BMW 750li. Enjoyed the car very much. My wife enjoyed the luxury a lot. KM before extra charge was a bit lower than I had expected, but that’s par for the course on luxury rental. Front desk counter was quick and courteous and I used the after hours drop off. The security deposit of $5000 was promptly removed after they opened in the morning and the final charges were exactly what I expected. I appreciate how quick they were with that. I would rent from This company again.

Process was quick and easy - I think this is the one of the few agencies that I was able to find in Vancouver that accepted novice licenses. Price point was great and affordable, and the car was really clean - I would definitely recommend them if you are travelling! Definitely will use this agency again in the future.

The male receptionist who was an Asian guy was super rude to say the least wish I got his name but I was so frustrated with his behavior. On the other hand the vahicle inspection guy was amazing. He should be working in a better position than that. Both the stars are for him not for the company.

I have rented from Pacific 3 times in recent months. I switched from Budget because even though I have Budget Rapidrez, the service was incredibly slow, especially when returning a vehicle. The service has always been quick and easy and their summer rates are cheaper than Budget. I see the negative reviews retlated to insurance claims, but I think this happens at all rental companies, and can be avoided. Always thoroughly check the vehicle before leaving, and upon return with an employee. Avoid after hours drop offs, and if the office is closed, photograph the car completely. The parking lot at this location is not secured.

This place left a terrible impression on me. First we went to the location and got a quota that was acceptable. The next time we called, they said that it was a mistake and that it's gonna be slightly more. One day later, when we finally called to book the car, our reservation wasn't there anymore and the guy on the phone gave me a price that was much higher than what we've gotten so far. Also, the person on the phone was talking in a very rude tone and had basically no patience at all. In the end, he hung up on me by telling me a lie that we can't book a car without extra snow tires, because it is illegal on some BC highways and they won't risk. Snow tires were not necessary since the cars are equipped with totally legit winter tires (M+S).

Important: I planned my vacation day in Vancouver for renting a vehicle at this location to go around the city, while getting the vehicle I was required a 2500 cad deposit for a 24 hr rental - for some people ill say this is super important information as they can ruin your day if you don't have that amount ready. I WONT recommend this place at all...

Really wanted to like this place, rental rates were reasonable, close by, and they inventoried 4Runners. However, if anything goes wrong be prepared as they don't check their cars for basic tools which can leave you stranded. Unfortunately, whilst taking my family on a road trip across BC we hit a pothole flatting the back rear tire. We thought "no biggie' we'll just change the tire. However, Pacific Car rentals failed to do a thorough check through the car and didn't include an owners manual and lock nut key. We were SOL, out of service on the side of the highway. Luckily a bystander pulled over and offered his gps phone. We called BCAA and luckily were towed back to town about 3hrs later with the sun setting. The entire next day was then wasted waiting for a tire shop to cut the lock and replace the tire, delaying our drive home by about 8-10hrs. This delay being crucial as it made us get stuck in Vernon on the way home due to forest fires. Thus delaying the return of the car by 8 hrs, or an extra day. At this point of the trip we were looking to resolve this issue smoothly, as we didn't appreciate being stranded and delayed due to such an easy fix. We were met however with an owner named Brad who said "well we always put a manual & lock key in the car", blamed us for ruining his next reservation, never apologized and tried to charge us to replace 4 tires. Him stating that because it's a 4wheel drive vehicle that this is needed. What he fails to tell you is that he also OWNS A CANADIAN TIRE, and they'd be doing the work. How convenient eh? I got Toyota themselves involved and they quickly denied the need, as a car as new as theirs did not need 4 changed, let alone two. Pacific eventually came around and agreed to the 1 tire change. I agreed to pay the one tire replacement if they comped my towing. However what I didn't agree to was them charging my CC for the extra day (their fault for delaying us), and an extra gas charge, even though I returned the car with gas just under half, which is the same as I picked the car up with. In closing, if all goes well I'm sure they're ok to deal with, but if it doesn't prepare for the worst. I will not be renting again from Pacific.

Price point is the best you will find. They charged us $30 to add an additional driver, however we were not told this when we signed up. I did not even end up driving the car and we had to pay $30 just to add me as a secondary driver. Not the most transparent business practice.

