Overall a good place to use. Pick up was simple and easy for me (my gf was a little worried about putting a kayak on the roof), foam blocks worked great and I strapped it down with my own strap rather than those provided. Had someone there to help me load it and everything. Return was also rather simple, but alas no one was available to help me unload it, but I managed. Cleaning station is helpful for returns and all that. Just maybe check that your trailer hitch doesn't hit in the driveway if you have one, as the entrance is steep. Lots of room to turn around tho. Just wish there was more in depth info about where all to go for kayaking or SUP. They provided a place or two but would have liked to know more options and a more in depth information on a few things like roads types or best spots to launch from, or possible hazards on certain bodies of water. A little attachment booklet to the bookings with detailed info would be great ! All in all tho was happy with the service, equipment, and pick up/drop off. I'd use them again when I come back this way.

They were very organized and as promised would always respond to me emails. The trip around Powell Lake Canoe / Portaging route was made very easy and in pairing with Sasquatch rentals was an excellent trip. They provided everything promised and we're really great about providing us with the necessary details to have a great trip. I would without a doubt tell people to rent from them if they were to ever go and do this trip. The canoes that were rented to us we're really great and we had no issues. Easy 5 stars.

Rented a standup paddle board for six days to supplement water equipment used by family and friends while staying on the ocean near Palm Beach Regional Park. Excellent quality equipment and an easy experience to pick up and return the board. Mitchell's provided foam blocks and tiedowns so it was simple to carry the board on the car top even without a rack.

Christie Mitchell made our canoe trip on the Powell Forest Canoe route pleasant and easy. The gear was top notch and dealing with Mitchell's was easy and convenient. Christie gave great advice on how to tackle the route and her website was also extremely helpful in planning the trip. Transportation to and from Mitchell's by Sasquatch Trails was also outstanding.

Rented a kevlar canoe for the Powell Forest canoe route back in September 2021. Canoe was in good shape and all the gear was clean and ready at the designated pickup time. The website has good information on the canoe route, as well as how to setup your vehicle etc. We did rent the car topper for the canoe and it only came with two ropes to tie the canoe down. Luckily we brought some ratchet straps as well to make it easier. I'd recommend bringing some of your own ropes or straps when renting. Other than that definitely recommended if you're looking to rent a canoe!

Another great experience with Mitchell's! We arrived to find all our gear neatly organized and we promptly strapped a couple of large kayaks to my small car. After checking things 20 times we were off to Okeover to launch our 4 night/5 day Desolation Sound trip. The trip was fantastic and we didn't have any gear issues whatsoever. The only thing I'd say about the trip is that some of the sites can get really busy. Have an alternate plan of a place to stay because it's possible to get shut out on a busy night. On our return we followed all the instructions to clean our kayaks and headed home exhausted after 5 days paddling. Would rent again and again from Mitchell's!

The canoe was in great shape and she was very helpful in helping me get it on the pickup truck. We had a lot of fun and would definitely not hesitate to rent from Mitchell's canoe again. Service was fantastic, and the Kayak itself was in great condition and an excellent vessel to ride. My friend and I took a two-person Kayak on Powell Lake in May of 2020. A trip of that lasted 8+ hours in which we Kayaked past Goat Island and back to Mowat Bay. I do wish they would supply straps rather than rope to tie the car. As someone who is inexperienced with knots, it was a difficult to re-tie the Kayak to the car once we were done using it. I would still highly recommend Mitchel's to anyone!!!

Great experience. The owner really knows the area and was super informative. Pick ups and drop off can be tricky on one way canoe trips, but she told us what to expect and we made our 10am rendez-vous. We went in early June and basically had the area to ourselves. The lakes were already warm enough to swim in. Osprey, salmon berries, flying squirrels! Thanks for a wonderful experience Mitchell's.

First of all we had a wonderful canoe trip in mid September. The weather on our first day was quite bad but together with Christie we decided that it was best to start the next day and come back a day later at no extra cost. Also our rented equipment and our canoe were in great condition. Therefore pricing is very fair and reasonable. Christie is very caring and accommodating. We saw a black bear close to Beaver Lake which was awesome! Thank you!

We absolutely loved our canoe daytrip with a canoe from Mitchell's in March this year! First of all no other company wanted to rent anything out to us, since it was "not the season for boat trips". But my friends and I were so excited and finally we found this great little business. Mrs Mitchell was super friendly and even gave us the canoe on last minute call the day before. Everything was really easy going. We got the boat and all the equipment and loaded it on the roof racks of my car. She gave us amazing route suggestions and we had a wonderful day on a big nearby lake. No stress at all, she told us we could be back at any time in the evening and just leave everything clean and in place. Awesome and flexible service with good pricing. Thank you so much! We had a ton of fun. :]

We were very pleased with the quality of the canoe and equipment, service, and ease of access and drop off. Mitchell’s website contains all you need to do online rental (with details as to what your rental options are) and are obviously very familiar with the route. We rented during the COVID pandemic which obviously presented challenges for everyone. They made the process safe and clear. We will rent from them again.

Couldn't be happier with the service and help from Christie. We did the counterclockwise version of the trip and tied it in with the SCT hike. We hiked from Sarah Point to Powell River where Christie met us with a canoe and a food drop. From there, we canoed to Lois Dam where Christie picked up the canoe, delivered another food cache and we completed the SCT hike to Saltery Bay. A great break from the hike and the portage up from Goat Lake isn't too bad if you give yourself lots of time. There are lots of canoe rests and the uphill wasn't too bad with frequent breaks and an ultra-light canoe.

I first thought a Canoe Circuit adventure for a single dad with 10 year old twins might be too much so I contacted Christie to inquire. From the first email I have to say it was some of the best service I've received. Christie explained everything to me in a series of 5 or 6 emails including maps, trip essentials, options etc. It was exceptional. So, we decided to start at Lois Lake at 6 PM and head up to Windsor Lake and then back over 5 nights. It turned out to be relatively easy...save for the 2.4 km portage that was difficult. We were easily within striking distance of our final destination (back to Lois Lake drop off) by 1 PM on the 4th night. We then spent the 5th night and day just hanging out on an island by ourselves. It was truly an exceptional experience getting away from everything and enjoying family time. I'd recommend it to anyone with active kids...or ones you want to get active. It was a blast and Christie is phenomenal.

AMAZING!!!!! I took a paddleboard and my boyfriend took a kayak. We had never been on these type of things before... after a week on sunshine coast we thought we had seen it all. We only took it out o n okeover arms not very far and spent the best day of our whole trip. It took no time to get used to it and the experience was Incredible!!!! The pick up and drop off was super easy. We had such a good time I cant recommend this enough.!!!!!
