I bought my first car from here (an Acura TL) just two days ago!! This dealership is great, they ensure that all of their cars (including used ones) are safe and reasonably priced so that first time owners like myself can find both affordability and quality. Our sales associate, Sam, was very friendly and welcoming right when we walked in. He took time to understand what my preferences were and he was approachable and easy to talk to. We never felt Sam pushing us or forcing us to purchase the car, which made it much easier to be open and honest with him. One of the managers, Tola, was also a pleasure to talk to. He was very professional and honest about the specs of the used vehicle we purchased. We appreciated that a lot. Our experience at downtown Toyota was fantastic, and I recommend that you go here if you are looking to purchase a car. They care about you and will try their best to make sure you walk out in confidence.

I took my car in to do work and they quoted me at more $150 more than the Canadian Tire shop I ended up getting the work done at. They also tried to get me to sign off one the work before seeing the price and kept trying to add on work that didn't need to be done. The whole experience was characterized by bad faith. I would strongly encourage anyone who needs to get work done to go anywhere else.

Have used the service department a few times here. The prices are reasonable, but the staff are the reason I continue to come back. They're very friendly, professional, comunicative, thorough and left my car cleaner than I left it. I'd recommend shopping around and getting quotes before your service as they'll often adjust their prices based on competitive quotes. Due to this service I'll likely shop with them for a new car when my lease ends.

Though we live a 10-minute walk from this place and have been going here for service for 7 years my wife and I will never take our RAV4 back for anything more than an oil change. Morning staff seems put out to have to do intake at opening. Communication is poor to non-existent and you can spend all day waiting to find out what's going on with your car. Lack of respect for customers led in our case to unaddressed drivetrain noise that was extremely expensive to repair (propeller shaft and front bearings needed replacing) when we finally got it looked at by competent service professionals at Toyota Scarborough.

We had to buy a new car soon and my husband said to try the Downtown Toyota because of a lot of good review. I wanted to try RAV4 and Corolla. My son Justin loves to have toyota RAV4 for our new car. When we went there, Wilbert Ma came to help us. We stayed there for 5 hours to get to the decision point. A lot of questions and many procedures to get to the price for us. I had to trade my old Camry ,too. Actually I didn't think I had to decide on that day. However, for a long 5 hour help from Wilbert Ma, we thought it was ok to buy a car there right away. Wilbert Ma was very helpful for us and he was not pushing us for selling a car. Sometimes we see many salesperson to push the customers to sell something. However, we didn't feel anything like that from him. He made us feel comfortable and we felt he was very honest and kind to a client. I could trust what he was saying to us. We really appreciate his service and we will definitely come back next time when we need to buy a new car again. I will recomend him to my friend,too.

I went to this Toyota location to check on a tire with a slow leak. I waited for them to assess my car for over an hour. They told me then that I needed a new tire and it would cost about $210 all together. I reluctantly agreed, even though it seemed a bit pricey. I waited for another 30 min. and eventually asked why it was taking so long and was promised (in a somewhat impatient way) that it would only be another 30 min. Once 45 min passed, I walked over to get my car and leave. A technician saw me and ran over to the tire rack, promising me it would take 15 minutes. I politely asked him to put the tire back and told him that I was leaving, as the wait was entirely unreasonable. I told the customer agent too, and she simply said "ok" and gave me my keys. No apology, didn't seem to care. I then proceeded to Tire Connection in North York (worth the trip), where they not only assessed the damage on the spot but also only charged me $160 for the tire with taxes, labour and balancing. Would not ever come back to this Toyota.

I dropped by Downtown Toyota this week to pick up a 2nd car for the family. I have to say that it was one of the most stress-free, relaxed, and pleasurable car-buying experiences I’ve ever had. Our sale rep Tony was excellent; he was personable, relaxed, not pushy and surprisingly candid about the vehicles we looked at. I went in prepared for a hard protracted negotiation with lots of ins-outs and “let me consult with the manager” type tactics, but instead we sat down, discussed price, he even put the manager on speaker phone so we could hear exactly what was discussed and we settled on a price in less that 15minutes! What he promised, he delivered 100% with no surprises. The entire team was very considerate and respectful; a pleasant change from the high pressure “slick” salespeople I’ve dealt with in the past. I’m normally quite conservative in giving recommendations on google, but in this instance, I would would strongly recommend Downtown Toyota and particularly recommend seeking out Tony, I’d definitely go back if I had space for a third car! :)

I had the pleasure of buying my new SUV from Nima. He was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain all the features of the 2022 Toyota RAV 4 XLE I purchased. Nima took the extra time asking questions to find the vehicle that suited my needs best. You could tell he wasn’t just in it for the sale and genuinely cared about the customer. I was estimated to receive the vehicle in 2-3 months due to supply chain issues but Nima went above and beyond, the vehicle was delivered in about 5 weeks! I was in the process of moving out of the city with a tight deadline for when I needed the vehicle and he made it happen. As a first time car buyer I did not feel pressured any time during the process and all my questions were answered professionally and with kindness. I highly recommend Nima for anyone purchasing a vehicle from this dealership!

I wish I could give them half star rating. If you wanna buy the parts from them, it’s good if they have it in stock, if they don’t and it’s a special order they have to place and if they promise that they gonna arrange it for you the next day, trust me they are lying. All the best to someone who is placing a special order with them, I would recommend go and place the other to some other dealers. It’s been almost 10 days and I still haven’t received the part. The worst part was I called them before going and without checking someone on the phone confirmed that the part is now available. When I went to collect the same, someone else at the parts told me that the part was still in transit Awful service

Don't ever go to this Toyota if you need an oil change and want your car back that day. I dropped my car off first thing in the morning, the people at the front desk told me it was only going to take an hour to an hour and a half, I was fine with that so I waited and waited and waited... Ended up being 3hrs for an oil change and to change my wipers. I don't know what their technicians are doing back there but it seems like they don't know at all what they're doing, if it takes that long to get my car done then that technician needs to be fired. People that came in an hour after me to get their car done were out of there in 30 mins. It's not like I was getting my suspension done. And no apologies at the end, nothing. If you bought your Toyota at another dealership don't bring it here, it's only a 5 min drive from my house but I'll never be going here again.

