Horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE... we were given such a bad vehicle we thought we were literally going to break down at any moment, breaks were making a rubbing noise and was shaking every time you stepped on them the car was dirty with old food residue, tires were slipping like crazy in just light rain. I believe your life is worth spending the extra few dollars at another rental company. Don’t waste your time.

I rented a car from these guys last year. No-one was manning the desk which is in the lobby of a hotel and had to wait 10 mins for them. It took 20 mins to finalize the paperwork & despite the car being booked the car took a good 10 mins to arrive outside. When it did it was really heavy rain and dark and the car was covered in rain. The car was running on FUMES!!, literally the fuel warning light was on despite me being told it would have a full tank (but I hadn't paid for that in advance like some places). The car spluttered the last 1/2 mile to the nearest fuel station which being downtown Vancouver was 5 miles away. When I brought the car back the guy pointed out all these marks and scratches which were missed on his initial inspection (which considering it was really heavy rain and dark you wouldn't see!!). However my insistence that it was really heavily raining the night before (which he remembered) and my comment of "Anyone who knows anything about inspecting or buying a car knows NEVER to do it in the rain as it hides loads of paint flaws". He said he'd "Let me away with it". Why 3 stars instead of 1, well the car was tidy, the car was cheap (easily 20% cheaper than the nearest competitor for the same class of car) and the guy at the desk was helpful despite the delays. TBH I've dealt with worse car companies and tbh you get what you pay for. If I'd have paid the 30% more at one of the big 4 companies I'd have been RAGING to wait 40 mins for the car to get it with 1/2 gallon of gas and to be accused of damaging it. As it is you pay less and you need to be content with less.

I had a great experience with this place! Their email reservation system was down, but they answered their phone to take my reservation and gave me a mid-size for the price of a compact car which was very nice. The rental agent was personable and efficient, and while they did give me a car with very little gas, to be fair to them it was a last minute rental and every other car at other agencies were booked in Vancouver it seemed. They explained that they would give me credit for any gas that I put in, and they honored that, although I did have to call and remind them. All in all I would rent from them again for sure.

I cannot imagine being ripped off by nicer young guys than the ones at van city car rental. But in all fairness, I guess if you are going to charge around $800 for a car rental for what amounted to about 50 hours of car rental, it makes sense to be nice about it. One of the gentlemen working there even suggested that it would have been the same price if we had rented the car for one day less O_0 ... Yea. They shamelessly took advantage of my family when we were in a pinch and insisted that they also actually had the lowest rates. Of course, they were very grateful and let us know we were very welcome to use their services with a smile and a handshake when we left. BTW, the free GPS they included in the deal was next to worthless.

I saw a few good and bad reviews, so I was like I'll give them a go, Well the night before i was ment to rent my car the called at 6pm and told me that they couldn't rent me the car i booked so i was like ok, they offered me another car instead so i said ok done. The morning of the pickup, I went to the office and they guy was 15 minutes late and didn't apologize for it just went on like normal. Then he tells me that my pick up time isn't till 2pm because the car that i was offered instead that was the time it was due back and i know and confirmed the booking 3 days in advance when i made it for 8am in the morning. No one informed me of the time change. I just walked out and told him to cancel my booking and went around the corner to budge rental car and paid a little bit more but got what i wanted. So in the end you PAY for what you get! I warn people to stay away from this company. Go with the big guys and save the headaches.

We had a very good experience with vancity car rentals. Actually the only car rental that would help us without a credit card. They stil had cars while the bigger firms had none available for the upcomming days. Our dutch debit card did not work so we where able to make a cash deposit. Friendly personal and a decent price for the car. Would recommand this place to friends.

I noticed a lot of people have mentioned how slow they were. Slow was the best thing I could say about them! They gave us a car with all kinds of problems and they refused to acknowledge this or refund us even though when we took it to Nissan the service department there acknowledged that there were problems. He told us we could drive it providing we drive it "hard". That is, don't slow down, don't stop and for heavens sake do not try to accelerate. I am surprised the Holiday Inn allows these crooks to operate on their property.

