They were quick in giving me my car and quick when I returned it. There were two shuttles to airport. We waited a little bit but that was natural. I think they have a very good and fast system. Even though I returned the car a little dirty, they did not charge me any extra. I am 100% satisfied with them. I will definitely rent again from E-Z car rentals at this location. They were great. Thank you very much!

Lots of hidden conditions; it turns out they don't offer competitive rentals; no information on potential additional costs. Unlimited km is written on booking websites, they don't tell you anything when renting the car, but when returning the car, they explain to you that you're limited to 200km a day - it's written in the conditions, not in the first one, in a second condition mentioned a few paragraphs later. Go to another car rental website, which is not playing the words, applies competitive conditions, and don't tell you at the last minute that there are additional costs for about ... everything!

CHEATERS!!!! I went as per my booking time. 1. They say I need to buy their insurance even though I had insurance on my card. 2. Kilometer limit is 200 per day 3. I will be charged more for some or the other reason. The guy next to me returned his car. To his bill of $72, he was being charged $621. Thats insane!!!! That shocked me and I did not take the car. I lost $40 for my 2 day booking.

Saw these reviews too late. My fault. Bad experience. Punished with more insurance because I didn't use my Gold credit card. Shuttle driver actually answered his cell phone with a van full of clients. Was so happy to return the car. Never again.

Terrible. Online I felt like this place presented like it was AT the airport, indeed not. The shuttle had broken seatbelts and was dirty, it took me(and my children) over 2.5 hours from landing to when we were finally able to drive away. The charged amount was far higher than what I thought I had agreed to online AND they took a photo of my credit card and now I am dealing with fraudulent charge issues as my credit card number was keyed in to make another purchase over a month later. This place is the awful gift that keeps on giving.

One of the worst car rental experiences ever. Initially the manager was going to rent a car (CRV) that had the service light on, because "no worries, we do our own service." After I refused, I was provided with a Hyundai Santa Fei. I give it a 1 star because after returning the car, the staff told us to wait outside for the shuttle, when there was absolutely no shuttle at all! We had to go back in to complain about it for the staff to drive us to the airport. For that I almost missed the flight. They obviously knew we were waiting for the shuttle, and they just let us stood there for 20+ min for absolutely nothing. Unbelievable. This place certainly deserves its poor ratings.

Stay away at all costs....they force you to buy coverage even if your own car insurance covers it...unless you can prove it with the insurance details. Who carries that around. Had to wait 45min for my car and it was dirty. They didn't even wash the top of the car. I wanted to change my rental to a few days less and they said you cant. shady place.....dont let them ruin you vacation.

MUST READ, NEVER EVER GO HERE. SCAMMERS SCAMMERS SCAMMERS The absolute worst place ever, I wish I could give it zero stars. First they force you to buy their horrible insurance for $30 a day with a $1250 deductible. On top of that they ask for a $500 deposit they claim is for tickets and 407 charges. Now it's been about two weeks, had a small crack in the bumper from someone backing into it and I'm getting a run around on trying to receive any information on how the claim is going and if I can get some money back. Oh yeah still haven't gotten the $500 deposit back either, had no tickets and didn't go on the 407. On top of that the car came with an 1/8 tank of gas, no windshield washer fluid and no ice scraper. Plus I waited over a half hour at the pickup location that is literally a 4min drive. NEVER EVER GO HERE. SCAMMERS SCAMMERS SCAMMERS

Pick up of rental car was fairly easy for me. The line was really long, but other than that it went ok. I could see alot of other customers in the building that were not having a good time dealing with this company. Drop off of the vehicle has turned into an absolute nightmare as I was dropping off in another city. The place for drop off wasn't a 24hr place, and not on airport grounds. The representative from the rental company advised me to park the car in any of the airport parking lots, leave the keys under the sun visor, and leave the ticket to pay for parking in the vehicle and they will pick it up and pay the parking. Two weeks later they phone me and ask why I haven't returned the vehicle to their place. I had taken pictures of where I parked the car in the airport parkade, so they told me to send the pictures to a certain email address. I sent the pictures off, and they don't even entertain a response to my email. The next day I have to jump through hoops to try and get a hold of someone there, and they advised me that they had not seen any pictures yet. This company is an absolute disaster, I will never rent from them again. I would give 0 stars but that is an option. I may upgrade this to a 2 or 3 star depending on how the pick up of the vehicle ends up

I was a little worried based on all the poor reviews, but honestly the entire car rental experience was perfectly fine. Got a brand new Hyundai Elantra that was spotless and had just 3,000km (basically zero). Check in and drop off took less than 5 minutes. The shuttle from the airport mono rail was a little slow, but you can Uber for about $6 as it's about a 3min drive. Best of all the rental was literally half the price of everything else on Expedia. Would rent again for sure.

Terrible place. NEVER BOOK WITH THIS PLACE! 1. The place isnt connected to the airport so we had to take a provided shuttle. Reasonable, but the shuttle took way to long to come pick us up. 2. THEY LITERALLY SCAM PEOPLE. There are premade scratches made near the bottom of some cars and when you return your car, they go right to the scratch and say you made it. We know this is true because we talked to 2 other people at the rental center and they had the same thing happen to them. 3. It takes so long to return your car. It literally took an hour and we almost missed our flight. 4. Customer service is disrespectful. We were waiting to return our car and were talking to the employees. Someone out of no where butts in and starts talking to the employee, and instead of telling that person to wait, she starts talking to her instead of us. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM! DO NOT RENT FROM THEM UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET CHARGED EXTRA FEES, MISS YOUR FLIGHT AND GAVE A BAD EXPERIENCE. EVERYTHING ABOVE IS FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH THIS COMPANY!

Easy Rent Car is a habitual scam company. First, the first day I rented a car, there was a rock in the tire, so I had to pay for the replacement. They did not acknowledge their carelessness. Second, on the return date of the rental car, he asked for $300 for the replacement of the tire, and threatened to pay $700 for showing the terms and conditions that he had not shown before. The reason is that we drove from Toronto to Montreal and Quebec for a long time. Clearly, the priceline marked unlimited operation and suddenly demanded payment of more than $700 in Toronto. The Easy Rent Car Company is a place where tourists swindle.

Worst experience ever! This business should not be allowed to continue there practice of misleading , overcharging and flat out bulling their customer! They charged me additional fee for toll and administration fees for processing those fees! They charged my credit card after the payment for the car had already gone thru. They charged the credit card additional fee after everything was processed as they kept a 800dollar deposit fee! For a 3 day rental for 260 I ended up paying 500 dollars! This is a rip off! I Will report this to competition bureau of Canada!!

Avoid it at all costs! Avoid, avoid avoid. 1) they hooked me up with 12$/day for an SUV, I ended up paying 166$ for 36 hours. Unreasonable pricing of taxes & fees. Insurance price for 1 day, equals a month of car insurance price in Canada. Such charlatans. 2) this is an off airport rental car. They do not have shuttles going back & force. You need to get to the pick up area then call them to send someone to pick you up. How the heck should people know this without instruction? Would it kill your company to send an email without more advertisements & some simple instructions? Poor service. Only to blame myself for not reading reviews before booking.

Good enough. The offices were dirty/dingy but the car was clean, service was good (albeit slow), and the new honda civic and in decent shape. Also, fair warning, you get 200km/day on your rentals or you get charged by the km -- that was not clear when i booked online.

Reserved SUV, but was said no SUV available, and staff were totally not responsible. Waited shuttle for 30 minutes for just 1 minute shuttle drive distance! They never care your urgency! Worst when return. Found other customers were upset because they said no SUV.(same as they did for me. I can't find any other word than they are inveterate!!!!). Minimum one star is too much for them. Never believe the price and the information on website.

THESE ARE THIEVES!!! They made you buy the so-called comprehensive insurance when I rented a car from them. Upon return of the car, they “found” a mark on the underside of the bumper. They said the comprehensive insurance was not meant to cover that. Then they said you can file the claim to VISA. They demanded a $800 deposit for the damage. They promised to refund the $800 as soon as we gave them the claim number from VISA. Now we gave them the claim number more than 6 weeks ago. When we called for the refund, they further asked us to claim it back from VISA and refused to return the deposit. I think when happened was: (1) there was NEVER any comprehensive insurance – they just pocketed the premium without doing anything (2) they always could “find” some scratch in the inconspicuous areas of the car (3) They make you pay for the damage knowing you have a flight to catch, so they are double-dipping both the insurance premium and the damage (4) They promise to refund the deposit but never intended to keep that promise. This could be a case of criminal fraud. I will certainly report to the police if I live in Toronto. I live 400 miles away in Vancouver with very little option. They operate under several names: Fox rent a car, E-Z rent a car, GHT Cars – thieves just the same.

Do not rent car from here! Extremely unprofessional. Also inconvenient because they are not located at the airport. You will have to wait a ridiculously long amount of time to receive a car. They have a lot of HIDDEN fees...a bunch! And they charged us $500 for a scratch we didn't do. Do not go here! You will be sorry. EZ rental (Trans Canada Car Rental) is TERRIBLE! NOTHING WAS AS ADVERTISED OR CONFIRMED ONLINE OR BY PHONE! I and more than 8 other people waiting about an hour, far from the airport were very disappointed. Expedia and EZ Rental both confirmed I had an Ford Edge Standard SUV with GPS, wifi, insurance included, & more, but... EZ company staff didn't have any of these!! No SUVs! No GPS equipment! No wifi equipment! Insurance was also a mandatory additional surcharge! The best "SUV" car EZ rental (Trans Canada Car Rental) had was a Hyundai Sonata that had both NO GPS, NO WIFI & NO INSURANCE options as promised in online reservations or by telephone conversation confirmation with Mr EShon. The rental company also charged me $111 for "airport surcharge" but there was nothing at the airport but an old phone hidden on the far side of the terminal (after taking a train out of the airport) to call for a taxi van that after a very long trek to find, and long wait, eventually drives you to the rental car location. My email & phone verbal confirmations showed: "CAD 814.15 at pick-up for Standard SUV: Ford Edge or similar -including GPS, collision damage plan insurance, wifi, & extra driver ($729.53US) Special Request: navigational system, Additional driver. Collision Protection. You have purchased the Collision Damage Plan." I'm not returning to this company & suggest everyone avoid it. Avis, Dollar, Enterprise, etc that are actually within the airport must be better and less fraudulent- providing what you actually reserve.

It's not in the airport. You would have to take a train and a shuttle bus to it's off site location. Then the big problem starts... they will force you to buy multiples insurance. Then they'll inform you that they have a mandatory insurance for about 12 dollars a day and if you try to cancel is a 50 dollar cancellation fee. Only a few types of cars ,to be exact it's 4 vehicles and the location is gross, dirty an updated, feels like it have not been renovated since the 60s. I definitely stay away from this place.

The online ad is a hoax, it is not so cheap because they have hidden charges and once you have signed the agreement documents you can no longer cancel it, so you must pay a higher balance than online advertising. Bad customer service and rude people at the reception. I waited for the shuttle service an hour and a half at Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ) after had calling several times. If you go there, it is at your own risk.

Worst rental experience ever! I would give it a zero if possible. Waited at the airport for about 35 min for the shuttle. The ride was 3 min to the location. Then almost 2 hours for a car. The car had a crash, not a dent, from the side of the trunk to the back door. Looks to be a bit old, the metal is rusting. Took the car just to get out of there. I was also tired of hearing the multiple complaints from other customers. I even heard the clerk tell a costumer, that it does not matter of he takes the car or not, his card will still be charged the full amount. I have a high tolerance for errors. So this was just the limit.

Upon arrival at Pearson Airport, I called the provided number for the shuttle pickup to the car rental. After numerous attempts, it became apparent that their phone system/menu system was not working properly. Had a to take a cab to the car rental. Front desk staff were not particularly friendly. The rental car was parked behind the building with very tight spacing between the other cars and the building. As soon as we get in the car, they're asking us to move it out of their way. Almost seems like a setup. And to top it all off, our car was immediately giving us low tire pressure warnings. Nice...

This has to be the worst rental agency I've ever had to deal with. The rental building is no where near arrivals/departures and the shuttle service they somewhat provide, is unreliable and it's very easy to miss your flight. I just made it by panicing and running through the airport. The car was filthy, it stunk and they charge for all sorts of random stuff. No manners, they lie to you and when I finally got a shuttle the driver smelled awful, the passengers were almost sick. If I could give these guys a zero I would. Don't rent here.

*****UPDATED REVIEW!**** After previously leaving a ‘rave’ review for this business, I feel terrible for anyone whom that may have influenced in renting from this horrible company! Initially, yes I got a great car, it was clean and I was very happy with it. The staff was indeed friendly and it looked like everything was great... at first... I was from another province where, although we do have one remote section of toll road, you pay that toll to a person in a booth when you enter or exit the road. I knew nothing about toll roads around Toronto. When I returned the car, I was worried about all the toll signs I’d seen and thought I may have accidentally taken a wrong ramp once and wound up on one, which I got off again at the next off ramp. The man who checked in my car when I returned it told me not to worry about it. If I’d been on a toll road they would’ve known becaus they get a notice. I assured him I would simply pay any tolls owing, he insisted not to worry about it. Almost three months later I received an email from them saying they’d already charged my card an additional $74 because I’d been on the toll road twice. They sent me a copy from the department that sends the report. The car I’d been driving had been on the toll road twice, the tolls owing we’re a total of $4.65, including an admin fee. Yet I was charged $74 in spite of asking the staff about it and being told not to worry about it. No wonder they told me not to worry about it, they knew they were going to go behind me and charge extra. I called to see about straightening it out, they were rude, and insulting on the phone and simply said he fine print said there would be an additional ‘administrative’ cost if they received notice after the rental that there were unpaid tolls. No wonder the rentals are so cheap! If you’re from out of town you have no idea and even if you ask them, they purposely mislead you so they can make more when you leave! Not to mention, they even told me afterward it was my own fault because if I’d wanted to, I could’ve called the department of transportation to pay them directly if any tolls were owing. I called the department to inquire only to be informed they couldn’t discuss it because I was not on the account. This business has VERY shady business practices. They’re making a fourtune, not from renting cars, but from charging outrageous admin fees when they use your credit card months after you rent a car , to charge for tolls and the like, instead of putting a transponder in each car, or at the very least, warn out of town people and have a way for people to simply pay for the tolls when they return the car. I would never recommend this company and I’m sorry for anyone who read my previous mistakenly positive review! P.S. I tried to leave zero stars but it wouldn’t post unless at least one was clicked, but they don’t even deserve one.

