Friendly and quick service! We booked ahead online for 4:30, but arrived at 3:30 and it was fine. They made suggestions and offered advice about the car choice. We got a brand new caravan that was clean and reliable. When we had a question and called in, they were very kind on the phone. Everything went smoothly.

I would not rent a car in this location. Such a bad service. They charged me a damage warrant fee without fully informed about the detail amount. They said it will cost $13 something for it. And later they charged me $58 saying that's amount for the damage warrant. And these guys didn't explain to me about this. That it will cost this much if you bring vehicle back without damage. They explained to me only it will cost $13 if the car damaged to cover. If there was full of explanation, I would not accept it for short period of rent. These guys are such a scammer

When I came on time to pick up my car, they told me to wait 15 minutes for an oil change. After waiting 30 minutes, I was brought to my car. When I left the office, I noticed that the oil change was due in about 800 KM. So I waited for nothing and had to do an oil change on my own time for their vehicle. The car I picked up had food, toys and chocolate milk all over the trunk which I didn't notice until we left. It was a last minute trip to Ontario from BC for a family emergency so we had no time to go back for a new rental vehicle. I called to extend my rental and was told they will honor my rental agreement if I doubled it. When I got the bill after dropping off, I was overcharged by about $1000. And now, the employee who I talked to conveniently doesn't work there anymore. And I've been waiting for a call from them for over a month with no resolution at all.

Very positive experience. But I had to wait for sometime to get the keys to the car because they were not able to open the vault that kept all the car keys - it appears that an employee tried to unlock the vault before the preprogrammed time of 0900 in the morning and so the system locked by itself. We had to wait until the manager arrived and rebooted the system so that he could open the vault and get the car keys. Yes, many other customers were visibly upset with this entire ordeal but the personnel were very professional about this situation. Would come again in the future.

Great service :) I was in Vancouver a few weeks ago and used these guys for 10 days, got a great car, great rate and the person that helped me was super friendly!!! Would def use them again, plus the Camry was amazing on gas 90 bucks for 10 days with a driving to van and back love it !!!

Well, I must preface this in that we have rented a car from this location once previously with good results. This time.....not so much. Picked up the car without any issues. Returned it after hours and dropped the keys in the lock box. Fast forward a week or so and the charge on our credit card was more than originally quoted. Called and was told, "It needed gas put in it." "It was full when we dropped it off and we have a picture of the odometer/fuel gauge to show that." "Oh......I'll talk to my lot guy and call you back." No phone call. Called 3 days later, "I'm the only one here today so you need to call the Manager on Monday." Called Monday, "Hi, I need to talk to the Manager please." "What's his name?" "We weren't given a name." After explaining the issue he responds, "Im the manager." !!??!!?? Shady!!! We emailed him the picture of the gas gauge and he emailed back,"Is that the outgoing or incoming picture?" "Um, as per the odometer reading, it is definitely the incoming picture when we dropped it off." "I will call you to explain." He (Ilyck was his name) calls and tells us that, "In order for it to be considered full the gauge has to be above the Full line." WHAT???? LOL. We disagreed with that and the phone conversation ended. Emailed him back quoting the Agreement he had provided us with when we picked up the car that nowhere states that a car has to be returned OVERFULL. At this point he ignored any emails. Got ahold of Hertz Canada and after emailing them picture they told us the charge would be reversed. All in all, this took almost 3 weeks to resolve. So folks, BEWARE of this location. FRAUD is one of the games they play, and then won't rectify it. I'm guessing that because they do a lot of ICBC rentals that they have just become accustomed to adding charges without any repercussions. Shady as they come.

My insurance had organized a rental for me and it took only 15 minutes from the moment I walked into Hertz to discuss the particulars, sign the paperwork and get into my rental car. My only complaint is that it is an awkward location to access - heed Google maps directions and approach so the lot is on you right!

When I arrive to their office, and want to rent a car from them, the first staff tell me that they don't have a car for rent, and second staff coming into office and just give me a Toyota sienna. The car is clean and very new. Everything looks good so far in my rental time.

Reserved full size car - was told to take a Mazda 2 sub-compact or leave it. They also tried to slap a ton of bogus charges to the rental cost - not shown on the rental confirmation. I cannot believe Hertz is OK with these bozos using their name. Awful place, awful service, awful staff. Avoid at all costs!

