The truck ran fine. The U-Haul employees are good. They do their best with the terrible renting system U-Haul has. I'm surprised people work for this company at all, they have to deal with so many annoyed customers because the stores are understaffed and the rental system they use is awful (hoping that the truck you reserved is somewhere in the same city? Come on, that is lazy, inefficient, and REALLY annoying for renters). People who rent a truck don't do it on a whim. They have a purpose and a time frame. U-Haul provides neither of those things. What's the point of me renting a truck from one location only to be told the day before that it's impossible and that my truck will be at a different location and not available until a way later time of day? Why even allow me to reserve? What's the point? Also, U-Haul should not outsource to other businesses. I had to go to a convenience store to pick up reservation they screwed up, and the lady there had absolutely no idea what she was doing. She was doing her best, but she barely spoke English at all and she was lost. She called some U-Haul help line and was on hold for 10 minutes before the line was dropped. This happened twice. I had to call the Welland location and hand my phone to her so they could figure it out. It took me over an hour and a half just to pick up the truck. The day after drop-off I was charged an additional $60 on my credit card for 140 "extra miles", which was incorrect. This was refunded. I had to call to fix that, luckily I had kept my contract and taken photos of the odometer reading. As for the rest I was not compensated in any way. Like I said, I had a timeframe and people waiting on me. I was furious. If I can help it, I will never book with U-Haul again.

Reservations mean little here.....called the morning of pickup to say the trailer was unavailable. That they didn't have one anywhere between Burlington and Niagara Falls. I had a good experience Guys, aslong as you can read instructions, understand your terms and conditions, you will not run into any issues. My only issue was having a hard time finding the key drop-off box in the evening but that was my own fault for not double checking before leaving the premise.

These RIP OFF ARTISTS are getting one star because I could not leave zero. While person after person just made up answers to questions, the biggest rip off is the fraudulent gas information they give you to TRICK you to put in MORE than you have to to hit some middle amount. Limited choices to rent elsewhere, but BEWARE that they are out to get you at every turn

Staff is extremely rude, Wanted to buy 12 boxes different sizes, I picked up two boxes so far and looking around for more stuff but the guy and a girl at the counter was rushing. Don’t know if they were properly trained about customer service. So I didn’t buy anything else and not coming back to buy or rent anything from here. Very poor service.

Sad hitch experience. Went in for the hitch install appointment at 8am. I just got out now, four bolts to I stall the hitch! I was told rental customers take priority over appointments!

Literally the worst service I have ever received. They have no idea what they are doing and the screw up your reservations. When asked what they will do to help us, the general manager basically told us to screw ourselves and figure it out on our own. No offer to call the call centre or the store our truck was actually at. The email we had, had the wrong truck size and address. I would give no stars but there's no options for that.

Rented an enclosed trailer from them some time ago and was very satisfied with the service. I'm surprised to see bad reviews, the stuff was quite efficient and the girl who hooked up the trailer to my truck was a powerhorse and very friendly. There was a mixup on the pickup time, but it was quickly corrected. Long wait times inside but short wait times on the phone. Overall a decent place to rent from.

Booked almost a month in advance for 26ft truck, and a day and a half before move in day they tell me there is not a single 20ft or 26ft anywhere near Hamilton, Grimsby etc. I now have to drive to St Catherines to get Uhaul truck, drive to Hamilton, then back to St. Catherine's as that is where I'm moving. Love that I have to drive an extra 30 minutes and pay more in gas. You suck Uhaul, last time I ever use you.

I moved to St Catharines from Calgary. I had to do a last minute reservation with UHaul after another truck rental company left me stranded. I was very hesitant after seeing reports about UHaul on Marketplace etc. They blew me away. The truck was almost new and performed very well. Service on both ends was impeccable. I highly recommend giving UHaul a try.

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. Booked our truck 2 months in advance. Day of pick up and weekend of our MOVE they call and inform us they don't have our truck or any other rentals and basically said good luck. So now it's the weekend of our move and we have no truck and it's impossible to find one now. Thanks for ruining our moving process Uhaul. I'll make sure to never ever reccomend uhaul to anyone I know.