I have a good experience and a bad experience with Downtown toyota. Purchasing the car was the good experience, dealing with them was fine, but it ends there, because the first time I went there to get service is when they pointed the finger at me saying I did something wrong. The problem started in Mar 2014, the car at this point had 11K on it, practically brand new still. There's a huge crack in the front bumper. I did not hit anything and no one hit me, I know the event happened between when I left home and when I arrived at my destination, if I had hit someone or someone hit me I would have known because I was in the car the whole time. I took the car to the dealer the next day, Curtis Premdas was the service manager who looked at the car. Curtis said this is not covered under warranty, but he couldn't tell me why not, all he kept saying was "if this was a problem with toyota, we would have all sorts of cars coming here for the same problem". I then wrote to toyota canada, waste of time, because they just told me to go back to the dealer. So I contacted the general manager, Jenan Culic. Jenan asked to see the car, I took it to him the same day, they put it on the hoist, but you could see they were scratching their heads because they couldn't figure out how this happened, there were no marks on the bumper that would indicate an impact to crack the bumper. Long story short, Jenan Culic said Toyota would not cover the repair because it's not a warranty item. This is my first experience with Toyota, and my last, I'm sure not all dealers are like this, but I would not recommend anyone deal with Downtown toyota for these reasons. They are quick to point the finger at the client, even if they don't have any proof the client is in the wrong, They don't stand behind their product, when you don't have an explanation or proof, you give the customer the benefit of the doubt.

I was looking for a used Toyota Corolla as my best choice and also as a first time buyer. I was hanged on website for about 1 months but my mind finally pushed me to visit Certified Toyota Dealers. I have gone to look for Corolla but I got chance to compare with Yaris. Finally I bought Yaris by comparing the difference between two models in mileage, fuel ecomomy, low insurance etc. Because of impressive and helpful nature of Dean Dwyer , his commitment and great deal to sell the best one they have had, I am able to make quick decision with confident. I had a terrible experience with a Toyota dealer in the Westend, so coming here I was skeptical .(They all must be the same) NOPE! I got amazing service and information from my sales Rep Ali and Tonya the amazing Financier was Spectacular. She got me a great deal and offered me some incentives too! This was a Saturday and we closed the deal, I had to let Tonya know about some things by Monday! well emails going back and forth and she's replying to me at like 11pm on a SUNDAY.. the service was amazing, purchased my car on April 1, 2021.i noticed a bulge in my front right tire on April 15, I didn't even drive 100km.. I went straight to downtown Toyota. no one looked at my car, staff told me to drive home and someone will call me. the staff assured me that I was not in any danger, the tire was drivable., Toyota never called after 3 days I called Toyota, only to be told I did not purchase the warranty on the tires. I didn't think a bulge in the tire was a serious problem, remember the staff assured me the tire was drivable. GUESS WHAT .....MY TIRE EXPLODED WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THANK GOD NO ONE WAS KILLED. Been just over a week after a wonderful used car purchase experience - really was smooth and informative. Dean Dwyer was very professional and helpful in assisting us decide on the 2011 Sienna as was all the other of his colleagues at Downtown Toyota. His down to earth advice was assuring. Dean had no problems letting our family friend/mechanic take a look at the vehicle beforehand who gave us the nod with a big smile. We knew it was a "Gem" and it was just a matter of time before it got picked up so we jumped at the opportunity. One thing I thought was a nice bonus was the whole vehicle ownership transfer thing - where I only needed to provide a few bits of pertinent data to Dean and poof! We recently purchased the new 2019 Toyota Rav 4 and the sales person we worked with was Antonio Polera and he was fantastic, as is the vehicle. He went above and beyond in his service to us, even coming in early once to meet us when our schedule was very tight and meeting us after his regular shift one night for the same reason. We were hugely appreciative. But even above the working around our crazy schedule, it was his attitude and patience that we really valued. We never felt we were being “up-sold”. or pushed into something we didn't need or want. Instead we felt we were being listened to and having things explained thoughtfully and thoroughly and with humour, which made the test drives really fun. I'm sure we asked some lame questions, but we were never made to feel that way. I think Tony has the patience of a saint :) After picking up the Rav 4 this week I immediately had to travel on the highway for a few hours and I loved how it handled - great pick up and very responsive. Plus while I was a bit daunted by all the features before I left, Tony had set it up so perfectly for me, I didn't have to do anything but drive and everything was right there when I needed it. Along with all the safety features (lane assist, blind spot notification, surround camera) , I cruised to the playlists on my iPhone with no trouble whatsoever, (great sound system), made and received voice activated business calls with ease and all thanks to Tony who had taken the time with me to set everything up before I left. ALEX WANG is one of the most annoying and rude agents i have ever dealt with. Pressured my partner and I almost every hour to send in a form because we were interested in the 2018 Highlander; we were not able to fill out the form until the afternoon due to both of us being in work. Finally submitted it to him in the morning and he promised to have our result by the end of the day... The next morning ( today) I had to call ALEX to find out what was the status of the paper work. He said everything is good to go and approved just come in today and he will take care of us. Happily we both took the day off and was heading to Toyota when my partner received a call from Stephanie that she needed two additional government ID. We said yeah no problem my partner was going to get his passport and citizenship card since he lived in Markham and we were influenced to come here by a customer. We had not sent the IDs yet and got an email not even a call to say that it was declined (we had no idea why); so I emailed Alex and said was the application declined? The audacity of Alex to reply and this was the message "TOYOTA SAY NO". Such a terrible and upsetting service provided by him when a small problem had occurred. Clearly with "Toyota Say No" meant he doesn't have to deal with us since we were no value to him again. My partner and I will take our business elsewhere for the distasteful and disappointing customer service provided by ALEX WANG!! Customer service: FAIL!!!!

A few weeks ago received a letter from downtown toyota, saying that they're very interested in buying back my 2013 Prius c, I didn't think anything of it as I'm very happy with my car. So a few days ago, I received a call from a Product Advisor: Lisa Tu, asking me if I was interested in selling my 2013 Prius c back to them, and that they can compensate me, and give me some kind of offer on a new car. I've never been asked for a buy back, so I thought what's the harm, I thought I go and see what they were going to offer me. At first nothing was laid out clearly, but we slowly got to see what the numbers were, because all I wanted to see was the numbers, that's all I wanted. Lisa stepped out and I talked to the manager (indian) directly, we talked for a while, still couldn't get a confirmation on what the set monthly payment will be, he wanted me to say yes before giving me the final offer, then he started to get very impatient with me, I felt very uncomfortable/pressured, we ended the talk and that was that. Before going home, I went over to the service department to chat with an advisor, I had some thing I wanted to ask him, then Lisa came back and started giving me better offers, now that I have the numbers, I see what I was actually into, but I decided the better option of me was to keep the car that I have, and continue driving it. Throughout the whole process, Lisa stayed really patient and professional, but I kept saying no and they kept giving me better offers. At the end, I decided not to trade in for a new car, but Lisa still gave me a warm good bye, but another manager (caucasian) still trying to strike a deal, asking what would be a number I'm happy with, said he can tried to see if he can offer me a 90 days free of payment, I wasn't bluffing, I really was there to see what the offer was and decided I am better off with not trading my car, at the end he question me why I came to the dealership if I wasn't selling, which I did not appreciate. Overall, I highly recommend anyone looking for a toyota to talk to Product Advisor: Lisa Tu, but I would be very wary of the managers there, and do your research before going. The indian manager told me toyota will still continue to offer the the prius c and prius v (wagon) for another two years, which I am not sure if he is just saying that to make a sale, or if it's confirmed. From my understanding, the prius c/v will most likely not get replaced, and only the standard prius, and maybe later a plug in prius will be added to the line up.