I waited at Viscount for 30 mins before their van came to pick me up. Upon reaching there 2 customers were given different reasons for not giving them a car. When I reached the desk I was told we have no cars and you have to wait 30 to 45 mins. Upon asking the other 2 customers what was the reason they did not get their car... One was because he was late & the other was because he was too early!!! These guys are cheap but they are conmen.... Its better you pay few bucks more & be at peace of mind. God forbid you have an accident they will squeeze out every penny from you. I have rented cars from them before and they are very untidy & don't even give a snow cleaning brush. On top of that they are very rude!!!! It's clear they only care about money & nothing else.

Worst car rental ever. Worst customer service. Worst shuttle service (1 hour for pickup). Shuttle was driving 90 on a 60 speed zone not caring about riders. Never stopped on a stop sign. Very dirty and unprepared vehicle. Empty washer fluid. The guy who rented me the car had the worst attitude ever. Very unprofessional. He wanted me to sign documents without reading and he got mad when I asked about what I was signing. Don’t rent from here even if the price is lower because you will pay for it later.

I was very satisfied with this company. You know up front that you have to take the airport train to Viscount, one every few minutes, once you get to the station you call for pickup and that was only 10 minute wait. The directions are printed clearly on your reservation and easy to folliw. Checkin was fast, my car was clean. The gentleman that helped me was very courteous. Returning the car was fast and efficient as well and they dropped me off at terminal one for departure. I will definitely rent a car from them in the future. Side note: I dont usually ever write reviews but they went above and beyond for me and deserve a good review.

We had a negative experience renting from E-Z and will never rent from them again nor would we recommend it. Although they appear to rent at the lowest cost, once all of the hidden costs are added (including the insurance which was unclear and ended up being much more than what we were told at first), they end up being more expensive than some others. They were not transparent. We were initially offered a 5% discount for leaving a good review on Google on the spot (which we declined due to questionable things at check-out), before we were told the final costs. And the details of the final cost would not be given until we ran the credit card. Also, they are not located at the airport rental car section but have to take a link train to another station and from there take a shuttle to the rental car desk (which seems to be a front desk for several businesses including a hotel).

Worst car rental company ever. They dont tell you hidden charges. I booked car for $110 but they charged be $600 bill. when I called them, guy was very rude and literally screaming at me. After long time he reduced only $30. Imagine amount difference where is $110 and $600. If anyone wants to ruin their trip, go with this company. I bet people giving 5 star review are fake or their own people.

If i could award 0 stars I would. It took me over an hour to pick up my car, meanwhile several other customers had come and gone between that time. The customer service was absolutely atrocious. The car smelled AWFUL of super cheap cologne. I rented the car for 1 day, and had to use to toll route. When I asked the man at the front desk about it, he said i would only be charged for the toll itself. 3 months later notice on my credit card statement there's a $90 charge for that. They added on a $50 "administration fee". Meanwhile, after looking at the toll route statement they sent me, the tolls i took only amount to $14.27. How on earth does that equal $90??? After trying to contact the car company on several occasions (2 phonecalls, 3 emails), no one responded to my inquiry. This is the worst car rental company I've ever dealt with. I will be informing anyone and everyone who's renting a car in Toronto to stay FAR away from this place. Worst car company. Worst customer service. How are these people still in business!?!?!?!!?

i booked a car to this company at $474.00 for 11 days and unlimited mileage. So i told them that i will cross the border for 1 day and they told me that it’s fine you just gonna pay $15.00 per day and i have a 2500KM allowance per month to cross the border. So i cross the border for 1 day only from Niagara Fall Canada to Buffalo NY and back to Canada later that day. I return the car today and then i was surprised that instead of $474.00 plus the $15.00 border cross. The guy “Indian” charge me $668.00. So i asked how come? he told me that there’s a charge for crossing the border that eventhough i didnt spent that 2500km allowance you still going to pay for the extra. I told the guy that i only use like 200km back and forth and i spent only 1 day in U.S! But still they charge me almost $200.00 difference. They didnt even told me that there’s gonna be like that kind of charge. I only knew the $15.00 per day. Don’t book a car rental to this company. They are BOGUS!!!! FAKE!!! They have a hidden fees that they gonna surprise when you return the car! I regret that i booked my car rental in here! Please stay away to this company! Dont deal with them!!.

Horrible. Paid $132 for a rental for 2 days. How??? Base price was $18 a day. Had the comprehensive coverage which i didnt even recall signing up for and $10 a day for additional driver. Add the taxes etc. How does that equal $132?? Thieves.

By far the worst car rental experience to date. It was so bad that i do not think i will be renting another vehicle again.I had contacted the company prior to arrival and was assured by the agent that my vehicle would be ready to go. Customer service was so horrifying that a senior staff member had to intervene. BEWARE: On Expedia it stated "unlimited kilometers" however once we told them that we would be going to Quebec this is when the additional charges started to pile on. The catch is that it is unlimited only in Ontario.We were pretty much left in an unfortunate situation and pretty much were forced to purchase additional kms. No empathy was provided by the agent what so ever. He even had the nerve to crack a smile while he explained the policy. Finally when we received the vehicle almost 1 hour later. The trunk would not open. Forty five minutes and 3 senior staff later they finally figured out how to open/close the trunk. Finally we were on our way and guess what?The tank was almost empty. The name of this shady company is very ironic as the process was not EZ at all. Fool me once shame on you,fool me twice shame on me. Never again

Don’t go here. Rather rent it thru franchise company than this mom and pop owner. I reserved a car in 2 weeks advanced. When i got there after 2 hours of delay due to flight delay to pick up, they said you are 2 hours late and we don’t guarantee hold. Basically at 11:00 PM I got stuck with no car with my family. I requested very politely that I came from all the way from USA and this has never happened to me even in Europe or other countries. I have reserved it with credit card and I should get the car. anyways, they bluntly said sorry we don’t have anything available now. There was no written policy of 2 hours delay and you won’t get car anywhere.

Do not rent from this place. The car was great, brand new. HOWEVER, if you do decide to rent from them, make sure you do a VERY THOROUGH inspection around the car before you drive away. They will blame you for ANYTHING they find upon the return of the car and threaten you if you do not accept the charge. The inspection is very high level when you pick the car up, but very thorough on the way back. They will always find something and take advantage of your insurance - hopefully you have one - to fix any problem with the car even if you have nothing to do with it. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

it is a disgusting car rental company. I was rent a car in June 2018 , crack on wind shield glass, I did claimed, they still charge me 750 dollars for deposit, they said when the insurance company send money to them , they will refund my deposit. my insurance company already pay to them, and they still not refund my deposit. They are disgusting! Really bad company! You don’t want to lose your money! Don’t go there for rent!

The worst service ever!! The phone number was not working, waited for nearly 2 hours for the shuttle to pick up from Viscount Station, and their mandatory insurance prices are 3 times higher than others. Then waited another hour to get a car that does not match your booking.... Staffs were rude, unhelpful.... just ruined your days, your vacation and everything!

Do NOT rent from this place! They do not disclose any "fine print" details and MAKE you buy their "Damage and Bodily harm" insurance and make you believe you have no other choice! We were later informed that we did NOT have to purchase this because we may have been covered under our own insurance policy but only upon the final processing of our card. We then asked that if we were covered and forwarded them thr policy if we would get a refund and the guy looked up at us and said "NO" and his reasoning was because we had already rented and returned the vehicle. Just another rental company looking to make a buck by lying. NO customer service or "Going the extra mile" for their customers. We come to the Toronto often and this was our first time renting from E-Z Car and will certainly be our last. Consumer...be aware!

Worst rental car experience ever. I rented full size SUV then they gave me Nissan Rogue which is a compact SUV. No discount or price adjustment. They are sty advertising full size SUV but they don’t have it. They are trying to fish people and just to charge more.

This place deserves 0 stars, 1.5 hours for the shuttle to get me... states right in my reservation that I can pay with debit with proof of round trip. I called 3 days in advance to ensure I could use debit Visa, get to the rental place and the guy refused to obtain my Mastercard information on file and pay my deposit with debit... called for the shuttle to pick me up before even trying to work with me... absolutely terrible service and stuck at the airport at 12am till I can find someone to pick me up.... definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND

Worst rental ever. They trick you in any way possible. They made me buy insurance although my credit card has rental car insurance. Then they gave me a car with empty fuel (yes you can return it empty but chances are you will return it with some fuel left in it. Fuel that they stole from you). The first car that try gave me was DAMAGED so I had to return and exchange it. They gave me a lower class vehicle for exchange. The office has no ramp for luggage have to pick up your luggage. Just don't. We picked it up and it had no gas and a lot of scratches, paint chips and dents. They hid from us the fact that we had a 200km/day limit until the last minute. We were told to take pictures of any damage before we left the lot only to be told when we returned the car that we were supposed to fill out an inspection sheet. We got charged for smoking in the car when we didn't plus a late fee when we had tried calling multiple times to extend. Our $104 original price went up to $384 by the end. I absolutely do not recommend. Go anywhere else and make sure you read the reviews before you rent anywhere

Most importantly this place moved locations without telling us, so when we came to return the car at the address they’d given us, the business wasn’t there. When we tried to call the phone number on our confirmation email, it was for a hotel. Had to drive around and find the place ourselves since they’d picked us up in a shuttle from the airport. The staff was rude, the car was old, it only came with a 1/4 tank of gas so we had to fill it right away ourselves, and their insurance was wildly expensive. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE, IT IS NOT WORTH IT. Go to Budget or Enterprise or any legitimate, reputable brand. Trust me.

This would be a very good car rental if everything they posted online was true, it’s absolutely false. I can not describe enough how horrible the service is. Please read the other reviews before attending this place, they are thugs that take advantage of your lack of time and fatigue, especially tourists. THIS PLACE DESERVES A NEGATIVE 5 STAR RATING. A one star is a blessing they don’t deserve.

STAY AWAY Very negative experience here. My first time getting a rental car. Booked through Expedia website. When I arrived, the staff was nice, and the car was too. I was taken to my car, and the agent asked me to inspect it for damage. He circled the car with me as I checked for obvious damage. I noticed some light scratches on the hood, but thought this was mere wear and tear. He then encouraged me to go ahead and sign the paper that there was no damage. When I returned the car, the (different) agent inspected it and noticed LIGHT SCRATCHES on the hood. After checking if these scratches were on file for the car, he informed me that I was responsible to pay for the damage and proceeded to charge my credit card an additional $750 (on top of the rental fees which more than doubled the "total" quoted to me when I booked on Expedia). He gave me an accident report and told me to contact my insurance company. I contacted my insurance, and discovered that I needed more information from the rental company. Over the following week, I have called several times, each time being told that the "auto claims department" opens later in the day, or was already closed for the day. I was given different times each time I called. I also emailed them several times and never received a response. All in all, my two day rental has cost me over $1000.

Terrible service. Not only for their rentals but for their park and fly services to. Shuttles take forever. Didn't even rent a car here but from the conversations I could over hear at the front desk even those customers weren't happy and felt they were getting ripped off with a $500 deposit even after prepaying for the car in full. They were charging customers extra fees after they returned the vehicle and didn't disclose this before hand. Wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy having to deal with this company. And this is still probably an understatement.

Terrible service, booked online months ahead when I got there they wanted more money then what was offered online & what I had booked for & claimed that they dont pre request online, so why is it online then? I payed the same time I booked my flight. Now we are returning the car at the moment an it's almost half hour an no service up to now no one is helping us an we are definitely gonna miss our flight thanks to (E-Z Rent a car) located near the airport! I do not recommend this place at all!! Go somewhere else an rent!! P.s they charged us $17 dollars for a dash off the full fuel line ARE U FLIPPIN SERIOUS?! Do not book through this service. Once you reach to pick up the car then you're informed that you gave to buy the third party liability insurance seperately. Which brings your cost equal to other companies. The car type promised is never available and they always give the gas tank as less than half which ends up being a tricky situation when you go back to return the car. Poor poor poor experience!

We rent a car, the place is not in the airport, we had to take a shuttle car that we had been waiting for 30 minutes when the office is 3 minutes from the airport. When we arrived they told us that we had to buy extra insurance that cost 30 CAD. While 2 weeks early I rented a car with Alamo and it wasn't necessary or mandatory. Additionally we had to pay a deposit of 500 CAD additional to the insurance. When we returned the car that day, they told me that the deposit is going to be in my bank account in 2 weeks and the only thing that they cared about was the money. They didn't say anything about extra insurance or a deposit when we booked the car. This is information that needs to be on the website.

Rude, bad service, not helpful. We booked our car far in advance and it was free booking. That was where the good things ended. The car was dinged up. Our key fob malfunctioned after one day and when we called for assistance, no one ever answered the phone. We were also charged for one day of insurance despite providing valid proof of insurance upon arrival. The staff was rude and not helpful. I would not recommend this place. It is listed as cheap but after their shenanigans you pay more than you would somewhere great like Enterprise. The location is bad and you have to walk a long way from terminal 3. Get on a train. And THEN take a shuttle 10 minutes to the location. I stood on the curb for 30 minutes with all my luggage while they prepared the car and paperwork. Trust the ratings. Just pay the average price for a more solidified car rental. The money we didnt end up saving was not worth the head aches. Turning the car in was easy but we learned quick and arranged a ride to the terminal instead of taking the shuttle back. Cheers. Toronto is BEAUTIFUL. Dont ruin it by using this rental company.

