You will see the opinions of real people like you who consumed the services of U-Haul Moving & Storage of Charlottetown (Rent Cars) in Prince Edward Island (Canada).
Right now the firm gets a rating of 3.1 stars over 5 and that score has been based on 48 reviews.
As you can read, it has an average rating is discreet, and it's based on a very high number of feddbacks, so we can think that the valuation is very reliable. If people have bothered to leave their feddback when they've done well with the business, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to set opinions when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Rent Cars is included in the category of Self-storage facility.
Rented a 10' truck for moving from one house to another. Great service, friendly staff. The truck return was a bit concealed and may catch some people off. Other than that it was great!
I have used this place several times. The customer service sometimes is an issue but the rental experience is good. Vehicles have always been well maintained.
READ REVIEWS BEFORE YOU GO TO THIS PLACE !!!!!!! READ REVIEWS BEFORE YOU GO TO THIS PLACE !!!!!!! READ REVIEWS BEFORE YOU GO TO THIS PLACE !!!!!!! So as not to ruin a beautiful day in your life! The rudest customer service staff I have ever met in Canada! ! ! A female employee treats me like a concentration camp discipline treats prisoners! She tried to manage covid 19 control in store people. Of course I understand that, but due to her incompetence and disorderly management, she yelled at me extremely rudely. When there were 4 adults + 1 child in the store, she called me out. When I went out, 2 people went in one after another, and the number of people in the store became 7, which made me very confused. When I went in again, they shouted at me very roughly. I have never seen anyone do that to others in Canada! God Extremely bad!!! I have used the service for 7 years at this location, and the previous staff were very good. I don't know what happened to U-Haul's management. I tried to call customer service to complain. The funny thing is that neither their call recording nor their website have the option of customer complaints. I am fortunate that I did not buy the stock of this company. If I did, I would sell it all. When I wrote this review, I discovered in the review that many people have experienced the same experience before.
Tyler provided excellent customer Service. Highly recommend
Excellent service and good prices for renting small and large trucks
Fair price, good customer support MOREOVER, super easy cancellation without extra charges..isn't that just awesome!!
There's no option for 0 stars, but they would get it. I vocalized a complaint about the trailer leaking and they referred me to the website. Basically the trailer leaked the whole way across Canada (puddles inside). The boxes disintegrated from the moisture causing a bunch of kitchen ware to break. Anything on top of the boxes became moldy. Even things in plastic bags/boxes got moldy from the condensation. I went through the complaint process, which they denied because they are 'not at fault'. Somehow it's my fault that their trailer isn't water proof or water resistant. U-Haul hasn't been helpful through the process and their equipment was not well maintained, causing a lot of our cargo to be ruined. I am currently appealing the situation (because my file was denied), but have 0 faith in U-Haul. Don't rent from them. I'd recommend buying your own equipment if you can or going with another company. It would have cost me less to buy my own trailer than to rent theirs and have half of my stuff ruined.
Pathetic customer service. I booked an appointment for hitch installation on 29th July for 14th August. When I reached they said they have cancelled my appointment without giving me any alert, text or call. Then Forced me to buy the parts and to get installed from outside. In that short notice no one was available and some of them of asking too much price. Then I left feedback to UHaul and store manager Katrina called me for showing the frustration and making myself guilty.
If you want to rent a U-Haul truck and feel bad for coming in the door go and rent a U-Haul truck from the Charlottetown location! I’m happy faces and extremely rude! Never felt so bad for walking into a place in wanting service! Wouldn’t recommend it and would look for another location if possible
Large selection of haul and trucks. After gas fill up and km utilization the truck wasn't as inexpensive as advertised.
It was an awful experience when they charged me more than it was agreed. + rude customer service. My opinion - stay away from Charlottetown UHaul. And the Discount (another rent a truck company) is cheaper ;)
SO I called UHAUL for a last minute emergency request. They couldn't fulfill it as they were booked BUT the person was so kind to direct us to someone else who could. They were very kind and empathetic. Rating 5 stars because other moving companies weren't the most pleasant to talk to.