Bought my first new 4Runner here back in July 2021. Louis was very helpful and gave me an excellent price and allowed both my wife and I to test drive multiple times before buying. This was the first positive car shopping experience for me and hope for this to continue. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 star is due to the long waits when going for a scheduled service. For my first oil change I had to wait 20min just to book my car in. I also found the warranty sales associate too pushy. Otherwise this is a good place to buy a hard to find Toyota without inflated prices.

I have owned many cars over the years and dealt with many different garages and dealers, but Downtown Toyota stands out front and centre as the best! I actually live on the West End, but I purposefully drive out to the East end just for their service. They always take the time to listen and go out of their way to make a solid diagnosis before jumping into unnecessary, costly repairs. I've been having ongoing issues with my current car's power lock system, and because of time/location I went to other Toyota dealers, but today I decided to return to Downtown Toyota out of frustration, and sure enough, they once again rose to the top! When the front desk recognized my frustration, they had me speak directly with the Shop Foreman (Annand Singh). He was calm and patient and treated me with respect. He genuinely listened to my concerns and even volunteered to go on a test drive with me and sure enough, he successfully diagnosed and repaired the issue and even insisted he go on another test drive with me afterwards to make sure the problem was resolved - which it was! I have been reminded that they are worth the extra kilometers, and I will be trusting them alone with all of my future car repairs. They are worth it! Booked my appointment two weeks in advance. Brought my vehicle in on the day of and checked it in. A moment later I’m told they don’t have the necessary parts (oil + filter) and cannot complete the job that was scheduled two weeks prior. What makes it worse is that the day before the appointment I emailed the Service Manager, Parts Manager and one of Service Advisors with required part numbers and asked to ensure that they would have the parts in stock for my service. Why nobody bothered to at least call me? Shockingly unprofessional. What a waste of time.

Initially we went to the dealership at Steeles & Dufferin. The experience there was not very good. The salesman was sleazy, stingy & abrasive. We called Sam Alahmed at the downtown Toyota dealership and gave him the details of the offer we were given at the Steeles location. After a brief hold he went and fought on our behalf to get a much better deal. We drove directly to see Sam and his manager Mohsen. Sam was professional but above all honest and accommodating. The difference between their attitude was night & day. He made me feel like family & listened to all my concerns. He provided a swift & hastle free service. I was very pleased at how Sam made a personal connection with us and made me feel like I was being taken care of. He even threw in a few freebies that the other dealership was going to charge me for. Stephanie the finance manager was also very pleasant & honest in her dealing with me. I LOVED my old 2000 Honda Civic and I was pretty convinced that I was going to replace it with a new Honda Fit. Thinking that I should be responsible, however, and try a few different makes, my partner and I turned up at Downtown Toyota to test drive a Matrix. We were met by Deepak Sajnani who was personable, knowledgeable, respectful, and immediately put us at ease. We have a very narrow driveway (85 inches) situated between two brick houses and Deepak allowed us to test drive the vehicle to our house to make sure I could drive it up the drive way and (more importantly) back it out. (This was not the case for the Mazda and Nissan dealers we visited.) We liked the features of the Toyota Matrix and especially the 0% financing but I was still vacillating between the Honda Fit and the Matrix. Finally we decided on the Matrix. When we arrived at Downtown Toyota for a second time, Deepak had a Matrix waiting for us to take out again for a second test drive (even though we had not requested this). Negotiating the buying price of a new car is not the "funnest" part of new car buying, but Deepak was low pressure and reasonable and made this aspect of the process as painless as possible. Deepak took care of all aspects of the process of transferring my plates (doing both the paper work and literally moving the plates from my old car to the new car); he advised me clearly about all steps necessary to transfer my insurance; and he personally sync-ed the Bluetooth in the car to my phone and gave me a Bluetooth refresher the next day! In summary, Deepak was one of the reasons we bought a Toyota Matrix and we are absolutely thrilled with our new car.

Update - Updating to 3* as the service manager personally called me to follow up my issue with my most recent appointment. He has advised that they are working on their processes and customer service issues, so I will acknowledge that fact. I am hoping that he can help solve an ongoing issue with my brakes (that were just changed in April).

Horrible experience !!!! On May 15, 2021, I went to Toyota downtown branch (77 East Don Roadway) after seeing an ad that offered very special conditions for leasing or financing a car. Under a lease agreement for $ 1,000 in deposit, I replaced my Toyota RAV4 with a VENZA HYBRID. In the end, the product adviser assured me that the car would be delivered in three to five business days. In fact, I promised my family to lease this car for their happiness after going through a long period of hardship. After seven working days, when I called for follow-up, they changed the delivery date to June 10, which was very upsetting for me and my family but we waited again. Two days after the claimed date, June 12, when there was no news of the car, I called again to follow up, and this time the sales manager promised me to deliver the car by July 7, with repeated stories. This situation was not tolerable for me at all and I could not accept that the officials of this situation did not know from the beginning that the delivery time in the period when they first claimed was nothing more than a lie. However, on June 15, when there was no news even of the car's VIN Number, I decided to cancel the lease agreement. After 2 weeks, they didn't refund my money. So, I went to the Toyota branch to get the deposit back, but sales manager rudely told me the car was ready and you had no right to cancel the contract and you can go to follow up wherever you want because that money could not be refunded. It is very important for me to know why this collection gives itself the right to increase its sales by lying to the customers and trying to attract them by concluding indecisive contracts. I believe it needs an immediate action to prevent the repetition of this method with other customers.