Put our lives in danger. The agent told us to continue when the car showed warning message. In the end, car stopped in the middle of the highway and we couldn’t move it to the service lane amidst heavy rain and fog. The company did not take any responsibility and said it was our fault. Was interested is renting a Mustang convertible for a day in July. Found these guys online advertising in red bold font a rate of $109.95/day for a 2016. I reserved online only to receive a reply saying that the rate was actually $159.95 for the same car and date. Their response was "There's a note just below the reservation system that says about the price variations." What a joke. Save your money for a company that has honest, ethical business practices, not petty Bait-and-Switch tactics.

Listen to the negative reviews. I chose to give them the benefit of the doubt - and came to regret it. They gave us a vehicle with a punctured tire - but simply pumped it and gave it to us saying “last time we pumped it and it lasted for a week. You’re going for two days so it will be fine!” It wasn’t. We had to change the spare tire. They gave us a partial refund and a 20% discount on our next booking - needless to say we will not be renting from Vancity Car Rentals again.

SCAMMERS!!! Be careful booking here. I recently visited from Toronto with 3 friends of mine and no one was there to accept the car upon return. The $500 hold was charged fully due to a “smoke smell” in the car... we all play university level sports and are frequently drug tested, this was an easy money grab for them and we will be contacting the BBB! Absolute scam stay as far from them as possible, look on Turo if you need a car.

Unfortunately, I didn't have a good experience with Vancity Car Rental. Firts of all, when we searched the prices, on their website was showing the price of $ 19.99 and they said that it was wrong and they didn't have anything on that price. Second, they offered the service of pick-up, but at any moment they said this was going to be charged. Even on their website, it wasn't saying that in our case it would be charged. When we arrived there to pick-up the car, there were lots of extras fees that made no sense to me, like the pick-up fee, an extra fee for paying with my credit card and using the insurance from my credit card and so forth. At the end, what was supposed to cost $ 29.99 plus taxes, was over $70 the final price. Anyway, as we needed the car and we were already there, we decide to take the care but some fees I refused to pay. The car was wet, smelling bad and the lights for the seat belt and the airbags were on, so I don't know if those were not working properly or what was wrong with the car, but I truly believe that a car shouldn't be rented if has any kind of problem, specially related to safety. So, my overall experience was not good at all and I don't recommend this company.

Eric guaranteed my reservation, Razin picked me up and brought me to the office as well as gave me a thorough rundown of the procedures, and Omar gave me a great deal on the daily fees + New Driver's Insurance! We were actually forced to use this company, because of the problems with our credit card. Well, my boyfriend called the company he asked about the possibility to pay with debit card and how much would it be for the car we wanted. When I came there car was actually MUCH MORE expensive!!!! It was even more expensive as when I was borrowing for four whole days from Budget!!!! and I was only borrowing car for the weekend. They do not have this natural way, that when you won't give car back on sunday evening but monday early morning it does not matter, they charge you as WHOLE EXTRA day!!!!!!! Other thing was the car, the car smelled as somebody was smoking there for goooood 5 years, even the trunk smelled like ash! Then I did not received full gas, only something BELOW 1/3 and they did not even bother to mentioned it!!! When I was giving car back, they of course did not have any problem to take "additional" gas for free, but they gave me pretty hard time to give me back my deposit on the card!!! By the time I was there, there was another customer who got TWO broken cars from them and at the end they did not have problem to charge him extra day, because he was 3 hours late!!!! and another lady who was charged TWENTY dollars for one point of the fuel scale!!!!!! Did I mentioned that they did not offer me NOTHING for the extra gas I gave them??? NEVER EVER, do not rent a car here they are absolutely NOT customer friendly and they do not even try!!!!!!

As long as you're flexible with your travel plans you can't beat the price. We had a flat tire and the manager upgraded our car without issues. Just know that it appears there is only one employee working, so there is a "loose" start to car rental time. Also you can drop off your car after hours which made for extreme convenience!