Great quality vehicle, clean, better than expected. Stay patient and positive and you will be pleased with your experience. If you do not leave yourself enough time, or are in a rush then I suggest renting a car from a location where you don't need to wait for the shuttle bus. That being said, the shuttle came to pick me up from viscount in under 20 minutes. Very pleased!. Drop off was also quick and easy. I had left my credit card at the office, but a member of the staff (Arjun, who is a fantastic employee if you ask me) notified my shuttle driver right away to turn around. The driver drove back without hesitation. The CC hold charge is expensive but there was no problem there, it was returned as promised. I am pleased with the customer service and would recommend Fox rent-a-car.

This time I only waited about 5 minutes for the shuttle pick up and Shan was very efficient, so I was in my car a few minutes later. I find they have the best prices for car rentals at the Toronto Airport.

I arrive and am promptly told they can't rent me a car since imIunder 23 and leave me stranded. Had to return to the airport to rent with Hertz instead. Worst experience I've ever had with a car rental company. They tried scamming us on various fees that were not included in the original bill. They invented an "airport maintenance fee" that was nowhere in the contract. They claimed it was an error on their side but we were still responsible for paying for it. Absolutely ridiculous. Fox rent a car are bunch of scammers who advertise its unlimited kilometers but when you go there it's not. If you try to cancel the reservation they charge the cancellation fee almost as much as the reservation. Quality of the car is also very poor. Never renting a car ever again from this place.

This place is actually shaddy. It shows the lowest price on Expedia like $125 for 3 days but they actually charge you extra charges like they made you buy their daily insurance per day and also charge you AIRPORT MAINTENANCE FEE??? which is pretty high too and the worst of all they dont even leave you at departures. They leave you at the furthest station, ( If they can). Our charges came out as 276 for 3 DAYS?? I mean i wouod have booked Avis. Our flight was at 8:15 to vancouver and we were at the car place from 6:07 and it was 7:10. They had a small car that can only accomodate 6 people with the driver being 7. They did 2 trips before us so a total of 12 people went before us. When it was 7:10, My husband and I became worried because there are so many procedures you need to go through before you board a plane and I believe the rental people doesnt respect that . We took an Uber and thank God we did as the check in lines were way too long + the security and then the gate was far too. I would never book with this company again. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE. on Side note: The guy before us was complaining that he didnt even get the car he booked.

Absolutely awful experience. They are NOT at the airport, you have to take a train and a shuttle, and their employees are rude. They will also try to make you pay for damages that you didn't cause and months down the road they'll charge your credit card for "toll charges" This company is a complete scam and they should not be in business.

Sept 19 evening. Picked up a rental car with slightly less than a 1/4 tank of gas. They said they couldn't get more gas because the manager who was not working that shift, was the only one with a credit card. When I asked for another car they said that mine was the last car. Then I asked what I was supposed to do about gas they then said just bring it back with the same amount. Too bad the lowest score is one. Sept 20 early morning filled the tank $68.00 Sept 21 afternoon filled the tank as per contract $24.00 and returned the car. Had them prepare the bill apx 90.00. asked them to reduce the bill by the cost of gas to fill the tank. $68.00. They said I should have brought the car back with the same amount of had as when I picked it up. Too funny. Hard to believe these guys are still in business. Next call will be to my credit card company to ask to be compensated for the gas to fill the car that I shouldn't have had to pay for.

This is NOT A VALUE FIND. Do not give them business; they don't deserve your hard-earned money! As multiple reviewers have already stated, THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF to make up for "low" online prices. In my case, they quoted me $501 but OVERCHARGED me, at $547 ... for no reason. I asked to see the extra charges, and the attended just mercilessly argued with me. THEY PURPOSELY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF FAMILIES; knowing that you can't stay and argue because you have a flight to catch. Moreover, their cars are dirty, they stink of sweat and smoke, and are falling apart. I hope the owner reads this review and knows that I (and other savvy reviewers) am happily helping them lose business. ANY REVIEW OVER 1-STAR IS COMPLETELY FAKE ... I promise you. My biggest mistake was booking through Expedia because they were priced the lowest; and I didn't read the reviews. Totally my fault, but YOU DON'T HAVE TO MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE. If all you care about is paying the least, you will certainly get (and not get) what you paid for; especially in this case.

Had no issues at all. Provided the documents as usual for my insurance coverage and they accommodated me l right away. Always rented from them. The shuttle driver did try to squeeze $10 from my wife and I when he dropped us off to the Airport at 5am. We asked to go to Viscount train link station but but he brought us to Terminal 3. The shuttle said that he has to pay the aiport for dropping us off. This was out of the norm..

Horrible, horrible, horrible. Arrogant staff, crazy requirements, uncleaned car and 3/8 full of gas on pickup. I was told to bring it back at 3/8 full of gas (they were optimistic, I saw it at 5/8 empty). When I returned it much fuller than I picked it up there was no reimbursement of course. The location pickup is difficult to find, then you have to call them for a ride. It takes way too long to be worth the horrible service. Once you drop off your car they also don’t guarantee to take you to the airport (they will if they have time and space in their pickup shuttle). I will never rent here again.

I received a Nissan Rogue (red) fully loaded with 12k km . Smelled new.. drive new and had navigation. No bad surprised when i checked out. We were at the office 2 hours before our departure and no shuttle showed up and we missed our flights. I tried calling the manager for over a month to discuss the issue and he was "never in". Stay away from this company. They are cheap do not take responsibility for their faults.

The car was great.. completely fine. the process to get the car, the price quoted, and the ability to pickup the car with a reservation was a completed $hit show. The Company's logo doesn't match the logo they use, the prices quoted, don't match what get charged, and the reservation means nothing, when they tell you that you will have to wait 3-5 hrs to get the car you reserved.

I rented a car through Expedia with E-Z Car rental. I was skeptical at first but it was suppose to be $50 cheaper then what it would be if I rented a car from inside the airport. First, when I was setting up the rental on Expedia, it offered a full coverage insurance, it was a great deal so I added this to my purchase. However, when I arrived, the employee told me this insurance was no good and I needed to purchase insurance through them. He said I could call Expedia and they would reimburse me for this insurance. Then, he said he needed my credit card for a hold of $500. Expedia had no information about this. I had no prior knowledge of this. When we questioned them about it at the rental place, they became rude. For me, it was a bad experience on many levels and for this, I will not be choosing this company again.

I can not put into proper words how bad this company is. It is the online scam come to life. They are not at the airport like they advertise. Be aware of that. They tell you how to get to there shuttle pick up, which is not close to the airport either. The low price listed on Expedia or any of those type of sites is a lie to get you in the door. You will pay the same rates you would have paid if you had just gone with a rent a car company at the airport. You will have to buy insurance through them, even if you purchased it on Expedia or have your own. You will wait 40 min to be picked up by shuttle, not totaling the travel time to get to the shuttle pick up location which is also not at the airport. I waited about 30 min in line, while they handled whatever it was the agent was doing in the office, and then coming out to help the line move along. I should have known something was wrong when a guy was returning his vehicle and was very angry about the service and extra charges and fees. He was really mad, on top of him having to wait so long to return the car. when returning the car, same long wait. Agents make you feel like they do not want you there. I feel like you have to go out of your way to be this bad of a company. The worst feeling in the world is to feel like you got robbed, but can not do anything about it. I always try to give positive reviews on any business because nobody is easy. But I have to tell everyone to stay away with this company not only because this company has no training to his staff nor no services quality on both front and phones. I can write a long story about my very negative experiences but I'll save both my and your time. I chose this company just want to save some bucks but it is TOTALLY not worth it. The time I spent to deal with them, the time I wasted while waiting and traveling, the panelty I paid for no good reason, the way I was treated after I paid for everything....WoW~~ Please find one with postive reviews and you won't be wasting your time and life again. Now I'm going to Toronto again, and I rented with another company with good positive reviews. I know I paid a little bit more this time ,but let's see the difference.

We booked through Expedia and chose this place because they had the best price for a luxury SUV, and we wanted this vehicle due to weather conditions. When we finally were picked up and taken there, the wait was horrendous because the 2 customers in front of us had issues as well with the hotel there and the same staff run the rental and hotel. We finally got our chance and they tell us the SUV is out for repair so they'll give us a mini van for the same price. I told her that when I booked a month ago, the Minivans were cheaper than the SUVs. She kept arguing with us and insisting they weren't. She then told us we could bring the minivan back the following day and get a newly returned SUV, this is after she asked where we were taking the rental and we told her approximate 2-3 hours from Toronto. Finally we had no choice being stranded there with 4 kids, no vehicle and a bunch of luggage, so we ended up taking the mini van and were given a 15% discount. Not happy at all, they were not helpful, were pushy, and not very accommodating. Plus everyone else there had issues. I would never rent from here again regardless of the prices, which turned out being more expensive than other places anyway due to hidden charges. Stay away from here!!

Do not use!! They are the worst. My flight was delayed and by the time I followed the maze of directions they give you, I was told that they did not hold my car because I was late. They left me stranded in another country and could care less. They don’t even deserve one star. Use the rental car companies right there in the airport terminals. It works out to the same $$$ and the customer service is much better.

E-Z Rent-A-Car Car Rental 6465 Airport Road Mississauga, ON L4V 1E4 Canada We had booked this car rental via expedia. There is a reason they have one star rating on google and yelp!!! Here's why: 1. They don't mention (maybe in fine print) that the car rental is NOT at the airport! You actual have to take a tram, take the elevator down to first floor and then call them from a courtesy phone. 2. Once you call them, there is an endless loop of music and "can you please hold" and they place you on hold before you can even answer them. Good luck getting someone on the phone! 3. Once you tell them you are at the airport waiting, they will send a shuttle out to pick you up...wait, wait, wait..... 4. After awaiting, they had given my rental to someone else, because in fine print you have 1hr from your pick up time to get to your car. Now I don't have a car, and have to go looking for other mode of transportation. I'm tired from travel or if u cant get ur luggage in time, or your flight is delayed you may not have your reservation. I was trying to save a buck, cuz they were cheaper but in end it was so not worth it. 5. Employees are apathetic, not helpful, infact rude. It's just not worth the money you save...trust me. STAY AWAY !!!

Buyer beware!!!! This company is located off site of the airport & their transportation shuttles took forever. Add that lines were long, 3 out of 4 staff members were rude. Oh and extra insurance fees per day were another surprise. To add insult to injury, I accidentally used a toll road ONE TIME (being unfamiliar with the city) - OK no problem about $16 in fees but they charged me a $50 service charge. Absolutely outrageous! I will NEVER use this rental company again. SHAME ON EXPEDIA for using them in their bundles!!!

I can’t believe I didn’t check before on reviews about Fox Car Rental / EZ Car!! These people are HORRIBLE!! Please DO NOT book with this company. I had a reservation made and they wanted me to wait for 2 hrs for the car, and with no certainty. On top, the desk person was rude and not empathetic that after a flight the last thing you want is to wait to at least 2 hours to hopefully get a car even with a reservation. The 1.7 score speaks by itself. Complete trash!

This is the third time I've used EZ and I give them 5 stars for their customer service. They are polite, friendly and make sure you get the best deal. The 3 cars I've had have been spotless and new. I'd like to give a shout out to Yuri who was awesome and helpful. I would recommend you guys to friends and family.

They will make you take the train to viscount station get out call them and wait for half an hour for the shuttle, and than another 1.5 to 2 hours in the front desk-if you are reading that guys you are seriesly need to improve on your coustomer experience. And same on return I almost missed my flight. You will be better of getting uber to the city and rent their. If I could give 0 I would.

STAY AWAY. Not worth a star. The worst car hire company filled with dishonest and unprofessional staff. They trick people into getting a value but with all the hassle and extra charges, it is simply far better off to go to one of the premium rental cars. Save yourself some time, hassle and money by going somewhere else. See below for details. First you need to purchase a comprehensive coverage which is 11.95 a day minimum. They refuse to dispense any vehicles unless you purchase this package. They knowingly refuse to honour any credit card damage waiver or insurance plans. Second while doing the paperwork there's no mention of the vehicle class you reserved. I booked a full size through Rentalcars.com and they downsized it to a small car. They even showed me on their monitor it says SCAR which I assume stands for a small car. I then called Rentalcars.com and they verified that it was a full size I've booked and insisted to speak with the staff there. Their response was they don't have one available. The Rentalcar staff suggested to go with another provider so I agreed. I wanted to just cancel everything and go to another provider. But guess what when I asked for cancellation there's now a $50 cancellation fee. So at that point I needed bite the bullet and take the car. Third the mileage. When I booked the car it clearly said the reservation included unlimited. It is not. They have this policy where Ontario residents are bound by 200km a day limit. I was making a road trip within Ontario and I went over by about 200km their limit. Their quote is .20/km additional driven BUT they charge you the normal 13% HST plus 18% "Airport Charge." For two days, I ended up paying more than $140 for a small car. I've read bad reviews but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt but turns out it was the worst mistake. I ended up paying more than what I'd normally pay for a full size, except I ended with a small car. I've been booking with Rentalcars.com for all my car hire needs for the past 2yrs+ and these guys are the only people I had issues with. This makes me believe this is one of the standard malpractice they perform everyday. They false advertise the features on what's included and downsize your reservation. Honestly if I were you and you are still reading my review, I'd just go to one of the premium providers in the airport conveniently available in the terminal.

Worst rental ever. I would never go again. Lots of uncovered fees, on the website it said $250 for four days, eventually I paid approx $570. Insurance is mandatory $40/day, even though I told him my insurance covered it they don't accept it. Shuttle bus comes every 20 mins, made us almost miss our flight. Terrible customer service as well, the car on the website as promised eventually I got a smaller size of the vehicle. I would never go with them again. I rather pay more for Budget or Avion for higher quality of rental car services than this private company. Don't go!!!!!

The worst company ever. I do not know why Priceline is advertising them. They do not let you waive the car insurance even if you credit card or insurance company covers it. I ended up paying about $50 extra. Do not be fooled by their cheapest price. It is just to get you. Also the van was given to me one hour late and had scratches, etc all over it. I think it also needed break work. I saw many other customer arguing and complaining.