Had an issue with me navigation system. Whole thing went dead. Car was in the shop 6 hours. And they couldn't fix it. Fine they ordered 1. Its in. Now cars got to go back. They tell me Monday drop it off. I said I work at 8am can you get me to work. They say sure. Where do you have to go. I say Dufferin and Bloor. They say no we don't go that far. SERIOUSLY! What ever. Not the fisr bad experience I had with the service department. I suggest buying a car here. Do it. But find a mechanic shop that will actually work and help. Don't use the toyota service centre

He has been doing this for a long time and it shows. He listened and made accurate suggestions based on my needs and wants. This review has been a long time coming. I have been a client of Toyota on Front, now Downtown Toyota, since I purchased my 2009 FJ Cruiser new in March 2010. The FJ itself is the best vehicle I’ve owned in my 53yrs and I plan I will own it for life. It has been factory maintained since new from Downtown Toyota and it is that unparalleled service that I’m writing about today. Since I put purchased the FJ I have always dealt with the Service Manager Javed Khan because he is amazing at what he does and is a great person. He and his team are the reason I brought my mom there years ago to lease and maintain her cars. He truly cares. I can’t honestly say he takes a personal interest in his clients. He and his team have saved me quite a few dollars over the past 11yrs with some regular repairs, fabricating brackets or welding broken ones instead of ordering in a new part etc. The reason my 12yr old FJ is worth $30k is because of the care given to it, by myself and Javed and his team. I just received my FJ after I had asked Javed to have my wheels sandblasted and powder coated black as well as a full detail, engine shampoo and paint buff and treatment. I know that I was asking a lot but Javed didn’t mind at all. He had my winter tires taken out of storage and put on my FJ so they could move it around while they detailed and had my wheels sent out to the powder coating shop I found. He kept my truck at the shop for the week because it was more convenient for me. When I picked up my truck, after they picked up my wheels and installed and balanced them with the full detail, engine shampoo, paint correction and interior it was like picking it up 11yrs ago. I could not be happier. I’m grateful for the time, effort and amazing job Javed and his team did on my FJ. That’s why I’ll be their customer for life. Thanks Javed. PJ Scholtz

My husband walked into Downtown Toyota in December of 2009 for a part for his Corolla. When he walked out he had been talked into buying a new / used 2006 Toyota Matrix, sticker price $16,995 I believe. Calling me at work, I told him he should not even consider it. We were not financially stable, and his credit rating was quite poor. The sales person, assured him over and over again that with $200.00 down, he would get 0%, and it would only be a few days for him to be approved. I truly laughed at him, thinking he would never get approved..., but lo and behold, they called several days later to advise him that he had indeed been approved. NOT at the 0% interest.. oh no, but it will only cost you $234.00 bi-weekly for 60 months. He received the car in January 2010. Wow.....that is $30,000+++ for an already 4 year old car, true value maybe $15,000 tops? I told him again that he was nuts and would be paying forever, but he couldn't see the scam. It was not Toyota financing him at all.. it was a finance company VFC I believe, all arranged through the sales person. I called Toyota several times and left several messages for the manager, none of which were answered to discuss them keeping the car, and leaving us alone, but no he ended up with the car, because he didn't want to argue the fact that 1. He was not utilizing his brain and 2. That anyone could take advantage of him like this. They did him no favors. I did speak with a woman in finance who said the contract was signed therefore that was all there was too it. Now 5 years later, wow... with looking forward to Christmas, and the final payment, due in January 2015, we received a letter from T.D. Finance, with regards to the outstanding amount still due??? another $7800. Now I am pissed.. He is on his way to Toyota as I write, and if this is not sorted out, then I will look at going to the media ~ If a person does not qualify for a vehicle with Toyota financing, then it is not right that they should be scammed into paying more than double the actual value of the vehicle. What the hell? I would not send anyone to this dealership at anytime.

BEWARE - I was about to write a review of Toyota on Front and found that it has moved to Downtown Toyota... If you meet Ali A. or anyone from Toyota on Front beware... Had the worst experience to the point where I needed to get my deposit back on a "company owned vehicle" (which, I'm still not sure if that is what it was because I was told that it was a "company executive driven car", a demo car and also a used car...). Some red flags: I asked for a Carfax history report and did not get it because "it would have nothing on it as it was never registered" - I was told I couldn't get it until I put a deposit down and when when I finally did, the Carfax of course showed that it was registered 9 months ago. Main point was that Ali refused to give me the report prior to me putting a deposit down. Another flag was when it came down to me reviewing the Vehicle purchase agreement - a lot of the information was incorrect - Ali didn't fill out some of the details but the main item that worried me was no safety certificate number - I asked about this and got 3 answers in writing: 1) It's a new car so no safety certificate needed, 2) it's low on mileage so doesn't meet the threshold to require a safety certificate, and 3) it's a demo car so no safety certificate needed... I literally got 3 different answers in two days, via email and via WhatsApp. A safety certificate was definitely needed for me to get a plate and to be able to register this "new/used/demo/company owned" WHATEVER vehicle it was to my name. Most if not all dealerships handle that for you anyways so this was the tipping point for me to run and get my money back. I could literally go on about other red flags but I'm glad I backed out of it, got my deposit back and happy with my RAV4 that I got from a different dealership. Ask all questions, don't sign anything until you've gotten everything you need IN WRITING - everything from minor details to little promises, get it all in writing - if the rep isn't shady then they should have no issues doing that for you.

I went there today for a call back. The service was truly horrible. I walked in and was standing there for good 5 minutes without getting any greetings or help even though multiple staff members were available and not doing anything. I really want to be understanding because it's the COVID time and people can be depressed and unmotivated but when they're in a service industry, they should still do the bare minimum and at least acknowledge their customers with a simple, "hi, how can I help you today?" I'm not asking for too much, really!

Recently signed a lease for a new corolla here. Dealt with Charlie. Super nice guy. Very chill and helpful. Wasn't pushy at all. Exactly what a car salesman should be like. They were accommodating with my schedule. Only pressure I received (not from Charlie) was when they were trying to sell me on extra warranty coverage. A bit annoying they basically assume you'll buy one or all of their packages. This would add a annoyingly high cost to an already fairly costly car. Anyways, overall: Charlie was great. Experience was good.

For most people, vehicles are the second largest purchase you will make next to a house so it’s very important you find a dealership you trust and where customer service is their top priority. It should be common knowledge that the automotive sector in general is based off of a commission base incentive model which in turn drives certain behaviors in the sales process which you should all be aware of. I visited many dealerships in my search for a new car and experienced the bad, the ugly, and worse. My usual modus operandi is to play dumb and helpless to gauge the kind of person I’m dealing with and I was surprised how often sales reps would try to take advantage of me when trying to negotiate a purchase price. I hate to use the term but ‘shady’ comes to mind. When I walked into Downtown Toyota and met with Shailu Rathod this was not my experience at all. Shailu was transparent, professional, and a class act all the way. While I was averaging approximately 2-3 hours of negotiations with other dealerships Shailu and I had agreed on a deal within about 15mins of us meeting. No nonsense, he answered all my questions honestly and was very polite throughout our interaction. As a consumer I place a great deal of value on the type of person I buy from and not just the deal itself…people buy from people after all and I simply won’t do business with people I do not like if I don’t have to. I next met with Stephanie Wong to discuss finance options and extras. Stephanie was a pleasure to work with, she took the time to understand my needs and made recommendations on how I should proceed. I want to stress she made ‘recommendations’ and did not try to go on the sales offensive as you might find with other dealerships that will try to play off your fear of the ‘what-if scenario’. I really did appreciate her tact with me and never felt pressured to buy anything. I wish I could say the delivery of my new car was smooth but it wasn’t. Unfortunately, Toyota had a recall which impacted my vehicle just before delivery. This made things challenging for Downtown Toyota and I as it was out of both our control. Alex Wang was my delivery manager and was an absolute joy to work with however. He kept me updated on progress throughout the process and was very helpful in helping me locate another vehicle that had not been impacted by the recall. It’s easy to make a customer happy when everything goes smooth and as expected. It’s when things like this go wrong you get to see how well people can react and quickly solve an issue for you – Alex did not disappoint me and I can’t thank him enough for all his help! He instilled confidence that if I ever have a problem in the future I could always come back for a solution. Terrible Service!! Went in for a routine oil change, after an hour the advisor came and got me from the waiting room saying they found a nail in my tire and that the tire could not be fixed and a new one with labour would cost $335, no other options were given and when asked to see the nail in the tire, I was told it was already taken out. A little upset at the fact that a routine oil change turns into a $400 visit, especially when no other alternatives are provided, I sat and waited for the new tire. While in the waiting room, I messaged my partner explaining the new tire and would be a bit longer, she tells me that the advisor from Toyota just called her regarding our vehicle, my partner tells her that I am there in the waiting room, the advisor tells her to ignore the call and hangs up. The advisor calls back and says the vehicle is not showing up in the system as being at Toyota Downtown?? and to ignore the calls. This is all happening while I am in the waiting room, and have met with the same advisor twice already. The whole visit was unsatisfactory from start to finish and after the phone calls, it was very weird and confusing, and can’t help but feel I was taken advantage of and will not be returning.