If i had to give it 0 star i would, i was helping my uncle rent a van, mind you he does not know anything about cars and not fluent in english. On the other hand i work for a dealership, so once the time came for inspecting the car, the car was in such a bad shape. There was damage everywhere, but worse when i checked the tire, all 4 tires was totally bold. I mentioned it to them and told them, this is a safety issue and that they cannot rent cars like this. Once the “Manager” came, he said he did not check the vehicle, no aplogies nothing. If i wouldnt of been there my uncle would of just took it. Watch out people!!!! They do not care, if you need to rent a car, take a friend or someone who knows car with you, so you dont make that mistake.

I rented from here through an auto body shop. This was an ICBC claim which is covered through my insurance. I was concerned about the amount that would be held on my credit card. The staff told me it would be 100 if there was an appointment booked through ICBC and if not would be 200 to 300 dollars. I requested for him to let me know if it is more than 100 as I didn't have that much on my card and would have to make arrangements to put it on. Did I get a call? NO!! They put a hold of 364!!! Even more than what he had said. When I called them all he said was he forgot. No resolution offered whatsoever. Now even if they reverse it that amount is not available for about 5 business days. Not to mention it is a shady practice to leave that blank and just fill it in later. Also my fault for not demanding at the time they fill in how much they are taking off. Why the hell do they need that amount anyway? I would never ever rent from this shady place. I would take the car back immediately but I am stuck for transport at this time. If there was a zero star I would give that.

This is one of the shadiest rental places you can go. Anyone i talk to has had problems; ss"i jad to go back and tell them they were charging me too much. Not just over the phone in person taking time out of my day and all i ended upwith was a lousy credit, for you guessed it hertz." My experience was i had a rental due to an accident and asked how long it was good for. They said"it all depends it is different for everyone" why it's that ??? So i told then to get a hold of me at least two days before it was done. Instead what i got was acharge for three extra days. There was more but its too much to talk about. So dont use them unless you are very diligent take pictures record what they say and read the contract.

On check-in they gave me a significantly lower car class than the full size I had reserved or than what I paid for. The car was in poor shape and had interior and exterior damage. It also came with less than a full tank of gas. I reserved a full size vehicle because I wanted the larger more powerful vehicle for a longer trip. I got a compact car with an under powered engine that rattled at highway speeds. Very unimpressed.

I arrived at 4:30 to pick up a car that was reserved for pick up at 3pm and they'd given it away to someone else. So apparently you really need to call to keep your reservation until the end of the day like all other rental companies do. With that being said they gave me the next car that arrived and it wasnt too bad. When I brought the car back, they told me I could get a 10$ discount if i did their survey online. The employee asked for my phone and he completed the CUSTOMER FEEDBACK survey HIMSELF, using my phone, and presumably my name. So, here's my honest review of the service, not one completed by an employee.

Good car rental place in coquitlam. Unfortunately we booked our car using a third party website and it had u limited mileage. During pickup we were told unlimited mileage was not included and we only have 500km to drive per day. This sounded ridiculous to us and we argued back about hkw we had unlimited mileage. We even showed him a copy of our booking to prove it. But he was not convinced and told us that they were not liable for what third parties say. He told us this time we'd be ok but the next time to book through hertz as their policy differs from third party websites. I feel like this is not the customers job to do. The customer looks for the cheapest car rental values that meet his or her needs. Its their responsibility to reach out to the third party and tell them to srop deceiving people

The only reason I am giving a a 2 star and not a 1 is because they jumbled cars around to get us one when there was a issue with where we were picking up the car. When we picked up the car it was in poor shape, the exterior was in poor condition, not that it matters, there were dents and significant scuffs everywhere. Not a car I would be proud to own nor rent out. Moving on to the interior... when I picked it up the interior was soaked in febreeze to the point I could barely breathe. It was next level disgusting once the febreeze wore off.... the B.O smell that was in car made me gag. Seriously disgusting..... now here's the kicker. My mother is a smoker.... so she smoked outside the car, got in and the smell transferred to the car I guess as I did'nt smell it ( I do not smoke). Now in comparison to the B.O that was in the car it was insignificant..... but here comes the $200 charge to detail it. Ya right. Beware renting a car from Hertz and I i will not be returning to this or any other Hertz location. I will be also advising ICBC to consider switching preferred rental companies.