The good: The car was good and what I had expected /reserved. Initial daily charge was low but ended up going way up- see below. The not so good: shuttle took forever- both from airport and to. It feels like they are ‘nickel and diming’ you. The bad: I needed to travel to USA, I knew they charged a daily fee, but no where online, nor when I called before to confirm the reservation was I told they have a mileage limit. Needless to say, the car cost went way up-and the initial lower cost savings was gone. Next time- I’ll just go with one of the bigger Companies and not deal with the issues.

They are not operating at this location and there isn't any mention of it on the booking confirmation email or any sort of communication about this. I came to know only after reaching the location. There was a lady who told that she will book a shuttle to the new location and it will take 15-20mins but I had to call them again after waiting for 30mins and the shuttle arrived after about 40mins. There was only 1 person handling the reservations at the new location and had to wait for another 40mins. They have some nonsense auto insurance transfer fee of $5 per day even though I was covered by my credit card insurance. I asked them to explain what's this transfer fee but they said it is company policy but never gave justification! They are very adamant and not customer friendly at all. They just try to give one or the other reason and make you pay more. I witnessed almost 3 customers who were ahead of me, who argued about insurance issue. Their prices are cheap only online but when you take the car, the amount you pay will be almost the same or even more than some of the other reputed rental companies like Thrifty, Alamo etc. These reputed rental companies are at least more transparent and straight forward with thier prices compared to the last minute, unpleasant surprises from this pathetic rental company.

Best way to describe this place is shady. Beware when you book through third party sites like Travelocity or Expedia. We booked a minivan for a Canada Day outing to Ottawa with unlimited kilometers... Not so where. We went to pick up the car. Unlimited kilometers apparently doesn't apply to residents of Ontario, as they have experienced "courier companies from the province take the cars and run their business". What???? Anyways, that conversation went to the conversation about insurance. My credit card has rental card insurance included, but they were pushing liability insurance on me, and demanded proof from my current insurance provider before they released the car to.me, or pay their outrageous daily rate. Never again. Horrible service. Terrible vibe.

The whole was experience was fine. Picked up the car with no problem. Dropped off with no problem. I was scared in the first place because of the reviews... But it turned out ok. Do not rent a car here. My wife and I used EZ rental car, just outside of the Toronto Airport, for a trip to Niagara Falls. We were extremely disappointed in our experience from the start. We had to call ahead to the rental office for the shuttle, during this call we were told we would have a car in 45 minutes. Once we arrived at the office we were shocked about the dingy building. We were warned by other customers that the wait would be long because they did not have any cars available. Once we got to the front to speak to the receptionist, we were told it would be another hour for a car (we had already waited 30 minutes). After checking in we sat with other disgruntled customers. When we asked why the wait was so long we were told that they did not have anymore cars and that we would have to wait until people brought back their rentals. After 2 hours a car came in for us, a van, but we were told that it was not for us and we would have to wait longer. At 2 1⁄2 hours a small car came in and my wife went to the front desk to ask if that was for us, she was told it was. After explaining to the attendant that this car was too small (we needed to fit 4 people + luggage), we were told again that it was our rental. We explained that we reserved a Volkswagen Jetta online, but were told that they do not carry any Jettas. Finally, after 2 1⁄2 hours my wife spoke with another angry customer about a car that was on the side of the building. She asked the front desk worker if we could have that one, she was told no that it was a luxury car and he tried to talk her into taking the small car, again. She had made it clear that we expected a midsized car, as we had reserved online. During a frustrating conversation, my wife explained to the worker that it is neither our fault or our problem that they did not have enough cars available, the worker agreed to call his boss to ask if we could have the Accura that was parked on the side. The car was not a luxury vehicle, unless you call a cracked bumper and dirty interior, luxury. Our biggest mistake is not reading reviews prior to booking our car. RENT A CAR FROM ANYWHERE ELSE.

Worst rental car experience ever. We were supposed to get the car at 9:45 PM and got it finally at 2 AM. When we arrived to Pearson airport, we were confused because there were no sign indicating the location of EZ. We had to take the train to viscount station and when we got there, NO shuttle. So we called the rental car agency, we got Ali on the phone. He was unpleased and said that there was no car available, knowing that we booked the car a week before our arrival, and he said that we had to wait at least an hour or when someone else will return his rental before getting a car and he would give it to us as it came (dirty, no cleaning would be done). We waited about 30 min for the shuttle. Then, when we got to the agency, Ali was so rude. He didn’t want to take our personal insurance plan that works everywhere. He was forcing us to take his insurance package, $35 to $40 per day. After, we got a car, dirty and not the one we booked. He never apologized for the inconvenience or anything. We DO NOT recommend this rental, they are not professional and they do not know the terme “customer service”. GO somewhere else.

Not sure what’s “unlimited” about that, but thanks for wasting my time! Also, apparently they accommodate people with foreign licenses, but if you’re from Ontario, they can’t and won’t accommodate you. This place is an absolute scam.

Got to the place and got the car promptly but asked to double check the price and the guy said exactly what I paid on Expedia. When I returned the car, the price was 60$ in excess. We had a very negative pickup experience. We booked through an online 3rd party. Upon arrival at this rental location the agent informed me of 'mandatory' insurance charges that needed to be added. I told him that I was not made aware of this at booking and that I already have comprehensive coverage. He then suggested I can cancel my booking and go somewhere else. I didn't indicate I was considering this, it was his suggestion, and clearly a facetious one given the timing. They clearly are confronted by this a lot but this seems like a really deceptive way to run your business. The agent gave me a false name, which I learned overhearing a conversation in a language he assumed I didn't understand. It was all very shady. Giving 2 stars because the car was in good condition aside from a low pressure tire.

Took for ever to get served while staff chatted and ignored the line of customers. Car was great and apart from the excessive amount of time at check in and out the experience was positive. Update: About a month after returning home I received a bill for $75+. Most of which was administrative charges for using a toll road. Before renting the car I told the person behind the counter exactly where I was going and he said I didn't need the tag. Turns out that was a pricey piece of misinformation.

I asked them what car are they trying to give me and that I don’t want an SUV. Then they tried convincing me that their Hyundai Sonata was their premium luxury car. I told them every other company offers that car in a midsize sedan category. They’re offering me a midsize sedan while charging for the premium prices that I made the booking. Dishonest service so I walked out.

Upon arrival, the mood in the building was extremely sour. When it was our turn it felt like we were being taken advantage of. Extremely poor service, you can not waive the insurance coverage, gas tank was half full, had to inspect car in complete Darkness, all customers were upset, 20 cents a km if you go over your mileage quota. They threaten you, being tired after flight, getting to this rental car place takes about one hr, coz take train, walk outside call them, wait for them to pick up, once at this place, only one person serving, 10ppl in line.. ZERO STARS Complaint #1 - NOT WHAT I BOOKED I pre-booked nearly 2 months in advance and specifically requested a mid-size / small car. When I arrived I was given a minivan which was older and more run down than anything I've ever driven. If you are not providing vehicles based on typical rental car standard you need to advertise that. It was mortifying driving up in an old minivan, especially since we are a young couple with NO KIDS, to a formal event when all my family members got the usual brand new vehicles. We complained however we were told this was all they had which is ridiculous since we had a reservation. We were then told we were getting an "upgrade" at no extra charge as if we should be happy we didn't get what we asked for. It's only an upgrade if its better than what we had asked for. Plus this "upgrade" cost us more on gas and was difficult to park in the city which is why we wanted a small car. We paid more to get a junk pile van for 6 days than my brother who got an 80,000 dollar SUV paid for 7 days with Enterprise. Complaint #2 - FILTHY Not only was it a complete embarrassment, it was filthy! I didn't even want to put my luggage on the seats, never mind sitting in it with my dress clothes. There was pet hair and crumbs all over the seats among the obvious spill marks, chocolate or something smeared on the ceiling, the floor looked like someone just came from the beach with all the dirt on it and there was garbage and even a dead fly in the storage pockets on the door. The outside was covered in scratches and dents too. We made sure to take pictures of all the damage prior to driving it so it didn’t get put on us. Complaint #3 - NOT MECHANICALLY SOUND This car caused me so much anxiety every time we drove in it that I was sick to my stomach just thinking about getting back in it. It seriously ruined a good part of our trip. It has an extremely bad shake while driving, especially on the highway. The breaks squeal and one of the wipers is separating and was flapping while we drove. The tires are so bald that in the rain we spun out making a left hand turn across traffic. The windshield was nearly impossible to see out of in the rain. It looked greasy or something. We even stopped and washed it and it made no difference. This was all terrifying to drive in. When I complained we were told “it runs so it's fine". Just because the engine turns over doesn't mean that it is in good condition to drive, never mind charge someone a fortune to rent it. Complaint # 4 - MISLEADING INFORMATION I was misled about the location of the company as it stated it was at the airport. Had I known that it was offsite and I'd have to take a shuttle I would have never booked it. My family flew in on the same flight and already had their car and were on the road before we even arrived at the location. This experience put us nearly an hour behind schedule. I was also quoted 460.00 which is what I expected to pay. Not 820.00 after all the extra fees. The price quoted should be the price it is. No surprises. If I needed extra insurance there should have been an option to chose that when I booked but there was no mention of it, until you read the fine print, plus the extra daily fees. SUMMARY All of these complaints were shared with the other 2 people in the office that day as well. Our shuttle back to the airport was a venting session about the bad experiences all of us had. I complained at the office and they would not take me seriously. I had to fight with them to even get contact information for management and when I emailed management nobody has even bothered to get back to me. Very poor customer service. I will never use this company again as they can’t even offer compensation for the horrible rental experience. They own several small rental companies so beware, use the big trusted brands so you don't get caught in this scam. I only wish I had read the reviews this company has before booking. Lesson learned.

Don't Rent! Hidden Fees on EVERYTHING. If you return car with one strand of hair - they will charge you for cleaning. They will charge you for liability insurance which is hefy because your coverage doesn't meet the required deductible amount as per policy. Hidden fees - if you drive car out of province = $$$$$$$ (they installed GPS tracking on every car apparently). They will charge you $$$$ if you go into USA too. $$$$ if you were late. $$$$ if you are returning it after 9:00 pm even if they are "24 hours" which is extra $25 dollar. They are liar and unprofessional and make you wait 2 hour in line and so rude!. Don't go there - simple!

The property is small with very little space in the parking lot. Save yourself the hassle and book with someone that is onsite and has a reputation for good customer service. Absolutely unprofessional. We booked car over a month ahead and got call an hour before denying availablility and that cars sold out just the day before we were supposed to get. The rep confirmed that they overbook it and obviously accept the higher booking rates . When asked for manager I was told that he's not available and it's ok to scream or abuse if I felt like because they are used to it. So, lesson learned - it's not worth to be left stranded for insignificant dollar difference. No EZ car rental ever!

This car rental place should be avoided at all cost! It is NOT at the airport so it will take an extra 1/2 hour to get to the place (with their shuttle) We had a car reserved for 10:30am - they didn't have any cars available and we had to sit and wait until someone bring their car back... we got a car close to 1Pm!! There's no separate efficient check out process - you have to stand in the same line as the people that rent, so plan on extra 1/2 hour just to return the car. They will try to charge you from the time of reservation (not the time you actually got the car) so make sure you pay attention to that. When I complained about how long it took to rent the car on the pick up date I was told "you are lucky to even get a car"! what??? Who says that...? Pay a little extra and avoid the extra headache

Avoid it. Though the car was clean and matching the description, the staff is not very helpful and it took me a long time waiting for the shuttle bus at the airport. Also, there's always a huge line (expect to wait 15-20 minutes). They will charge you for taxes not mentioned AND the insurance is mandatory (even if you have your own, they'll find a way for you to pay another).

Beware!!!! Any 5 star rating is E-Z using a avatar account to boost their ratings. The shuttle exceeds an hour for pick up either way. Their phone number says 10mins. The drive does take less than 10mins so I am not sure what the shuttle is doing in the 50mins Staff is rude and will they take a very long time to process you in or out. In fact there will be 3 or 4 people behind the counter and only 1 person is actually assisting customers. While there I experienced how they handle customer complaints while waiting to return my car. If I had experienced this level of disrespect as I saw toward another customer I would never have rented from them. Finally they said return the car empty and we will give you a rate of .90c/liter. I said ok that is cheaper than outside. Here is the scam!!!! They charge you double. I am about to call and complain about this final insult. Several people I have had discussions with in the lobby and after the rental expressed similar sentiments.

Listen to all the other reviews! I didnt see the reviews until I looked up the address on my phone when my husband was at the airport. But we booked on Priceline and paid for the insurance at that time too. When my husband got there they were trying to charge something crazy like an additional 60+ dollars a day for the insurance after we already paid the 11 dollars a day. When inspecting the vehicle for damage they tried to do it very fast so my husband wouldnt catch any dents or marks on the car. The car he got wasnt bad at least and it didnt give him any issues for the week. At drop off they charged him more than they were supposed to, which we werent suprised after reading the reviews. I think the other reviews helped us not get scammed too bad at least. We knew they would try to charge more insurance and charge people for damage to the car. In the end we paid around 345 dollars when our Priceline print out said it would be around 280 and when he picked up the car they said 310 dollars.

Dirty and unprepared vehicle, impossible to reach customer service, and insufficiently staffed counter causing super long processing. Honestly, the final actual price is much higher than advertised (not including insurance) as they add "fees" to the base/advertised price that larger rental companies do not. The WORST CAR RENTAL PLACE EVER! Should be E-Ztress car rental. Please do yourselves a HUGE Favour DO NOT rent a car from here. They will drain the good out of you. Spend 3hrs in this place just to rent a car. From trying to sell you BS insurance coverage “mandatory” even though most credit cards cover your car rental insurance. That’s not enough for them you actually have to produce your insurance policy that says you’re covered for rental. But who really carries their auto policy? What!?! BUT if you can provide it you still need to sign a spot saying that you are responsible for the insurance, well why not just have that signed instead of the headache of trying to provide proof of insurance. I say it’s a SCAM! Then we have to wait for the car because it wasn’t ready. We finally got the car and it was dirty, stains, dirt and all scratches. Talked to the agent and he said oh it was cleaned. How about the bugs on the hood? Oh that’s normal and it’s hard to get the bugs off. What!?! Lots of unhappy people coming in and out with all the complaints that were listed on the 1star reviews. (Wish I had my video on so you can see for yourself). They’re all true. One, dude said “you screwed me when I was picking up the car, now you’re screwing me now that I’m returning it!?!”. We all get sucked into the “cheap” rental but trust me this is not cheap at all, after the BS Insurance scam, the hours they took away from us, the stress they caused. It’s not worth it! Book a known car rental place. Read reviews and trust them. Sure, some people write reviews just to whine or just born complainers but when you have 1star like this one... RUN!!! Never get fooled by cheap prices. I have seen people beeing ripped off here. This one and Economy car rental are all run by the same people. Stay away. They gave me a car with almost empty tank. When I told them, they said return with the same level of fuel. Right off the bat I had to go to gas station and spend more time there. Besides, how the hell should I know when I reach the destination I will have the exact amount of fuel. So they will make money out of you in many ways.

