They deserve zero stars. The service and car look good until you get your bill and see you've been charged 'MISTAKENLY' for the most stupid things. Just to give an example we've been charged a late day fee and when I checked the bill it said we returned the car on April 2nd, while we left Yukon on April 1st. Maybe I flew back in next day to return the car???

Despite all the bad reviews on here I needed a car and went with Budget. I was very pleased. Lady at Payless helped me out very fast and Got an awesome Clean Subaru for a week and got my $200 security deposit back as soon as I returned the rental. No problems Used Priceline reservation for discount

Only reason I rented a car at budget is because I was a little late and they had no cars left at enterprise other than a pickup. Both charge the same cost for the same car, but with enterprise, you get unlimited km whereas budget charges $0.12 per km after 350km. Of course, they don't tell you that when you call. You learn about it when you get there, at which point I was too much in a hurry to find another car. Given that I had to go to Quebec city, I think renting the pickup at enterprise would have ended up being cheaper. I have no idea how they stay opened with those rates, but never going there again.

Our rental vehicle was very dirty on the outside and was not that much better on the inside. The car had scrapes on pretty much of the entire front fender and had a chip in the driver's side of the windshield prior to renting. A note in the car said that it had been cleaned/sanitized, but it did not smell clean to us at all.

Terrible customer service. The front desk agent wasn’t helpful. We called the customer representative on a Sunday and he was rude, sarcastic and unhelpful. At the end of our rental they charged us for extra km for we were not advised at the time we picked up the car.

My rental was a Mitsubishi Eclipse cross. What a fantastic vehicle, and brand new to boot! The desk attendant was very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend budget to a friend or colleague.

Had a really bad experience with Budget rental. When I arrived at the location in the morning I was told they didn't have a car and wouldn't be able to arrange for one inspite of me having reserved a car for the day a week ago. It's really tough to change all plans made for the day when you get such a response that too after waiting at the location for an hour. If you need a car for an urgent/ important purpose, do not come here.

Great service, especially during the lockdown. However their billing department has decided to take it upon themselves to charge what they want on my credit card, and I've had to phone them numerous times to get it corrected. If I hadn't caught it, I would have been out almost $200. Watch these guys.

The customer service is hit or miss. I had a woman who was super accommodating and kind when they didn't have what I wanted. Then there was a man who argued with me because he insisted that I had scratched the car even though the report clearly indicated that I had not. Pro: convenient location. Con: poor customer service and inconsistent selection to vehicles. I'd bring my business elsewhere.

I had rented my car from the Victoria BC airport and the staff there was awesome and friendly. When I was finished with the car, I was able to drop it off at this location as I had a friend who was giving me a ride to the BC Ferry. I like the convenience they offer.

(Translated) I rented via the internet (June 24, 2019) on their site, a Dodge Grand Caravan of 7 places and paid by credit. On July 26, the date of taking possession, the Dodge Grand Caravan is not available and there is none left in Quebec .... So it gives me a Journey with half less storage, so I call Budget and customer service Yvan tells me it's either a cancellation or two vehicles instead. Unable to hear us, he decides to hang up and get me the branch the next morning to see if the Grand Caravan is available .... When I know that during the leave of construction, everything is already rented or unavailable. In short no real effort to resolve the dispute. Budget is banned from my list of auto rental company, Van, cube. (Original) J'ai loué via internet(24 juin 2019) sur leur site, une Dodge Grand Caravan de 7 places et payé par crédit. Le 26 juillet , la date de prise de possession , la Dodge Grand Caravan n'est pas disponible et il n'en reste aucune au Québec.... Donc il me donne un Journey avec la moitié moins de rangement, donc j'appelle Budget et Yvan du service à la clientèle me répond que c'est soit une annulation ou deux véhicules à la place. Ne pouvant nous entendre , il décide de raccrocher et de me faire rappeler la succursale le lendemain matin pour voir si la Grand Caravan est disponible.... Quand je sais que durant le congé de la construction , tout est déjà loué ou indisponible... Bref aucun réel effort de résoudre le litige. Budget est banni de ma liste de compagnie de location auto,Van,cube.

First time with budget oct 14-16 2015 I usually use enterprise. The service wasn't great or polite ...I didn't get navigation like I was supposed to ...for a Chevy Cruze the Bluetooth wasn't even enabled option and I got a dirty car -wasn't super dirty but had someone's garbage under the seat and dog food crumbs in the trunk .....during rainstorm could smell wet dog smell...my drop off was at the airport ....drop off box had no pen and neither did we and couple other people also rented....a budget employee was dropping a car off ...when we asked a question they swore at us and just kept walking away. Last and only time I would use budget !

Staff very friendly. No issues renting and returning the car. Cars are neat and tidy- perfect for a weekend escape down or up the island if you're a tourist. many cars to pick, you can book online or just walk in. Will come back if I'm around next time.

I called to reserve a vehicle to rent, I was unable to rent due to age which is no issue. I understand its hard to find a rental car under the age of 21. However too bad I didn't catch the name of the man I was speaking with. he was quite ignorant and rude explained to me very aggressively that no one in the city will rent a vehicle to me. take your business to enterprise down the road where they value you money and treat you with respect. Even though I cant rent from there either the lady I spoke with was very kind and polite. Its worth the couple dollars more for top notch service at enterprise!

WINTER TIRE FEE CHARGED FOR FOUR-SEASON TIRES: They charged me $75 + tax and fee =$81.84 of Tire Mgmt Fee for winter tires on top of pre-paid fee for a five-day rental. The agent at the counter when I picked up the car said she could do nothing about it. Then the next day under bright daylight, I found the car only has four-season tires. I took pictures and send them to them after I returned the car (no agent at booth). However, they still charged me the fee, and no closed rental agreement, which was promised on the key box, was sent to me after 20 days. There are two other car rental booths at the airport. Avoid Budget.

If I could rate them lower I would. When renting from them in October they first gave us a vehicle with expired plates and as it was below the full tank line when we returned to the London Airport location to report this, they told us we either needed to drive it to get gas or pay their fee to fill the gas tank. This was after waiting for someone to come to the desk (the sign said they would be there at 5 but by 5:15pm we were still waiting.) No apology or anything. I don't know what the other locations are like but I would definitely not recommend renting from this location.

We loved the price (much cheaper than renting from the airport), yet we did have a few disappointments. 1) We were quite shocked that such a modern model did not come with cruise control. 2) Once we were out of province, we began having trouble with the wipers. We phoned and left a message, but never got a call back. Luckily the problem resolved itself. 3) We arranged to bring the car back the morning of Dec 31. Nothing was said about them being closed or opening late nor was there a sign on the door telling us their plans for the day. We simply had to leave the key and trust that they will see no damage on the vehicle and a full tank of gas. We will try a location closer to the airport next time.

Horrible experience. Nearly 2 hours waiting to be checking into a car for which I prepaid. Clerk at desk undertrained and seemed unable to type. Other employee unhelpful, as was the "manager" the clerk contacted by phone. The price did not offset the frustration and lost time I experienced.

Absolutely amazing. Easy to get and pick up our car. Drop of was super easy. Our flight was cancelled and they had not checked in our car yet so the lady came and found us to let us know we could still have it until the next day. Upon next day drop off the wonderful lady Kelsey I believe her name is, was super kind, friendly and accommodating for all the struggles we had had with our flight being cancelled. Worst car company ever! The service was nonexistent and they didn't have a vehicle as promised. I would recommend never using this company....hitchhiking is preferable ....(and I don't think anyone should ever hitchhike)...

I always thought that U-Haul was the only option and luckily, I was wrong! These guys have a great range of vehicles, cars and trucks to choose from. I was able to make a same day reservation for a moving truck during a busy time and when U-Haul had nothing available. Thank you guys for providing me with what I needed when I needed it! I will definitely use Budget in the future. Their prices are very reasonable as well.

!!WARNING DO NOT GO HERE!!AWFUL SERVICE!!! Unbelievable! Was promised and confirm a rental rate only to be refused the rate once I went to pick up the car at this location. Understand things happen and mistake could have been made, but the older man at the desk completely rude and completely dismissive, absolutely no customer service skills at all. Rented with this company many times before , will no longer beuse this rental company as this location was completely disgusting in there service.

We did not see the employees wearing any masks. Neither they had any glass panels installed on their desk which could keep us away from their coughs/sneezes. Extremely disappointed as to how lenient the employees were behaving especially in the time of this pandemic. Expected much more sanitized and safe environment. Please visit this facility during this pandemic at your own risk

Has to be WORST experience I’ve had with a rental company. I paid for and reserved a Full Size car, they gave me an Elantra and refused to accept that their own website lists Elantra as an intermediate car. I was dropping off at a different location and the guy admitted that they like to keep nice cars for same city rentals so the car stays with their location. You are definitely better off booking with Enterprise/National, AVOID budget/Avis at all costs.