Had a shockingly bad experience with their Service Manager. Had to return my fleet vehicle, called for my winter tires on a Monday they said 72 hours, so I went Thursday afternoon on my way to return the car. They didn’t have them there. Eventually the service manager agreed to transfer them to the fleet people. He failed or do so then shouted at me that he was too busy to deal with it. Further, they allow their staff to smoke everywhere, throw their cigarette butts on the ground and in entrance/exit doors.

We've went to DAG (toyota) from an advice from a relative and boy was he right. We got to talk to Rob Sadri and he was great. Very patient and no "sales guy/gal" tactics. He offers what he can only offer and straight forward, apologized when things cannot be done. The minor issue we had was regarding our trade-in. DAG cannot get to the price that I want for my truck, but I guess they have to make money too. Over all experience, it was great and less painful to deal with. I recommend to everybody that wants to buy Toyota to check DAG Toyota and look for Rob Sadri and you won't regret it.

One day, after work, I walked up to the dealership on Queen/DVP. Took a look at the vehicles in the lot and saw nothing that was of interest to me. I then walked in the showroom and was greeted by a gentleman – Alex Wang. This would be the turning point in my buying experience. After a brief chat with Alex, I told him what I was looking for – RAV4, year, KM, color, other features, and of course my budget. 2 days later, he called me. I went in, and he had exactly (well, almost) what I was looking for. I took a test drive, and decided to get it. I was pleased with the service that I received from Alex during this transaction. Alex is very knowledgeable and answered all questions that I had. He was very patient and friendly, listened to my needs and was not pushy like many dealership reps are known to be. Worst service ever, called ahead and booked an appointment for an oil change at 7pm. Arrived at 6:30 and ended up leaving at 8:15pm, an hour and 15mins for an oil change, that's ridiculous not counting the half hour which I arrived early. No one even acknowledged the fact that I had been waiting for such a long time for a service that should take max 30mins. When I mentioned it to them I was just told at they are busy and that's it. Response. First of all I never said that I was given an estimated time of half hour..I said that's how long it should take Max 30mins, this isn't my first time going somewhere for a service as simple as an oil change I understand that sometimes it can take some time due to volume but that shouldn't be a customer's problem. Second what do you mean that me showing up didn't help my wait time? I waited an hour and 15mins not counting me arriving early, if I count that it would be close to 2hrs that I was in your store. Lastly what do you mean that my expectation isn't realistic? Sorry but that literally makes no sense it's not like I didn't book an appointment and showed up just like that and you guys did me a huge favor, I paid for a service that took 4 times longer than it should've. If you guys are busy and are under staff then maybe you guys shouldn't over book

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH DOWNTOWN TOYOTA. DO NOT HONOUR WARRANTY WORK. UNPROFESSIONAL! Every time I have been to this dealership it is an absolute disappointment. The service staff at this location are terrible. From waiting 1.5 hours for them to retrieve an oil filter from the basement to a total scam in warranty, this dealership is less than professional. I registered a complaint about a sound coming from my driver side tire at 48 000 KM only to have service staff member Jallone tell me that it was tire noise due to a faulty tire. He then charged me $145 + tax because there was “no problem found”. I still continued to hear the sound. Later in the year I changed out my tires for winters and still experienced the same issue on the driver side wheel. I went back into the dealership at 62 000 KM and service staff member Max told me that their technicians would not be able to diagnose the issue because they could not drive the vehicle at 100 KM/h. He said that winter tires cause “road noise” and that was what I am experiencing. After expressing that I would like the issue looked into further he said it would be a few hours I would have to spend at the dealership and take a technician out on a drive to recreate the problem. Even though my complaint was registered before the 60 000 KM drivetrain warranty I was told that this issue would no longer be covered. As a result I took my car and left this dealership, went to my personal mechanic and he replaced the front left bearing as it was faulty. He was able to get this fully covered by Toyota. I have not heard the sound since. For that reason I will never be back to do business with this dealership.

Second is it to Downtown Toyota. First. Visit was not a positive experience, but try to give anyone providing services a second chance. Sadly the second visit did not go well either. No more visits to Downtown Toyota from me. Very slow. Both visits dropped the vehicle early with a promise that it would be back at an agreed upon time. Both visits failed to meet that expectation. Also. Was told breaks were in need of replacing. Found that hard to believe since I just did them roughly 50k ago. Now, I'm no mechanic, but I'm pretty sure most breaks last longer then that. i also know this has a lot to do with driving habits. Which I felt I'm not that hard on my breaks to constitute that kind of wear in such a short time. I give 2 stars until I can get a second opinion. If I find the breaks are fine. The manager is very unprofessional and clueless. He refused to help us out without us paying, when our car is under insurance completely. They helped us out after multiple arguments and they fixed our Air conditioning but 2 hours after I picked up my car, I could hear a loose screw somewhere under my hood when I drive 80km or over and I spotted a leak under my car. Absolutely trash of a dealership and horrible customer service. Ever since we bought our car from them there has been 0 support from this dealership. The car was brand new and the battery was loose and the anti rust was not functional. When the car was taken in, they removed the anti rust unit without my knowledge or permission. Given this experience, they seem like the type of people that would remove your brakes and not tell you about it, so you can go off and die so you don't bother them again. Apparently they've sent it it off to the old anti rust vendor company for replacement or repairs, because they have a new contract with a new company. Its been weeks and there has been no words from anyone. The managers do not care, no one cares in this dump, do not buy a car from here unless you like being left out to dry. They reel you in with an illusion of care at the time of sale, after that, you're on your own.