Being under 21, I was unable to rent a car at any major car rental outlet in Vancouver. After finding vancity car rentals online I's initially skeptical after seeing some negative reviews but my entire experience was anything but negative; the team went above and beyond my expectations to provide good service at a busy time. Rates are not cheap during the peak season but that's every car rental in this city. Car was exceptional!

I rented a car from this company. On the second day of the rental, the car started displaying error messages and I realized the car was unsafe. I did not feel comfortable driving it, particularly with the constant rain in Vancouver in November. I asked the company to pick it up. They told me to "just drive slowly." I refused and told them to pick up the car. They still charged me the entire rental, and a pick up fee. Stay away.

I wouldn't recommend this place, it definitely doesn't have the best service. The website said they had lots of cars available, I called to be sure I could get a car because I was in a pinch. When I arrived, the front desk said they only had one car left which was a full size car and I had requested a smaller one. When I got the car, not only was it below empty in fuel, there was no washer fluid, it had scratches all over it, cigarette butt burn on the seat, stains, and I don't even think it was cleaned after the last customer used it. When I returned the car I made sure I was getting my deposit back, they said it would take up to 24 hours. 4 days later I still hadn't received it so I called and after a couple of calls I finally received my deposit back.

Vancity is great! I've rented from them a couple times and they have first class customer service. I had some blips on the organizational end - made a reservation online then called to confirm the next day. When I arrived they still didn't have a record of it but honoured the reservation and price. In short, make sure you get a reservation # when you reserve. Otherwise staff is friendly, efficient, respectful and flexible! Will rent again.

We wanted to rent a 7 seaters but the car had a transmission problem so we were given 2 cars for the same price. But then we had to pay the fuel twice... they didn’t even agree to pay a part of it! Extra fees always appear from nowhere... Poor and slow customer service, would definitively not recommend that car rental agency.

You won't know till you're in Vancouver... I guess finding a rental car on a Friday in this city is next to impossible. My bf and I had a change in plans so we decided to rent a car and drive to Squamish but couldn't find anything, every place we called were out of cars! We weren't looking for anything fancy but Vancity only had a Mustang convertible available but obviously it wasn't cheap. The good thing was we bargained and got a decent rate. Customer service was good and efficient, everyone were friendly. All in all it was a nice experience. Will surely come back...

After being disappointed by the false assurances for days to confirm my car rental booking by a very high google review local car rental company for a week-long BC & AB road trip & cancelling it, I booked with Vancity Car Rental but felt uncomfortable when I read some of the negative reviews and called them. Ruzeen, for more than 30 mins on the phone very patiently answered all my questions, cleared doubts, explained the service, pinpointed the cost and offered GPS for free of charge. When we actually went to pick up, Omar was super courteous and executed exactly what I was promised and after a quick check upon return, the deposit was immediately returned. Because we booked at Fairmont YVR but dropped off the rental in downtown, Omar paid for our taxi ride even though we didn't want it. It's small gesture but left a big impression on us. Vancity Car Rentals, you are lucky to have Ruzeen and Omar. Thank you for your professionalism and above all, for providing us with an amazing customer experience.

Vancity Car Rentals management and the whole team are a true lifesaver. Here's my story: Travelling from Aussie... I booked a car through Expedia (with Alamo Rent A Car) for my trip in Vancouver and when I got there I learned that you have to be over 25 years old to rent a car. Expedia didn't ask for my age when I booked the rental, so I assumed everything would go according to plan. After not being able to rent at Alamo, I did some searching around and found Vancity and they were happy to honour the Expedia rate although they did charge a $10/day underage fee. At that point, it really didn't matter - I was so glad to have found a rental. The staff were very accommodating and easy to work with. Exceptional service overall. On the other hand, I surely won't rely on sites like Expedia anymore.

