Flight arrived late. Car reserved and prepaid for 12:30am. Arrived at 1am, supposed closing time. Booth locked and closed and dark. Hertz help line was not helpful. Had to rent a car from another rental agent who was open as we're all other rentals. Had to fight for refund. Several people stuck with the same problem. Will not use Hertz again.
The worst car rental experience so far for me: They gave me smaller car (class A) while I requested class B, so we had trouble fitting in our luggage in that tiny Chevrolet Spart Quoted: Amount to be paid at time of rent: 127.92 CAD Invoice: 275.67 CAD I haven't purchased any extras from them and was not advised at the time of rental of any extra charges, they just put rental start 1 day before it actually started and added winter tire charge (never quoted or advised of) of $20 per day. Tried to contact, they say manager is on vacation and will be back in 10 days and nobody else can do anything! Will try contacting again, of course, but so far my advice for all to stay away from that location.
I had an argument with this rental company about gas. They never informed me about returning car filled up with gas but I did it by myself. Of course I spent some gas on the way back but the company rep made me to go to fill up again misled with direction. I was almost late for my plane but the guys tried to charge me unbelievably hi rate just taking an advantage. Now they charged my Visa even higher rate. I'm will call the office with complaints.
I always rent with Hertz except in this location. Several times I have arrived to the airport to find them closed when they are supposed to be open.
The best rental experience ever. Was significantly upgraded and charged the baseline price. Very friendly staff. In and out in no time!

Rented a *lot* of cars recently. This Hertz desk has better cars, better staff and less aggressive pricing tactics than all the others. Cars are consistently clean and well maintained. Having had very varied experience with Avis and the Enterprise/Alamo/National chimera I think I'll stick to Hertz from now on.
The worst place to rent a car. I was charged for a Hyundai car with 5 seats, when I arrived I was given a Chevrolet car with 4 seats only. They refused to give back any cost differences. Never booking from Hertz again.
These guys are very bad, they scammed me with the mileage to charge me extra.
Beware that airport charge of an extra 16% will be added without letting you know upfront. And they will not care. At all. got charged an air conditioning charge in January at minus 20 as well. Should have turned it on.

This is one of the worst places to rent a car ever. I rented a car there and forgot my 300$ headphones in the car when I returned the car. When I contacted the company to tell them of this situation, they lied through there teeth about everything. First they said that they did not know who cleaned the car, then they said the car was rented out and the customer who had the car was not responding to phone calls. When I drove by the lot that night the car was there not being rented. From the management right down to the car cleaners everyone there lied to my face, lied to me over the phone and was dishonest. I have been a Hertz customer for years and have never had worse service.
Small location, no self choice. Poor signage for returns, you have to find a stall then take keys inside. Staff seem a little rushed and under pressure here.
Not impressed. I arrived in Ottawa at 5:30am, waited for Avis to open at 6:30. I am reminded that my rental pickup is downtown by the agent. No problem, my bad. I get downtown to Avis at 8:00 and have an hour to spare for my 9am pickup. The agent tells me that I should be able to pick the car up at 8:30 as they're being delivered. I decide to grab breakfast and then back at 9am. Still no car. Agent informs me that it's coming from the airport!!! I finally get service at 9:10, but waiting outside until 9:35 for them to bring the car up from the garage. The extra appears to be spent washing the car. I do appreciate that, but that should have already been done. I'm a half hour behind schedule now and I could have been ahead if the agent at the airport realized that he could have saved him and I, time and money by JustGiving me the same car there!
Very friendly ladies at the front desk. SUV was clean. Tip: Sign up for Hertz gold to collect points towards free rentals. Recommended.