After, encountering several less than stellar auto related exchanges, Tola helped to renew my faith in humanity. Bought a used Prius from Jasbir. Intense sales pressure the second you step foot in the door. Everyone was nice enough, because of course: they're in sales. After getting offensively lowballed for trading in a motorcycle (they offered me 500, I easily ended up selling it myself for ten times that amount), I put a down payment on the vehicle. When I reviewed the contract, I realized I was charged 5.99 percent APR, instead of the 3.99 APR that they prominently advertise everywhere. When I e-mailed to ask about the discrepancy, they ignored me. Not the biggest deal, I was expecting to be bent over somehow, but still very underhanded. I love the car, it's everything I've ever wanted in a vehicle, but all credit for that goes to the engineers at Toyota.

It was clear the lot attendant had absolutely no intention of stopping or slowing down, despite there being pedestrians who approached the sidewalk first and who were about to cross in front of the lot. UPDATED: The manager from this location has called me to resolve the issue - it's nice to know that this dealership does care. This review pertains only to Service: So I tried to service my car at this location for the first time and I can assure you it'll be my last time. I made an appointment for a simple oil change on a Saturday at 1pm and when I get there at 12:55 I'm told by the service adviser that my car won't be ready till 4pm which is when they close. We all know that oil changes do not take that long and if there's cars that need to be serviced before me then what was the point of making the appointment? After being told that my car won't be ready till close I didn't show my frustration and instead asked for a shuttle service back home but the adviser told me they don't offer that on Saturdays, then why are you providing maintenance services on Saturday? Doesn't the shuttle compliment the maintenance service? Ended up Ubering back home and then back to the dealership, which costed me almost as my oil change. As I was leaving the dealership I could see the other customers sitting in the waiting area near service that looked very frustrated as you can tell that they've been sitting there for hours. Zero customer commitment from the service side of this dealership.

What took our experience above and beyond was when my car got marked by another vehicle going in the opposite direction and a quote I got from the dealer I usually get service from wanted to charge us $5000! I couldn’t believe it so I brought it in to Charles and told him what the other dealer quoted me. He took it back to his service team and he could have come out with a lesser quote but he had his team buff out the mark for free! We had been going to the other dealership for 13 years to have our previous car serviced and were planning to continue with them but not now. Last Thursday evening I found my tire was almost flat at 7 pm. Since the next day was a holiday and I had to go out of town 6 am Saturday I hurried over to Toyota hoping someone might still be there. The service department was closed but a wonderful man named John Flynn after seeing how bad my tire was let me in. He then proceeded to change the tire himself and didn't charge me anything! Poor service poor quality be aware!!! I recently purchased a used car from this dealership. They dressed up the car in a pretty red bow but the car was very dirty and stinks under the bow!!. They promised to detail and fix a cracked bumber it had. Yes they took the car to be fixed and cleaned and the manager gave me a loaner car...he picked one of the dirtiest car from the lot to give me. I could not even put my child in it. When they brought back my car, it was still smelly and it had a dent in it. The bumper was not installed properly....they took it a second time but still missing clips and misalignment. The story is that the bumper is newer than the car and wont fit any better. Really a Toyota certified dealership cannot install a bumper properly!!! Terrible service I dont trust them.

I just picked up our new 2021 Venza on October 24. It was a new lease to replace the expired lease on a 2017 Sienna. My wife and I had the pleasure of working with Alex Wang and Stephanie Wong in April/May of 2020 when we leased our secondary vehicle - a 2020 Corolla. We had a very satisfying experience with Alex and Stephanie when we were considering the Corolla; so when the lease on the Sienna was expiring, we went back to Alex to see what our options were. Alex recommended the 2021 Venza hybrid to us. Alex was very knowledgable about the pros and cons of the Venza versus the Sienna which we had grown accustomed to. It didn't take very long for us to be convinced that the 2021 Venza was the right vehicle for us. When it came time for the lease price negotiation, Alex and Stephanie were ultra accommodating, working diligently to suit our needs. We were very happy with the lease price that we finally agreed to. Alex and Stephanie were also instrumental in giving me a hassle-free experiment in the closing of the account on the Sienna. All I had to do was to hand over the key fob. All in all, it has been superb working with Alex and Stephanie over the past 1 1/2 years. We will most definitely work with them again for our next vehicle, and we will highly recommend them to our friends looking for a Toyota!

I got totally screwed here, paid $2100 for a repair that failed almost immediately. Other problems that I came in with were not repaired at all, plus I ended up with new problems that didn’t exist before they touched the car! When I called to say that the $2100 repair didn’t work, I was told by Paul that I would have to pay for new diagnostics all over again—for the work that wasn’t repaired properly!! My vehicle is now with Kanata Toyota, where they have confirmed that the repair was indeed a failure and that the $2100 wasn’t justified. Save your money, don’t get scammed by Downtown Toyota! If I could give less than 1 star I will! For typical service (oil change, tire change), this location is ok. However when you go for a maintenance service, the bill is always over 1,000$. The first time, I did the changes that they have suggested (wash and shampoo engine because they found engine oil leak 56$, perform engine coolant exchange service because coolant was discolored 135$, change 4 brakes 400$, replace brake fluid 85$, replace manual transmission fluid 80$, resurface front and rear brake rotors 450$, replace and clean water pomp 145$). Since I was visiting my family in Québec, I did the maintenance at a Toyota location in Québec (considerably cheaper by the way...) For my second maintenance at Downtown Toyota (only 6 months later), they told me that I had to change the brakes and coolant&transmission fluids because they were discolored. When I told them that I did it less than 6 months before in Québec, they told me: - Ok so don't do the brakes again since you did it and for the fluids they are always a bit discolored so you can wait. I could not believe this. This means that they don't even check the car, they just ask for reparations according to their maintenance chart. So even if it's not required, they will suggest to do it and charge full price. After my second time, the suggested maintenance was 4,300$. Before deciding anything, I told them that I had to show that to my husband and they told me: -Wait we will send you an updated version. What a surprise, on the updated version they removed some stuff... Maybe because I am a woman they though they could fraud me... In addition to the brakes and fluids, they added different items like the wheel alignment 120$, replace front struts 800$ and front strut mounts 360$, air conditioning system service 90$,and many many others... I was discouraged. I went to another garage (recommended by a friend) to have a second opinion on the major items (struts and brakes) and they told me that everything was fine with my car. I was very angry at Downtown Toyota. Also, the labor and parts are a lot cheaper at the other garage. Since my car is not under warranty I will never go to Downtown Toyota again in my life!!!! Only for the numerous future recalls to come I suppose... I got my 4th recall for this car today!

