Overall I like the products and most things are at a good price, but they have a huge issue with lack of stock for sale items. They will usually have a 2 week sale, but 2 days after it begins they are out of stock and have a "can't help you" attitude when you ask if product can be transferred from other stores. Ordering on line is a horrible experience with the order "processing" for many days and the only way to cancel is by phone with hour plus waits. Shopping there is a frustrating experience.

One of my favorite places! Great prices, plus friendly, helpful staff! Many contractors, hunters and lots of average folk shop here. Very loyal customers. Great flyers every few weeks. The same flyers available on-line too. The on-line flyers are very user friendly. Oh... and very clean washrooms!

They are doing ver well in being diligent about social distancing. They have marked off lines on the ground to line up to go in and line up for cash too. The have a person with a mask at the front entry door greeting each person to help direct them to the needed area of the store and they have shields installed at the cash registers. Service was also great.

They have flyers that show items that they don't have, can't get, or only had once. Surplus items are the worst. Head office in Winnepeg does not supply the rest of the stores very well. Don't expect to find what you are looking for in the store.

Terrible customer service no one ever seems to be on the floor even when the store is empty I spend most of my time looking for help and then never asked if I needed it when I do get help your employees have no idea what I'm talking about and don't have base knowledge of car mechanics. Nine times out of 10 this location does not have what I'm looking for in stock things as simple as mass air flow cleaner, which again the employees don't know what it is when I ask for it. I will no longer be shopping at this establishment they have lost my business for life... The sad thing is I don't even have any one person to complain about because I never find anybody.

BUYER BEWARE--- CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS, CAREFULLY>>>>>Did you know that only some companies in Nova Scotia enter into the Scanner Price Accuracy program. For those who are not familiar, the company voluntarily enters into a code of conduct that indicates if you are over charged you are either entitled to receive the product free or receive up to $10 off. Many major retailers have entered this program. Walmart, Canadian Tire, Superstore, ETC. HOWEVER Princess Auto has not. After a few years of shopping at Princess Auto and careful inspection of my receipts, I have perhaps realized the reason why they have not voluntarily entered this program. My family has been over charged MULTIPLE times, only a dollar or two, but nonetheless, over charged. SO, if you decide to shop here, buyer beware, because a dollar here and a dollar there for an individual is not much, but does in fact add up to quite a return for Princess Auto. I brought this matter to the attention of LOUISE at Princess Auto in Dartmouth, the worst customer service ever WILL NEVER!!! SHOP THERE AGAIN!!!!

Stopped in to pickup an item I had ordered and paid for online. Decided I'd have a look around while I was in the store. While in the store I came face to face with a man not wearing a mask, several times. I likely wouldn't have come face to face with him if he had been obeying the arrows indicating the directions for the aisles. I was very surprised that no staff member had approached the individual with regards to the obvious violation to public health regulations and either reminded him that he needed one, or told him he had to leave. I believe the business can get into as much trouble as the individual for ignoring public health.

Generally speaking I have had no issues with Princess Auto. Today that changed. Placed an online order this week for a few Blackstone accessories. I ordered the breakfast kit, basting cover, and a griddle stand. They have the cheapest prices for Blackstone gear and a pretty good selection. I selected the pick up in store option as I had to go that way today anyway. Last night I got a phone call, saying they had 2 of the items, but even through the griddle stand showed in their store inventory, they didn't appear to have any. I said no problem, I'll order it online and get it shipped to my house. I went to the store today to pick up the other two items. I walked in the store, walked down the aisle where the Blackstone accessories were. Looked for a minute, turned around, and there was the griddle stand, they the didn't have or couldn't find, on the shelf directly behind me. Wow. See attached pic. Whatever. Not a big deal. It will show up at my house next week. The email that said my order was ready said to find any associate in store and they would retrieve it. I found a guy walking the floor. He told me I had to go to the checkout and they would take care of it. The checkout line that was currently almost to the back of the store. Isn't the purpose of online ordering to avoid this exact situation? Online ordering has been encouraged to help with social distancing during a pandemic. Now I have to go stand in the lineup of 25 people. No problem. When I finally get to the checkout, I show the order email. They tell me that I have to drive my car to the loading door at the side of the store to pickup my order. So I did that, which took 30 seconds. I sure wish the order pickup email said this. It would have saved me almost an hour. I wish I could say I had a positive experience today, but I got nothing but the runaround from Princess Auto today.

(I also think we may be addicted to the smell when you walk in the door ... lol brings back amazing childhood memories of Handy Andy & Can Tire) 2nd Every time there’s any issue with an item they take excellent care of us, no matter if it’s a broken zipper on a new rainsuit, a broken handle & yesterday it was a leaking oil issue on a high priced item recently purchased. Brought it in.... low & behold they were all out of stock, but when the manager realized that waiting for product delivery in 1-2 weeks would be a challenge for our project, he came up with an Amazing solution to the problem! He FIXED the issue immediately by exchanging our midrange priced, item for a BETTER, more expensive in-stock model at an UNBEATABLE price! THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR AMAZING SERVICE.... AGAIN We can count on Princess Auto products and service every time we make a purchase. You truly take care of the Customer, as promised!