This place understands that customers are only coming for the low price but beware that you get what you pay for. Lots of shadiness here. Three top things to note from our experience with them: 1) although we booked with Expedia there was a hidden clause that negated the unlimited miles. They said if you’re from Canada that you have a 200 kilometer limit 2) they make you buy their own comprehensive insurance that is not covered by credit card rental insurance policies. This is 12 bucks a day extra. I know this was a problem for every customer because i saw them explain the added fee to 3 different customers. 3) when we called the phone line we were on hold for 10 minutes so don’t expect anyone to be helpful if you’re calling at a busy time. Overall the car we got was okay, it has scratches all over but it got us where we needed to so no complains there, just want everyone to know what to expect here.

Rented two vans for a hockey team and was late so needed a quick turnaround. The vans were filthy, disgusting, and if there were 0 stars or negative stars that is the review we would give. We returned the disgusting vans first thing the next day and they would not refund money. Fraud, unethical, and they made blatant lies about insurance needed to upsell. Absolutely never ever rent anything from them.

Initially we were sceptical because of reviews but after speaking to the workers we clarified everything and were very happy with the price compared to what other companies quoted us. Van ran great all trip, was spacious and clean! No surprises when we returned the van, was exactly as quoted. Will definitely use them again on our next road trip!

Absolutely the worst. Where to start? The day we get there it took an hour to get the car. They had zero ability to be remotely human - not personable at all. They had also failed to mention during the reservation we made a couple weeks ago that there was a $500 security deposit on the vehicle. When we were dropping off the vehicle, somehow they had attached our reservation details to the wrong contract (and, incidentally, somebody else's reservation details to OUR contract!). They were completely disorganized with cluttered paperwork all over their front desk, which probably explains the contract mix-up. Judging by the rest of the reviews here, none of this should come as a surprise. Oh, and their shuttle drivers don't observe stop-signs or any other traffic laws it seems - way too aggressive on the road; did not feel safe at all with them. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. RENT ELSEWHERE.

I have been renting from these guys for years. They actually operate a few rental companies under different names but at the same location. You need to know a few things about them so it's not a surprise. First, they are not in the terminal. They are however a short train ride and shuttle. In fact they are the closest offsite car rental. Second, you will need to show proof of liability insurance or you will have to buy insurance through them. Now the good.... They are always one of but usually the cheapest priced. Their fleet of vehicles are in great shape. And the best part is that they are opened 24 hours a day! This is important for those of you trying to catch an early morning flight and need a shuttle to the airport. The other great thing about them is the shuttle driver won't just drop you at the train station, he'll take you to the terminal.... Not like other offsite car rental companies. The car they gave me was damaged on the driver side. The windshield washer pump stopped working on the 4th day and when I called to get a replacement a very rude attendant asked me why I'm calling after 4 days of having rented out the car. They also take a $500 deposit which does not get returned immediately but takes 4-5 business days earning them interest. If you buy insurance online they still try to sell u more unneeded and unnecessary insurance. The guy even said he cannot give me the car if I don't buy 3rd party insurance from him. I told him I had my own and was walking away when he called me back and said they I have to sign a waiver and prove to him by calling my insurance agency. Yes the car rental prices are cheap... So is the service.

One star is generous. Avoid this place at all costs. Car was unclean, low washer fluid, 1/4 tank of gas. Car wouldn't start on each morning of our trip, office didn't help us with roadside assistance or return our calls of complaints, it was all left to us to resolve. Made further complaints when we returned, management again didn't respond; instead, applied an insulting 15% discount to our total bill and sent us a receipt.

Did the job. Rental vehicle was excellent - super clean, new, and a very competitive price for an SUV. Customer service was curt but polite, but understaffed. Unfortunately the shuttle service let me down; after waiting 45mins and several calls another shuttle driver finally picked me up. And then again for pick up to return to airport, it can be a 30min wait. But the driver did wait for those finishing up at the desk. They do what they can!

This place is run by asian indian, as an Asian they're the kind of immigrants that make all immigrants look bad to other countries, this company is basically a scam rental, booked a reservation online, when I got there, agent said I have to pay extra for insurance, which i refused since I have my own insurance, however they stated its not optional, to a point i called my insurance to send them a copy of my insurance coverage, when I showed them they said oh the coverage has to be atleast 50,000$ cad, which is total bull, i cancel my reservation and just went back to the airport and rented a car from avis. It is a total waste of time dealing with this crooks since their only goals was to milk money out of you. I hope this place go bankrupt and have this crooks deported.

Be sure to have proper insurance either with your credit card or your own insurance company and you need to show proof. Car was dirty when picked up and was not full of fuel had a mechanical malfunction with the convertible top which damaged the roof, no fault of ours but still had to pay alot even with the insurance. Tried to save money using this company and paid alot more plus they are not located at the airport which is inconvenient as well not a very good way to end a holiday. Employees were friendly but would not recommend this rental place.

Do not rent from here! These people are here to scam you. They found a really small chip on the windshield, probably from a rock while driving and they charged us $1200. We are not even sure if it was from when we had the car or from previous rentals. They said “damage is damage”. They knew our credit card has insurance so they just want to make a claim so they can make more money. Do not deal with the obese Indian man, extremely rude and aggressive. It’s obvious he’s just trying to make money off of you. Terrible experience here.

I highly recommend that you do not use this company. Picking up the car was a nightmare, I was the second person in line and I spent 45 minutes waiting. Then they would not rent me a car unless I accepted their $29.95 per day insurance coverage. I told them I have nationwide insurance that covers me for rental cars, and I even provided them my card showing my policy number. They said "this only proves that you have insurance for your Pacifica, not rental cars". I have never heard that before even though I rent cars for work often. They made me take their insurance and only removed it when I got my nationwide representative to email them saying that I have rental car insurance. This place is understaffed and quite rude. I won't rent from them again. Worst part of my vacation was dealing with this company.

This place deserve a ZERO star.....You think you are getting a good deal at first but they nickle and dime you on everything. First, they dont tell you where at the airport is the car pickup. Then you find out that you have to take the airport train and then a shuttle. By then you are an hour out (at least) then they dont include liability insurance even when you are from a diff country...and they make you get their liability ins. (Which none of the other major car rental co. does because they all include basic liability ins when you are from another country....) The staff was trying to charge me for a full day when I was 2 hours over the return time. It was $13 per hour over...but the full day is 40.....It wasnt until I questioned him then he changed it to 26 instad of the 40 per day. Then it gets better because they charge you an arm and a kidney for the toll transponder which they dont even offer it to you unless you ask...so they can get you for a holy $50 admin fee if you dont pay the $13 per day for the transponder. Trust me, you did be better off renting from the majors because you be paying about the same at the end..and prob save you a few hours.

We always check with our insurance company and credit card company about our coverage before renting in other countries. We have also rented successfully in Canada several times before without issue. So it was to my surprise when we finally got to the E-Z car rental in the midst of winter at 1am that we were told our cheap and affordable rental required additional rental insurance which doubled our rental cost. I assured the man several times, we are fully covered and decline all insurance. He responds we cannot accept insurance, its the law you have to rent from us. He pulls out and points to a makeshift card and states that if I haven't had this filled out by my auto-insurance prior to coming here we have to rent. Stranded now, we have no choice and accept the dirty man's deal. Then he slaps us with a 500$ hold on our credit card as well. To no surprise I find out that everything he said was a lie. The car was fine, other than that, but ill never rent from sleE-Zy again.

The worst car rental service possible.... They have the worst customer service and make you wait in line for hours before you can even get your car. Staff are rude and unprofessional, the man that served us was talking on his phone the whole time about his lunch break. Cars are very old and dirty. Staff wrote on our receipt that gas tank was full when we returned the car, the next day they sent us an email saying we were charged 97 dollars for an empty gas tank. These guys are liars and scammers, I will NEVER use their service again.

The man working at the Montreal location was an absolute nightmare. The price I was quoted online was nowhere near the amount he was trying to charge me, and then he kept trying to charge amounts onto my credit card that made no sense. He was also extremely rude and when I told him to cancel everything he then tried to keep my credit card info and laughed when he told me he was going to charge me 80$ for cancellation (which he did). I've never experienced anything like this and would not recommend this company to anyone. I wish I had read the reviews before because they are bad for a reason in this case.

Crooks, advertise unlimited mileage and free cancellation. When you go there the KM is limited and their reason is Canadians don’t qualify for Unlimited. ( Even if that’s the case is it not mentioned while booking) and on finding out this and trying cancel they ask $50 charge. Of course I did not pay but who knows how many people they took advantage of and made them pay. Same situation happened with Economoy car rental. They also try to force me to buy their insurance despite me having insurance on Credit cars. They try to take advantage of the fact we need a car urgently since we are already there. When booking online make sure you book with big franchise who will be honest and have best service despite 1 or 2$ more... lesson learned

Got to the airport and realized I had to take a shuttle . The shuttle driver was courteous . Walked in ... got my car and was offered a free upgrade due to car shortage . Friendly staff ... had unlimited kms but I read all the terms and conditions . When I came back ... we looked around the car and and was on my way . I don’t understand the bad reviews when they are trying their best to accommodate the services as best as they can . all it takes is a little reading and you will save a lot more money then anywhere else .

Waited 30 minutes for their airport shuttle, 45 minutes in line in very hot conditions (they had A/C but was not turned on) then was told they had no car for me. The one in Toronto Pearson Airport was awful. It wasn't actually anywhere near the airport. They were absolutely terrible. Different car then expected, hidden fees, paid a lot more than I expected, never go here. Paid about 200 hundred dollars when I had the car for 2 days and was supposed to be 60$.. STAY AWAY!! And customer service was not good, they were not friendly at all.

Worst experience I have ever had renting a car. What a scam company with rude, robot-like staff. I left that place so heated when I returned the dirty, scratched up car. I don't know what they do with their money but they definitely don't maintain the outside or inside of the cars before they rent them out. They had the nerve to say I brought it back with a scratch, when it was already there. I asked to speak with a manager and they said that the manager wasn't in. The driver of the shuttle bus to/from the airport don't help you with your bags, so I was so mad when he dropped me off that I left the door open after exiting so he had to get out and close it himself. I would give 0 stars and never recommend to anyone.

It is in fact an off airport car rental. Consider your shuttles, transfers and long walks to get to their location. Very bad service. Rude and arrogant staff. Long waiting time for shuttle from and to airport. Careless shuttle driver, has no concern for passengers and other people safety. Hidden costs! You will get shocked when they charge you insurance $42 a day even it is not shown in your reservation agreement. Half tank fuel, they wrote full tank. No cancellation possible! No refund for your early return and excess refill. E-Z car rent is expensive. Expedia must kick out this car rent from their YYZ merchant listing!

See TransCanada rental for other poor reviews. Getting from the airport to the rental station is not the most intuitive process. An unmarked van picks you up at the airport (after you wait upwards of 30 min from calling from the airport). At the rental counter they seriously upcharge you. The rates advertised on Expedia are labeled as accounting for insurance, taxes, etc. But at the rental counter, the rude employees hit you with insurance charges and other fees. Reluctant to return to the airport and eager to be on my way, I accepted the rental. The scamming continued when I was shown the car. I was handed a paper to sign that the car was fully inspected and found to have no damage. I was already skeptical of the place, so I made sure to point out even the minor damage I saw. The employee was reluctant to mark them down and went as far as to say that the defects I was seeing were not there. Ridiculous! I brought the car back early and I thought our business was done. Again, I was dealing with a rude employee. I waited (again over 30 min) for the shuttle back to the airport. 6 weeks later I see an unauthorized charge to my credit card. I called and of course they could not provide an answer. Based on other reviews, I am assuming it is a $5-6 toll charge, PLUS A $50 ADMIN FEE! This is a complete ripoff and they seem to go by different names in order to advertise false rates. Avoid at all costs!

This place is totally a spam. Even though they are cheaper than other big brand company (enterprise, discount, etc.). In their website, it said unlimited mileage, but once you there, they said this is for “international driver only” and only have 200km per day. Well that’s fine! But after we return the car, the rental representative walk around the car for 1 second (in a dark condition). She already knew there has a stone chip (less than 1cm Diameter) on the windshield. We 100% believe that it’s not damage while we were using the car. However, we didn’t check properly on the windshield that has a small stone chip (LESS THAN 1cm diameter) while we pick up the car. Therefore, we have to pay for the damage. Lucky, we booked the car online and purchase the online insurance (Allianz) with 0 deductible. Otherwise, we have to pay them approx. 1700CAD (replacing entire windshield). I have to repeat again, the stone chip damage is only less than 1cm diameter. Please do NOT use their service again, if you don’t want to get spammed by them!

They will make some form of insurance mandatory but I was prepared with my car insurance policy number that extends to car rentals. This is the worst car rental experience I have had in my 57 years! And I have rented cars in 3rd world countries and Pacific islands. They are nowhere to be found at the Toronto Airport. After searching for 30 minutes, it turned out that there is a phone on the wall in a very specific location where you have to call them to send a van to take you off site. Their base price is low, but they try to gouge you in every turn. They do not provide an electronic tag that allow you to enter the local express toll road without getting fine. All other car rental companies provide that free of charge while they charges $13 per day for it. They would not allow the renter to waive the liability insurance without prove of their own auto insurance - who travels with a copy of their car insurance? No other rental company require that. They push hard to sell me the whole tank of gas, and when I insisted that I don't want it, they wanted me to bring it back I filled and charge me what was used instead. The are a dozen other things I don't have time to get into. It took way over a hour to get the car, and I will have to go at least 30 minutes earlier to the airport because of their location and incredibly bad service. Don't go near this company!