I should have listened to the bad reviews, but i decided to risk this place. Don't make my mistake. They allow bookings until 5:30, but close exactly at 5:30! How does that logically make sense?!? After taking the bus all the way there, and banging on the windows, the lady essentially told me that there was nothing to do because her computers were off! Seriously? Just turn them on. Not that hard. She was unhelpful, inconsiderate, offered no solutions, and seemed like she really couldn't be bothered to help. Never again Budget. Never again. Your customer service SUCKS!

I have rented a vehicle from this location a few times. The location is very convenient, just a 10 min walk from my home. One time, I needed a van for the family, and I had reservations, but it took them an extra a few hours to get the van. The manager was nice, and understandably, it wasn't something he could control. All in all, its a good convenient place.

I specifically called ahead and discussed my flight landing late and if anyone would be there to pick up my car. They told me yes and they had all my flight information. When I got to the rental building no one was there and when I called customer services the first guy I talked to hung up on me. I finally got through to someone who could help me change the reservation to the next morning but now I was stuck at 1am in the ontario rental building. Horrible advise to give me and not happy st all that I was put in this situation when I specifically tried to avoid it. There were about 5 other families and individuals there with me who all said they called ahead and were told the same thing. NOT OK AT ALL!!!

Icbc told them they would pay. Had a glitch and they said they wouldnt pay. Before calling me to sort it out the scrambled to take a payment asap and screwed up my credit card. Dont you think they should have called me first. I called the adjuster and she had t sorted out. Also they charged ICBC an extra day ( i returned a day early) because they are scammers like that. I told them flat out I would not pay an extra day for the upgrade. Scammers.

Tldr; got charged 3 weeks after my rental and failed to get any info on why I was charged. I've had to file a complaint with my bank for fraudulent charge Long version- 3 weeks after renting a car I got charged $200 on my credit card. Their customer service call centre agent told me it's for a violation and gave me a number to call. That agent told me they don't have any info of a violation on my rental. They gave me someone else's number. Again no info on my violation. After 2 hours and 6 different calls, I finally got a number for Avis/Budget's local Vancouver Violation ticket office. No one has returned my call to even tell me why I got charged or atleast give me a ticket number. Pathetic service

Do not rent a car from this place. They are extremely rude! I made a reservation online, and when arriving 30 minutes before my scheduled pickup time they told me I have to come back in 30 minutes... So I came back in 30 minutes and they asked me what my rush was?!! What the rush is... I NEED A CAR! Simple.

An unusual problem cropped up when I tried to pick up my rental at the Fastbreak hut at Ontario Airport. I'd reserved a car the week prior and was unaware that the transaction didn't go through. Apparently my credit card was rejected as the address for the card was discrepant from my address with Budget. The manager and another employee attempted to use the two (debit) cards I had with me to no avail. The manager (a woman whose name I neglected to write down) was tenacious in trying to discover what had happened. Eventually, she found out about the discrepancy and was able to right the ship so that I could obtain the car. She stayed with the process for a good half-hour before working it out. That's one fine employee!

Pick up was seamless and the car was clean. However, you should not be renting out a car that just wreaks of cigarette smoke. Having to sit in that for 6 hours was one of the worst experiences imaginable. I don't know how the car cleaning guy let that pass.

Mike Moore, the manager at this Budget location is awful. He is extremely rude and confrontational if anything about your rental gets changed. For some reason he personally believes that the cars he rents are HIS. He will attempt to bully you into paying outlandish fees, and blatantly lie about policy. Of all the rental locations I’ve dealt with over my many years of renting his location is the absolute worst; avoid it at all costs. Like other reviewers have mentioned he does not care about the customer and makes it abundantly clear. Respect yourself enough and rent somewhere else.

Terrible experience . Not only did our rental car break down. But their roadside assistance told us to drive 3 hours in the car to another state to pick up a new car. Upon dropping off the car, the supervisor justin let me know that he could only take off one day, never apologized for our terrible experience. Poor customer service and poor experience. I will NEVER rent from budget again.

I rented a jeep grand Cherokee for 5 days at the end of April 2016, as my truck was in the shop at Suburban Ford. I got a great rate thru Suburbans relationship, the Jeep was in new condition but the best part was when I returned the Jeep on April 30. I had left my parking pass in the jeep, Budget staff took the time to call me, advise me, and because I could not make it in until after hours the girl placed my pass in a mutually agreed hiding place. To my delight when I arrived at Budget my park pass was right where we agreed. It was this extra mile the girl took that has earned my future business.

Superior service. Family from overseas came to rent a larger vehicle for four weeks. The exact vehicle model they requested wasn't available (although a very similar one was), but the attendant made sure all needs were met and offered much appreciated discounts to make amends. I've rented a fair amount and have almost never encountered such good service. It helped make their trip even better.

Excellent customer service. Justis was wonderful! He informed us that windshield and tire damage is very common in the Yukon and that the additional insurance coverage is a good idea. They also have a notice posted for their customers indicating the same message. It is evident that this Budget cares about the customer. Will rent again from here. Thank you!

We rented a Budget car for our trip to Newfoundland. We purchased third party car insurance. During our time, a bag containing the key to the rental car was stolen. We had to access roadside assistance. Of course, we were charged for the tow. We need to make a claim but what has been very frustrating is that Budget did not provide us with a breakdown of those expenses for insurance purposes. I had to call several departments for the an itemized list of expenses, but they all gave us the run around. Their billing department is very disorganized. I would suggest anyone other than Budget for your vacation.

At first I was happy cause i was able to get a pretty good deal for a full-sized carover the phone but, when I arrived from the airport, there were no cars available so they forced me to take a large, lumbering, gas-guzzling SUV instead. Not f***ing impressed. ???????????? Rent a car elsewhere.

These guys are liars and thieves. Be supper careful that everything they say is on the paper when you sign. They told me that the second driver was not charged because it was an ICBC claim and both insured drivers from our own car had to be on the rental. Then charged us the fee anyways at the end. Don't believe them on anything. Budget gets sued then any other rental company. ICBC must get a kick back since they insist you twenty from here. Totally immoral.

Pretty bad experience here. Be afraid for few bucks, they will be overcharging with no reason fees after you finish your trip. They stole your money. If you left a grain of ground in the floor. They charge you cleaning service. Read all the other reviews!! By the way. They did not have cars even if you have booked with time. I had to wait more than one hour for my car. Look for other rental place!!

We rented a pick up truck and it was a nice new truck but it didn't have running boards on it!!!! How on earth did you think we were going to get into it????? If you were 12 feet tall you could probably get in it easily. But not for seniors.

My sister came to visit. She paid for insurance, and was the victim of a hit-and-run in town. The deductible on the Budget insurance was $15,000. In other words, there is no insurance. On top of that, they charged her a daily fee until the repairs were done. I would NEVER recommend Budget to a friend.

They are the worst. I showed up on Dec 26th after hours of delays and when I went to the counter at 11p told me that they were "not honoring" my "same day" reservation. No previous notice or cancelation, just left me stranded at the airport. Reality is they overbooked theirs cars and left me hanging. I asked they at least get me a taxi but said their manager would have to approve. I waited for 20min but they never showed so I left and paid for a uber myself. Ridiculous.

So, these guys really did a good job. Let me tell you why: it's December 28th, the height of the holiday season/madness is going on, and I forgot to make plans to rent a car until last minute. I usually rent from Enterprise, but including the drop fee, my 36 hour rental would come to $298. Cut to me phoning Budget the day I want to rent a car, without a previous reservation mind you, and they not only drive to my house to pick me up and take me to the rental place, but when I get there, I learn that they've been swamped all day with customers, and one of their shift supervisors hadn't shown up for work that day, so it was just two guys (one of them very new to the job) dealing with a horde of customers. English was neither of their first languages, so I was very impressed with how calm and collected they were while they worked their way through the long line of people. When they got to me, they ended up getting me a far better vehicle than I had hoped for, and at about a third of the price that I would have had to pay at Enterprise. Budget may not be the fanciest establishment, but those two were definitely working their butts off, and they deserve to know it. Cheers!

I usually deal with Enterprise. They are so customer centric. And the experience with budget I have is quite opposite. My dad was moving so he was using his Credit card to pay for the rental and for me to be able to drive I had to pay $10. The whole deal was dad pays for it but I will be the only driver. They couldn't make an exception. Where as Enterprise always make an exception. I will choose budget if I don't have another option.

Good prices and convenient location (if you can find it) for a day rental near Old Quebec. It was much cheaper than getting a rideshare to Hotel de Glace and Ile d'Orleans that we wanted to visit. Upgrading to an AWD SUV because of weather wasn't an issue either.

Was in Ontario for my kids Softball tournament, had to leave the hotel at 5:30 am to get to the fields. Car had a dead battery and we waited 7 hours for Budgets roadside assistance to show up. They would not let me get another car till the one I had was picked up by the tow truck. Completely unacceptable to leave us hanging in 90 degree weather.

