this is the place to go for affordable car rentals! Very friendly staff, clean and up to date cars. Loved the service and amazingly I could drop the off at any of their locations without any further charges! Rented a Kia Soul from a kind Indian gentleman and he was very friendly. I called ahead as I needed a vehicle earlier than my reservation time and he was able to accommodate. The experience was quick and easy. Their garage door was unable to open at the time so I opted to take an unclean vehicle (I really did not mind..) When I arrived at Pearson Airport in Toronto for drop off the man that was working at the Hertz returns said to me that his notes said that I was to return the car with full gas. I mentioned to him the situation but he let me know to just contact the location I rented from. Once I had landed in Calgary I contacted this particularly location and I spoke with a young Indian woman. She was very apologetic and helpful. She said that the gas charge will be reimbursed on my card in 10-15 days. It so far has not been reimbursed but it hasn’t been very many days yet. I would definitely recommend this location again.

Van was great. But. I reserved online and the pick up location couldn't access it. So i booked through them, paid the local office, and when I returned the van after hours, i had to close out my original reservation. And was billed for the full cost of the rental. Again. Still sorting it out with Hertz. But the van was large, good payload, decent fuel economy. But seriously. Booking a six hour rental, returning after hours, being billed for two days. Twice. ????????????????

I feel bad to give a single star but I can say anyone who visit here to rent a car will not give more than a star. If you reserve a car online and expect your car to be ready by the time you pay a visit to pickup the vehicle, be ready to disappoint, because definitely the car you booked won’t be available. Here this place is combined thing of Hertz car rental and Thrifty car rental. If you book a car in Hertz or Thrifty for some less rental online, here you will be forced to take another car with high amount of rental in the last minute. Once you get in there, you won’t have a option of selecting your desired one from the available. More over the response of those guys working there is really irresponsible and rude. I’ll never suggest anyone to this. Better take a bus than this, you will be left with peace of mind instead of leaving the place with disturbed mind. The manager(Warren's) behaviour was distasteful , ignorant and not anything like what it should be with clients. He tries to confuse you with the prices over the phone, only so he can charge you more when you come to book in person. This guy is a disgrace for Hertz, who actually have pretty good cars at grear rates. Avoiding them for future rentals as long as this guy is working there.

love this place, this is my 5th time renting a car with them, i usually get the same make of car and warren the manager is super nice to me there, knows me by name every time i enter and even when i call. i have a rental with them this December already booked. would recommend this to anyone. when they didn't have a car for me that morning they drove me personally to the airport and got me another one to my liking, thank you again for you warm and inviting services!

Warren was great for 1st couple of rental but after a while seems like he was trying to rob me and my friends..... Claimed money for 3 whole days when we were late by 6 hours only,there were huge communication gap and always he used to say he would cover those days within next rental offer! Worst experience ever.If you don't want to be harassed, avoid this place. The manager WARREN is the worst person to deal with. He might charge you extra on top of fare and blackmail you with the vehicle in lots of different ways. I took rental from Hertz 2 times ,and both times I had incredibly bitter experience, I filed online complaint to Hertz website and afterwards they gave me half of the amount they overcharged as refund. I also saw him harassing another client right infront of me. Last time he was trying to overcharge me 200$ by saying he found cigarette ash in the car where all of us were non smokers and there was no way possible there could be cigarette ash inside the car.However, I gathered 3-4 other clients and asked them if they could find any smell or traces of smoke inside, nobody did, not even his own employee. So, he had to take that charge off. that's how he will cut your pocket off!! Be aware!!

I went to the Hertz location (460 York St, London, ON N6B 1R2) to collect the car at 10 am. The booking was for 4 days and I had planned everything around the pick up time (we were a group of 8 friends and had to leave the city by 11 am). When I arrived at the location, the Hertz rep told me that he had no vehicles available and it was already 10:15 am. He did not notify me about this beforehand and I tried calling the location 3-4 times around 9 and 9:30 am to confirm but he did not pick up the phone (busy with other customers at the time). This was a disappointing experience and I had to quickly find alternatives which delayed our leaving time to 1 pm. Please do not take online reservations if you have limited availability, it can really disrupt someone's trip.

I am sorry to share my experience. this one star is not for their cars and location. Its on a good location and they always have pretty good cars. I rented cars from many place but the customer service person here (Warren)(Except him the other person is pretty nice) is the worst person i have ever met. This guy will always say you about good deals on the phone and will say you don't need to book now and come and book while you pick up. But by that time the price will go high and this guy will refuse to give you the same price he promised on the phone. I am again sorry to write this, but this is the third time i faced it. He will say you that you can drop off on different location, but don't believe his words. As his phone conversations re not recorded so he will always escape. After saying all these today he was mocking me and laughing at my face. When i opposed him to do so, he literally threatened me to call someone and asked me to leave the place. So i did. As a gold customer from hertz, this is very much humiliating. If you visit this location, please talk to any other service person then warren. Others are pretty nice and well behaved.Thank you.