I rented a van for 7 people in Sep 2021 and their rental car is not a new car. When I reserved online, it was the Honda Odyssey. When I came there and did the paperwork in person, they told me it was a 2018 Dodge Caravan. However, when I get the car, they gave me a 2016 Dodge Caravan. I checked the registration paper by myself and it is a REBUILT car. It has no backup cam, no homescreen, no bluetooth. The engine light was on and the tires are not good at all. The car was clean outside but it had the smell of the others person driving before us and smell of someone just threw up in here. This is our first time to Vancouver. We rented the car to go from Vancouver to Whistler and because of this smell, we must left the windows open the whole time! Imagine you pay nearly $1000 just to rent the car 2 days and you received a rebuilt car with the engine light on and the tires are not safe enough to park on the hill? I dont think this car would pass the safety test at all. Is this a joke or something? They just charged you the money, cleaned it a bit to make sure it looks nice outside but dont care about the customer's safety and their experiences. This is the worst experience I had so far with a car rental company. You travelled with your friends, drove an unsafe car, no bluetooth to play music in the car with your friends and you must smell the terrible smell the whole trip? I am totally disapointed with the service I received!

A great experience - would highly recommend. They sent a confirmation email a few days before my reservation with complete information and instructions about what to do after arriving at the airport: very reassuring. Called them for a ride from the airport to the rental agency, and they came and picked me up. Had to request a minivan to pick up my whole family, and they complied. Crooks employees and their manager working at the Holiday Inn here in downtown Vancouver They charged the credit card for a car I canceled and they won’t refund the money back I spent 3 days over the phone and 2hrs with them at the hotel and finally the GM of the hotel got involved and in the end they refund the charge The reason we canceled the car was because was a piece of junk back lights won’t work radio won’t work and the whole car inside was burned from cigarettes this was the reason we canceled ! No customer service ever!!! Advice go and rent from legit companies like enterprise , sixt etc.

Worst place to rent a car. I have originally booked a vehicle on Saturday and Sunday so I could go to Whistler first thing in the Sunday morning. When I went to the place exact on time. They did not have the vehicle ready; worst thing is that they made me wait for 30 mins and just before they were about to close, they told me that they don't have the vehicle and they will have something first thing in the morning and they would call me first thing in the morning. I trusted them but they never called until noon so I called and they had no clue about my vehicle. I was so mad that I trusted them and the worst thing is that their manager was supposed to call me but never did. I would never rent a vehicle from this place. I strongly suggest you don't make the mistake. They overbook and see if there are any cancelations to make extra $$$.

rented a vehicle here for 8 days, upon my return i notified the representative, that there was a problem with the gps, as when you started the navigation, the screen kept going to other screens constantly. i was told the manager would get back in touch in the next few days. after 7 days and 2 emails the manager replied, saying the gps was checked thoroughly with no faults, and even re rented without complaint. this was utter rubbish, i drove the car for 8 days and 2500km and it never gave me 1 hour trouble free, so mr eric evans i put it to you, that you never checked it, and i paid $88 for a useless gps. i replied and challenged their diagnosis, but without reply ! a very disappointing end to an otherwise trouble free rental.

Rented a car couple weeks ago. I was told I was going to get billed for the damage to the vehicle which was a scratch at the front fender. No recollection this happened at all but I understand that they have to bill me because it was in my possession. But what I don't understand is why they never sent my the bill that they said they will instead they charged me such a high amount on my credit without my knowledge no receipts or anything. Please read their policy very carefully as there are a lot of sneaky ways they cash grab. I have tried to get in contact with them through email but I have not yet received a response. PS watch out for fake reviews.

I had a reservation with Hertz at the YVR airport. Little did I know that they don't accept debit cards - they didn't mention this when I made the original booking and well, it didn't strike me to ask. I was frustrated while trying to convince the Hertz representative to give me a car but it didn't seem like he was doing anything for me. About 10 minutes later, the manager Rick showed up and apologized and told us that he knows a place that might be able to help. He phoned the Vancity guys and saved our whole trip. The Vancity rep. was there to pick us up shortly and took us to their location in downtown Vancouver. Everything was straight forward from there on out, we spent 10 minutes getting the paperwork done and they gave us a range of options to choose from. We drove to California and back in an Audi Q7. What can I say? The most beautiful drive I've done in one of the nicest SUVs! Thanks Rick (at Hertz) and Vancity rentals. Everything turned out so much better. Still don't understand why other car rentals in Vancouver don't take debit cards. I will keep this company in mind and be sure to tell family+friends!!! ???????????? - Thilanka from Sri Lanka

