is attentive and awesome. James, our waiter, offers good humour and local insights as well as detailed explanation of the menu. The food is done to perfection. I would not say this is high end price but might a few Abit costly for some. The value for the price paid is exceeds expectation way and above.

Was pleasantly surprised, not you typical local Italian restaurant. The place had a cozy, family feel, the staff was very pleasant and food I ordered was good, definitely worth a few more visits to try the rest of the menu. They were very accommodating and very understanding, my guest could not have cheese, keeping in mind it is an Italian restaurant. They ordered a salad, but it came with Parmesan on it, as soon as the staff were made aware, they immediately swapped it out, didn't even charge us for it. All in all, definitely worth a visit.

Was refused service when restaurant was half full. When we asked if we can make a reservation for tomorrow, the waitress said one word: "call". We asked why we cannot make reservation in the restaurant, she said "we are busy". We understand things can get busy, but the communication definitely has some room for improvement. There are plenty of good restaurants around, we will not go there again.

Easily one of the best restaurants in Jasper, hands down! The Carbonara alla Jasper was my very first carbonara dish to ever try and I don't think I'll ever be able to eat any other carbonara dishes except this one (meaning I'd have to drive 4 hours every single time ????). The amount of pasta you receive is reasonable for the price point as well so you definitely get your money's worth! I'd also recommend the Side of Bread Basket as it perfectly pairs with the Carbonara alla Jasper ☺️ Either way, whatever you choose, it's a treat. Compliments to the chef, the workers, and the owner of the restaurant! 11/10 would recommend going here and will DEFINITELY be going back again!

Losing a star for trying to charge me for the drink that was returned (flat coke) and was not consumed. Other then that the food and service were good, although I would not call it authentic Italian. E.g. both Tiramisu and Panna Cotta are very different from what you get in Italy, although still good in its own way. Oxtail and wild mushroom ravioli are recommended. Calamari appetizer also was very good.

We have been here twice. The first time we ordered duck confit and it was quite delicious. This time round we decided to go with seafood pot and the beefsteak. The soup was a bit salty to my taste, but it was relatively good. The beefsteak however came out as medium well-done instead of medium and was bland. Although the service was good and attentive, the pasta dishes we ordered were not good. The Mezzi Rigatoni and the Oxtail (shown in the pictures) were indistinguishable except for the pasta. The sauce was on the salty side and was not what we were expecting.

Anyone who gives this restaurant anything less than a 5 star review obviously has a grudge against nice thing. The food in a word: Phenomenal. The pappardelle with duck confit: the noodles were cooked to perfection, the flavour combined with the duck was perfection. The mezzi rigatoni: again the noodles were cooked to perfection and the flavours worked so well. The mushroom ravioli (can't remember the exact name): for someone who doesn't like mushrooms I can only say try it and it will change your point of view. The spaghetti was just on point as the rest of the dishes. The presentation as seen in the photos is also some of the best I've seen. The price isn't outrageous especially for the AMAZING service we recieved and I'm not lying when I say our waiter went above and beyond with everything and I mean everything. Never were our water glasses dry, he would explain everything with such enjoyment it was wonderful. The desserts again were incredible. All 3 were delicious and rich just the way they should be. This place earns my highest respect and anyone who travels through should stop in for a visit. It's a one in a million place and they should not be forgotten.

The Pasta was delicious – baked awesomely filled with crust and meat toppings. Don’t know about other Italian cuisines, but the pizza was YUMMY!

I think the portion sizes were great, it doesn’t look like a lot but we were too full for dessert after having the arancini to start, and then fresh bread (with EVOO and balsamic) with our main pasta dishes. Great food. I have been there twice and the oxtail pasta was perfect, the Japser Pasta with the egg yok is also perfect. Beautiful flavors, freindly staff and an upstairs patio whre you can see the town and mountains. But be warned you should be there right at opening and/or have the eairlest reservation as it fills up fast.

Pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. The orders came out perfectly timed. The arancini was delicious and very light appetizer. Carbonara and the mushrooms ravioli were phenomenal. Both sauces were creamy and flavourful. Definitely would eat here again when we go back to Jasper.

Of the places we went in Jasper, this was our favourite. The food tasted great, especially the calamari is a good starter. Our others were good too, but that's a stand out. The lamb was cooked well and all the flavours blended well. The mushroom ravioli were perfect. The desserts were great too. I just wish they didn't put olive oil into the balsamic for the bread. Doesn't blend well and you just get olive oil on your bread. The staff was friendly.

Went to Alba with my husband for a date night, and we’ll definitely be back next time we visit Jasper! Risotto balls were AMAZING, as was the calamari and bread with oil & vinegar for dipping. One of those hidden places you may not have known existed before, but definitely worth the visit!

We ordered the seafood pot, seafood spaghetti and carbonara for take out and they told us it was going to be a 30-45 minute wait. Sure it was peak time at 7pm and we were willing to wait while walking around the city even though we were hungry just like everyone else. 15 minutes later they called us and said that they were sold out of the seafood and asked us to pick something else off the menu... Not a pleasant experience given that they could have checked with the kitchen before informing us that ALL their seafood was sold out...