I’m soooo impressed with Hertz! We had rented a car from Budget for my elderly dad. They wouldn’t except my credit card over the phone or my dads credit card bc it’s a reloadable card-even though it’s from his bank and has his name on it and I double checked with their customer service the day before to make sure that was ok, to which they said it was! The day of rental they said no! They weren’t helpful or sympathetic to our situation at all. I called a Budget closer to my house (bc I’m 2 hours from Ottawa ap) to see if I could pay there and my dad take the car from Ottawa. The guy said no and hung up on me! I then called every single car rental place at Ottawa ap bc my poor father was stranded there. Hertz was the ONLY one that said they would accept his credit card! They were incredibly helpful, kind and budget conscious. Took my dads luggage and loaded it for him and drove the car around so he wouldn’t have to walk. I will forever be grateful. Little did they know, my dad is on his way to meet the daughter (my sister) he gave up for adoption over 40 years ago. Thank you Hertz for helping make this experience happen.
Love renting from these guys, super nice staff, very accommodating and a good selection of vehicles to choose from. I have rented from other car rental companies before but so far this Hertz location has exceeded my expectations.
I liked the 2020 Subaru, but the box of open condoms and loose credit card my kid pulled out of the back seat pouch ruined the chance of me ever using hertz again. The girl at the desk was nice and gave me $64 off my total rental (20%) which was a nice gesture, but this is absolutely unacceptable. Especially during these strange times. Do better Hertz.
Worse place u can ever rent a car, one of the employee called Nada, refused to service us and was completely unprofessional and rude as hell, we booked the car with unlimited mileage but when we got to the counter she refuse to give us unlimited mileage and I was going on a road trip for thanks giving with the family with 2 litle babies and plus being pregnant, we waited 3hour untill the head office forced her to give us the car we reserved, people like her don't belong on the front desk, if it was my company i would fire her but when I returned the car the other guys who was there cancelled all the extra charges that Nada was going to charge and I really appreciate that. But if u want good service this place is not the one they will ruin ur day.

Call them twice in a row and they answered and immediately hung up on me. I always use Enterprise as I never have problems. Only using Hertz because of a company discount. Operator on phone said one thing, but on location said another thing, thus causing an hour delay after a 5 hour flight.
Bad experience. Horrible customer service, they don't even show you to the car or let you know the total of the vehicle etc. No details what so ever. Manager is rude and unhelpful. Bad locations, bad service.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced!!! The guy supposedly named "peter" was the rudest employee I have ever encountered from any place I have shopped at or went to...sometime u have to bend the rules to please a customer so u don't loose their business & he didn't care one bit...we were stranded their & he told us he didn't care if we had to sleep on the streets (to make a long story short)
I was overcharged and now I am struggling to get my money back. I spoke to different agent there and they are all careless. MY LESSON LEARNED : You should NEVER let them swipe your credit card. You should INSTEAD enter yourself your PIN so you know the amount of money getting out of your account.
Worst experience ever! Do not ever rent a car from Hertz !!! We had a mechanical difficulty which was reported immediately. We set up an appointment with the location twice to pick up the car but they did no show up. Few week later , I received a call from the branch . He told me that the reason for the mechanical issue Is that I put diesel in the car instead of gas!!!!! I have been driving more than 30 years and knew what I was doing!! When I told them that this was impossible he told me that I signed the rental agreement and that they have the power the collect the money even if I didn’t do anything. Anyways, they asked for $ 600 in damages. The evidence against me was that the mechanic smelled the diesel and the fact that he SUSPECTED !! that I filled the car with it. It seems that the human sense of smell in a garage and the mechanics suspecion was the foundation of the claim against me. We then received a second letter. Which indicated that they found a dent on the side of the car. This did not happen. They then asked for another &1364.94 and this time their evidence against me was a picture they took two weeks after. I am sure we all agree that anything could happen to a car during a two week period. I have asked the manager why he didn’t report the problem immediately if it really existed. And why he didn’t document the damage immediately ? I did not received a answer. They accused me of giving my car to an unauthorized second drive to make me stop questioning them and pay the money!!!! My question was very clear. Why is there a claim about a damage when the car was not in our possession. Any ways, I was threaten that they will report to credit baritone if I question why I have to pay almost $1364.94 I complained to the Hertz claim, their Customer relation and Hertz customer service . Still there has been no reply!!!!

I've rented for this location 2 times going on 3 and I've always had excellent service. The staff friendly, prompt and professional, the vehicles are cleaner then any other location I've visited. I just called with regards to my upcoming reservation and spoke with Robert Wright who was extremely helpful! Highly recommend
Left me stranded with a toddler and infant when the car they rented me had total mechanical break down and they told me to figure it out myself - including towing their car 300km back to them! Spent literally 6 hours on the phone seeking resolution with very bad customer service from both 1-800 and local location. 24 hours later they finally got me a replacement car. No apology no partial refund for an awful situation. Manager did not return my calls or messages to resolve. Hertz corporate says there is nothing they can do. Beware of this franchise location!