I reserved a car to be picked up at this location through Air Miles. On the reservation it asked me when I will be picking up the car, the time I put down was about 1:30 after my flight into the Kitchener Airport was scheduled to land. The day I travelled to Kitchener/Waterloo my flight ended up being delayed a couple of hours. Aparently while I was in the air, someone from this Budget location called my cell phone but never left a voicemail (I have Who Called from Rogers) When I arrived at the Budget location the manager told me they thought I was going to be a no show and already cancelled my reservation but told me it was not a problem and I will receive a card, which I did, and I thought everything was fine. Little did I know, after my trip to Kitchener/Waterloo, when I received my credit card bill I found out that I was being charged the Full regular price for the rental, even though I used Air Miles to purchase this rental. Subsequently everyone at Budget s customer support was unable to fix this mistake and give me refund, even when I contacted Air Miles support they told me that only Budget can give me a refund for this mistake. It was not until I disputed the charges directly with my credit card company was when I finally received a refund. What is completely ridiculous about this is this ALL would have never happened if the manager at this location did not cancel my reservation because I was only 2 hours late and did not answer my phone because I was in an airplane.

The 2 girls that where working left the station with a line full of us. I waited 35 minutes before I decided to go to Enterprise and ask for help. It took a Enterprise worker to go ask a Avis employee to help me. I will never do business with budget again. I paid way to much money to be treated like trash. From budget on reviews, it states the customer is always right. I wasn't treated equal at all. I wasn't greeted and neither was the others in line because I was the 1st one in line at 2pm. Budget gave me a horrible experience

Booked a car for a one day Saturday rental. Got there and the vehicle we'd booked wasn't available. We were given a different one, but told that (despite what we'd been told when booking by phone) it would have to be a two day booking as they're not open on Sundays. Fantastic experience. The person who was assisting me was either the owner or the manger and felt like he was practically a saint. Last summer I rented a car from Budget at the Pearson location and ended up with a NIGHTMARE. Luckily, this man took the time to listen to my story and take care of my problem on behalf of Budget. He cared about my situation, and was super pleasant to my wife and daughter. He didn't have to do this. He made no money from this, but he cared about the company brand and future customers. He called the district manager, solved my nightmare of a problem with billing and a botched inspection on pick up (my fault, should have done it before I took the car). If it wasn't for him, my vacation would have sucked. I wish I remembered his name, but I believe he came from Somalia(?) years ago. Great guy, super service. Thank you so much. I will rent from your location each time, and every time I am in Windsor, On. This guy will forever stay in my mind as an example of what customer service should be.

When going to pick up the rental car I had to wait longer in line than it took for me to fly into the airport. The people that worked there were great, but the system they have in place does not allow them to send customers out of the door faster than they come in it. It's easily over an hour and a half wait if theres more than 5 people ahead of you. They have 7 computers and only 2 people helping. Then they share 1 radio to communicate to the car lot. They have backup radios they're not allowed to use because management wont let them. My company uses Budget for all of their travel and I will be requesting that we change to another rental agency that wont cause me to miss my appointments due to their poor operations.

The experience with budget was on like a 3 star at first, since the car was quite beat up and when it went over 80KM it would shutter like crazy. The reason for the 1 start was because when I looked at our statement they charged us to fill up our tank of gas when we returned the car.... even though we filled it up 100%. Apparently I was told that sometimes people will steal gas from parked cars. The issue was that after providing my receipt it took a month and a half to get a refund, and I had to pester the Manager Mike. Not super profession to tell people that we will get a refund in 24 to 48 hours, when it was, 24 to 48 days......

Your customer service representative at the Ontario Airport in Ontario, California are very rude and condescending. First, he was complaining that he couldn't hear me because I had my face mask on. But he didn't get up to come closer to me, he just kept sitting in his chair being rude and saying he couldn't hear me. He would have been able to hear me if he had just gotten up and came to the counter where I was standing. Im not sure what he expected.. for me to take my mask off and put myself and everyone around me in danger? Come on... Secondly, he said they were sold out of all cars, but I was able to make a reservation right there at the airport. I don't believe he was telling the truth, he was trying to get me to make a reservation for a more expensive car. I was able to make a reservation through the website, but he refused to release a car to me. He was very, very rude and it shows that your employees need to be re-trained in the customer service portion of their jobs. The way this situation was handled was unacceptable.

We booked in April for an August pick up and PRE-PAID for the rental in full. Upon arrival Avis did not hold our reservation or have a vehicle for us - despite 4 vehicles of our class sitting on the lot. We missed our accommodations due to them no honouring the agreement. Staff tried to help but will not cover what we lost and have only offered a free 2 day rental in the future (in US only with loads of conditions).

Great staff and service at this location. Truck was in great condition and everything went smoothly with the rental. The only negative and the reason for the 4 rather than 5 stars is that I did not get a receipt. I was told to go to the World Wide Web site to get my receipt and was not able to get it despite several attempts. Customer should not need to struggle with technology to get a receipt for the rental.

I would give less stars if there was an option - after renting a car for nearly two months to deal with a death in the family, I returned it only to have to argue my way out of them trying to overcharge me an entire week; spent over an hour there fighting for the correct amount and they wouldn't give me a final invoice to prove the amount I paid (which wasn't a small fee). For my trouble, I was discounted a pidly amount and then they charged more money (including the discount) to my card a week later, after telling me they would contact me before charging me for any additional fees (which they didn't see me owing). DO NOT RENT FROM HERE.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE - Moving Day - "Sorry WE DON"T HAVE YOUR VAN FOR YOU" It was the morning of my moving day and my Mum had rented a truck to drive from St. Catharines to Burlington, make a move across Burlington, and back to St. Catharines. I had to get out of my current living situation and had asked for the help of family friends, one of whom had to be back in Niagara for 3pm. My Mum had called about four times during the week prior to moving day to make sure the van would be available first thing that morning. At 8am on moving day, Budget Rental called to say "Sorry, the person who had your van hasn't returned it and we can't get a hold of them." WHAT?! I needed to move and had to do so within a few hours, and suddenly we don't have a moving van? Budget offered NO solutions, help, OR discount. We had to rent from UHaul and when we asked for a print out of the receipt from Budget to see if UHaul would do a price match, Budget refused to give us one. What an incredibly unprofessional and unreliable company. They were hardly apologetic and had no extra vehicles available. Do not rent from this company unless you're flexible with your moving plans and don't mind receiving no compensation when your plans get messed up.

Not the greatest customer service. My fault, I know, but I got on the plane with my keys. Their response was: since they cannot rent the car until they get the keys, then I would be charged. I understand their thought behind this, and would agree if their fleet was rented and they had to refuse vehicle rentals, as this would be lost revenue and I should be on the hook for lost revenue. My issue is their fleet was not rented, not having access to the car did not influence their profits. If they truly cared about customer service, or their reputation, they would have said no worries, unless all other similar class cars are rented, in which case, they would charge me. That would be a customer first approach, as opposed to a profit first, customer second approach. Luckily I knew someone on the flight going the other direction and was only charged for an extra day, which still does not make sense as the keys were returned within the initial 24 hour window, give or take 20 minutes. Anyways, they are not interested in their clients best interests, which is why I am only giving 1 star.

Worst experience here. Came as a tourist to Whitehorse and rented a car. They talked about everything about contract except mileage. Even in their email, they didn’t mention about mileage limit. I have been renting a car since last 10 years and first thing every car rental company talks about or takes sign on mileage. After dropping a car, they charged me 249 CAD for over limits of mileage. Felt cheated here. Not recommended. I called them but they didn’t resolve my issue and dropped email as well but no response yet.

There is an extremely limited choice of vehicles, and they don't seem to have anything but "premium vehicles" (since when is Subaru premium) with *limited* km. We’ve waited in line for over 30 mins and hardly moved. There is still 12 people in front of us. One of the girls at the desk doesn’t know what she’s doing , leaving one girl to handle everything. Then a guy comes and announces if we booked the same day they may not have enough cars for everyone. What a waste of my day. I've rented from this location several times. Most of the time everything has gone well, but they have been out of the car type I reserved. I always make reservations days in advance, so it shouldn't be an issue to have the car type I need. I rent cars for road trips to keep the mileage off my own vehicle and always rent cars with good fuel economy so I do not want an upgrade to a gas guzzler.

I have rented from this location about 5-6 times within the last year. I previously rented from Hertz, however the friendliness of the representatives and attention to detail made me switch. The vehicle rented is always available or I've been given an upgrade. I have also been shuttled to and from this location which is very convenient. I'd like to personally recognize the manager Hamza for his excellent customer service, he even had the car warmed up for me when I arrived which really makes a difference in the Saskatoon winter. My only complaint is that the service location is quite outdated and could use a renovation for when you have to wait for service or a ride. Thanks!