My dad, a senior, rented a Chevy Spark for a week from PCR to get to Penticton and back. It was in great shape, took us there and back - no problem. The rates and reviews were the best I found in Vancouver (and now I know why), the facility was clean upon entry, and all the staff was very friendly (and easy on the eyes, if I may say so!) I was added as an authorized driver after I renewed my licence in Penticton, and the staff was very accommodating then, and with the two times I needed to extend this rental. I was concerned I was going to have to jump through hurdles to be added to the contract, and for the two extensions, but there was zero hassle. Emails were very prompt! I am under the impression this is a local, family-owned business. The larger corps ought to take note from these people. Thank you all for such a positive rental experience - I've witnessed so many of my friends go through terrible ones. I now know who to recommend them to! :)

Friendly and efficient staff. Thorough check before leaving. The only thing is that the Toyota Highlander we rented got some serious brake malfunctions when we were driving on hwy. brake failed to stop or even slow down and we nearly hit the car in front of us, which was super dangerous. I had to exert drastically more pressure on brake to make the car stop. Luckily there was no accident but seriously it was scary. When I returned the car, I told the staff about this issue and was told they do have their cars examined once a year at the dealer. Please DO have the highlander checked ASAP. Don’t want anyone else to be put in such scary and dangerous situations again!!!

Very helpful staff, availability of cars with snow and winter tires for excursions north, no push for insurance, very thorough walk around the car to note exterior defects before I drove out. I had a terrible experience with them.The main thing is their Insurance Policy.I had ICBC investigating them as I was covered by them but Pacific Car Rental charge me $2276, yes that's right.ICBC paid half of it according to them even they don't know why Pacific charge me Arm n a leg for a Scratch on a Car.So Pls. be sure before returning the Car Their deductible for Insurance is $5000 so if anything under that happens you are responsible for that,a Scratch can cost you a LOT... There were in fact several scuffs that I was indeed responsible for which could have been removed with a magic eraser. Very disappointed in this car rental experience. Came to visit Vancouver for my stag, requested a luxury sport SUV at first, such as a jeep Grand Cherokee Srt. This car was unavailable so I rented their Platinum Edition Escalade instead. Had this vehicle delivered at my hotel and picked up upon return. Had their rental agreement explained thoroughly and the driver happily answered any questions I had. Didn't feel rushed at all, so i took my time understanding their terms and conditions. Great service, friendly people and an AWESOME selection of luxury cars. P.S. Vancouver is a beautiful city, had a great weekend here and all my buddies enjoyed it.

Visiting from Australia, I hired a Mid-Size SUV AWD for 23 days, we drove from Vancouver to Calgary and back again, visiting all the ski fields along the way. Car didn't miss a beat. Pretty comfy, good fuel economy, had the works, fantastic vehicle. I dealt with James, he was great. Gave us a really good deal. We were running a little late returning the car, we didn't get charged extra, just rang ahead and let James know. Very easy and helpful bunch. Next time I come back to do another road trip, I will definitely go back to them.

They will charge comparatively a large amount of money for deposit (1400$ for my case, rented BMW for one night only) and the deposit will not be refunded or released for more than a month if your card is international. I had to pay out for which I had not actually spent and I am still waiting to see it to be refunded after a month. Very very unproductive, compared to other big name rental companies.

I have rented a number of vehicles from Pacific Car Rentals due to the nature of my business - there is a reason why I continue to rent cars from here every time I am in Vancouver. I can't even begin to describe the customer service I have encountered with each and every rental. I find this company to be extremely accomodating and they always look for ways to go above and beyond. When I arrived at YVR airport, they came and picked me up for free and drove me back to their office in downtown for my rental! Prior to renting their vehicle, I wasn't sure which of my credit cards had rental car coverage on it. So I asked the staff, and they picked out the right credit card to use for future rentals. During one of my rentals, I hit a pillar while parking and damaged the back bumper. Even damaging a vehicle was hassle free and they answered all questions and addressed any concern that I had, since it was my first time hitting ANYTHING while parking. What a great company to do business with. I firmly recommend them to anyone interested in renting a quality vehicle, and I would like to thank the staff for all of their help. Cheers.