Staff were wonderful. And the location was fine. It’s U-Haul as a company I have issues with. When I booked, I was quoted half of what I actually ended up paying. There are so many ridiculous hidden fees. I didn’t ask for a trolley but it was in the cargo area and was in the way. I couldn’t take the trolley out because it charges you if you move it. You have to pay $25 if you don’t sweep? What is that about?? The after-hours drop off experience was terrible. The website was working poorly and honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if U-Haul made it bad to navigate so you give up and pay the $20 service fee.
This location caries a full line of trailer hitches and provides instalation.
I've been storing stuff here for quite some time and have never had problem getting access to my unit. I switched from a smaller to a larger unit and had no issues with it at all. I can't really comment on their truck rental service since I've never used it. Their packing store is quite convenient and we'll stocked, but I've found that if there's more than a couple of customers needing help, you can end up waiting quite a while.
I have made a few trips to Uhaul Charlottetown these past couple of weeks as I packed up our home. On one occasion I had my two small children with me to pick up additional moving supplies. The two young gentlemen working the front desk were not only professional but also very kindly helped me bring all of my items out to my car; as my hands were already full. All of my visits I have received excellent customer service.
Quick service, has everything you may need for a move and storage.
Excellent service, Brandi was patient and friendly with a very professional. I am very satisfied with my service with Uhaul Moving and storage in Charlottetown PEI and would recommend them 100%
Every time I have been to this location the wait for service has been significant. The parking lot it very tight and can be difficult to navigate larger vehicles/trucks around.
Easy for rent
Very good
Rented a van from them a few years back, was hassle free. Recently bought some shipping supplies from them, staff was very friendly and helpful.
'Katrina Williams' who works here, was the most shocking customer service experience of my life. This HORRIFIC experience literally contributed to my view of people who live on PEI & my decision to do a massive u-turn & leave the island. I have never been shouted at in the manner this woman who "shouted" at me, by anyone else in my life, let alone someone in a customer service position!! I called the Charlottetown store number from many miles away & was taken to a customer service rep in a mystery location. I asked if the Charlottetown store signs for delivery of boxes I may send via UPS. They didn't know, so I looked online myself & told them that it does indeed sign for packages to be put into storage there. I thought, okay great. I am moving to PEI from the other side of Canada, this is just the thing I was looking for. I discussed the size of storage unit I needed there & handed over my credit card details & awaited the confirmation email with all my details. Done. I sent my boxes off, via UPS, & after a few exhausting days on the road driving right across Canada I got a voice mail message from the Charlottetown Uhaul store. No name was left, just a very stern & angry sounding message with words to the effect of: "This is a call regarding your delivery. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU CALL US BACK!". I was so worried, what on earth had happened to receive such an alarming message!? Had they broken open? Was a box missing!?! Oh no?! I called back a few times & after playing 'phone tag' finally I got to speak to the person who left this message. "I've got some boxes here in my office with your name on them". I was in stunned silence. I asked is there anything wrong with them?! "No". I took a deep breath filled with dread of her telling me that I should not have sent them there?! Maybe they don't receive boxes after all!? What else could be so seriously wrong?! If they do 'receive' why on earth would I be getting a call at all?! I gave them my credit card details, 'every last detail', already. So, I took a deep breath & said: "I was told when I booked this, that you guys receive boxes & sign for them." The reply "WE DO! BUT I'VE GOT TO GET THESE SIGNED IN AND THE PAPER WORK DONE FOR THEM!!!!" Why in the hell she was 'shouting' at 'me' about this is STILL a mind-blowing mystery. I am the 'customer'! Hello!? Uhaul has my details already. How on earth could she not copy them from the confirmation email that I myself received!? What was this harassment?! I gave you my money & my details just give me the service I paid for without traumatizing me with worry, just for choosing your business - like any other sane customer service arrangement across the living globe since the inception of customer relations! Even Cavemen would have done business better than this!! From the tone, complete lack of respect for me as a person, a human being, let alone a paying customer, I pictured a lady in advancing years, who had stayed at home all her life, without a day of customer service experience, left alone there - the first day on the job, not knowing how to speak to people, nor how to do the job. I mean, who on this planet speaks to anyone like that?! Let alone a paying customer?! I was starting to think that maybe I should feel sorry for her. Why, unless she is the most inexperienced person in the history of customer service jobs would she be talking to me like that, and claiming to represent a company like Uhaul? Why this bizarre behaviour? Was she taking out her frustration of her own staggering ineptitude at completing forms, on the paying public?! Who on earth does that, unless they have absolutely no idea how things work in normal human social life, let alone retail businesses?! I thought I had better show her some compassion - the poor thing - left alone to shift my heavy boxes, and with absolutely zero experience in dealing with the public. Upon arrival I saw her picture over the counter with the words "How can we help you?" !! How can you help me? You can start by "HELPING" me!! ie. not shouting at me or terrifying me!