I called at 9:10 to reserve a car for around 12:30. I was looking for economy but they only had mid and full sized sedans remaining (last minute so no big deal) so reserved the mid. When I arrived, one attendant was dealing with another customer and was saying to them "because you reset the mileage, I have to calculate the distance traveled TO UNDO YOUR SCREW UP" (not quite an exact quote but something with the same rude, accusatory tone). Anyway, that attendant couldn't find my reservation so had someone else come over (the only other person working there from what I could tell). I recognized this man's voice from the morning when I called for the reservation. He couldn't find it but recognized my name and admitted to me that he forgot to put in the reservation because got distracted right after I called. Unfortunately, there were no more sedans available anymore so they gave me a minivan (for the price of the mid-sized sedan I had tried to reserve). When I returned to drop off the keys, I saw every other car's windows were down (it was a hot sunny day) so I figured it was intentional so left my car's windows down too. The first attendant from noon (the rude one) was now the only one there. I mentioned the windows, thinking I was doing him a favour, but he asked me to roll them up for her instead. So overall, not a great experience. Their prices are not great either.

When I called to check rates I was quoted a rate without being told what size of car it was for - I hadn't specified. When I questioned a policy that had been formerly in place I was told they would check with the manager and see if anything could be done and then they would get back to me. They took my phone number but never called back. I went in person to double check and was told they didn't check with the manager but just read the policy. They don't seem to care if they rent to you or not. My family and I used to give this organization all of our business. The service used to be excellent. Sadly since the move to the Tudor Glen location the service has been terrible. We will not be renting again from this location.

I've rented many cars and vans and this was the best experience I've had. I dealt with the Yorkdale and Glencairn locations and the staff at both locations were excellent and went above and beyond to help me. I rented an SUV to move a dresser, and the guys at the Yorkdale location were worried I wouldn't have enough space. Sure enough, they were right. I brought the car back and they helped me find a minivan at the Glencairn location and had the guys there put down the seats for me, remembering that I had mentioned I had a small child, so they left 1 seat up in the back for the carseat. Such great attention to detail and customer service. Super impressed - awesome staff at the Yorkdale location and the guys at the Glencairn location set up the minivan perfectly and were super nice.

Kathleen at the Budget kiosk saved my business trip. I had reserved a car with the other rental company in the airport. When I arrived at their kiosk, no one was there. No one answered the phone at their office in Whitehorse and the message box was full. Kathleen was leaving for the day and saw me waiting at the other kiosk. She drove to the other company's office in Whitehorse to tell them someone was waiting at the airport to pick up a car but no one was at the office either. She drove back to the airport and re-opened the Budget Kiosk and rented me car. Above and Beyond service.

It was most horrific. Although my documents said no confirmation required our booking was canceled because we were 3 hours late. Budget blamed it on Expedia not giving our email or phone info. They would not credit my insurance fee. We went to another provider and they were excellent. After 20 minuted the Budget clerc came and offered us the same vehicle for $100 more per day. The clerks from two other rentals overheard and they commented that it was the 4th cancelation incident that day from Budget. They also said it was a common happening.

It's the same location. Different people this time but same franchisee. OMG! Always check your receipt before leaving. My booking G was from 5 pm Friday to 5 pm Sunday. Just because I reached there at 4:35 they charged me for an extra day and also added the damage waiver for that day ! Good thing I checked the receipt just before I left the place and told them that I would rather wait 20 extra minutes but to pay 55 extra cad. They then changed the receipt and only gave me a new receipt after repeatedly asking for that ! My suggestion would be be prepared for a bad customer service if u go there and always verify ur receipt so that you don't get charged extra. Three stars for their cars ! They are good no doubt ! I just wish they attend the customers carefully next time onwards. I will be happy to give them five stars !

When I picked up my vehicle, I was greeted with a smile. My original reservation for a full size vehicle wasn't available the customer service rep upgraded my vehicle to a small SUV at no charge which was nice of her to do. Once I walked over to my vehicle the front license plate was crushed in, and there was the smell of smoke in the car. Unfortunately, my time didn't allow for me to go back in side to discuss another vehicle so I left with the Kia. I traveled to Utah an unexpectant winter storm happened with rain and snow falling. The windshield wipers were no good, I had to really focus to get through the storm. The windshield wipers made the window look as if someone had poured oil on the window because is was blurry the while they were on. Nonetheless, I called the 800 number to inquire about my options to turn in the vehicle three hours late or just to rent the car an extra day. I spoke with Mohammad who informed me that I would have to pay and extra 123.00 for the additional day which is more than my daily rental of 71.99 when I told him it was due to weather and if there is something they could do he said no. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he placed me on hold for 10 to 15 minutes and didn't return to check in on me. I hung up called back spoke to someone else, who got me a supervisor right away. The supervisor informed me that this was just an estimated price and that I should be charged the 71.99 of the original full size vehicle price. When I took the car back and tried to explain what happened, the front desk clerk over talked me and simply didn't want to hear anything I had to say. So I believe you get more bees with honey than salt. The overall customer service was BLAH and Shameful with the exception of the rep who checked me in when I went to pick up the vehicle. Personally, just make sure you speak up immediately when there's something that's not to your liking. I normally deal with Enterprise and Hertz and I will continue to do so moving forward.

These people are horrible. Do not rent there!!! I was there this past weekend and was most definitely discriminated against. My reservation was pre booked several days in advance. When I showed up to their Ontario airport location for avis budget group I was expecting to check out my rental like I have done many times with other companies. When I presented my ID and credit card I was told that I needed another form of picture ID in order to rent from them. This has never been requested of me in my life when renting a car or any other situation. I presented a valid drivers license and a valid credit card. All my information correct. Of course I didn't have another picture ID because normal people don't walk around with 2 picture IDs. When I ask why this was being requested they said that the computer randomly requests 3rd IDs. It made no sense at all. When I asked to speak to a manager it took them 20 min to come. While I was waiting I was also observing all of the other transactions after mine. None of which were asked for a second picture ID. When the manager finally arrived he (Eric Sosa-Ramirez) was very rude and short and refused to answer my simple question of why am I being asked to provide a second picture ID. All he kept doing was repeating the same answer of the computer is requiring it. When asked why no one else is required by the "computer" to provide a second picture ID he just parroted the same response. He refused to give me the phone number of his supervisor but instead gave me a scribbled email address that was not legible. I was not satisfied with his answer and my treatment by this HORRIBLE company. He also threatened to call security when there was no threat at all to him except his own cowardliness. In the midst of me questioning him he stated that he was declining service to me. With all of that, these low down scoundrels charged my card $50 for a non-cancel fee of my reservation! I will definitely be getting that back and than some!

A little dispointed. I should have read the comments here. It was ok to pick up the car. After returning the car (early in the morning and I was the only client), the employee told me that he can not drive me home (5min from the store) because it was only him who was working, he has to close the store if he drive me home. It does not metter, I called my wife to pick me up. But I was told that I can not wait in the store because he need to close it. Then I wait outside more than 10mins, luckly the weather was not so bad, only -6 degree. Before arriving of my wife, I saw there were 2 employees working there. What a Poor sense of client service!

One month before my parents arrive from another country, I booked through Budget's website a GMC Terrain 7 seater. One day before the pickup day I received an email confirming my rental and the chosen vehicle. On the arrival day, I went to Budget’s location to get the vehicle and I discovered that they didn’t have a GMC Terrain 7 seater, just a 5 seater. I asked why I was not informed about it one month before and the employee, with no empathy at all, just said that was not his responsibility because it was an issue with Budget’s website. I asked for another 7 seats’ car, but the employee said that there was none. When I asked if there was something that he could do it for me (as they already screwed my rental), he said “what you want me to do? I cannot build a car for you now. Go to another shop!” So… after this wonderful customer service received I took his advice and went to Enterprise car rental, where the employee was super friendly and got me the car I needed. If I could give -10 stars to Budget and their employee I would. Budget never more!!! Be careful with this company.

I absolutely HAD TO write a review here after the experience me and my family just had. It was December 23rd and my brother, while vacationing in Whitehorse, had been in a serious, life-threatening accident. My family all lives in Ontario so my Dad trekked across the country to be by my brothers bedside at the hospital. We were trying to find a car for my Dad to rent but they were all sold out everywhere until after the holidays. I phoned this budget and spoke to Mike, the manager (or he might be the owner? I'm not sure). Anyway, Mike bent over backwards for us and managed to track down a car by the next day, which was of course Christmas Eve. The shop was closing in 20 minutes when he had called me and there was no way my Dad would have made it down there in time by cab from the hospital so once again Mike came to the rescue and sent someone to go pick my Dad up from the hospital. He could have literally charged us anything and we would've had no choice but to pay it, but he gave us a great deal (I thought anyway, in my previous experience renting cars it was a lot cheaper than I would have guessed it would be, especially during the holidays and high demand). Every time we spoke on the phone he would ask how my brother was doing as well (spoiler alert: everyone survived and are recovering well now!) and Mike came through for us again when my brother's hospital stay got extended and we needed the car for a few extra days. I am just in awe of the hospitality that Mike showed us during such a trying time for our family and would 10/10 recommend this location. Thank you for everything Mike!