Never ever rent from this location if you don't want to get overcharged for no reason! The car was not what I expected from Hertz, worn out dirty Kia without a back camera and with less than half a tank fuel. After a return Hertz authorized about $500 in different charges for no reason. This has been cleared out only after multiple complains to the corporate. Anyway instead of charging me $36 as I expected - I've been charged $50 as "Late administration fee". I'm still puzzled what does I mean as the car has been returned on time and even Hertz billing receipt says so.

I was going to try and rent a car from Enterprise. I was quoted neary 600 dollars for 2 days for a Toyota rav 4, just about spit out my coffee. Asked why it was so much. I was told because of the time of year that premium pricing was in effect. Hung up and called Hertz and was quoted just over 300 for the same time frame. Moral of the story? Dont call Enterprise...

I would give them a MINUS if I could. Rented for an ICBC replacement and they refused to provide any documentation when it was returned. Citing they needed to check with the agent that rented the vehicle because the windshield was damaged. Their own documentation showed the windshield was damaged before we received it. Not over yet, still sorting this out and they are being report to Hertz and ICBC. BEWARE and be wise - rent elsewhere

My car insurance company (ICBC) covered total rental car charges and advised me not to pay them the rental charges. When I got my visa statement I found $157 charged to my account by them, after I claimed for wrong billing they said it was a mistake and that they will refund my visa. I have received my 2nd visa statement with no refund whatsoever yet. I have to wrestle out my stolen money from them. I don't recommend this place. Also the car was not even close to drivable condition, wasn't cleaned up and smelled bad when I took it over. I won't rent from this place again.

While our car was in the shop we can where for a rental. Set us up and were very helpful. We weren't sure how long we would need the rental, so figured a week. We were assured that if we didn't need it for that long, we'd only be billed for how long we had it. The next day our dealership came through with a courtesy car. They even went the extra mile of getting the rental back to Hertz. Fantastic. Less than 24 hours and were billed $545. I'll take the bus before coming back.

If it was not for ICBC. having a contract with Hertz I would never darken the door of this poor excuse for car rental office. A car with no damage on it took 15 mins to make down all scraps and dent including chipped windshield. Car come with 1/3 of a tank of fuel was asked to sign for 1/2 a tank. Had to wait 45 mins for a confirmed time with both Body shop and ICBC. to top it off a Chevy Cruze was my replacement SUV. Yah like that happened. Currently waiting for a full size truck also reserved by ICBC was to be on site at 9;00 am will do follow up after I finish this experience of , You payed for gold star and got hertZ. If you have time to waste and don't mind being given the absolute run around and treat like a urine sample feel free to ignore my simple statements of truth.

Just like the other guy who said, if I can give MINUS I will give them negative 5 stars. If you have to deal with them 1) make sure you insist that you get your paper work back, at least a copy, because it will make your dispute with credit card company easier later. 2) They still try to charge extra insurance on your car. Since insurance should fall under your own insurance.. just say no. They will BS as safety deposit, trust me, it is NOT as I found out the hard way. 3) Make damn sure you check the car inside-out before signing. Take your phone and video the whole walk-through. They will try to rush you. Take your time. I will never ever deal with these guys again. In fact, I will avoid Hertz when I can because of this experience. If ICBC ever suggest you to get car from these guys then just ask ICBC for another place!

I received a rental car for an ICBC claim that took place over 4 months ago. I just noticed a charge from HERTZ on my card a few days ago (3+ months after having had the car) and when I called they told me there was nothing showing that I was charged on my end, would follow up and then call me back, which they never did. When I called back, they told me to call ICBC and told me they couldn't find me in the system, were extremely rude over the phone. Also, when the car was returned, the called and harassed me multiple times because they couldn't find the car. Horrible service overall