These guys are a scam artist company. We rented a car for 3 days through price line for $33 a day plus taxes. With an additional driver they tacked on an extra $11 a day. . At the end Shan charged us $303 for renting a Honda Civic in which we did under the mileage limit and brought it back on time. When asked why so high his excuse was that it was the difference between US and Canadian prices and that price line, not them, set the prices. For any problems we could call price line, the third party, to dispute. We did and priceline said that this was not true. .They had nothing to do with the price that Fox charged. Fox lied. Shan said that all their fees Came directly from price line and that they had nothing to do with them. They charged an Airport Maintenance Fee and an HST fee all of which are flat fees on price line but they charged and exorbitant percentage at Fox. We now have to dispute these charges with the bank because it was a bait and switch operation in which they falsify their rates from price line and trap you into a agreeing to totally different rates when you pick up the vehicle. At the same time the couple in front of me told Shan that it was a scam and left and to the side if me was another customer that was so unhappy with his returning fee that the cops were called to the scene. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Beware of Fox rental.

It was not worth the trouble going outside the airport for a rental car. I was quoted a great price for my rental and thought the extra time to get to the car rental location was worth it for the amount I was saving. No where can I find on my quote that the promised amount due was in American funds. It cost just as much as it would have if I rented from an on-site location. Car was fine, but not worth the extra money! I won't make this mistake again.

It's an inexpensive car rental place that doesn't hold your hand through the entire process like a better known company would do. You should be prepared with your own insurance, and know the contract before you get to the front desk. When we landed at 4am there was a bit of a wait for the shuttle, perhaps 20-30 minutes. You could just walk the distance to it if you really wanted to, probably a 15 minute walk. Returned the car at off peak hours and didn't need to wait. If you're returning a car at 5 I can imagine it would take awhile. All in all, it's a discount rental place with no frills. Don't expect them to treat you like a child and explain every little detail to you. Know what you're getting into beforehand, plan a little better with the time, and this place is fine.

Worst car rental ever. Scammers liers they quote you for something and charge you for new things later. My original quote was $43 and somehow I ended up paying $90. Please find better alternative option if you want to be happy at end you vacation! They also gave me an accident car that had many dents and the screen did not work, the tank was half full too! Good thing that I noticed and after two times going back and forth with the front desk (worst customer service too) they decided to change the car to a cheaper very basic car. Long story short, I accepted it because I wasted an hour in their office and did not want to ruin my vacation. Avoid this company if you can, take pictures and notes of everything if you can't and always ask what are the charges for!

Very very bad service... I rented a premium car online and at midnight when I went to their place, guy at the counter without any apologizing said I'll get only a compact car... just like that. When I asked why, his reply was "I don't know....". He offered 20% discount but I'm a tall person and I had to drive a small car. I couldn't' care less for that 20% discount. And after that, he gave me the key and said car is outside. Asked me to go take a look at the car for any damage. I had to find the car in heavy snow storm. Very poor service at it's best!

These guys are fraud and scamsters. I booked a mid size which is a Camry or a similar car as I had 4 airline luggage size bags and 2 cabin bags and 2 handbags. The first time I called him he told me that all the cars were rented and I need to go to airport and rent from some other company. After heated arguments, 4 phone calls and 1 hour later he sent a shuttle and he offered a Civic in a take it or leave it kind of way. He told me their company considers the Civic as a midsized car whereas on the itinerary, it clearly said a midsize/Camry or similar. I was with my wife in a new city on a cold night and I took that dirty car under duress as I had no other choice. He also told me I should have rented a minivan. Don't believe their low prices. Their service is pathetic. You will save yourself a lot of trouble and time if you don't do your business with them. Good reviews can be bought, bad reviews are usually honest. A few good reviews don't matter, their poor ratings is so for a good reason.

My 1 Star is a 0 star rating. Very slow pick up from the airport. The driver was a careless driver and the car’s computer was generating a lot of problem/maintenance codes. A lot of extra add on prices. You will have to buy insurance with them regardless of whether or not you have all the rental insurances with your own company. They tell you will need the comprehensive insurance and refuse to explain what it is. Ordered a full size car but got a small Honda Civic, even though I picked up before noon. No compensation was even considered before or when I asked. The condition of the car was okay, at best. Misaligned bumper was literally pushed back into place by the worker so that it appears just fine. The worker tried to explain to me that a fat scratch was just a dirt splatter, to which I told him to wipe it off. When he couldn’t, he finally marked it down as a pre-rental damage. These people are dishonest and immoral. Not worth the few bucks saved.

Stay away from this company as far as possible. This is a small company but has three names: Fox Car rental, E-Z rent a car, and TransCanada Car rent. They appear in different platform, but same story: use all kinds of way to take money from you. I am sure you will pay more than double than what they promise you originally. Because of COVID-19, I did not go inside when return the car. The guy checked the car and said everything is okay. I went home. Next day, I found being overcharged (more than double). Then I contacted them by phone, by email several times, asked for the invoice, but no one care you! Then, I call the credit card company and cancelled my card to prevent being charged again in the future, and also raise the dispute. The credit card company promised me to ask them send me invoice. But I never get invoice. (because of COVID-19, I did not through the call with the credit card company afterward. Every time I made call to credit card company, waited over 1 hour, no real person answered the phone, I have to give up) After 45 days, I received a email from this company saying that then tried to charge me $57 on my credit card but failed ( I cancelled!) because I have a $1 toll route fee!!! For One dollar cost, they tried to charge you $57!! It is the way they do business. in addition, the car condition is terrible. I rented a car with only 5,000km on it, and the guy told me it is new car. however, both front doors are very hard to open and close. I believe the the age of the car is over 5 years. they changed the mileage.

Absolutely brutal rental company. It feels like a set up the moment you walk in the door. Picked us up from the airport in the car we were supposed to rent. The guy wouldn't even do the walk around with us and stated any damage I noticed was 'minor' and didn't need to be documented. Once inside they forced us to take their insurance, due to it being late at night it was impossible to get a copy of our car insurance. The customer service felt more like being swindled and these guys were almost proud about it. In the end we didn't take the car because we coudot deal.woth the scammers. Can't believe Expedia deals with these guys. Do not rent here!!

Not good for car rental, Always you have to pay hidden fees. They fooled people by the cheap price but at the end you're paying 6 times the price. Their insurance is 40$ per day. Even if You have online insurance you will pay 11 $ per day. On to of that it's located outside the airport with shuttle waiting 10-15 minutes.

Renters be prepared for surprise increase in fees once you're at the location for pickup after making reservations online. Insurance is mandatory and cannot be omitted. Kilometers is not unlimited. It is 20c per kilometer after 200 km. It doesnt look like there's a lot of staffing, so be ready to wait for a while. I ended up going to Alamo at the airport location to pick up my rental car instead; for a better price.

I don’t usually review but this experience made us want to review. The rental is really cheap, And yet the people we talked to there all decided they wouldn’t do it again. Some issues we faced: 1- the agency is pretty far from the terminals and the shuttles are pretty infrequent (their recommendation is to return the car about one hour before the time you need to be at the airport!). If you are in a hurry, consider an Uber to get there or from there (~CA$10 each way) 2- The car was pretty bumped up, and had not been cleaned since the last renters (or last several renters, who knows). This is not an issue but just unpleasant. 3- It was noteworthy that every single person ahead of us in the line, both at pick up and at return, was displeased with their experience and arguing with the agency. Every one! 4- When we returned the car, we told the person receiving the car that we were slightly short of the 3/4 tank which we had gotten the car at, very slightly short and they charged us a quarter tank (most agencies would do that to be fair and we should have been more careful). What annoyed us in this interaction was that we specifically told the young man receiving the car that we would go fill the car if this was going to be charged. He checked the car and told us that is was fine, not a big deal. Well, he lied. While telling us it was fine, he actually wrote down the charge...

NOW I HAVE TO SPEND TIME TO GET THINGS CLEARED. i blame Travelocity to have these type of agenices. will avoid them next time or better be carefull and be prepared to spend some extra time.

It took me one hour until their shuttle picked me up although they were 3 minutes away, when I finally arrived I waited another 40 minutes until they finished with only one customer, in my reservation in was mentioned unlimited mileage which the guy disagreed, also he asked for a mandatory coverage which increased my total dramatically, much more than what I had booked, if there is a mandatory coverage it should be included in fees and charges during reservation. I didn't get the car and left with great frustration although they didn't care at all. be careful with cheap reservations .

AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!... NOT AT THE AIRPORT !!!.. the run around to find the shuttle wasted over an hour of my time. Not to mention the number in the email was NOT IN SERVICE. Made serveral calls and finally was given the right number....After locating the shuttle the driver put everyones bags into the shuttle except mine. "Im on off work due to a back injury" he refused to put my bags in so i had to. The shuttles seat belt did not work and the driver drove like a maniac . When he dropped us off at the rental place he refused to take my bags out of the shuttle... the driver was very rude with everyone on board. From the time i got my bags to getting into the rental 1:40 minutes had past. I made a complaint against the shuttle driver as well as my experience. They apologized and gave me a discount

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY I would give them 0 if I could. The worst company I have ever dealt with. They require proof of insurance, which they tell you only when you get there so you have to purchase their insurance which I'm sure they get a hefty kick back from. No other rental company requires this. I incurred a toll fee of $5 and they charged me $50 service fee!! The customer service was horrible. They just don't care. Been here an hour trying to rent a car with 6 people total in line. You have to show them the rental on the phone as they are not automated and have no clue or your rental. They push their insurance, if you use your credit card insurance they still make you get the comprehensive on top of it, you don't have the option to opt out. They make it your responsibility to inspect and point out damage. They keep a photocopy of your driver's license as again not automated. Can only imagine how bad their storage of personal data is. Luckily I wasn't renting, bringing a person that rented. Fox, right cars, and e-z rental all the same place. They say it's mandatory to buy their insurance as the insurance on the credit card isn't adequate. Limitation is 200km per day, but if renting for a week it's only 1000km, or about 140km per day for the week.

Horrible service. They completely ruined our trip. I don't understand why they accept reservations even they don't have a car. Booked 3 weeks ago, I couldn't rent a car due to out of stock. Very unfriendly service and they never apologize it. Especially a rude chinese woman ignored me when I tried to ask some questions. The worst rental car service experience in my life. If you book the car with this small guys, you are in very high risk of getting unacceptable customer service and trip cancellation. I supposed to check below reviews before I booked a car.

Let me start with a ONE star is even a gift to them but it’s manditory to choose it in order to write a review. WORST CAR RENTAL PLACE. DO NOT rent a car from this there. They are a bunch of thieves that lie about pricing. I was suppose to be charged $68 dollars for a three day rental, however, when I returned the car they told me it was $124 because they added on their liability insurance meanwhile my infinity visa covers collision insurance and one of the untrained staff had told me that you can opt out if your visa covers rental insurance. Due to the place looking sketchy as hell, I made sure and asked the staff member if I will be paying only $68 dollars and there are no hidden fees and he had said no just $68 upon return. Do yourselves a favour and do not rent from this place trust me I had the worst feeling when I left with the car. They are thieves, liars, trash bags and completely unprofessional. If I lived beside there I would serious protest against them and try to shut that business down. Save yourselves the headache and heartache people do not rent from. LETS SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN!!!!!!!!

Please rent from anywhere but ez car rental. When I reserved our full size SUV for our Canadian vacation I thought the money I was saving by using ez car rental would be worth the risk. Well it wasn’t. We arrived to pick up our reservation and the rude man behind the counter informed us they don’t even have the rental we reserved. He will be happy to put my family of 5 and all of our luggage in a midsize suv for a discount of $9.00. Needless to say this will not work for us and I quickly searched for a reputable company and they were able to get us a rental that would work. I ended up paying more money because of the last minute nature of the situation. Please think before you rent from this company.

I have booked a Toyota RAV4 for 5 days rent last month. It was a last minute booking done through their website. The rate I have received was cheaper compare to other rental agencies. Since there were lot of customers waiting there to collect the vehicle or return the vehicle, I have waited for 15 minutes to speak to their customer service representative. After filling out the booking form, they have informed me that I need to buy 3rd party insurance of 10 CAD per day on addition to the rental amount mentioned in my booking. Waited for 30 minutes to collect my car. Finally the vehicle has arrived. They have given me Jeep Wrangler instead of RAV4. The vehicle was very clean and done only 2000 KM. Eventhough I had booked an economy car, I have received a performance car. I really enjoyed the wrangler trips eventhough I need to add the gas at regular intervals. It took nearly 10 minutes for me to return the car. They provide car to Canada G2 licence holders.

Always check for.damage , scratch dent., spare tire and other emergency tools. They rented me van without spare tire, claiming it underneath..0nce checked.there.was no spare tire. That I could have to pay for upon return. That probably got paid my next renter claiming he lost the tire from underneath. I will never rent it from them ever .

Very far from airport. They missed my order. At last they found my car, but it was uncleaned and smelled like a cigarette. When we give back the car, they say the shuttle guy well be back in 20-25 minits. I said we are in a hurry. In 20 minits the guy came out FROM THE OFFICE! Didn't want to help with baggages. Meanwhile my cab arrived, so we went to the airport by cab. I will never again rent from this company, and suggest this for enibody else.

This place is a joke. Never rent from here. And if you do, and they give you a Blue Honda Civic it has the smallest chip in the windshield. They forced me to make an insurance claim for this tiny little chip. We picked up our car late at night and they rushed us through the walkthrough in the dark. Never had a single rock hit the windshield so it must have been there before. I wouldnt be surprised if they keep doing this scam and keep renting the car while the insurance claim goes through.