Disappointed by their service. I paid for an all wheel drive compact SUV and they gave me a FWD sedan to drive in the snow!!! On complaining they said they "upgraded me free of cost" which is ridiculous because I paid for a vehicle with 600 km and they gave me 200 km. How is that an upgrade??? I was so mad and they keep saying the same thing over and over like they are deranged. I couldn't do everything I planned because the car won't go to the places with high snow. It was extremely disappointing and not worth paying less if they are not going to stick to their words. They keep saying they can't guarantee the make model but that's not the point!!! At least give me a compact SUV like promised I am not even asking for guarantee of make model. It's so stupid. My booking says compact SUV all wheel drive or SIMILAR. How is FORD FUSION FWD similar to that? AND they upgraded someone in front of me to SUV!! While I was downgraded and I paid for it!!! I highly advise against booking with them.

Not sure why other customers aren’t happy, we had a great experience. We booked online couple days prior a car for one day, came to the office, got the car, had a blast visiting three parks around Quebec City and return the car. No complains at all. Just keep in mind the Budget and Avis are the same company, and their office is located in the lobby of Hilton hotel, little bit hidden but bellhop will explain you how to get there.

I had an average experience with this place, the two times I rented out of there in Dec 2018 and Jan 2019. The guy at the desk was just ok, not flexible in giving me a good solution. It was more like take it of forget it. In Dec 2018 I wanted to go to the US and I booked for a full size car (Impala). He told me that they have no cars and I could take the 10 seater bus, just for my wife and I. The manager was nice enough to interfere and give me a nicer SUV.

We needed a rental car to go to Ottawa: 8 July 2015: My husband talked to Hira at avis budget group St Catharines, On 436 Saint Paul St. she gave him a price for 3 days rental no credit card or payment was required we only needed to do that on July 24 the day we needed the car. We went to pick the car up and a different person is behind the computer he did not say his name but in a business card I took there is a name (Maj Siddiqi – Agency Operator) the person there asked my husband name an appeared that he was looking at the computer as if my husband name was not there, “sir your name is not here, so we don’t have a vehicle for you” – “what do you mean we have no vehicle I reply, I’m going for a job interview and I cannot miss it” - “I don’t know It is not my fault, I was not here and I do not know anything about it” he replied. We were so disgusted by this situation that finally he call Burlington and ask the guy there (Avis Canada 1400 Plains Rd E) if he had a vehicle for us. He added that this was like a Big favour since I was going for a “job interview” “I felt so lucky for such a big favour,” driving to Burlington and paid a lot more for the last minute rental !great! Personally we think that was a trick they play to new customers that are not use to rent cars, I pretty much could be in his computer and he did not wanted to show us the computer screen, he likely rented the car to person before us or Good knows what they did there.

I had a very good experience with this Budget location. I booked online and paid the same amount as my booking (no added surprise costs later). For my economy car, I was given a brand new VW Golf (only 900kms on it when I borrowed it). The staff brought it to the front door of the office with the heat on and seats warmed (this was during the February cold snap of 2015). The staff was friendly and efficient on both pick-up and drop off. Convenient location near Yorkdale Mall.

I prepaid for a full sized vehicle for a week in Palm Springs. Our flight was delayed. I tried to call from about 7pm PST when we found out about the delay to 10pm PST when we finally departed and no answer. I finally got ahold of someone at the help center at 1230am they told me the Ontario car rental was long closed and we would have to go in the morning but that we had 24 hours to get our car without our reservation being canceled. Because our Air BnB was out in Palm Springs we paid for a hotel near the Ontario airport so we could pick up the car in the morning. Once I arrived at the car rental site I was told that my reservation was canceled and they would have to rebook it and I might have to pay any additional charges. Fortunately the amount was less probably because it was a day less but I couldn't get reimbursed the difference. The agent offered to put it toward coverage since I couldn't put it toward gas like I wanted. I said fine. Then what really irritated me was I was given a Ford Ecosport which has to have been the crappiest car on the lot. It barely fit our luggage and only after I piled items on my kids in the cramped back seat. A very disappointing customer experience that has convinced me not to prepay again.

I have always used this company when flying back home, that was until this weekend. After arriving from a late flight the rep at the desk was extremely unprofessional on so many levels. She was under the avis sign, we asked if budget was there and her response raising her voice was "I am budget" and she asked why it took us so long to get up to the desk. (we had waited in the wrong line for 40 minutes) She then said our car wasn't booked until the following morning, extra money to have another driver on the rental, spoke to us in such a degrading way as if we were stupid to her. My mother asked if we were still getting our original car and the lady looked at her and basically yelled "what, no you messed up your rental" After being told we were getting a different vehicle my mother asked what it was like "well i'm sure you wouldn't want an SUV so you're getting a luxury car you know because you screwed this up" I'd probably need six pages of paper to write about how disrespectful this woman was to us but i'll save you the time. Lastly, getting out to our car that had A FOOT PRINT on the front windshield... yes a bare footprint. The vehicle looked as if it was a personal vehicle that hadn't been cleaned in a year, I was disgusted enough that I had to go buy wipes to CLEAN the areas in which our bodies would come in contact with. I will NEVER go back to this place, being as it was always my number one place to rent a vehicle 5 times a year out there I am saddened by this as I've never had a problem but thanks to this employee that has changed.

Atrocious. Booked my rental months out, when I arrived for my 7 day rental, was denied because I have a N license. I have rented at nearly every rental company in Vancouver & I book rentals daily for my guests. NEVER, have been denied or been told that because of a N license that a person can't rent. Not once was it ever said or printed on my confirmation that this is a policy. The man showed no empathy, accused me of arriving late for my pickup. I arrived at 4:15pm, which I called days before to confirm with a woman at the location. I changed my reservation time so I could pick my car up after work & make my ferry tomorrow a.m. to Vancouver Island. I am now stranded. I have planned an extensive vacation and need this car. The rental office closed at 4:30, I asked if there was any way my partner who has a class 5 license could come and put the rental in his name, that he could get there about 10 minutes after close. I was in tears with nowhere to go with a prepaid rental and the man just said "no" and kicked me out the second the clock hit 4:30. ...which is ironic because when I arrived at the location there was a "back in 20" minutes sign on the door & "thanks for your understanding" note. ...I waited patiently, but he couldn't do the same?? Now I have no rental and a prepaid reservation. Absolutely atrocious customer service. I called Budget and they said their policy allows N license holders to rent cars and that this was a personal choice of this location. I will never recommend this business.

Very unprofessional and lair. The owner promised me to pick up my car from the storage and he made me to wait a week and still not able to pick up my car from the yard. As as result, I was charged an extra $105. I believe he wanted me to wait so the storage fee would accumulate and then I abandon the car, so he could pick it up for free for himself. I would recommend to stay away from this scammer...

It was very busy and we didn't get the vehicle that we reserved. We ended up getting a smaller vehicle than what we needed and didn't get a discount, just got charged for an SUV when we got a car instead. We just didn't have the time to take it back and complain but they're were others who were complaining about their rental being dirty, the company ran out of vehicles but yet were still giving out what they could even though the wait was over an hour.

I had a reservation my husband made me. We've used Budget and others for the last 25 years using his employer discount code. Your agent wanted my husband to be with me to show his ID. He wasn't with me on this trip so how could he? He said I couldn't have the car unless he saw ID. My husband is a pilot so if he was on a trip what would I have done? Luckily he was able to send me a picture of his ID but the agent made it clear it was just an acception. The agent said it because there are so many issues with car rentals, you can't trust people and using the discount codes for just anyone! We have the same last name!! So you would have left me stranded without a car if he was working?? I rented it for a week!! I'm not happy at all!

The process was easy and simple. The staff was wonderful. The price was PERFECT! I needed the vehicle for a quick turnaround trip to Las Vegas. I left something there and needed to retrieve it. The vehicle with all airport fees was only $23. It was a fuel efficient vehicle so the total cost including gas was only $65. That saved a lot of wear and tear on my truck which would have required more than $65 to fill my gas tank. I will continue to rent vehicles from this location. I am ALWAYS happy with my rentals.

it took almost 40 minutes for someone to bring up the rental. when they brought it the van reeked of cigarette. i made a reservation for 12 noon pick up left 1.5 hours later. Some of the employees were running around while one of the workers sat in a van looking at her cell phone until she saw a supervisor, then she quickly started checking in the car.

Flew down from Vancouver, to spend a week in Vernon and decided to get a rental car for the week. We booked online, and picked up the car in the morning in an efficient and seamless manner. The car was clean, tank full and smelt fresh. The service was also great, friendly and clear. My only complaint, is when asked for assistance on how we will drop the car off at their airport location, as our flight is at 7am and the location is closed and we of course do not want to risk missing our flight. The response was quite the joke, as because they’ve never dropped it off, they couldn’t help us. Although, we were assured there SHOULD be a key drop off.

