I found my experience renting from Thrifty was excellent. I booked a hard to find reservation online for an SUV that could provide as safe drive for business trip in Toronto winter weather. I was warmly greeted by the owner, Nav upon pick up. We had a great conversation, told him the reason for rental, and he upgraded me to nicer rental. He was quick to resolve a technical issue and very accommodating throughout. Thank you very much Nav! Looking forward to renting from you again.

I have a bad experience with monthly contract. Rates are not explained clearly before they charge my credit card, customer service is awful, it seem they don’t know what they are doing. Rates are ok, but the service need to improve.

5 minutes ago-Edit I had reserved a car with this company but did not find them accommodating when it came closer to the date and they realized there was complications. My reservation was pushed back by 3 days to accommodate their schedules. I had gone to the location 8:30 am the morning of pick up but no one was there. There was a number on the window but he stated that he was on his way although opening hour was 8am. I did not find this location to be professional. After feeling uncertain about this location after all the hiccups and waiting outside, I decided to cancel my reservation with this location. I had a gut feeling that something else would get messed up and did not want to be overcharged. I went to Enterprise and was served immediately with a lower price than what this company was trying to charge me for the "main" amount of time that I had intended to book the car for. I would not recommended this company.

Service is way below average, the taller man is much more accommodating, but the other will upcharge you and not say a word, the prices aren't bad but they keep increasing it every two months or so. They will clean the car for you if you ask, but other than that we always have troubles with them.

They are scammer , I rented a car from them on Saturday for one day , The front desk employee told me that they are not working on Sunday but I can come and drop the car off any time before complete my 24 hours since they have cameras to monitor the parking lots I returned the car in the same day, and after 3 days they deduct from my credit card 2 days instead of One day and when I went back to their office I meet the manager and he told me that the employee who’s closing my contract is new and he made a mistake and they will refund me , and the refund will take up to 3 weeks Now it’s almost 2 month and I didn’t receive any refund , and when I call the manager he told me that wait for extra 2 weeks I called hertz customer service but no one pick up the phone

I've been using Hertz rental in Pickering at the old Kingston location for years. I travel to Canada frequently from the UK each year and always rent a vehicle for a few months each visit. Unfortunately, the old Kingston location had closed, from which I had always received polite and exceptional service, so I was directed to this new location on Bayly. I rented the vehicle for 5 weeks, but due to a covid related air flight cancellation was forced to return to the UK one week early. I called the young man running the Bayly location to say I was returning the car early and before I had even a chance to finish he abruptly said, "you're not getting your money back". I had not suggested otherwise, but found his response unacceptable and utterly rude and unprofessional. I called the Hertz head office to complain and they immediately apologized and that they would refund money owing within 48 hours, which they did. I found the young man running the Bayly location ignorant and rude when picking up the vehicle, and found him equally rude and ignorant when dropping the vehicle off. I would NOT recommend using this location and suggest trying Enterprise Car rental in Pickering instead.