I am not first rented a car here, the original owner is a very good businessman. However, the store is now being replaced by a new owner and hired some rogue character. My credit card was maliciously deducted money! Believe me, these people are shameless rogue! Can not be trusted! If you do not want to return the car by their malicious excuse to buckle your money! We stopped here with our vehicle that we had rented in onother city as the dashboard had a low tire pressure light on. The person at the Hertz sent us across the road to a repair shop, where the repair man then checked the tires and decided the tread was two thin and all 4 tires needed replaced. He ( The repair man ) went back into his office to call Hertz and see if he could get permission to replace all 4 tires.... We were told by another employee in the meantime to move our vehicle as it was in the way About 45 minutes later he comes back to tell us that they ( Hertx ) would not replace the tires. It seemed like the Hertz rental office and the Garage where in on trying to do something ( that is just our impression ) They put air in the tires, and we drove all the way to Montreal and back with no further incidents and that was all the car needed apparently was air in the tire. We lost about 2 hours travel time by having to drive back to the rental spot and we could have been gone in 5 minutes if they had just put air in the tire.

We reserved a car on December 29 for today at 7:30am. The website, google information and 1-800 number all confirmed they open at 7:30am. We showed up and no one was there. We waited until 7:55 and no one showed up. We went to enterprise and thankfully they were helpful and able to accommodate us so family could get on the road for a medical appointment. We finally got through to someone at 8:15 only to be told they open at 8am. If they open at 8am, why are you able to reserve a car for 7:30? Why weren’t we called to change the reservation last week if it was incorrect? Absolutely terrible customer service.

I have rented lots of cars from different car rentals, but never had this type of unpleasant experience. I will never back to Hertz London ontario branch. The branch manager treated me the worse. Gave me a car which was stinky and after informing this, he did nothing. when I took the car the fuel gauge was near full and at time of returning I filled it even more than that, still he overcharged me telling the gas was not enough. He will leave no stones unturned to overcharge you.He has a very rough behaviour and a disgusting attitide. My 2 cents, Don't go there even if you have a good deal on website, you will end up losing more money anyways. just Horrible!

Called the Hertz company phone number to ask questions regarding bringing a dog along. Was told it was OK. The vehicle provided was neat and clean. We went on our trip, using seat covers and blankets in the back to minimize hair. After our trip we used hair rollers and vacuumed the whole vehicle. During inspection, we were told we would have to pay a $300 cleaning fee because we had brought a dog. They told us a little angrily about this and laughed us off when we tried to explain what the call centre told us. They told us it "doesn't matter" what the call centre said, because they are the renters. They acknowledged our effort cleaning but said it still smelled like dog. They ended up being nice and bringing the cleaning fee down to $100. Still, a disappointing outcome. We will definitely look elsewhere when renting.

Reserved a few cars more than few times they straight up said no to our faces and declined our reservations for no reason. She was the manager of the location. She said I m the manager I have the authority to cancel any reservation any time for no reason. All this happened just because I was a different race. I don’t think anyone should be renting from this location because the service we got a few times was horrible and I wouldn’t want anyone going thru that. Do yourself a favour rent from different location it’s cheaper, better service, faster and no hidden fees. 1. Poor service 2. Rude manager(the girl) 3. Nice car but that is the only nice thing about Hertz on York St.. I personally will never rent from them again. I booked online on priceline from Friday to Sunday and when I arrived was told since the store isn't open Sunday will be charged a extra day. I didnt rent the car until Monday nor did I need it until Monday . Warren the man "incharge" lol stated this is the policy and it states this on the website but not on priceline website! Then went on to stay we wouldn't be able to do a walk around if they are closed! I told him I was dropping the car off Sunday regardless as that what fits with my schedule in the key drop off box they have ( obviously for a reason) and we wont do the walk around regardless. Warren then stated they wouldn't know if I dropped the car off if they were closed , well if the car is there monday morning then it was dropped off sunday . Like is Hertz really watching down to the hour when they are closed and can't rent the car out anyways? I have never had this experience as I rent cars very often with Enterprise and Avis and when they are closed I'm never charged a extra day. Needless to say I had 2 more reservations which I canceled and they lose a potential long term customer, for 25$ ( which I paid) Not to mention Warren has no communication skills what so ever and he is very unprofessional. Dont rent from here spend the $10 extra dollars with enterprise and be treated properly and not like your just money!!

That is really a bad experience!! On the phone, they said there is no under age fee for university students. But when we arrive to pick up the car, they charge us under age fee $25 a day without any negotiation.

Didn't get the class vehicle I booked. Gave me instead the option to get a Hertz Membership! Doubled the cost per day if you wanted to extend the rental. Outrageous! No other car rental does this. Terrible business policy and customer gouging. Not hard to see why Hertz is losing credibility.