This was my first time trying vancity car rental & I was a bit nervous, because I usually stick to the ‘big brands’ I’ve always known. But we are SO glad we gave them a try. We were blown away by the service, efficiency, communication & of course the rates at vancity car rental . They had the best prices - which really affected my decision, when renting a big vehicle for a full week. But on top of that, their communication was so helpful and we were only about 15 minutes taxi drive from the car pickup location. Upon arrival, from check in to driving away only took a total of 5 minutes! Drop-off was just as easy & quick. We will definitely rent from vancity in the future - thank you so much!

Very good service, for my first time driving abroad the staff made me feel extremely comfortable and placed me into a very nice dodge charger which was white with grey interior. They took their time to explain the road signs in Vancouver and greeted me with a smile not once , made me feel comfortable and the price was very reasonable. Vancity is the only car rental that will accept a cash deposit in Vancouver. I rented a Mazda 3 for 5 days, it was fuel economy and a great car overall. I also found the staff to be very generous and helpful. This is the place where they don't charge you for rental accessories: GPS systems, car phone chargers, aux cables, etc. How cool is that? Thank you guys very much for the pick-up and drop-off service. I always support small businesses and see all the reasons to keep going back. P.S. 8/28/17 Vancity Car Rental Customer Service Customer Service Agent; I would like to take the time to Thank You and your Agent Ruzeen at the Howe Street Holiday Inn. My wife and I had originally rented a car from Enterprise for our 11 day stay in British Columbia, traveling from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Just prior to our departure on the 10th we discovered that Enterprise does not except debit leaving us in a pickle. After a few more hours of pre arranging we thought we now had a Car Rental with National until we arrived at YVR at the National Rental Desk when they refused to rent us a car. Even though we had a conformation from the Company vai Email accepting our debit. I always thought Cash was better than Credit but not so I guess. While sitting in the Vancouver Airport having spent 3 hours trying to find a car, we get a call from Ruzeen, he has got a car for us! He was polite, we explained this was a debit card, not a problem a retainer or deposit will take care of that, the car was clean, good on gas and our Vacation went as planned. I can only Thank You for doing what you say you do, both Enterprise and National definitely don’t , Thanks Again for saving our 10 days in British Columbia. Honestly, it was the worst experience I ever had renting a car. First of all, the guy at the desk asked me "where are you going with the car?" After letting him know that it wasn't of his concern, he clarified that he needed to know if I was crossing the USA border. The question could have been asked differently. The price was twice the amount I got on the internet when I did the reservation. I also booked a GPS and once I was there, they looked for a GPS in a drawer full with cables and other stuff while saying "we may not have one". They gave me a GPS which cable was lose, so I had to come back and ask for another cable. The new cable worked, but the GPS never went over the welcoming screen. They didn't have the car I booked (hatchback) instead, they gave me a big 4x4 car that spent much more petrol than I expected. And they said that the tank was full, but I realized it wasn't as soon as I actually filled the tank fully. Very bad experience overall.

we had a horrible experience with renting a car from Wed. Sept. 21 to Sat. Sept. 24. We used the car to travel to Victoria via the ferry service from vancouver. Once we stopped the car in a parking lot we had the car stall every time we tried to put the car in drive or reverse. We tried this numerous times during a 30 minute period. When we called the Vancity car rental we were told to have the car towed to a local garage in Victoria to have it inspected and to pay for the cost initially so they could settle with us later. They also started asking if we did anything to the car etc which was very offensive. We never received consideration for providing another car to get us out of the situation but instead we were supposed to resolve the problem ourselves. We eventually forced the car to drive by applying more gas forcefully and this got the car to move forward however with much hesitation from the engine everytime we tried to slow down. We did not feel the car was safe. The car ended up at a Nissan dealer for 2 days while we commuted by bus and had to rent another car in Victoria. The car dealer could not find the problem after 2 days of diagnostics. We went to test drive the car on Sat morning to see if we could drive the car back to Vancouver via the ferry, We were able to get the car back to the car rental company by applying the gas more aggressively and keeping it in neutral while applying more gas when we were at a stop. The car still hesitated significantly when we tried to accelerate which did not make us feel safe especially since the car could stall without warning. What we should have done was left the car at the Nissan dealership for them to retrieve at their own expense. The nissan dealer gave us excellent service on a car we were renting and provided us shuttle service back to our rental condo. They tried to assist us more than Vancity Car Rental did. Based on the risks that they imposed and lack of proper support we felt that the least they would do is delete all charges for the rental instead they allowed 2 days credit from the 4. The rental company still insisted that the car did not have any problems which I assumed was to coverup for any potential liability claims. Based on how they handled the situation we feel that they are not worthy of our business and any recommendations.