I called to inquire about the specific truck and Mr. Olasimbo (AKA Tola), who is their used car sales manager was quick to return my call. I've been having my car serviced at this location for almost 5 years since I bought it new, from simple oil/filter change to major maintenance. You pay more for the Toyota authorized service vs. a regular garage, I get it, and I was willing to pay the premium, until now. I was in the shop last week having regular maintenance done on my car. Before I came in to the shop, I called the parts/service department asking if I bring my snow tires(my snow tires are already installed on separate rims), will they be able to put them on for me since a tire rotation is part of the maintenance package. The answer was “if we have to remove the (all season) tires from car anyway, there shouldn’t be additional charges”. I went in think it’ll cost me about $160ish, but when it got the bill it was over $200. Apparently, they charge me $45 for putting on the winter tire(would’ve been $55 according to the shop). I asked the guy at the counter “I’m already paying for the tire rotation which you don’t have to perform, why are you charging me extra for the same work.” The guy was like“ we have to do a lot more work”, so I asked him “what extra work could possibly be involved that’s worth $45” the answer was” well, we have to take your winter tire out of your trunk!” At this point, I was just speechless. I had an argument with the counter guy since this additional charge was NOT on the agreement I originally signed, he insisted it was, but it was hand written and in pencil. I was angry but what am I gonna do? I have to pay ransom to get my car. The guy ended up discount $25 off the bill after such heated argument. But it’s just not about the money anymore. I just had my wife’s car serviced at honda last month and they specifically asked me to bring my winter tires so they can install it FOR FREE as part of tire rotation. Anyway, buyers beware, ask for a copy of what you signed BEFORE you drop off your car. And prepare to pay $55 to have your tires taken out of your trunk. -Update the service manager Ken contacted me in response to my review and addressed the issue. He said the process is now changed and in the future there won't be any additional fees for such work order. i appreciate the effort of making improvement and i would go back again and im changing my rating to 4 star

Even though Downtown Toyota is much further, it was worth every minute. I was lucky enough to have Wilbert Ma assist me; his patience and knowledge on cars was outstanding and extremely helpful. We had no idea what car we were going to get, nor were we firm on getting a Toyota. However, he was very informative and up to date about Toyota's safety and reliability relative to other brands (which I later Google and found them to be true). He wasn't like any other salesperson I've met but more of a Toyota consultant. His approach is simple, he doesn't try to sell you the top of the line but offer something practical. He took the time to understand our needs before offering 2-3 options, taking factors like budget, mileage, gas prices and maintenance into consideration. I've recommended him to a few friends and everyone came back to tell me how knowledgeable and genuine he has been and working with him made the process much easier. I normally don't write reviews however this Toyota Dealership deserves less than the one star that I gave it. From the very moment we traded our Corolla in for a Rav4 we received bad service. First off the dealer tried to scam us out of an extra $500 for something that we didn't need and hadn't asked for, we then had to go through hoops to get that money back. We were not given the best price at the moment for the car and were rushed through the process so quickly our heads were spinning. Not good sales. However, the most recent encounter was with their service department. We'd only had the car for a few months with very little mileage on it. The glove compartment handle had started to crack while we were on vacation, I took it into a Dealership in Regina Saskatchewan where we were at the time and the service man ended up breaking the handle right off. He said not worry because it was under warranty and the Dealership in Toronto would take care of it. We finally got around to having the part replaced so we took it into the Downtown Toyota on Queen East. With a quick examination they determined that it was our fault and we would have to pay $300 to replace it. I had to argue over several calls to the Service Manager, who refused to put it under warranty even thought the milage was at 15,000 and again not our fault. I explained it was a piece of plastic that broke off because it was obviously not made well. It became such a headache over a tiny piece that could be literally replaced in moments. It came down to me having to call the Regina Dealership so their service manager could explain to the Service manager here in Toronto that this was in fact "Warranty". The Regina dealership explained that this shouldn't have EVER been an issue. In the end the part got replaced under warranty thanks to the Manager at Taylor Toyota Regina and his phone call to the Toronto Dealership. Something also worth mentioning is that just to stick it to me in the end they didn't bring my car out washed, something they said they always do when cars come into service. Not that I am upset about this but it just shows the mentality over at Downtown Toyota. If I were you I would just avoid this Dealership all together and go to a different one.

Absolutely horrible service department. The team nor the manager of the service department will listen to the issues you're expressing and will insist the car problem is fixed until you drive home and the issue is still there. The team is very careless. I came in 4-5 times expressing that my steering wheel was making a lot of noise while making turns. Each time they told me they fixed it when they in fact did not. I expressed my discontent and was told I would have to pay extra for a sound exam (which should have been taken care of in the first place) and then they would fix the issue. I finally went to a local mechanic who had the steering wheel problem fixed within an hour for much less.

Terrible auto service! We booked to have our air bags changed (as per their letter), and our tires changed. We came, and was told we had to leave the car overnight. We didn't want to, so they told us to come early the next day. We brought in the car early and again, and they told us it'll take 6-8 hours!! 6-8 hours!! Nowhere does the letter say it'll take that long to change the airbags. We've been driving our all-season tires 2 back and forth for 2 days already. We asked if we can just change the tires, and they refused. Toyota asked us to come back AGAIN the third time to do the service because we didn't want to wait 6-8 hours for our car. Terrible service! All we wanted was to change the tire for now, because we don't want to lugging around it in the city and wasting gas.

*Updated review after owning the car for 1 1/2 years... Things have certainly gone down hill... 3 tires had to be replaced because they were patched up previously, and we have been taking the car to Scarborough Toyota who to love fixing things. Every time we go there they say oh this should be fixed because it hasn't been done in ages.... So does that mean they sold us a used car with crappy 3rd party brakes and never did any maintenance on it the before selling it to us? Maybe its Scarborough Toyota are taking advantage of us... Either way with the tire issues and brakes I feel as though when buying a used car directly from Toyota these things should of been dealt with. Scarborough Toyota suggest the car could of been leased and the previous owner never did maintenance. wouldn't Downtown Toyota notice this and do the required maintenance before selling it, or does that mean Scarborough Toyota just likes to make things up. Either way, its disappointing because Toyota should be a trustworthy brand but I wouldn't buy a car from here or another Toyota at this rate. Had the pleasure of dealing with Chan Song with my recent car purchase. Definitely recommend going here. I usually regret and dealing with sales people but Chan was great and very helpful. Overall I would highly recommend downtown Toyota.