Absolutely delicious!! We ordered takeout from here after seeing the menu on the street front. It was ready in good time, price was right, and it was SO GOOD! Portion sizes were huge. I had the lamb shank with polenta and my fiancé had the oxtail pasta. We both kept making annoying food eating sounds we enjoyed it so much. I dropped into Alba on a local's recommendation and as a first time visitor to Jasper I found it a welcoming and pleasurable experience. I'm a solo traveller and I received a warm welcome and was seated by a window so I could enjoy the outlook. After a late lunch I only needed a light meal and their calamari was the perfect answer! I was regularly checked on by the wait staff and owners to ensure that everything was satisfactory and I would have to say that it was nice to be looked after so well. The winning smiles of the waitresses are testimony to the happy workplace they enjoy, so well done Alba and I have no hesitation in recommending it to fellow travellers!

Ok, so first off the food looked amazing, as in very showy and impressive. My first thought was that it was all show and probably tasted rubbish. I WAS WRONG. The food was unbelievable! The combinations of flavours were so clever and they worked so well. Genuinely this was the best place in Jasper. The staff were great too - really engaging and friendly. They had great timing and really topped a perfect dinner out. (Also the prices were very reasonable for what we got). If you could only go to one place for dinner in Jasper go here.

My wife, toddler and I arrived to an empty restaurant at 5:30pm on Friday October 18-2019. The server Roman (I believe owner also) was amazing. We ordered the Gnocchi and Mushroom Ravioli. Both were perfect. Price is reasonable. He took the time to make sure everything was good multiple times, and was very personable. Upon leaving, only another three tables were seated. Surprised, because of how good everything was. 5 star, will be back when we return to Jasper.

Spent time going through their menu to find food for take outg. Called and was told to hold on a second until they figure out if they do takeout. They said they don't do take out at the moment because their kitchen is small and they get backed up however they have a few tables available. So they didn't get our business, their empty tables remained available and their small kitchen can remain unclogged. Can't speak for the food but they were not very accommodating especially when they had empty tables (and thus capacity in the kitchen for cooking food for takeout).

Had the leg of lamb it was exceptional, there wasnt really a side with it though, it was 40.00 and didnt come with much of a side, unless the garnish of soggy arugula on top was intended to eat.. atmosphere was intimate with small tables and tight quarters but very bright which took from th romance. There was sneakers in the bathroom which was strange, and not just 1, 2 or 3 pairs. Good meal, probably wont be back.

The steak is very good but the calamari are not that great compared to those in Italy and Spain. The waitress was also a bit pushy on taking a first course instead of only a main. All in all, we didn't regret eating there but would not visit again knowing the quality of the neighbouring restaurants.

By far the most disappointing food I had in my 8 days stay at Jasper. The amount of butter salt and fat is their food is unbearable, your body will naturally reject that, with reflux and pain and vomit. I'm very surprised by their high rating and fooled to eat there, horrible food, high price tag and a very unattractive ambiance. It is a tippical tourist trap. Their understanding of italian culinary skills is very limited, by adding tons of butter and garlic and salt they to their food they fool you.

Amazing place for Italian food. This restaurant is situated on the second level of the building with good signage on the main floor to direct you with the entrance. The Hugo drink is perfect if you are looking for something light tasting, sweet and refreshing. You won't be disappointed in the food. If you want a good appetizer, the ginger carrot soup has a good balance of all the ingredients without tasting overwhelming in any flavor. Lillian provided amazing service, super attentive, funny and friendly. Would definitely come back

My girlfriend took me here for my birthday and our anniversary last weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service. We were the first customers for their new waitress and she performed like she was a veteran of the restaurant. Her and the owners were very friendly and accommodating. The carpaccio was perfect as well as the carbonara. The cherry on top was the beautifully presented custom birthday dessert. I'd highly recommend this restaurant and will be returning on my next trip .

Value is definitely lacking at this restaurant. Wasnt happy with portion sizes. $56 in pasta wasnt enough to satisfy 2 people. Unnecessary amount of cutlery lol. Unpictured is the small dessert for $6. Flavor was good but definitely felt like processed pasta.

We had the calamari & a half platter of smoked salmon + cream cheese which was great! For Entrées we had the mushroom ravioli (which is mushroom-y so make sure you’re okay with that) and the Lamb; both were excellent! Had the Affogato for dessert which is espresso poured over vanilla ice cream and I highly recommend it. We got a bottle of the Ruffino Chanti red wine and we couldn’t get enough! Loved this place, our server was very attentive and friendly, food was terrific, highly suggest Alba.

I only ate out once while in the Rockies so I'm not sure if this is just the kind of quality of food you get in these touristy places but it was really not great so I'm not sure why it's rated so high. Although I'm a small town business owner myself, I think I'd suggest trying a chain if you're eating out and trying to play it safe

Had a great experience last night at Alba! Service was speedy even though we were a big group, and the food was absolutely delicious. I'll definitely be going back for the pappardelle with duck confit. The drinks were so tasty, I'd highly recommend the amaretto sour. The atmosphere was great, and the staff were all very friendly and accommodating. I'll be back for sure!

Terrible restaurant, bad and expensive food posing as Italian cuisine. First restaurant on our holiday in Jasper and were seated at a table with a bunch of flies next to it very uncomfortable. Moved to a new table was serve beer that was flat, I didn’t care cause I was tired from the drive so I drink it anyways and ordered lamb shank.Was looking forward to the lamb it arrived tasted very gamey like it had been sitting in the kitchen for too long. My wife ordered the pasta and it was uninspiring. Stay away from this place
