I rented a car from Nextcar in Pearson Airport in Canada and it was my worst car rental experience.Be careful, they have many hidden fees and I believe most of the customers do not check their bill. beside charging me extra in final invoice, they also charged me extra conversion rate for CAN to US dollar while this fee was already applied through my visa card and there was no need to apply again by them. Also the quality of the card was terrible and made noise like a plane engine over 80KM.

Another awesome york rental experience. Had a great deal lined up on a Mercedes C class, but our group of 5 with luggage would have been a bit tight so they offered a reasonable upgrade and wound up getting us a beautiful new BMW X5. Service at the counter was friendly, fast, and efficient. Michael personally checked on me when I picked it up. I loved all the tech and he was happy to show me some fun features of this SUV. Return went as smooth as can be. No lines, quick look over and we were on our way. York remains my first choice for a luxury rental

Read their rental policies before booking !!! Absolutely horrible and wasting my time. Booked through Expedia with unlimited mileage but the agent in counter said there is a special policy that if you travel outside of the province there is limitation on the millage : Vehicles taken out of renting province will be limited to 100kms/day, 700kms/week, and 3000kms/Month (max). This is first of my renting car experienced over 10 years. After reading other people’s comment, decided not wasting time on them.

Nice new cars. All good. But this place now posts 100km per day for Ontario license holders which is ridiculous (they give more if requested, but what the hell?). Money hungry car rental companies in ON need to be brought to justice for offering locals very very low miles. While 200 is ridiculous, 100 km/day is just unacceptable and must be marked illegal.

This is the worst company you will ever deal with. There is a guy named Michael working there, who is not just unprofessional but also rude, impolite and probably racist! I still can't believe what he said. How do companies keep these kind of employees? LISTEN! Avoid this company and this Michael at all costs. Don't give them your money! I rented a full size SUV for 8 days because my family of 5 would not fit with luggage and equipment to a camping trip with our own car. This was our first ever camping trip as a family, and we took this opportunity to be near nature in this COVID time. I have rented many SUVs before for leisure trips to the beach. Picking up the car: hard to find York Car Rental Pearson Toronto Airport, because there are no outdoor signs and the agency is actually located in a tiny booth inside the Holiday Inn near the airport. The SUV was there in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn, in good condition. However, after a 3 hr trip to destination we noticed that the 12V outlet wasn't working, so I had to inflate all 5 mattresses with a hand pump. I dropped off the car 7 days later as our trip was cut short for one day. I wasn't expecting a refund but I mentioned this to the agent, of course, he acknowledged no refund for that day. I was ok with that as I thought it was fair. The agent left to check up on the car. When he came back he wanted me to pay an additional cost for cleaning because the car had beach sand inside, both, in the cargo and passenger area. I was outraged, as I have rented hundreds of vehicles in the past 30 years for work and leisure and something like that never happened before. I mentioned that a simple vacuuming would do the trick, don't they have people to do that like at any normal car rental dealership every time a car is dropped off? Terrible experience. It was not stained, it just needed a simple vacuuming job. Things heated up and after a discussion with the agent, I grabbed the keys and took the car to the gas station across the street and with $2.50 and less than 10 min of my time, the car was better than when I received it. I didn't need to, but I also car washed it. Another $12... because I didn't want to give the agent another reason to continue aggravating me. Awful service, won't ever rent again from York Car Rental.

ZERO STARS. SCAMMERS. Worst customer service. The car was filthy and hand footprints on the windshield when I drove off the lot. Michael the manager needs a kick in the face. Rude, overcharged, did NOT explain any of the overcharges for extra KM when my contract was unlimited and their customer service goes straight to voicemail. If anyone else with the same experiences reads this I want to file a class action lawsuit and shut them down before they scam any more people out of their HARD EARNED MONEY. *also charged for an extra day thinking I wouldn’t notice. ** also waiting for that call back from their head office which still hasn’t been returned.

Check in was quick and easy. Very friendly staff and the best part - free upgrade ???? Couldn't be happier with this experience. We got the car for a long trip and it was extremely comfortable. We were causing about following the rules so didn't incur any additional fees. Looking forward to booking again! Thank you.