Worst experience ever. Poor google rating is reflective of the staff and service. I thought I would give them a try as the location was closest to me but sure enough I got what I paid for. Had a 6pm reservation and stated when I arrived at 5pm that I had a reservation for 6pm. At no point did the desk front mention...”your reservation is for 6pm and if I check you out right now you will be charged an extra day”....not one word. Why would I want to incur an extra days charge just because I arrived early? I feel totally blind sided and work in the customer service industry myself as a District Manager....this is a shady way of making an extra buck and the District Manager will not even answer his phone. To make matters even worse I picked up the car with barely 3/8 of a tank (they wrote down 4/8 but I took a picture of the gas level & mileage when I got in the car), the car was not cleaned very well, inside the interior had a damp mildew odour and the car wasn’t even vacuumed. When I rent a car I expect a great customer experience, full tank of gas, clean car...I brushed it off and didn’t say anything but after how I’m being treated I’m going to make sure others are aware. The fellow that called me back when I was asking for clarification of my bill called me and I was unsure of who it was at first. A bit confused I asked, sorry who is this as the line was silent for a second....his response was “you’re the one who emailed to call you”. Most professional business like people would state their name and company they’re calling from. Totally rude, worse customer experience....if ‘‘tis was my employee he wouldn’t have a job. Never have I been treated with such disrespect. I don’t normally post reviews but I’m going to make sure everyone is aware of the service at this location.

was not impressed with the excuses they give when they can't deliver on a pre booked car with a pre booked appointment. eventually after showing various voice to text voicemails and call history they caved and admitted they messed up. they did at that point go the extra mile to get me a vehicle but I was not impressed at the tactics they used to avoid owning up to the situation and the customer service only kicked in "sorta" when I reached deep to show them the reality of the situation. I got a different car, at a more expensive rate then promised, but at least I got a car.

Their loyalty membership is useless. I purposely chose Hertz because I wanted to rent vehicles as a part of a loyalty system. I wasn’t able to add points to my membership. The car I was given wasn’t cleaned before they gave it to me. It smelled bad. I had to buy to vent clips to try to mask the odour. I’ll book on Hotwire or something similar next time.

In branch experience was ok no concerns. But when the staff member drove me to the body shop to get my car I was gripping the seat. He should not be driving a company vehicle let alone driving customers around and representing the company. Well over the speed limit and then hard brake at lights. Will avoid this branch in future.

DO NOT RENT A CAR from this location. They gave me a car that wasn't clean and when I returned my rental I was told that I will be charged a cleaning fee. They charged my credit card 6 months later for another rental fee without my knowledge. Fraud alert!!

The service is very good and the vehicles they have are new and well maintained. Their staff is also very professional. I was attended by Mr. AHSAN at this location and he made my experience 5Star. Picking up the vehicle was very convenient and drop off was also very smooth. I am not sure ppl here gave them low rating but for me the staff and Hertz service was flawless. These guys are so dishonest, scam artists. When asked if insurance was mandatory, they said yes and charged me $25.99 a day for it. When asked to get a ride to the sky train, they lied to me and said that 5:45pm was too late yet they're open tell 6. I would avoid using Hertz if you can. We had a Hertz rental through an ICBC claim. While we had the rental car we passed over the Port Mann bridge, we were warned that we would be charged if we didn't handle the toll charge so we did so promptly. Just over a month later we had a charge on our visa for 17.85 for the toll. When we called Hertz to tell them about the charge they told us it was up to us to deal with this third party company to get the charge reversed. So despite us paying the toll promptly, we are left with a charge that we need to get reversed even though this company is hired by Hertz and has given our cc# to them. Very poor customer service and staff that don't really care. Please avoid this company if you can!

Auto body shop specifically requested a small SUV, it was on the paperwork. They brought me a small car. The guy who dropped if off, told me to just stop by (my time and effort) & they will put me in a SUV. He speciality said I didn't need to call ahead . I make the effort and of course they have no SUVs. Told me I should have called first. But wait, guess what, they'll call me and I can make the effort again when they have one available. Lucky me. The car they gave me was disgustingly dirty on the inside. I had to disinfect it.

