The Saanich Rentals team was awesome! I came in with a problem that they didn't typically deal with and the manager took it into his own hands to accomplish the task on the spot very efficiently and sent me off on my way a very happy customer. I highly recommend using these guys!

They have a wide selection of tools, but I had a very frustrating experience when I went here. I had borrowed a hedge trimmer multiple times to cut back a hedge made of blackberries, and had returned the equipment without any problems. On this occasion they refused to rent me the equipment and insisted that I take out a brush cutter, despite the fact that brush cutters are not safe for over-the-head use, such as mine. The staff were more condescending than helpful, and I seriously regret wasting my time going here.

I've had only great or very good experiences in several dealings with Saanich Rentals. Usually getting my lawnmower blade sharpened or renting a small piece of equipment like a fence post auger (big ol' drill with a 8" diameter bit). They're very informative, polite, and you usually get your stuff pretty quickly. (note that they can be a bit busy occasionally). I'm not related or connected to the company at all, just wanted to give them a great review and increase their rating a bit. Cheers from someone living near Gordon Head.

GUESS WHERE I'M GOING NEXT TIME? I rented a pressure washer last week from Saanich Rentals to do some work on a rental property. They gave me a choice of electric or gas-powered models and I chose electric. They warned me that the power draw might trip the breaker but I thought it would be OK. I was wrong; the washer tripped the breaker and since the house was locked, I couldn't reset it or choose a different higher capacity outlet. When I returned, they asked how it worked and I explained what happened. They gave me a credit for the cost of my first unsuccessful rental and applied it to the rental of the gas-powered model. Bad experience with inconsistent pricing AND a bad Customer Service Rep (CSR). My experience with Saanich Rentals (SR) began with a telephone quote of around 30 bucks for a common Briggs and Stratton carb kit. SR ordered the carb kit and a week or two later they called me to pick it up. I double checked the cost but the price had increased to over 40 bucks. I was annoyed with the "mistake" but gave them the benefit of the doubt. Upon arriving at SR I witnessed a verbal confrontation between another customer and the aforementioned "bad CSR". The beef had spilled out from the desk area into the parking lot just as I was approaching the door of SR and lasted a couple of minutes. The customer was heated. The CSR in question was dishevelled and was pleading for the customer to come back. The disgruntled customer left. When it was my turn the "bad CSR" found my part but seemed to be stalling during the billing procedure. In an attempt to speed-up the process I asked "how much is it?" The bad CSR looked up at the ceiling to his left and back at the computer screen and replied "with taxes it'll be $64.51" I blurted out "WHAT?!" and said, "For a carb kit?!?" The bad CSR took my shock in stride (as if this was a regular occurrence) and replied, "special order." By this time there were three customers behind me so I just ate the massive markup. I just ran across the bill today and it brought up all the bad feelings of the incident. I've decided I'm not just going to let these incidents of bad business practices slide anymore. If I let this slide I am simply enabling the company to shaft the next unsuspecting customer. I'm not saying don't go to SR. I'm saying beware of inconsistent pricing and get your quotes from this place in writing. I hope you have better luck than I did.

In Victoria, Saanich Rentals is the best value option for renting contractor-grade tools for the DIYer. I have rented power drills for drilling through a foundation, augers for digging fence post holes, concrete saws for building retaining walls, scaffolding for stucco repair, and more. Their pricing is slightly better than Home Depot rentals, but they are not open Sundays (like HD), so that is why not 5 stars. They maintain the equipment well, and give good advice when asked.

This is the best place in town for rentals and servicing of small and larger garden equipment. I went in looking for a pair of wheels to fix my old push mower. They didn't have the wheels but a fine young man hunted for a suitable alterative and it worked! Best part of it all was he did it for free. The part came off an old push mower that he said was going to be recycled. Thanks for the friendly service with a smile. You are a huge asset to our community.

I've always been impressed with Saanich Rentals, they have great knowledgeable staff. I called in advance to buy a Stihl gas axe, luckily they had one left in stock. By the time I came in to pick it up it they had filled it up, made sure it was working and gave me the run down on how to use it. If there is something I love its being efficient. They got me in and out quick so I could get back to work! Best place in town for sure. Thanks Garrett for the great service!

After browsing there old website with no prices or idea how much anything cost. I decided to call them to inquire on prices where I was left on hold for 9 and a half minutes without talking to anyone while listening to 1980s elevator music. Get with the times it took me less then a minute to find out how much things cost and to actually talk with someone with 3 other rental companies. This company is running like it's 2003 and it's 2020

Rented Rototillers for a good price. Bent the throttle handle by accident in transport back to shop. Didn't even charge me. Very pleasantly surprised. They were very accommodating when came to credit card deposit payment. Definitely will rent from them again and for sure recommend.

Great service! I took my lawnmower in to be tuned-up after taking it somewhere else, where they charged me a lot, and they didn't seem to have done anything. It ran worse than before the tune up. Saanich rentals did a great job, and it now runs great! I will get definitely use them again.

I took my lawnmower in 2 months ago for a minor repair and evertime I call to ask when it will be done, the representative says we'll call you when it's ready without giving me any kind of timeline .Bottom line is if you are too busy to service someone's equipment, just say so.

I’ve been going to Saanich Rentals for over 25 years and the service has always been excellent. The staff is very knowledgable and friendly. They always go the extra mile. When parts were no longer available for my old chainsaw, they figured out how to fix it. I recently bought a new chainsaw and the service is outstanding. My account was a complete mess. I didn't get statements and missed billing customers, people couldn't answer questions. I deal elsewhere now.

Every once in a while I just have to salute/promote/give a hurrah to a local business. Today it's Saanich Rentals! I take my lawn mower to them (usually in February to avoid the rush). This year, not only did they do a spectacular job as usual on maintenance but my old machine came back so clean I thought I got a different (newer) mower. Like, WOW, who does that nowadays? Saanich Rentals does, that's who! Always professional, always before the time estimated, always at a reasonable price - and now they clean my mower on the outside, too.

I honestly don’t know how a business can operate like this, being a business owner I would never even dream of operating that way. Unfortunately this wasn’t a one off.
