REVIEWS OF View Street Parkade IN Victoria

An hour of free parking in downtown Victoria, what a nice little surprise!???? Thanks to the owner for that. Clean and easy to navigate. The young lady who took our validation slip when we left was pleasant and friendly. Plenty of signage. Elevator was appreciated too. Parking stalls are a bit cramped for larger cars or trucks, but that's not unusual, anywhere. Will definitely use their service again.????

Decent amount of spaces, first hour is free and cheaper than parking on the street. Has a security guard that patrols regularly and has a few spots for electronic vehicles.

You can park for free for a maximum of 1 hour downstairs. You have to remove you car after that. You can also park longer upstairs (CAD 2/hour). Parking spaces are a bit small. You have to pay using an app. Convenient location.

This parkade is amazing. It has like, 7 floors that you can park on. The Best! But seriously. it's a parkade.

Fairly central location. Only main annoyance is driving around slow users who block off the entire stretch of View St when you don't want to use the parkade and want to drive in the direction from Blanshard to Douglas St. The parkade doesn't usually get full and is normally idiot-proof but somehow congestion happens anyway.

Parking in the City of Victoria Parkades is generally a better option than street parking.

One nice thing about View St is that each level has an assigned colour. Did you ever notice that the level colours follow the ROYGBV sequence? Look at the signs! Higher floors = higher frequency. Amazingly simple. Simply amazing. The elegance and unassailable logic of this architectural design concept gives rise to the uniquely satisfying feeling that, no matter what happens, something is right in the world. Indeed, no matter what your parking needs are, be they simple or complex - wherever you are - when you need parking, and you need it done right, View St is there for you. And when you are finished with your parking, the corkscrew off-ramp - an architectural marvel - is there to deliver you and your vehicle gently back into the arms of the city. You pay the toll, the gate rises (unless it is a Sunday, in which case the gate is already up), and you are reborn. The Legend of View St lives on, as does the mystique surrounding this iconic parkade, surely one of Victoria’s finest.

Parking is always more expensive than we want it to be. First hour free however, and that's a major plus. Central location as well.

It was a thrill to park in this lot. It is was busy so we had to go all the way up to level 6. At first I experienced apprehension about the slow spirally climb to level 6, as I really needed the bathroom, but once we parked, we were rewarded with the most beautiful shade of purple. As previously mentioned by my fellow reviewers, the building is charmingly colour-coded, and boy oh boy would I really recommend the journey to level 6 just for this exquisite shade. At once calming and refreshing, Level Six Purple will bring you hope, connection, and entertainment. We waited for the elevator for about a hundred years, but this afforded my friend and I ample time for a photoshoot next to the purple level 6 sign for her tinder profile. My friend was visiting from Vancouver, so I'm so glad I could show her a really special highlight of our city that she just couldn't find at home. We also enjoyed the spiralling descent out of the building, and marvelled at how no accidents happened. I will absolutely have to come back to check out this rooftop sunset everyone is talking about. In summation, this parking lot has a lot to offer in the areas of aesthetics, connection, thrills, and also parking. Enjoy <3

Love this parkade. The walk through from fort class at 6pm so it's just a small diversion up to Blanshard or down to Douglas to walk to their front doors on view. Friendly staff. Security is wonderful. In the morning he always has a smile and a wave which starts the day off great. He's saved me from being run down by rushing drivers as they peel out through the inside crosswalk. Thank you for that. The rates are good and they're open late. The elevator is wonky, always has been. Sometimes one is working, rarely both, occasionally neither. They do post a sign that tells you on entering if elevator isn't working. I have bad knees,( too many years in nursing walking those hospital floors, ) and when elevators are out of service I have parked in the 3 hours slot on first level and not received a ticket for over time. If it was just a fluke then I'm lucky. But they have always been gracious and pleasant. Occasionally I will park up top hat so I cans we the sunset views and look over Victoria.

Leaving the parkade is great. There's a separate spiral ramp for people exiting, which makes things quick and easy. However, I don't park here because entering the parkade is a nightmare. It would be much easier if they had one lane outside parallel to the road dedicated to entering, like the Yates parkade. Instead, traffic is backed up to the intersection a few meters away, congested with people trying to enter and people just passing through who aren't sure why the lane is so backed up.

Daniel Menard

Good spot to park if downtown, but fills up fast during weekday.

Seems that the parking ends up being free there a decent amount.

Great parkade! Under the street parking system - can pay through the app

While Mr. Greenwell delivers a thoughtful and exceedingly helpful review of the View Street Parkade ("parking structure" to our non-Canadian viewers), and in stark contrast to the review written by Mr. Willson which has a signal to noise ratio of zero and is a few seconds of my life I will never get back, there are a few missing elements. Firstly though I would like to second the kudos for use of colour - this should be the MINIMUM for all parking structure signage, and I would like to see flower or animal icons so that I can have my children help remember where the car is parked using a fun game, a strategy often used by other organizations. The main positive point my esteemed Parking Connoisseurs missed completely is the breezeway through to Fort Street. This is often a huge time and step saver, and is consistent with the other pass-throughs mid-block. On the negative side, I can't help but completely disagree with Mr. Greenwell's poetic waxing around the "marvel" spiral exit. This is both incredibly disturbing to the roughly one-third of people that get motion sickness, and based on the scrapes on the wall beyond the skills of many drivers. A descent from the top floor is akin to a descent into hell, matched by spectrum all the way to red. In addition, if you have ever tried to "return to parking" after completing this horror (rather than exiting via the toll booths), you will also know that you must abandon all hope if you are in a vehicle larger than a Smart Car. I should also point out that this parkade is much farther away from the places that I generally like to go when I am downtown, which makes the Fisgard Street Parking structure vastly superior in almost every sense.

Best parkade in Victoria. Kids love coming down the spiral exit ramp

Jessi B (Jess)

The people who work here (in the box, not security) are so rude! The speed limit is 15km in the parkcade and i drive stick so when im going slow, I am going slow. I always drive 10km in the parkcade because they always yell at you to "slowdown!" Like you can't go much slower than that in a standard. I'm never speeding in there and they always yell at you like you do. And rudely. Except Cam. Hes always really nice and chill.

Situated in a convenient location in downtown Victoria. Always has available parking. Has wheel chair accessible entrance/exits and elevators on all parkade levels. No charge for parking on Sundays and very low rates on weekdays. This parkade is a SAFE place because it is regularly patrolled by Security. Have parked here on numerous occasions over the years.

Clinton Palmer

The pakade is great the impatient drivers and pedestrians who rush to beat you not so much. If you are honked at or feel rushed just take your time and it's perfect. Close to everything and easy walking to all stores.