Dirty cars, dirty office, broken cars, horrid place over all. ICBC said i would get a full size courtesy car as my crown vic was written off. Instead of a nice pleasant experience, i show up and they offer me a vw jetta or a toyota corolla. THOSE ARE BOTH COMPACT! So I had to pay an extra 25 dollars a day or something just to get a full size vehicle. I get my first courtesy car, its a small and compact jeep. Smelled like wet dog, very dirty inside (Including somebodys blood in the back), and the transmission slammed around which only put me into more pain in my neck. So I went and got another vehicle, Dodge Journey R/T. Nice vehicle, except the brakes didnt work properly, the front left hub was grinding, it was beat to hell, snot wiped all over the doors, extremely dirty, and generally an unsafe vehicle due to failure to maintain it, So I got ANOTHER ONE! 3rd courtesy car. It came with a slipping transmission, bald tires, and smelled like something died in it. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! At the end of it all even though icbc was supposed to cover the courtesy car, I ended up paying over 600 dollars out of my pocket on an upgrade and insurance that i shouldve never had to pay for in the first place. HERTZ RENT A CAR GET IT TOGETHER! I WILL NEVER BE BACK!

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE! My elderly father signed a blank sheet upon returning his rental car. Several weeks later we received a copy that had some new additions - a paragraph written by someone else that read "I hit a pole and a rock hit the windshield". Neither of these things occurred! I can tell by the reviews here, that he is not the first customer they have done this to. Even if he had hit a pole (which he did not), he had purchased extra insurance. After several weeks of getting the runaround, the manger of this location finally send me an email in saying that my father didn't owe any money. Over the next several weeks, a very rude "Mrs. J. Powell" from Hertz harassed us via letter and phone, demanding the $300. I am still working to fix this as she threatens to send this to collections. Don't let your elderly parents rent from here!

I rent a lot of vehicles for work, and I have consistently had really good service from this Hertz. Not once have I been hassled over any minor details. I always get the vehicle class I reserved and the vehicles are always in good-to-excellent condition. Today I returned a car and I was running a little behind (maybe 30 mins) and some places get really passive-aggressive about it (“you know you’re returning late right? I should be charging you...”, etc.) but at this Hertz they always simply ask if my rental was good for me and how my day is going! Ali was helping me out with my rental and I would definitely give his service 5 stars out of 5.

I called this location first thing this morning to arrange a car for my grandmother. They took down my information and said they would call me back in a few hours. They never did so I called them. They said not a problem to come in this afternoon and they would have a car for my grandmother. Once my grandmother got there they acted like they knew nothing about her coming in. Made her wait outside while they dealt with other customers and then asked my mom who was with her for my grandmothers info acting like she wasn’t there. Will never ever use this location again. Was a complete waste of my time all morning thinking I was booking something with them

The truck I rented was filthy. Touching the steering wheel was like using someone's dirty keyboard. It appeared the surfaces were wiped down a few weeks ago but there was gook in all the cracks and crevices. The gas tank was 1/4 full and I am to return it this way. Seriously, with the price of gas they want me to return the truck with exactly 1/4 tank! I rented a truck because I need a truck. I was told however that I couldn't use the truck to Tow anything. Really? Nothing in the contract I signed States this. Oh yes, and no pets allowed in the vehicle. I guess we have to leave them home when we go away for the weekend etc. Not impressed with Hertz. Won't rent from them again.

I was quite happy with the service as they upgraded me to a larger SUV with snow tires after hearing that I was going over the Coquihalla Highway. That kind gesture turned out to be a lifesaver as there was a 20cm dump of snow there on Friday April the 3rd. Thank you Hertz!! I'll be renting from you again!

As I waited for my rental pick up, i saw a beautiful clean pick up come to the front, next thing I know a guy comes out of the office and tells the other guy wrong truck. I wait, he comes back with a newish, but very dirty stinky truck!! We are talking bugs on the front window, grill, side mirrors, dirty water marks on all the windows and mirrors, filthy all over, even worse on the inside. Stunk, filthy front and side windows.... I didn’t even want my family in it. So disappointed in this rental company. I let the very reputable dealership that brought me here to rent a truck know....pretty sure they’ll never rent from you again either. Terrible .

Received the wrong vehicle than what was promised. The seat belt was soaked seats were wet, tried to change the vehicle and got the run around for five days. Always had to chase for answers. Charges on my credit card which were never explained prior to vehicle pick up. Barely showed the vehicle and very unprofessional customer service.