My car was black exterior and interior. The AC was not working and the passenger seat was broken. It made a very uncomfortable ride for myself and my daughter. When I called the local number for the rental counter it rang for several minutes and then disconnected. No one ever answered the phone over 4 days. The 800 number was equally unhelpful. I was offered to have the car exchanged at a fee of $280 and a 6 hour wait, if they could locate a vehicle. I should also mention that I waited over an hour and a half to pick up the car in the first place. Worst customer service I have ever experienced.

My preferred rental company but this time at Ontario I had to wait 1.5 hrs to get to counter but employees had no problem taking breaks even when they see line was extra long. Once I completed paperwork at counter I had to wait another 20+ minutes to get car from being cleaned. During return of car employees where sitting in another car and I had to wait several minutes for 1 of them to come over and return car. Employees where nice and friendly but didn't care about timeliness of service. Not what I have come to expect from Budget service wise.

The worst auto-rental experience I've ever had. Schedule two vans months in advance and get informed the day-of that one is 'damaged'. No alternative was offered, and phone calls were ignored for several business days. There is a gas station right across and another one a couple of blocks away in case you forget to refuel. First Day the Computers went down and I came from NY to Ontario California in which i never been. I was unable to make it to my room until 5:30am and I Was Stuck waiting to see who will be willing to take me because apparently where i stayed out was too far from airport and all cab service refused me for hours and i was so fustrated. I don't think they put much effort into cleaning their cars. The inner door handle and steering wheel were sticky, there were receipts on the floor from a previous renter and wrappers in the rear hatch area. It was kind of gross. If you have to rent from them, bring some wipes.

This is a story of two halves. Thank you to TJ manager of budget car rental in Belleville for helping resolve the problem created by Budget at Toronto Pearson Airport who allocated me a car of the wrong category without explanation. In fact they were extremely rude and had zero customer service. They then didn’t answer their phone which meant I had to spend precious days of my holiday trying to find a suitable car that was big enough to get us back to the airport. TJ at Belleville managed to source me s suitable car and was extremely helpful when we arrived to do a swap. Thank you. I will be contacting Budget Toronto Pearson direct to complain about the service I originally received and would never recommend you use the branch at the airport Lucy Partridge .

Car has big mark on the door when I rented at the airport and there was no check sheet to hand in. Used the car and returned to different location at downtown hotel. Worried about the existing damage but no one I could talk to during the rent out and retune period although return period fell into weekend. Hotel has budget office but closed. After receiving a confirmation email that a minivan was reserved, I drove half an hour to this location only to have them casually say "Oh we were unable to secure a minivan for you" There were three male employees that sat at the desk and not one of them offered an apology, another vehicle nor solution. They said they tried to call but the number on file was the wrong number yet they did not try to email me. I handle a lot of major contracts and I will never book this place again or recommend it to any of my contracts. Totally unimpressed and left scrambling at the last minute.

I travel once a month a least to California for my Medical treatments, and this reservation gave me Budget Car Rentals for the first time. I have had a couple issues with the other car rental place that I always get, so coming to Budget I was a little nervous, so got to the counter the teller was very polite to start off with and I could not believe it it honestly maybe took 5minutes no longer then 10 to complete everything. Thank you all so much you have no idea how I felt walking out to get my car. I will be using you on all the rest of my trips!

I was given a high mileage silver Toyota Camry which looked really bad inside and outside. The car needs to be sent away or thoroughly cleaned. The outside was dented and scratched up. I took plenty of photos so I wouldn't be charged. The interior had burn holes in the seat fabric from what I assume was cigarettes. The seats and headline had stains. It was not what I was expecting. I've had better experiences from Budget.

I have to use Budget for work and have found the customer service extremely disappointing every time I have dealt with this location. They rarely answer the phone and don't inspect their vehicles for cleanliness (I have to go out on my own and report issues with the car if I want them to keep them on file). They also do not ever send me a receipt if I drop the car off after hours - I always have to call and request one. All that said, I have to use them for work but would never consider them for my own personal use.

I can't believe this place is still in business. We rent vehicles every week and usually call here first as they're a bit cheeper but more times than not we can't even get them to pick up the phone. As a test I called and let it ring for an hour and no one could be bothered to answer. No answering machine, no, please hold, nothing. I dealt with this company back in February of 2020 and rented a car for the week for about $500. The car had some slight problems that I told them about, and all they could offer was a car exchange which wouldn't have worked as I needed the current car for BC as it had winter tires and the replacements did not. So working at a parts store, I fixed the problems myself and carried on. A week after I returned the car they tried charging me an additional $300 for alleged oversights which I quickly refuted as I went over the agreement before renting and the price I was quoted was what I was sticking with. Now, in the end of May 2020, 3 months later, I have a surprise charge of $250 on my card and I can't get ahold of them to figure out what exactly they think they are doing now. Very displeased. Never again will I ever deal with such a poorly run scam of a company

Utterly impressed with the level of service. The manager was in on his scheduled "day-off" and was working even though his family was in town for a visit. When I got there five minutes before closing he had a line-up of five people trying to get on their way. STAY AWAY from these guys. Here is my story: A week before I was moving, I called them up to book a 16' cube moving truck. They told me that they have a truck ready for me, and that it was guaranteed. The day of my move, I called them early in the morning to make sure that they had my truck that I was going to pick up at 3pm, and the guy told me there is one truck parked right in front that he is looking at with my name on it, so it will be there. Everything is great and calm so far. However, when I show up at 3pm to pick up my truck, there is NO truck available..... They have apparently RENTED OUT MY BOOKED TRUCK to someone else. The guy then guaranteed me that he will call me later on the same day to let me know that a truck is ready when one comes in. I did not get a call back from them. 7:30pm rolls around (they close at 8pm), I ended up going to Uhaul and getting a truck immediately so that I could still move. I had to pack the truck through the night because of these people who cannot run company properly, and whom have redefined the word GUARANTEE for me. Stay away from them and go with a different company, or at least a different location!

Watch these guys. I reserved a compact car, not the bottom line, and when I got there they said I had reserved a Smart car and insisted on me paying and extra 7 dollars a day for a Cruze, which is a compact car in my opinion. When I looked online later found out that 7 dollars a day is for the full size car. The corporate office was unhelpful and the people at the counter were surly when we arrived, and totally unhelpful. I would not rent from Budget again. They gave me bullshit excuses that don't fly. I believe it is false advertising and will be contacting the Better Business Bureau.

I never ever rent the car in the Budget St Catharine In 436 St Paul ST. It is not trust and cheat customs Budget in St Catharines. I rented SUV Hyundai for vacation. the server promised gave unlimited mileage, and then checked car quickly nothing scratch. so we rented for 7days and 7 days insurance, but we returned only 5th day. When we return car the charged us over mileage about $200 fee, and 7day rental, and 7day insurance fee. But we had receipt for evidence but it is unlimited mileage. Finally, we got mileage charge off. charge 6 days insurance.........the worst thing is he check it have a tiny scratch in font class, but my friend told me, it existed before we rental. it charge us $700. we were freaking out. But we bought whole coverage insurance( road system insurance). so we safe again. the worst thing was the server ask me to described about the damage by his way. that is "when we driving in highway, the small stone hit the class." it was ridiculous. I have 6 years drive experience. never have this kind accident happen. I felt be cheated.

Each time I rent a vehicle from Budget my experience is phenomenal. And it's not just because of the cost of the rental. But more so it's the Budget staff. Their employees, regardless, of the location, are genuinely kind and accommodating. They go above and beyond to engage each customer as an individual and not just as the next person in line. That's a quality that cannot be taught. It can be enhanced, but not taught. My hat is off to Budget for the quality of the product they produce, great rental vehicles. I like the curbside drop-off feature. It is sooooo convenient - especially when you have a lot of bags, that you dread loading all of them one by one onto the shuttle bus. Between my wife and I we had seven bags. But I didn't understand how this feature worked, and when I asked the agent at the counter about it, he told me to call the 1-800 hotline. He had no idea what it was! Anyway, it was a pleasant surprise at the time we returned the car. We moved to the back seat and the agent drove us to the terminal. We didn't need the shuttle bus at all!

Picked up the car from LAX and had a one way rental to ONT airport. Dropped the car off at 11:30pm on Friday night (which to my knowledge is “after hours”), and left the keys in the key drop box; as instructed. Received a call Saturday morning stating I dropped the car off at 5:30am and the keys were nowhere to be found. I told the employee, Manny, that I left the keys in the drop box. He stated he would let the other employees know. I then received ANOTHER call on Sunday from an individual that they still could not locate the keys. I called back, to receive a voicemail, and I said that I spoke with someone yesterday where I left the keys; and to call me back to get this resolved. No call back. I then called Monday, and again received a voicemail. Still no call back, and it is now Thursday. Much to my surprise, they charged my credit card an additional $238 for a “lost key” that they have in their possession. I DO NOT recommend reserving a car from this location, unless you want zero form of communication and don’t care about extra charges that you should not be liable for.