I scheduled our booking online, since I was going to be at work the day of the move, I went into the location to ensure everything was ok and ready for pick up the following week, for my friend to arrive to be told the reservation was 2 hours later. I had the print out that showed the time of pick up. They eventually got us a larger truck for same price but it did put us behind. We returned truck with more gas than we left with, and inquired about the $50 credit if they mess up the reservation. The clerk we were dealing with was quite friendly and stated he will speak to supervisor but another agent in the back ground was rude and stated no. I emailed the company as not satisfied as guarantee comes up on all the pages as you are booking. Within minutes of emailing the company, they had credited us the $50. Not that the money was the issue, it was the way the other agent spoke to myself and my friend, no apology. I will definitely recommend this location as they do follow thru and honor their guarantee.

Exceptional Service Under Difficult Circumstances: I had booked a 26' Cube van through the standard U-Haul 1-800 number and upon arrival for pick up, the previous customer had not yet returned the vehicle that was reserved for me. The staff immediately responded and provided an acceptable substitute then went above and beyond to ensure I had a positive experience. Too bad I can't give 0 stars to these incompetent idiots! My husband went in to the store 5 days ago and ordered a hitch for our car so we could attach our bicycle rack to go on a biking vacation. A woman there ordered the part, gave my husband an estimate and booked an appointment for this morning to attach the hitch. This morning when he arrived at Welland Ave. in St. Catharines, they had no record of him being there, obviously had not ordered the part and told him that it would take 5 days to get the part in. TOO LATE!! This has changed the whole profile of our vacation! By the other negative reviews, we can see that this location has a major problem. Don't go here!

Went in to Uhaul this morning to reserve a 10 footer truck. Samantha, the employee, had helped me with the transaction. She was very helpful, knowledgable and provided excellent customer service. I was really happy dealing with her and it made the experience a great one.

I had them install a bike hitch and they told me they sold bike racks. I bought it in March 2021 and after 7 months, yes SEVEN months, and multiple calls never received the bike rack. I recently made my monthly call to see where the rack was and they finally put me to customer service. After explanation of what I have been experiencing they just sent my deposit back to me with no call from the manager at the St. Catharines Welland Road location. End result 7 months of ignorance and no bike rack!! Do not use their services for bike racks, you won't get one, only major BS and headaches.

This U-Haul location cost me two hours on my move day by having a DOA 26' truck, thanks to leaving the cargo light on overnight. I had booked the truck TWO MONTHS in advance and ended being scooped on the remaining 26' truck by an order that came in while I was sitting at the desk. Thankfully, the Niagara Falls U-Haul had the truck I needed. This cost me time, distance, and frustration. I will never use U-Haul again.

Was booked to have a trailer hitch and the wiring for trailer brakes done at this establishment. Upon arrival we were informed that not only was our appointment booked incorrectly for 4 days later, but also that they were incapable of doing the work we had booked. Avoid U-Haul at all costs and get actual professionals to do your work.

The vehicles they rent out are filthy and disgusting. Food crums on the seats and all over floor of vehicle. It is obvious they do not do any sort of cleaning whatsoever on these rental vehicles when returned to their facility. Will never use this U-Haul again.

I rented a truck and was told my insurance was not sufficient, which it is for other rental companies for some reason. I was told if I got into an accident they would charge my credit card even if it was not my fault. I called customer service and was told my insurance should have been ok, but no resolution......

They dont deserves any stars.. for 1 they have a major RAT infestation. 2 was promised safe and secure unit.. well safe and secure means no rodents... 3 the unit itself is falling apart as are other starage units located outside. The idiot's there refused to help at all with the problems that have arised. Most of my families belongs are trash.. my daughters clothes are half gone.. my daughters have no toys and anything as 70% of the unit of was destroyed by rats... HEADS UP ON RENTING ANYTHING FROM UHAUL ON WELLAND AVE ST.CATHARINES. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND LAZINESS YOU WILL FIND THERE.

Never had such terrible customer service. You should change you sign from best service to sub par service. I was waiting to have my propane tanks filled. One woman said she couldn't do it because she wasn't certified. I waited over 30 mins and no one came to help I even went in and they said someone would be with us shortly.. 15 minutes later. so we drove off and had excellent service elsewhere. Really sad and pathetic. You definitely do NOT have the BEST service.

Customer service is terrible. They don't know what they are doing, and promise things they can't do. Don't get your trailer hitch done here.