They picked us up at our hotel, brought us back to their place to do the paperwork and gave us tips to ensure that our stay in Vancouver was the best it could be. We booked a 2014 SUV for 3 days and all it took was a simple phone call to extend our rental for an additional day. When we returned the rental, they offered us a ride to the airport; the man who drove us, was very pleasant too. I'd highly recommend this company - very pleased to do business with them. Had a horrible time with these people. Got surprised when I arrived with unusually high insurance fees. I should have listened to my gut and walked away then but I didn't. Then the car broke on us while driving, then they charged me and extra $200 for the 'damage' even though I paid for the insurance to cover it. I am currently working with my bank to recover the charge. But please stay away. I usually have great experiences with car hire places. I hire them a lot. Not here. Horrible.

Made a phone reservation for a car. Guy on the phone told me, that car rental price for a day will be less than $30 and that security cash deposit will be $500. When I arrived at their office to pick up a car they told me, that rental price will be over $80 with some mystical additional charges. Security deposit $1000. I was in a hurry so I agreed to pay what they were asking for. * On their web page they say "Vancity Car Rentals Inc. is proudly Canadian owned" - maybe they are Canada citizens, but originally they're from India.. * "We respect the value of your time and will never keep you waiting. Pick up your car in just 5 minutes." - whole process took about 45 minutes until I got the car. * They even didn't ask me what car do I want. I wanted a compact car (told that over the phone), but got mid-size, which was not suitable for me! * Car itself was terrible. Everything inside was sticky, windshield dirty from inside, there was no windshield wash fluid, car seats had multiple cigarette burns... When I picked up the car, fuel indicator showed 3 bars (about 1/4 of tank). I drove around a city, finished my errands and before returning a car I was going to refuel tank to 3 bars (currently showed 2 bars). I fueled for $10 - still 2 bars. Ok, another $10 - still 2 bars. Things getting strange.. Another $20 - STILL 2 BARS! That's INSANE! And after another $5 fuel indicator rised to almost full tank! My friend has exactly the same car and he never experienced anything like this! I think, that they somehow altered fuel indicator to scam people! DO NOT TRUST those people from INDIA! NEVER RENT A CAR FROM THEM!

The staff were friendly. The car was OK. The advertised price was a pleasant surprise compared to what larger rental companies were offering in the downtown Vancouver area. They told me that their company policy was to not allow third party insurance (like the policy I have for my personal vehicle). The "optional" coverage is therefore not "optional", and the rental price was about $30 per day more than I expected to pay. It is disappointing when the rental agreement has a spot where you are allowed to decline the extra coverage, but they won't rent to you if you sign there. If you are going to have to pay the extra coverage anyway, then it's not big deal.

Only place I could find that would rent a van to someone under 25 (22). Took the van down to Seattle for a Seahawks game with 6 of my friends. Dodge van had only 40k on it and was perfect. No dings, perfect interior and great on gas. Was extremely happy with the entire experience.

Rented a medium sized car for a roadtrip from Vancouver to Calgary and was absolutely stunned by how cheap the car hire was during peak season! Staff were helpful, accommodating and friendly. I picked up the car with a full tank, clean, spacious and ready to go. GPS did not work on the last day - but was completely refunded by the company. On dropping the car back I was kindly taken to Vancouver train station by one of the staff - which was a thoughtful gesture. I would highly recommend hiring a car with them!

