Great little place to rent a car. We stopped at Susie's mopeds, but they were going to be closed within the hour. They directed us to this little car rental place where we were able to rent a smart car for $60 (about the same price it was to rent one of the two seater moped things) and we were able to see the whole island over the course of four hours. I definitely recommend this place.

We were told an additional hour was $7 and upon arrival they charged us $13 (higher for convertibles but they should have checked). The internet was down and we were asked to find an ATM to pay for our rental. Unprofessional.

Johnny Berg at M & W Auto is the best! After a terrible and scary accident with a deer yesterday, my van is out of commission for a while now. Today, Johnny got me into a great rental at M &W, and after setting up the rental, he quickly and efficiently cleaned not only the inside, but also the outside, of the car for me...with a smile and awesome attitude the whole time! As he pulled the car around for me to get in, I gave him a hug and he wished me the best and then he whisked off to help the next set of customers that had walked in as he was pulling my rental around. He is such a sincere and personable gem of a person and employee, and his service was impeccable, and it made my day!!! Thank you, Johnny, for making such a terrible experience yesterday into such a positive one today!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. If I could leave no stars, I would. RUN AWAY FAST AND FAR. We arrived in Orcas Island and they had us searching for the car we had reserved in the lot for 30 minutes, the car was not there. They had us wait an additional hour and a half for another car (smaller than what we needed but we were desperate) and that car also never showed up. They would hang up, not call us back, and not answer when we called for help. They were rude, made us late to our weekend wedding event, and left us stranded as no other cars were available. We had made our reservations well in advance and rather than help us, they left us stranded trying to figure out how we were going to travel for the weekend wedding events without a car on Orcas Island.

Customer service is really unprofessional on how they handle especially the old guy that was so grumpy and answers with no respect. He said they have their insurance but they won't give it to me which makes no sense at all. Made us drive to bring their car to their shop and told us we can't rent a car then left us to the point where we needed to get a taxi just to go back to where we were.

Old cars, unprofessional staff, and horrible customer service. I tried booking a car via the phone and the lady seemed to be irritated if I ask any question about the car. Moreover, she was incessantly telling me to hurry up with my call saying its a busy day. Ughh.. horrible experience.

This place made our trip! Super simple last minute rental. We were trying to figure out the bus on the island when our hotel recommended M&W. With 4 people in our group, the price was similar and our day was completely freed up! Added bonus, the car came with a Discover Pass, so we didn't have that as an extra expense. Fastest rental I've ever done.

I visited here about a year ago and need to rent a car. I wasn't sure where to look as I had never been here before so I simply checked Google. I called and she was able to give me a quote over the phone before I even got there. She was absolutely nice and got everything taken care of. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone visiting this place!

We decided to rent a car after the ferry was full. The prices were really reasonable and they even had a baby seat. The cars have some character but our family will always remember the lazy boy on wheels but I doubt we will remember the last car we got from Hertz. The staff were friendly and will even pick you up from the information office downtown. If you choose to walk it's about a half mile from downtown.

Decided to rent a car… Spur of the moment… They were very reasonable and extremely helpful. Would definitely recommend renting a car from them as it makes the island much more accessible. It’s much more economical than taking a few cab rides. These are some very sweet people

The owner Wendy has run a tight ship for years and is pleasant to deal with..She has a nice assortment of rental cars and will pick up customers at the ferry landing and is always going full bore to make your transportation needs pleasant..No better way to see the san Juan Islands during your visit

M&W Auto double charged my credit card for 8/31/18 vehicle rental, and have not been cooperative in refunding me for the duplicate charge. In addition to calls to M&W with no answer, I called 9/26/18 and left a detailed message regarding this, and requested refund. 10/17/18 I sent a detailed email regarding this, requesting refund. No reply to either, and no refund back. 11/23/18 I called credit card merchant and filed claim for refund of duplicate charge. Hopefully I will receive a credit in a month or two. Rental car worked OK and rate was reasonable for August in the San Juan Islands, but be aware you may end up paying twice, with a lot of time and aggravation trying to get your money back. I see now from other reviews that this is a repetitive problem.

Awesome place. Just walked in from the ferry and whole process took about 4 minutes. Rental prices start about $45 or $50 bucks. Way better than doing a scooter or go car. (They even have smart cars if u are really looking to have that small car feel). Great guys. Super easy. No fuss.