Very poor experience. We have been here twice and will not return after our last experience. Very poor customer service. The girl that served us was clearly hung over and came in late. It took them almost an hour to give us our car, did not communicate with us as to why it was taking so long, just said "he's bringing it right down" (we were told this 3 times). Turns out they were cleaning the car, I feel the car should have been clean and ready when we got there. We requested an 8am pick up because we had a long drive and needed to get to our destination at a specific time. We ended up being 45 mins late to our destination because of they didn't have the car ready for us. The customer service of the owner/manager was terrible, was not apologetic at all for taking so long to get us the car, was annoyed when we asked for help setting up the bluetooth. The car's air conditioning wasn't working properly and it was a 30 degree day. Then when we return the car and got the bill they said it was $20 for an extra driver when we were told it was only $10 in the office. We do not recommend using this car rental.

Since this past February I have rented a car numerous times from Pacific, about 75 plus days in total. I was impressed by their staff and I appreciated their pricing, which was very competitive in comparison to the usual large car rental companies. It is my goal to try and support small local companies whenever possible. In order to pick up and return the car rental I travelled from Burnaby by train, even though there are a number of other rental companies within walking distance. The manager at the time was excellent and appreciated my return business by giving me a good rate. As well, she did what she could to accommodate my car needs when I needed to extend a rental period. This last time, I required a car rental in October for one week. The price I was quoted was comparable to what I could rent through my Costco membership. However, that meant having to rent from one of the large car rental companies and I prefer to support local. So I rented from Pacific. It happened that I needed to have the car for one more day at the end of the seven day rental term. I emailed my request in advance to Pacific and this was replied to promptly. I was quoted a price for the additional day that I felt was too high. In the past I would have been charged an extra day based on the weekly rate. This time the rate I was quoted for an additional day was going to be the regular daily rate. To make matters worse, I would have been able to rent the exact same vehicle for $5 cheaper if I had just returned the car that I had rented for the week and booked the same type of car on the Pacific Car rental booking site. So...I returned my car rental and instead of using a car I made do by using the train and bus system. I am writing this review because I hope that someone in upper management reads this and provides training to the individual who is managing this office so that this individual is better equipped to provide top notch service to their customers, in particular their return customers. As I stated earlier, my goal is to support the local small businesses. When I returned the car today, there were many cars just sitting in the parking lot. This has not been the case in the past. I really want Pacific to do well and thrive.

SCAM!!! please avoid at all cost. go to big rental car companies. I rented a car in the Vancouver location, their definition of "damages" is anything they feel like. I rented cars for a long time from the US, Canada, HK and London, all the major car rental companies will give you a definition of damage. Cometic damages are not included if its smaller than a certain area which they will provide you with a circle to measure. I barely drop the car, and i did not hit anything AT ALL. Even dropped it off early cause we just needed for the afternoon. I get an email in the morning saying there are damages like i went drag racing..with a corolla. PLEASE AVOID TO GET SCAMMED

