I was not a fan of the customer service offered to me by their receptionist. She was curt, uninterested, and honestly made me feel like I was bothering her for having an issue that needed to be resolved. Literally what saved this review was the OWNER, who took me at face value and gave me a chance to honor a deal made between us two in the face of a very bad situation so that I could manage to move all my belongings that day. He was kind, patient, and made me feel like he was listening a lot more than their front of staff did. He also explained and expressed himself well, instead of being dismissive of my dilemma. I have to go back eventually, because this is THE ONLY ESTABLISHMENT RENTING A MOVING VEHICLE ON THE COAST, and though I'll be better prepared and not relying on the same saving grace to get me through, I hope I deal with him again and not anyone else.

Our rental from Prime was a great experience. We rented a one-ton, 16' box truck. Extremely responsive service over the phone and in person thanks to Dallas. Truck was prepped and ready to go when we needed it. Reliably got to Vancouver and back with no problems. Of note, we ran into a really challenging situation that was of our own doing, and Gary (the owner) came to remedy the situation, on a Saturday no less. Great to have such a company in Sechelt.

Only rental car co. around, great staff, nice car, needed in a hurry and they accommodated me. Even have a ferry drop off for a fee. Good thing as the taxis are in short supply. Would recommend.

After a Sunday morning BC Ferry car breakdown in Langdale, I found the one and only open car rental place in Sechelt and prepared to get fleeced. I was very pleasantly surprised by the level of service and helpfulness of the couple running this company. I was picked up from my dead car (Canadian Tire in Wilson Creek), and given a nice shiny Chrysler. They helped advise me on how to keep insurance costs low. And when my brother-in-law was able to return the car a few days early, I was again happy to see I was only charged for days used (though I had told them I was going to rent it for longer). Conclusion? Have no fear renting from these folks, they run a good business.

Horrible experience with Prime Rentals. Bought their "walk-away"insurance (the lady confirmed), which was pricey and returned the car in what we thought was absolutely perfect condition, they even did a check themselves with a walk-around and confirmed it was ok, other than it being dusty and dirty. We had no incidents whatsoever (otherwise I most definitely wouldn't be writing this bad review), yet we were called and told the car had a large scratch on it and we now owed $300. What's more, we were told it was no big deal, as though it was nothing despite it doubling the amount we owed. After debate, they said we had to pay the full amount, so not too sure what is covered by the insurance, then after reluctantly having no choice but to accept the charge, I requested they contact us before a charge was taken, so we could swap the credit card to a Canadian card instead of an English credit card to avoid a charge. This did not happen and they just charged my UK credit card anyway. Never had such a poor experience with renting, we travel a lot, so rent regularly. Learnt our lesson though, will only ever use large and established rental companies going forward.

I would NEVER go back to Prime Rentals again. I rented a Dodge Caravan for 6 days. The back windows didn't even open and it was during a heat wave. They charged A LOT for this vehicle. I returned it in perfect condition and then they went and charged my credit card without informing me, for a $125 cleaning fee. I didn't notice the charge until i got my mastercard statement. They said there was dog hair in the car and i don't even have a dog! I will never go back to Prime Rentals and will definitely not be recommending this to the many family and friends that i have on the sunshine coast. I can't give a zero star rating on here so i am giving it 1 star, but it should be a zero star rating.

Very friendly service! Had a car booked for one day but decided to pick up a day early and had no issues with changing our booking. They even dropped us back to Sechelt after returning the car as the office is a 15/20 minute walk to the town. Would definitely recommend and will use again if returning to the island.

Super nice people. We came to Vancouver not expecting to go to Sechelt, so we didn't realize a car rental would be necessary. Their rates were reasonable and we had a new Corolla for less than bike rental would have cost. They offer car drop off at the ferry docks for $40, and they will pick you up/drop you off from your location in Sechelt. Only after-hours number is their office number--which is 7 days a week, but not 24 hours.

Rented a vehicle and it was not "new" vehicle. One I had was 10 years old (said on the insurance) and paid top dollar to rent a old car. What a rip off.

First car they gave me had a terrible rattle coming from it. So drove all the way back from Gibson's to change vehicles. Next car I drove for half a day and returned it in the after noon. Some how a Toyota Yaris burned $10 of fuel (15L) in 55 KM of driving. How is that possible? That is mileage equivalent to a pickup truck when you do the math. They didn't even consider to cut me any break on my rate when I had drive the vehicle back with gas I paid for to change vehicles. Very unimpressed.

Friendly, family run business. However, disappointed with being charged $12 for fuel, when I returned the Truck back full. I drove 35km's, never drove over 50km/h and they indicated they put in 8litres of fuel after I returned it. That's an incredible 22.86Litres/100km fuel consumption, not including the fuel I put in. Either the fuel gauge is broken, or it wasn't truly full when I received it. Indicated how disappointed I was and they have since gone silent. It's only $12 but if they do that to ever person, that's a lot of extra money being brought it.
