I signed a 5 year full service lease which consisted of a monthly fixed payment and a mileage rate for maintenance and road side assistance. All was well until about a year and a half. My base rate went up. When I inquired my rep said the fine print on thr contract allowed to increase the base rate based on CPI. The increase was $26/mth. 6 mo the later they did the same thing. And it went up $33/mth. My rep told me that there are citrate where that is not included but because I signed there was nothing I could do. I asked for it to be escalated several times and no results.

This afternoon, I booked a truck from Penske Ottawa for Saturday morning. They sent me a confirmation email (reservation # 79499763) and, consequently, I booked some people to help with the moving on that specific date and time. However, they called me later on to say that their booking system does not reflect the real status of their fleet and that no trucks are available for that date !!! This is a lack of professionalism from Penske. I'll never deal with them and never recommend them to anybody. Please hire someone to connect your booking system to your available fleet. This should be an easy fix !!!

I have never had any problems with this location of penske until this time, after trying to book my truck for an AC malfunction repair for a few days, I finally left the truck with them on Wednesday and picked up on Friday after confirming that the cab AC is fixed, but the APU will be fixed another time. All I needed was the cab AC. Read the report, they changed the filter. I had a feeling that I shouldn't trust this but unfortunately I did. And here I am in Texarkana with the temperature over 95 F and AC not working. They didn't bother to check further to see if there was any problem other than clogged filter with pine needles.

I am not a client but yesterday there was an incident with one of your clients (trucks). Sun. Nov.07 2021 in Bellville a Penske truck hit my daughter's car while it was parked in front of the restaurant she works at. It was bad enough that the driver hit her car but also drove away. The Bellville police are investigating it but in the mean time my daughter has to give a deposit for a rental car that she can't afford for a few days which means she can work! I'm really angry because she did nothing wrong and now she is basically taking on fee's she should have to. Yesterday she used all her tips to pay for a tow.

Absolutely Great Experience and Employees. Mike helped me with everything; was more than professional, and was working very hard to try and make everything work for any customers I saw him dealing with. The truck was VERY clean, worked great, and I got very reasonable Gas Mileage; even fully loaded from front to back !! Overall Experience with Mike, the Truck, and the Company = 10/10 !!!

I returned the truck with full tank. The digital meter showed full and I made sure that I filled it till the nozzle stopped by itself. As a customer all I need to make sure is return the truck with full tank and the gauge shows full. As far as I know a gigital gauge is more accurate than the older gauge and in this truck I had digital gauge. They still charged me for 8.7 litres @$3/litre. I have rented from other Penske locations and never faced such issues. Totally unacceptable. Would not recommend.

It was alright. Truck was good. Service was a little iffy. I got there at 9am on the dot and there's no one at reception...like where's the clerk? Looked everywhere. Went up on the second floor. Nope. Went outside to the side? I see someone washing the trucks. Oh he's a driver and doesn't know anything about the service desk...ok...go back and the guy's there. Doesn't acknowledge his absence and just tells me to stay behind the line, as per covid19 procedures. Whatever. I get it! However he does NOT look at me in the eye and wants me to drop my credit card in a box so he can come and pick it up. Also the clerk may or may not have been wearing a mask. I forget. Go for the reliable truck and 10% discount. Service was bleh.

I was told two days before my rental that a vehicle was not available. The reservation was made 29 Jul for a Aug 28 booking and they called me Aug 26. Do not make a reservation with them, it obviously means nothing. I have the emails confirming my reservation and still does not matter.

Booked online to reserve a truck for Sunday April 30th - reservation was confirmed and everything was good to go. The day after I receive a call telling me that there are no trucks available and that they were "sorry" and nothing good be done. Sunday is the day I need the truck, not during the week like they suggested me to do. Terrible service especially since everything was booked, taken care of etc. If you want your "confirmed" reservation cancelled, book with Penske. If not- go anywhere else. Unreal.

Based on my experience, Penske is unreliable, overpriced and very limited in what they can do to accommodate if there is an issue with a reservation, as they only have one location in NS. I would highly discourage renting from here. I made a reservation with Penske for a 26' truck as I was a little weary with Uhaul as they clearly state on their website that they may not have what you booked at the location you booked it on pick up day. Penske was more expensive but seemed to be more reliable as they do state on their website to guarantee having the reservation at the location selected. They called to confirm the rental 2 days before, and then called the following morning to inform me there are no available trucks. They offered me a cube van and said they could give me a "deal" on it. I booked a 26' truck, what am I going to do with a cube van??? Although they told me the truck that was earmarked for me "broke down" I am not completely convinced as I booked the truck for 3 days for $185 ($61/day), and the daily rate as of this week is $200/day, making a new equivalent reservation $613 instead of $185. The person who called from Penske was polite and professional but not helpful at all, as I am not sure if she was convinced that the truck broke down either. I also noted that a truck breaking down is not an unforeseen situation but a result of lack of maintenance and negligence of the fleet.

I initially gave this location a 1 star review due to the following; I booked online for a Cargo Van, got everything reserved including a confirmation number. Called the location ahead of time to make sure. Turns out they don't have a Cargo Van so they offered me 16' box truck. Got to the location and they told me that contrary to what their website says and my confirmation e-mail says that they cannot accept debit cards for payment. Really messed up my weekend! Since then I raised it to 2 stars due to the customer service demonstrated below; I got a response to this review, from the owner to call a number to try and make it right. I called and they were a little confused as to why I was given that number. I explained my situation and disappointment and they were very understanding and confused once again as to why the debit card was not accepted for the rental. The main office told me they put a note on my file to provide a significant discount on my next rental. I will be renting with them again this weekend hoping that the experience will be better and will update the review accordingly. Good service and the promised discount = 4 stars, while, not so good or no knowledge of promised discount = 1 star.

After having a difficult time get a truck for moving as another company didn't inform of certain information, I called Penske and luckily they had a truck available. They were quick to serve us which was great as we were already behind schedule. The only thing is that they are very costly.

I've rented a 26' moving truck there some months ago. The km was about 180 000 on it, the horn wasn't working, the brakes weren't working and the engine had no power. So basically I had to drive at 35km per hour to ensure that the truck would stop when needed and very dangerous because no horn to alert outside of eminent collisions. It was a very stressful ride, wiper weren't working much. Terrible experience. I'm unsure why they would have such a dangerous vehicle on their fleet. Luckily, no accidents occurred and good thing that I have over 30+ years of road experience as I wouldn't have done it safely. I won't rent again from that location as there's too much at stake when driving.