I have been looking into a number of companies in recent weeks in order to ease the process of renting a couple of vehicles this Summer. I decided to go with Pacific as a result of various reviews and because of their vast selection of vehicles I saw online. I found my experience to be prompt, professional and courteous, but most importantly easy. The staff answered all my questions and there was no delay in obtaining the car I had booked. Forget about even saying this is the WORST car rental place ever, NO ONE should even step foot in that place. If I could leave a 0 Star review, I would. EVERYONE please be aware!! The people that work here, (especially Raquel and Zan) will stoop to their lowest to get money out of you. My fiancé and I needed to rent a car urgently for our pre wedding shoot. Raquel, (as seen in the reviews below) came across extremely nice (fake), over the phone. She provided me with an affordable price quote for a Ford Mustang. Since we were in a rush, she reassured us that the process of picking up the car would only take 10 min. When I arrived, both Raquel and her co-worker, “Zan”, were sitting at the front desk. As soon as I presented my ID, Zan said I was required to pay another fee for being an under-aged driver even though my fiancé was going to be driving the car. It felt like as soon as he saw my age, his attitude towards me changed. He became rude and intimidating by packing on extra fees. Raquel, did not tell my fiancé over the phone that he needed to provide his ID if he was not coming to pick up the car. Zan came across very threatening as soon as I said I did not have my partner's ID. He said it needed to be sent by email immediately or we would be charged another fee. I should have walked out of there right then, but I was desperate as our videographer had other commitments and we were already running late. It was also very cold and raining terribly. I tried to stay calm; (I now realize I should have done my homework, checked the reviews about these people being scammers who will go to any length to scrape every penny off you).The one question I asked Zan, was what was the latest time, we could return the car by, he responded with another threat, "By 6pm and if you don't return it by then, I am going to charge you for another day." He then took me outside, walking ahead of me acting snobby. He gave me the quickest run-through of the car, with his intimidating demeanor, I tried to quickly check for any scratches; (Now that I look back I realize why he was trying to rush me), so I could miss a scratch/dent. Fast forward, my fiancé and I used the car for hardly an hour for the video shoot, barely drove it; (just to the shoot location in Vancouver and back). We figured since we were done using the car as part of our shoot, we would drop back the car and then go back to location to complete the remaining shoot. When we came to drop off the car, Zan was at the reception. He asked if we had filled up the gas. It had a been a very busy day and we had completely forgotten to stop by a gas station. Assuming that we barely drove it, we asked Zan if we could just pay the difference instead of going to find a gas station in the midddle of downtown (it was still pouring rain and was already dark). He said we would have to pay $100 extra. We thought that way too much considering we drove the car 15-20 km max. So my fiancé decided to go look for a gas station. Zan threatened us again that if we didn't bring the car by 6pm we would be charged for an additional day (it was approx 5:30 pm then). We tried to search for a gas station with no luck; it was close to 6pm plus there was so much traffic on a Friday evening. We headed back to the rental place and paid 100$. Zan didn't even take a proper look at the car ..it was like he knew what he was looking for and pointed right away at a scratch we had not even noticed. Plus he said the bumper was sticking out a little. We had barely used the car and on top of that we had insurance/full coverage in case anything happened; so we wouldn't be stupid not to confess if we had actually scratched the car....we tried to explain that to him. He then brought us back to the reception where he informed us that he would not return the deposit until the details had been finalized...he also said we would need to pay an extra $500. When I asked him why, he could not give me a reason; he just kept on repeating that it’s a standard procedure. To Be Continued in Part 2.

N.B : This issue was resolved amicably and the charges were settled! This incident happened at their West Hastings Street location but they are the same management and the same guy is in charge shuttling between these two locations. Here is an account of my experience with them: (I am a frequent traveler for the past 10 years as part of my work) Staying at the Marriott Pinnacle Hotel, I rented a car from them for the sake of convenience since they are located within the same premises for a day. On my return, I parked the car on the Marriott hotel drive way in front of their location at 3:00 AM the following day in perfect condition. I get a call from Pacific Car Rental @ 11:00 AM mentioning there is a flat tire. I am still in possession of the rental at that time. I was offered a spare tire change and was initially told that they will fix the tire and charge me. Finally they stated that the tire is irreparable, charged me for the price of a new tire based on an online Canadian tire quote apart from charging me for tire mounting charges; road-side assistance for a total of $ 319.19 above my actual rental charges for a day. They said not to worry and asked me to claim from insurance as they have been doing this for a long time. The car was fine while dropping off and I felt slightly suspicious right from the start. Since I was busy traveling, I thought the insurance company would take care of the issue. Finally my rental insurance through my credit card said that since it did not involve collision and also based on my report wherein I stated that the car was fine while dropping off and did not notice any tire damage, they rejected the claim. Since I was suspicious from the start, I asked the rental company to produce the actual tire invoice since they retracted from their initial statement of just fixing the tire. After two weeks and couple of reminders they sent me a forged invoice from Canadian tire wherein the information like car make and model, tire size , date etc... were poorly photo-shopped. I checked with Canadian tire for the authenticity of the invoice and they came back saying it has discrepancies and even mentioned that there were two tire sizes on the same line item I.e., they photo-shopped one tire size and left the other one in a hurry.The tire mounting invoice was forged too. When I mentioned my findings, they quickly apologized and quickly pulled another online quote and refunded a part of the difference. Based on couple of events which has taken place since then, makes me believe that the tire was simply fixed and was not replaced as they initially claimed. This whole thing could have very well been a setup and they are that kind of people who can pull such a thing.

Booked a car two months prior to travel, got email confirmation. Car was different despite email and was dirty inside, rotten fruit under seats. Outside was clean. They made a point of saying front of car low, and rushed the check process. We were careful then got charged twice the quote for a small scratch to underside of front bumper. Quoted $70 charged $160CAD. Took a video which shows no visible damage. Damage was too low to see - possibly already there upon pickup. Would take the time to video whole car before renting here, and then again when returned. Sent an email with these issues - no response, but my credit card has already been charged. Won't use them again on next years trip.