This agency preys on the fact that if you do not land by 11pm everyone else is closed. We arrived at the shuttle pickup point and had to wait over 30 minutes. Once we arrived and had proceeded out to inspect the car, the representative was hurried and was very impolite while I pointed out the many scratches and damages on the vehicle including tape hold in a recently replaced windshield. The ac in the vehicle was uncharged and did not work and there was damage to the front bumper from an obvious collision. When we tried to return the vehicle they informed us that they do not provide refunds however a thorough search of their site and Expedia.ca nor the contract provided had any mention of a cancellation policy. Over all the experience here has to be the worst experience I have encountered for rentals. They also inflate their charges claiming that the taxes around the airport are 30%. So please do not use this company. As you will see this is the only review I have ever posted so that tells you the bad taste left in my mouth by this experience.

Basically the worst service anyone could imagine. Waited well over an hour and a half for their bus to pick us up. (The car rental place is not in the airport, super frustating). Then when we finally got to the rental place they didn't have our SUV, so into a small car we went. Oh and while we did some of the paperwork another employee was fighting verbally with another customer for what seemed like forever. All in all, a nightmare.

Should only get negative stars. Never, never rent from this company! This place is operated by Indian immigrants. You are pre-warned: The hidden fees will shock you once you return your car if you think the base rate is low. I was quoted around $250 as the weekly base rate, then I had to pay above $800 in total when the car was returned. Go with the other reputable car rentals because they are more honest.

Service was horrible! The check in agents were very rude. I was informed after I arrived that they would have to hold $500cad for security purposes and it was mandatory that I pay for an additional insurance after purchasing an Insurance when I initially booked it online. Was told when I dropped the car off that it takes 3-5 working days for the hold to be released. I informed the gentleman that I was from the Bahamas and my ID and home address confirmed this as well. When I returned the car I asked for some confirmation that the hold was released since I paid however I was brushed after and was told it was done and they cant gave me a confirmation. I made contact with EZ 5 days later and a rude guy who answered said oh no 7-10 working days. Called back the 11th day because there was still a hold on my account. I paid for the car with another card so the bank stated they will need some confirmation from EZ that the car was paid and they could release the money. This was because the hold was far larger than the cost of the car. A gentleman by name of Malek/ Malik said they can not send any email to Scotia confirming my payment and I will have to wait. No customer service.

They charged me 4 times the advertised rate. 2 months after i rented the car I received an additional charge of $80 claiming it was a toll fee. when i checked into it they sent a statement showing the toll fee cost was $7.35 They are not located at the airport and the shuttle bus service was horrible.

The worst car rental service ever! They use the cheap car rental price to lure you in and make the reservation, but they do not have cars available at all. I saw their car rental information, and frankly I did fall for their cheap price. Though, I notice their off-airport location, and I am willing to take extra steps. The instructions to get to their place is very confusing, plus the service was terrible! Once we arrive there with our reservation, they just ask us to wait until they have a car getting back. The initial approximated waiting time is beyond 1-2 hours and they said there is no guarantee that you will get a car after 1-2 hours. LOL. It is not just us waiting, there are at least 5 more groups waiting at the same time. We did not stay and use their service, so I cannot provide a number of hours of waiting. Save your time, as your time is way more valuable than the price difference you pay if you use other car rental companies. They only got one thing great that is their driver, a very friendly and smiling Asian man. Other than that, awful experience! I will never ever think about use their service any more! (If there is a rating of zero, i will definitely select zero star for them. )

Horrible experience. Price may be good but I have contacted the Better Business Bureau on this company. 1. Waited at the Toronto AIrport location approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes to get my car and then after this had to wait to get a shuttle to take me to an offsite lot to get my car (another 15 minutes). 2. While in line for over an hour heard two people returning saying the bill was much higher than their quote. FYI, some sites quote in USD. One guy was disputing scratches on the car (who knows). 3. The guy persisted on me buying and needing insurance, advised I already had and he tried to say it was comprehensive coverage only but it wasn't until I started getting angry that he backed off. ($30 a day for insurance). 3. When I returned they inspected the car and all was well. They tried to point out some scatches on the trunk but I took a video and picutres when I took the car and showed her and she backed off. Asked for a receipt and was told it would be emailed. 4. Booked a car with unlimited mileage. Got my receipt and it was $140 more than the quote, the confirmation showed "unlimited mileage" and when I called I was told "no it is 200 kms per day". Advised I had the confirmation in email and all their rentals online show unlimited mileage and they said "I needed to read the fine print". 5. Now I am disputing the charge with my credit card company and the better business bureau. Rent from somewhere else as this company is very bad in customer service and I would certainly not rent from them again. SM

There were no brush to clean snow from car windows, and the window flush did not work. The car was W, which was stopping engine on each traffic light, but the fan was continue blowing (with cold air when engine stop). So, it was really cold inside the car, although the temperature was set to highest grade. When booking the car online, I was promised unlimited milage, but when pick up the car I was surprised that only 200 km per a day. Also, when booking the car online, I call the location and was told, that it takes 5 minutes to get to the rental location by shuttle. But in reality, I had to wait for the shuttle after telephone call for 25 minutes. But hey, what did you expect for $30 ?

Do NOT rent a car from this place. I had originally booked a luxury SUV using Expedia but when I reached the airport, they informed me that they didn't have the car I booked....but they had a 2018 Dodge Caravan instead. We waited 25 min for a shuttle and finally reached the rental place. We went to see the car and lo and behold, it's this filthy 2015 Dodge Caravan. Such a blatant lie. Since this location is not at the actual airport, we were stuck with all my friends and luggage. What choice did we have? To go back to the airport (where all the other rental car agencies are) would take another half hour. We didn't have time. Not wanting to leave my friends stranded and waiting, and given that there were other people waiting for our arrival, I said I would take the car, but guess what? Hidden fees. hidden fees. Hidden fees. Unbelievable. Not only did they have the audacity to overbook their car, give me a subpar older vehicle, they included hidden fees as well. I'm on the phone with Expedia right now and will demand a refund. I refuse to pay these scammers what they're charging me. It's unacceptable, unprofessional, and worthy of all the fury EZ has brought to all the customers who've written a review on here.

Read the fine print. I was prepared to walk to the link train and wait at Viscount. I called the shuttle, and they said it was on the way. Outside, another man told me he was waiting for 45 Minutes already for the same shuttle. After 15 minutes, a shuttle came, we asked if he was for EZ rentals or TransCanada Rentals and he said NO. After another 10 minutes, I tired to call them again and got a recording that their mailbox was full. The same happened for that man. So I called an Uber. It was $8. Once I arrived, the same shuttle that told us it wasn’t for EZ rentals or TransCanada Rentals showed up with that man inside! It took 20 minutes to get the rental. It’s was a brand new Mazda and I was impressed with the car. I was only charged exactly what was quoted. I did need to provide proof of my own insurance. But again, I read the fine print and was prepared for that. Drop off was quick and easy. The shuttle was there but we opted to Uber. He loaded and unloaded all our bags onto a cart and dropped us right at the West Jet entrance. It was worth the $15 not to have to go all through the airport and take the link train from Viscount station.

They charge a 50CAD service charge, PLUS TAX for paying tolls (which they don't allow you to pay on the spot for). Complete scam, atrocious service. Avoid at all cost!!

I booked via kayak and as I got there they informed me I have to buy the insurance (even though my credit card provides rental vehicle insurance). The cost ended up tripling!!!! They had picked me up from the airport and I was stuck with no choice but to take it. I originally booked for CAD$76 with the “mandatory” insurance I ended up paying CAD$187!

This location will not rent a car unless you have extremely high insurance limits which it states are required by Canadian law (which is not correct). They have lower than market rates but then want to charge and extra $29.95 per day for their insurance coverage which isn't even as good as your regular car insurance and secondary insurance (which if you ever had a claim they would hit those first). Scam rental location that should not be peddled by the travel sites like Orbitz/Expedia.

Good, new car. Very shady and sketchy service. I was forced to buy extra insurance, not listed on the booking website, for third party liability even though I have insurance with AAA. They also made me give a deposit of $1200 Canadian. This is the first time I have ever need to do these things when compared to more condonation car dealers, such as Hertz and Alamo. All the transactions just felt shady and sketchy. I would recommend using more popular car rental services that are located directly at the airport.

Do NOT rent from EZ-Car Rentals aka Trans Canada Car rentals an off-site service at Pearson Airport. Using a consolidator service, the price quoted was $48.04, however, at their discretion, if paying by credit card, they add $15/day mandatory insurance. My credit card already has all required insurance coverage and are required to decline their insurance - but they won't let you rent unless you take their insurance. When I complained this was fraud, they dropped the insurance to $11/day. They say it's clearly laid out in the contract.... it is NOT, it says "may have mandatory, local insurance requirements". IT does NOT specify when or how much. It's deceptive, its wrong. Oh, almost forgot about EZ Car Rental Damage Scam.... they didn't get me but after handing me the keys, the car in the dark, I insisted we inspect the car together and while I was going over the front of the car with my flashlight, the agent races around it and say's "Yep, all is good" and goes back inside. When I got to the driver side rear door, there's a 15" really obvious paint scratch, so I haul the guy back outside to show him and get the "surprise look" ... "Oh, not sure how I missed that" .....yeah... right..... I made them mark on the rental agreement this was prior damage. On returning the vehicle, I again insisted they come outside and go over the vehicle together and sign off that there was no further damage - which they did. DO NOT TRUST these people. This EZ Car Rental is a SCAM artist at work. BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE!!!! Simply do NOT rent from these people!!!

We asked for the total amount over the phone prior to booking and it was half of what they charged us and we also told them exactly when we are picking up and dropping off and they charged us for an extra day but over the phone gave us a different price plus all these extra taxes they charged! It made me wait for 1/2h for the pickup shuttle and another 1/2h at the office. When returned the car, they made the drop-off process another 1/2h and I had to order my own taxi and almost missed my flight. I later found on the invoice some hidden charges which makes their prices no cheaper than the bigger named and more conveniently located rental companies. One month later, they charged me $145 on my credit card. After months long dispute, they explained that I used the HW toll service twice for a total $45 and everytime the HW occurred a fee, EZ charged me a $50 "admin fee" which is BS! I used Enterprise for the same route in the same month and they only billed me $14 including HW fee and "admin fee" compared with EZ's $145. Stay away from EZ car rental, they are scammers!

I rented a Lincoln Navigator on June 20 but my flight was delayed. I called ez to make sure they kept my car and the agent told me. “No problem, your car will be here”. When I got there around 12:15 am An Indian rude man assisted to me and told me “there is no car for you. Sorry you need to rent another one” and of course for a higher price. while he talked to me he neither watched my face which I consider disrespectful and I left the place very disappointed and went to another company Avis and found a good car. This ez rent a car was dirty, and car fleet looked poor quality and old car. I don’t recommend this company at all. Also, they are not inside the airport and you need to take a shuttle who takes a long time waiting. To get ez rent a car is a labyrinth basically. And you have to call them and most of the time they don’t answer the phone. I hope my experience be useful for you.

All the negative reviews are 100% true. Nothing but hidden fees. They appear to be the cheapest when you book online, but they slam you with hidden insurance fees when you get there, that are 'mandatory' or else you can not rent the car. Regardless of what the online booking site says. Even if you have your own credit card insurance. It's for Third Party coverage that extends beyond your Credit Card (apparently) On top of that, they tell you that you have limited mileage with a charge for every extra km over their lousy allowance - also not advertised when you book online. They trap you because they know you have no other options around, as they are NOT located at the airport. You need to take a train, and then wait 25mins for a shuttle, which you need to arrange for yourself. I had no choice but to follow-through with the charges as we just got off a red-eye and my kids were already cranky. Customer service was non-existent as they were extremely rude, incompassionate and unprofessional. You can even tell by their make-shift office/location that they're a poorly run company. Do NOT book with E-Z Car Rental / Trans Canada car rental in Toronto (Airport Road). Just check their Google reviews. I bet their 1 or 2 good reviews are bogus.

Not a happy customer here. They would not accept the insurance through my credit card, and of course I didn't have my own car insurance information on me so I had to pay $11.95 extra a day. When I returned the car there was a chip on the windshield . After checking over some of the reviews appear to be quite common for their returns, they charged me $1400 CA to replace the entire windshield. I think they have some kind of scam going on there, there are two other reviews about chips in the windshield . I may have to call the Canadian better business bureau. I'm just hoping visa or my own car insurance can help me with my claim, or I'm out $1,010 US. I will have to contact Mazda to see how much a new windshield really cost, because that price does not make sense to me. Stay away form E-Z car rental the cost is initially cheap, but in the end it can be quite costly.

Worst car rental experience I've ever had. I should have checked the reviews from others before I chose to rent from this company. Firstly, this company is not located in the Pearson airport, I had to take a $22/taxi to get to this location. Secondly, they price gouge you on their insurance and don't let you leave with the car until you agree or pay a $50.00 cancellation fee. Thirdly, their staff are extremely rude and unpleasant. Lastly, they have 3 additional charges that they sneak on to the bill such as an $11/day unknown charge, $6.95/licensing fee and an unknown 18% charge; my $89 three day rental turned into $203.58.

Stay away from this place! We rented online and paid an upgrade for a premium car. The only cars they had available were Hyundai sonatas. They did not care and told us this is all they have. When we arrived were next in line, but it took them almost an hour to get us a car because they kept processing everyone in line and before you knew it, the whole lobby was filled with people waiting for cars. I don’t even think they had enough cars and kept people waiting for when people returned cars. They were hurrying to get them cleaned and rented out to us. They might be a little cheaper, but it’s not worth it! Rent somewhere else!

Horrible place. The price I reserved the car for was changed since I was driving "out of the province." Then they charged me per kilometer rather than the unlimited mileage as listed. After that, I had to wait over an hour to get my rental car. They forgot that I was sitting in the lobby as instructed by the rep. It wasn't until I got up and asked about the car twice that I received assistance. Then when I got in the car, after 15 minutes of driving the car alerted that it had low tire pressure and window washer fluid. I was already on the road so I had to do a detour. At the end of the day, I would NEVER recommend this place. They list lower prices and add charges when you arrive.