One of the worst business experiences of my life (STAY AWAY – Even if ICBC sends you here): 1. On the day I went to rent the car, I saw a notice on the wall about service charges for bridge tolls. I expressed my displeasure with the fact I was going to have to pay a $14+ service charge for my bridge tolls. The guy who I was talking about told me not to worry about it as I didn’t have to pay it as long as I paid the tolls before I returned the car. It turned out that this was not so and I was charged the service charge. Apparently only one bridge will allow you to pay the charges before they are billed to the rental agency. The other bridge (Golden Ears) requires you to rent a transponder. I paid much more for my crossings than I would of if I were not mis-informed. 2. Complained about the service charge after the fact. Response was that’s just the way it was. Didn’t seem to care that I was mis-informed. Asked to speak with the manager. Manager wasn’t in. Asked for a return call; no return call ever received. 3. Car was dirty when I received it, but not any dirtier than my car was, so I can’t really complaint about that. However, the rental inspection form said the tyres were okay. When I got home they didn’t look “okay” so I checked the tyre pressure; it was at 20 psi. Not exactly what I would call “okay.” Rather, I would say dangerous or at minimum “not environmentally friendly.” 4. I had the car for three months. The rental was being paid for by my insurance company but I frequently received calls that the car was overdue and would be impounded if I didn’t return it. Rental agency wouldn’t extend out the due date without something from the collision shop. I had the collision shop call them on numerous occasions, but all they did was get into arguments with the people at the repair shop. I’ve done business with this particular repair shop for approximately 20 years so I’m comfortable in the knowledge that the problem didn’t exist with them. 5. Had to pay a $600 deposit because the rental agency couldn’t work things out with the repair shop. It was credited back to my account after a while. 6. Complained to Hertz International about the service I was receiving and problems with the agency. They assured me that JASPREET (the manager) would call me back to deal with my problems. Again, no call back. I wonder if JASPREET even exists??? 7. I got into an accident with the vehicle and called them for advice as to what I should do (since it was their car). I received a couple of suggestions because they didn’t really know what I should do. So, I just kept driving the car as is so I wouldn’t have any more hassles with these guys than I already had. Overall, my experience was frustrating (at best) and infuriating (at worst). As I was telling all my friends (and the repair shop) about the things I was experiencing they couldn’t believe it; it was that unreal. Stay away from these guys and don’t believe a word they say (there is a distinct lack of knowledge base and caring individuals at this location). THEN after all this, I get my credit card statement only to find that I was charged $64.45 for taxes my insurance company wouldn't pay. Hertz contacts with my insurance company and yet tries to charge them tax they don't want to pay, then charges me? I phoned them twice trying to get it resolved. They assured me on the second call that I would be credited. It wasn't done. Finally I had to call Hertz Canada to complain. It ever ends with these people. They have no idea what the term customer service means.

I read through earlier reviews by other customers & it looks like there were some issues but they seem to have been fixed now. An excellent & efficient service was provided by Mr Arjan & the team. He was very pleasant and professional throughout. He kindly arranged a very clean burgundy Nissan Sentra which my wife instantly fell in love with. When we brought the car back it was raining heavily & Mr Arjan was so kind as to create a space in the reception for my wife & our baby to sit comfortably. Thank you Sir for your perfect customer service & efforts. We will definitely be recommending you guys as a good car rental outlet in the city.

The only reason I went to Hertz was because that my car insurance company (ICBC) had coordinated for me to get my rental car. When I initially went to pick up my vehicle during check in, I encountered nothing but rude service. The branch worker had a terrible attitude. The car I was picking up was dirty on both the inside and out. I asked them to wash the car and clean it out, and was told that if I was unhappy with the shape of the car, I "could just take the bus". Is that really how one responds to a customer when THEY are at fault? I had no choice but to take the car as mine was in the shop. When my car was fixed, I returned the car with the right amount of gas without a hassle. When I got my credit card statement, I found a $6 charged to my account. Not that the amount is a big deal, just the fact that they charged me is inconceivable. When I went into the rental place to inquire about this, I was once again mis- treated. The branch blamed ME, and said that I had not returned the car with enough gas. They required "proof", but what kind of proof would I have, especially when I was not expecting this? Neither the two branch workers, nor the manager could not help me when I came in with my inquiry. This is most certainly the last time I will ever deal with Hertz, and especially this branch.I would have given no stars, but sadly, that isn't an option. I do not recommend this car rental company to anyone who values good customer service, their time, or their money. Someone from higher up in the company needs to look into this and fix this terrible customer service.