Such a horrible experience with this company. They charged me two months ago for me parking at the wrong spot, which belonged to a separate parking company. I have received a letter from the parking company saying that I have to pay for the fine?? I spoke to one of the agents on July 31st and asked them to pay. Till now, they have not paid to the parking company and their response was that they will let me know when they decided to pay and it can be tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, or the day after that. Only thing that ever upset us was that they were going to charge us an extra day for being slightly late on a return. We were disappointed to hear this, and did explain as we book with them so often. They gave us an extra hour in the end, but we did remember this for future bookings as wasn’t a nice feeling.

this summer i was visiting Vancouver and renting a vehicle seems like a good idea but unfortunately all major companies were sold out. so i found local company called pacific car rentals and o boy they had some cars to offer...from economy to all kinds of exotic vehicles, convertibles, luxury suvs like Escalade. It was a nice sunny day so i decided to rent mustang convertible. The good thing it was available and the price was really reasonable for peak of summer. The staff at pacific car rentals was really helpful, they even gave some recommendations what to see and visit nearby Vancouver area all tough they were very busy. The car was great, almost brand new with leather interior and with all the bells and whistles but what i liked the most is the v6 engine...the best experience ever. If i ever return to Vancouver i will definitely go again with pacific car rentals. Thumbs up!!!

For a number of reasons, unbeatable service. they give great friendly service and make it easy and smooth to reserve with them. The cars are great and reasonably priced, I would even say great rate if you stay within 300km a day. The guys and gal there are also quite accommodating and even helped me find a solution when I had an issue with my cc. Great experience every time. I recommend to rent from them for sure.

I have been renting car from them three times. It's a good dealer generally but one car has defect. The gas meter cannot read properly. I ended paying a lot of more gas than I should have. Also gas in Vancouver is really expensive $1.70. When complainong this issue to the customer service. They didn't seem to care at all. It's really disappointing since they made a good impression in the first 2 times.

We rented a car last minute to drive to Squamish for a day. Initially there were no cars available (it was a weekend so most were booked out), but with a short wait at reception, the attendant was able to shift a couple of things around and found us the mid-sized car we wanted. We felt very lucky in that regard. They go over the car with you for any marks etc before leaving. We were happy with the service and the return process was very easy. They checked the car at the time of return, so processed our deposit refund straight away. They had no issues with my Australian licence. Overall an excellent experience at a reasonable price.

The car was very clean as well. They also offer free parking in the parking garage next to them. This was convenient for me as I stayed close by and didn’t have to worry about paying for parking. We arrived in Vancouver by way of a cruise ship and had a full day to fill before we left for Seattle. We rented an economy car from Pacific Car Rentals. Their prices are extremely fair and competitive but the service is what made this the best deal. The staff are friendly and helpful. When there was a problem with a taxi arriving to take us to the train station one of the employees offered to drive us in his own car. We will definitely use this rental company when we are in Vancouver on our next trip.

I rented a Van for the weekend, when I return it it was on an bank holiday so no one was around. I checked over the Van along with my 6 other passengers and everything was OK. Two days later i received an email with a $1000 receipt for a new windshield and a smiley face at the bottom of the email. I taught this was a joke so I went straight back to office and asked them that what was up. They said that there was a crack and that was the minimum price I had to pay was $1000, I explained that I was not willing to pay and could I see the Van? The Van is gone..... rented out to someone else.... is this legal. I said I will pay, but that I would contact them back when I look into it. As soon as I left they took out $1000 out from my credit card. I am sure that there might of been a very small hole either from me or someone before me and that when they were cleaning the car, the crack appeared. The best insurance they provide does not included the windscreen or any exterior part of their cars. The Van had no VIN number and the licence plate on picture did not match the receipt for the windscreen, and how does a windscreen cost $1000, do they have a partner in this. Good price and nice cars and seem nice people but they need to fix their insurance out. This cost me every penny I owned.

I was the first to rent their new luxury SUV they had just got in. It was a top of the line 2015 new model Cadillac Escalade. This vehicle was more than expected. It worked wonders for my brothers wedding and I would suggest it to anyone, such a nice Suv!!! Couldn't seem to find an Escalade anywhere in the city, thankfully this place had one! The van itself was decent - there were few dents on the body but inside was good enough. No rattles or crazy engine noises. They allowed flexible key drop off timings as well.