Not impressed. Wait times are long and there is a $500 holding fee for the car, which doesn't get mentioned until you are there. My car was good, not super clean, but ok, however my suitcase was broken on the way back to the airport in the shuttle and when I called the company I was told that there is nothing they can do about it. With the result that I now get to lugg a broken carry on suitcase through the Toronto airport (one of the wheels got completely ripped off) and have to replace my suitcase. Expensive car rental after all... Very poor customer service.

Worst car rental experience. First I watched them steam rolling people into getting rental insurance coverage. Then when the cat came out it was filthy inside and out. The cup holders were full of gunk. Seats were filthy with dog hair. Driver's seat had a cigarette burn hole and smelt like smoke. Car had rock chip and scratches all over it. The plastic valance on the passenger side was ripped half off. Windshield was cracked and the rear window wouldn't go up the entire way. They make you do your own vehicle walk around and don't mark the damage down properly. The entire experience was shady, definitely scammers.

You cannot even imagine how incompetent those guys are! Kept trying to get my forgotten keys back. 8 months later, still not have my keys and even worst, they lost my keys while I definitely knew they had them according to a guy that described my keys one time! He tagged my name on it apparently, I tried to get them back, just impossible... It makes absolutely no sense to deal with people that so useless

I reserved a car from this company through Orbitz. My flight was delayed. I arrived late at Toronto airport. When I called this company to pick me up to their location. They notified me that they have canceled my reservation because I was late more than 2 hours. They also have rented my reserved car to other people. There were no more car available. My family was strained ay the airport. There was no car rental company opens in the middle of a night. Reading throughout my contracton the reservation email, there was no provision or warning or notice that the rental company can cancel my reservation after two hours of scheduled arrival. But, if I need to cancel I have to do so 72 hours before the pick up date. I called Orbitz and EZ car rental, neither of them can help me. My family had to take a taxi to our hotel. Reserved another car rental (from ACE Discount, a lot better company) which costed me more for such a short notice. And cost another taxi trip to go pickupthe car rental on the next day. Don't ever rent from this company. It has BAD customer service, bad hidden policy.

We had a fantastic experience with E-Z car rental at the Toronto Airport. We arrived 9 hours after our checkin time on Aug 31. When I phoned to extend our pickup time explaining my traveling companion was just getting over a heart attack, they were extremely sympathetic & the staff went above & beyond to ensure there was a car for us. On returning the car, they were equally professional. The car was clean, & in good running order. I would definitely recommend them if travelling to Toronto.

I wish I could give at least ZERO stars Customer Service = What does it mean?!? They really don't know. They speak their own language when talking about customers... The booking website recommends a Allianz insurance but they didnt want to recognize that insurance trying to sell more(push, push, push)... I was second in line and it took about an hour or so to be served...

We booked this rental through and just before our trip I read the reviews online. Not was I worried about our trip after that. Not too many people have nice things to say about them. As this was the 2nd time we have rented from them we knew about the train ride to the viscount station and the shuttle ride. So we opted for a cab instead. Yes it cost us 20 bucks but it was way easier and faster. 5 minute ride. We walked up to the counter, showed the clerk our papers from the booking including the paper with the insurance we bought online at the time of booking. The whole pickup experience was very fast and easy. 15 minutes after arriving we drive our Santa Fe off the lot. Here is a little bit of advice for some people. You have to get insurance if you rent a car. If you buy it ahead of time ( which is cheaper than on the counter) print everything out so you have proof of insurance when you show up. They're not going to take your word for it. It helps everyone if you got your ducks in a row before you show up to pickup your car. Which makes your wait in the line not just for you quicker, also for the peoole behind you waiting to get there turn. Bringing the car back at the end of the trip was just as easy as the pickup. Took 15 minutes at the most. Including letting another guy skip the line in front of us because he was late for his flight. Honestly, we can't complane about one single thing. Great experience. We will definitely rent again from Ez Car Rental. Good service all the way!!!

Scamed by them. Our one time Toronto 407 highway Toll charge just about $9. But they add other car's bills to our bill. Our Toll charge was added a list of charges with different license plates and charges beyound our travel time. So one toll charge about $9 increased to $81. Not to mention they charge all kinds of fees and surcharges so in the end , I pay 4-5 times their posted price. And those extra kilometers , I paid $1.4 per kilometer. $14/day for another driver. If you decide to use their services just prepare to pay a lot more than you bargain for. Be very careful !!!.

They charged me $80 extra for travelling on a toll hwy. I asked for the receipt to confirm the charge...it was never sent. I would suggest elsewhere. Initial cost for rental may be appealing, but buyer beware for those 'hidden' costs at their discretion.

We booked for a Ford Taurus two weeks in advance and they didn't have it when we showed up. We had to upgrade to the Rogue which costs and additional $100 for our 5 days. Dashboard warned the back left tire was under pressure and they couldn't fix it so I took it to the gas station and did it myself. Found chewed up seeds and a popsicle stick in the car. Washer fluid was empty and we we're forced to buy it. Bad service, lied to on booking, dirty car, flat tires and empty fluids, and wait times to pick up was too long. Definitely not going here again

My customer service representative Shan offered a discount of 5% on my rental when I picked up the car. The wait was long. This place is not at the airport so you have to wait to be picked up after taking a train to the pick up location. Renters be aware, there are hidden fees and advertised information is false. There is a charge if you go out of province and the mileage is NOT unlimited. It was my worse experience ever. Never again.

AVOID AVOID AVOID OMG AVOID!! they gave away my SUV and tried to charge me for a Honda civic at the same rate. My flight was late, and for that reason he gave away my car. Blamed me and said I didn't add my flight # to the reservation ( which I did). Tell me to call the next day for the car I want. I call, tell me they won't have any SUVs until 3:30 and offered me a 10% discount off the base. They must be crazy!! That's $10! So I return the car at noon and now mysteriously have a couple SUVs available. I said he'll no take your car, and went to a different rental company. Screw you guys. THEN they charged me at the rate of an SUV for the one day! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! AVOID!!!

Horrible experience! like everybody else says, DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE! They tried selling me the insurance that was mandatory. We argued back and forth with me telling him that I did not needed it since i'm fully insured through my credit card. Eventually he said okay, and moved on from tried to stiff me on that. Then, when I booked on priceline, it said "unlimited mileage". He said its only 200km per day unless "you're staying in the province. The additional mileage is a 0.20/km rate which can easily add up fast. The car itself wasn't cleaned properly, had a huge scratch on the windshield, and approximately 60,000 km! When I brought back the car, he charged me an extra day "as a mistake" in which i automatically caught on and he then removed it. All this to say that a supposedly 200$ rental cost me 335$ with their extra hidden costs!! That is not acceptable. In my waiting time, I also heard other people renting vehicles online just to be told at the counter that they do not and have never had them. Anyways... STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

The absolute WORST rental company I have ever dealt with. I never post things like this online when I’m unhappy but people need to be aware. DO NOT rent cars from them. Customer service is horrible they could care less about the consumer and they like to charge for unnecessary things. Save the headache and spend the money with a rental company that doesn’t treat you like a number.

Scammers and liars. The agent told us we HAD to pay mandatory insurance because our insurance only covered one insurance portion. After asking for details and clarification of our Expedia rental confirmation he told us it all added up because we received such a great promotion. Meanwhile when we dropped off the car they charged us more than double what they told us it would be: $150 instead of $70! Now that's a deal!? Given what most others have also experienced it seems cheating customers is their corporate philosophy. On top of it all, it was incredibly difficult to get through to them to get picked up at the airport as their location is off-site.

I ESCAPED!!! I booked these guys online through Expedia and these guys were over $300 cheaper then the other rentals. When I arrived there they said unlimited km is not for locals hence I was allowed only 200km on top of that I had to get third party liability Insurence. I said not a chance. I rent quite a few times a month so I know how these things work. So finally after arguing I called Expedia and they were able to help me out. And canceled my reservation and refund the amount back to me (it's not on my card yet but should be in a few days). I just went to budget and got a car. Never again!!!

RUN AWAY from this location. I should have checked the rating and read people's comments. There are more people rating 1 than all people rating 1 2 3 or 4! You can figure out that people who rated 5 are themselves as they're new profiles who have only 1 rating and it's for the car rental company only. I rented a full size car and they downgraded me without even discounting the price. When I complained they offered me another car but still the lower class. They tried to force me buy their insurance but I refused. I also rented the car with unlimited mileage as advertised on the website and they charged me for extra miles pretending that unlimited mileage is only for international drivers. At the end I paid more than renting from anywhere else.

The car was in good shape and clean and when I reminded them of the price quoted on Expedia when I booked the car they gave it to me at that price without comment. It is true they are not the most cheerful group of people but they were not rude either. I saved $100 by getting the car here as apposed to a rental agency directly in the airport so it was worth the extra time it took. Figure on adding an extra 30 minutes for pickup and drop off.

E-Z car rental, Fox car rental, Trans Canada car rental, Payless car rental....do not use. For starters, they're not located in the airport like they show on some websites. And good luck getting a hold of them, I called every number I could find associated with them and even an emergency line, they never picked up (they were open at this time). When I finally got in a very expensive taxi and was able to find a location (numerous misleading locations online) they were closed and a letter was posted to the door to call another number and go to a different location. I called that number and was told they closed 10 minutes ago and there was nothing he could do. Terrible customer service, good luck getting to talk to anyone in person or knowing where to go. DO NOT USE, not worth the discounted rate.

Rented a car in Montreal (Dorval location) but had to cancel the reservation. The car was filthy and smelling. Cancelled the reservation but they still charged me for the entire trip and the account manager tried to patronize me. Very disrespectful and unprofessional. As a frequent traveler, this is by far the worst experience I have ever had. Not worth these cheap price.... Wonder why it's cheap.

This place is a scam. Not only wanted proof on insurance they wanted the actual insurance policy. I have rented cars all over the world and never had anyone ask me to see the entire insurance policy!! Drivers license and proof of insurance is all that anyone has ever asked for. And the insurance they sell you cost 1.5x the daily rate to rent the car!! As everyone else has mentioned the shuttle is not only slow it does not drop off/pick up at the airport. You have to take the monorail off airport property to get to the shuttle. Trust me this place is not worth it. Pay more to rent from another rental car company.

Worst car rental ever. I have never received such bad service. I booked for a day with their $18/day deal and received 141$ at the end. You are obligated to show your car insurance to them so if you didn't bring it, you are required to pay for their basic car insurance which is said to be 11$ but when I received the bill, it was 40$. It's better to go Hertz or National than this untrustworthy company. Aside from that, a down payment of 500$ is demanded which was not requested when I rented a car with National car rental. It is therefore my first time getting asked by a car rental for 500$ as down payment. I basically experienced the same as the other customers here. On top of that, as I said, i book my car rental for 18$ online and when I asked why it went to 141$, they listed all the prices and to my surprise, my car rental was 40$ per day!!!! I only used the car from 8pm to 4am and got charges for that prize which I obviously have a receipt of 18$ only. They are truly thieves and unprofessionals! Unfriendly staff as well. They accomodate you in the beginning and when you get the bill and you demand an explanation, they suddenly disappear. I was asked to call between 10am to 3pm for a manager to complain about the price. But, how can I complain when my flight was at 6am? Seriously, I don't recommend this car rental at all. You'll have a headache and won't enjoy your vacation after they charge you hidden fees. When you thought it was the cheapest car rental then next thing you know, you pay much more. It is preferrable to go to National.

There’s a reason this place has such a low rating, the location has no sense of service they spring surprise charges on you when you get there and their response is read the fine print. The agents are not helpful or even friendly. I was brought to check my car in the dark in a corner and thankfully my friend found a HUGE dent because if I had missed it Who knows what they would charge me. They put a $500 authorization on your credit cards immediately and then you can pay upon drop off. Pay the difference and book at a major rental car company and avoid the anxiety from booking here! It’s not worth the discount!!!

RIP OFF!! This is the worst company EVER!! Terrible customer service and must work off commission as there are so many hidden charges. Like: You need to get their insurance, even if you have insurance. This is a total rip off and the "Service" charge if you accidentally use a toll road. Not worth the hassle, it seems like a good deal comparing to other car rental companies but BEWARE it will cost you even more to rent from this company. Total RIP OFF!!

It is a bit long review but worth your time reading. Please read all of it before considering giving away your money to this company. The low costs of this rental company caught my eye and influenced by decision to rent a car from here. When I got to the Mississauga location to pick up the car, they claimed that because I got there an hour earlier, they were going to charge A DAY EXTRA just because I went to pick up the car an hour earlier. This made no sense as I told them I was going to return the car at 8:30pm on the return date for sure. From my experience in renting cars from other companies, I assumed the logical route was a customer would be charged an extra day in the event that they RETURN the car later. I asked the person to adjust the time in their system but he refused to change it because he told me the system wouldn't allow him to. So I just signed the form, took the car and left. When I tried to return the car at Trudeau airport, the address which EZ Car Rental gave us through their email was non-existent so it took longer than usual to figure out where the company was. We didn't know they would close after 5pm (an airport location). When we finally got to the location, there was a sign on the door saying "Please return the car and keys to Eco Lodge" so we then went to Eco Lodge. Upon arriving at Eco Lodge, we asked for a confirmation receipt that we have returned the car, but the employee there refused to give any proof that we in fact did drop the car and key and also CLAIMED THAT THEY DID NOT WORK FOR EZ CAR RENTAL IN AN EXTREAMELY RUDE ATTITUDE, TAND JUST TOLD US THAT THE CAR AND KEY WERE STILL OUR RESPONSIBILITY. This was absurd so I asked to speak to the manager because the girl at the front desk of Eco Lodge was extremely rude. When I asked her where her customer service skills were, she responded with: "for a customer like you, there is no service". The manager said the same thing and we had no choice but to take the car and wait for the next day. We called EZ Car Rental's customer service who told us that the policy at EZ Car Rental in Montreal was different from them (what??). As a result, we got charged for an extra day and have not received a refund. TL;DR: There are hidden costs in this company.They did it on purpose. Before you make the reservation, they do not tell you truth. Customer service is non-existent in this company. Moral of story: DO.NOT. I repeat: DO NOT rent a car from this company.