The Unconventional Route

Beware: They charge a $5/day "transfer fee" for using your credit card's insurance. This was not mentioned anywhere in the voucher on the 3rd party agency I booked the car through. I've never seen an agency charge this before, either. Seems like a scammy money grab. Also beware: The directions for finding the shuttle to the agency are inconsistent. Their automated directions on their phone line says one thing (go to arrivals level) and the voucher says another (go to departures level). Contact them in advance to double check and avoid wasting tons of time waiting in the wrong spot, like we did. Otherwise, the car was good value for money.

Insurance rates higher than any other car rental. I'm sitting on hold with my insurance to verify so they don't hold $1500 on my credit card. Most frustrating car rental experience of my life. Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy. Not mean, but difficult. I should have spent the extra $30 and gone to Avis

Worst car rental service ever. NEVER RENT A CAR FROM THIS CENTER BECAUSE THEY OVERCHARGED EVEN AFTER LODGING A COMPLAINT ABOUT IT. (Ref no: RA2745) We booked a car for a week in which they clearly mentioned unlimited mileage and still they charged us 114$ per day. We have proof of an email and itinerary in which they clearly mentioned unlimited mileage and still they don't even care. After coming back from our trip, we discussed about it to their customer representative and he said we will get a call from their manager. Their manager never called and we tried to call multiple times, they are ignoring us and they charged us more than we thought. CONCLUSION: DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS AND DON'T SIGN THE RENTAL AGREEMENT.

Had a negative Van rental experince with York Car Rent (a.k.a. Next Car Rent) at Dixon Road location. The location charges an extra tax they call "Premium location charge" that is an additonal 15.6% applied to extra KM driven and car insurance. And all this given the unsurance charge itself was at least 50% higher than what I paid at other companies on similar-type vehicles. The charge was not disclosed/explained during my reservation (reservation had entirely different name for this fee and didn't indicate this is a %) and I only found out about it after receiving the final bill break-down in my e-mail after the actual charge. Now dealing with priceline and credit card trying to get a partial refund as location manager refused to provide a refund. Don't get fooled by this company - it hides the actual charges to appear better priced compared to other rental companies.

Luxury cars on very competitive rates. I have been using the rental for 3 months and tried different options and models of cars. All vehicles were 2021 and in very good condition. Staff were always helpful and friendly. Highly recommend for luxury rentals.

THE WORST car rental service ever, Stay AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. I had proof of reservation and clearly mentioned unlimited mileage. However, the staff of the office don't even care and overcharge me. During car pickup, they asked me so many unnecessary questions which aren’t relate to their business. They control your driving area, don’t allow you go outside of Ontario. They are very very small company without any support during rental car driving. If your car has any problem, you need to pay all the costs. They wanted to charge me 35$ just for dropping the car overnight. I had rented cars in so many places around the world and have GOLDEN membership of other companies, but never treated this way before. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

What a car company. Booked a 7 seater to pick up at 11.00 on Dec 29th for four days. Reference WSS12343912 booked through Priceline.com 489-799-743-44. Went to pick up at 11.00 and they did not have the vehicle and can only give at around 2PM. Tried to give me a 5 seater and I told them that I have two of those. Don't book from these jokers.

During booking they specified "valid Ontario license". I handed them my G2 and the person tried to tell me it wasn't a valid Ontario license. Ended up calling Expedia for a refund and booking from a competitor while sitting in the lobby. This isn't a office it's a kiosk at a Holiday Inn.

This location is the worst I’ve ever seen. First of all, they have one person manning the place and be ready to spend 1-2 hours at the counter before you get your car. Next, they will ask for a proof of insurance to drive the car. If you tell them you have insurance plus your credit card covers it, they won’t accept and then FORCE you to buy their insurance on top of your for $20 per day. Next, if you are a couple hours late because of a snow storm, they won’t accept it and they will charge you around $130 per day! If you try to call their so called “Manager” named Mike Fathi, he will not answer your calls. This location is messed up. Please go and rent for a little more money at a better location!

I rented an SUV from this location at beginning of Feb 2021. The front desk was very friendly & helpful and the process took less than 15 minutes. The car itself was new, well maintained and clean. There were no issues with the car during the rental. However , on the day of returning the car, while it was parked, someone hit the car and the rear bumper on the driver side was damaged with few scratches. I took the car back to return and worked with Mr.Michael to process the insurance claim. Michael was very helpful in providing all details to call the insurance and all the required paperwork for the same. I had to pay a security deposit during the process which was promptly refunded once the insurance company processed the claim. Michael was responding instantly to all my emails throughout the claim process and processed the refund in a timely manner. I will recommend this rental company for any friends or family visiting Toronto.