Yesterday, I went to pickup my used Toyota Highlander LE Hybrid I had purchased. The scheduled appointment time was 12pm and it was communicated by phone call and 2 separate emails to 2 different people ahead of time. I arrived at 10:30am on Friday, October 9, 2020 and waited 6.5 hours before I was able to pickup the vehicle and drive home. When I arrived the vehicle wasn't even ready for pickup. However, I found out there were some unforeseen circumstances that had happened. As a result, I waited patiently. About an hour after I arrived the vehicle was just going through the car wash machine. After it was washed the car was parked aside and it took several hours before the car was even cleaned. The time and effort spent cleaning my car was minimal compared to other new and used cars that other customers were picking up. At around 1:30pm, I also found out that licensing wasn't done yet and someone from the dealership was on their way to Service Ontario to complete this work. I was previously assured the dealership was going to take care of the licensing and plate transfer. After I was told the vehicle was finally ready, which was very late in the afternoon at approximately 3:45pm, I went to check the cleanliness of the car and found patches of debris when I opened the trunk. There was hair all over the place in the trunk and the plastic trim was clearly unconditioned. This is very embarrassing given the fact that I was assured by the Service Manager that the vehicle was already cleaned. Tola had instructed for the vehicle to be re-cleaned when he saw this. Because I had already been waiting for close to 5 hours, I didn't bring up other minor details like bug debris on the headlight and on the right and left side mirror. These items would've been noticed and addressed if someone had taken the time to properly clean the car. What disappointed me the most was the attitude from Ricky Lo and Javed Khan. When I answered Ricky's question about why I was walking towards the entrance of the service department I explained I was picking up an used car that I had bought, he rolled his eyes and completely ignored me. Then when I spoke with Javed after waiting for several hours, one of his reactions was nobody knew about my situation, which is not true because it had already been communicated with Ricky. I had also witnessed Tola instruct the people doing the cleaning and detailing hours before to clean my car but the car just ended up sitting there for hours. When I spoke with Javed he insisted that the car cleaning had been completed, which turned out to be a lie, as described in the paragraph above. Javed then went on to say that used cars go through somebody else and tried to brush away the responsibility as if the service department was a completely separate entity and not part of Downtown Toyota dealership. I have visited Toyota dealerships across Canada, US, Asia, Europe and this was by far the worst experience. The impression I got was if I wasn't there for service or buying a new car, I was treated as a second class citizen. Kudos to Tola for doing everything he can to rectify this situation. Tola ended up rolling up his sleeves and swapped my license plates onto the car I was buying. Tonya tried to help make the situation better. She said she was going to speak with their management about this but I honestly don't think anything was done from the management to help make the situation better. Telal witnessed what was going on and did the right thing and took the time to talk to me casually about cars which helped make the time go by quicker while I was waiting. There are good people at this dealership like Tola, Tonya, and Telal trying to build a great image for the dealership. However, I was thoroughly disappointed by the attitude, professionalism, and integrity of people in the service department.

This location is taking way more than they should for brand new cars. If you buy a new car you will be charged 1 Freight $950 , 2 Aftermarkets $1200(what is this ,does not exist in other deal ship (out of city) ) 3 dealer fee ..this is what this place taking from people ..for them is not enough that for new car they charging you $2.263 extra on MSRP ..so check well before you sign

I came in to Toyota to get them to look at a large scratch that I had inadvertently put on the grey plastic panel on the rear passenger door. The part that I had ordered the day before was in and I was asking if a technician could be available to put it on. After some light bantering back and forth a wonderful mechanic told me to bring the car into the bay and he would install it right away. It was done in a matter of seconds, looked great and they did not charge me for their time; I just paid for the part which I totally expected to do. Thanks guys. I live in Toronto and went to the dealership here because I trust Toyota to be fair and more importantly reasonable. I dont have to haggle or worry about being ripped off. I got a flat and needed a patch. When I spoke to the service rep, explained the situation and asked if they could fit me in. The rep sighed and rolled his eyes, then said yes and slipped me an invoice for $80.00 to patch my tire! In the end they couldn't do it and put the spare on for $45. They also tried to sell me new tires and replace my breaks for $1800 I went to another Toyota dealership to swap my winters. They said they'd patch a tire for $45 and be happy to have another look since my trust is now broken. Downtown Toyota feel shame as you are part of the problem with this city. I will never be returning to this Toyota neither with my family or my girlfriend's family.

AVOID this dealership. Completely unprofessional and disrespectful - in short, the WORST customer service I've ever experienced by far. Due to Toyota recalling the air bags on my vehicle, I contacted the dealer and was given an appointment for January the 4th to change my air bag. As scheduled, I left my car with the dealership and was told that the work would be completed by 6:00 p.m. To give context, I'm a physician and had just worked 30+ hours straight overnight taking care of some of the sickest patients in the city during the COVID pandemic. Due to my work hours, the scheduled time slot was the only time i could bring in my vehicle. About halfway home taking public transit, the dealership called stating that the work could not be done as a part hadn't arrived yet. They couldn't even tell me that before I had left the dealership. I explained the situation and poor communications with the service manager. They brushed off my concerns and denied any responsibility. Worst service of my life. Utterly dishonest and unprofessional services. UPDATE: the response doesn't address the fact that they failed to provide information before the appointment or even during the appointment that the shipments were delayed. There was a huge failure to communicate, no regard for the time wasted, and zero acceptance of responsibility for their lack of professionalism. Providing false information (that the work on the car would be completed by 6pm) and not providing an update on the situation prior to the appointment (disrespecting my time) is anything but professional. Denying responsibility for this is not professional. The extremely poor customer service has everything to do with lack of professionalism.

I purchased my first car 40 years ago and I wanted to share this most recent positive experience because in the past buying a car has been my most dreaded activity. I have never purchased two cars from the same dealership. Not only would I buy from Downtown Toyota again, I recommend others try it before they buy anywhere else – the way I see it, if you are happy about the purchase experience the day you drive off the lot, you’re much more likely to love the car. Plus my first Prius was the best car I’ve ever driven, by a long shot! So what is different at Downtown Toyota. Firstly, they listen. Imagine that! From my Product Advisor Sam (picture the sales person), to GM Jenan and Business Manager Alice, everyone paid attention to what I was saying, provided the information I wanted and didn’t offer any misinformation to steer me towards something else. All expressed their commitment to helping me make a choice that would make me the happiest; even if that meant to keep driving my old car. Secondly, the approach is customer friendly. Sam, my Product Advisor, did exactly what his title suggests. He walked me through the options, providing apples to apples comparative information. And when it came to prices he gave them as ‘all in’ prices, without my asking. I was so impressed by this. I have heard that some dealers are doing this – its so long over due. (By the way, the other 2 I visited before buying at DT, didn’t.) GM Jenan stick-handled the actual purchase from person to person and kept me fully informed throughout – he actually took me with him to speak with some of the others: that’s real transparency. And Alice, the Business Manager, offered the extras with full information where I was interested and with no pressure where I wasn’t. Bottom line, a great team and a customer friendly approach.