I had a horrible experience from start to finish. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle, the counter agent was extremely pushy about the added insurance. She stated my insurance would not cover the rental because of its size and it's potential time out of service. Once we were done at the counter still waited 40min. for the vehicle to be washed. When the vehicle arrived wet, it was an older model Chevy van, although I was promised a newer Ford Transit 12 passenger van. I stepped into a small office near the pickup area and the agent inside said that they did not have the newer fleet of the Ford Transit models.I asked to speak with a manager, and expressed my disappointment of the scratches on the exterior, bent license plate, scratches on interior, and roofing that was coming off. The manager, I believe her name was Debbie, was extremely rude. She stated they could not guarantee a type of model. That they were providing what I asked for a 12 passenger van. she said if we wanted to wait another 30 to 45 minutes they would wash another van. I explained that this was my first time with budget and if I would have known my experience would be what it was, I would have gone back to Enterprise. Her response was, I could go to another company if I'm not happy with what they were offering me. Upon returning the vehicle I saw three of the Ford Transit models that I was promised when I made the reservation over the phone. The only kind agent was the security guard that helped us check off the damage on the van prior to taking the vehicle. I will definitely not be returning as a customer.

Rented a car from Sudbury to Belleville and had to switch vehicles to head back home due to an air freshener that caused an allergic reaction that was hidden somewhere in the car. The man at Budget in Belleville was very understanding and after confirming there was a smell to the car, he happily switched the car for us with many apologies! Very good and polite service. The lady in charged me for refueling on my receipt when I filled up paying $10 729 Archibald Ave, Ontario, CA 91764 which is less than 1.7 miles away. That in itself is inferring I used 3 gallons for 1.7 miles. The car was over fueled this is why people don't trust the parking lot checkout. This is my 1st & last time doing so. I will always deal with the counter people which never overcharged in the past.

My huaband and I were left stranded at the airport due to no car being left for us and no number to contact for problems with our car rental reservations. As of 9 30 the next moring we still have not been able to contact anyone about the car rental. They open at 9. If we did not have family in town to pick us up we would have had to pay for cabs everywhere. This has been a bad time due to the car rental.

I was crooked!!! Beware. My reservation through Booking was 90$, the person responsible told me that he would give me an upgrade for 20-30$ more. However when I came back the next day, my bill was 260$. When I told him that my reservation was 90$ a day, he started to try to convince that he is a kind person and that I was 30 min late and that he will not charge a surcharge. So when I realize he was trying to crook me, I told him no worries charge me the extra hour, but he insisted that the system did this and that…. What a poor mentality ????. And when I told him that he would loose me as a client: he replied that he lost other clients and that he did not care.

They call me 2 days before my reservation to offer to have the truck the day before (Friday) because it relieves the clerk on Saturday morning. Peter also offers to bring the truck back only on Sunday morning when it opens because it cannot be inspected on Saturday at the end of the day and I am responsible for any damage or vandalism that may be done to the vehicle. I had to argue and they didn't want to know anything ... Peter will call you back on Monday !! 3 hours later the clerk calls me back and tells me that Peter will only charge me for one day !!! Phoned 5 times during a 2 hour period - 2 times they didn't answer, 2 times a gentleman put me on hold for about 15 minutes and never took my call and the last call someone (after 5 minutes of ringing) hung up on me. Honestly, if i could give this location zero stars i would. Aweful customer service - as simple as that. This is the second time in a row that we tried to rent a vehicle and recieved a call minutes later to tell us they don’t have any available. Even though the online booking says otherwise. Not only is their customer service skills disappointing but their online booking system is flawed as well. This specific experience was extremely disappointing considering that the agent called and said a car wouldn’t be available until 12pm…only to leave out the fact that they CLOSE AT 12pm! We showed up to pick up our vehicle to find the location closed. This lack of professionalism and pure laziness is embarrassing for such a reputable company.

It was all around the worst rental experience I’ve ever had ... the car was messy when we got it and thats just the start. We had issues with the car I was told to exchange it for another one at a different location, upon my arrival the employee was in shorts and tshirt and said that he couldn’t help me i explained everything to him and then told me something opposite then what the staff on the phone told me. He eventually was going to give me an SUV that had front and back bumper damage I told him I didn’t want that on my account. Ended up returning to my original location a day early because my mom potentially has a cancerous tumor and I had to rush to the ER and has been blacking out . When i arrived the employees were telling me that I was gonna have to pay a big bill to return the car like 15 hours early so I had to sit in the car on hold for about an hour and a half which my wife and 6 month old had to wait the entire time for the whole length of the call finally got told it wouldn’t be an extra charge only to find out I returned it and it was cheaper the whole time. So because of how the employees gave me the run around my wife and kid literally we’re stuck waiting for me... I’ve rented several cars from enterprise and Alamo and have amazing experiences I was warned not to use budget but I thought it wouldn’t be that bad only to fined out it really was that bad .... so let down and disappointed and honestly bothered to how I was dealt with and now one wanted to make anything right . Which will lead me to posting on social media to try and explain my story and maybe the media will hear this literally was Chaos . Thanks for hopefully reading this I just wanted someone to hear and listen and be polite and make my time worth it .

Absolutely ridiculous, don't ever rent a vehicle from here. You'll be paying $1000 dollars before you even know it. We rented a vehicle from here and they charged extra for winter tires. This is bc, in the winter, you literally can't drive without winter tires, they should have them already on, and not charge you 1/4 of what winter tires cost to put on IF YOU BUY THEM FOR YOUR OWN CAR. The next charge they gave us was for a chip in the windshield. This wasn't a big rock chip, there wasn't a crack. If you were given 15 minutes i doubt you could even find it because it was so small. Like seriously, it was too small to even repair. So now we're paying $500 to replace a windshield that has no real damage, and we paid for them to have winter tires on. At a time and place where driving without winter tires is literally life threatening. Go anywhere else. Don't get stuck with these guys. They are awful, take my word for it. They will be in your pocket before you even know it.

usually I book with them, the guys are the desk are super nice and helpful. but they are expensive in the summer time, so I did a booking with discount and got screwed over because they cancelled my reservation without telling me (long story). So i run across the street to budget and tell them the story, they hook me up with a vehicle in five minutes, its a premium (they had no other ones) and they even give me a discount. Don't rent from this location! Consider this a warning!!!! They will pad the bill with fake fuel charges. I returned the car FULL knowing what the ridiculous charges are for them to refill at $3.25 per Litre. When i got my Credit card statement there was a fuel charge added. When i requested a copy of the invoice the fuel return box on the receipt was blank, not common practice i've worked at a rental agency before. But the kilometres were there and only driving 200km to and from a funeral. Total of 400km. I know the tank was full because the pump didn't stop once, or twice but three times! Don't rent here!

Horrible experience they placed several holds on multiple cards and held up my funds for my entire trip. Everyone has been unapologetic and not caring about the stress this caused me on my trip to only have 100.00 and an infant and no emergency funds because of Budget placing several holds on 2 different cards I own. The worst customer service I have experienced in my life. I give them zero stars. There should have only been 1 hold but instead it was 3.

I would never, ever recommend renting from this Budget location. On December 9 I went online and prepaid for a rental from December 18-26. Pick up and drop off times were both for 12pm. On December 18 I arrived from Halifax. I went to pick up my rental vehicle, and there was a sign on the door stating "Be back in 20 minutes." Luckily my sister-in-law didn't mind waiting for the clerk to return. When they returned I went in to get the keys for my car. The clerk asked if the rental was prepaid, and asked again twice more before asking for my licence and credit card. She explained that there would be a $350 hold on my credit card. I asked if this was on top of the rental fee, or if it was for a total of $350? She wasn't able to answer this question. She also wasn't able to explain why the hold was going on my card to begin with, but told me to call the 800 number. We went out and did the walk around, and I signed the papers and off I went. When I returned the car on the 26 I arrived at 11:40 and the clerk working that day was outside and informed me he had just closed fo the day (closing time is 12 noon on Saturdays). He asked if he could just email me a copy of the receipt. I told him no, and after discussing with the other clerk (in another language) he unlocked the door and went back inside. He then proceded to argue with me that the car had not been prepaid. I asked for a paper copy of my receipt and left. After checking my credit card statement today, I saw on my statement that I had been charged for the rental a second time. After speaking to both Budget, and my credit card company I will be getting a refund, but not for 3 business days. This is not an acceptable way to run a business.