Worse customer service ever. We were supposed to take possession of the car at 9am and were then told that the car we asked for wouldn't be available for the next 30-45 minutes. The employe offered us another car of a superior category for the same price, but it wasnt the car that we wanted. Then it took the employe forever to serve us, as he was answering is phone that was constantly ringing. When he finally brought the car he explained to us that we couldnt install the baby car seat and that we had to do it ourselves, but wouldnt give us any directions on how to do it. Finally, when we gave back the car the day after, it took a long time to get some service, the employe verified the car without us and finally refused to give us a copy of the receipt. Dont go there!

Extremely slow service. There was no one ahead of me in line and it still took over an hour to get the car I had reserved in advance. No one was even at the desk for the first half hour that I waited. When an employee finally arrived he tried to add an additional $100 of insurance to the bill that I didn't need without asking. After finally paying he told me to have a seat and that he would be back with the car in 5 minutes. It has now been over 20 minutes and I am still waiting as I write this. Extremely frustrating way to start my vacation.

Omar save the day ! Last Saturday We needed a car for just one day. For some unknown reason nothing was available anywhere or at over $600. I thought it was strange that we got a confirmation from Expedia at Vancity rental when they just had confirmed they were full for that day. We went to their office and Omar was able to find something for us respecting Expedia’s price. Great service, helpful. Great dat in whistler !

The car that I was given had multiple problems and on the second day of rental the car battery died. I had to waste lots of time till a new battery was put in by the CAA. I was offered a discount for the problems I endured with the car - the owner of the company actually called and re-instated the offer of one free rental day. I need to add that the rental of my particular car was an extraordinary - set in a hurry as my original rental with Budget was cancelled and I was informed of this only went to pick up the car.

Sketchy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Scam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nasty guy!!!!!!!!!!!!! The sketchiest car rental you can find! The guy first tried to rip us off before we accepted a reasonable rate. But this isn't the worst part. The car we got is a piece of junk. At first glance, it seems ok. But when we realised that the car made terrible noise we started to inspect the car. So full of problems. when we drove it back to the guy to ask for an explanation he, like other reviews mention, simply refused to acknowledge the problems and pretend that there is no problem. We insisted that we want to get another car. We went there on time to pick up another car he promised us. But he told us to wait for an hour. So we ended up getting a much smaller car cuz we didn't wanna wait. The smaller car is in pretty bad condition as well although not as bad as the other one. And yet this business just doesn't cease to surprise us. Despite that he promised that all the cars are perfectly safe, I found that the air bag for the passenger seat is gone! I wish I checked the reviews before I decided to rent from him. This place really drives you crazy. I also highly suspect those 5 star ratings. probably paid reviews. Vancity car rental deserves 0 star.

Terrible company. We rented a Ford Focus from them, which, several days into our trip, broke down. We lost 3 entire days of our trip visiting garages, trying to fix the issue, which turned out to be a faulty alternator. We also wasted time waiting for the repairs to be made. Van City were completely unable to help with organising the repairs, nor were they able to send a replacement car, so we had to sort the issue with the garages ourselves AND had to front the money ourselves. When I asked Van City to give us something to compensate for the inconvenience, they offered a paltry $100 refund - in exchange for two people losing THREE days of their vacation!!! I refused to accept such a pathetic amount. The manager also acted like a complete coward and refused to speak to me on the phone or be present at the office to discuss this matter, he only conversed with me by very slow-to-reply emails. Don't waste your time, go to a bigger company which rents fully functioning cars and offers real customer service. These guys are a joke.

This rent a car shop sucks. I made a reservation at 8am. Next day, we went to the shop to pick a car up at 10:00am. However they rent the car for other people and did not prepare the car for us and waited for more than one hour. I promise that I will never rent a car at this shop.

Absolutely horrible! They never give you the car u reserve and the vehicle I did end up with was absolutely junk! Broke down on us on the side of the highway. Would never go here again!