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. They are scammers, they will overcharge your credit card and then will not answer emails or phone calls. If you read the agreement, they have ridiculous extra charges for everything. I had a charge of $2 for a toll route, but they charged me over $70 for "administration" fees. The REVIEWS ARE FAKE! Look into the details of the "people" who give 5 stars, and you'll realize most of them have fake photos and have only reviewed this place with 5 stars. The manager has no ethics and is out to steal money.

Over charged!! The staff was very helpful and friendly but no mention of tolls until after getting home ans getting an email saying I’d be charged $80 for a $10 toll. Come on! They they state that you sighed a contract saying you’d have to pay $50 for any “infraction” no sir that is not an infraction. If your city has tolls then your cars should have express passes. I’m a frequent traveler and this has never happened. Go elsewhere!

We had an odd experience with Nextcar (600 Dixion) . We booked this company on Expedia because it was much cheaper than the other companies & it did say unlimited mileage upon booking. When we got there the person behind the desk was rude, almost annoyed to be helping us. He asked if we were driving locally and we said no, he then advised that it's $ 0.12 per km over 400 km. He said that was stated in the fine print so just be aware of that when booking. Then he told us there is a $500 deposit! um? I've rented many cars in my lifetime and never have i ever had a company charge a $500 deposit hold. His explanation was that it has to be that much because the red light camera tickets were $235 +...hm? So at this point we decided this was absolutely ridiculous and took our business to Enterprise Rent-A-Car @163 Carlingview Dr, Etobicoke, ON M9W 5E7, the best service ever! The person behind the desk was awesome and we were in and out in 10 mins! and the deposit was $200 not a crazy amount like $500.

Overall good quick experience and service. Reserved my vehicle online. Only thing that I did not like was that there was a $5/day fee for not purchasing auto insurance and using my own, as my car insurance policy already includes coverage for car rental. That fee was not clear to me when shopping online. Multiply that over the course of a week plus tax ads up and the total rental cost changes. Other than that it was overall a simple and easy experience.

The price they show online while booking ( including taxes) are way off they charge you when you go there . You have all the plans made and so can not just cancel the booking at the end time . On top of it they lie by saying you have gone out of province and charge you 20 cents per kilo meter . Will have to file official complaint to Ontario government about this since they do not respond well through emails . In short , DON'T RENT FROM HERE FOR CHEAPER PRICE , YOU WILL END UP PAYING MORE .

SCAMMERS - I reserved a full sized vehicle. I got a Honda Civic. My reservation said unlimited km but I later read in the fine print that there may be extra charges for going outside the Province. That is fair but I told the rep at the time of delivery that I was entering Quebec, just near Ottawa. He simply said he would make a note of it. I was told nothing about any possible extra charges. When I returned the car, I was levied an extra $111 in addition to my 2.5 days rental charge. Their policy makes no sense since I could have driven twice the distance I drove (to northern Ontario, for example) and paid nothing extra. I will never rent from them again, obviously. Their company will never grow with first time renters only and I hope they learn this the hard way.

Rented back in March. Was a little suspicious of the low price at first. Picked the car up on a Sunday night from a harried attendant who was nonetheless very courteous and helpful. The car was basically new, and I had no problems with it at all. Returned it the following Friday, and paid exactly what was advertised. It was a completely hassle free experience. Would definitely rent from them again.

I would NOT recommend using NextCar. My flight was a late arrival and my baggage was late. I landed and was texting with NextCar and they said all was good. When I arrived at the desk nobody was there. When I called they said they gave my car away. They did nothing to rectify the situation.

Worst worst rental company. The customer service was so bad. They did not give me the car i booked for. After a month and half, i received an invoice for toll of $11 fee and they are charging $50 as service fee. When i asked, they said it is written down in the contract of 5 pages.

The employment was very rude with out service aptitude . No manager there. We call the manager the next day. He also havent service aptitude. I never rent a car there again.

This was the absolute worst experience EVER! I would give zero stars if that was an option. Do yourself a favour and spend the extra money and use a reputable company. I thought the price was great until they tried to charge me a $300 cleaning fee because they said there was dog hair in the trunk, there were never any pets in the vehicle. I literally picked 20 pieces of lint out of the trunk and it looked fine. He also told me I couldn’t do anything about it and told me to “fu** off” when I told him I would dispute the charges with my credit card company. They obviously try and rip people off when they are on their way to the airport and don’t have time to argue about it. Abby at the Dixon road location is a complete scam artist! They should be ashamed of their business practices!