When I first arrived, there was no line or anyone. I still had to wait to be helped. I asked a women at avis for help and she helped me. The check out was fast, I got the lot number to get the car and it was hard to tell where the exit was to exit the budget rental space. When I got the car, it wasn't clean. I took pictures of the outisde. I totally forget to get some from the inside. I wasn't too disappointed with the car being dirty outisde but then I saw inside. It shows you how well the car was cleaned, I found someone's DIRTY mask in there. So gross. I was so mad. I'm glad I found it and not my kids. The car drove good, will not lie. We kept the car for six days and enjoyed it. When I returned the car, same thing, it was really hard to find the entrance for budget. I had to ask someone. I wanted to speak to someone about me returning it early but I was told to just park the car. I wasn't too please with budget. I don't know how I feel about being a returning customer.

I received a car with low tire pressure, 25 lbs, of which I had to fix. I also had note that said cleaned and sanitized, due to Covid, but dirty coffee cups and lids under the passenger seat. Then the right rear tail lights went out. Budget actually wanted me to drive in on my vacation to exchange the vehicle. That is their job. They should have handled the situation by driving to me to fix the tail light bulb. Driving with no blinker or brake lights is very dangerous. I will never rent from Budget again. Very disappointed.

I've used Budget in the past on several occasions - but the abhorrent service level I experienced today is making me re-think my position. I am cancelling my reservation. I reserved a vehicle to use while mine is being serviced and twice now a promised vehicle that I reserved a week in advance was not available and ready for me and I had to wait more than 30 minutes while they went back to St. Albert to get one. I had the pleasure of renting a vehicle from Gaagaandeep at Budget / Avis, St. Albert location twice. Gaagaandeep is exceptional to deal with. I have not come across anyone as knowledgeable with the fleet as Gaagaandeep, or willing to share and discuss which vehicle would be my best option. Gaagaandeep intensively listened to what I was looking for, all the while managing his telephone and another employee. Gaagaandeep did this with respect, calmness and a smile. I literally asked Gaagaandeep if he was the owner because of his excellent customer service. I look forward to returning to the Tudor Glen location specifically to rent a vehicle because of the excellent customer service Gaagaandeep provides.

I would give 0 stars if that was an option. What a pooly run location!!! The guy running the store, I think his name was Russ, was completely useless and very rude!!! I was embarrassed standing at this kiosk while litterally right next to me, there was a rental place called Enterprise Rental where they were smiling and treating customers the way I would have expected! Even the people at Avis seemed to care more about my well being than this clown! Thanks for making the decision easy for my future rental needs while in the London area. To make matters worse, the car they gave me was dirty, inside and out, and was in desperate need of gas and an oil change!

Terrible experience from this rental location, the only concern for this Budget Branch is to charge customers as much as possible without any consideration for customers convenience. It is clear from previous reviews this Budget location tries to take customers for every penny they can with false rental agreements in hopes customers do not dispute the bill, it is sad when customers have to dispute charges with credit card companies after this Budget location tries to scam customers, it is also sad Budget Corporate allows this to continue. Unlimited mileage means "unlimited mileage" but not to this location, they scam customers. This location tries not to honor signed contracts and nickel and dime customers and when they are approached about customer concerns, the branch and management ignore customers opinions and concerns. I rent cars on a regular basis as well as colleagues from different companies we work with and best advise for anyone is to not rent vehicles from this location. They clearly have no interest in customer satisfaction and make a bad name for Budget Corporate. The amount of time I spent trying to finalize a contract with this location was ridiculous, this location hopes customers will just give up and pay outrageous rates, our people are very disappointed with the service received and it is our fault for going back to this location after the terrible service we receive we received on previous rentals from this same location. The manager could care less about customers concerns, only concern was taking money that does not belong to Budget and the only way to teach this Budget location business is to take them to court. I just noticed a 345.00 late fee on top of 7 weeks rental and outrageous km charge, Budget feels renting vehicles at monthly rates and charging for km's isn't enough they need to grind customers and over charge for extended vehicle rentals. think about that, charge for weekly rental, then charge for additional km's and then charge 345.00 for vehicle late fee when Budget was fortunate enough to keep the vehicle rented after I told the manager at Budget I was keeping vehicle, easy, horrific experience and when you call for assistance they just say "it is what it is" after Budget acknowledged they over charged for km's and could care less about customers.

I have been renting from them over the past year. It has always been the ultimate experience that I am so grateful for! The last time I rented I tried to go for a deal through Hertz. Hertz made an error and couldn't rent me the car there upon my arrival. it was so stressful and I was very sad as I was in desperate need to visit my father in New Brunswick. I called budget/avis and they were able to find me a car last minute, and for near the same price!! Not any car either, I rode in style with a fancy teal Jeep Wrangler!! It really made my day, I was so excited by the whole experience. Reserved my car early and everything was fine, then one day before picking it up they change the class of car I was going to get without a price change. Cancelled immediately.

Every car they gave me was dirty or smelled bad of cigarettes and one had very bad worn tires with warning lights coming on the dashboard! Finally had to settle with a nasty colored car I didn't even want! You should just let the customer pick the vehicle they want in the first place and won't have to go through this unexpectable procedure and ruin their trip before it starts! We will never rent from Budget again!

Budget is really lacking in service and in running their business. We reserved and prepaid for a vehicle yet when we went to pick it up they didn’t have anything even close to what we had paid for. They offered the only vehicle they had left that would have been in a completely different price point.( Elite standard SUV vs a compact suv) roughly a 100-200 rental difference) what do they offer.. 50.00 off...oh and we can call corporate on Monday. Absolutely unacceptable service. not only was the vehicle type chosen specifically for use/ need . We were told to they don’t even carry the type of inventory we reserved. To be honest this is thievery pre paying for one thing and receiving something different. Do not rent from this company

I called about a car rental and the woman who answered was rude and when I asked about them advertising that they take pre paid master card from money mart they said that I was wrong and that they don't do it even tho there advertising said they did, cause why would I call if they were not advertising it, so when I asked to talk to the manger she gets on the phone and said we don't do that and hung up and when I called back she said I was not listening and when I said I wanted to put in a complaint she said I'm the manger and would not let me be put through to the complaint department because I was putting a complaint on her and her staff for being rude to me, I kept asking for the complant department and she said I'll put you through to my head manager department which never went through, and this was all over them advertising pre paid credit through money mart that they were allowed, I called money mart and they said they should and if they didn't then it must be a new company taking over and they needed to contacted there office so they wouldn't advertised it anymore. I would never want to go through this company because of there staff and manager and how they acted I will be filling a complaint with the main company if you want good serves don't go to this budget there people won't do that just because they don't like there job doesn't mean they have to be rude and hang up on someone for questioning there advertising, so stay clear of this place bad business they got I hope the manager is happy with herself because she won't be getting my business or anyone I know

I reserved a car for a long trip went to pick it up no car. Got stuck with a much smaller car with no refund in rental difference. Bad service on the return rude girls with no willingness to help resolve. I then called 800# the first person was great I thought good but then she put me with the next guy and he was terrible. He did finaly give me the refund on the almost 300$ tank of gas i was not supposed to pay for but nothing on the xm I was not supposed to pay for. It was terible

a rubbishy leader of this budget and avis. they rental more than what they have. and you just wait until they find it and missing some important dates. (i was wait for 1 day until i cancelled it)also, they can do nothing and just let you do it buy yourself. They can do nothing that you book from their website. She just said she never use their website and can't refund your money. You have do it by yourself and no car. Please avoid it, that you could have a good experience.!!! better to have discount car company and enterprise. they can pick you up and send you back. Almost waiting for 3 weeks, i still not get my money back. I just call the number they did not give me any useful responses.

(Translated) I reserved a car at budget rock forest. Once there they do not want to leave the car with me unless I take out their own insurance even if I have written and even telephone proof that I am already insured with my personal insurance. They charge me $ 22 / day more which makes the car far too expensive. Result I find myself with three children no car for the holidays because I can not even book elsewhere since it is construction and that all cars are rented everywhere there. The gentleman on the service is rather stupid and not helpful. It really is a place that I do not recommend to anyone. (Original) J'ai réserver une voiture chez budget rock forest. Une fois sur place ils ne veulent pas me laisser la voiture à moins que je prennes leurs propres Assurances même si j'ai la preuve écrite et même téléphonique que je suis deja assurer avec mes assurance personnelle. Ils me chargent 22$/jour de plus ce qui fait que la voiture revient beaucoup trop cher. Résultat je me retrouve avec trois enfants pas de voiture pour les vacances car je ne peux même pas réserver ailleurs puisque c'est la construction et que toutes les voitures sont louées partout l. Le monsieur au service est plutôt bête et non serviable. C'est vraiment une place que je ne recommande pas à personne.

I rented a car for just one day. They charged me twice and the person that works there told me he cannot explain what happened. They are completely disorganised. Don't rent from them, please. Finally, I heard people there complaining too.

Very disappointed, booked the car rental on line and went to pick it up. The address on the web site was not a car rental place, but a store. Finally found the rental place, but it was closed, called the number on the door and got a message giving another number. Called it twice and they told me they were a car detailing place so I gave up...never did get the car rented.... good thing it was not an emergency. Won't try them again would give less than one star if that was possible
