I almost NEVER write reviews but this company is worth mentioning. I have an old Toyota Land Cruiser. Part are hard to come by and these guys rebuild originals for a fraction of what it would be to buy new. The workmanship is top notch. My parts are cleaned and painted and I'm SUPER happy with the work I've had done over the years - I've had alternators, starters... you name it. This is the only name you need in Victoria. Fast, efficient, honest and fair.

I just finished getting an alternator re-built with these folks. They were my preferred choice after checking with a National Parts chain & the local Ford Service dealer. The staff at Brian Roberts were the only folks prepared to first determine if the alternator was actually broken, then provide a scope of work & cost estimate...they were also the cheaper option by at least 30% minimum from the other options. Amazing business and people to work with. My alternator in my BMW E90 failed completely, absolutely no power was being generated/delivered. Dropped it off, and within half a day had an estimate, few hours later repair was done. Failed parts + maintenance repairs were done to ensure peace of mind, which of course I am more than happy to eat the few dollars more for an essentially entirely new alternator for 1/4 the price. 2 year warranty is better than most new alternator warranties. Alternator was cleaned up and looked brand new. Local to Victoria, and highly recommend. Over one month in, alternator running better than ever. Will be returning in the future should I need my starter done.

I bought a used Dodge Caravan a few months ago, and it's had no end of electrical problems. The battery has drained down to zero twice, yet there wasn't anything actually wrong with the battery and the alternator was charging it. (Actually it drained three times, but the first time I thought there was something wrong with the battery and replaced it.) Brian Roberts Auto Electric was recommended to me, and I took the van there the second time the new battery went dead. They zeroed in on the problem in less than half an hour -- and half an hour's labour is all they charged me. They, and I, had suspected what they call a "parasitic drain" (caused by frayed wiring, probably). Turns out instead that if the back hatch door isn't closed firmly enough, the dome lights stay on -- and that drains the battery pretty quickly. I also got a mini-class in automobile electrics from Greg, one of their people, with *no* sense that he was patronizing me -- and that is not something that a woman can count on from an auto repair shop. Among other things, he told me that the reason the daytime headlights went out is that when battery power is low, the car goes into "limp home mode", where it gradually eliminates nonessential uses of power. Makes sense. I am very impressed with these people.

Due to the slow and subtle change of the alternator's performance, I wasn't aware until its demise of how important a fully functioning alternator was until you restored it to its full capacity. What a difference having full operating potentials instead of what I had been experiencing prior to the restoration. Certainly puts new life into my 34 year olde truck. We are the owners of a 2004 Chev. Venture and for the past nineteen months have experienced an incredibly irritating and frustrating intermittent starting problem with the starting circuit on this vehicle. The van had a mind of its own, at least 2 to 3 times a week would not start and always it seemed to act up when we needed to go somewhere in a hurry, but after lifting the hood, and cooling it down for 10 to 15 minutes it would start ??, we might go 3 days before the next episode but again it wouldn't start, then it would, this cycle repeated itself numerous times. This became unbearable for day to day life so after multiple trips to a very reputable local repair shop which tapped us for $1700 in needless repairs (ie: new battery, new starter motor, new alternator, new safety neutral switch... new new new and so on with guessing here and without solving the problem, we thought we would take it to a well known local GM dealer which proved to be even more painful than the latter which in my opinion did zero troubleshooting period... it seemed to us the easy way to solving this problem was to keep throwing money at the shop of the day and hope we would get some good news. Then we were very fortunate to be told about Brain Roberts Auto Electric Ltd and their troubleshooting skills in matters such as these. The shop had the van for a few days but unfortunately it wouldn't act up, but luckily for me the next day the van cacked out in my driveway and wouldn't start, within 1 hour of my call to the shop lead technician Jamie was at my house trying to solve this issue and I am pleased to say he did, through a series of tests and studying the schematics he determined the problem to be the main computer, At any time he could have said the computer has failed and called it there (which could have run me any wheres from 1K to 2 K depending on new or rebuilt) but the true pro he is, opted to bypass the main computer and wire it around it, essentially leaving the starting circuit as it should... starting the van... since the wiring bypass was completed we have yet to have a no start and after talking with Jamie we have great confidence in the repairs. I doubt we will have to deal with this issue again. I would also like to thank the owners of the shop for being true professionals in dealing with me, then driving me to an appointment saving me $$$ in cab fare. this was unexpected but very much appreciated indeed. In closing, we highly recommend Brian Roberts Auto Electric, they went above and beyond for us and we greatly appreciate all their help and will refer anyone to their business without hesitation.

From the time I took my alternator in till I got it back was half a day. This was a total rebuild with new stator, rotor, regulator and bearings. It was cheaper than buying new as well. The guys are all friendly and the advice is free. It`s much better to get stuff done locally than buying new because everything now comes from offshore and the quality is suspect to say the least. I was quoted $20 to replace a starter terminal from the man named Greg there. I went to pick up my starter and was charged $35 instead. When I went to talk to him about it he said that he had quoted me $40, not $20. I am very unsatisfied and will not be back. Be carful about their quotes and their final pricing. They have engaged in bad business practices and I expect they may try to take advantage of people who might not know any better. He directly lied to me and then told me he didn't, for that reason I have left a negative review.

I took my Bigfoot camper in this week as the tail lights on the rear were working intermittently.....has been doing this for a few years and I could not find the problem. They found the problem right away and they charged me a very nominal fee....I was very surprised. $ years previous I had an electrical problem with the same camper....no power. They found a cut off switch and the fuse to it had blown. I had no idea this even existed. How they found it is beyond me. This shop is the absolute best and very professional and prompt.