My entire experience with york was excellent. It was a short shuttle ride from the airport to the rental counter. When we got to the center, a person was there to greet us and check us in. It was super quick and he then directed us to another person that took us to our car. Their COVID safety measures made us feel safe. We were able to choose between a convertible Mustang or Camaro. We went with the Mustang and it was clean and fun to drive. We had it for three days and drove it from Toronto to Niagara and back without any issues. Returning the car was a breeze.

The employee name Michael was one of worst customer representative. He know about the where the damage is and directly go towards that have some superpower to see the damage without inspecting properly. Never ever take rental from them. Non-existent customer service. Terrible experience. My flight was delayed. I arrived within 5 minutes from the 2 hour window and was informer that reservation was canceled. Did not offer me an alternative reservation. When I asked about a refund he told me to call expedia. This location is outside the airport. I had to take another shuttle back to the airport with 3 kids and 5 luggages. At the airport, there were no cars to be rented, due to Christmas. I had to take an uber to my hotel.

I was happy with my experience with Nextcar. I made my reservations through expedia. When I picked up the car it was exactly what I reserved - from the model, price, kms included and location. When we returned the car, it was seamless as well and shuttle back to airport was efficient. There was no other customers at the checkin counter so we were served right away, although the time to get the rental was a little lengthy based on their processes. (ie. cc imprint & authorization, proof of insurance, car walkabout, etc..) From a customer service perspective - only thing missing was a smile and eye contact. These little things do make a small difference and would have brought this review to a 5 star. Tip for anyone renting from here: If your personal car insurance policy or credit card has car rental insurance coverage, bring this "proof" with you. We had brought our insurance slip from home and had access to our policy online(incase they asked). When the question of whether we required car insurance was needed and we declined, the agent did ask do you have the policy/proof with you. That's when we showed them our insurance slip and they took note of the policy # and insurance company name. We were not "pressured" or told "you have to take insurance" once we presented this. I would definitely rent from Nextcar again. Rates were excellent, location was convenient, shuttle service was good, and car was very clean.

Worst company to rent the car ever! I booked my reservation through expedia with unlimited mileage like what other reviews said, overcharge and pushing you to buy their insurance and even threatening you for possible collusion. If you don’t want to pay $300 cleaning fee, you should do car cleaning before you return it. I can’t believe this kind of car rental company exists! They shouldn’t continue their car rental service!!!

Scam and Fraud Alert!!! I usually don’t write reviews but l feel it’s my civil responsibility to let the public know that this is a scam agency. They have a small booth inside the hotel probably to pack up fast once someone decides to file a lawsuit action against them. Why you may ask? Well… 1) not as advertised. Fraud. On the Expedia webpage it states that the mileage is unlimited but when you go pick up the car they give you 200km/day and even say that you get a special offer since normally it’s 100km/day. 2) You think your getting a good deal but end up paying twice the price because when you pick up the car you have to pay for insurance which in trustable brands like enterprise it’s included. 3) Don’t even bother wasting your time and energy arguing. I spend 3 hours calling Expedia and they said they are trying there best to help me fix this issue even after I send them screenshots of the confirmation page clearly listing the mileage and costs. 4) I read the other reviews and noticed that they even charge 300$ cleaning fee so to spare me the headache which I had the entire week because of them, I decided to take the car to a car wash and vacuum it inside. What a joke. What agency makes you return the car clean. 5) They charge extra for over mileage and don’t let you drive out of province like trusted brands of enterprise. So for a one week 1000$ rental this car was useless to me. Ruined my family plans to visit my nephew for her baptism. 6) Knowing this at the car pickup that I was being scammed I was like ok perhaps I can get a refund and go to enterprise because I am not getting the deal I wanted but they were like that’s not part of the contract so you pretty much have to pick up the rental since you already paid 60% of the cost. Bottom line this is a fake illegal rental agency. Don’t get fooled by their low advertised prices. I lost some trust now in Expedia too for not doing a better background check on these thieves.

I will give a ZERO star to this cheap rude car rental. They refused to give me the car stating various stupid and unacceptable reasons. My entire trip was dependent on renting that car, all got wasted as I couldn't find an alternative car on a weekend.