I don’t know where to start. I have never felt so bullied by a company ever! I have used haul at least 3 times in the last 2 years without a hitch. Today was unbelievable! I should be asking for a full refund but life is too short to deal with people like that. Guaranteed I will never be back. So upset that I have a uhaul hitch without a company to rent trailers from.
Booked a hitch installation online, received a call saying the date wasn't available, though it was available online. They kept offering an install date that I told them didn't work for me twice previously during the call and that I should've booked the appointment weeks ago.
Rude customer service
A bit of everything here to help you with all your moving and storage needs. Lots of we'll maintained trucks. Helpful staff.
The customer service seemed to be nice but there were quite a few screw ups on their part. They messed up our booking so instead of getting 2 vans we got one 10 foot truck for 2 people in separate directions to move. They said it would save money in the long run which it did not, cost us quite a bit and doubled our moving time. They then made a second charge to my card without warning or explanation. Safe to say that if you can go any other way, save your time and money and figure out how to keep u haul from screwing you too.
Katrina is the Bee's Knees A+++
No problems at all. They explained everything in a timely manner and even helped me out with one month of free storage when i was in between places. Would recommend.
Customer service is honestly the worst thing I've experienced so far.
General Manager is the rudest person I have ever dealt with
I read a bunch of these reviews and I have to call BS on the bad ones. I am always here for bbq propane and I had a storage room for years and have never had an issue with anyone here ever. Service is 100%! I have noticed a few things waiting in line and listening to customer interactions and the workers end of the phone calls... Storage first time visit is slow and long but after that first initial time is painless. I guess you have to sign stuff and give information when you trust your belongings and possessions to them, and there's policies and procedures. makes sense i guess! I didn't get boxes delivered but i would guess there's legalities that they have to follow too! I noticed that if you show up for your truck booking on time or close with a license and a credit card or money you will have a good experience. Those that show up without calling or booking and get upset with them if the trucks are booked may not enjoy the service! If you go in there in a pickle ('emergency' truck rental with no notice) ASKING for moving OPTIONS you will be treated well! If you go in there and DEMAND a particular size truck for a certain amount of time 'right now' and have attitude then you will likely receive attitude, and I think that's fair. When I observe these people I always wonder how they didn't know they were moving before that day? Even evictions get like, 3 weeks notice or something close. They get people who book a few hours in a truck and try to turn it into a few days at the very last second, and the workers have to explain that other people booked time too. They get people who don't book and walk in and get upset to hear that bookings take priority. They get people parking on top of their no parking sign blocking their front door. They get people who don't bring money or don't bring a license. I have seen so much over the years, and you know its only a taste of what the uhaul people see everyday! Best advice is to not be stupid! Make a reservation. Show up on time or call. Don't show up at 5 min before they leave. Bring your credit card and your drivers licence, hell just bring your wallet! Don't send someone to get your truck for you unless you give them money to pay for it! Know where you are moving to! Don't expect it to be slow enough to leave your car there all day or night; what if the parking is used up? And if you try to move (or get propane) at the end or first of the month when renters do they will be extra busy (propane would be a wait sometimes) and the rental "slots" might be shorter. If its for college time you need to book ahead and be flexible; how many students are enrolled in UPEI and HC all together? What if 1/2 of them needed to move some stuff? What if half of those needed to rent something to do it? If its winter they are slower but you still have to book so they schedule thier workers and their slow removal properly. If you have a storage room like i did you can't show up to it after a big storm until they plow and shovel. I never did but I would expect them to shout at me if I'm inconsiderate like that. I have always thought the service here was exceptional, even when they get busy! Their staff are very helpful and knowledgeable and are real, down to earth people! Number one for propane and storage and will use them if i have to move again for a truck or boxes!
We were told to call and book in advance even though we had called prior and no one answered the phones. The women at the front counter was very rude and impatient. Regardless of the costumer service, the trailer was great
