DO NOT BOOK! THEY RUINED MY WEDDING
We hired a 36-person bus from this company to bring 35 guests from 3 hotels in Richmond to our destination wedding in Squamish. I gave them clear instructions that the pickup should be at 2 pm, and arrival should be before 4 pm (it's about a 1-1.5 hour drive, so I gave some leeway for pickup and departure). I also told them that the ceremony would start at 4:30.
At 2, many guests were calling the wedding coordinator and golf course telling them that the bus had not shown up yet, and others were saying that the bus had arrived but were not letting any passengers on. This made its way to me, when the coordinators were asking what I wanted to do. Obviously not a great experience on my wedding day!
After dozens of calls back and forth (the company phone operator would not allow us to talk directly to the bus driver), trying to figure out where the bus was, when it would arrive, etc., finally two new buses were sent and picked up the guests.
One bus arrived around 3 pm and another around 3:30, leading my guests to arrive closer to 5:30 pm. Keep in mind these are close friends and family, who we had booked hotels for. It was complete chaos - some guests were abandoning the bus and renting their own cars, while others were calling me constantly trying to figure out what the schedule/plan was.
I had to deal with this entire emergency during our wedding party photo shoot, which was a complete nightmare. Not only that, but due to late arrival of so many guests, the schedule had to be reworked several times (as the ETA became later and later) and people were unable to enjoy the wedding.
I talked with some of the bus passengers later, and they told me that the bus driver was on his phone when it arrived, and was not paying attention to the road, and crashed the bus into a tree (or lamp post or something). Then, after backing up to let in passengers, he still forgot to put it into park and the bus went forward again, and he rushed to hit the brakes. The bus was so badly damaged the door would not open.
Later in the evening, our day-of coordinator came to me and told me that the bus was holding passengers hostage, since they had all boarded the bus but the bus would not leave until they were paid. He told me that he had handled the situation and convinced them to go, but the whole idea of keeping guests hostage just felt extremely wrong.
This is the least professional company I've ever worked with, and they single-handedly ruined my wedding. If I could go back in time, I'd tell myself to burn the money used to pay this company and warn all my guests that they'd be better off biking the 90 km to Squamish than taking their chances with this company.
